Another exciting night for the Manhattan clan as the trio and Matt enjoyed their new duel disk system Elisa gave them. Goliath allowed the trio to stay home for patrol tonight, so they could enjoy their "new toy" as he put it. The trio, of course took advantage of this and practically duel the entire night. Matt enjoyed them soon after, once his night shift at the police station was over. While Goliath, Hudson and Angela went on patrol, Elisa waited for them to return. She sat in one of the benches in the courtyard, watching the boys duel in a tag team match.

"Ha-ha, you just triggered my trap card, Broadway!" Brooklyn said.

"Oh, no!"

"Don't worry, buddy. I got this." Matt reassured him, "I reveal the magic card mystical space typhoon. This will destroy your trap card."

"Ahh, no way!" Brooklyn and Lex shouted. Broadway and Matt high-five each other as the duel continued. Elisa smiled in amusement.

"The friendship between boys. It almost makes me jealous." She chuckled as she continued to watch them duel. Elisa enjoyed these moments. Watching her friends have fun, not worried about the dangers or threats in their lives.

"Just peace and happiness." Hearing herself said that Elisa couldn't help but think,

"I wonder ifhehas found peace and happiness." Elisa took out her locket from underneath her shirt. She caresses the heart shape pendent. Elisa sadly smiles. The flood of memories came crashing down on her. It always did whenever she thought about her past and how precious the content of the locket had. Elisa was in such deep thought, she failed to notice someone standing behind her.

"Looks like the guys are enjoying their new duel disk."

Elisa, startled by the voice, quickly put her locket back inside her shirt. She turns to see David Xanatos, holding his one-year-old son Alex.

Elisa breathes a sigh of relief, "Oh, god you startled me."

"I startled you, that's a first." Xanatos sat next to her. He held his son as he giggles and laugh with his father. Elisa looks at the man who cause so much pain and suffering to her and her friends in the past. For three years, Xanatos did anything in his power to gain immortality, while trying to use the gargoyles as pawns in order to achieve it. Of course, the gargoyles foiled his plans time and time again, but it always came with a price. For the clan the biggest price was when they were forced out of their ancestral home. For Elisa, her price was her brother Derek. During one of Xanatos plans, he used Derek and other unwitting human subjects and change them into a gargoyle-like mutates. Over time though Derek and other mutates adapted to their new transformation and made a living under the abandon tunnels protecting the homeless. Elisa carried so much hatred towards him, she never thought in a million years that he would change the way he did.

The sound of laughter coming from Alex, Xanatos' son caught her attention. Elisa watch as the two interacted with each other. She couldn't help but smile at them. One of the good things about this past year was the birth of his son. Xanatos changed so much ever since that day and even help the gargoyles in their time of need. Her hatred and distrust slowly went away.

Alex reached out to Elisa, wanting to be held.

"Someone has an admirer." Elisa happily held Alex in her arms. She gently brush his head as she hum a little tune. Alex happily snuggled closely to her.

"You seem to have a knack with kids. Alex doesn't snuggle with just anyone. You must have that special touch."

"Special touch huh, hmm." Elisa smile grew bigger seeing Alex laughing and smiling. She couldn't help but think, 'His smile, his laugh it's so much likehis.'

"I wanted to thank you and Matt for helping with security for tomorrows' event. I know it's not a detective's job to help out, but I trust you both."

"It's no trouble. Besides, Matt's more excited to help out with this, given the chance to see the best duelist."

"Well, he has access to everything. So do you, but you already knew that." Xanatos smirk at that last part.

Elisa understood what he meant, "Of course."

"Oh, yeah my Jinzo just destroyed your Battle Ox." Lex said to Matt.

"Ah, man." Matt couldn't believe it as his life points gets cut in half.

Elisa and Xanatos watch as the duel continued. They could see how much fun the guys were having. Xanatos glance over at Elisa. He could see how intensely Elisa watch them.

"You should tell them."

"No." Elisa quickly answers.

"I think you should." He said.

Elisa sighed, "I want me to tell them, I really do but…"

For the past few months, Xanatos has been pushing Elisa into telling her friends her little secret. However, every time he brought it up, she would shut down.

"The answer is still no."

"Why?"

