The Albion of the Sky

Chapter One: Prologue Part 1 (Crafting The Sword)

A documentation to my time in the lower world.

It had been three days since the King and Queen of my pantheon forced a decade long vacation leave upon me.

It was not appreciated.

Regardless, I have ten years to spend in the lower world. I could probably shorten this force vacation leave with reason, but for now, I will not test my parents.

In the three days that I have descended, I have taken a boy to be my child.

Bell Cranel is a peculiar mortal. He possesses a unique soul.

The boy possesses a soul that I have never seen in my long, immortal existence.

I am intrigue.

I wonder what I could turn that boy into.

Considering the strength and quality of his soul, he would be very special with the right guidance.

He had already shown some quality.

After removing the foul pollution upon his immaculate soul, he regain consciousness after two days of rest.

Considering the fact that he had been a sick and weak child for the entirety of his life, his entire four years of existence, that is impressive.

After regaining consciousness, the boy cried a bit, which is understandable. He did lose the life that he knew.

After the boy got a good cry out, he proceeded to use the blessing that I bestowed upon him and began burying the remains of the people of his village.

Again, quite impressive.

As a soldier, as a God of War, I approve giving those who deserve it proper burials, regardless of the state of the body.

I helped my child by crafting good headstones for the dead, for those who shared this community with him.

It's the least I could.

This little activity marks our first God-Child bonding experience.

Log #4

My child, Bell Cranel, is currently physically weak.

Again, understandable. He suffered quite the curse since the day of his birth, resulting in him having an illness that basically made him an invalid.

Being bedridden for the first four years of his life, it is to be expected that he has very low energy, even with my blessing, even with his soul.

Well, nothing like a good old fashion training and conditioning could fix.

Bell Cranel would hate me after the drills that I would put him through.

Log #10

If there is one thing us Gods succeeded on, one crowning achievement that we could be proud of, it is bestowing willpower to mortals.

The willpower of mortals is awe-inspiring.

Bell Cranel had been my child for four months.

For four months, we had been exploring the continent together.

In those four months, I have been putting Bell Cranel through so many drills and exercises that I am genuinely impress that he has not complained yet.

Not a single complain has left his mouth regardless of the hours upon hours of drills that I had him execute.

Of course, the drills that I had him doing is age appropriate. More than that, it would hinder his body growth and development, and that curse of his had already done enough damage as it is.

I must slowly and thoroughly build Bell Cranel's body up from the ground up.

Bell Cranel is lucky that I am a blacksmith. I am used to working with unfinished and unfurnished materials.

Of course, the rebuilding processing is not going to be fun.

Far from it.

Regardless, no matter how many laps I had Bell Cranel run, no matter how may push-ups, sit-ups, and any other exercises that I deem he need to do, he never complains. He just performed it with a smile on his face.

Quite impressive, very impressive even.

I will reward him appropriately for being a good soldier.

I cannot wait till the day he is fit enough to learn how to fight.

Log #12

I have begun teaching Bell Cranel the art of Blacksmithing.

Of all the concepts my divinity covers, I love blacksmithing the most.

Nothing beats looking at the fruits of hours, even days, or even sometimes months of your hard labor.

The sight of a fully forge weapon, there is nothing better.

I adore and appreciate the art called blacksmithing.

Bell Cranel, my one and only child, did not.

But I expected as much.

Bell Cranel is still a child. Blacksmithing is a very niche art and science, and the child has yet to develop the intellect and maturity to appreciate this particular craft.

Currently, my child wanted nothing more than to perform drills, to run, to exert energy, and enjoy his new found health.

I can understand that, but learning this craft is important, and I will not budge on this topic.

Bell Cranel will learn how to forge steel, and he will thank me for it someday.

That being said, I appreciated the fact that the boy is still making an attempt to learn blacksmithing even though he was struggling to understand my lessons on the topic.

He is still participating in the lesson, and if he is willing to learn and participate, onwards and upwards we go.

Again, he will thank me for this one day.

Log #15

My child, Bell Cranel, possesses a beautiful singing voice.

That, together with his, admittedly adorable appearance, equates to profit.

A lot of profit.

I am currently profiting from said talent.

I maintained that we should have mugged some drunk pricks to get funds while we stay in this village, but to each his own, I guess.

My child would make for a good bard.

That being said, there are some mortal garbage that are eyeing my child in an untoward way.

