Episode Summary: As Mason continues his quest to stop the Beast he comes across several clues as he continues to hop from one dimension to the other.
Disclaimers:I do not own Gravity Falls or the Relativity Falls AU idea.
Author's Notes: Good Morning my amazing readers! I know it's been a long time since this story was updated. Again, I am not sure where the time goes. But here we are again with more secrets from Journal # 3.
Journal # 3 References: So, for the most part this chapter does not divert from the journals accounts, but I did have to change the Oracle prophecy. In the Journal during his time in the dimensions Ford meets an Oracle who gives him his metal plate and tells him "The One who shares your face will defeat Bill." Obviously referring to Stan's sacrifice to erase Bill from his mind. For plot's sake I had to change this for my story.
Also, you are going to meet Rein in this chapter, an OC I made up for the Sake of plot. Since the show doesn't go to great detail about the ancient residence of Gravity Falls, all we know is what is revealed in the Journals. I used this OC to insert these details into the narrative.
With that said, thank you for reading and please review!
Interdimensional P3: Seeking Answers
Time in the Do-Over Dimension had taken some getting use to. Why might you ask? Well for starters Mason had spent the last 24 hours finding an apartment and unpacking only to wake up the next day to discover he was back where he started. Litterly he was standing in front of the wormhole as if he just walked in instead of sleeping in his own bed. That one was really annoying.
And it only got worse from there. 6 months in his apartment had became quite a mess. This had to do with the fact that he was neck deep in research and had zero extra time to clean up. Which wouldn't be a problem if his neighbors hadn't start complaining about the spell. Needless to say, the landlord got involved and told him to clean it up or he was going to throw him out on the curb. So, Mason wasted a whole day's worth of research cleaning, only for it all to get undone. Forcing him to waste a second day cleaning the same ness over again.
Still, there were some plusses to take into consideration. For example, even though actions would be undone you would still retain the knowledge of doing those activities. So even though the book he was reading from the library would sometimes disappear. He would still remember reading the book, thus retaining its knowledge. Even though thanks to the yo- yo effect records showed he never checked the book out in the first place. Which was great because there was certainly a lot of knowledge in this dimension. A fact that he was glad for since he had yet to Find a new wormhole to the next dimension. One thing he learned was why the beast and his goons could not leave the Nightmare Realm.
It was just as he figured. The Beast was too powerful and attempted to leave through a wormhole that would cause it to collapse. They just weren't strong enough for him and his goons to walk through. They needed a more powerful rip in the fabric of the universe. Another thing he learned was about a prophecy, one that described the Beast would win but that there was a way he could be defeated.
He was in the library doing his research when he met another human being. Rein! He was so stunned he almost fainted and rightfully so, he hadn't seen another of his kind in almost 15 years.
"You! You are human!" Mason had explained upon seeing the man.
The man was just as stun as he was. He explained that his ancient ancestor and his family had accidentally walked into a wormhole after fleeing their home.
"Our shaman warned us of a great evil that would come to our land." Rien had explained. In order to spare our bloodlines from the fate this evil would cause they all fled."
"That's fascinating." Mason had said, "Where were they from." He asked, trying to think of any places in ancient times where the entire population disappeared overnight.
"Gravity Falls" Rien answers.
Manson's blood ran cold as heard the name of the town that had started this all. "Your Ancestor is from Gravity Falls!" He exclaimed.
"You've heard of it?" Rein asked.
"Heard of it, I lived there!" Mason explained.
"No, no one must live there, he, he will come." Rien looked fearful.
"You mean the Beast?!" Mason whispered.
"How, how do you know of him!" Rein Jumped back away from him obviously scared!
"When I first arrived, I discovered some cave drawings that spoke of him." Mason admitted.
"Yes, the shaman Modoc the Wise, he nearly fell for the Beast's lies he wrote of his greatness on the Cave walls." Rein looks concerned. "Please tell me you did not use them to Summon him."
"I wish I could." Mason admitted guiltily.
"So, the prophecy has come to pass." Rein sighed.
"Prophecy?" Mason asked.
"It had been prophesized for nearly a billion years." Rien explained. "When Gravity Falls and Earth becomes Sky, fear the Beast with just one eye!"
Mason flinched at his words.
"You've heard it." Rein said, it was not a question, but a statement.
"My fiancé she, she saw him and afterwards she was never the same. She spoke those same words." Mason distraught by this news and rightfully so. "So, it's going to happen, no matter what I can't stop him?!"
"It will happen, but you may be able to stop him." Rien said before drawing a wheel with several symbols on it.
"I've seen this!" Mason exclaimed as he took it from Rien. "It was drawn in the cave as well, but I couldn't make heads or tells of it." He explained.
"Modoc believed these symbols represented people who had the power to stop the Beast if they stood together as one!" Rein revealed.
"People?" Mason asked. He looked at the symbols more closely and one grabbed his attention almost instantly.
A Pine Tree!
"That one is me." He said with certainty.
"How do you know?" Rein asked.
"He calls me Pine Tree." Mason explains. "Has since the day we met."
"Then you must know the others!" Rien insisted.
"Maybe, but I don't see how a drawing is going to stop that monster." Mason said looking doubtful.
