CHAPTER 06: The Antidote and Sasuke's Departure
The group finally arrived at Lady Tsunade's office, dragging a still-smitten Sasuke and an utterly flustered Hinata. Naruto barged in without knocking, as usual, loudly announcing their arrival.
"Tsunade-baachan! We've got a serious problem!"
Tsunade, seated at her desk with a pile of paperwork, barely glanced up. "What is it this time, Naruto? Did Sasuke punched you again?"
Naruto pointed dramatically at Sasuke. "The teme drank a love potion, and now he's acting all weird and clingy with Hinata!"
Tsunade's eyes narrowed as she looked at Sasuke, who, despite the commotion, remained perfectly calm. His attention was once again fixed on Hinata, who stood awkwardly beside him, holding the flower he had given her.
"I see what you mean," Tsunade said dryly. "Sasuke Uchiha, lovesick. Never thought I'd live to see the day."
"It's temporary," Sakura explained quickly. "Teuchi-san said it was a love potion that accidentally got mixed into his ramen. Can you fix it?"
Tsunade stood and walked around her desk, examining Sasuke like a doctor might examine a peculiar specimen. "He's not exactly resisting, is he? How do you feel, Sasuke?"
Sasuke finally looked away from Hinata to glance at Tsunade. "I feel fine. Better than fine. I've realized something important today."
Naruto groaned loudly. "Not this again."
Sasuke ignored him, turning back to Hinata. His voice softened, and his eyes darkened with what could only be described as uncharacteristic tenderness. "Hinata, I'm grateful this happened. It's given me clarity. You deserve someone who sees how extraordinary you are."
Hinata, already overwhelmed, could only stammer, "I-I…"
"Alright, enough," Tsunade interrupted, her tone sharp. "I've seen enough. This is definitely a love potion. Let's fix this before things get even more awkward."
Naruto threw his hands up. "You're a little late on that one, baachan."
Tsunade ignored him, heading to a cabinet filled with bottles and scrolls. She pulled out a small vial of clear liquid and handed it to Sakura. "This should neutralize the potion. Just get him to drink it."
Sakura hesitated. "How exactly are we supposed to do that? He's not exactly cooperative right now."
Naruto grinned, cracking his knuckles. "I'll take care of it."
Before anyone could stop him, Naruto grabbed the vial, lunged at Sasuke, and shoved the antidote into his mouth. Sasuke, caught off guard, reflexively swallowed, glaring daggers at Naruto the entire time.
"If I wanted to kill you, I'd make it painful," Sasuke muttered, his usual cold tone returning almost instantly.
"Teme's back!" Naruto cheered, throwing his hands in the air. "Thank Kami."
Sasuke wiped his mouth, glancing briefly at Hinata before stepping away from her. "I'm leaving."
"Wait, that's it?!" Naruto exclaimed. "You're not even gonna explain yourself or apologize for all the weird stuff you said?"
Sasuke shot him a withering look. "I didn't do anything I regret. Unlike you, Naruto, I don't embarrass myself."
Naruto opened his mouth to argue, but Tsunade raised a hand to silence him. "Hold it. Sasuke, before you leave, you should know this love potion doesn't create feelings out of thin air."
Sasuke paused, his hand on the doorframe. Without turning around, he said, "I know."
Everyone froze, staring at him in stunned silence.
"What do you mean, you know?!" Naruto demanded, his voice an octave higher than usual. "Does that mean—?"
Sasuke interrupted, his voice calm and cryptic. "Figure it out, dobe."
With that, he left. The sound of the door closing echoed in the now-silent office.
Hinata stood frozen, her mind spinning. "W-what did he mean by that?"
Naruto pointed at Tsunade, his voice frantic. "Baachan, explain! What was that about?!"
Tsunade sighed, sitting back at her desk. "The potion doesn't make people fall in love out of nowhere. It amplifies what's already there—feelings, thoughts, desires. Whatever was in Sasuke's heart got brought to the surface and cranked up to eleven."
Naruto's jaw dropped. "So you're saying… Sasuke already liked Hinata?!"
Sakura, who had been quiet up until now, crossed her arms and smirked. "I mean, it makes sense. The potion only works if there's something to amplify. And Sasuke was laser-focused on Hinata the whole time."
Hinata's face turned a shade of red that even a Sharingan couldn't miss. "H-he what?!"
Naruto paced back and forth, muttering to himself. "No way. No way. Sasuke doesn't like anyone! He's a brick wall with a sword!"
Tsunade chuckled. "Apparently, even brick walls have cracks."
Naruto threw his hands in the air. "This doesn't make any sense!"
"It doesn't have to," Sakura said with a shrug. She turned to Hinata, who still looked like she might faint. "But it does mean something, doesn't it?"
Hinata clutched the flower Sasuke had given her, her mind swirling with confusion, embarrassment, and a tiny flicker of… hope?
Naruto groaned loudly. "This is the weirdest day ever."
Tsunade smirked. "And you haven't even seen my paperwork."
END.
Author's Note:
Writing this story felt like jumping into a fun, chaotic adventure where humor and unexpected emotions came together. It was such a joy to see Sasuke—usually so serious and cold—turn into a lovesick mess because of a potion.
There's something so fun about breaking his usual cool and letting him interact with Hinata in ways that were both awkward and sweet.
I hope you had as much fun reading this as I did writing it!
