Court
Chapter 13: An Even Playing Field
Before Danny could continue with the story, a phone was starting to ring.
"Oh, what now?!..." Danny complained, tired of all of these interruptions.
Sam checked her phone and saw who it was.
"It's my grandma. One second..."The goth girl said as she answered it.
"Hi, Grandma..."Sam answered.
"Hi, Bubeleh. I'm gonna order takeout. I'm thinking of getting Chinese from that place on Main Street. You want anything?..."Ida asked.
"Could you get my usual, Grandma? That one with cooked rice and steamed vegetables?..."Sam asked.
"Can do. Love you, Bubeleh..."Ida said, making sure that her granddaughter knew it.
"Love you too, Grandma..."Sam said, before hanging up her cell phone.
Once done, Sam returned to her friends.
"So, how's your grandma?..." Star asked.
"She's fine. She's planning to get some takeout for dinner and asked what I wanted..."Sam said.
"Let me guess. It was something green and doesn't have a face..." Danny quipped, and Sam nodded.
"Yeah, she's getting some Chinese food and I ordered my usual rice with steamed veggies. At least someone asks for my input..."Sam said, before sitting down again.
Soon, Danny and the others went back to the storytelling.
"Anyway, my dad managed to convince the Observants to bring in some of Danny's ghost friends to the trial. And Walker and Vlad kept objecting and trying to find ways to make Danny look bad in front of the Observants..." Star said as she continued.
Story
Johnathan managed to convince The Observants to bring Danny's allies here to help and testify to the half-ghost boy's innocence. However, Team Phantom was still trying to figure out who to bring first.
"So, who are we going to ask to bring here?..."Tucker asked since they didn't exactly have many options.
"Under any circumstances, we cannot bring Danielle here! There is no way that I'm going to risk that Fruitloop being anywhere near her!..." Danny reminded them, still worried about her safety.
"Right. So, who else do we know who can help?..." Star asked.
"Well, we can't ask Wulf either since he'd be in just as much danger if Walker catches him again..."Sam said, and the others nodded.
"So, I'm guessing that Frostbite would be the most logical choice..."Tucker suggested.
The others nodded and mentioned him to Star's father. Once done, he went to the Observants to request the Chief of the Far Frozen to appear in court.
"Your honor, if it pleases the courtroom. We'd like to call to the stand...Frostbite, chief of the Far Frozen..."Johnathan said, getting the attention of the Observants.
A few moments later
Frostbite had been summoned to the courtroom by the Observants, which resulted in his confusion about being brought here so suddenly.
After hearing what was happening and his reasons for being here, the chief of the Far Frozen was all too happy to help his friend and clear the good name of The Great One.
"Now...Mr. Frostbite? Or...do you prefer Chief?..."Johnathan began.
"Just Frostbite will do for now, attorney of The Great One..."The chief of the Far Frozen said in a friendly way.
"Right. Anyway...could you, in your own words, describe Danny Phantom as a person and tell us if he should be released or locked up?..."Johnathan asked as he was currently processing the fact that he was talking to a yeti ghost in a courtroom.
Frostbite didn't hesitate to answer as he talked about the young hero.
"We are talking about the Great One, the savior of the Ghost Zone. The same one who defeated that tyrant Pariah Dark and saved us all from being subjected to his tyrannical rule..."The ghostly chief said as he began to talk about his young friend's character.
"He not only saved his own dimension but all of the entire Ghost Zone. Not to mention, he uses his strength to protect his own home from those who wish to attack it, which is something my tribe and I respect. I can honestly say that he is one of the most honorable souls that I have met in my several centuries as chief of the Far Frozen..." Frostbite said in a jovial way.
Johnathan blinked, as he heard all of this and soon saw those very incidents appear on the orb as well.
He witnessed as Danny fought the Ghost King with his parent's battle suit and even when things seemed bad, he kept on fighting and eventually managed to defeat that monster and save everyone, with some help with some of the ghosts who were part of the jury, ironic enough.
"So, Danny was the one who drove back that army of ghosts that invaded?..."He thought as he recalled that incident and the first time he'd been to Fenton Works.
He recalled that incident and shivered. He recalled how the entire town had been captured and transported into another dimension, an event that gave him nightmares for over a week but he wasn't thinking about that now.
He continued talking to the ghostly yeti about the "Great One".
"Indeed, nearly falling in battle as he defeated the dreaded Pariah Dark was only one of the many outstanding things he has done as a warrior. I can honestly say that Danny Phantom is one of the bravest souls that I have the honor of knowing. The Great One is a hero that should be free, not locked up due to someone unfairly labeling him as a criminal..."Frostbite said in a serious tone of voice, while Walker glared at him.
Danny smiled when he heard that.
"Frostbite really is a great friend, isn't he?..."He thought, appreciating that his ghostly friend spoke in his defense like that.
However, Walker absolutely hates hearing all of this.
"If it wasn't for the fact that he's on the list of ghosts that I can't lock up, I would lock him up just for that! But since he's the guardian of the Infi-Map, I can't!..."He thought, fists shaking in anger.
Still, he tried to argue against what the chief of the Far Frozen just said.
"Objection! His opinion of that punk and testimony is clearly biased and exaggerated!..."Walker argued.
"And so is everyone else in the jury who spoke up. What's your point?..." Danny sassed him, while Walker snarled.
The chief of the Far Frozen spoke up again, annoyed by Walker's interruption.
