Daughter of the Deadman III

Hey, guys. TSG here. I'm finally back with another chapter of DoD III. You can blame life for the delay here. It has been kicking my ass since August and I wasn't in the best place. I am so sorry to make you all wait.

Thanks to: Wolfgirl2013 and Dean's Country Angel who left reviews on the last chapter. Thanks guys.

I also have to thank Dean's Country Angel for helping me out with this! You are awesome, girl.

See ya at the bottom!

Chapter 41: Promo of a Lifetime

Angel paced at Gorilla Position. She had never been more nervous about a promo since her very first one. It wasn't talking in front of people that had her so scared. She was used to that by now and it didn't make her scared anymore. It had gotten even easier since she had been blinded, oddly enough. But what had her so nervous was that she had no idea what she was going to say.

"Would you stop pacing? You're making us all dizzy" Kristy said.

"Too bad. This is the most important promo of my damn life and I have no idea what to say. I'm nervous, so I'm going to pace. Deal with it" Angel said as she walked past her best friend.

"Wow. Snapping at Kristy. You really are nervous" Dean said.

"Don't, Dean. Listen, sweetheart. You're going to be fine. This is going to sound a little corny, but if you have to, speak from the heart" Roman said.

"That does sound corny…on the other hand, you're probably right. I think I need to speak as Angel Calaway the person and not a character for this one" Angel said, giving Roman a hug.

Just as she pulled away, her music hit. Angel took a deep breath and walked out to the ring, still wearing the Divas Title. Fans were screaming and the males were wolf whistling at her again, making her blush. Angel stepped into the ring and asked for a microphone.

"OK, before I start, I'd like to ask something. I would like to ask all the other Divas to join me in the ring" she said.

She waited. All of the Divas walked out and stood on the ring apron or in the ring. Even though she didn't see eye to eye with all of them, they were all glad to be there for this moment anyway. Angel took a deep breath.

"Alright, I am about to break the fourth wall. I am not speaking to you as the Dead Girl or as Angel the character. I am speaking as Angel the person because this moment is important to me and it's important to all the Women here" she said.

The fans cheered. The Women cheered too. Angel smiled. She felt her nervousness subsiding and her confidence coming back. She took another deep breath.

"I'm going to get right to the point. From this point on, the Women in WWE will no longer be called Divas. We will be called WWE Superstars just like the guys. With that said, I'd like to ask Nikki Bella to step in here" Angel said.

The fans cheered as Nikki Bella stepped into the ring, hesitating slightly. Angel couldn't blame her. She made no bones about the fact that she was not a fan of Nikki even though she tried her best to get along with everyone she worked with. Angel pulled the Diva's Title off her waist.

"Now, Nikki, I know you and I don't exactly see eye to eye and we're not friends. That being said, I wanted to give this back to you" Angel said.

She folded up the Diva's Title Belt up and handed it over to Nikki. Nikki looked really confused. She didn't understand what Angel was doing or why she was doing it. The fans were cheering. They knew what Angel was doing and why.

"Nikki, this is your title. With the introduction of a new title, your record with the Diva's Title will stand forever. For those of you that don't know, Nikki Bella was the Diva's Champ here in WWE for a total of three hundred and one days. Therefore, rather than throw this title in the trash or just leave it here or throw it aside like it means nothing, I would rather Nikki have it" Angel said.

Nikki nodded. Then the two of them actually hugged in the ring. Nikki stepped back. Angel took another deep breath. This was the nerve-wracking part that she was not looking forward to.

"Now, with that done, I would like to reveal the new WWE Women's Championship. This particular belt was custom made for me and as such, I will carry it until such time as I lose. When that happens—and I know it will, another Women's Title will take its place" Angel said.

With the fans cheering in the background, Angel pulled the cover off the custom title she had been given earlier that day. The fans exploded. Angel could swear that the arena was shaking. She took it off the table and wrapped it around her waist.

"From this point on, the Women of WWE are Superstars. And I would encourage all of us to work just as hard as we have been. Let's prove that we are just as good as the men and let's make sure that the work of all the Women who came before us wasn't for nothing" Angel said.

The fans screamed even louder at that. The Women in the ring cheered and clapped too. This was a big moment for all of them. One by one, the others gave Angel a hug and left the ring. Soon, only Angel and Kristy were left over. Kristy asked for a microphone.

"This was a big moment tonight, but don't get too used to that title, Angel. At Night of Champions, I'm going to do whatever I can to take it" Kristy said.

"And just like that, we're back to business as usual. Kristy, you're my best friend and I love you like a sister, but if you want this title of mine so bad, you're going to have to pry it from my cold, dead hands" Angel said, a slight hint of the Dead Girl creeping into her voice as she spoke.

