When Gibbs, Kelly, and Jackson arrived in New York for Anthony's funeral, Tony seemed anxious. He was staying with Ruth and David and trying to hide out while Kelly was invited to stay there, too. Gibbs and Jackson were going to stay with Camille, Arthur, Charlie, and his little brother Jimmy. When they arrived, though, Arthur asked to talk to Gibbs and Jackson alone first.

"Is everything okay Arthur? We've been worried about Tony, I haven't heard from him since the night before last. When I called Ruth she said he was okay and would talk to me when we got here."

"He's fine, there's just something that happened he wanted me to talk to you and Jackson about. Tony got married this morning to someone the kids used to spend summers with here in New York before Liz passed away. Jane Rizzoli's parents used to send her to stay with her mom's cousin who lived by Ma and Pops. Constantina worked so Ma watched her during the day and Jane would always come over on weekends too."

"She's not Nellie's mom is she?" Arthur shakes his head. "I mean why did they get married then? Tony said he was supposed to marry Nellie's mom but she passed away so ... are they going to stay here in New York? Where is her family from? Is that why they want you to tell us?"

"They're from Boston and now they would like to move to Virginia. Frank and Angela have three kids and the high schools aren't that great where they live. They thought if Jane moved here she could get a better education and get a part-time job. It's not working out but they heard about Anthony and visited Tony and he offered to help her out in Virginia but Frank didn't like the idea of Jane moving near him unmarried."

"So they agreed for her to marry him just so he could help her?"

"Technically yes but there's a bit more they don't know. Jane is emancipated so she could've moved anyway but then Anthony's will was read. Tony was left most of his things but there was a stipulation in his and Liz's wills. If he and Jane marry they both get additional money each month. Tony doesn't need the money but it would help Jane out. She could use it for her needs and send some home to her parents each month. That's what she was going to do if she got a job. Constantina refuses to help her, one aunt says she can go to night school and clean houses with her during the day while the other one says Jane should just get her GED and be her nanny for room and board."

"So they already got married? And he didn't want to tell us himself why?"

"They're going to stay with Camille and me when we go back to Virginia but he thought you would be mad about this. The Rizzoli's think they shouldn't start their marriage living alone with Nellie, Angela remembers how hard it is to have an infant. They would like to meet you three though and Tony thought if you got mad then you don't have to meet them. Jane doesn't want to upset anyone but she could use the help. Tony also didn't know what you would think after what he's said about Faith him marrying someone else out of the blue."

"Well it is a surprise but it's not our choice. From what I know of Tony he would likely do it even if it wasn't a part of the will. We spent 3 weeks fixing up the master bedroom and Kelly's old room into a room for Tony and Nellie. There's plenty of room for Jane too if she wants to move in with us." Tony and Jane got there with Jane's parents. After introductions Kelly took Nellie to play in the backyard they sat down.

"Did Uncle Arthur tell you what was going on with me and Jane?" Gibbs nods,

"I was just telling him that we spent all that time fixing up the room for you and Nellie. If you don't mind moving in with us Jane you're more than welcome to."

"I ... if you don't mind Mr. Gibbs that would be good too."

"It's Jethro or just Gibbs and I wouldn't offer if I didn't mean it. Ask Tony I don't say anything I don't mean." Frank nods,

"That's what he told us and he's the same way. All we ask is we can keep in touch and see them once in a while." Tony sighs,

"I'm not going to hold her hostage Pops."

"They're emancipated so I can't make them stay if I wanted. My rules for Tony are just to let me know if he's going to be gone all night, ask if needs help with Nelie and I'd even babysit for him. Help around the house and if he wanted someone to stay over warn me ahead of time. He planned on getting his own phone line so he could make long-distance calls whenever he wanted and that one is on him."

"He told us that but it's all so new to us. We just wanted her to have a better life and the schools aren't that great. Tony says she won't have to work and he'll take care of her needs so she can go to school and we don't have to worry about her." Jackson smiles,

"Now that they're married it makes Jane part of our family too so if they need help we'll help them as well." This seemed to assure them and soon they headed to where Angela and Frank had a moving van with Jane's things. Kelly helped them move it to a truck Gibbs rented but didn't talk much to Jane. Tony knew she was jealous but thought it would work out. Later when Jane and Kelly were helping Ruth make dinner and Jackson talked with David, Tony, and Gibbs sat down to talk while Nellie took a nap.

