"Dialogue" "Thoughts and inner monologue" emphasis or spooky words
The sun rose from its slumber bringing its warm light towards all, illuminating the land and signaling the start of a new day in a peaceful and calming manner, letting all of those still in dreamland to wake up at their own pace and set times… well everyone except a snoring Elezen who unexpectedly fell out of her when she heard a mysterious buzzing noise, which appeared to be coming from her new Scroll with the words ALARM written on its surface.
The Sleepy Savior of Eorzea slowly rose up from her bed and started tapping the buzzing object's surface until it stopped making that hellish noise. She succeeded in her task and tried to go back to her oh so deserved slumber, but realized she wouldn't be able to fall asleep once more, sighing she put her feet on the floor and started getting on with her morning routine.
The sounds of running water were heard throughout her room as she basked in the lovely embrace of hot water embracing her body and cleansing her body and mind, after that it was time to put on some clothes and after some deliberation she settled for putting her previous ensemble of clothing (good thing that they somehow cleaned themselves, she never understood how that worked, maybe magick or something). Cassandra picked up her Scroll seeing the time "7am huh, just in time for me to eat something and go towards my first appointment" the always mitigating tank explained to herself, from what Glynda and Ozpin had instructed she was supposed to act as an assistant to the teachers responsible for the first years.
This was an exciting prospect for her all things considered, she'd always found herself in the student role most of the time, always learning from others and observing, but now an opportunity had presented itself that had previously reared its head during her part in helping Lamaty'i during the race to the golden city and was becoming more present than ever: the role of a mentor and a teacher.
With a pep in her step Cassandra exited her dorm in the direction of the cafeteria, a few students were walking through the halls and greeted her while trying to wake themselves up in time for their classes, some were probably still inside their dorms attempting to escape the grasp of sleep, all in all it was a peaceful walk with the exception of a high pitched whistle that went off from inside one of the rooms. Cassandra shook her head in amusement "Whoever is in there likely is in for one hell of a day", she marched onwards towards yummy treats with her heart full of hope for the day ahead.
/
She finally made it to her class an hour early, she was quite proud of herself for that (most of the time the Scions would complain she took too long to their meetings, they just didn't understand that fishing is an artform that shouldn't be rushed… especially if she had to go the First to do it), but now wasn't the time for that, she had to make a good with the one responsible for the class. "Hey there, you must be Professor Port, correct? It's a pleasure to meet ya, the name is Cassandra Armstrong and I've been assigned to accompany you for this class." the Arbiter of War said in her best approximation of a professional tone.
"Ah yes, the Headmaster informed me about your presence, the pleasure is all mine young miss! It is always great to see the youth taking interest in the noble pursuit that is teaching the younger generation, I was just preparing my materials as well as my little surprise for the student. I can assure you that this will be a most thrilling example of education!" The large and portly man spoke with gusto, his face obscured by a most magnificent mustache, while showing her the subject they would be discussing today…
The Grimm, the same creatures she took care of back when she first arrived, guess they were some sort of big deal then. Professor Port rambled on about some tale of his youth relating to his first teaching experience, the man sure loved the sound of his own voice but she couldn't really find an ill thought in her mind about him, he was just happy to have someone listen and the Warrior of Light was more than willing to provide such a comfort before the class began.
/
A whole gaggle of students started coming in through the doors of the classroom, people of all shapes and sizes, from Hyur to Viera, Au Ra to Miqo'te, all in all a good amount of people arrived roughly 10 minutes before class started… except for 8 Hyur who burst to the door at the last possible second falling to the floor as they arrived, slowly they rose from their impromptu pile on the floor and settled in their seats, two groups were formed with first one consisting of a petite red black haired girls with red highlights as well as eyes that radiated faint Aether, a tall blonde who was already getting into a comfortable sleeping position, a haughty as well as petite white haired girl who seemed livid at the previous two and a black haired bookworm who stealing glances at Cassandra while reading her book (maybe she had a crush, that was adorable).
