Chapter:5 The Hunt begins

Mcduck manor,a few minutes earlier:

Della sat at the living room table with a blanket around her shoulders and a cup of tea in her shaking hands,it was a weird sight. Della duck had never been afraid of anything and always had something to say but now she was completely shocked, quiet but mostly confused.

Scrooge sat beside her,stroked her back and tried to calm her but also tried to tell the story she had told him earlier.

" Okay, let me see if I got everything, at the bank earlier today you met a man that you decided to talk with,he then ran after his animal which Louie chased and Webby chased after him?

She nodded and he continued:

" You chased after him because you thought he was the thief that people talked about,and then after some misunderstandings he teleported you down to the bank vault which he entered after his animal."

Another nod.

" And after he…. attacked me,he got you all out of there and then you knocked him down,took the kids and escaped?"

Once again,she nodded without saying anything and her uncle finished:

" Then some hours later when we came home and saw the house destroyed,you ran up to the kids and saw the man,and a woman and when he talked you heard Donald's voice,and the woman was your best friend and then they and the kids disappeared again?"

This time she answered:

" Yes,it was them,my twin and my best friend, I know it,Uncle Scrooge,I just know it".

Scrooge looked at her quietly then said:

" Well then I guess we will go out and find them and the kids then".

Della looked at him with a grateful smile,but she had a question:

" But how will we find them? I have no idea where they can be".

Scrooge thought for a while but sadly he didn't come up with anything.

" Sorry Lass,but for the first time I actually don't have an idea".

This made Della sigh heavily and turn away from him but then an angry question left her beak which Scrooge didn't Quite catch.

" What did you say?"

But she didn't say it again.

Scrooge tried to say something, but no words came out,and then Della raised up from the couch and walked towards the front door.

" You are going to go and find them,right?"

" Of course, I'm not going to wait any longer,the kids may need me and I want him back too,he has been gone too long". She said with determination.

This made Scrooge smile a little at her love for both the kids and her long gone twin.

" You really are becoming more and more like your mother and father".

Della smiled but she knew that she had to do it alone.

" Thanks,Uncle Scrooge but I must find them myself because he wouldn't be happy to see you"

Scrooge's smile vanished but he reactually nodded,realizing her point.

" You're right,lass,find our family,all of them"

She nodded, opened the door and walked to her motorcycle which had a side cart for all the kids she hadn't used this cycle as a teen,she put on a helmet with visor, started the cycle and drove off into the night.

But her boys hunt wasn't the only one that happened in the town tonight.

In the abandoned amfiteater,a young teenage girl duck stood behind a pillar,looking around for someone and then out of nowhere a figure appeared and saw her immediately and waved a hand towards her.

" Have you found it yet Lena?" The figure asked in a male voice.

" Yeah of course,here it is,oh Wait no because you don't never say what I'm looking for!" The girl answered with much sass.

" I have told you a dozen times that you are supposed to look for the child with the power that is destroying the city!"

" Well you can maybe give me something to go after,like a name for example!" Lena answered with her arms crossed.

"As I have said a dozen times,the visions only showed the child's power,and that only you can find it,I don't know how but somehow you will find the child,and help it.

Lena felt a bit unsure but then came the words that warmed her heart:

" You know I forgot to tell you something else I saw, you finally got a real family,and you will be free from loneliness forever".

She really didn't want to believe this guy's words but a tiny part of her hoped that it was true.

She suddenly felt a arm around her and tried to pull away but she was in a tight grip and the figure finished his sentence:

" Your new family will never abandon you,just find the child,and you will be free".

She finally gave in,wanting both of these things.

" Whatever you say,Mr Fox".

" Good" he answered as he slowly removed his arm from her.

He then grabbed her arm and vanished on the spot and they appeared in an alleyway,hidden from curious eyes.

" Now out with you and search". He said and gave her a lightly push out of the alley and the girl began her hunt.

Meanwhile on a street a bit away,A male duck with a suitcase and four kids walked down the street on their way to the park to search for an extraordinary creature.

Donald wasn't sure why but a part of him wanted to know the kids a bit better so he tried his best to start a conversation.

" You know at the dinner you kids really got those two to open,people must like you".

They were a bit surprised at those words,but tried to say something good back.

" Well I'm sure people like you too" Louie Said back hoping it would help.

" No not really, People find me very strange because of the voice"

" Oh" was the only thing they could say.

They continued down the sidewalk and came into a street with a jewelry store as Huey decided to cheer up their new friend.

" Well just so you know we don't think that you are strange,you are fantastic ,you managed to save so many innocent animals,you are amazing!"

A big smile spreaded over Donald's face which seemed to never end.

" Thanks kid,that's nice to hear"

Huey smiled back and patted his arm in a friendly way.

And then Webby noticed something.

" Mr duck Look at this!"

