Chapter 20: Return of the Trollhunters

It had been a week since the craziness that was the Friendship Games and since Tempest had come home. Granted she still had to live in the city to attend Crystal Prep, but she stopped by whenever she could and it was clear that having Tempest back had helped ease the tension between Dusk and his mom.
At Dusk's house, we see Sonata and Aria eating breakfast while Adagio is on the couch watching TV.
Glancing in the kitchen they saw Dusk and Amber in the kitchen.
"So luckily she didn't put in her deposit so she didn't lose anything on that apartment she was looking at," Dusk said.
"That's good, so where is she thinking of going after graduating?" Amber asks.
"She's still figuring that out, but you can ask her when she stops by next week," Dusk said.
"Counting the minutes," Amber said before looking at her watch. "Gotta go. A client needs my legal opinion on what forms they need to file."
"Have a good day Mom," Dusk said.
"Love you, sweetie," Amber said hugging him goodbye.
"Well, someone's in a better mood." Sonata gestures as Amber leaves.
"Yeah, it's like the second sis showed up mom's cold shoulder instantly thawed," Dusk said.
"At least now she won't be so suspicious when we're out doing Trollhunter stuff," Aria said.
"Good thing your sister has her place. I thought she might kick us out of her room." Sonata admits.
"Please don't put that thought in her head." Adagio pinches the bridge of her nose.
"Don't worry girls, my sister is tough but she's not heartless. Plus I still need you three as backup." Dusk said before walking over to Adagio. "Get ready, we promised to show Twilight and Flash around Troll Market today."
"You sure it's a wise idea to bring them both? I mean Flash is somewhat linked to this but what about Twilight? I mean she's not the one from Equestria." Aria asks.
"No, but she technically has some Trollhunter powers in her thanks to the Friendship Games. Even if she doesn't reveal them just yet it doesn't hurt to have her around." Dusk said.
"She is pretty smart. She's figured out Equestrian Magic pretty quick." Sonata said.
"Even so we had to jump through quite a few hoops to go to Troll Market and they get it instantly?" Aria reminds.
"Twilight wants to help us, you guys still hated us." Dusk points out. "Plus I kinda owe Flash that much."
"Alright, alright. We get it. We're still going right?" Adagio asks.
"Yes." Dusk nods making the Dazzlings smile. At least he was keeping his promise.
Later that day, at the bridge, we see Dusk, Nova, and the Rainbooms leading Sunset, Flash, Twilight, and the Dazzlings under the bridge to the wall.
"Oh man, I finally get to see Troll Market," Sunset said eagerly.
"Wait you haven't been there either?" Twilight asks.
"Blinky and Aaarrrgghh had to make sure I was trustworthy." Sunset answers.
"Who?" Twilight tilts her head.
"They're our friends." Rainbow answers.
"They may seem scary at first but they're nice," Fluttershy assures as Nova takes out the keystone.
"You ready?" Dusk asks.
"If it'll help find my brother." Flash nods.
"All right, before we go in let's make one thing clear. Saving Silver is just between this group here. If anyone else found out about it…" Dusk warns.
"Don't worry darling, we can keep a secret." Rarity said.
"Pinkie promise?" Dusk asks immediately.
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Pinkie recites.
"Uh yeah, that." Twilight gestures.
"Lips are sealed." Flash nods.
"Now what you want to do is make a semi-circle kinda like an arch. I have some chalk if you want to practice." Nova said but Twilight made a perfect half-circle surprising everyone. "Okay never mind."
Pressing against the stone, they all walk inside to see the crystal staircase.
"Whoa, now that is pretty cool," Aria admits.
"A crystal staircase?" Sonata squeals excitedly.
"I gotta check this out," Sunset said making her way down.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! All of you hold up. We have some ground rules to go over." Nova said.
"Yeah, some trolls aren't friendly to outsiders." Applejack agrees.
"Neither are we," Adagio said shoving past them and running down the stairs eager to see this.
"The last one down is a rotten egg!" Sonata said.
"Oh, you are going down!" Rainbow said following after.
"Wait for me!" Pinkie said jumping down each step.