"I, as the chief of the Far Frozen, have only spoken the truth and only the truth. I would never speak falsely in front of the Observants and I am honor-bound to do so in the eyes of the law when participating in court. So, my opinion about the Great One is truthful and accurate. Live with it..." Frostbite said, glaring at Walker, who frowned in irritation at the yeti ghost.
Team Phantom all saw this and smirked.
"Good thing he's on our side..." Star said, glad to have Frostbite as an ally.
"Agreed. I suddenly feel a little better about our chances of winning this case..."Sam said, feeling a little more optimistic about this now.
"Maybe we can ask more of Frostbite's people to the courtroom to even up the odds?..."Tucker said, but Walker overheard that.
"Objection! That would be against the rules. Only one representative is allowed to participate in any and all trials within the Ghost Zone's courthouse..."Walker said, using a loophole he remembered.
"Is that true?..."Star asked her father.
"Unfortunately. Rule 2,500. It's exactly how he described it, though it applies to ghosts who reside in official realms. Even so, there is nothing we can do..."Johnathan said while Danny looked to the Observants.
"It's true. There are a multitude of realms within the Ghost Zone with even more claiming independence. Meaning more seats being added to the court..."One observant said, confirming it.
"Wonderful. Of course, it couldn't be that easy..."Sam muttered sarcastically under her breath.
"Did he say "multitude of realms", just how big is the Ghost Zone?..." Jazz asked.
"Really big..."Her brother and his friends all said.
"We'll work it out. At least we managed to find someone to help so far..."Johnathan said, trying to be optimistic while his daughter sighed.
"Yeah, at least..."Star muttered.
"Let's just hope that things keep that way..." Danny said, still worried since Walker still might have some dirty tricks planned.
"The court and jury will be considering the words of Chief Frostbite. You may now take your seat amongst your peers..."The head Observant said, as he ordered Frostbite to sit with the other ghosts, near the jury.
Once Frostbite was seated amongst the other ghosts in jury seating, the atmosphere around all of them felt awkward. Since the jury seating is currently filled with Danny's enemies and one powerful ally within it.
"So, anyone else you kids know whom we can ask to help us here?..."Johnathan asked.
"That's what we're trying to figure out next, sir..." Danny said as he turned to his girlfriend and team.
"So, who next?..." Star asked.
"Maybe we can bring Clockwork here..." Danny said.
"Clockwork?..." Star asked.
"Clockwork? Who is that?..."Johnathan asked.
"A friend of mine. He's the ghost master of time and... well, let's just say if anyone can set things right, it's him..." Danny said, believing that if anyone can get all of them out of this, Clockwork can.
Johnathan seemed confused and turned to his daughter, who shrugged since she'd never met this particular ghost friend of Danny's yet.
"I've never met him before, but according to Danny, he's one of the good guys and we need all the help we can get..." Star said, and her father nodded.
He went to the Observants to try and summon the time master, but to his surprise, they refused.
"Unfortunately, Clockwork is not available to testify here today..."The Head Observant said.
"What?! Why?!..." Danny demanded, since Clockwork works for the Observants and he figured that they could easily bring him here.
He also knew that the time master never refused to set things the way they were meant to be set before.
"Clockwork is the ghost master of time, who is in charge of protecting the timeline. He is currently away on business and won't be available to deal with petty ghostly and human matters like this. So while keeping an eye on you is one of his responsibilities, it is not his only responsibility..." The head observant said bluntly.
"They think THIS is petty?!..."Danny and the others thought before they kept strategizing since Clockwork was out.
Walker raised an eyebrow, surprised to hear this.
"What could the punk have done to warrant being under the watch of Clockwork?..."The evil warden wondered before he shrugged.
It didn't matter to him, since he couldn't use that connection right now.
"No matter. I'm just grateful that the master of time isn't coming. That would have caused a lot of trouble..."He thought, just glad that at least one of the punk's allies won't get in his way.
Especially not someone powerful like Clockwork.
Most ghosts knew that Clockwork was someone not to anger, but as long as no one tried to antagonize him. They didn't need to worry since he usually kept to himself and didn't interfere with humans or ghosts matters unless it was something serious.
"The one person who is almost as troublesome is Puck and at the very least he can't prevent someone from even existing in the first place! I hate to be the kind of moron who'd try and get on either of their bad sides!..."The evil warden thought, just glad that he didn't have to risk dealing with either of them right now.
Team Phantom, on the other hand, was not happy with this inconvenience.
"Okay, Clockwork's out. The guy must be busy with a world-threatening problem or something..." Danny muttered in annoyance but knew that this was bad since he now needed to think up another one of his ghostly friends and allies to help him out.
"So, who do we ask for help now?..." Star asked, looking nervous now.
"Thankfully, we still know quite a few good ghosts who could help us get out of this mess..."Sam said to the others, grateful they might still be able to rely on them.
Present Time
"Clockwork?..." Misty asked.
"Time Master?..."Val asked, also sounding surprised.
"Yeah. He sees the past, present, and future all at once and deals with threats that could threaten the timeline..."Danny explained.
"What kind of threats?..." Misty couldn't help but ask.
"End of the world level kind of threats..."The original trio answered.
"Oh..."Val, Misty, and Star all replied, as all three were unsure how else to respond to such an answer.
They continued to hear the story, curious about who they brought instead to help Danny during this ghostly court drama.
Back to the story
With Clockwork unavailable, Team Phantom went with their next choice of a witness.
Queen Dora.
She was summoned here by the Observants and after being explained what happened, was now seated and was asked questions by Star's father.