They all turned to her direction,and saw a tiny golden watch on the ground,and a trail of diamonds after that.

" Oh,great Teddy is here!"

" Which one are Teddy?" Louie asked.

" The one you wanted to steal before"

He got a bit of a shameful look.

" Oh" he said.

Webby quickly moved to the jewelery store,and suddenly let out a tiny giggle.

" Guys,you need to see this!"

They quickly walked to the shop's window and saw a funny sight.

The creature that started everything stood in clear sight,covered in jewelry and in a side stand pose like it thought it would be hiding.

" Okay,that's cute" Webby said but then Teddy quickly ran away and Donald pulled out his wand and touched the window as he said: " Finestra"

The window breaks so Donald and surprisingly Louie jumpa in after to help.

" What are you doing?" Donald asks as he climbs a shelf.

" It was my fault all of this happened in the first place,so I want to fix it" Louie answered as he too climbed a shelf which Teddy sat on.

He tried to grab him but the little guy quickly jumped up on the chandelier but Louie jumped after and spun around like a merry-go-round,and then on a shelf that both Louie and Donald jumped on but sadly,this led to the shelf falling towards the window which slowly started to crack.

The other kids watched on silently,but then they noticed that one of the locks on the case flew open, and some sounds came from it,so they slowly walked to it,Webby and Dewey hold it in place while Webby closed the lock again,but just as she did it,the window broke and the niffler began to run away.

But then sirens was heard and coming so Donald in a panic yelled:

" Accio!"

The items that the niffler had taken began to fly out of him as he also flew towards them,but the jewelry covered both Donald and the kids fully while Teddy flew towards them and Louie catched him:

Donald ran forward and asked his animal:" So happy,now?"

Louie looked at Teddy and did something very unexpected: he hugged Teddy just like his namesake.

He pulled away from the niffler and asked " You okay,little guy?"

Teddy looked at him with calm eyes and made a purring sound.

" I take that as a yes Louie said as he gave him to Donald who started emptying the niffler's punch, but just as he was finished, police sirens were heard and cars came stopping before them and police officers came with weapons out.

Louie desperately tried to say something" They went that way,officer"

Sadly they just aimed the Guns at them,or not really at the kids, mostly at Donald as they suspected that it was he who forced the kids into stealing from the store.

"Hands up,thief!" One officer shouted (which made Louie accidentally destroy another window).

But before anyone could say anything a motorcycle engine was heard the officers and g turned towards it,Donald immediately took advantage of this distraction,and apparated with the kids and Teddy,while the cops and the hero continued to stare almost hypnotized towards the sound,which came from a black motorcycle with a sidecar drove around the corner and parked in front of them.

The driver took off the helmet and revealed Della duck who brushed her hair from her eyes and looked confused and a bit desperate at the crowd before her.

" Miss is everything okay?" One officer asked.

She began to speak and her voice sounded almost desperate just as her look was:

"I'm sorry for coming like this,but I'm looking for my kids,have any of you seen these four?"

She showed a photo of Huey,Dewey Louie and Webby which one of the officers recognized:

" Of course!" He Said and pointed, " They are right…. He stopped when he saw that the place was empty.

Here" he finished

" Are you sure it was them?" She asked,wanting to be sure.

" Yeah but some guy was with them,and he seemed to have some strange animal with him"

Just as the officer said that,Della disappeared on her motorcycle in a second,and everyone stared after it.

" Classic Duckburg" was the police's only words since they were pretty used to this by now.

Donald and the others appeared in an alleyway safe from prying eyes which finally gave them room to breathe.

" That was close" Huey said,a bit shocked from the crazy event earlier.

Webby was mostly worried that something had happened to Teddy: " Yeah,but please tell me that you still got him"

Donald pointed to the cute creature safely peeking out from his left coat pocket.

Webby couldn't help to just Adore him:

" Aww!,He's so cute!" She squealed as she reached out a hand and slowly patted the tiny creature on the head.

Donald smiled a bit and turned to Louie,a bit unsure but then he held out a hand:

" Nice work,kid"

The youngest tripet took the hand,shaking it and he said:

" Call me Louie"

" Louie," the magic duck answered,using the kids' names for the first time.

He then opened his case and put the niffler in it.

" One down,three to go"

"Okay,remind me again where we were going earlier?" Dewey,his adventuring side really showing now,but just as he asked that,they heard a tiny roar,and when they turned around a lion passed the alleyway.

Donald couldn't help to make a joke about the sight:

I know it has been years since I was here,but I'm sure that wild lions are not allowed to walk around the street or has the city hall implemented some secret law that allows wild animals to wander around the city at night?"

" No" everyone said,and Donald couldn't stop a little smirk from creeping up his beak:

" This city has become so much more interesting then I remembered"

And he quickly grabbed the kids and disarappated once again,towards their next goal.