The second group consisted of a clumsy blonde boy who seemed very out of place in comparison to his peers, a girl with a red ponytail who kept fussing over the blonde telling him he needn't worry, a ginger girl who was barely being contained in her seat by the black haired boy with the pink highlights as he was physically holding her down and stopping her from pouncing onto a girl in front of her enjoying a candybar.
Professor Port waited for the student to settle and find their seats, as they did so he started his lecture and introduced himself and Cassandra as his assistant, the Heart of the Party gave a friendly wave towards the students, with most of them politely returning it, she opted not to do much more as to not steal the attention away from the professor. The class mostly consisted of him rambling on about the dangers the Grimm imposed and how dangerous they could prove to be as a way to justify the importance of studying them, after 10 or so minutes of that it quickly spiraled into another one of his tales which was about how he took down his first Grimm, it was admittedly pretty interesting but quickly deviated into unrelated territory and as it did she could see more heads dropping into their arms as the class slumbered.
The previously mentioned 8 were asleep with a couple of exceptions, those being bookworm girl, fussing pony tail girl, haughty albino and the petite cape wearing one, the former two were paying attention albeit with a noticeable lack of interest while the latter was furiously scribbling notes and sending death glares to the girl with red highlights who was sketching a caricature of Port with what appeared to be stink lines… heh.
30 more minutes passed and the Professor cleared his throat loud enough to wake all of those who were sleeping, although he didn't even know they were asleep from the looks of it, as he started to talk about all the necessary qualities required of a… Huntsman? "Perhaps that's a fancy title for people who kill Grimm, does that make me Huntress? Are adventures inherently Huntsman or are they even a thing here, if not that would be pretty lame" the Sunforged hero pondered. As she did so, Port asked a question that led to the haughty girl raising her hand, instinctively Cassandra raised up her hand as well so no one would notice she was dilly dallying.
Port let out a belly laugh as he approached the Barista at The End of the Universe and put a hand on her shoulder "I certainly wasn't expecting you to volunteer my friend! But it is certainly a welcome surprise, grab your gear and go to the center of the classroom to prove your mettle." he gave Cassandra a slap on the back as he joyfully spoke, soon after he pulled a lever as a cage dropped onto the center, said cage shaking violently as a Grimm tried to escape it's confines.
The white themed youth seemed peeved to have not been picked but didn't make her opinion audible and resorted to just glaring at the supposed assistant teacher, Cassandra just went straight to the center, which perplexed all of the spectators as they couldn't fathom why she opted not to prepare herself.
"I'm ready, should I introduce myself more properly first or just get straight into the fun part?" She asked nonplussed by the looks she was receiving from the crowd, Port let out a chuckle as he motioned for her to give a quick and proper introduction. "Alrighty then… Greetings to all of you young impressionable kids, I'm Cassandra Armstrong adventure extraordinaire and a member of The Scions of The Seventh Dawn, I hope to learn as much from you as you do from me!" she cried out passionately with a beaming smile, hopefully that was a good enough impression as Port had just opened the cage. The Strongest Scion materialized her trusty sword and shield once more standing her ground against the swine abomination, it charged at her with no intention of stopping quickly gaining speed and rolling into a ball, shortly after impact was made and a loud noise was made as steel clashed with boney plate.
All were shocked when they noticed the mysterious new teacher had not only summoned her weapons out of the blue but had not moved an inch from where she first put her foot down, the beasts attempts at moving her being similar to a child trying to push a pickup truck by themselves, oddly enough the woman with odd spectacles didn't seem to be struggling at all. Cassandra quickly threw her arm to the side as to put the beast of balance and delivered as lightning quick slash towards its head and abdomen, the beast collapsed almost immediately as it turned to ash leaving the class astounded by the display, by no means was a Boarbatusk a particularly strong Grimmn, but defeating it so quickly was somewhat unheard of even by the most elite of huntsman.
The silence was broken once again by Peter Port as he clapped enthusiastically then followed by the entire class, he waited until the applause died down to speak again "What a beautiful performance Miss Armstrong! Wielding both strength and elegance like a true Huntsman, students I hope you take away at least one lesson from this showing…
Always be prepared and keep your wits, take those two lessons to heart and you'll come one step closer to becoming the next generation of defenders this planet needs! Miss Armstrong would like to give our students a farewell message before the end of class?"