I am going to mug them. Probably going to get a good amount valis after mugging them.

Log #22

It has been six months since I was force to descend to the lower world.

It has been six months since I took Bell Cranel as my child.

It has been six months since I began rebuilding the body of my child.

Six months, and his conditioning and health are now within acceptable parameters.

I began his combat training.

Early observations yield mixed results.

Bell Cranel does not have an aptitude or even talent for combat. He is uncoordinated, overexcitable, and it takes him a few tries to perform the simplest of attacks correctly. Also, he has little to no combat instincts, and his reflexes is horrendous.

Worse, he is too kind for serious fighting.

Bell Cranel has a romantic view of fighting engrave in his head, and that would get him killed in the field.

I was reminded that my child wanted to be a hero.

Of all the things that he wanted to pursue!

On the other hand, Bell Cranel is a very eager and quick learner. He is also hardworking, willing to practice until he masters the skill properly. He is also very observant, a boon in a melee that involves many combatants.

His footwork is also excellent for a beginner. Body control is also good for someone who had never been in a fight in his life.

Again, mixed bag results.

But its more good than bad.

Bell Cranel's mindset in combat, I could change that.

His coordination, I could hone it.

His overeagerness, I could hammer that out of him.

His reflexes, I could sharpen.

Yes, Bell Cranel was a not a born warrior. He has neither the talent or the aptitude of a warrior. He will never be a natural fighter.

But he is willing to learn how to fight. His is eager to learn to fight.

Bell Cranel is a fast learner and a quick study, attributes that probably offset his lack of talent in combat.

And I consider that a godsend.

I prefer hard workers over talented mortals.

Bell Cranel would not be a warrior. He would make a bad warrior.

A soldier though...

That is a different case.

Log #30

Bell Cranel's soul is magnificent.

And he is lucky that he has an ability to weaponized his soul.

He might not be a natural-born fighter and his mindset about fighting is crippling, but with his ability to wield his soul, he would be formidable.

That said, Bell Cranel's soul is too 'heavy' for his body to utilized to its full extent.

It's going to take years for him to develop a body to handle the sheer magnitude of his soul.

Lucky for him, I am his patron God.

As a blacksmith, this is not my first time developing a weapon that needs to contain tremendous power.

And, fortunately, the material that I am working with is malleable and sturdy.

I am beginning to have fun.

Log #33

It has been a year since I descended from the heavens and took Bell Cranel as my child.

To celebrate the anniversary of my descent, I had my child participate in his first serious fight.

I had him fight two opponents.

One monster. One human.

The results were surprising.

The discovery that I made was surprising.

My child won. That is to be expected.

Bell Cranel still has a rudimentary style of fighting. He still has not reached an ideal level of prowess in the most basics of fighting techniques.

That said, my child's footwork is remarkable, he knows how to create distance between himself and his adversary, and he is very quick footed.

Also, his Skill [Dominus] came in clutch.

Again, a skill that can weaponize the soul and directly bypass a God's falna is a remarkable tool.

That said, what surprised me the most is discovering what talent my child us born with.

….Fate is cruel.

To bestow a child as kind as mine the talent and aptitude of a killer.

I want to laugh and despair.

My child was born into this world to kill.

Fate is truly cruel.

Log #37

I am going to teach Bell Cranel how to be an assassin.

I know… I know.

I deserved to burn in Pokol for this decision.

My child is born with a talent that his heart is ill equip to handle.

But that does not change what he is.

Bell Cranel is a natural born killer.

His inborn instinct is for killing. His aptitude in combat is to kill.

For me not to harness that would be criminal.

And quite frankly, with his heart, Bell Cranel would live a longer life if he truly develops his talents as a killer.

Bell Cranel is a child with a kind heart.

Better for that heart to have a dagger in its back to protect itself from the world.

The world, this world is cruel.

Log #44

A year and a half in the lower world, and I found myself involve in a war.

Fuck it.

Of all the concepts my divinity covers, I hate being a God of War the most.

I hate war. I am good at it, but I hate it.

Its very unfortunate that I cannot say no to a friend.

It is also fortunate that I am not going to fight in this war.

I am just going to be forging weapons.

Still, I am going to have Bell involve himself in a few skirmishes is this war.

That is going to sharpen his fighting and killing abilities, it would make him apply the lessons that I teach him practically, and it would teach him a valuable lesson.

