Chapter 9 : Dead officer pt 1

Location: Tokonosu City

Place: Tokonosu City Police department

Time: Day 0- 0500

Minato hopped out the car and quickly ran to the bathroom to change into his suit. As the He had a certain image he needed to maintain. He pulled on a blue fitted suit, black business shoes, and his custom white and red overcoat with the Kanji for Fifth Hokage, Yellow Flash on the back. Despite his looks Minato was a descendant of a Ninja clan. As was Kushina. While to the most well known clans wee the Iga clan and the Koga clan, there were still several sub clans that all had Diymio and patrons they served. Minato knew his family served a minor Daymio called Uchiha Madara who had been a powerful Samurai while Kushina's clan served his rival Senju Hashirama. The remnants of those clans were few and fair between with Police Commissioner Uchiha Fugaku and Minister of Health and Welfare Senju-Uzumaki Tsunade being the heads of their families, but having no real desire to keep the old family wars going, even verbally.

Minato pushed open the door to the main lobby where officers were trying to wrangle people into the downstairs holding Cells. Some of them looked almost feral with the way they looked and acted. Others were receiving first aid as they had been gouged or bitten. He frowned as he watched a female office taze one of the biters, only for it to do nothing. He abandoned his walk and whipped out a pair of handcuffs and retraiened the man, before taking his foot out and slamming him headfirst into the geound.

"Listen up I'm giving officers and responders authority to subdue these people however they need to. Any complaints will come to me directly," said Minato.

Minato went to the elevator and went up to Level 6 where his office and his boss's office were. Bullpin where fones were already ringing off the hook. He stopped for a minute to see his secretary there. Sarutobi Kurenai alongside her baby. Kurenai was on maternity leave and wasn't supposed to be back for another 4 months and even there, there was a chance that she was going to give up being an officer so she could be with her child and husband more. However, minato was a bit concerned to see that she had her service issue piece strapped to her hip. Also, in a baby basket next to her desk was little Mirai.

"Kurenai-san what are you doing here?" asked Minato.

"I came in early because I needed to update some information and Mirai had an appointment today," said Kurenai.

"I'm guessing you dusted off your piece when you heard about the riots going on?" asked Minato.

"Safest bet. I've heard horror stories of what happens to some women and kids during riots. Mirai will be safest with me and my gun. What about Naruto-kun?" asked Kurena frowning.

"He'll be fine. As much as I worry for that boy, he's strong just like Kushina," said Minato.

Kurenai nodded as a voice barked from the Department Heads office.

"Fugaku is on the warpath," said Kurenai.

"Can you blame him? Be careful Kurenai," said Minato.

Kurenai nodded. "You as well boss," said Kurenai.

He pushed past the rest of his people and went to the Office of Fugaku Uchiha.

"Sir, Namikaze Minato reporting," said Minato.

Fuguku was a grumpy bastard at the age of 45. He also happened to be married to Kushina's best friend Uchiha Mikoto and had two sons with her Itachi who had just turned 21 and was part of Minato's investigative team and Sasuke who went to a private school out in Tokyo.

Also in the room were two Captain in the Special Assault Team. And Minato's former rookie partner Hatake Kakashi. The other was Nii Yugito. A sepcail consultant from the North. She was beautiful but was somewhat standoffish in nature. She and Kakashi didn't get along well.

"At Ease Minato. Now that your here we can try and get a handle on these damn riots that have all of a sudden popped up. I already been in talks with the Fire chief and and Head of the Ambulance crews. We're going to be working in units of 8. two officers, four fire crew, and two medics per team. It will help that most of the fire crew have some small detainment training," said Fugaku.

"Sir that will leave the SAT units spread thin. It's a mistake to break up those teams," said Kakashi.

"Normally i'd agree with you Hatake, but we need to be able to move fast, put down rioters and help the injured as needed. This is the best course of action," said Fugaku.

"Uchiha-taicho, is there any information on how the riots started?" asked Yugito.

"At this time no. All we know is that the first signs that something was wrong happened at about 0500 this morning when a man was attacked by a group of people who were biting and clawing at him like those old zombie movies. We figured that it was some type of drug that went bad. We handle it the best we can," said Fugaku.

Minato frowned at this. It couldn't be as simple as that. Tokoyo, Okanawa, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nagoya were all having riots. Compared to those major cities Tokonosu City was a ant hill compared to a mountain.

Yugito and Kakashi saluted before they walked out to go and get their teams. Minato turned and was about to walk out as well.

"Minato stay for one moment please," said Fugaku.

Naruto turned and looked at his boss. "Fugaku-san?"

"I know this is highly unusual at a time like this, but I want to reviest the old Alliances," said Fugaku.

"Why?" asked Minato.

"Next year I plan on making a run for the National Security Director chair. I know that it's going to be a rough go of it since i'll be competing with people like Kumo Ay and that old fossil Onoki, but if I get the seat I want you to come along and be my deputy. We use our lock down of this situation as our platform and show how security is done," said Fugaku.

Minato looked at him. "But that would go in violation of the peace pact," said Minato.

"You would think that but no it wouldn't. I have no plans on returning to war with Senju. She wants to tackle the health of our people and I want to put criminals behind bars. Onoki's been the director for the better part of 30 years. The great fence Sitter as he is has no plans on leave his chair or retiring. We need younger freah blood there and I need your help," said Fugaku.

"I'll think about it sir," said Minato.

Fugaku nodded. "Good man, now lets get this mad house in order,"

Minato pushed the door open just as the Emergancy Button was pushed...

Someone had initated and emergency Lockdown of the building

"Attention all this is Captain Nii. Several suspects have broken free of their restrains and are attacking anyone who moves. On my Authority as Captain of SAT unit 2, verification code A12F03 I am authorizing use of leatal force. I repeat I am authorizing use of leatal force!"

"What the hell Kakashi!?" asked Fugaku as he jumped up.

Minatao looked at him and nodded, before they rushed to the stairs to leave, only to find it filled with people who had been bitten and were now attacking anything that was not like them.

Minato drew his Smith & Westeon 45 and fired!