The Literal Moonwalker did away with her weapons and faced the class of expecting students, all of them waiting on her word even the previously outraged girl looked had stopped her glaring after Cassandra's impressive performance, putting her hand on her hips the Warrior of Light started a hopefully coherent sentence.
"Life is hard and it'll only get harder from here on out, your career path isn't exactly known for it's long life expectancy I'm guessing, but even so never let yourself be disparaged by that reality. Life is precious, it is your duty not only to yourselves, but the people you protect as well as… those who you failed too."
The Elezen had a very pensive look on her face, but it was gone in a flash "So make sure to grow strong, grow wise and most importantly happily in the company of those you love! That will be all… yeah, dismissed" improvised the Adventurer to the best of her ability, she never was one for inspiring speeches, that job belonged to people like Alphinaud who actually had something to say.
The applause came back once again along with some hollering, guess she did a better job than she thought, the 8 troublemakers were part of the crowd with the albino still being somewhat jealous from the looks of it, the petite introvert unlike the former had a hungry look in her eyes as she stared at Cassandra's hands… Hopefully she wasn't thinking about anything weird. Her trying of thought was broken as the girl approached.
"THATWASAMAZINGHOWDIDYOUDOTHATWITHYOURWEAPONSWHEREARETHEYNOW?" The girl practically vomited the words at Cassandra, who was pretty surprised, that was definitely a first interaction wise. The white haired girl looked like she had enough of it and blew up at her "friend".
"COULD YOU NOT BE SO CHILDISH FOR JUST A SECOND, WHY DO I HAVE TO PLAY SECOND FIDDLE TO A GIRL WHO CAN'T EVEN SPEAK PROPERLY, YOU DIDN'T EVEN PAY ATTENTION TO CLASS, ITS LIKE YOU DON'T TAKE ANYTHING SERIOUSLY! I SHOULD'VE BEEN A LEADER NOT SOME IMMATURE CHILD LIKE YOU!" She screamed drawing the attention of everyone around, especially Blondie and Bookworm with the former looking furious. The petite reaper didn't even have time to give a response as the banshee girl stormed off to Hydaelyn knows where.
The class dispersed soon after, an awkward mood left in the atmosphere, Professor Port left as well in search of the complaining girl while the others consoled the cape wearing one, Cassandra wasn't going to mettle in their affairs, it was the duty of the leader to impose respect as well as maintain order. Maybe she'd poke around later and check just to be sure, she was too much of a bleeding heart to just let things be.
/
After that whole debacle Cassandra skedaddled out of the classroom to enjoy what free time she had before the class, which as she looked at her Scroll was shown to be Combat and Tactics with Goodwitch, by The Twelve she hopes that Goodwitch won't make mincemeat out of her (she could rival Y'shtola with that glare of hers, Cassandra hopes they never meet or she'll be scolded for eternity).
Our wandering hero happened upon a beautiful court with a view of the outside, people could be seen walking around and relaxing between classes, on the many benches that littered its beautifully decorated campus. A figure with white hair could be seen sitting on a bench with a thoughtful expression, Professor Port could be seen leaving the premises, probably after talking to the young lady, after that Cassandra thought that she might as well do her job and assist her fellow teacher by at least checking in the girly.
"Hey there kid, you okay if I sit here with ya?" Cassandra neared her and motioned to the empty spot on the bench.
Weiss looked at who was supposed to be the latest addition to Beacon Staff, why such an honored and prestigious institute would hire someone so strange and unserious is beyond her, but she supposed that her martial prowess is more than sufficient to compensate for her odd behavior… and her speech was adequate. "I suppose so Professor Armstrong" Weiss said in her classic posh and haughty tone as scooted to the side and left a bigger space for the Warrior of Light to sit down.