"Now...your Highness, can you please tell us about your interactions with my client? And how have his actions affected you and your kingdom?..."Johnathan asked.
"Of course. While Sir Phantom and I technically started out as enemies, we are now friends. A while back, I was forced by my brother to take part in his plan to abduct a human bride...Lady Sam. However, Sir Phantom and his friends created a revolt and they all helped overthrow my brother after Aragon tried to force Lady Sam to marry him. Since then, I took the throne and I've been managing to lead my people into a new era of peace, prosperity and innovation, we are much happier without my brother in charge. Sir Phantom and his friends are considered heroes for liberating my people and myself from tyranny of my older brother..." Queen Dora said as she gave the recap of that adventure.
All the while, her brother was livid.
"YOU'RE A TREACHEROUS SWINE, DORATHEA! YOU SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED YOUR PLACE, YOU TRAITOROUS WENCH! WHEN I TAKE MY RIGHTFUL PLACE BACK ON THE THRONE, I'LL HAVE YOU LOCKED UP IN THE DUNGEONS UNTIL THE END OF TIME!..."Aragon snapped at her and had he had his amulet, he'd have turned into a dragon.
Dora, however, sent him a glare.
"SILENCE! BE GRATEFUL YOU WERE LOCKED UP IN MY DUNGEON BROTHER AND NOT SUBJECTED TO ONE OF THE MORE TERRIBLE PUNISHMENTS I HAD IN MIND! SUCH AS AN ETERNITY OF WORKING IN THE CASTLE STABLES CLEANING IT OR I REQUEST YOU BEING RELOCATED TO THE FREEZING DEPTHS OF THE FAR FROZEN THE CHIEF FROSTBITE ONCE OFFERED! ..."Dora shouted at him, as her face briefly became dragon-like in anger but the guards tried to stop them.
"Order in the court!..."The head observant shouted, and Dora calmed down.
"I do apologize, your honor. I also apologize for my idiot brother's rudeness and his outdated mindset..."Queen Dora said, ignoring the glare he was sending here.
"SHE DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ME! A KING APOLOGIES TO NO ONE!..."Aragon shouted, as his short temper caused him to try and attack her and the Head Observant out of impatient rage.
However, this was Aragon's final mistake. The head observant loudly hammered his wooden gavel, suddenly hundreds of chains bonded the temperamental wannabe king in mid-air. Then another loud hammering sound of the Head Observant's wooden gavel causes Aragon to be transported elsewhere.
"For his unruly behavior against the judge of this courthouse, Aragon has sentenced into solitary confinement until further notice. He will remain there and will not be released into the imprisonment of his home realm, until these proceedings have concluded..."The head observant said, while Walker groaned.
"Idiot! Now I have one less person on jury duty on my side!..."Walker thought angrily, making a mental note to deal with Aragon later.
The rest of the jury didn't seem to mind this.
"I'm glad that creep is gone. So obnoxious..."Kitty said with arms crossed.
"Same here. If I had to hear another one of his chauvinistic remarks, I was going to barbecue him!..."Ember said, her fiery hair raising a bit in anger.
"Get in line..."Desiree, Spectra, and Lunch Lady all said, nodding.
"Part of me wishes he still had that amulet, just so I could hunt him as a dragon but right now, he's far too pathetic to even make a half-decent hunt..."Skulker said, and the other guys on the jury agreed.
"Honestly, even my Shadow didn't like being around that egocentric ex-royal snob..."Johnny 13 said, as his shadow seemed to be in a slightly calmer mood.
The rest of the ghosts just continued with this "trial", glad that nuisance was gone for now. Johnathan was also glad, as he kept asking Dora questions.
"So...as I was saying...could you please describe my client's character, in your own words?..."Johanthan asked, hoping for no more interruptions.
"As I said, Sir Phantom and his friends are heroes. Even though we had once been enemies, he still helped free me and my kingdom from my brother's clutches and I do believe that he is a good person..."Dora said, while Team Phantom smiled at that.
"Do you believe that my client should be released? Or do you believe that he should be locked up?..."Johanthan asked.
"Sir Phantom is a great hero and an honorable person. I believe that he doesn't deserve to be imprisoned, especially for what is highly likely unfair charges..."Dora said, as she sent a glare at Walker since she knew of his reputation.
Walker glared at her.
"Lousy princess!..."The evil warden thought, wishing he could arrest her too but unfortunately Dora was also on the list as well.
He continued to glare at both her and Team Phantom, while the trial continued.
Later
The next person brought to the stand was Pandora.
Once she showed up, most of the ghosts became nervous due to knowing her reputation as one of the ghost zone's fiercest warriors with an even bigger temper than most of them. But none were as nervous as the Box Ghost right now.
"Oh no, not her!..."He said in dread as he hid behind the Lunch Lady ghost.
Pandora saw him as she then glared daggers at him but immediately noticed that she was summoned to Ghost Zone's courthouse and restrained her anger for now. Pandora was then informed by Danny and his friends of what was going on and she nodded in understanding. She then took her seat at the stand and focused on Johnathan and his questions right now.
"So, can you please explain to us on how exactly you know my client?..."Johanthan asked.
"Simple. I know of that young man, all because of the disrespectful actions of this idiot..."Pandora said, pointing at the Box Ghost which flinched. "He stole my box which I used to trap some of the world's malevolence and caused a rampage after trying and failing to cause mayhem by giving out shoes and sandwiches to the people of Amity Park, somehow thinking it would make people think he's a menace..."Pandora said, before she sent a glare at the Box Ghost who kept cowering behind the Lunch Lady ghost.