"It is a magic circle, a Zodiac." Rien explained. "The power is in the individuals. Alone they stand no chance, but together, holding hands in this circle. They have the power to destroy the Beast for good."
Mason liked the sound of that. Sure, his quantum destabilizer was a powerful weapon, but even that would only weaken the monster and not destroy him completely. Still there was no guarantee he actually knew All The symbols. Sure, there was some he could guess, but that was the problem, he would be guessing. And sure, this prophecy said they would win in the end and that the Beast would be defeated, but…
There was too much left unknown and Mason was never one to leave thing to fate.
"I have a plan; I am making a weapon to stop him." He said. "I will correct my mistake."
"Take this." Rien gave him the drawing of the Zodiac. "When the time is right you will know what to do."
Manson wasn't sure he believed him, but he took it anyway. "Hey while I have you hear is there anything else you can tell me about the Beast."
"No , but there is an Oracle who use to Run with the Beast and his crew, our history foretold that she was the one who tipped off Murdoc of his plans. Thus, preventing him from finishing a portal into our world."
Mason flinched at his words.
"What is the matter?" Rein asked.
"He did the same thing to me, I actually finished making the thing, it's how I got sucked out of my dimension." Manson explained.
Rien looks horrified. "Is it still functional?"
"No, the door disappeared moments after I went through, my sister and one other are the only ones who know of it. And neither of them could get it going. " Mason assured him. "He-He told me there had been others, that he could just try again like he had done before, but to actually here about them…." He trailed off.
"Jheselbraum the Unswerving." Rien told him. "She is the oracle I spoke of. If you truly are the Pine Tree, then she will know how to help you stop him."
"Where Can I find her?" Mason asked.
"She is beyond the 2-D dimension." Rein answered. "And you will not find her." He added gravely. "If you are destine to play a hand in the Beast's defeat than she will find you."
Despite his words Mason left at once to find the Oracle Rein spoke of. It was just as well that he did since the authorities were hot on his trail. It took him weeks to find another wormhole but when he did, he found himself in Lottocron Nine: The Gambling Dimension.
It was like the mob took over the entire galaxy. Except there was no mob, because gambling was not only legal but MANDATORY! Every aspect of life was left to chance at the roll of a dice, even babies learned to roll an eight before they could crawl. He had to carry a deck of cards everywhere.
He found the place depressing but was able to use the place to his favor. Thanks to his extraordinary mind he was able to count the cards and win lots of money, until the bouncer figured him out and he was once again on the run.
Several days later he found himself in a strange world that he mistakenly believed to be the birthplace of the Beast.
The Two-Dimensional Dimension, Rein had said he would find the Oracle beyond it, but first he had to survive it. Being a 3-D being stuck in a 2-D world did not agree with his body. Worse still his vision was impaired, he couldn't see anything for what it really was. Finally, He was forced out of that dimension violently and passed out.
When he came to he found himself in a strange mountaintop shrine surrounded by clouds, looking up at a 7-eyed creature.
" I am, Jheselbraum the Unswerving." She said.
"It's you!" Mason tried to get up, but got dizzy the moment he tried.
"You must rest Mason." She said forcing him to lay back down.
"Where am I?" Mason asked. "And How do you know my name."
"You are in Dimension 52." the Oracle answered. "As for how I know your name, I am a creature of prophecy I know all."
Manson shook his head in disbelief, an act that caused him great pain.
" I have been treating your wounds for a long time." She revealed. "You are lucky I saw your wanted poster and had a vision of where to find you. You might not have made it otherwise."
"A traveler like myself, told me you can help me defeat the Beast." Mason said, getting to the point.
"I can help you protect your mind." the Oracle assured him.
"How?"
"It will require putting a metal plate in my head with difficult surgery." She answered.
"Anything, anything to stop him; just do it." Mason agreed.
And she did. The surgery went off without a hitch, but caused him to need even more time to recover. He didn't mind much because the Oracle passed the time by answering his questions.
Questions that led them to having many long conversations about Bill.
"He is from Euclydia, and it is much like the dimension you just left. His thirst for power caused him to destroy his home, his parents and everyone else he'd ever known."
"He destroyed his own family?" Manson was stunned.
"Family can be difficult." the Oracle said. "You should know that."
"Do not compare me to him!" Mason snapped. "I will destroy him!"
"You will not destroy him." the Oracle said.
"What?" Mason asked, his heart stopping.
"The one who shares your blood will defeat Bill." the Oracle explained.
"He will be stopped?" Mason asked, feeling like he needed clarification.
"Yes, but not by you." the Oracle clarified.
The news should have upset him, but he was overjoyed, relieved even. Because now he knew that if he failed someone else would succeed where he could not. Someone who shared his blood, his family…He was so overjoyed that he decided to celebrate.
the Oracle joined him, and they spent the entire night partying and drinking Cosmic Sand-the very same kind Time Baby himself consumes. It was first time he had felt free of this burden since the moment he realized what a mistake he had made.
Strangely he woke up the next morning in a new dimension entirely. the Oracle was gone, but Mason could not afford to waste more time looking for her. He had gotten his answers and needed to continue on his quest.
Sure, it might have seemed pointless to try knowing he was going to fell but he had to. The weapon would weaken the Beast. Maybe this would buy his kin time to stop him for good.
He could only hope so…