"Thanks, I'll be honest here since you're a smart kid and all that, I saw you talking to Port and wanted to see what that was about. I'm assuming it had something to do with your hissy fit" Cassandra spoke honestly as sat down on the bench, almost lying on it as she took the rest of the leftover space and looked towards the well maintained garden… "kinda reminds me of Il Mheg with all the pretty flowers and fancy decorations, that reminds me I should probably talk to Feo Ul later, she'll kill me if I don't tell her where I am".
"I did not have a hissy fit, how dare you-..." Weiss immediately cut herself off, she was doing it again, letting her temper get the best of her and acting like of those degenerate faunus, she'd also have to watch her tongue as the teacher next to her was one if her pointy ears were anything to go by.
But since she was qualified enough to work in Beacon then she must've been one of the good ones. "I apologize and to answer your previous question… Yes, Professor Port gave me a most enlightening talk about my duties as a team member and future Huntress, as well as some less than desirable traits I should work on for both my sake and that of my teams." rationalized the Ice Princess as she reiterated her session of self reflection with Professor Port, truly she had a long way to go before she was able to be someone worthy of the Schnee Legacy as well as her sisters respect.
"Good to see you're a learning kid, just make sure not to beat yourself up too much. This is a School, making mistakes and learning from them is part of the experience. I don't know about you, but I'd rather make a thousand mistakes here then out there." the unlicensed teacher pointed to the horizon, slightly confusing the girl. "To be honest you remind me of a good friend of mine, who looks somewhat similar too with the white hair and negligible height…
Anyways, she started off like you, arrogant, prickly and with a chip on her shoulder like she had something to prove." she could see the girl wince slightly but continued "She made a lot of mistakes in the beginning and wasn't exactly an easy person to be with, but then she started opening up to the people around her and accepting their help, I won't say she never made any more mistakes…
Because she did, we all did, but we forged onwards learning from them and became better people as a result. Nowadays she's one of the most reliable people I've ever met, she's someone I have and will always trust with my life… Just don't tell her that or she'll never let me live it down."
The Mandervillious Cassandra quipped as she winked at Weiss, who seemingly let out a small giggle. "In conclusion, open your heart to others even if you think they don't deserve it, grow with them and you'll become not only strong but infinitely more happy as a person and Huntress. Especially since you never know exactly what a person has gone through ,that is all…" Cassandra realized she'd never asked for her name.
"Weiss Schnee, proud member of Team RWBY." Said the heiress, picking up on her teacher's lack of tact, she'd keep her teacher's advice in my mind… "Open your heart huh, maybe it's about time I do that." she thought mirthfully. "Thank you professor, I have to be on my way for my next class now or I'll be late, I hope we have the chance to speak like this once more" Weiss politely said as she gave a small curtsy bow and went off to her next class. "Maybe she is one of the good ones…"
"I hope so too Weiss, remember to have fun!" Shouted the Perfect Legend as the girl disappeared from view… "she truly is like Alisae back in the day… I feel like a parent now, I'm so oooooooooold by The Twelve I'm only twenty eight and I already feel like a geezer" mused the woman as she stared at the flower field that filled the grassy terrain.
"Time to do this… Oh my beautiful branch, would bless me with your presence! Oh how I am in need of your company and guidance, without it I am so hopelessly lost!" Cassandra shouted in a passionate tone, drawing the attention of some still wandering students who skittered to their at the fast approaching classes, she took a knee and struck a pose as the words left her mouth.
A small ball of light started to materialized itself in front of Cassandra, full of shining splendor and bright little flakes of light falling, eventually culminating in a small figure the size of a small cup with pale skin and round beady eyes and wearing an orange leotard that matched her twintails color. "Oh my sweetest sapling, how it is good to see you again, although it has been a while since you called for me and that makes me a tad upset. If you ever keep me waiting so long I'll have you recite ballads in my name for whole weeks! Feo Ul claimed in a half joking half serious tone that scared the Sapling just a bit.
"Oh who am I kidding? How could I possibly stay mad at you, just make sure to call once in a while. How can I help?" the Queen of Fae meekfully said, almost like she didn't want to admit how much she enjoyed being doted on.