Some moments later they were finally at the snow covered duckburg park,the biggest park in the city,and also the place for the zoo,which sadly was a bit destroyed, mostly the entrance and some of the exhibits which allowed the animals to run free.

They quickly noticed the zoo's destruction,and knew that's where the creature that was the first goal from the beginning,ran over the bridge leading to the zoo entrance,suddenly an ostrich ran past them and continued over the park.

" I think we found the one we were looking for in the beginning," Louie said.

" Yeah,but which creature is this?" Dewey asked,mostly excited,and curious.

" The Erumpent" Donald and Huey Said in unison,which made everyone stare at the oldest tripet.

" How much did you memorize that script,exactly?" Donald asked,unable to believe that he had learned so much in such a short time.

" Well,all of it?" The boy answered a bit nervously,but instead of some nasty comment,Donald just gave the boy an impressed nod.

" Not bad,kid".

"Thanks" Huey said as he smiled at getting a positive comment for his love of knowledge,which never really happens.

Louie decided to get them back on track " Excuse me,for interrupting,but maybe we should focus on the animal we need to get back?"

This made them focus on the big problem before them.

" Oh right,so how do we capture it?" Webby asked,excited as usual in these types of situations.

" Well,it is going to be very dangerous,and the possibility of death is very high.

These words just lighted a glime in the blue tripet,and the pink loving duck's eyes " I like those odds" they both said,which made the two other boys facepalm in annoyance.

" Something is very wrong with you two",Louie said,his face still in his hands.

Donald quickly pulled out four protective headgears and hands them to the four children.

" Here,put these on"

They did as he said,but Louie wondered why:

" Why do we have to put these on?"

Huey remembered what he had read in the script and gave a not so helpful answer:

" Because our skulls are susceptible to break under it's immense force".

Louie's eyes widened in fear as he and the others followed Donald towards the zoo,and when they arrived at the entrance,Donald this time pulled out four body protectors, tiny breastplates which he fastened on the kids as he tried to be recurring.

" Just so you know,there is absolutely nothing for you to worry about,I'm here to protect you".

This didn't calm Louie at all

" Has anyone ever trusted you when you're tell them not to worry?"

He finished the breast plates and answered:

" If life has taught me anything it's that worrying means you're suffering twice"

They tried to take in that " wisdom" as they walked inside through the destroyed gate.

Inside they saw the erumpent,a large rotund,rhino-like creature with a massive horn protruding from her forehead,and she was looking at a terrified hippo.

" What's happening?" Dewey asked.

"She's in season,she needs to mate," Donald answered, which got the children to cringe a little.

" Okay so how do we do this?" Louie asked and the answer came in the form of Donald taking a bottle and dabbing a spot on both his wrists.

" It's Erumpent-musk,she's mad for it" he answered the kids' confused looks.

He gives the bottle to Dewey and then walks into the zoo and when he's face to face with his creature,he puts down his case and slowly,seductively opens it.

He then started to perform some kind of dance which involved some grunts,wiggles rolls and groans which gained the creature's attention and also made the kids laugh. She turned away from the hippo and faced Donald instead and when she was focused on him,he began to roll on the ground which she did too,straight towards the case.

" Good girl,that's it,into the case…"

It could have gone without any problems…. expect that it did.

The kids had walked inside to look a bit closer at the show,Dewey Held the tiny vial close to his face and then something hitted him from behind and the musk spilled all over him which changed the Erumpent's interest to the blue-dressed boy.

Dewey slowly looked up and saw the creature staring at him.

" Uh-oh" was the only thing that left him.

Then she came towards him at incredible speed.

His brothers and Webby quickly made him move: "RUN, DEWEY!"

He obeyed the yell,turned around and ran like he never had done before.

He ran through a broken exhibit up a big rock and jumped down from it, ran out from the exhibit with the Erumpent straight after which made the ice break when it did the same jump after him then straight out from the zoo after the boy who now was screaming in panic.

Donald quickly took out his wand to try to help but then a baboon came from nowhere and took it.

" Merlin's beard!" He muttered but before he ran after it he saw the kids quickly running out to help their brother and friend.

Dewey continued to run for his life,unaware that the noise was actually heard by two someone a bit outside the park.

Della really began to get worried,she had almost went around the whole city,and not a sight of the kids,she knew that it was a little stupid to just drive around without any real goal,but she had no other idea,she just hoped that some clue would show up and then she heard something.

" Ahhhh!"

She immediately recognized that scream.

" Dewey!" She thought and drived in the direction of the park which seemed to be the park, and since she was just two blocks away she would be there in just a few minutes.

" Don't worry kids, I'm coming!" She yelled as she drove like crazy,and woken up the entire neighborhood as she did.

But she wasn't the only one who heard the scream because not so longfrom the park was Lena out on her own little mission when she heard the screaming.

