LOG # 80

There is one specific difference between Gods and Mortals.

This difference is what separates Gods from Mortals as a species.

This difference is simple.

Gods conquered Death.

Mortals conquered Fate.

Gods would never die. Best case scenario, us Gods could inflict damage upon our fellow Gods to a point that it would take them decades, millenniums even, for them to regain their sentience.

Mortals die, plain and simple, at least their bodies and mind would. After mortals die, us Gods would repurpose their souls into a new body, basically refreshing their ego.

In the reincarnation process, the quality of the soul can be reduced or it could increase, it deepens on the strength of the mortal the previously held the soul.

Us Gods, we do not have a reincarnation process.

We have a regeneration process.

Immortality, that is what separates us from Mortals.

The ability of mortals to defy and change their Fate, that is what separates Mortals from Gods.

Every being that was, is, and would be has a certain path that they would live. Ever sentient being has a Fate that they would have to live.

Us Gods, we are shackled to our Fate. We are slaves to our Fate.

Mortals are not.

I do not know how or why. I do not know what happened when us Gods created Mortals, but it appears that we had unknowingly given our greatest creations the ability to bypass their destined Fate.

The single ability that all Mortals possessed, we Gods envy.

Us Gods, we are powerful. The things we could do, mortals would never comprehend.

But that ability, the ability to not be enslaved by a foreign and unknowing power…

I would give up my immortality to have that.

This ability, to defy Fate, was shown when my child defeated Antares to prevent the destruction of the Artemis Familia and the temporary subjugation of Artemis.

When this creature was in the process of decimating her familia, I could see the anguish and despair in Artemis' eyes.

I could also see the hateful acceptance in her eyes.

So, when my dearest child summoned a storm strong enough to vanquish Antares, the look of utter surprised was evident in Artemis.

Only a mortal, with a strong will, could alter the Fate of Gods.

My child, my Bell Cranel, possesses such will.

It was such a sight to behold. A mortal defying Fate. For Fate to have to rewrite its schemes for a God.

Such a beautiful sight.

Hopefully, Fate would not be cruel to my child.

Hopefully, he is not Orion, the fated lover of Artemis.

Gods and Mortals should never join in holy matrimony.

It would only end in heartbreak for both parties.

LOG # 84

Once upon a time, I had a lover.

Like me, she was a God.

She is, to me, the most beautiful Goddess in heaven.

Considering that I am best friends with a Goddess of Beauty, that is saying something.

Freya never forgave me when I told her that my beloved is more beautiful than her.

She is petty like that.

The two of us were lovers for eons. I think we were happy together.

She gave me eons worth of happiness.

Said relations ended two millenniums ago.

I do not know why she ended our relationship. I do not know why she ended it in such a way that half of the Greek Pantheon came at me.

(By the way, as a result of their stupidity, most of those Gods ended up needing centuries to put themselves back together.)

I do not know what happened between us that necessitates her breaking my heart.

But what's done is done.

It was done.

I cherish the eons that we shared together, and a considerable part of me still adores her.

The memories that she gave me were irreplaceable.

That is why, as my child slowly develops his fighting style, a part of me could not help but feel both nostalgic and teary.

Bell Cranel is developing a fighting style that is defined by three things.

Evasive.

Adaptive.

Creative.

Bell Cranel is developing a fighting style that is very similar to my old flame.

Yeah…

Fate is cruel.

LOG # 92

I was correct in my assumption.

Bell Cranel had turned into a fantastic soldier.

All it took was six years of training.

His combat ability still needs work. He is decent in fighting in my perspective, but compare to the other facet of his skillset as a soldier, his combat ability is lagging.

His ability to kill is praise worthy. Seriously, I have never seen a mortal with such raw talent and ability in murder.

It is unfortunate that his heart is truly incompatible with his greatest talent, but at least he knows how to kill his heart when necessary.

Killing ability aside, Bell's other skillset as a soldier is also worth complimenting.

As a scout, he is elite.

As a tracker, he is elite.

As a bowman, a sniper, he is elite.

As a calvary, he is elite.

As a foot soldier, his ability to fight in formation, he is elite.

But…

He excelled at two things that only a handful of soldiers thrive in.

As a saboteur, he is excellent

As a trapper, he is equally elite.