"I promise I won't take so much time next time around, as for how you can help… I need you to tell everyone back in the Source that I'm alright and tell them that I set up the Aether Crystal, it's just a matter of time till we reunite. Can you do that my Branch?" asked the Tank Technician, soon her Branch disappeared in a show of light and only now did she realize a lot of people were still around and now staring at her, all of them probably saw the whole thing as well, oh boy she hoped that summoning Fae isn't that much of a big deal over in these parts.
Cassandra brushed her worries aside and checked her Scroll for when her next class was going to take place, Combat and Tactics with Glynda Goodwitch in… 5 minutes and it was on the opposite side of campus… and she had no Aether teleportation… She was so screwed.
/
Glynda Goodwitch in spite of what everyone around her thought, was a patient woman, she had to be to deal with the Headmaster and his mind boggling decisions or whatever trouble her dear students were cooking up, but most of all she was a caring one. She cared for each and every single student no matter their faults or how many mistakes they made, the same could be said for Ozpin, her endearment for the Headmaster grew over the years as she learned more about him and his true self… that poor man, went through so much without anything to show for it except the hope in his heart.
But if there's one thing she could stand it's tardiness, it had always bothered her, ever since she was a little girl the thought of someone arriving late always made her more mad than anything. That's why she was positively fuming right now as Miss Armstrong had yet to arrive when there is only 2 minutes till the class begins, "If she has the gall to arrive late she'll get the scolding of a lifetime! She'll be in charge of cleaning all the arenas for a whole week!" Glynda kept looking at her Scroll as the last students finally arrived and hurriedly took their seats, she supposed she'd have to start without Miss Armstrong-
"GET OUT OF THE WAY GO GO GO GO OR ELSE SHE'LL SCALP ME!" panicked screaming could be heard from the hallway as what appeared to be Cassandra hurried while riding on top of Gabriel α (which many of the students thought to be an experimental Atlesian Mech), it's jet engines working overtime as she finally arrived at the classroom on the nick of time. Everyone was once again staring at her like she grew a second head (that probably would've been less surprising than what is happening currently).
"Hey Glynda got here just on time!" the Outlander joyfully spoke as she climbed of the metal behemoth and pointing to her Scroll's clock which marked 11am, "Thankfully Gabriel here was as quick as I remembered him being, now get out of here you little scamp and go have fun" she told the steel contraption as it flew off to Gods know where and most likely appearing on whatever newspaper they had in Remnant.
"What were you thinking riding whatever that Atlesian Mech inside the school?! What if someone had gotten hurt from your reckless piloting, you need to set an example for your students, we'll talk more about this later… For now let us begin." Glynda calmed herself after her initial outburst and returned to her teacher persona.
"Welcome to Combat and Tactics, in this class you will be taught how to fight in a variety of situations, from your standard tournament style matches to team bouts where your knowledge and teamwork will be put to the limit. I expect you all to do your utmost and show your worth as Huntress and Huntsman."
No one dared utter a noise while Goodwitch talked, she had a suffocating presence that impeded all of interrupting her, she continued "Miss Armstrong and I will be your instructors, we'll do our best to sharpen your skills and mind so that you may become the future of our world, but beware this does not mean this will be an easy class, you will be pushed to your limits and graded on all your performances during the semester, which will affect not only your grade but you whole team's as well" she finished, readjusting her glasses she motioned towards a giant screen that hung over the arena.
"This screen will show the matches to be had as well as the participants Aura during the match, most of you know of this rule but I will reiterate, once your opponent's aura is in the red that means the match is over and any attempt to continue will be met with severe punishment".
Glynda finished as she crossed her arms, riding crop still in her hands. "We'll be having our first match and only match of this class, as the rest will be spent discussing and analyzing the previous match. "Anything to add Professor Armstrong?"
Cassandra was somewhat surprised by being asked for her input "Nothing of note, just curious about the way you people train for fight, back home there's a lot of your typical one on one matches and things like that at the colosseum, but from personal experience it's usually something akin to one on sixteen or even the standard eight people against a really capable one, by The Twelve I can still feel my skin burning from when I fought Omega" Cassandra said that last part to no one in particular, she wonder if Omega can come here, he always seemed to do the craziest stuff.