"How many times do I have to apologize before she'll let it go?..."The Box Ghost quietly muttered, only to flinch when she sent him a glare.
"Huh? So, he's the one who gave them away?..."Johanthan thought, as he recalled those free sandwiches that he and other people got from some supposed caterer at the park though they happened to be a bit dry.
"Not to mention that not only did that attempt at villainy predictably failed, but even those sandwiches of his were a bit dry..."Pandora said in a critical way, as she kept glaring at the Box Ghost.
"She doesn't have to be so harsh about it!..."Box Ghost thought in dismay.
The Lunch Lady sent her a glare too, as she tried to be protective of The Box Ghost, much to the disgust of Team Phantom who saw this.
"I wonder how long till Box lunch becomes a thing..." Danny thinks, kind of grossed out.
Star's father, on the other hand, was just thinking over what Pandora had just said and recalled a particular ghost attack that was just like what he just heard.
"Huh? So that's what happened..."Johnathan thought as he recalled all the craziness that happened on that day, which involved the town being attacked by snacks, raining frogs, and a three-headed monster, among other things.
Like Star mentioning someone giving out free shoe samples at the mall.
"Do you believe that my client should be released? Or do you believe that he should be locked up?..."Johanthan asked, and the female warrior ghost didn't hesitate to answer.
"I believe that Danny Phantom is a good person. He helped me get my precious box back from that thief and I saw how much he fought to protect his home. I believe that he doesn't deserved to be locked up and that he should be allowed to go free..."Pandora said, while Team Phantom looked relieved.
"I'm just glad that aside from that temper of hers, she's one of the good guys..."Danny thought, appreciating her help.
Walker's fists were clenching, his face briefly turning red with rage.
"Drat! I can't believe this. I'm looking bad thanks to this hotheaded freak and her giant mouth..."Walker grumbled under his breath, but unfortunately, he wasn't quiet enough.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!..."Pandora said in a sharp tone, alarming everyone due to her volume and her infamous temper.
Walker knew that angering Pandora is always a BAD IDEA and thought fast.
"I...I said...um...helpful female warrior...with a...giant... heart?..."The warden lied quickly, while Pandora glared at him.
"That better be the case!..."She said, glaring at him, before she did the "I'm watching you" gesture.
Walker tried not to act like he was just intimidated by her and continued to try and get this trial under his control again. Not that it was working.
"Did you see the way he flinched when she yelled a him?..."Tucker snickered as he whispered to Sam.
"Looks like someone can't keep his mouth shut. And can't stand it when someone stronger is around..."Sam said, somewhat amused by what they just saw.
Once Pandora's testimony had finished, she was then asked by the head observant to join the rest of the ghosts to watch the trial. Thankfully some of the other Observants brought another seat for Pandora to watch the rest of the trial, alongside Frostbite and Queen Dora.
Team Phantom, all the while, tried to think of anyone else who could help.
"Okay...so far, so good..."Danny said, grateful that his allies have helped them so far.
"So...who else do you kids who that could help us? Don't tell me that you kids know Santa Claus too?..."Johnathan asked, although if they told him that they did, he wouldn't be that surprised.
"He never gave us his phone number and I don't know if the Observants would bring him here..."Star said, surprising her father and getting looks from the others.
"Long story that happened last Christmas. Anyway, I have no clue if he can be brought here and right now, we really need to think of some more ghosts to help us out here..."Danny said, as they still sent him and Star looks about the Santa thing.
They tried to brainstorm and soon thought of another ghost who might be willing to testify on Danny's behalf.
"I've got an idea. He's not exactly a friend but he's nice enough. I think he can help..."Danny said as he mentioned who he had in mind.
Present Time
"Santa Claus? You two met Santa Claus? Santa Claus is actually Real?!..." Misty asked out of absolute shock.
"Okay, now I know you two are making that up. Ghosts are one thing I can believe, cause we've all seen them. But if you and Star are trying to tell me that you both meet the Real Santa Claus, then I gotta draw the line there..."Val said, believing that Danny and Star were making a joke to lighten the mood of this story.
"Real funny guys but we aren't little kids anymore..."Sam said, since she and Tucker thought that had been a joke during the trial as well.
"Yeah, quit pulling our legs and stick to the story..."Tucker said, not realizing they had been serious.
Danny and Star shared a knowing look and smiled.
"We'll save that story for another time..." Both Danny and Star quietly told each other, before continuing with the courthouse story.
Back to the Story
The next one to speak is the Dairy King Ghost.
"Can you please tell us how you first met my client?..."Johnathan asked the ghost of the Dairy King, who smiled and nodded.
"Oh, you betcha. I let out the young fellow when some no-good billionaire fruity loop, as the young fellow calls him, took up residence in my castle and captured him at my old mansion, in a lab that he added underneath it. The kid first thought I was there for a fight, though I can't really blame the boy given the same billionaire had attacked him earlier and really gave the poor boy a conundrum and then had the nerve to demand that he choose him over his own father and steal his mother. Vladdie-boy is certainly putting his money's worth when he acts like a villain, especially when compared to how the rest of the ghosts in this courtroom had already treated Danny. That Vladdie is some piece of work, doncha ya know? A total wolf in sheep's clothing kind of thing, but I did manage to tell the boy that not every ghost is evil and some of us just want to be left alone. Bless his heart for listenin'..."Dairy King said as he tried to explain as best that he recalled that incident.
