Coinvent that I managed to get this finished on the day Rooster Teeth shuts down. I have heard things are looking good for RWBY so I'm not too worried. We just need to be patience as things go forward.

Disclaimer: Harry Potter belongs to J.K. Rowling. Currently nobody owns RWBY but I sure as hell can't afford it.

Blake opened up the book and her eyes lit up. "Alright. This chapter is called Quidditch," she told everyone.

Nora cheered, excited to see this game in action. Ren also looked excited despite his reserved nature. Ruby was also cheering while Yang gave a fist pump. Jaune was practically vibrating in his seat. Pyrrah had to place a hand on his shoulder to calm him. Weiss rolled her eyes at her classmate's antics but she too was looking forward to the game.

October turns into November with a blast of cold air. The ice on top of the mountains surrounding the school turned gray and the lake felt like chilled steel. Hagrid could be seen in the mornings bundled up on the Quidditch pitch defrosting broomsticks. Harry's first game was on Saturday against Slytherin house.

The Beacon students winced. "Why do I get the feeling this is not going to be a pretty game?" Nora asked.

"Cause the Slytherins are jerks," Yang answered.

"Hey! I'm sure those on the team will be able to play a fair game," Weiss defended.

"Let's hope you're right Weiss," Ruby said.

No one saw Harry play yet because Wood wanted him to be the team's secret weapon. However, the news leaked out somehow and people either said that he would be great, or that they would be following underneath him with a mattress. Harry didn't know which one was worse.

"I'd say the mattress. Have some faith, people," Jaune said.

Harry was really happy that he and Hermione are friends now as he wasn't sure how he'd get all of his homework done without her. Especially with all the last minute practice Wood had them doing.

"Seriously Wood? It's only the first game and it's just a game. You can't interfere with your teammates' grades!" Weiss shouted.

Hermione even let Harry borrow Quidditch Through the Ages which was actually really interesting to read. There was lots of interesting trivia there like how there are seven hundred ways to commit a foul and all of them happened in the 1473 World cup.

"How did the players have time to commit seven hundred fouls?" Ruby asked.

"Well Wood did say that the game only ends when the snitch is caught so it must have been a pretty long one," Blake assumed.

Most of the serious accidents happen to the Seekers.

"Yeah that should calm Harry of his nerves," Jaune muttered sarcastically.

And while it's very rare that someone actually dies in a game, it's pretty common for the referees to disappear and turn up after a few months in the desert.

"How on Remnant?" Weiss started to wonder before she changed her mind. "You know what, it's magic. I'm not going to question it."

Hermione wound up becoming more lenient when it comes to rule breaking after Harry and Ron saved her from the troll and was much nicer to them.

"That's good to hear," Nora said.

"She does need someone to help mellow her out," Pyrrha said.

"And at the same time, she'll be able to rein the boys in when things get out of hand," Weiss added.

The day before Harry's first match, the trio were out in the snowy courtyard. Hermione had conjured up a small blue flame that could be carried around in a jar and they were using it to keep them warm.

"Wow. That's amazing," Ruby said breathlessly.

Snape then came into the courtyard and Harry couldn't help but notice that he was limping.

All the Beacon students groaned. "And the happy moment ruined," Nora complained.

"Wonder what happened to his leg," Blake pondered.

"Don't know. Don't care," Yang waved off.

The trio tried to hide the fire as it likely wouldn't be allowed but something about them caught Snape's attention anyway and he limped over asking what Harry had. It was the Quidditch Through the Ages book. Snape confiscated it and docked five points from Gryffindor saying that library books weren't allowed to be taken outside of the school.

"Okay I don't go to Hogwarts and I know he made up that rule," Ren said.

"What's his problem?" Jaune asked.

"It's like he goes out of his way just to make Harry miserable," Blake said.

Harry knew for a fact that Snape was lying before asking what happened with his leg. Ron wasn't sure but hoped it was hurting Snape.

"Frankly a hurt leg is the least he deserves," Nora mumbled. Ren lightly scolded her but secretly agreed as well.

That night in the noisy common room, Hermione was checking over Ron's and Harry's charms homework with Ron nearby. Harry was pacing relentlessly, wanting Quidditch Through the Ages back to calm his nerves down. Figuring he had no reason to be afraid of Snape, he told Ron and Hermione that he was going to get it back. They responded with "Better you than me."

