We're back on chapter four, and Korra's about to find out who are the mysterious voices that instructed her to bring back the Forbidden Arts.
REMINDER: I DO NOT OWN LEGEND OF KORRA OR SWAN PRINECSS OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS.
Korra left the basement in guilt that she brought back the Pure Evil that tried to bring the Age of Despair to the world. She would have to pretend that nothing ever happened, and not to use magic, just bending.
She bumped into King Maximillian and Queen Uberta who noticed her being a bit worried about something.
"Korra, are you all right?" Maximillian asked.
"Uh, yes, Your Majesty." Korra said. "I'm just… thinking about my family."
"You are worried about them?" Uberta asked.
"Yes. Unalaq's wiping out everything I love, and I-I wouldn't know what to do to stop him." Korra said.
"Korra, you can defeat him." Maximillian said.
"I don't know much about Avatars, but you are the strongest of them all." Uberta said. "Whatever your fears are, they can be confronted just as you face them."
Korra was feeling better from the King and Queen's encouragement.
"Thanks, Maximillian, Uberta. I needed that." Korra said.
"Would you like some tea, Korra?" Maximillian asked.
"No thanks, I'm just gonna be alone for a while on the lake." Korra said.
Meanwhile, at the sea, the Northerners sailed to Republic City for a diplomatic meeting arranged by President Raiko. Unalaq stared straight to their way to the city, thinking about what had become of Korra.
"Father, why do we have to go for a diplomatic meeting?" Desna asked.
"You're here to straighten out the mess you caused when you failed to capture the Avatar." Unalaq answered.
"I told you, it wasn't our fault." Desna said.
"You're right. It was my fault for trusting you. Harmonic Convergence is almost upon us. This is my opportunity to change the world." Unalaq said.
"We'll make it up to you, Father." said Eska.
"Good, because we'll find the Avatar, bring her back to the South and open the northern portal."
"But what about what you're afraid of?" Desna said. "Who or what is a threat to us?"
"I have to be sure once we retrieve Korra." Unalaq said.
Meanwhile, back at Swan Lake, Korra was staring at the sky, regretting the biggest mistake of her life.
First, she chose Unalaq to be her spiritual mentor over Tenzin, then she let him manipulate her, started the civil war, and then she brought the greatest enemy of Derek and Odette back from the Underworld.
"What am I gonna do? I can't believe I brought that entity back to this world. Who were those voices anyway?"
Then, she heard the same whispering in her head again. She looked around in anger.
"You tricked me! You made me bring that evil force back from whatever he came from!" she said.
The voices in her head continued whispering, which made Korra angrier.
"How did you know who I am and where I came from? Show yourselves! Who are you?!"
As she turned, she sees a spirit, and it was not any spirit. It was the spirit of Rothbart the Spell-Weaver.
"Hi." he waved his hand.
Korra recognized him from the portrait, but he was not alone. There were two more spirits, Rothbart's old partners, Clavius the Magic-Shaper, and Zelda the Sorceress.
"Dark spirits!" Korra was alarmed.
"Not like your ones from your world, but I wish we were." Rothbart said.
Korra tried to use earthbending to throw a rock against the spirits of the magicians, but with not physical bodies, the rock went through them.
"Hey, hey. Take it easy, kid." Clavius said. "We're not gonna hurt you."
Korra used firebending to attack, but the fire wasn't working as well.
"Now, wait." Zelda said. "Calm down."
"We're your friends." Rothbart said.
Korra enters the Avatar State and uses waterbending. Even the magicians were impressed with her skills.
"Nice moves, girlie. Do the other Avatars used that more often?" Rothbart asked amazed.
She attempts to purify the spirits, but they did not glow golden. Then the spirits broke free.
"That's not gonna work on us, sister." Zelda said. "We are not like your spirits."
"We're better than they are." Clavius said.
"And we're not your enemies. Think of us as genies and you as Aladdin." Rothbart said.
"Save your speech, I know who you are. The guy who turned Odette into a swan." Korra said. "And these two are the ones you betrayed for that force's power."
"Oh, that betrayal's past history." Rothbart said.
"But we still remember." Clavius said.
