Elisa and Matt made to the castle with a few seconds to spare, though they, mostly Matt were pretty exhausted from caring the gifts all the way up the castle stairs.
"Remind to start going to the gym again." Matt said as he set the gifts down.
"I told you the gifts were pretty heavy." Elisa placed her gifts down, "Beside no one told you to run all the way up the stairs."
"Well, excuse me but somebody told me to hurry up because somebody didn't want to miss the guys waking up."
Elisa smirk a bit, "Well, maybe it's a sign that you're getting old."
"I'm not that old. I'm four years older than you." Matt cross his arms, "Besides, my mind is as sharp as any youngster."
"Oh yeah of course." Her smirk grew bigger, "For a 33-year-old."
Matt playfully glares at her, "Just you wait until you hit your 30s'."
"I still got plenty of time."
Their playful banter came to a halt, as the sound of crackling stones took over. They turn to see the gargoyle statues slowly begin to break in front of them. One by one the roaring sounds, from the gargoyles echo the night as they broke free from their slumber.
Elisa's eyes beam at the sight of her friends, "I'll never get tired of this."
Chipping away the bit of stones left behind, Goliath turns and see their human friends. He smiles, laying his eyes on Elisa. He made his way towards the two.
"Good evening, Matt, Elisa."
Hearing Goliath's voice made Elisa's heart skip a beat, "Evening, Big Guy."
Matt couldn't help but snicker at the two. 'Those two need to get a room.' He snickers some more. Elisa heard his snickering and quickly side punch him in his arm.
"Ouch." Matt rubs his arm. Elisa gave him "the look" and Matt quickly composed himself. He knew when Elisa gave him "the look" it wasn't going to end well for him. Goliath watch the two interact, confused by what occur. But quickly dismissed it.
'Knowing Elisa as well as I do, Matt did something to upset her.' He thought. The rest of the clan join the three.
"Hiya Elisa, Matt!" Broadway greeted them, "Are you guys here to watch the finale of the duel monster's tournament."
"Oh, you know it." Matt said, "I can't wait for you guys to see it!"
Brooklyn quickly covered his hears, "La, la, la don't say anymore, Matt."
"Yeah, we don't want you to spoil the ending for us…. again." Lex said.
"Don't worry, I'm not saying anything." Matt swore, "I can't spoil this match for you. It's too epic."
"Alright!" The trio high-fived each other. Excited to see what the match had instore.
"I can see you guys are super excited about it." Angela said.
"Hell yeah, this match is going to be big!" Brooklyn said.
"Speaking of big," Hudson chimed in, "What's with the boxes behind ye, lass?"
"Oh." Elisa almost forgot about the gifts, "These are for the boys."
"Cool, what is it?" Lex asked.
"You'll find out after the match tonight."
"Aww." The trio really wanted to know what was inside.
"Well, come one the faster we watch the match the faster we can open them." Broadway said. The trio quickly ran inside, heading to the media room inside the castle. Hudson, Angela, and Bronx followed suit. Matt picks up two of the gifts and heads inside. Elisa bends down to grab the other two but Goliath stops her.
"Elisa, please allow me." He took the gifts into his arms.
"Thanks, Big Guy, but you don't have to do that."
"Nonsense." Goliath said, "It's the least I can do for you."
Elisa smile, as the two head inside.
Domino City
Yugi laid awake in bed. He had another dream about his parents. Although they died when he was three, he had some memories about them. The way his mother would sing to him, his father would play games with him. Some might think it's not much but to him, it was everything. Whenever he has dreams about them, to Yugi it was his way of keeping their memories alive.
'Grandpa always said I'm a splitting imagine of my father. Expect for the eyes.' Yugi's eyes were just like his mother. From what his grandpa told him, he got the same traits from his parents. His father's love of games and his mother's caring nature. Yugi was proud to have some of their traits in him. Sighing to himself, Yugi couldn't help but think back on his latest dream.
'It was different from the ones before.' He thought, 'There was another person with them. Someone I know…. But at the same time, I don't? Have I met before?'
Yugi sat up from his bed, 'Was there someone else in life I don't know about? No, it can't' be. Grandpa would have told me about it. Wish he was here, so I could ask.' Unfortunately, Yugi grandpa left for a game convention this morning and would be gone for a week.