A few days ago, my child, my Bell decimated an army through traps and sabotages alone, across 80 miles worth of forestry.

He did not engage the enemy. He did not brandish a single weapon, yet a total of 418 hostiles are now dead.

I have never been so proud of him.

LOG # 97

I have never been fond of any of the Oriental Pantheons.

They are too formal.

They are too stiff.

The are too conservatives.

Oriental Gods are too difficult for me to interact with.

They are honorable though.

And that specific aspect is why I allowed an acquittance of mine from an Oriental Pantheon to drag me to a war in a land that mortals in this world called the Far East.

At the very least, I could give Bell firsthand experience in learning Oriental Blacksmithing techniques.

Say what you will about the Orientals, but they can do so much with very little.

Also, I think it's wise for Bell to sharpen his killing talents with other assassins.

The Orientals are very honorable, but they are quite deadly in the war of shadows.

LOG # 100

It is now time for me to have the 'talk' with my child.

Fucking shit… I really do not want to have this kind of discussion with my child.

But I must.

Seriously…. Serious fuckingly…

I know for a fact that Bell would grow into a beautiful man.

I know for a fact that he possesses looks that is simply enchanting. His possesses an appearance that would rival that of Gods, even Gods of Love and Beauty.

I know that. I accepted that. I had Bell trained with a friend of mine that is also a Goddess of Love and Sex to give him some resistance against the fairer sex, and even those with the same sex as him.

I had to threaten said Goddess with Atilla when she tried earnestly to sleep with him….

For fuck sakes, Bell was eight at that time.

But I digress…

I do not want to have this talk with my child, but I must.

If I do not have this talk with my child, he would grow up to be a philanderer.

And he would be a very successful philanderer.

My child, my Bell is a very charming and honest young man, and with his looks, he could have anyone in his bed if he wanted to.

If he would fuck and run, I would leave the matter be, but Bell does not have that nature.

If Bell would impregnate a woman, he would take responsibility.

A praise worthy trait that many would take advantage of.

It is really difficult to have such goodhearted child.

On a side note, I do not like how that Blonde Renard is looking at my child.

She is a princess in this land, and the nobilities in this country has too much power for my taste.

The pretty little girl might entrap my child and make him her plaything, and that is unacceptable.

Unacceptable.

LOG # 106

My dear child, my Bell Cranel took a city.

In taking said city, he killed 415 enemy combatants.

A few days later, he held the city.

In holding the city, he killed 1,217 enemy combatants.

My child took a city and a held a city with a landmass of 171 square smiles.

He took and held the city in his own, with minimal civilian casualties.

He took the city in under a day.

He held the city for three days.

On his own.

I am very impress.

LOG # 111

Us Gods are the source of all the evils in the world.

Considering the nature of Gods, that is fact.

Gods are neither good or evil.

Gods merely exists with a set of purposes, a set of aspects that Fate assigned to them.

Those aspects can be good, it can be evil, but by the end of the day, us God barely care.

We Gods exist, and depending on the situation, we can be good or we can be evil.

Hence; we are the source of all the world's good and all the world's evil.

I do not judge a mortal for their deeds, whether they be good or evil.

I am a God, I have committed more goods than anyone could comprehend. Inversely, I have committed more evils than anyone could even begin to fathom.

Considering one of my aspects is war, is understandable.

Still, for a father to sell her daughter to slavery, that is a special kind of evil that even I find distasteful.

Fortunately for said girl, she was acquainted with my child.

She is the little Renard girl that took a shine to my child.

She was lucky that my child noticed her, and she was lucky that she had developed a bond with my child.

The slaughter that my child unleash on those slavers was something to behold.

The anger of a storm is something to behold.

My good mood though soured at the way the child was looking at me.

The little fox wants me to take her in.

Adorable…

I want to skin this sinful creature so much.

I am not going to have a girl within arm's reach of my child that would sooner make him a father than be useful in his development.

My child will not be a father at the age of ten.

Takemikazuchi dragged me to this conflict, I am going to drop a problem on his lap in return.

The fucker owes me.

In the meantime, my child is planning to go scorch earth on the Sanjouno family.

I am going to make a lesson out of this.

There is an art to this kind of destruction.