"Showing real loyalty there," Pyrrha said with an eye roll but there was no venom in her voice.

"Those are Hufflepuffs Pyrrha. Gryffindors are brave," Jaune reminded her.

"Oh right," Pyrrha admonished with a blush.

Harry guessed that if there were other teachers there listening in then Snape wouldn't try anything. He knocked on the door to the staff room but no one answered. He tried again with the same result.

"Guess Snape went back into his office," Ren figured.

"Maybe Harry should just give it up then," Yang said.

Thinking Snape left the book in there Harry opened the door and was met with a disturbing sight. Snape and Filch were in there and Snape was holding his robe above his knees.

"Woah! Woah! Woah! I don't need to hear any of that," Nora shouted.

"The image is in my brain!" Jaune yelled.

"I seriously need some brain bleach," Pyrrha said.

"Ditto," Ren grumbled.

Blake didn't say anything but blush a deep red. Weiss just looked appalled that this was in what she believed was targeted towards older children/young teens.

"There are innocent children here!" Yang cried out and grabbed Ruby's head, making sure to cover her ears.

"What are you guys talking about?" Ruby asked. "Filch is probably helping Snape patch up his leg. Though I don't see why he doesn't just go up to Madam Pomfrey."

"For Brother's sake Ruby I hope you're right," Pyrrha said.

One of Snape's legs was mangled and covered in blood. Filch was handing him some bandages.

Everyone except for Ruby breathed out a sigh of relief. "That's a relief," Ren said.

"The author could have worded that better," Blake said and found an envelope appear on top of the page.

Or maybe you all just need to get your minds out of the gutter.

"SHUT UP!" everyone but Ruby yelled. Ruby just tilted her head in confusion.

Snape was cursing the dog wanting to know how he's meant to keep his eyes on all three heads at once.

Everyone winced. "So it was the dog that got to him," Yang said.

"And Dumbledore has this thing in a building full of children," Weiss scoffed.

"On the plus side if Snape can't get past that dog then that means the stone is safe," Jaune assured.

"I just wished that dog swallowed Snape whole," Nora said. Ren proceeded to scold her while Blake got back to the book.

Harry tried to quietly shut the door but was found out. Deciding to go for it anyway, Harry asked if he could have his book back but Snape just yelled at him to get out. Harry took off running in an instant.

The Beacon students laughed. "Even after seeing how furious Snape was Harry still had the gall to ask for the book back," Ruby said in between giggles.

"He's a Gryffindor alright," Ren said.

When Harry made it back to the common room he told Ron and Hermione what he saw.

"Hopefully he didn't word it the same way the book did," Weiss grumbled so low that no one really heard her save for Blake with her cat ears.

Harry deduced that he was trying to get past the dog on Halloween and probably even let the troll in to keep the school distracted. Hermione had her doubts. While Snape was far from a nice person he wouldn't go stealing anything Dumbledore was trying to keep safe. Ron was on Harry's side, mocking Hermione for thinking all teachers are saints. He did have a question though. What is it that the dog is guarding that Snape wants?

"I mean the only reason we know the answer is because it's in the title of the book. How on Remnant are these three supposed to figure it out?" Weiss asks.

"Maybe they'll get lucky," Jaune hoped.

"Knowing how much of a reader Hermione is she'll likely come across it in a book and hopefully put two and two together," Blake said.

The next morning held clear skies and cold temperatures. Everyone was in the Great Hall early, wanting to get some breakfast before the Quidditch match later today. Ron and Hermione and even Seamus were trying to get Harry to eat something. But he was too nervous to work up an appetite.

"Yeah, real help you are Seamus," Nora said, remarking about what Seamus said earlier.

"Maybe he shouldn't eat so much since he's going to be flying around on his broom. That can't be good for the stomach," Jaune said.

"Yeah I'd bet you'd be the expert on that wouldn't you Vomit Boy," Yang teased. Jaune huffed and crossed his arms.

Pyrrah decided to help her leader save face. "He is right though. No telling what kind of maneuvers he has to pull while he's on his broom."

By eleven o'clock all the students were sitting on the stands at the pitch. Several of them even brough binoculars. Even with the stands so high it's hard to see the action sometimes. Ron, Hermione, Neville, Dean, and Seamus were in the top row with a bed sheet that Scabbers had ruined some time ago. It read Potter for President and had a drawing of a lion underneath courtesy of Dean. Hermione did a charm that allowed the paint to randomly change colors.