"Perhaps we can discuss your personal experiences with combat in the latter half of the class, but for now let's begin with the combat portion" Glynda spoke as she pressed the screen in her Scroll, activating the large screen making a random selection of names appear and drawing the attention of all the students seating on the bleachers surrounding the circular arena. Eventually the screen froze showing two names: Ruby Rose VS Jaune Arc.
/
The Shadowbringer stood just outside the arena with Goodwitch, both watching the combatants climb into the arena and ready themselves up, the Ruby girl carried quite the scythe with her, it's size made even bigger by her small stature and the cutesy outfit she was wearing: a pair of combat boots, black tights, a skirt that was accompanied by a corset and a small cape that she kept on her at all times. Her opponent meanwhile seemed more unprepared as he stood there with his posture unconfident and uncertain, carrying a sword and shield that he didn't know quite how to hold, his clothing did not impress much either as merely had a chestplate and what appeared to be a simple hoodie with a a pair of slacks.
Cassandra crossed her arms and kept on observing the two, the tension in the air was palpable as they stared at each other, Glynda then pressed her Scroll once more and a loud bell sound went off, with that the Red Riding Reaper sped with her overgrown gardening instrument, quickly slicing at the unprepared blonde as he barely rolled out of the way.
The girls onslaught continued as the boy kept on the backfoot, not even able to raise his shield, Cassandra was astounded by this and as much as that Ruby girl is fast and quite skilled in her unorthodox way of using a Reaper's scythe, Jaune should still be able to press her on the openings of her swings with his more imposing frame and shield… it's more like he didn't know how to, she'd have to do something about that later.
Like fate itself foretold it the leader of JNPR was pushed out of bounds by the young red riding hood, flat on his assistant and having lost the match. A loud buzzard rang out signaling the end of the bout as Glynda stepped in clearly unsatisfied with the young man's performance and helped him up with what Cassandra Thought was a form of magick, both opponents shook hands as the Ruby girl looked somewhat meek after her fierce performance, while the Jaune boy had an embarrassed expression that showed all his shame.
Soon the two students were sent back to the bleachers, with that Glynda began speaking "Now we will begin discussion on the recent match, usually we would have at least two more before this part of class, but for the sake of brevity and as an introduction to the course will be discussing only this singular one." she said in her usually stern voice.
"Now what can you tell me about the fight that just happened?" Glynda said and so the discussion began, it mostly consisted of critiques towards the knight boy and his lack of initiative in regards to using his bigger stature and shield in his favor to better stand his ground against Ruby's assault, and as for the petite dps, she was praised for her quick initiative and excellent use of an unconventional weapon, with the exception of her wide arching swings that could've been exploited by a faster or more skilled opponent.
Half an hour had passed before the discussion finally ended, with every possible avenue being explored in regards to its results, "This is the way most of our classes will be going, as stated before this course will sharpen both you body and minds, further on discussions will be delivered in the form of written essays which will be graded." Glynda finished explaining and looked towards her long eared colleague.
"Cassandra, would you be comfortable talking about your previous bouts? It'd be a good point of comparison for the students and what they should strive for." Glynda politely asked her temporary partner in education as she waited on a response, said partner had just sat down on the ground and motioned for all the students to sit her, and so they did.
The Perfect Legend began to speak as she remembered her many adventures, too many to recount.
"What… I mean yeah sure, there's a lot I could talk about so I think I'll grab an easy to follow." She tapped her chin while thinking of a good example.
"I know, there's my fight against Gilgamesh! Greg was far from the toughest fight I've had but he was definitely one of the weirdest." Cassandra reminisced about her battle on the big bridge, what a silly series of events that was, hopefully she'll meet Hildbrand again since it was kinda expected they would eventually meet in Tural… though with his track record he might find a way into Remnant, one can only hope.