"Huh... I don't remember meeting him..." Sam said.
"You and Tucker weren't there..." Danny filled her in as they kept watching.
"In fact, I'm certain that the same thing can still be said for most of the ghosts in this court room, especially the one in all white fancy suit. I wanted to help, but I just freed him and I didn't take part of that fight. I'm a lover, especially of cheese, not a fighter, don't ya know..."The Dairy King said, answering honestly.
"Meddlesome ghost, squatting on my property and always being a nuisance. Also, how many times do I have to you to leave my castle?! Why are you even still trespassing on my property?!..."Vlad snarled at him, and the dairy king rolled his eyes.
"That castle was mine first and foremost! You just usurped it. And I deserve to reside there for as long as I see fit. So the way I see it, I'm still the landowner and you were simply keeping my mansion warm for me. And even worse, you go and blow it up by not changing the ecto filtrator on yer portal. You also make for a loudly tenant, especially after hearing you constantly rant and complain about the darnest things. From trying run a town as mayor to keeping your multi-billion company stable, blaming that nice Jackie boy and trying to steal that McDonaldson girl, instead of finding a wife of his own..."The Dairy King said, striking a nerve with Vlad.
Team Phantom blinked.
"Huh...sometimes I forget that he used to live in Vlad's mansion and I kinda thought he was in the Ghost Zone the whole time. Awkward..." Danny muttered as this continued.
"To be fair, that castle was already filled to the brim with Vlad's stuff, so it's easy to forget about the previous residents before that he took care of it because he didn't change the ectofiltrator.." Jazz whispered to Danny.
"Huh, so Vlad Masters' mansion is haunted by a real ghost. Somehow that's the very least surprising thing that I've heard all day today..."Johnathan thought, before he continued to ask questions.
"So, Mr. Dairy King...about my client? Can you, in your own words, describe his character?..."The lawyer asked.
"Well, we only talked for a little while but he seems like a good kid. Much more polite than a certain former "roommate" of mine, that's for sure..."The Dairy King said, as he ignored the glare that Vlad was sending him.
"I see. And do you believe he should be locked up or go free?..."Johnathan asked the ghostly man.
"Like I said, Phantom seems like a good kid. I don't understand why anyone would want him sentenced to ghost jail. Especially when, for reasons I still don't understand, ghosts who have done so much worse are allowed to roam free..."The Dairy King said as she glared at not only Vlad but also the ghostly jury as well.
"This is why I don't like inviting him to the Christmas parties. He's such a pain!..."Walker thought in anger, while the rest of the jury didn't care for that remark the ghostly dairy king said.
"Ha. Was that remark supposed to get under our skin? Sorry, but you're going to have to do better than that..."Ember said with a scoff.
"I'm just being honest. Unlike some ghosts and ghouls here..."The Dairy King ghost said, ignoring the glares that Vlad and Walker sent him.
"Thank you for your honesty, sir..."Johnathan said, happy that he cooperated before the ghost was told to take a seat amongst the rest of the ghosts.
"Remind me to thank him, along with Frostbite and the others when this is all over..."Danny whispered to his girlfriend.
"Sure thing, Boo..."Star said with a nod.
A little later
After the Dairy King, Team Phantom was running low on options of friendly ally ghosts that they knew.
"Okay, who's next?..." Danny asked.
"Well, I don't think Cujo would help much..."Tucker said sarcastically, worried that they were running out of ghost friends who they could rely on.
"Not my fault that the few ghosts who are nice to me can be counted with two hands..." Danny muttered.
"What about all the ghosts that you've helped before? Couldn't we have some of them on the stand to testify?..."Jazz asked.
Team Phantom tried to brainstorm and fast.
"What about Poindexter?..."Tucker suggested all of a sudden, getting looks from the others.
"Who?..."Johnathan asked.
"A ghost we sometimes run into a few times, though he's not exactly a friend..."Sam said.
"Why him?..."Star asked with a frown, recalling the last they crossed paths and how messy it was.
"I mean...didn't you and Danny clear up that misunderstanding between you guys a while back?..."Tucker mentioned.
Before Danny could respond, Walker spoke up.
"Don't even bother. You guys wouldn't be able to summon him here..."Walker said, looking smug.
"What? Why?..."Johnathan asked, confused.
"When Poindexter first started working for me, I made sure to have him sign a binding contract that prevents him from being summoned to a courtroom against me. Although that same contract also states that I can't summon him to aid me in the courtroom too, I still see it as a fair compromise when hiring new help. Still, that's the rule..."Walker said.
"Is that true?..."Danny asked the Observants.
"It is. There's a rule written within the same rules of the Ghost Zone's Book of Laws that a contracted employee cannot be summoned into a courtroom involved with their employer until they have under for ten years to fully comprehend their morals and state of mind in favor or against said employer..."The head observant said.
Danny frowned when he saw the smug look on Walker's face before he and his friends tried to brainstorm again.
"Okay...all of my ghost friends have been asked to speak on my behalf. My enemies are here and already tried to make me look bad. So, who else I can ask who can talk about me in a hopefully positive way?..." Danny wondered out loud.
"Wait...what about that guy? That one ghost who shapeshifted into you that one time? Morph something?..."Star asked, recalling him.
"You mean Amorpho? Hmm...that might not be a bad idea..." Danny said, thinking that calling for his help might work out better than he thinks.
"Amorpho?..."Johnathan asked, wondering who that was.
"A shapeshifting ghost who likes to pull pranks. He tried to steal Danny's fame by shapeshifting into him and demanded Danny to stop outshining his pranks...only for it to backfire on him..."Sam answered.