LOG # 114

Returning to the continent after six months in the Far East is a relief.

My child got himself a good amount of experience in warfare and in assassination, and he is slowly accepting the fact that his talent for killing could be used for good.

I emphasize that said good should be define by him and him alone.

He had also made great strides in his education in blacksmithing.

He enjoyed learning the Oriental style of blacksmithing.

I knew that he would develop fondness in the art of blacksmithing, and he is making remarkable strides in his forging.

The swords, the weapons that he created were a boon in every battle that he participated in during our stay in the Far East.

His weapons were magnificent.

His magic items were lethal.

His magic swords were work of art.

If I succeeded in nothing else, I inspire Bell in pursuing a craft that leans towards creations.

Yes, most of the tools that my child creates are meant for war, for destruction, for killing, but creation is creation, no matter how it is use.

Mortals should know this better than anyone.

Still, my child just went to war. Before I threw him to the next lesson, he and I are going to have some rest and relaxation.

He earned it after six months of war.

LOG # 119

Since I took Bell Cranel as my child, there is one word that could aptly describe him.

Happy.

Bell Cranel is a happy mortal.

He cherished every single second of his life. He cherished every single breath that he takes.

He was sick as a child, and, according to him, with how badly that cursed wrecked his body, he did not expect to live past the age of six.

He is now ten years old, and he is alive.

That fact alone made Bell Cranel very happy.

For six years that he was under my care, Bell is a happy child.

Said happiness evaporated momentarily when a Familiar Dragon flew overhead on top of us.

I have never seen such fear in the eyes of my child before, and I had thrown him against monsters, both mortals and otherwise, stronger and more skilled than him, and at situations that would have killed him if he was careless.

Also, I have never seen him express such hatred and rage before, and I have exposed him to all the evils that I could expose him to, no matter the magnitude.

He gazed at that Black Dragon with fear and rage that I, as a God of War, could taste it.

And I understood it.

This Dragon is this era's walking calamity, a force of nature that could level cities and end civilizations on a whim.

This is the One-Eyed Black Dragon, and Bell wanted to fight it.

I held him back.

This is not a fight that he could win.

Bell actually glared at me.

This shown of defiance made me happy.

This is the first time that he opposed me.

Still, I held firm. Bell would not fight this creature. I did not teach this boy to involve himself in fights that he has no chance in winning.

If he has a one percent chance of slaying that monstrosity, I would let him take a swing.

But right here, right now, he has no chance.

So, I held my child in place, put a barrier of flames over us to prevent the Dragon from seeing us, and I did not allow my child to move a single inch until the Dragon flew completely pass us.

As the Dragon flew over us, my child shrugged my gripped and went running to where the Dragon flew from.

I already know what he was going to see.

(Scene Change)

"How many?" Hadúr inquired while his child dug graves for the bodies that he found, intending to give them a burial.

Arriving at the city from where the One-Eyed Black Dragon flew from, both Hadúrand Bell was greeted by a wasteland.

Destruction in a level that Bell could not comprehend, and demonic Flames as far as the eyes could see burning everything into ash.

Hadúrhad to use his Arcanum to extinguish the flames of the Black Dragon, which allowed Bell to search for any mortal remains that were scattered in the desolated city.

Bell had been in enough battles to know that this level of destruction would not yield any survivors.

At best, there would be decent bodies to put in a grave.

Searing a total landmass of 105 square miles, Bell found five bodies in decent condition for a burial.

The rest of the residence in the city are probably ashes.

Bell did not answer. Instead, he asked a question of his own.

"Thant thing, could I kill it?" Bell inquired as he continued digging a grave.

He did not want to look at his God.

Bell feared the answer that he would receive from the eyes of the God that he viewed as his father.

Hadúracknowledges this, contemplated seriously, before answering.

"I will pave the way for you to kill that thing." Hadúrswore.

Bell smiled at that answer.

Bell did not know who is father is, quite frankly, he did not care who his birth father is.

This may be arrogant of him, but in his perspective, his father is Hadúr.

LOG # 123

Having a tangible goal can do wonders for one's growth.

After seeing the creature that destroyed the previous life that he knew, Bell grew determined to grow strong enough to kill it.

I will help him achieve that goal.

