Chapter 68: True Nosferatu

Yukime walks leisurely towards the Crimson Tower, occasionally swinging her fan in order to tear some ghouls apart with minimum amount of movements in order to not ruin her kimono. She also made sure she wasn't in range of any blood from the ghouls that she sliced apart. When she has to move, she moved with the elegance of a dancer, slicing the ghouls apart one by one.

Carmilla, in contrast, was absolutely bestial in disposing the ghouls, tearing them apart with bare hands.

Yukime, whose pure white kimono and white tails are unstained by blood, looked at Carmilla's bloodsoaked form with pity.

"Really. I know you liked bathing in blood. But you used to be more civilized than this." Yukime said. Her words reaching Carmilla's ears but not her thoughts.

"I think it's about time you creeps to show yourselves, no?" Yukime called out, addressing the two vampires who have been stalking them since they left the White Tower. They soon left the shadowy corners they were hiding in and confronted both Yukime and Carmilla.

"We are here on behalf of Lord Crimson. We only want to speak with that woman. This is none of your concern, Yukime of the White Tower." One of the vampires said.

"Hmph. Be my guest. I doubt your words will reach her though." Yukime said as she stepped aside.

The two vampires approached Carmilla, who does not respond to their approach. "Carmilla! Lord Crimson has need of you! He is offering you the last chance to rejoin us! Accept his gracious offer and you may rule the night alongside us! Refuse and you shall die here and now!" The vampire gave his offer to Carmilla who… responded only at the name Crimson.

"Crimson… yes… Crimson.. I remember… it was his fault… He used me and Laura as bait to lure out the vampire hunters… it's his fault that dear Laura died…" Muttered Carmilla, her rage rising with every second.

"Carmilla! Do you not hear me!? Lord Crimso-" The vampire said before Carmilla suddenly appeared behind him and bit him in the neck.

"GYAAAAAHHH!" The vampire screamed as his lifeblood is being sucked away by a fellow vampire. He becomes a dried corpse in mere seconds. Even if his heart is undamaged, the lack of lifeblood is enough to kill him.

"Wh-What have you done!? How could you… suck the blood of your own kind!?" The other vampire shouted whilst being horrified.

"This is not cannibalism… because you lot are fake vampires… I AM THE TRUE VAMPIRE! TRUE UNDEAD! TRUE NOSFERATU!" Shouted Carmilla as she proceeded to bite the other vampire's throat before he can react, draining him of all his blood and leaving him as a dried husk.

"I see. So you're saying that you're different from other vampires who can turn back into humans when they stopped consuming blood?" Yukime said. Her words did not reach Carmilla however.

"Laura… I shall punish that weakling Crimson first! Then I shall kill your killer!" Carmilla shouted as she created bat-like wings from her back and immediately flew towards the Crimson Tower. Her jump left high heel shaped dents and cracks at the stone pavement she was standing on.

"Carmilla! Don't forget your mission to capture the Blood Queen!" Yukime shouted as she was forced to move faster in order to catch up with Carmilla.

"Ohh… look at her go." Adra said while watching the whole thing happen from atop the White Tower's balcony.

He intended to just amuse (distract) himself by staying there to watch as the events unfold but…

*Sniff Sniff Sniff*

"He's… here…" He felt dread as he smelled his master's scent, which was masked with blood and a hint of Carmilla's scent on him.

"Heh. I'd congratulate Carmilla for finally sleeping with him… if not for the fact that she does not have his scent. Not to mention he left her in such a broken state." Murmured Adra as he contemplates his next move.

"I suppose I have no choice but to participate. With him watching my every move, I shouldn't disappoint him any further… or he'll hunt down my mother." Adra said as he jumped off the balcony and starts clawing the ghouls to pieces on his way to the Crimson Tower.

"We lost contact with the people we sent to recruit Carmilla." Reported a vampire subordinate.

"Hmph. They should've stayed away while she's hiding behind that fox. No matter. Send more people to create more ghouls and sow more chaos in the city." Remarked Crimson callously.

"But, my lord! We've lost too many men already! There are not enough people to protect the tower!"

"I said send more people to the city. Do not make me repeat my words." Crimson said while glaring at the subordinate.

"Y-Yes… As you say, Lord Crimson." Said the subordinate as he left Crimson alone in the Crimson Tower's rooftop, where he plans to start the ritual. He glanced at the coffin and an unconscious black haired boy his subordinates captured, who is nailed to a cross. The light from the Red Moon illuminates the rooftop and he bask himself in it, letting it fill him with vampiric strength.

"Soon… My queen… Soon." He murmured.

"Yes. Soon everything you planned would be destroyed by your own recklessness and stupidity." He suddenly heard an unfamiliar voice, causing him to turn around and saw a white haired man wearing aristocratic clothes and black cape, an outfit that he and his people favoured as well.

"Who are you!?" He shouted warily.

"My name is Alucard, King of Vampires of ancient times."

"Alucard? I've never heard of you, you upstart. If you want to join us, it's too late! The time has come and-" Crimson said.