"They didn't hear a thing I said did they?" Nova asks as Sunset and Applejack run past him.
"Nope." Dusk sighed as he made his way down with the others behind him.
"So uh trolls what are they like?" Twilight asks following behind.
"They may look scary at first but don't worry as long as Dusk is nearby they won't try anything," Nova assures.
"Not on you at least." Dusk mutters.
"Don't worry darling. You can handle it." Rarity assures taking his hand.
Smiling Dusk was feeling better as they made their way down to the bottom.
Hanging behind them, Fluttershy watched Dusk and Rarity and sighed.
Even though Rarity was her friend, she couldn't help but remember when Dusk kissed and Fluttershy confessed to him.
Part of her wanted to walk alongside Dusk, and she remembered when Blinky told her about the Trollhunter being allowed more than one girlfriend but so far Dusk had only had Rarity.
'I have to talk to Rarity.' Fluttershy thought.
Reaching the bottom, they see Adagio, Flash, Aria, Sonata, Twilight, and Sunset looking in awe.
"This is…beautiful." Twilight declares.
"I'm starting to see why you kept this a secret," Flash said.
"Welcome to Heartstone Trollmarket." Dusk declares.
"This place is beyond amazing. I wanna live down here." Sunset said excitedly.
Making their way down the trolls were surprised by the sight of more fleshbags. But none of them seemed to mind as they took in the area around them.
"Wait until Spike gets a load of this place," Twilight said accidentally bumping into someone. "Oh, I'm sorry."
Turning around we see Twilight ran into Blinky.
"Twilight!" Blinky smiles startling her. "It has been a while good friend."
"Uhm I think you have me mixed up," Twilight said.
"Remember Blinky, this is our Twilight. Not the one who helped save the bridge." Sunset said walking over.
"Oh, of course, silly me." Blinky chuckles before noticing Flash. "And you must be young Flash Sentry. We've been expecting you."
"Uh hey there." Flash waves.
"Yeah, Dusk told me quite about you guys. I read all your Troll Books." Twilight said making Blinky gasp.
"You read A Brief Recaputalion of Troll Lore Volume 1-47?" Blinky said in disbelief.
"It took me a while to translate all the symbols but it was fun." Twilight smiles.
Laughing Blinky scoops her up in a hug. "She read the books! She read the books!"
"Man, this place is awesome," Flash said checking everything out.
As they continued exploring, Twilight found herself approaching Vendel.
"You must be Vendel. Twilight Sparkle, I'm humbled to be one of the few humans you've accepted into Trollmarket." Twilight said.
"No! I allowed a one-human Trollhunter, the loud one for moral support, and his band of Trollhunter copycats since they stopped Bular! But these two?! It's an infestation!" Vendel snaps.
"Vendel, I can explain." Dusk starts when Flash clears his throat and begins speaking in Troll surprising everyone as Twilight joins in the troll dialect.
"And Trollmarket welcomes you as well." Vendel smiles. "Blinkous! If only the amulet had chosen a delightful and educated flesh bag like one of them."
"Hey," Dusk said offended.
"You speak troll?" Nova said amazed.
"NotSilver has been teaching us," Flash admits.
"Figured it would come in handy," Twilight said.
"Man Vendel loves you, and he hates everyone," Sunset said impressed.
"Amazing, you guys have everyone loving you on your first visit," Rainbow said.
"Well to be fair no one has complimented us yet." Sonata points out.
"You guys helped save the bridge, you all are heroes," Dusk said.
Pausing the Dazzlings had never been called that before. It was a new feeling.
"Hey uh, Blinky, Dusk kinda promised me I could see one thing when I came here," Flash said stepping forward.
Realizing what he meant, Blinky and Aaarrrgghh led them to a sealed room.
Slowly opening the lock, we look inside to see the remains of Kilahead Bridge.
"The Bridge," Aaarrgghh states.
"More specifically, what's left of Kilahead Bridge." Blinky summarizes. "Every piece is accounted for. Even the eye stone."
"So…my little bro?" Flash asks.
"Yeah." Dusk gestures.
Slowly Flash walks toward the ruins.