"Clavi, are we doing this again?" Rothbart asked before turning to Korra. "Now, are you ready?"
"For what?" Korra asked.
"For the war. Think of us as your fairy godmother and godfathers, your partners." Rothbart said.
"It was you. You brought me here." Korra realized.
"Wasn't easy, but it worked." Zelda said.
"They told me about you three, especially you." Korra said pointing at Rothbart. "And seriously, trying to get Odette to marry you just so you can have her dad's kingdom, she's not your type!"
"Yeah. Well, I-I admit nobody's perfect." Rothbart said calmly. "I vowed to Willy I would take everything he owned and loved. Did so until Derek killed me. It's just frustrating."
"You're telling me. He dropped the Orb, and I was killed in a volcano!" Clavius complained.
"He pushed me into my own fireball, and I blew up." Zelda remembered.
"That doesn't matter why you brought me back and set me up to gain that power, I won't listen to you." Korra said before turning away from the magicians.
"What if we say we can help you get what you want?" Rothbart offered. "Your revenge on Unalaq, Raiko… and Mako."
Korra stopped at the moment she mentioned the names.
"That's right, sweetheart. We saw what you saw when you brought the Forbidden Arts back. We saw your pain." Rothbart said. "The pain when Unalaq betrayed you, Raiko refused to help you, and Mako ratted you out and broke up with you."
"And we can ease it. Stick with us, and you'll bring balance to the bending world." Zelda said.
"And with us, you'll be able to beat the greatest challenge." Clavius said.
"What challenge?" Korra asked.
"Why, defeat Vaatu, of course." Clavius said.
"Vaatu?" Korra was confused.
"The Avatar Cycle was created when a human named Wan permanently fused with Raava, the Spirit of Light and Harmony to fight Vaatu, the Spirit of Darkness and Chaos during Harmonic Convergence of 9,829 BG. Harmonic Convergence is what Raava and Vaatu must attend to fight in battle." Rothbart explained.
"That is an interesting story." Zelda said.
"That's why I love these spiritual arts." Clavius said.
"You see, my drear, Raava is the Spirit of Light and Harmony. She maintains the balance between the Four Nations as a bridge to the Spirit World by fusing herself with Wan's future reincarnations.
As for Vaatu, the Spirit of Darkness and Chaos. He wants to plunge the world into ten thousand years of darkness and his desire to cause chaos everywhere could potentially result in the world being destroyed. Vaatu's powerful chaotic influence can also corrupt normal spirits and turn them into ferocious, uncontrollable beasts.
How did you think dark spirits are attacking the ships?"
"Did the first Avatar destroyed him?" Korra asked.
"Oh, no. He cannot destroy light any more than Raava can destroy darkness. One cannot exist without the other. Even if Raava defeats Vaatu in this encounter, darkness will grow inside her until he emerges again. And if Vaatu defeats Raava, light will grow inside until she emerges."
"Well, what did he do to him?" Korra asked.
"When defeating him, Avatar Wan locked him in the Tree of Time for ten thousand years. After Harmonic Convergence ended, the cycle started. But on the next Harmonic Convergence this year, Unalaq is in league with him."
"What?" Korra was shocked.
"He wants the same as Wan did." The voice of the Forbidden Arts said.
"He wants to fuse with him?" Korra asked.
"If the two portals remained open, Vaatu will be free from his prison, and he will fuse with Unalaq and create a new Avatar. A Dark Avatar. Once they do, they will end Raava and the Avatar cycle." the Forbidden Arts said. "Unless you'll need help… from us."
"Help me?" Korra was touched with the offer.
"See, Korra? If we guide you to ultimate power to save your tribe, you can make Unalaq wish he was never born." Zelda said.
"And you'll stop Vaatu from bringing darkness to the world, including ours." Clavius said.
"Together, we can change both worlds, and we will become more better than the gods." Rothbart said. "Interested now?"
Korra looked at the spirits with determination so dark.
"Yeah." Korra accepted with a smile. "Tonight, we go back to Republic City, the five of us."
Whoa, in the Vysm Universe, Korra was seduced by her evil ancestor's witch powers, but this universe is much more.
Chapter five will be coming soon.