With that, Angel turned and left the ring. Kristy was kind of stunned. She wondered how Angel could flip so easily between her usual self, Angel the character and the Dead Girl. When Angel got back to the back, Roman was waiting along with Dean Ambrose, Bayley and Becky Lynch. Both of the Women were staring at her.

"How did you do that?" Bayley asked.

"What do you mean? What did I do?" Angel asked.

"You went from yourself, to the Angel character to Dead Girl mode in the space of a couple of sentences" Becky said.

"Is there a switch on your back that we need to know about here?" Bayley asked.

"No" Angel said with a laugh, "It's just a natural thing"

"At least you're not doing the whole "take her soul" thing" Dean said.

"She is my best friend, you know. As long as she doesn't anger me in any way, that aspect of the Dead Girl will stay out of it" Angel said.

"Why would I go and do something stupid like that?" Kristy asked as she stepped back into Gorilla Position.

"See? It'll be fine, Dean. This is just friendly competition. A title just happens to be on the line" Angel said.

"OK. But you meant what you said, right?" Roman asked.

"Of course. I didn't lay down for Daddy and Uncle and I'm not going to do it for Kristy. So, she's in for a fight" Angel said.

"And frankly, I'd be insulted if she did lay down for me" Kristy said.

"This is so weird" Dean said.

"What's so weird?" Roman asked.

"I would have half expected one of you to turn on the other by now" Dean answered.

Angel and Kristy just looked at each other for a second before bursting out in laughter. Roman and Dean looked at each other, looking confused. As they started to walk back to the locker room, both Angel and Kristy explained that the two of them had been really close for a long time and that no title was going to come between them. Angel opened the door to the locker room and went in. Roman closed it behind him since he was the last one in.

"Are you guys OK?" Bret asked.

"Fine, Uncle Bret. Everything went good and we're still on track" Kristy said.

"We were just explaining to Dean and Ro that the two of us have been super close for a long time and that no title is going to come between us" Angel said.

"Really?" Wyatt asked his eyes lighting up.

"Really. Were you worried, Little Man?" Kristy asked.

"A little" Wyatt said.

"Please. Angel and Kristy can't even pretend to be mad at each other" Lea said.

"As far as I'm concerned, this whole thing is happening because Kristy saw the opportunity in front of her and went for it. If the roles had been reversed, I would have done the exact same thing and we both know it" Angel said.

"Really?" Lea said.

"That's how this buisness works, Lea. You see an opprotunity and you go for it" Angel said.

"That's a weird rule" Lea said.

"It's not an offical rule, Baby Lea. It's sort of...an unoffical one that everyone follows. There are a bunch of those" Angel said.

"Like when rookies think that when they've been in the business awhile, they are veterans. Nope. When they come here, they go back to being rookies" Kristy said.

"I'm glad that rule is in place. Otherwise, everyone would be running around here like they owned the place" Lea said.

"As if we need more of that" Wyatt said.

"Right" Kristy said.

"What are more unwritten rules?" Lea asked.

"Hn. Daddy being the locker room leader. It's just...kind of a rule" Angel said.

"I didn't just suddenly get there though. It took time" Taker said.

"And playing off of that, another unwritten rule is that no one else is allowed to take that spot now. Cena tried it. It didn't go over well" Angel said.

"Many people have tried that. It never goes over well" Owen said with a laugh.

"Is people becoming legends an unwritten rule?" Wyatt asked.

"No. That's not an unwritten rule. Being regarded as a legend comes from how hard you work and what you accomplish" Kristy said.

"Or how long you manage to stay around" Owen said, looking at Taker as he spoke.

"What are you looking at me for?" Taker asked.

"Come on. Twenty-three years you're coming up on here, Deadman" Davey said.

"Me? Bret and Owen have been in the industry longer than me" Taker said.

"Yeah. But they don't wrestle anymore. You're still an active member of both rosters" Angel said.

"Well...from that perspective…" Taker said.

"Not to mention all the stuff Daddy's done. First Hell in a Cell, Buried Alive, Boiler Room Brawl, Casket, and Inferno Matches" Lea said.

"Multiple time Champion. Both Tag Team and Singles Titles. Undefeated at Wrestlemania. Need we go on here?" Wyatt said.

"You guys…" Taker said.

"Daddy, you're always so modest" Angel said.

"Basically, Uncle Taker has set the bar for Legends and no one can top it" Kristy said.

"Though many have tried" Owen said.

Everyone laughed. They looked at Taker and noticed that his face was red. This made them laugh even more. It was obvious that he didn't see himself as a Legend even though he was. Angel gave him a hug.

"Alright. We need to get back to the hotel" she said, letting go of Taker.

Everyone agreed. They all took turns changing and then packed up their things. Then they left the arena and headed for the hotel. It had been a busy night and everyone knew that it was only going to get busier from here.