I increased the intensity of his training, and Bell welcomed it.

He is determined to slay that calamity.

Good.

But I will need to teach Bell a particularly difficult lesson.

Revenge is good.

Holding a grudge is good.

Grudges should be satisfied, and revenge should be accomplished.

I will not condemn my child in his pursuit to avenge the home that the Black Dragon took from him, but I will also not allow this goal to fully consume him.

My goal for my child is for him to be happy.

If killing that dragon would make him happy, I will gladly help him achieve that dream.

But after satisfying his vengeance, I want him to have a life.

Short, long, it doesn't matter. The moment that Dragon dies by his hands, Bell Cranel will have a life after his vengeance, and it would be a happy one.

LOG # 127

It appears that seeing that Dragon made Bell embraced his most ardent talent.

Or at least made him willing to developed it further.

Also, it seems that the sight of the Dragon made Bell desire to shed blood.

I have never seen my child willingly enter a conflict.

Normally, I had to tell him to participate in a conflict.

This is the first time that he participated in a conflict on his own.

He was task to cull four Familias.

They are ravaging a merchant city, and the civilian populace were getting abuse, malign, and exploited, and the City Leaders wanted those Familias to be gone.

Bell answered the call, and he did the one thing that he was born to do.

He killed.

Two hours, four Familias extinguished, 134 mortals dead.

Not bad for two hours of work.

On a side note, I personally sent those four Gods back to heaven.

The backlog to their respective Pantheons is staggering already.

LOG # 132

Friends, they can be a blessing or a curse. Sometimes both.

Since descending to the lower world, the friendship that I made in my long existence seems to be leaning towards curse than blessings.

Another dear friend of mine dragged me to another war.

Fucking shit, this is my third war in seven years.

Worse, still, I am being ask to see this war to its completion.

Worse than that, the majority of the fighters are elves.

I am not amused.

Elves are complicated Mortals.

They are the second beings that we Gods created, only behind the Spirits.

They are the first mortals that we Gods created.

They are gifted with beauty and great potential in magic.

They are also inherently arrogant and prideful.

Elves are naturally full of themselves, oozing with self-righteousness and self-importance.

In short, Elves are natural born pricks.

I do not react well to pricks.

I was tempted to deny my friend.

Seriously, I do not want to participate in a fucking war

Still….

Since descending, I have participated in two wars.

In the first one, I participated as a mere blacksmith, equipping my allies with weapons.

In the second one, I participated as an advisor.

In this one, I am being ask to be the lead tactician, meaning, I could use Bell to his fullest capacity in this conflict.

His growth would be remarkable, and he could growtto a Level 4 that matches our standard.

Still….

I have to work with elves…

Fuck it….

Doing it…

This is going to be a fucking long year.

LOG # 136

Working with Elves is like pulling teeth.

Painful, arduous, complicated, and exhausting all around.

Rule number when building an army:

DO. NOT. RECRUIT. PRICKS.

Or if a prick is required, make sure the prick is competent.

The current army that I am currently working with as the head tactician are full of pricks, and only a handful are fucking useful.

Fuck my life.

On the other hand, Bell is thriving in the war.

I cannot have him lead a force.

Bell is an excellent soldier, but he is a horrendous leader.

He is not a bad leader because he cannot inspire comrades. He is not a horrendous leader because he has no charisma. He is not a horrible leader because he cannot strategize before or during a fight.

No…

My child, my Bell is very inspirational.

Bell can be quite charismatic in a childish, endearing way.

And Bell is a good strategize, especially if the strategy involves murder.

No, Bell is a horrible leader because he will not, he will never, sacrifice anyone or anything for the sake of the mission.

As a leader, especially in war, sacrifices must be made, and Bell will never make those sacrifices.

As a soldier, that is his fatal flaw.

Another reason why he would make for a bad leader…

He is too damn good of a field operative to be held down by a leadership position.

It would be a complete lost if Bell would not touch the battlefield.

It would be stupid if Bell would not be the point of the spear.

I created a good soldier.

If only this army of pricks is worthy of him, I would be happy.

LOG # 140

My child is developing a fetish for elves.

I am going to beat it out of him the next time we spar.

Still, it is very surprising that Bell is having positive rapport with the locals.