"Yeah, but he once did us a favor when we needed Star and Starlight spirit to be seen in the same place..."Tucker added while Star's father was shocked to hear this.
"Star is Starlight spirit?!..." Johnathan asked before putting a hand over his face. "STARlight Spirit? How did I not make that connection sooner today?..."He said, feeling so stupid right now.
"Um...well...surprised..." Star said, while her father suddenly realized something.
"Wait...you have powers too?!..."Her father asked, stunned.
"No, I had his powers..." Star answered while pointing to Danny.
Her father still seemed lost, while Star decided to clarify.
"An enemy of ours once tried to take Danny's for himself with this magic amulet and I got caught in the crosshairs and I did what anyone else would have done in my situation. I decided to try being a superhero for a while until he got his powers back..." Star answered, while her father looked like he was getting a headache now.
"Estelle...you're my precious daughter and I love you...but I don't know how much more of these discoveries I can take! Just how many times were you Starlight Spirit for all your adventures?! And what is next?! Do you know witches and fairies too?!..."Johnathan said, feeling a migraine again.
"Um...well...a few times and...yeah..."Star said sheepishly, while her father stared at her in disbelief.
"About which?..."Johnathan asked, getting a bad feeling about this.
"All of it? Though, that girl called herself a sorceress instead of a witch, not that I care..."Star said, while her dad still looked stressed out.
"Witches? Fairies? My daughter is dating a ghost...and my daughter actually was a ghost at one point...unbelievable..."Johnathan muttered, looking like he was getting a headache.
"I'm surprised you didn't notice it as soon as you learned about Danny..."Sam said, only to get an annoyed look from Star's father.
"Sorry, but I was a little busy dealing with the most insane court case of my life...so I am a little stressed out right now. Especially after learning about my own daughter is dating a superhero and we are surrounded by hundreds of ghosts right now..." Johnathan said, not liking what he felt was disrespect now while Sam sent a sheepish, apologetic look in response.
"Yeah...that's a pretty fair reaction to all this..." Star thought, simply glad that her father isn't freaking out too badly right now.
They continued to talk about Amorpho and see if he was trustworthy.
"Anyway, can we trust Amorpho to help us?..."Jazz asked, recalling all the trouble he caused during their first encounter.
"We settled things on decent terms and he's not evil and he's never antagonized me after that incident. He's pretty much just a class clown who acts out to get attention but is otherwise harmless..." Danny said, finding Amorpho as more of a neutral acquaintance than an ally.
"Good enough..."Johnathan said as he went to talk to the Observants to summon him.
Soon enough, Amorpho was brought to the courtroom and was suddenly in a panic.
"I WAS FRAMED! I DIDN'T DO IT!..."He yelled, trying to claim innocence for what he assumed was a past prank gone wrong. Until he got a good look at the people surrounding him and began questioning the situation.
"Wait a minute, what's going on here?..."The shapeshifting ghost asked, confused.
A few moments later
Amorpho was soon fully informed by the Observants about what is going on and was asked to testify. Once everything was explained to him, the ghost prankster was now seated and being asked questions by Star's father.
"So, Amorpho, was it? Please explain to the courtroom, in your own words, describe your relationship with my client and how you met?..."Johnathan asked.
"Not much to know. I was having a little bit of fun pulling some pranks and I got a little jealous that Billy here had stolen my thunder..."Amorpho said, giving a general description of what happened from his point of view.
"You mean Danny?..." Johnathan asked pointing to Danny. "Specifically this specific person named Danny..."He added.
"Right him. As I said, I met the kid after pulling a few pranks across town. One about meatloaf, another about some blonde guy's dog. Admittedly those pranks weren't my best work, except that one with the school bus that one got a bit out of hand. That one was just a bad mixture of poor planning, bad timing, and just plain rotten luck..."Amorpho said, sounding pretty guilty about that last one.
Johnathan raised a brow.
"Wait, you're the one who caused all that mayhem?..."Johnathan asked, recalling all that property damage that his firm had to deal with.
"Including how you nearly got that children's school bus to drive over the cliff side?! Do you have any idea how many of those kids were terrified? Even the bus driver is still seeing his shrink?..."He said, trying to control his anger and continue to question this ghost with a louder tone than before.
"Guilty..."Amorpho said, though he felt bad about that.
"I was just trying to have some fun and I admit that I might have gotten carried away. Lucky for everyone involved, the half-ghost hero here managed to stop that bus and everyone was fine in the end..."Amorpho said as he kept explaining what happened, not denying his mistake while also adding how Danny saved the day too.
"Anyways, Billy...I mean Danny...and I got into a fight we got blasted with some big ray gun in his parents lab that somehow made us both unable to transform. Eventually, we worked together to get our powers back..."He said, explaining how that incident went.
Johnathan narrowed his eyes at the faceless ghost but continued with his duties as Danny's attorney.
"Anyway, answer me this. Do you believe that my client is innocent of the accusations that are being used against him?..."Johnathan asked.
"If you're asking me if I think the ghost kid is innocent, then my answer is no..."He answers, causing most of the courtroom to gasp before he continues. "I don't just think that he's innocent. I know that he is because I've spent a day walking in his shoes when we first met and dealing with so many nuisances who wouldn't leave him alone... first the paparazzi, the people who admire him for his heroics and then those jerks who he goes to school with. Including this little jerk who put a kick me sign on my back. Such a brat..."Amorpho said as he shifted his appearance to look like Dash Baxter only with red eyes instead.
