Strong Reasoning for Sporty Motivation
In the short times since Akko started her high school year in UA High, she has gotten to know that Ochaco is a cheerful and supportive girl who cares for her friends with the bravery to make her what a hero is.
But right now, in this very moment, Ochaco suddenly became different with this dark aura and that frightening look on her face.
"Ochaco… Is everything okay?" Akko asked.
"Seriously, what's up? You're normally, like, the most laid-back girl ever." Mina asked, wondering what has gotten into this girl.
Minoru was about to say something perverted and gross, so Tsuyu slapped him on the face with her tongue to stop that from happening.
"Everyone! I'm gonn do my best!" Ochaco shouted with her fist in the air and determination, this got the four classmates to cheer "Yeah" for her.
Then Ochaco turn to the other classmates with the same fierce look.
"I said, I'm gonna do my best!" Ochaco shouted which got the boys to nervously raise their fists too.
"You okay? You kinda look like you're losin' it." Eijiro asked concern.
"It almost looks like she just unleashes her inner demon. Must be some nerve for the Sports Festival." Diana commented.
"(Now that I think about it. There's something I've been meaning to ask her.)" Izuku thought believed this would be a good time to ask her.
"Hey Izuku, I have Recovery Girl on speed dial. Just say the word and we'll get her a checkup." Akko whispered in Izuku's ear with her IPhone out.
"No! I don't think that's necessary." Izuku said.
And so, the three friends of Class 1-A went off to the cafeteria and soon are joined by Sucy and Loette as they introduce themselves to Tenya and Ochaco before Izuku decided to finally ask her that question.
"Hey, Ochaco?" Izuku said.
"What's up?" Ochaco responded.
"Why did you decide to come to UA? What made you wanna be a pro hero?" Izuku asked the question. This causes Ochaco to flinch a bit and her cheeks blush a tiny bit.
"Oh! Well… Because…" Ochaco felt nervous to tell him and the others this.
"What's wrong? Embarrassing childhood stuff that you don't want to talk about?" Sucy asked.
Ochaco thought it wouldn't hurt a little just to tell them about her reason to become a hero and told them.
"Uh… For the money? You wanna be a hero so you can get rich?" Izuku was surprised to hear that coming from such a nice girl like Ochaco.
"If we're cutting to the chase, then yeah." Ochaco said, rubbing the back of her head.
"I'm sorry if it sounds greedy. You three have such admirable motivations. I hope you don't think less of me now." Ochaco felt ashamed of having good friends while being greedy for some cash.
"Not at all. Your goal is to support your wellbeing which is a perfectly admirable ambition to have." Tenya pointed out that some have to look out for themselves.
"Yeah, it just kind of surprising." Izuku nodded.
"Although I'll be honest, I was a little worried about you becoming like a greedy girl who only cares about the money. But remembering the kind of girl you are, I know it's something else." Akko believed.
"I can only imagine what she would do with all the money. Buy lifetime supply of mochi!" Sussy teased her with a joke.
"I don't think it's about wanting all the sweets she wants." Loette doubted, not seeing the joke from Sussy.
"So, why exactly are you doing this for the money?" Akko asked curiously.
"Well, you see, my family owns a construction company, but we haven't gotten any work lately, so we're flat broke. Anyway, this isn't really something I usually tell other people, but…" Ochaco explained the reason for her goal.
"Construction, eh?" Tenya does some thinking on this.
"If your family is having trouble with the business than it must be because there aren't any things to help repair and build things. Not to mention the expenses of the equipment and such." Loette said.
"If she got licensed, I bet she could use her Quirk to bring costs down a lot." Izuku figured that out.
"And they could sell their heavy-lifting equipment. She could float everything." Tenya added this.
"That would mean her family wouldn't have trouble with their money problem." Akko understood all of that.
"I know, right? I've been telling Dad that since I was a kid!" Ochaco said, glad to see her friends are agreeing with her.
"But…" Ochaco started to explain what her dad said back then.
(Flashback)
"You want to work for us?" Ochaco's dad asked surprise.
"When I grow up all big and strong, I'll help you and Mommy out any way that I can." Little Ochaco expressed her goal for her parents with tears on the verge of coming down.
Ochaco's dad smile that his daughter wants to help them that much.
"I really appreciate the though, Ochaco. But as your dad, I'd be even happier if you achieved your dream. That's the way to make us happy and if you do make money, you can take us to Hawaii or something!" Ochaco's Dad smiled.
"Daddy…" Ochaco clutched onto her skirt.
(Flashback End)
"I'm gonna become a hero. I'll sign with a good agency and make plenty of money. Then I'll be able to let my parents have an easy life!" Ochaco determined to see this goal through to the end.