"Hopefully, this will give your friend the closure he needs. He does understand that we cannot allow the bridge to open?" Blinky asks.
"Or else we might release Gunmar and he would go on a rampage against everyone." Pinkie recites.
"Ugh, and his son was bad enough. I don't need to deal with that." Aria said.
"Me neither, right Dusk?" Nova nudges him.
"Of course, we'd be crazy to do that." Dusk frowns.
Suddenly a hand took his. Glancing at Rarity, she smiles softly and leans against him trying to make him feel better.
"Hey little buddy, it's your big bro. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you." Flash said putting his hand on the rubble. "We'll figure something out, I hope."
Sniffling Flash wipes a tear from his face.
"Thanks for giving me that." Flash smiles.
"Girls, Master Nova, would you be so kind as to give our guests a tour? I need to have a word with our Trollhunter." Blinky requests.
Going their separate ways, Aria, Adagio, Sonata, Sunset, and Twilight looked in awe as they entered the Hero's Forge.
"Behold, the scared grounds where Trollhunters will be tested and pushed to their limits. The Hero's Forge!" Nova declares.
"All this for one Trollhunter?" Twilight gestures amazed.
"Well, technically we're Trollhunters too," Fluttershy points out.
"Oh yeah, fighting monsters, kicking butt, and looking awesome at the same time." Rainbow smiles.
"Hey, it's Dusk's former basement troll." Sonata waves noticing Draal.
"Oh, it's you," Draal said.
"What's that statue he's making?" Twilight asks noticing the statue of Kanjigar.
"I don't make statues," Draal said turning to them. "This is my father."
"It was thanks to Maud we found them all. I promised to tell her all about this place." Pinky points out.
"I hate to be there when we have to put Dusk back together," Nova said and instantly Rarity shot him a glare. "I mean hopefully not for a long time."
In Blinky's study, Dusk and Blink were hard at work rebuilding his motorcycle.
"So not only have you brought more human females, but you also brought Flash?" Blinky asks as Dusk hands him some tools.
"Sonata, Adagio, Aria, and Sunset earned it after helping us stop Bular. They have Trollhunter armors so they can keep up." Dusk assures.
"I see, by the way, what's wrong with Twilight? She looks different than before." Blinky asks confused.
"It's a long story, but basically Twilight is a different Twilight than the one who helped stop Bular. If we can get her to unlock her powers like the other Twilight she could be helpful." Dusk said handing him a screwdriver.
"Are you sure you didn't bring her along with the other girls because you're on the lookout for more Trollhunter mates?" Blinky asks making Dusk stumble.
"What?" Dusk said fixing him. "Blinky, I have Rarity. I love her, and she loves me,"
"Yes, and she's lovely. I understand why you would go to such lengths for her. But is she the only girl who has stolen your heart? Can you honestly say the others haven't done something to get your attention?" Blinky asks.
Taking a moment, Dusk remembered all the support the Rainbooms gave him, Sunset saving him from Bular, the Dazzlings helping him with his family problems, and then Fluttershy kissing him.
"Well…maybe." Dusk blushes softly making Blinky chuckle.
"Master Dusk, while fear is an essential part of being a Trollhunter it doesn't mean you have to fear everything," Blinky advises patting him on the shoulder.
"I never thought something like this would happen," Dusk said processing all this.
"Just do what feels right. Now about Flash. Do you intend to do what I think you're planning?" Blinky asks.
"How do you know all of this?" Dusk asks.
"Master Dusk your devotion to the people in your life is obvious." Blinky states.
"It's his little brother, I promised," Dusk explains.
"But you know the danger. If you went in alone, you'd be killed. Which is why we will answer every call." Blinky said proudly.
"Look I know my methods aren't very traditional but…wait did you say we?" Dusk asks.
"Aaarrrgghh and I discussed. We knew you would go in with or without our approval, and no doubt the girls would follow you too if you asked. For folly or for fraught, we are a team." Blinky declares pulling Dusk into a hug.
"Thanks, Blinky." Dusk smiles feeling better.
However, that moment was ruined by Rainbow Dash who raced in.
"Dusk! We got a problem!" Rainbow said.
"What now Rainbow Dash?" Blinky asks.