"So you're married now. How does it feel?" Tony smiles,

"No different than any other day. We're best friends or we were. When they showed up to give their condolences it felt good to see her. We used to say we would marry each other if we were 20 and not married yet because at 5 being 20 seemed old." Gibbs laugh,

"20 seems like a lifetime ago. Well only 15 years, that's how old I was when you were born. How are Alexandra and Jonathan doing?"

"Yaya is mourning hard but she's glad he didn't convince me to go with him and Nellie. She wants to throw a party for me and Jane later this summer so it's not tied to Dad's death and funeral."

"If you guys go to Stillwater I'm sure the ladies there will still organize something. They love to celebrate anything and Dad's already talking about his grandson and great-granddaughter."

"What does he think of us getting married? It wasn't my plan when I came here though I did ask Uncle Arthur about finding her. When I got cut off from Nonie and Poppy we lost touch too."

"He thinks you're too young but he married my mom young well she was younger than him but it was before he shipped out. How old is Jane?"

"Fifteen. It's my birthday, hers, and then Charlie's. Nonie used to say that's why the three of us got along our birthdays were so close together and Mama would do something for the three of us. Me and Charlie were like brothers and Jane was a sister. I have a question though ... does Kelly have a friend named Maddie Tyer? She's told me about her friend Maddie and I have a cousin who came with her dad my Uncle Jerry for Dad's funeral but I'm not sure if they're the same. Maddie said she lost her best friend and that kid's mom in a car accident which kinda sounds like Kelly and Shannon but ..."

"Yeah, we were at Camp Pendleton with them. Shannon's the one who kept up with all that stuff so I don't know much more. How does he know your family?"

"He went to school with my dad and Uncle Arthur so he's always been my Uncle. His wife Aunt Gracie used to be good friends with my mom but she left them and ... it's a big mess and not my story to tell."

"I'll talk to Jerry tomorrow I know Kelly would like to stay in touch with Maddie."

"Can I ask one more favor? Tomorrow's dad's funeral and then on Sunday I have to go to his house here and clear out the stuff I want from there. My stepmom gets the house and she's going to sell it because she would rather have the money. I have some clothes, things of Mama's and things Dad hid in a safe I want to get. Stella already took what she wanted but she doesn't know about the same and she signed papers I can have whatever I want that's left. At least I don't think she knows about the safe."

"Does Alexandra know about you and Jane? What does she think about her?"

"Yaya loves her and said it's the first thing to make her happy lately. Papa and Dad told her she was pushing me away when she thought I should give up Nellie. Papa thought it might be better but saw how much I wanted her and knew nothing could change my mind. When he came to Alexandria it was to get us to go back with him for a bit including the fourth of July and he was killed instantly and the rest of the car was destroyed. They saw me the day you met them with Nellie and what a happy baby she was and how happy she was when she saw you. She saw it was genuine not just for show."

"We got attached to you and Nellie quicker than I thought and I was going to invite you to come visit after you got emancipated and Dad was going to invite you to Stillwater as well. When they said you would be on your own it seemed natural to invite you to stay with us." Tony smiles,

"I planned to come back though I thought by my birthday you might be tired of us or at least a baby in the house." Gibbs chuckles,

"So did I that's why I wasn't going to say anything until I knew but when it came down to it I knew what I wanted to do." Ruth joins them.

"Alexandra is on the phone and wants to know if you would mind if she joins us for dinner. It's just her she wants to get out of the house for a bit and would like to see you Tonio. She won't come though if either of you mind."

"I don't mind and I know a lot's going on at her house right now." Gibbs agrees.

"If Tony doesn't mind neither do I." When Alexandra got there Gibbs noticed she looked like she aged a lot since he last saw her and figured it was her grief. Tony gave her a big hug and introduced her to Jackson and Kelly.

"Mr. Gibbs, I'm sorry to interrupt your visit but I just ..."

"Call me Jethro or just Gibbs. I don't like the Mister part. It's fine and I'm sure that being stuck with a bunch of visitors gets overwhelming. My wife died in March and it seemed they didn't stop for at least a month." Alexandra groans,

"I hope not or I'll move." They chuckle and Tony goes to get Nellie. "I'm sure this ... the day we met ..."

"I met you before, I know your daughter Stephanie. You came to Stillwater a few times and she helped Anthony and his wife adopt my son. When we met at NIS I get that you wanted to look out for Tony's best interest but he is a good dad and he has a home with us and so does Nellie and now Jane."

"We just want him to go to a good school, study what he wants, travel if he wants. He and Charlie always talked about traveling when they got the trust. Now Junior has a baby and Charlie wants to take a class here for 6 weeks instead of traveling."