"You would need all the help you can get. All thanks to your own mismanagement." Alucard cut him off while stating the truth.

"You talk big for an upstart! Die!" Crimson said as he sent blood spears towards Alucard.

"Fool." Alucard said as the blood spears broke when they clash against his undefended body.

"What!?" Crimson exclaimed in disbelief.

"You should learn to know your place, upstart." Said Alucard as he created four spikes out of his cape and sent them to pierce all four of Crimson's limbs and lifting him in the air in a T-Pose.

"Aghh! Who… Who are you!?"

"I believe I've already introduced myself. I am Alucard."

"Tch! Perhaps your claims of being a king of vampires have merit. But you are still nothing compared to the Blood Queen!"

"That's what I'm interested in. The Blood Queen." Alucard said as he approached the coffin.

"What are you doing!? Stay away from her!" Crimson shouted helplessly, unable to move as the spikes kept him in the air.

Alucard opened the coffin's lid with his cape and beheld the skeleton that lay within.

"Wonderful. Still brimming with life even though you've been reduced to this state. I can see that you survived purely through monstrous magic power focused on your heart. But you haven't died and reborn yet. You haven't overcame death as I have. You are still not a true vampire. Not a true nosferatu!" Alucard spoke to the skeleton. Crimson was unable to understand a word he said.

"What are you talking about!?" Crimson shouted.

"I'm saying that despite her status as the so-called progenitor, she is still a fake vampire like the rest of you." Alucard said. His words confuses Crimson even more.

"Fake vampire!? What are you…?" Crimson muttered, finding Alucard's words absurd.

"When you stopped drinking blood, you will lose all your vampiric powers and return to your mortal state, no? That's why I called you fake vampires. A true vampire will never return to being human. Lack of blood consumption will merely turn a true vampire into a bloodthirsty monster if not outright perishing." Alucard stated. His words made gears moving in crimson's mind.

"A true vampire is an undead, a living corpse! One who has died but overcame death and become a true immortal! Fearing no sunlight nor a stab in the heart!" Alucard demonstrated by taking the dagger from the coffin and stabbing his own heart with it and not dying from it. Crimson gasped as he saw something unthinkable.

"But if that's the case…. Lady Elizabeth…"

"Is a fraud. Like the rest of you. Her heart is not pierced completely and thus she is not dead yet. She's only sleeping a very deep sleep. Even though her body has been reduced to mere ashes and bones, her heart is still brimming with life." Alucard monologues as he took Elizabeth's heart, which is shaped like a metal orb carved to look like a flower, with a red pearl peeking out of its petals.

"Don't worry though. I shall facilitate your… reawakening. And then, I shall improve you. I shall turn you into my bride. A true vampire!" Alucard declared as he raised his hand, which is holding Elizabeth's heart, to the sky, letting it bathe in the light of the Red Moon.

"You… are you a progenitor…?" Crimson said. The arrogance he shown before left his expression completely.

"I am not a progenitor. I am THE progenitor of the original vampires that come long before your kind exists. And now I have returned in order to educate you youngsters on how to become proper vampires." Declared Alucard. His words both excite and terrify Crimson.

"T-Then… Please… Allow me to serve you!" Crimson said while bowing his head with a crazed smile.

"I shall accept… after you show your usefulness." Alucard said as he retracts the spikes from his cape, allowing Crimson to fall to the floor and regenerate his wounds.

"Then please give me your orders, my lord. I shall fulfill it with all my power!" Crimson said while bowing down before his new lord.

"Focus all your forces on this tower's defences. Kill off any intruder." Alucard ordered.

"It shall be done." Crimson said.

"No. It cannot be done. Not after you have wasted all of your own subordinates for very little gain."

"F-Forgive my foolishness, my lord!" Crimson said as he trembled, already failing his lord's first order due to his past arrogance and recklessness.

"Don't worry though. I've brought reinforcements." Alucard said as he smiled ominously.

Author's Note:

Alucard has returned and he recruited Crimson. But Carmilla is going after him!

If you noticed, I've uploaded a new cover image. That's how the Necromancer looked like. I drew that image myself. You can see the full image on my DeviantArt (OminousRain), Tumblr (ominousrain) or Twitter (TheOminousRain). Or maybe on Sufficient Velocity forum too where I slowly uploads this fanfic's many chapters. Just check the Media threadmark.

Rhaveno: The Long night Has Come! Blood For The Blood God! Skulls For His Throne!

yeah the "blood god" comment Helsing said made me think of Khorne

Answer: Yeah I was referencing that line when I write the blood god thing, although I'm not a Warhammer 40k fan.

Imboredlmao11: I feel like there could be something cool where whatever everyone but cid and Claude think is real becomes real

Like epsilon because everyone thinks epsilon might be a reincarnation or ancient being she becomes one that sounds like a cool concept, I came up with while reading and yeah misunderstanding is always so wanky

Answer: That's sort of my plan, although I'm still thinking about the details on how the bullshit becomes real.