"Our friends are about to get crushed!" Rainbow panics.
Running into the forge, Dusk looks in shock to see the entire place is active.
"What's going on?!" Dusk panics
"I didn't touch anything!" Pinkie said holding up her hands defensively.
"The whole thing just turned on and started acting all wonky!" Applejack said.
"Uh, little help here!" Nova said holding onto a ledge for dear life.
"I did not sign up for this!" Twilight struggles.
"I can't believe you guys do this all the time!" Flash said clinging to the floating platform.
"The controls!" Draal said trying to shut it down but nothing worked. "Ugh, this blasted arm!"
"How do we stop this?" Rarity asks.
"There's a manual kill switch inside the Soothscryer." Blinky points.
"I'll turn it off, you girls save Nova, Flash, and Twilight!" Dusk said as they all armored up.
Jumping on a swinging axe, Dusk, Rainbow, Sunset, and Applejack swung onto the platforms.
As a blade came flying at Nova, he was suddenly grabbed from behind by Applejack.
"That coulda been messy." Applejack cringed.
"You guys make this look so easy." Nova pants.
"Pinkie Pie! Aaarrgghh!" Applejack calls out as the two run nearby.
Grabbing Nova, Applejack tosses him off the platform and Aaarrrgghh catches him.
"I could use some help now!" Twilight panics as her platform flips upwards forcing her to dangle for dear life.
Losing her grip, Twilight screams falling downwards only for Dusk to catch her.
"I gotcha," Dusk said making Twilight blush.
"Uh, thanks." Twilight stutters.
"Sunset. Catch." Dusk said throwing her up and Sunset caught her.
"Is this normal?" Twilight asks.
"Nothing about any of this is normal," Sunset said.
As Rainbow stabs her spear into the platform, she grabs Flash and tosses him to Fluttershy and Rarity who catch him.
"All clear Dusk," Rainbow said as Dusk climbed to the Soothscryer.
Reaching inside, Dusk manages to shut the forge down returning everything to normal.
Taking a deep breath, Dusk revealed it had stopped when suddenly the Soothscryer began to glow getting everyone's attention.
"What's going on?" Adagio asks confused.
"It's calling to him, at last," Blinky said amazed.
As a bright light shone, everyone covered their eyes. When the light disappeared Dusk was gone.
"Dusk?! Dusk!" Nova calls out.
"What happened? Where is he?" Sonata asks.
"No Dusk," Aaarrrgghh states.
"What do you mean no Dusk? He was just there." Rarity said.
"He has been summoned." Blinky declares.
"Summoned where?" Flash asks.
In what appeared to be a dark version of the Forge, Dusk slowly stands up only to see the ceiling glowing with strange constellations.
"Hello? Nova? Blinky?" Dusk calls out as spirits fly past him.
"He's useless,"
"Unwelcome,"
"A mistake has been made,"
"Leave this place!"
Drawing his sword, Dusk braced himself.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Dusk calls out.
Suddenly the spirit of Kanjigar appeared behind Dusk and attacked him.
Turning around, Dusk blocks the attack but when he tries to retaliate his sword goes through his ethereal form allowing Kanjigar to disarm him and catch Daylight.
"What the? Only a Trollhunter can wield Daylight." Dusk said confused.
"We are Trollhunters!" Kanjigar declares.
Eyes widening Dusk looks at him notices his statue nearby and realizes who he was talking to.
"You're…Kanjigar. You're the voice from my amulet." Dusk said.
"Your amulet?"
"You mean our amulet."
"We are the Council of Elder Trollhunters." One declares as Dusk gets back Daylight.
"Wait. Am I dead?!" Dusk freaks out. "Oh come on! I was just piecing my life together and that stupid Soothscryer killed me."
"You're not dead. You're still in the Forge. In a way. This is the Void. A place between worlds for the Trollhunter to receive counsel for those who came before. We've been waiting and watching. Growling restless until you've proven yourself," Kanjigar states.
"So you guys made the arena go haywire? Wait, you've been watching everything?" Dusk asks
"There are no secrets," Kanjigar said showing a memory of Dusk stabbing Bular. "We've seen all. Your triumphs, your deceptions, and your other choices."