"That is so cool!" Ruby gushed.

"Harry's got nothing to worry about now," Nora cheered.

Over in the locker room, Harry and the rest of his team were changing into their scarlet robes with Slytherin being in green robes. Wood cleared his throat to ask for silence and gave a speech telling his men (and women after a comment from one of their chasers Angelina) Wood told them that this was it. Fred and George chimed in that it's the big one. The one they've all been waiting for.

"How do the twins know he was going to say that?" Weiss asked, annoyed. Blake gave a snort as she read the next line.

Fred told Harry that they were on the team last year so they know Wood's speech by heart.

Everyone gave a chuckle at the book inadvertently answering Weiss' question. Weiss didn't dignify anyone with a response and just rolled her eyes.

Wood told the twins to hush, before going on to say that this is the best team that Gryffindor has had in years and he just knows they're going to win. The glare in his eyes gave an unspoken 'or else'.

Ruby gulped at what that implied. Yang, sensing her sister's discomfort, said "Okay that guy really needs to take a chill pill."

Harry went out of the locker room onto the cheering field hoping his knees wouldn't give away. Madam Hooch, the referee, was already on the pitch with her broom in her hand. She told the captains to shake hands and insisted that they play a nice clean game. That seemed to be mainly directed at the Slytherin captain Marcus Flint. If Harry didn't know any better, he'd say Marcus had a bit of troll blood in him.

"You really think the Slytherins are going to try and play dirty?" Jaune asked.

"If it were anyone other than the Gryffindors? Probably," Ren said.

"I don't think the Gryffindors will try anything so long as Slytherin doesn't provoke them," Blake said.

The players mount their brooms. Madam Hooch blows her whistle. And the game started. Angeleia from the Gryffindor team is the first to snag the Quaffle according to the games commentator Lee Jordan, who also comments on how pretty Angelia is. McGonagall quickly reprimands him for that.

Everyone except for Weiss and Pyrrha laughed at that. Though Pyrrha was amused.

Angeleia passes the Quaffle over to her teammate Alicia who then passes it back to her but Slytherin intercepts at that moment and Marcus gains the Quaffle. He makes his shot at the goal post but Wood is able to block it and passes it to Katie who dives around Marcus. One of the Weasley twins sends a bludger his way (Lee isn't sure which) allowing Katie to pass it back to Angeleia. She speeds to the other end. Dodges a bludger. Makes her shot. The Slytherin keeper misses. GRYFFINDOR SCORES!

All of team RWBY and JNPR cheer at the first goal. "Oh this is so exciting!" Ruby said, petals vibrating off of her.

"Yeah, these chasers really know what they're doing," Yang said.

"But where's Harry at?" Nora wondered. "I wanna see him in action too."

"Probably staying out of the way until he sees the snitch," Jaune guessed. "It would be the best strategy so Harry doesn't get in harm's way too soon."

Over in the stands, Ron and Hermione are joined by Hagrid who was trying to watch from his hut before he decided to join the crowd. He asks if anything happened with Harry yet and Ron remarks that he hasn't done anything yet. Indeed Harry just glided the pitch from above the others keeping an eye out on the snitch. Wood's main plan with him was to stay out of sight until he spotted it.

"Look at that Jaune. You were right," Ruby praised her friend.

Harry did a couple of loop-the-loops to let off some nerves and dodged a bludger that came his way before going back to trying to find the snitch. Lee was talking about how the Slytherin team had the Quaffle with the Chaser, Pucey, dodging both bludgers, both Weasleys, and Katie Bell before asking if that was the snitch he saw. Causing Pucey to drop the Quaffle.

Everyone grew excited as it seemed like it was time to play Harry's part.

Harry spotted it along with the Slytherin seeker Terence Higgs. The two were neck in neck as they raced towards the little gold ball. The chasers stopped what they were doing. Too enamored with watching the seekers.

"Just because the Seekers are in action doesn't mean you should stop playing," Pyrrha groaned.

Harry starts to inch past Higgs, he could see the snitch darting just up ahead. Harry puts on an extra burst of speed when WHAM!

Everyone jumped at Blake's volume. "Wait. 'Wham'?" Ren asked.

"What happened?" Nora wondered.

"Is Harry okay?" Ruby asked.

"If you guys can stop talking so I can read," Blake said. The others mumbled an apology and Blake found where she left off.