Hearing what Ochaco's family has been going through and the very reason for her becoming a hero all for the sake her parents, this brought them in such a mood like they could burst into tears at any moment, and that is happening with Akko.
"Ochaco! You're such a kind soul!" Akko exclaimed.
"Oh, beautiful! How noble! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!" Tenya clapped his hands, mood by Ochaco's noble goal.
"Damn, I think I'm actually crying over here." Loette smiled while wiping away a single tear.
"You know, some of the other non-Hero Course students were shocked to hear that Class 1-A got attacked by villains and some are even jealous about fighting them. But you guys are okay in my book." Sussy mentioned.
"(She's not here because of some hero fantasy. She's more grounded than any of us.)" Izuku thought amazed of how amazing Ochaco of caring for others such as her parents and wanting to give them a vacation and not have to worry about money.
"Young Midoriya and Younga Kagari are here!" All Might suddenly burst into the scene with Shiny Chariot right next to him.
"Hey kids, how are you doing?" Shiny Chariot asked with a wink.
"It's our hero teachers!" Akko gasped.
"No way, we're finally meeting the great Magic Quirk User in the entire world!" Loette squealed with excitement.
"Akko, she's even more amazing in person like a bright sun being this close!" Sussy commented.
"I know, I felt the same way when I first met her!" Akko nodded, not referring to before the new school year in UA High.
"Can I have him your autograph?" Loette asked, holding out a notebook with one blank page.
"Of course, anything for a fan." Shin Chariot said while signing the page with her signature.
"All Might! What are you and Shiny doing here?" Izuku asked.
" Lunch! Ya wanna eat with us?"All Might asked, holding up his box lunch.
"That's adorable!" Ochaco gasped at the scene.
"What do you two say?" All Might asked.
Akko and Izuku were surprised at first that their mentors are asking them to have lunch with them, probably want to hang out with their young successors, but it's also something they want to have a talk with them about.
They turn to their friends who gave them a nod saying they're fine with it.
"Sure thing!" Izuku answered.
"Let's all have a good lunch together!" Akko smiled.
"(Is something wrong?)" Izuku thought wondered if this has something to do with All Might's power and time limit.
(Cafeteria)
As usual, the cafeteria is packed with students from the Hero course and other courses too, Luna and the others are waiting in line while talking about a certain subject.
"I wonder what they wanted with Deku and Akko." Ochaco asked, feeling very curious about the Number 1 Hero and the witch hero wanted to have a lunch date with Izuku and Akko.
"It just raises a flag of mystery." Sussy commented.
"I heard that when All Might was attacked by villains during the USJ incident, both Midoriya and Kagari jumped in to help him. Perhaps that's what this is about." Tenya recalled what he heard from some police and the students who were there at the time.
"Oh yeah!" Ochaoc remembered that too.
"Akko told us about that, it was when All Might and Shiny Chariot got tired from fighting the villains." Loette mentioned.
"Also, remember what Asui said on the bus?" Tenya asked Ochaco, bringing up the time Tsuyu asked the two a question about both of them.
(Flashback)
"It just your powers, Izuku's strength is a lot like All Might's and your wand bears a striking resembles to Shiny Chariot's wand which she hasn't been seen with lately." Tsuyu pointed out.
(Flashback End)
"Yes, Akko did show us her new wand sometime ago. She said that it transformed into the Shiny Rod because of her desire to become a great witch hero like Shiny Chariot." Sussy mentioned.
"Since their Quirks are so similar to each other, it's possible that All Might's taken a liking to Midoriya. Same with Shiny Chariot having the same interest in Kagari." Tenya pointed out.
"Wow, they're so lucky!" Loette smiled.
Shoto who is a few feet in front of the group within the line overheard the conversation with how All Might is having lunch with Izuku and Leo right now.
"(All Might and Shiny Chariot with Izuku Midoriya and Atsuko Kagari, huh?)" Shoto thought wondered what could be going on with them.
"Only 50 minutes?!" Izuku was shocked to hear what All Might said.
"Your time was cut down?!" Akko gasped in worry.
"Yeah, that's about how long I can use my power now. I overdid it too many times." Toshinori said while making some tea.
"That Nomu was a real tough customer. He took a lot out of me. At this point, I can barely even look like All Might for an hour and a half." Toshinori explained.
"As for me, I'm still pretty worn out from that fight with Shigaraki using to push myself with my Quirk. But even when I'm recovered, my Magic Quirk won't be as strong as it used to be." Chariot explained about herself.
"I'm so sorry. I should've just—" Izuku's apologizing was cut off when Toshinori suddenly laughs while blood was coming out of his mouth.