"You should be asleep, Yugi." Yami appear next to him. "You don't want to be tired for trip tomorrow.
"Sorry, Yami I hope I didn't wake you."
"You didn't" Yami said, "But I did sense your disturbance. I wanted to see what was troubling you."
"I…. had a dream about my parents." Yami listen closely. Yugi had spoken to him about his parents in the past.
"That's wonderful, Yugi."
"It was, Yami but… this dream was different."
"Different how?" Yami questioned.
"Well…..I saw my parents but there was also someone else too." Yugi explained, "Someone, I've never met before. I mean at least I think I've never met them before. It's hard to explain."
"Do you believe your dream is trying to tell you something?" Yami asked, "Maybe something about your past?"
Yugi shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, although she seemed very nice, and she was kind to me."
"She?" Yami asked.
Yugi nodded, "Uh-huh, but it's funny. Even though I couldn't get a full picture of her face, I knew it was definitely a woman. She held me and said kind things."
"She sounds like a mice person, Yugi."
"Yeah…. she even gave me something in the dream too." Suddenly, Yugi remembers something, "Wait a sec. Could it be?"
Yugi quickly jump off the bed and went straight to his desk. Yami, confused by his action, watch as Yugi digs through his desk.
"Ah-ha, here it is." Yami walks towards his young friend. Yugi smiles as he shows Yami what he found in his desk.
"A gold bracelet?"
Yugi nodded, "Yeah, according to my grandpa, I had this bracelet since I was little. He told me it was very valuable. So, I kept it in my desk for safe keeping." Yugi place it back on top of the desk.
"The funny thing is grandpa never told me who gave it to me." Yugi said, "I didn't want to push the subject so, I never asked.
"Do you think the woman in your dreams was the one who gave it to you?" Yami asked
"It could be possible." Yugi looks attentively at the bracelet on his desk. He sadly smiles, "You know, I use to wear this all the time."
"Why did you stop?"
Yugi picks up the bracelet, "It's broken. When I was heading home from school, a bully stopped me and started beating me up. He took a hold of my wrist were the bracelet was and he rip it off. I grabbed the pieces I could find and made my way home."
Yugi places the bracelet down, "I tried to fix it on my own, but it no use. So, I decided to put it in a safe place until I was able to get it fixed."
Yami could heard the sadness in his friends' voice, 'I can see how important this bracelet is to him.' Yami got an idea. 'It might just work.'
"Yugi, do you mind if we switch for a moment."
Yugi was confused, "Sure, but what for?"
Yami smile, "You'll see."
Yugi agrees and close his eyes as light emulated from the puzzle causing the two to switch bodies. Yami open his eyes and found himself in solid form, having taken over Yugi's body. Yami grabs the bracelet from the desk and held it tight.
Yugi, in spirit form, was curious about what the pharaoh was doing. Yami summoned shadow magic and manipulate the magic around his hands. After a few moments, the shadow disappears. Yami open his hand and Yugi's eyes grew in astonishment.
"Pharaoh, you fix it."
"Of course, I knew how important this was to you. So, I use my magic to fix it. I even manipulate it, so it will never break again."
"Pharaoh…." Yugi couldn't believe it, "Thank you." He smiles, "You know, there's another reason why I loved wearing it so much."
"Oh."
He nodded, "Do you see the small plaque?" Yami nodded.
"Flip it over." Yami flips the plaque over and saw the inscription written on it. Yami read it, "Let your heart guide you. It whispers so listen closely."
"Whenever I was in trouble, "Yugi spoke, "Or need guidance I would look at this and it gives me some courage."
Again, Yugi smile, "You don't know how much it means to me, pharaoh. Thank you, again."
Yami too smile, "Your welcome, Yugi. Now, I think it's best to go back to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow." Yami give Yugi control back to his body as he returns to the puzzle.
Yugi look at the bracelet once more, 'Maybe one day I'll thank the person who gave me this.' He place it back on his desk, knowing he will wear it tomorrow. Yugi lay back on his bed, getting the sleep he needs for tomorrow begins a journey of a lifetime.