War is Hell, and there is no better teacher to teach him of that fact than an actual war.

Log #49

I was correct in my initial assumption.

Bell Cranel would make for a horrible warrior.

But as a soldier, he is already showing promise.

The difference between a warrior and a soldier is simple.

Warriors fight with passion. Soldiers fight with logic.

Warriors win battles. Soldiers win war.

And as my child stood over the dead general of the opposing army, with a bloody knife in hand and a haunted look in his eyes, I was filled with pride.

The lesson was learned and my assumptions were proven.

Bell Cranel is not just a born killer.

He is also a born soldier.

Log #51

My child just leveled up,

A Developmental Ability called [Assassin] was available to him.

I decided not to give him that ability.

He just fought in a war for four months, and I am not going to remind him that he was a naturally born killer after going through the war.

Still, if that ability ever appeared again, I am giving it to him.

Still, Runecraft would benefit him more in the long run.

Raising his magic stats is difficult because he's is unable to acquire magic. To be honest, he doesn't need magic because of Dominus, but he had been developing that stat due to him having the ability to create magic items.

My child is quite adept in making magic items. He is creative in this craft if nothing else

Still, raising his magic stats is slow compare to his ability to increase his other stats.

Runecraft would change that.

Also, this ability would allow me to teach him how to enhance weapons and embed magic in his forging.

Bell Cranel is slowly developing a liking to the science and art of black smithing.

I would be a poor patron if I do not encourage this development.

Log #58

The first skill that my child ever developed is [Avatar].

The ability to materialized the soul, to shape and use by one's will.

I have never seen this ability before.

The bread-and-butter skill of my child is Dominus.

Elemental Sight is also worth mentioning as an auxiliary/support skill.

I have never seen [Avatar] get triggered.

Well, until today.

Bell Cranel's soul is truly one of kind.

Imagine, having such a soul with such potency and weight that it could birth a spirit.

Freya would love this boy.

Log #64

It is truly unfortunate that my child was born with the talent for killing.

His talent is truly incompatible with his heart.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how much Bell Cranel is uncomfortable with his talent.

He was born to kill, he has an aptitude for killing, he has the reflexes of a killer.

And I cannot train his nature out of him.

So, I compromise with him.

I gave him a name.

I told him to set aside the name that his mother gave him, disregard the name his father left him.

If he ever kills, or finds the need to kill, he will carry a different name.

If he ever finds the need to kill, he will wear the name that I gave him.

Every time he kills, he will not be Bell Cranel.

He will simply be Albion.

Log #67

I do not have the best relationship with the Greek Pantheon.

In fact, they hate me.

I don't blame them.

The last interaction I had with them involved me tearing a part a good chunk of their lower to mid-level gods to pieces.

Some of those Greek Gods are still putting themselves together.

I also ripped Hermes to pieces.

Last I heard, he just completed piecing himself together.

Yeah, I am not the most popular God with the Greeks.

That said, I have always been cordial with Artemis.

We run with the same circle of Gods after all.

Still, it is quite awkward to spend some time with her and her familia.

I am not fond of being looked at by a bunch of mortals as if I am sinning by merely standing near Artemis.

Don't get me wrong, she is very pretty, breathtaking even.

But…

Artemis is like my best friend, Freya.

There destined partner have already been determined by Fate, and they know the names of those partners.

For Freya, it is Odr.

For Artemis, it is Orion.

Freya, since the time I've known her and even before, have search for her destined partner.

Artemis, though I have known her for less, have searched for hers, though not as frantically as Freya.

Freya's advantage over Artemis is that she is a Goddess of Love and Sex.

She'll find could and would find partners to satisfy her urges.

Artemis is the Goddess of Chasity. She won't give her virtue to anyone but her destined partner.

That being said, I am not comfortable with the way Artemis is looking at my Eight Years old child.

Even if he is destined to be her Orion, he is fucking eight.

On a side note….

Fate should not be cruel enough to bestow the soul of a Gods destined mate to a mortal.

Any romance that involved mortals and Gods, tend to end tragically.

Log #72

Holy shit, I thought we were done with the Titans.

I thought the Greeks ended those fuckers eons ago.

I was fucking there when Zeus struck down Typhoon.

But lo and behold, a fucking Titan.