"He did that to you? Also, could you please refrain yourself from morphing into other people for the duration this trial?..." Johnathan said, as he found it difficult to talk to Amorpho this way.
"Yeah. I think he was Bash or something. And sure..."Amorpho said as he changed back to his normal form.
"Is he just bad with names or is it a side effect of his powers?..."The lawyer wondered but decided that it wasn't important right now.
The Orb of Omniversal Viewing then showed scenes of Amorpho and Danny's interactions and all the scenes where Amorpho was stuck looking like Danny, while Danny was stuck in his ghost form.
"The fact the kid hasn't gone bad or just quit is really after dealing with all of that is saying something about B-...I mean Danny's character. His perseverance despite the many setbacks he deals with is pretty admirable. So, I think that he's a good egg. Too good for being locked up in this boring Ghost Zone, that's for sure..."Amorpho said, ignoring the glares he was getting from Walker.
"That lousy little prankster! When this is over, I'm gonna lock him up right next to Zoren's old cell!..."Walker thought, glaring at the shapeshifter ghost.
Amorpho ignored him, while the ghosts of the jury, some of which were past victims of his pranks, also glared at him as well.
"Typical, Amorpho. I see that you're still as obnoxious as ever..."Spectra snarked, hinting at another unspoken history that was noticed by Star and Jazz.
Amorpho glared at her but tried to remain calm and civil since he was currently in the Ghost Zone's courthouse.
"Long time no see, Phoebe..."Amorpho said, sounding annoyed.
"It's Penelope, you dimwit!..."Spectra said in annoyance, while Amorpho just didn't care.
"Whatever, I see that you and your little sidekick seem to be well..."Amorpho said in a snarky way.
"I wish that we could say the same back to you, but your face tells a different story..."Bertrand commented.
"One that still leaves much to be desired. Especially around the spot where your face should be..."Spectra snarked, getting on Amorpho's nerves and he didn't hesitate to resort.
"Says the wannabe vampiress who feeds off misery to make herself look younger than she really is or her lousy little boyfriend who had the nerve to steal my thing..."He said, since he viewed Bertrand as competition since he found out he was a shapeshifter too.
It was several years ago, when he had been pulling pranks on the other residents of the Ghost Zone and crossed paths with the duo. Needless to say, it didn't end well and nearly got them arrested by Walker's goons for causing a ruckus, though Amorpho had managed to escape at the time.
Ever since then, each times these ghosts crossed paths, it never exactly ended well.
"HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND! HE'S MY ASSISTANT!..."Spectra yelled, sounding angry and also not wanting Star's father to think she wasn't single.
"Plus, you're not the only shapeshifter in the ghost zone, Amorpho. Get over it and try and find some new material to get attention. Like puppetry...or better yet, a face of your own..."Bertrand mocked.
"I see you're still as "witty" as ever, Bernie. And that's rich coming from someone who works as HER puppet..."Amorpho mocked, pointing at Spectra.
"I'm not her puppet..."Bertrand said, looking offended when he said that.
"Oh please, you're still serving as Spectra's second banana. What? No openings for a shapeshifting clown? Though, I guess that is mostly due to lacking a sense of humor..."Amorpho snarked, surprising Team Phantom with their hostility.
"My name is BERTRAND! And at least I have a face of my own, you twit..."Bertrand said in irritation, still being hostile towards him.
"I never knew they actually knew each other. Though I'm not surprised they aren't exactly pals. Still, I wonder who else knows one another before meeting me?..."Danny thought as they continued to watch this.
"I see that the years haven't change how you act around other people...as in like a total idiot who wants attention. But it makes sense, you couldn't get anyone to notice you while you were alive and you clearly just want to be the center of attention now. Even if it means acting as the most obnoxious person in the room...which you have already accomplished long ago..."Spectra said, as she tried to mock him, but Amorpho always had a comeback.
"At least I can change my looks without having to steal someone else's youth and make everyone around me miserable. Ever heard of plastic surgery, granny?..."Amorpho mocked, before demonstrating what she really looks like and enraging Spectra.
"HOW ABOUT I MAKE YOU LOSE SOMETHING OTHER THAN YOUR FACE, YOU WANNABE?!..."Spectra snarled at him, still angry over her true age being revealed earlier.
"I'm shaking in my non-existent boots..."Amorpho said dryly before looking at Spectra with a glare.
Even without having a face, Danny and the others could tell Amorpho felt nothing for Spectra but dislike. While Spectra felt the same and showed with a look on her face that could kill or even vaporize Amorpho on the spot.
Amorpho wasn't done yet as he kept mocking her.
"Instead of wasting time trying to steal youth from kids, and flirting with guys who are way out of your league, why not stop pretending to be a therapist and actually go see one yourself? Or get some real plastic surgery? Who knows? It would make you less unpopular and you might actually get noticed by a guy who is actually single. Still, I doubt it would be enough to fix that lousy attitude of yours..."Amorpho said, receiving a glare from the vain ghoul.
"I doubt anything could fix that..."Bertrand commented under his breath, but his boss heard that loud and clear.
"What was that?! You're supposed to be on my side, Bertrand!..."Spectra snapped at him.
"I am on your side Spectra! I am honest about that! I've always been loyal to you and no one else!..."Bertrand said quickly, looking nervous from her glares.
"That better be true..."Spectra said, still glaring at her cowardly minion.
Team Phantom saw this and one of them got an idea, to both buy more time and to get some payback too.