Especially with the ruling class.

Elves are pricks.

High Elves more so. In fact, High Elves are cunts.

In the hierarchy of cunts, the High Elves stood alone on the top of the cunt pyramid.

That is why Bell having a somewhat friendly relations with some of the ruling class is genuinely surprising.

Normally, Elves, regardless of species, detested humans. Normally, Elves see humans as slightly above animals.

The fact the Bell can have a casual and civil relationship with one of the High Elven Princess is quite baffling

Scratch that… It's not baffling. Its amusing and irritating.

I almost forgot that behind that boyish smile and innocent naivety is a born lady-killer.

As his patron God, I must make sure that he won't use that ability for evil.

Time to teach my child some discipline.

LOG # 143

I never exposed Bell to a full war.

There were situations in which we could have stayed in a single area to see a war to its end.

Fortunately, and I do mean fortunately, at that time, Bell was not ready to experience the full horror of war.

The first time I involved us in a war, he and I were auxiliary support. Yes, he joined a few battles, but only as a runner, with minimal chances for combat. He assassinated commanders and generals here and there, but during his first experience in war, he did not see the full horrors of war.

After that, I had involved Bell into numerous battles and skirmishes throughout the continent.

For a significantly small piece of land, there were many wars scattered throughout this continent. It's easy for me to give Bell combat experience with the numerous conflicts happening throughout the land.

Regardless of the many wars that we came across, I never committed Bell to a single war. I never had Bell fight a conflict pass two to three skirmishes. Four skirmishes were pushing it.

Our adventure in the Far East was an exception. Bell fought in a dozen skirmishes but the conflict in that land was already ending.

For the first time, I had Bell committed to a conflict.

I had my child committed to a war.

And I could see the toll that it was taking on him.

War is cruel.

The battles are cruel.

What happens before and after the battles are cruel'

And I want Bell to learn this lesson well.

For cruelty is kindness upon ourselves.

For ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves

LOG # 148

I despised working with Athena.

Actually, despise is an understatement.

I loathe working with her.

She is extremely complicated and very aggravating to work with.

Unfortunately for me, the kingdom that I am temporarily fighting for and Athena's little country in the lower world are allies.

I wanted to laugh.

When the enemy's armies were marching, when swords were clashing, Altena, Athena's little city, did not send a single combatant.

They sent a missive stating that this conflict was not theirs's to fight.

Athena is fucking cunt.

But when the conflict reached them, when the enemy army marched on their doorstep, Athena had the audacity to demand support.

Yeah…

No…

If I had my way, I will send the bitch back to heaven, put her city to the torch, and put her people to the stake.

You do not abandon allies during war, regardless of the convivence.

Alliances, treaties, they must be uphold at all cost, especially during trying times.

The military was with me.

May I add that it was a relief to have finally righted this army.

It took Bell and I a few months, but I finally earned the respect of these pricks, and they are now obeying my orders dutifully. They are still whining and complaining at times, but they at least trust me now to lead them and win this war with as little casualties on our side as possible.

Small victories.

And due to that trust, I am not willing to march this Kingdom's army to help an ally that did not even offer token assistance during the start of the conflict.

Doing that would be dumb.

And the king of this Kingdom ordered me to do that dumb thing.

Insert groaned here.

Politics. The bane of my existence.

I could leave this conflict anytime I want.

I hate the king of this Kingdom. He is another cunt, and I dislike dealing with cunts.

This King is the king of cunts.

But, I am a professional, and I do not abandon the wars that I committed myself to.

Fine, I will help that witch and her bitches, but dammit that witch is going to pay out of pocket for this assistance.

Although, I made a mental note to tell Bell to be liberal with the storm that he is going to hit Altena with.

LOG # 151

A year in as I took this job for this Kingdom, I would declare that this war is done.

I have won.

We have won.

Of course, the conflict is still at full tilt. Our enemy is still marching in droves upon this land.

But this war is all but won.

The reason, simple.

Bell Cranel had reached the end of his patience.

The enemy had finally angered my child to the point that he was now determined to make them bleed.

Do not anger a kind man.

For their rage has always been catastrophic.

And the rage of this kind man is a typhoon.

LOG # 155

Bell came to me with a request.