In one memory we see the Rainbooms and Dazzlings receiving their Trollhunter/Equestria armors.
In the other, we see Dusk talking to Flash about helping rescue his brother.
"We know what you plan to do, young Trollhunter. You court danger and death," Kanjigar warns.
"We have to go." Dusk urged.
"We? A Trollhunter works alone. If you bring those you care for into the Darklands, you all will be swallowed by it. To be a Trollhunter is to make sacrifices," Kanjigar states showing a memory of him walking away from Draal. "I had to distance myself from my son to keep him safe. Something you have failed to do!"
In the next memory, we see Draal losing his arm to get Dusk his amulet back.
"No. You can't blame me for that one." Dusk said pointing at Kanjigar.
"Excuse me?" Kanjigar narrows his eyes.
"Draal challenged me because he didn't think I deserved this amulet. I could have killed him but I didn't. He chose to fight alongside me. He protected my home. I don't regret sparing him. He's, my friend. As for making sacrifices? I've had to make nothing but sacrifices since I got this thing," Dusk said.
Nearby memories appeared of his mom distancing herself from him, Tempest trying to make him leave home, and Dusk leaning against the wall crying.
"Look I'm not perfect. But maybe the fact that I surround myself with so many friends is the only reason I'm the only Trollhunter here who's still…you know, alive?" Dusk gestures.
"Blasphemy!"
"He mocks us!"
"Leave this place!"
"Listen to me, I'm going to the Darklands with or without your approval. And I'm keeping my friends with me. So you guys can either help me figure out a way to survive or you just send me back." Dusk states.
From the top, the statue of Deya's eyes glowed briefly and Kanjigar immediately caught on.
"Before you go Trollhunter, there is something you must do," Kanjigar states.
Back in the Forge, everyone else was worried.
"What do you mean he's in the Void?" Rarity asks.
"That sounds like a scary place." Fluttershy gulps.
"Yeah, and is he with fun ghosts like Casper or spooky soul-sucking scary story ghosts?" Pinkie asks.
"They will not suck his soul; they will merely peer into it. He is now under the spiritual guidance of Master Trollhunters." Blinky declares.
"Ghost Guidance Counselors? Man Dusk gets all the good stuff." Nova groans.
"Wait, how come we're not there too? We're technically Trollhunters." Applejack asks.
"I guess they prefer the one who found the amulet, not the ones who got pulled in afterward," Draal said.
"Wow, even the dead don't want to talk to us." Adagio growls.
Suddenly a glow shined behind them and Dusk reappeared in the Forge.
"Dusk!" Gasping everyone ran to him.
"First Equestrian Magic, then Trolls, and now ghosts? What's next? Fairies?" Twilight lists.
"Fairies? Preposterous! Fairies lost the war to the pixies centuries ago." Blinky scoffs before turning his attention to Dusk. "What did they say?"
"They said they won't stop us." Dusk answers.
"What would my father stop you from doing?" Draal asks.
"From entering the Darklands, but they said the only way any of us would get out alive is if we kill Gunmar. And with Strickler gone, maybe we have a chance." Dusk said hopeful.
After bringing Twilight and Flash home, Fluttershy is sitting on a park bench with Rarity.
"So what's all this you wanted to talk about, Fluttershy?" Rarity asks.
"Rarity, are you happy being in a relationship with Dusk?" Fluttershy asks curious.
Surprised, Rarity took a few seconds before smiling.
"I am. Sure this Trollhunter thing isn't the easiest adjustment but compared to everything else we're pulled into. I'm fine with it. The more I'm around Dusk, the happier I am. When I'm around him, I feel safe but more than I can handle the dangers too. I love him." Rarity smiles.
Hearing this, Fluttershy took a deep breath. This wasn't going to be easy but she had to do it.
"Rarity…I think I'm in love with Dusk." Fluttershy confesses surprising her. "I even kissed him."
"Wait what?" Rarity said not expecting this.
"It was after we met Dusk's sister. Dusk was crying and unable to keep it together. It hurt to see him so down. I just wanted to help him. Let me make something clear, I do not want to steal him away from you. I would never do something like that." Fluttershy said quickly and defensively.