"That must be the thing I'm looking for!" She thought and began to

Back in the park, Dewey kept running but began to feel his legs hurting,he couldn't run for much longer,then he saw a tree which he managed to get to and climb up a bit,with a bit it was just one branch and the second one he just hung in like a monkey.

" Donald!" He yelled in panic as the Erumpent laid on her back,moving her feet like she was a cat playing with her toy.

And the mentioned man was trying to trade a branch with the baboon for his wand.

" They are exactly the same,exactly the same.."

Then Webby came running back inside with her face full of anxiety.

" Not to stress you or anything,but ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS IS GOING TO DIE!" The last part came out in a scream.

" Believe me I wanted to help him as much as you and I'm coming as soon as I get my wand back!"

Webby's eye twitched and she pushed Donald aside,went to the baboon and made some noises which made the animal drop the wand,took Donald's branch and walked away.

Donald was surprised by this,but decided to ask questions later,and rushed out in the park with Webby after.

Louie and Huey tried to get the Erumpent's attention but nothing worked as it was still focused on Dewey who still was hanging in the tree but now the creature plunged it's horn in the tree which seemed to fill with some liquid that made the tree's trunk to press outward of the pressure and exploded.

The tree along with Dewey fell to the ground and out on the frozen lake and once again he had to run for his life with the rhino-like creature after him which was difficult thanks to the ice.

Donald came out from the zoo and looked at the boys who both pointed to the lake where the chase took place,and immedately he apprated on the ice behind the creature and managed to capture a part of it from behind and she slowly got sucked back in the case but not before getting a Quick lick at the blue dressed boy who had fallen on his behind,but she was in the case after that.

They both breathed heavily from the experience,and then Donald Held out his hand to the boy:

" Good show,kid"

Dewey took his hand and said:

" Please call me Dewey"

" Dewey," Donald said back.

They heard footsteps on the ice and saw the other kids running up to them and Webby threw herself into Dewey's arms,giving him a hug.

" Are you okay?" She asked with tears falling,her anxiety finally dropping.

He patted her a bit on her shoulder and answered:

" Yeah I'm all right Webs"

His brothers looked at him worriedly but still had things to say.

" How did you survive that?" Louie asked calmly but a bit nervously.

" I have no idea," Dewey answered,which was a bit hard since Webby's strong arms were still around his throat.

" Webby I think Dewey needs air" Huey said which made Webby let go of Dewey with an apologising look.

" Sorry Dewey"

He gave a easy smile.

" Don't worry Webbs,everything's okay"

He then looked at Donald.

" So how many creatures are left?"

" Two"

" Just two?" Dewey asked with some disappointment.

" Yes,now come on we need to check if she is ok" He answered,meaning the Erumpent.

They walked under a bridge,thinking it would be a good hiding spot,but they didn't notice that someone was watching them behind a tree,and the figure saw them all climb down in the case and as soon the lid was closed the figure ran forward,locked the case took it but then she heard the sound of a motorcycle in panic the figure appeated behind the same tree as before,but them she realized that the case weren't there and when she looked around a duck with a familar scarf cruched down with the case,the case she just had in her hand!

The female duck walked away to the entrance on her motorcycle pushed up the locks and tried to open it in many ways but nothing worked,not even when she tried to pry it open with a crowbar.

" Okay suitcase,I will open you,Nothing can stop Della duck!"

Daisy Duck who still stood behind the tree facepalmed.

" Still as stubborn as before" She thought as she saw Della climb on her motorcycle with the case and drove away.

Della drove a few blocks away from the park when a klicking sound was heard from the case.

In the case,the kids and Donald watched the Erumpent walking back into her habitat,finally back home in her true place.

" She's home,finally". Donald said,relieved that another was safe.

" It is going very well" Webby said,also relieved how great everything was going,but she also felt a bit sad that the adventure was soon over.

Meanwhile Dewey had his own little dilemma to solve, which was the photo he saw earlier and he decided to finally ask about it.

" Um,Donald?"

" Yes Dewey? Donald asked as he aimed the wand towards the shed where a locking sound was heard,he had unlocked the case so they

" Can I ask you something?"

" Sure,go ahead"

He became very nervous,but tried anyway:

" Well you see I…"

But before he could finish,they heard the sound of someone climbing down the ladder in the shed,someone was on their way down in the case!"

" Who is it?" Louie asked a bit fearfully.

" No Idea,but get behind me,kids!" Donald said and they did as he said as he pulled out his wand and aimed it at the door,which slowly opened to reveal a Female duck dressed in a pilot outfit,and when she stepped outside,her jaw dropped at the sight before her and then she noticed the person that pointed a wand towards her.

" Hi" Was the only thing she could say to the twin brother she hadn't seen in years.

A/N: I know that the end is a big difference but I just couldn't drop the idea of the meeting between the Duck twins in this way,it felt so perfect,but please tell me what you think.