The request was his intention to hit the homeland of the enemy.

This mission was for four months.

He intends to go do this mission alone.

I approved of his request.

Losing him in the field would damage morale. He had become quite popular with the locals, and even those from Altena had begun to like him.

Considering that he is human and a male, it spoke volumes on how magnetic his personality is.

Still, the lost of morale would be worth it.

This war would end in three months.

The look in my child's eyes spoke volumes on what he intends to do to the enemy.

LOG # 159

When Bell left to enact his scheme, he left me a gift.

He carved and decimated a good portion of the enemy army that were on our grounds.

Qutie a parting gift and an acceptable offering.

It took a month before a word about my Bell reach my ears.

Athena, in a rare moment of civility, informed me that Bell captured and leveled a city in our enemy's home soil.

Bell butchered every single residence of said city.

I merely smiled at that.

A storm does not discriminate, especially when in a rage.

And Bell was in a quite a rage.

LOG # 161

After the first news of my child had reach me, subsequent information of Bell's activities began arriving.

News of Bell going wild on enemy territory began to be the talk of the town.

Cities and villages leveled and burned.

High level and high priority personnel being found desecrated in gutters.

Communities being culled to a man.

Bell is doing work like a wrath of a God.

Importantly though, Bell Cranel is single handedly preventing resources, from food to weapons to other essentials, from reaching the enemy army.

Logistics is the nightmare of any army, especially one this big.

LOG # 165

Three months since Bell left, the enemy army had finally left the shores of this kingdom and Altena.

The war had ended.

A month after the war had ended, Bell returned, and he did not return empty handed.

A slew of people came with him.

Countless civilians from this kingdom and Altena that were displace during the war, and soldiers and military personnel that were captured during the conflict, he brought them back home.

Spoils of war amounting to billions were also given equally to the kingdom and to Altena.

Bell returned and was cheered and celebrated as Hero.

He looked like he wanted to remove his head as people cheer his name.

(Scene Change)

"How was it?" Hadúrinquired as he watches Bell hammer and forge a weapon.

Bell began shaping a billet of steel to the shape and form that he wanted it to take. Regardless though, he answered. "It was horrible." Bell said honestly as tears slowly fell down his eyes. "I was evil. I killed so many. I destroyed so many. I broke so many people." Bell elaborated with a haunted look.

"I was evil."

Hadúrnodded empathetically.

"Did you regret any of your actions?" Hadúrinquired as he approached his child.

Bell shook his head; tears still present in his eyes. "They deserved it." Bell said as he removed the billet from the anvil and returned it to the forge to reheat the metal. "All of them deserved what I did to them."

Hadúr placed a hand on his child's soldier. "Then let that be the end of it."

LOG # 172

Leaving the kingdom that I lead to war for a year and a half was easy.

Having Bell leave said kingdom was a hassle.

They wanted Bell to stay.

Athena wanted Bell to stay.

How in the hell did Bell earned the favor of Athena.

Worse, of all the Goddess to earn the favor of, it has to be Athena.

He might look like a girl, but he's male, and his preference is of the fairer sex.

In a different world, in a different time, I think Bell would have stayed.

Unfortunately, the trauma that he inflicted upon himself was still fresh.

He needs space, he needs time to recover and make peace with the things that he did bring forth an end to this war.

So we left…

We basically escape a kingdom where Bell would have been treated like royalty.

In fact, their prick of a king was contemplating actually engaging Bell to her child, the newly minted crown princess of the Kingdom.

If I wasn't motivated to leave, that would give me enough reason to take my child and run and not look back.

That elven princess is nuts! He would not be good for my child.

LOG # 175

My child forged a very beautiful blade.

This blade, this sword is his Atilla.

It is a magnificent sword. A remarkable weapon. A work of art.

It's a weapon that my child bestowed a name to.

It's a weapon that my child proclaimed as the weapon that he will wield for the rest of his life.

It's a weapon that he bestowed the name Albaz.

And as he named his weapon, his very own Sword of Atilla.

I know that it was time for me to return to heaven.

I have nothing more to teach him.

His growth is now in his hands

LOG # 180

I promised my child that I will pave the way for him to get his revenge on the One-Eyed Black Dragon.

Before I ascend, I will keep my word.