Of course, luckily, this thing, Antares or something, is merely a drop of blood from a titan that developed sentience.

If I have access to most of my Arcanum, this thing would be incinerated within a millisecond.

Unfortunately, I do not.

Of course, I could use a burst of Arcanum to burn this thing to ash, but no…Not yet.

After all, I could not deprive my child the opportunity to use his [Avatar] for the first time.

For the first time, [Dominus] failed him.

For the first time, in the defense of Artemis and what remained of her familia, [Dragon Soul] is at full power.

For the first time, I get a glimpsed of what my child could be capable of.

(Scene Change)

"Hadúr…" Artemis called to her fellow God.

"Artemis…" Hadúr greeted cordially as he deposited Bell to a wagon that the two were using to traverse the continent for four years now. "Have you buried your dead yet?" Hadúr inquired as he made sure that Bell was comfortable.

Artemis closed her eyes before nodding. "Thank you for the tombstones."

"You're welcome." Hadúr said as he turned around to face the Moon Goddess. "You have something to say?"

Artemis nodded. "Give him to me."

The Sword of Attila appeared in Hadúr's hand in a flash of copper flames.

Immediately, Artemis had raised her bow and an arrow was notch and aimed at Hadúr.

"I think we both know how a fight between us would end." Hadúr said lazily, his sword held loosely in his right hand.

"I am stronger than you." Artemis stated confidently.

"You are…" Hadúr conceded. "And when I was going through the Greek Pantheon due 'Lover's Quarrel', a good chunk of Greek Gods that stood before me were also more powerful and/or stronger than me. If memory serves me right, those Gods that went against me were annihilated, and Zeus had to pull his dick out from his latest conquest to negotiate with me to prevent me from gutting another one of the Olympian 12. You should remember that. You were there."

Artemis could only stare coldly at Hadúr. "He is Orion. I need him." Artemis declared desperately.

"He is two months removed from his eight name day, and you are mourning." Hadúr countered callously. "Before you declare that my child is the mate that Fate promised you, mourned properly for your children and wait for him to grow into a man."

Artemis narrowed her eyes in both outrage and impatient. "I am not going to take a child into my bed."

"You are a Greek. Sexual deviancy runs through your veins." Hadúr shot back.

*SWISH*

*SLASH*

Artemis fired an arrow at Hadúr.

Hadúr cut the arrow in half with a flick of his risk.

Artemis glared at him as she aimed another arrow at Hadúr.

Hadúr gave her an exasperated stare.

"That one was for free. The next one, we will fight, and if we do, this is what's going to happen…" Hadúr gave the Goddess of the Moon a threatening stare. "I will send you up to heaven in five minutes, and the rest of your girls will follow you in two." Hadúr promised as he leveled his sword at the Greek Goddess. "…Do you really want to do this?"

The two Gods stared each other down for a long minute before Artemis lowered her bow and arrow.

Seeing this, Hadúr returned his sword back to his armory.

"I need him." Artemis stated in a whisper as she gazed at the slumbering Bell with longing and grief.

Hadúr sighed.

Gods, selfish and unreasonable by their very nature.

"I will return to heaven in six years…" Hadúr told Artemis. "In six years, he will be 14 years old, a man, and you would have grieved your children properly. Tell me where you will be in six years' time, and I will have him go your way." Hadúr promised the Maiden Goddess. "If you still feel the same way six years from now, go ahead, take him as your lover. But if whatever affection you have for him disappeared in your next meeting, do me a favor and promise me that you will be his ally." Hadúr compromised.

Artemis perked up at that offer and gave Hadúr a searching look.

Hadúr merely sigh.

"I swear upon Pokol…"

A burst of flames covered Hadúr at that declaration.

Artemis' eyes widen at the use of that ceremony.

Artemis, regardless of her grief and new found need for her destined mate, returned the courtesy.

"I swear upon Tartarus…"

A burst of flame covered Artemis.

"In six years…Where…"

"Orario…"

Another chapter of this kind of format before we head to the story proper.

Artemis would be added to Bell's Harem, and that is that, Eight Girls.

Bell X Ryuu X Cassandra X Haruhime X Ais X Freya/Syr X Horn X Artemis.

Also, sorry for the grammar. My place (Baguio City Philippines) was hit by a typhoon, and I finished this in a tablet under a flashlight. When the power gets back, I will proof read this chapter.