"My dreams changed from when I was young until I joined the Marines at 18. There are good private schools Tony can go to that aren't boarding schools in Alexandria. My neighbor runs an in-home daycare and will take care of Nellie during the day." Tony brought Nellie downstairs.

"There's my beautiful great-granddaughter." Tony smiles,

"Yaya, this is Nellie. Nellie, this is Yaya." Nellie grins and then goes with Alexandra.

"She's beautiful and she looks like Junior did as a baby. Well with darker hair and his wasn't nearly as curly." Tony smiles,

"She got that from her mom. She wanted a girl that looked like her and instead, Nellie looks like me."

"Shannon did too and Kelly looks a little like her but more like you and Nellie." Later after everyone left for the night Kelly took a shower and then asked Tony to help her brush out her hair.

"I don't want it all tangled tomorrow." Jane watched him for a minute and Kelly winced before moving him out of the way.

"You're going to scalp her like that. She said brush it out not off her head." Kelly giggles and Tony rolls his eyes.

"Well excuse me for not having a lot of practice on girl's hair."

"Well, you need to learn before you touch Nellie's head. Poor thing won't want any hair at all with how hard you brush."

"I have to comb her hair or she'll cry when Tony tries to." Jane looks at Tony.

"It's not my fault that they have all those tangles. I do my best."

"Do you use conditioner Kelly? That will help with the tangles?"

"Daddy never bought anymore after I ran out. I don't know which one to get and Daddy gets regular shampoo."

"I'll make sure you get some you need for your hair okay?"

"I need a lot of stuff but ..." Tony smiles,

"Some time this week we'll take you two shopping and Jane can help you pick out what you need. You just told your Dad you need shampoo and he doesn't know all that girl stuff."

"That sounds like a good idea I suspect Kelly needs a lot of things." Kelly giggles. "Do you want me to braid your hair, Kelly? I was going to braid mine so it's wavy in the morning."

"Can you? I only have one thing to tie it off though." Kelly shows Jane a stretched-out hair tie and she glares at Tony.

"Don't worry I have more. You can never have enough." When Jane was finishing Kelly's braids Tony could tell Kelly was happy as she hugged them and then went to her room.

"Thank you for helping her. I literally have no experience with girl's hair other than brushing Nellies which is easy but she uses baby shampoo."

"Can I ask you something, Tony?"

"Sure, what's wrong?"

"That guy Gibbs and the guy you call Grandpa are they really okay with us getting married like this? I mean they didn't even know about me and suddenly we're married. They said they are and you said they don't say anything they don't mean but I'm not even Nellie's mom. Did they know her? What will her grandparents from her mom think?"

"They will be at the funeral tomorrow and I'm not sure. Gibbs and Grandpa know I wanted to marry Faith but she died. They both just warned me to be honest with you and not to hurt you. Uncle Arthur told them about the money but they didn't want to bring it up to your parents."

"They think I'm going to get a job to help them and since I don't have to worry about my own cost they're hoping you keep your word about that then I can help them more. Dad said $200 is more than enough and anything else I get or earn should go towards our home and family."

"Or you can put it in a savings account for emergencies. Help with Christmas and birthdays or if something happens. Gibbs and I plan to split the bills and groceries and everyone has a spot for their food."

"You don't share food?" Tony laugh,

"We do but like special food. Say those wafer cookies you used to like. You can get some to keep in your spot and no one will touch them unless you say they can. Or candy or something so you don't have to hide it. It will always be your spot so no one will touch it."

"And for other things?"

"The inside fridge is for normal foods and shared drinks. Then Nellie has a drawer and so does Kelly for their things. Gibbs and I use a fridge in the garage and there's also a deep freezer. It'll make more sense when you see it." Jane lays down as Tony checks on Nellie and Kelly knocks on the door. "Hey Kel, are you okay?"

"I'm hungry. Nonie said I could go down and get a snack but I don't want to go alone." Jane sits up.

"Me too." Tony smiles grabbing the baby monitor.

"I could go for a snack too." They headed down where Ruth was still baking and told her what they wanted so they had some cookies and Ruth, Tony, and Jane shared memories of when they were kids and spent the summers together. Ruth promised to look through some photo albums she had for pictures Liz had kept of the two of them and after their snack everyone headed up for bed knowing there was a long day ahead of them.

A/N: Sorry for the rush of the chapter but I had a future story idea of Jane and Tony running into each other in Paris and needed some backstory to fit how they knew each other.