Elisa look down at young Alex, who has fallen asleep in her arms, "If I tell them, I have to tell them everything. I can't just tell them one part without the other…"

"You don't feel they have a right to know?" Xanatos ask. Elisa stayed silent as she gently caresses Alex's head. Xanatos understood, though he wished she'd be more open minded about it, especially with the upcoming days ahead.

"What about Goliath?"

"He's the last person I want to bring this too."

"I can think of many reasons for him to know especially with what's coming up." Xanatos said, "Besides, if I was able to figure it out eventually…. the others will too."

Elisa sigh, "I know…. god I know."

"Have you even thought about tellinghim?"

"I have. Even before, I've thought about at least telling him."

"What's stopping you?"

Elisa lowered her head, "I'm just…. afraid."

Xanatos couldn't believe the words that came out of Elisa. The word scared wasn't part of her vocabulary.

"Elisa, for the past three years I have seen you face the most vicious enemies. Not to mention the amount of times Demona has put you and the clan in mortal danger. You stared fear in the eye without ever flinching. And you're telling me that this secret is what's causing you to be afraid"

Elisa was silent for a moment, "I'm afraid…. that it will change everything."

Xanatos place a friendly hand on her shoulders, "It will, but maybe it's not a bad thing. Change can be something worth wild. I should know." Looking up at the night sky, he could see Goliath and the others coming back from patrol.

"When you keep secrets, you create distance especially to those you care about most. Think about it." Xanatos careful took his young son in his arms as Goliath and the clan reach the castle grounds.

"Good evening everyone, I hope patrol went well tonight."

"Yup, everything was quiet. Not a criminal in sight." Angela said.

"Glad to hear, well I better take Alex to bed. Good night all." Elisa watch Xanatos leave with his words still lingering in her mind. Goliath notice how Elisa look at Xanatos intensely.

"Everything alright, Elisa?" He asked.

Hearing Goliath voice snap her back to reality, "Oh, yeah…I'm fine Big Guy."

Angela could sense something was amiss, "Did something happen?"

"What? No, of course not. We were just talking." Elisa gave them a reassuring smile. Goliath wasn't convinced.

"Well…. I'm going to watch the guys duel before the sunrise. See ya." Angela quickly ran towards the others.

"Ay, I think I'll catch up with my stories. Good night lass." With that Hudson left, leaving Goliath alone with Elisa. He took a seat next to her.

"Elisa, are you sure you're alright? You seemed….in deep thought when Xanatos left."

"It's nothing really, don't worry about it."

"But I always worry when it comes to you." Goliath said.

Elisa smile, "That's very sweet of you, Big Guy. Nothing happened though. We were just talking about the event tomorrow."

"Yes, Xanatos and I spoke about this before patrolling this evening. He invited the clan to watch the main event match at the new duel stadium he built."

"I'm guessing Xanatos has a special room for you guys to watch it."

Goliath smirk, "Of course, this is Xanatos we're talking about."

"Of course." Elisa said, "Well, I'll be on security during the event, so I won't be seeing you guys." They sat on the bench quietly, watching the others duel. Elisa glance at Goliath, she couldn't help but think back at what Xanatos said.

"When you keep secrets, you create distance especially to those you care about most."

'He's right. I should at least time him.' Taking a deep breath Elisa turn towards Goliath, "Goliath there's something I have to tell you."

Goliath could hear the serious in her voice, "What is it?"

"I should have told you this a while ago, but…. I was afraid to say anything."

Goliath took a hold of hand, "Elisa, you have nothing to afraid of. You can tell me anything, you know that."

She held his hand tightly, "I know, but this isn't something I can speak of so easily." Goliath look at her with love and concern.

"Goliath, I'm—"

"Father, the suns about to rise!" Angela shouted as she and the rest of the group made their way towards them. Goliath look up at the sky and sure enough the sun was slowly rising.

"You better get to the high tower."

Goliath look at Elisa, "But—"

Elisa gently place her finger on his lips, "Don't worry, I'll tell you everything soon enough." Goliath slowly nodded as Angela and the other reach the two of them. Elisa and Matt wish them a good night as they headed to the high tower. As the reach the entrance to the building Matt told Elisa he'll be at her place around 1pm so they could get head to the event together. Elisa agree as they headed their separate ways. As Elisa walk home, she look up just as the sun grace the sky.

'Today is a new day, a new beginning. No more secrets.' She smile knowing that starting today everything will change.