"It was that bad?" Rarity asks as Fluttershy nods.
Frowning, Rarity was beginning to realize something.
"Fluttershy, do you remember what Blinky told us about Dusk's love life?" Rarity asks.
"Yeah, but you were his girlfriend before we even knew." Fluttershy points out.
"And I love being his girlfriend, but I think the reason a Trollhunter needs this benefit…is because of situations like that. Darling is pushed harder than any of us and worst of all not much changes. I think Dusk needs to be surrounded by as many people who love him as possible." Rarity declares.
"So, you don't mind?" Fluttershy asks.
"Just remember, Fluttershy. I'm his favorite girl." Rarity smirks making her smile. "I'll talk to darling about this, but in the meantime. You should get ready for tomorrow because you and Darling will be spending time together." Rarity declares permitting Fluttershy.
"Really? You don't mind?" Fluttershy said.
"I can't help it if girls fall for my knight in shining armor, but I'll give you a chance to make sure these feelings are genuine." Rarity smiles.
Smiling Fluttershy was moved by Rarity's generosity.
"Rarity, Dusk is lucky to have a girlfriend like you," Fluttershy said.
"I'm lucky to have him, and I think you'll feel that way too," Rarity assures.
Meanwhile, in the middle of a deep jungle, Stricker was following his associate Otto and a goblin.
"How much further, Otto?" Strickler asks getting impatient.
"Should be just ahead, mein fruend. The old tomes were cryptic on his whereabouts." Otto informs.
"Waka Chaka." Coming to a stop, the Goblin and two Changelings looked in awe as they stumbled upon a ruined temple.
Making their way inside, they carefully maneuvered through the ruins reaching the bottom where a figure was chained to several parts of the wall and buried under tons of rubble. Next to it lay, a wicked-looking staff.
Taking out a small notebook, Strickler looks around and finds a small ring set aside.
"Here it is." Strickler smiles.
"The Inferna Copula." Otto gasps.
Smirking Strickler puts the ring on his finger and pulls a lever loosening the chains.
Approaching the figure, they waited for a reaction.
"Is he…still alive?" Strickler asks unsure.
"Don't look at me." Otto shrugs.
Kicking the Goblin, Strickler orders it to check.
Approaching the figure, the goblin pokes its hand but gets no reaction.
Turning around the goblin smirks thinking it is safe.
Suddenly waking up, the figure grabs the goblin.
Emerging from the rubble, a pale muscular figure with horns on the side of his skull and glowing yellow eyes stood tall. This was Angor Rot.
"Who has awakened me?" Angor Rot asks demanding an explanation.
Gulping Otto nervously pointed towards Strickler.
"I have, Angor Rot." Strickler declares nervously.
"You know my name. A shame I will never know yours." Angor Rot said choking the goblin until it exploded into green goo.
Breaking himself free from his chains, Angor Rot grabbed his staff and attacked them.
Raising his arms defensively, a glow emitted from Strickler's ring preventing Angor Rot from attacking him.
"My ring. My flesh." Anger Rot growls much to Strickler's amusement.
"Yield to me! For I wear the Inferna Copula." Strickler orders holding his hand out.
Cringing Angor Rot stood down.
"You have killed thousands. You are chaos incarnate. And you are…mine." Strickler cackles evilly with his eyes glowing.
He had a new toy, and he knew just who to test it out on.
Soon it was time for Dusk's date with Fluttershy, as Dusk was walking towards a nice nature trail, he looked for any sign of her.
'Fluttershy said to meet here. Did I get the time wrong?' Dusk thought taking out his phone.
When he dialed her number, he heard a ringtone nearby followed by a startled yelp.
"Fluttershy?" Dusk turns his head to see Fluttershy standing behind a tree.
Near her, Angel bunny saw she needed a little push.
Nudging her, Fluttershy stumbles out of hiding.
"Uh hi," Fluttershy said nervously.
In her hands, Dusk saw she was holding a picnic basket.
"Oh, a picnic?" Dusk said interested.