Marcus Flint blocked Harry's path forcing Harry off course and nearly off his broom.

"That cheater!" Yang cried out, hair flaring up.

"Is he crazy? He could have nearly hurt himself and Harry," Weiss said.

"There is no way Madam Hooch is going to let him get away with that," Jaune said.

All the Gryffindors cried foul and Madam Hooch yelled at Flint before awarding a penalty shot to Gryffindor. Despite this though, the snitch had vanished in all the comotion.

"Which was what he wanted," Nora grumbled.

Dean was trying to tell Madam Hooch to send Flint off via a Red Card which he explained to Ron was what you do in soccer when you send a player out of the game. Ron reminded Dean that this wasn't soccer, but Hagrid agreed that they should change the rules some.

"Or install more safety features into the brooms," Ruby suggested.

"Unless you can fit an airbag into those things I don't think that's possible," Yang countered.

Lee was being unbiased in his commentary much to McGonagall's frustrations before he calmed down and continued on with Gryffindor still holding the Quaffle.

The others were snickering at Lee's commentary. "You know, not that I'm saying Lee is not doing a good job because he is, but if McGonagall wanted an unbiased commentator, why not do it herself or have one of the other staff do it?" Pyrrah wondered.

"I doubt the teachers would make it as exciting as Lee does," Nora said. "Or any of the other students."

Harry dodged another bludger when his broom started acting up for some strange reason. It started lurching uncontrollably, as though it was trying to buck Harry off of it. Harry tried to steer it but he had completely lost control.

The joy in the room was quickly replaced with tension. "Um, what's going on?" Jaune asked.

"Is this another tactic from the Slytherins?" Yang guessed.

"I don't think they brought any of their wands with them," Blake said.

"Plus it would be difficult to aim a spell while playing a game that high up in the air," Pyrrah figured.

"Not to mention it would likely disqualify them from the whole game," Weiss added. "They wouldn't risk that."

No one noticed at first with Lee still commentating, but then Hagrid says something about it thinking Harry's lost control of his broom but it couldn't be. Everyone else starts to notice too as Harry's broom starts to barrel roll several times with him nearly hanging on with one hand for dear life.

"Somebody grab him!" Ruby screeched.

Seamus wondered if Flint did something after he blocked Harry but Hagrid states that this is some powerful dark magic. Nothing a student Flint's age would be able to do.

"So an adult snuck into the grounds somehow?" Yang guessed.

"Or it could be one of the teachers," Pyrrah believed, narrowing her eyes.

Ruby caught on to what her friend was thinking. "Wait, you don't think..."

"Well who else do we know who hates Harry and would be strong enough to do something like that?" Yang asked. Ruby was conflicted. Sure Snape clearly hates Harry with a passion but he was still a teacher. He wouldn't want anything happening to any of the students. Right?

At Hagrid's words, Hermione made a grab for his binoculars and used them to scan the crowd. Ron asked what she was doing but Hermione let out a gasp and handed the binoculars to Ron, telling him to check Snape. Ron aimed the binoculars over where the staff was and found Snape with his eyes fixed on Harry, muttering under his breath.

"Okay, first he tries to get through the third floor corridor after a troll somehow got in and now he's trying to kill Harry during a Quidditch match," Weiss recounts.

.

"What if he's not trying to kill him?" Ruby defended. "What if he's trying to save him?"

"Yeah but this is happening after Harry found him trying to patch his leg while complaining to Filch that he got it from that dog," Yang reminded her. "I'm with Weiss, this is too much of a coincidence." Yang smacked her mouth as if tasting something. "That felt strange to say."

"Hey!" Weiss remarked.

"But with all this commotion no one else is going to notice," Nora pointed out. "Will Harry be okay?"

Hermione tells Ron what she sees and gets an idea running off to where the teachers are sitting.

"Good. She can point out Snape's actions to the others," Pyrrah said.

Ron turned his attention back to Harry who was barely hanging on to his broom by this point. The twins were flying up to try and grab Harry but the broom just kept flying away from him. His team eventually just circled underneath him so they can catch him when he eventually lets go. Flint meanwhile had grabbed the Quaffle and made five goals without anyone seeing.

Everyone rolled their eyes but didn't say anything. Not like those goals would count since no one saw.