"Gilgamesh Greg?" were the words of Yang Xiaolong who seemed confused by the mix of outlandish and lackluster names. Cassandra merely shook her head in amusement, the reaction was about what she expected, she pulled out her Tomestone and showed a picture of Cassandra and a group of people. The photo contained Cassandra in the middle doing a flexing pose next to a buff man with a tattered suit who struck the same pose, a man much like the one before only older looking with white hair, a beautiful blonde woman who hugged the two man tightly, a girl with cat ears and a pink coat who struck quite the cutesy pose as well as a giant of a man with a green chicken on his shoulder and holding a lance with a revolver grafted onto it.
"Here's Gilgamesh" she pointed to the man of imposing stature "He is quite the fighter, used to go around fighting people and taking their weapon's if he thought they fit his criteria of 'legendary' and that lance just happened to be one… although it just ended up being a standard infantry gun lance." Cassandra described nostalgically, ah how she held all those moments dear…
"What made him such a formidable opponent? Or are you just telling us this due to his closeness to you." asked the normally quiet boy who'd be soon identified as Lie Ren, his tone wasn't judgmental, merely one of monotonous curiosity. It looked like the question was the same many of his classmates had as they all nodded along.
"The reason he was such a memorable fight out of all the people I fought was because of how many tricks he had under his sleeve, be it bombs, transformations, diversions and even a bunch of bats and snakes he'd throw out to try and screw with me. He did all that while having the ability to grow extra arms to utilize his other weapons, that was pretty cool… I wish I could do that." the Mahjong Enthusiast sulked, if she had multiple arms she'd be able to do all those cool moves she always imagined.
"So he cheated? I get that might have made the fight more difficult, but that is hardly admirable behavior, a Huntress should always strive to be the pinnacle of what humanity can be and not bring themselves down to the level of common riff raff." Weiss uttered with disdain at the idea of even glorifying a cheater such as the man Professor Armstrong described. Many of the students frowned at the heiress's use of the word humanity.
"I get where you are coming from, your line of thought is a very honorable one, but at the end of the day honor doesn't get you home. Gilgamesh knew that and did everything in his power to win, or out of a misplaced sense of pride. But either way that's what you all should always have in mind when in a fight, especially if your life's on the line you should pull every dirty trick on the book to make sure you get home to those you love. I don't know about you all, but I rather be riff raff and alive than have my moral high ground while six feet under."
Everyone was silent after Cassandra's comment, no one expected her to be that blunt about the topic at hand, but it wasn't as if it was a nonsensical take to have, Huntsman and Huntresses have an extremely high mortality rate and as much as everyone knew what they were getting into… it was still a sobering thought.
A loud buzzard was heard all over the arena, signaling the end of the lecture, "Well that's enough doom and gloom for today kids, class is over and lunch time is about to start so see you all later!" Cassandra ran as quick as the wind towards the cafeteria aiming to get first serving as well as escape the dreaded talk Goodwitch promised after class.
Goodwitch sighed as she missed the chance to use her semblance to catch the running assistant. She'll have that talk later whether she likes it or not, Cassandra is safe… for now, the class was officially dismissed after that and they slowly trickled out, not forgetting their teacher's words and hoping it would never come to that.
AN: So another day another chapter, this one twice as long and just as much bullshit, you may all see that I'm not following one to one on cannon with every conversation and interaction, both out of laziness on my part do do it by the book and also due to my belief that sticking to cannon when doing fics can get kinda boring. Hope you all enjoyed this one, I tried to follow Patchwork-Ones advice in regards to spacing of the paragraphs, but I've might've over done it, y'all be the judge of that.
Also a major sticking point to you all might be how I AIN'T FORGETTING WEISS IS LIKE SUPER RACIST ANDIT WILL BE ADRESSED, that's why she thinks those less than savory things about the faunus and such, I think it's an important ugly part of character that has to be remebered and later on dealt with.
Last thing is that this chapter was around 6000 words instead of 3000 words, although it took longer to come out, I'll probably stick to making longer and beefier chapters without a set schedule instead of posting as often as possible. My goal is to make this weekly and at most Bi-weekly, but we'll se in due time.
Toodles y'all!