"Oh uh yeah. I thought a little nature walk followed by a little snack would be nice." Fluttershy explains.
"That does sound nice," Dusk said approaching her. "May I?"
Slowly Fluttershy handed him the basket to carry.
As the two of them started walking Angel decided to follow behind to make sure it turned out well.
Walking down the nature trail, Fluttershy felt relaxed being surrounded by nature.
"Doesn't it feel nice? Getting away from it all for just a little bit?" Fluttershy asks.
"It does." Dusk nods.
"Take a deep breath. Just let it all in." Fluttershy urged.
Taking a deep breath, Dusk inhaled and exhaled. Hearing the cool winds, followed by nothing by animal noises. It was a big change from Trollmarket and the city.
"I come here whenever I just want to take a break from things," Fluttershy said running her hand along some trees. "Helps me forget my worries."
"It's like a little slice of paradise. Your Garden of Eden huh?" Dusk teases making Fluttershy blush remembering that dream of them.
"Maybe not exactly like that," Fluttershy said.
"Still, I'm glad you invited me," As they continued walking Dusk reached out and held Fluttershy's hand.
Smiling Fluttershy linked her fingers with his.
This wasn't that crazy dream, this was real.
As they continued walking, Dusk forgot about his Trollhunter worries and Fluttershy became comfortable around him.
After their walk, the two of them sat down in a small clearing and Fluttershy opened the basket revealing a small cake.
Cutting a slice, Fluttershy handed it to him to taste.
"This is amazing. I can't believe you made this yourself," Dusk smiles making her blush.
"Well, I am paired with Pinkie Pie for Home Ec. We didn't win that round in the Friendship Games for nothing," Fluttershy giggles.
"Thanks, Fluttershy, this has been fun and relaxing. I don't get to relax very often," Dusk said.
"Well, if you ever find yourself in need of a break m-maybe we can do this again," Fluttershy suggests.
"You mean like a second date?" Dusk asks as Fluttershy turns to him.
"Dusk, did you ever talk to Rarity before coming here?" Fluttershy asks.
"Yeah, she said you talked to her and you wanted to spend time with me," Dusk recalls.
"That is true, but the reason I talked to her was because Dusk I-I really like you and-and…" Struggling to find the right words Angel nudges Fluttershy making her lips press against Dusk's surprising him at first but slowly the two lean into a kiss.
When they separate, Dusk looks at her.
"You like me." Dusk answers for her.
"Do you uhm…like me too?" Fluttershy asks nervously.
"Honestly I do. You're great Fluttershy. You're there for me when I'm freaking out and scared, it's like you know when I need someone the most. You're one of the kindest girls I've ever met. I really like you Fluttershy and I'm glad I have you in my life," Dusk declares making her smile overjoyed.
Looking at her smiling face, Dusk remembers that talk he had with Blinky.
"Fluttershy would you like to go out with me again?" Dusk asks.
Overcome with joy, Fluttershy hugs Dusk almost knocking him off balance.
"Yes! Yes!" Fluttershy said.
"Whoa, I didn't know your voice could get that loud," Dusk said surprised.
"Only when I get excited," Fluttershy blushes.
"I think it's cute, shows there's more to you," Dusk teases.
As she hugged him, Dusk glanced over her shoulder and saw Angel smiling happily for them.
After the picnic and their confession, Dusk and Fluttershy are walking back but this time Fluttershy was clinging to his arm affectionately.
"I had a great time Fluttershy," Dusk said as they reached the end of the trail.
"Me too. Hopefully, we can do something again soon," Fluttershy said.
"Absolutely," Leaning in Dusk gave Fluttershy one more kiss. It was brief but she felt so much love radiating from it.
As he walked away Fluttershy leaned against a tree putting a finger to her lips.
'Wow…I have a boyfriend now.' Fluttershy thought.
Watching Dusk leave, Fluttershy felt a warmth course through her body. She wasn't nervous or shy, she was happy and it came from being around him.
'I see why Rarity and him are so close…I wonder if we'll be that close?' Fluttershy thought curious.
It had finally happened, Dusk had gotten his first addition to his Trollhunter relationship, but Fluttershy would not be the last.