Ron begged under his breath for Hermione to hurry up. Hermione meanwhile had made her way over to where the teachers were. She ran so fast she didn't even stop to apologize to Professor Quirrell when she accidently knocked him over. Crouching down low, she pulled out her wand and aimed it at the hems of Snape's robes. Muttering under her breath she performed the same small blue flame charm she did last night.

Everyone was silent at the witch's actions. "Or she could do that," Pyrrah muttered. At those words the rest of the room save for Weiss broke out laughing.

"Damn Hermione. I didn't know you had it in you," Yang said after she caught her breath and wiped away her tears.

Thirty seconds later, Snape noticed what was happening and started to yelp. Hermione quickly scooped up the fire into a jar that she kept in her pocket before rushing back to Ron and Hagrid. No one the wiser of her actions.

"Didn't Quirrell notice?" Ren asked.

"Let's hope not," Jaune replied.

It was all the time Harry needed to regain control of his broom and head straight for the ground. Ron told Neville it was safe to look again as the round-faced boy had hidden his face in Hagrid's coat.

"Don't blame him," Jaune mumbled.

Harry made it to the ground safely and it brought his hand to his mouth.

"Did he get sick?" Weiss asked.

"After getting jostled around on his broom like that I would not be surprised," Jaune said.

Harry got down on all fours and started coughing. A golden ball fell out of his mouth and into his hands.

"What?" everyone asked. Including Blake who still had the book.

Harry stood back up and loudly announced that he caught the Snitch.

"WHAT?!" Everyone cried out before Nora bursted out laughing again.

"Did he just nearly swallow the Snitch?" Nora asked as she gasped for breath.

"It must have flown in his mouth while the broom was acting up," Ren figured.

"So does that mean Gryffindor wins?" Jaune asks.

"Seems like it," Blake responded reading the next paragraph.

Flint was complaining about how Harry nearly swallowed the Snitch but according to Lee, no rules were broken. Gryffindor won the game 170 to 60.

"Alright!" Jaune cheered.

"Way to go Harry!" Nora shouted.

Harry didn't hear any of that though as he was down in Hagrid's hut with Ron and Hermione who were telling him about Snape's actions. Hagrid (who didn't pay attention to what the two said back in the stands) didn't believe them. Wondering why he would even do something like that.

"See! Hagrid's on my side," Ruby said.

"We're not saying he did it Ruby," Yang assured. "But it does seem suspicious. And he is still a jerk."

Harry told Hagrid about hearing Snape trying to get past the three-headed dog on Halloween. Hagrid dropped his teapot in shock, asking how he knew about Fluffy.

"Fluffy?" everyone asked.

"Wait, does that mean that giant dog belongs to him?" Weiss asks.

"Of all the things to name it and he goes with that?" Blake said in disbelief.

"How did he even get that anyway?" Ren wondered.

The kids were surprised at the name and Hagrid reveals that it belongs to him. Having bought it from a 'Greek chappie' down at the pub.

"Greek?" Weiss asked. Blake quickly found an envelope providing the answer.

A native person from a country called Greece.

Weiss nodded and Blake kept reading.

Hagrid then went on to say he lent it to Dumbledore to guard the-, he stopped and Harry tried to get him to continue but Hagrid just said it was top secret. Harry believes Snape is trying to steal it.

"Well someone is at least," Nora said.

"Agreed, whether or not it's Snape or he's trying to stop the real culprit though we'll have to find out," Pyrrha said.

Hagrid tried to tell them that he's wrong as he is a teacher. Hermione countered about how Snape just tried to kill Harry (the incident having swayed her over to Harry and Ron's thinking) telling him about jinxes. You're supposed to keep eye contact the whole time and Snape never blinked once.

"Definitely not looking good for him," Blake mused.

Hagrid insisted that the trio was wrong. While he doesn't know what happened to Harry's broom he's certain Snape would never do such a thing. He warns the children that they are butting into things that's none of their business and asks them to forget about the dog and what it's guarding. That's something between Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel.

"Who?" Nora asked.

"I don't know but Hagrid should learn to keep his mouth shut," Weiss said. "He keeps letting things like this slip."

Harry questioned the name while Hagrid became furious with himself.

"The chapter is over," Blake announced, marking the page and closing the book. "Yang, your turn."

"This is the last one of the night right?" Yang asks. The others nodded.

"You know I feel like we've heard the name Flamel before," Pyrrha mused.

"If it's important it'll come again soon enough," Jaune assured her. Pyrrha nodded but she still couldn't shake this feeling off.