"You don't need to apologize for anything! Man, we are alike, you and me." Toshinori smiled.
"Yeah, it's almost like he was our son inheriting the special traits from you." Chariot laughed a little.
"Here you are, little ones. Fresh, hot tea." Chariot placed the two cups of tea in front of the two kids.
"Thank you." Akko thanked as she took the cup in her hands.
"Anyway, we're here to talk about the upcoming UA Sports Festival." Chariot revealed.
"The problem is you both still can't fully control your Quirks yet." Toshinori pointed out.
"I know, my magic is still being difficult for some reason. But I promise I'll get around that!" Akko promised with a determined face.
"That's good to hear. And what about you, Izuku? What's your plan?" Chariot asked the green hair boy.
Izuku thought for a second and remember something.
"I'm not sure yet, I haven't thought about much on how to improve my control over One for All." Izuku said, feeling stump with this subject.
"If only there was a way for you two try using a small part of that power and work your way up to the max so that you wouldn't have to hurt yourself anymore." Akko sighed.
"But I do remember what Thirteen said back before the villains attacked USJ." Akko mentioned.
(Flashback)
"I'm sure you're aware that I have a powerful Quirk. It's called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust." Thirteen mentioned her Quirk.
"But my Quirk could also very easily be used to kill." Thirteen said which shocked the students that she would say such a thing.
(Flashback End)
"Using our Quirks against real people for the first time. It was scary, but I knew we have to at least defend ourselves if we wanted to survive." Akko stated.
"It was such an ordeal to you guys. You and your classmates are the bravest bunch to have come here." Chariot complimented.
"Your tea is getting cold." Toshinori said to Izuku, and he took it.
"To be frank, I don't have much time left as the world's Symbol of Peace. Soon, I'll have to put that title to bed." Toshinori stated, getting up and looking out through the window staring at the city.
"No way…" Izuku muttered, fearing that what his mentor said is the truth.
"Does that mean you'll have to retire too?" Akko asked Chariot.
"I might stay Hero working for a little longer than Toshinori, but yeah. I will have to retire eventually, and then the mightiest witch hero will be no more." Chariot said.
"And some villains out there are startin' to notice that. Someone has to step up and keep the people safe." Toshinori said.
"More like some people, like you two." Chariot said.
This causes Akko and Izuku to stand up from their chairs feeling something big is coming their way from their mentors.
"Young Midoriya, I gave you my power for one reason: Cause you will be the hero who takes my place." Toshinori said strongly, looking back on the words Izuku said to him during their ten months of training for the UA entrance exam.
(Flashback)
Izuku is laying on the ground with Toshinori looking over him, the boy clutching his fingers on the dirt of the ground.
"I want to be the greatest hero in the world! I want to save people just like you do. When they see my fearless smile, they'll feel safe." Izuku declared, determined to become that very hero.
(Flashback End)
"Do you still feel the same way you did when we met? Do you still wanna be a hero?" Toshinori asked.
"Yes!" Izuku nodded with strength in his eyes.
"Akko, you told me about how you wanted to use magic to make people laugh. To make them feel happy together even in an hour of despair." Chariot mentioned as Akko remembers that as well.
(Flashback)
Akko is laying on her back on the ground of a forest and Chariot is hovering over her on her broom.
"I… I want to bring smiles to everyone. To bring joy into the hearts of many even when darkness is trying to hurt them, I'll be a hero who can bring them the magic of joy just like you!" Akko shouted with determination.
Chariot smiles at the girl.
(Flashback End)
"Do you still want to bring joy to the people?" Chariot asked.
"Yes!" Akko nodded.
"Excellent. The time has come for you to prove it." Toshinori said, proud to see them on board.
"This sports festival: it's something that pros—no, the entire country will be watching very closely." Toshinori mentioned, making Izuku and Akko feel intense.
"I want you two to think of this sports festival as your debut. You are the fledgling Symbol of Peace. The next All Might as duet!" Toshinori believed in Izuku.
"And you will show the world the magic girl who will surpass the great Shiny Chariot as the witch of the world!" Chariot believed in Akko.
"Both of you possesses mysterious power that can only be unleash and you two are connected through souls or whatever the case, that means something out there is for you to face." Toshinori stated.
"So, we want you to introduce yourselves to the world and proudly say "I am here!" Chariot instructed.
Izuku and Akko suddenly feel like something is waving over their shoulders, a huge task has been given to them and now it is up to them to carry on this task in showing everyone in the country what kind of heroes they are thriving for.

Izuku and Akko have gone to lunch with All Might and Shiny Chariot to share with them some news about themselves and giving them an important task in showing themselves in the UA Sports Festival that it's gonna be their own debut and show them that they are here!
