...Chapter One...
Moving to a new town full of new faces and new places to see and visit was never an easy task for anybody, but especially for a ten year old girl who was particularly finding it hard and difficult to getting settled down in anywhere she was taken to. Her Mom said to her that they were this time finally going to stay put for good in Sunnydale, and right now that is where they are residing. Although, this time though her mother, Jennifer Calender was going to Sunnydale High as an undercover teacher, but of course Amy didn't know on what her mother was really up to and just thought she had been called to take over a computer science class as a new permanent teacher for the older kids within the high school.
Being just ten years old, Amy of course wouldn't know of the many dangers and the monsters that roamed the many streets of Sunnydale which is formally known to some as the Hellmouth. However, Amy was indeed very much excited into hopefully finally making new friends her own age and finally settling down at Sunnydale Junior's school.
Their new home wasn't much, a small one levelled bungalow with two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen and one main room in the middle of the building which would be known as the living room. Both mother and daughter's rooms where merely facing the opposite of each other. Jenny's the front bedroom and Amy faced the back where a small, but a beautiful back garden was. Amy was the lucky one to have such a calming, beautiful view which she would wake up to every morning where the sounds of birds would tweet and sing, making the ten year old girl's waking routine that more distressing.
The first morning during the start of their first new week on a Monday morning was just their usual routine but of course in a new setting. Amy got up from what appeared to be a surprisingly peaceful night full of soothing dreams and without a single nightmare not interrupting them to Amy's relieve. Today's the day is when Amy once again begins her brand new first day of school, arriving in the middle of the month of September when the current school hasn't long finished the summer break and had just already begun their first term of their new year. But, at least to Amy's relieve it wasn't during the next term as it meant she hadn't missed that much of her school work.
It was even the first day for her Mom as well with her new job as the new teacher so she must've been feeling just as nervous as she was to meeting all those new faces, especially towards those older students.
"Right then sweetheart, have you got all your stuff and remember just be yourself and be friendly to who you meet and you should make new friends in no time." Her mother's voice entered the living area as Amy sat by the round breakfast table near the kitchen space, eating her cereal. Amy looks up at her Mom, smiling and swallowed the chewed up bits of cereal that she had in her mouth so she could of course respond,
"I have Mom, all in my bag, have you got everything for your new class?" She couldn't help but to throw the same question back at her, always wanting to make sure that her Mom too had everything she needed for her first day. She was also excited for her Mom as she really did need this new job in able to support their 'new life' of theirs. Once Amy finished up her cereal, getting up from the table and placed the empty bowl into the sink. Picking up her coat as it was starting to turn colder out there at this time of year.
"Let's go." Jenny said as she zipped up her daughter's coat, Amy picking up her bag with a smile on her young features as Jenny picks up her bag and placed a motherly kiss upon her daughter's head as she began to lead the way to the car, making sure to lock the front door of their new home.