"Oh, is that so?..." Danny questioned, glaring at them until Star got an idea.
"You mean kind of like that one time when you and your little minion tried to haunt that new mall opening and while Boo here was busy dealing with you, your little toad here was willing to sell you out in exchange for not getting pummeled by yours truly with my ecto-saber and Sam using the ghost gauntlets. Before my Boo decked him and captured you both in the same thermos as you..." Star revealed, ignoring Bertrand's "no" gesture but it was too late.
Suddenly, the courtroom was silent as Spectra was glaring at Bertrand right now.
"Is that true...Bertrand?!..."Spectra said in a low, threatening tone of voice.
Bertrand gulped and tried to think fast.
"W-Well...sell-out is such a strong word...and...somewhat accurate..."He said weakly, before regretting how he said that but it was too late.
He screamed as Spectra grabbed him and began to shake him, causing chaos among the jury.
"YOU LOUSY LITTLE TRAITOR! WHEN I'M DONE WITH YOU, I'LL RIP YOU APART SO BADLY THAT EVEN YOU WON'T RECOGNIZE WHAT YOU SEE IN THE MIRROR!..."Spectra yelled at him, while the guards tried to separate them and the Observants tried to regain order in the court.
Team Phantom could only watch in mild amusement.
"I'm almost tempted to see that happen, almost..."Danny muttered.
Walker saw this and rolled his eyes.
"Idiots! I really should have picked out better candidates for this plan!..."He thought, hating how chaotic this was getting.
"Perhaps it's time that I stepped in to bail you out of this mess. At the rate this is all going, you'll need at least one competent ally on your side..."Vlad whispered to Walker, trying to help so that the white-suited ghost would be indebted to him.
Walker thought about Vlad's offer to help him but felt it was too soon to give in since he hadn't heard back from Bullet from his backup task yet.
"Not yet..."Walker whispered since he still tried to do things his way for now.
"PENELOPE! CALM DOWN, PLEASE! YOU KNOW I JUST GOT MY HAIR DONE JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT!..."Bertrand pleaded as Spectra tried to get away from the guards so she could attack him again.
"SHUT UP! I'M GONNA REMIND YOU WHY IT'S A BIG MISTAKE TO BETRAY ME! JUST AS SOON AS I GET MY HANDS ON YOU!..."Spectra shouted in fury, while the guards kept restraining her and the Observants tried to bring order back to the courtroom.
Walker shook his head in anger and annoyance.
"When this is over, I'm going to place all these idiots on wanted posters for their recapture..."The ghostly warden thought, as his guards kept trying to stop Spectra and Bertrand from creating more chaos in the courtroom.
Later
After Spectra and Bertrand were given their last warning to behave...AFTER Spectra was restrained and eventually calmed down.
Soon enough, the trial continued. Albeit, Bertrand was cringing as Spectra kept glaring daggers at him.
"Just you wait until this trial is over!..."She told him after Walker's other guards restrained them and kept the two of them apart.
"What did I ever do to deserve this? Besides the obvious..."Bertrand thought but no one paid him any mind as the trial continued.
"Okay, as fun as it was watching Spectra trying to tear apart Bertrand, we still need some more people to speak in Danny's defense. So, any ideas?..."Sam asked.
"Like I said, we can't summon Danielle or Wulf. No matter what..."Danny whispered to them, knowing that the risks to both of their safety were too big.
"And Puck is still too chaotic to be trusted to take any of this seriously..."Star muttered.
"Plus, he's not really a friend exactly, just someone who we somehow managed to form a truce with..."Tucker said.
"And I wouldn't trust him to not make things worse..."Sam muttered, still holding a grudge against the fae.
"And he'd probably want something in return too..."Jazz said, knowing how unpredictable he is.
"He probably would. I think that it be best if we all avoid him for now. Knowing him, he'd probably turn half the people here into farm animals or garbage...including us..."Danny said since that fae was still too chaotic to trust.
"There has got to be someone else who can help us. I mean...Boo, you've met like a bazillion ghosts at this point and you admit that not all of them are evil. Come on, there has to be at least someone else who can vouch for you..."Star said with worry since they didn't have time on their side right now.
Danny tried to think but soon got an idea of who to summon, though it had a slim chance of working.
"I think that I have an idea. It's a long shot but we need all the help we can get..."Danny said, getting his team's attention.
"Who do you have in mind?..."Star asked, hoping it would be good.
Once Danny whispered his idea to everyone, Star seemed confused while Sam and Tucker seemed unsure.
"You sure about this Danny?..."Sam asked, finding this a little risky.
"No, but we don't exactly have a lot of options available. And technically speaking...we might not have become friends, but we didn't become enemies either...I think..."Danny said, though that sounded weak.
"Who is he talking about?..."Johnathan asked, looking uneasy since the judge was getting impatient now.
"Freakshow's minions, other than Lydia, who are actually just some victims of that lunatic..."Tucker said while Sam continued to explain.
"During Danny's "crime spree", he was brainwashed by an evil ringmaster who may still have total ghost envy according to Jazz..."Sam said, surprising Johnathan.
"Yeah, that same guy who ran Circus Gothica..."Jazz added.
"You mean that crook who used that creepy circus to commit all of those robberies?..."Johnathan asked in shock.
Team Phantom nodded.
"Yeah. He had some magic crystal ball staff that hypnotized ghosts into doing his bidding. Don't ask us how he got it. Danny ended up falling under that crystal ball's spell and acted totally crazy and did all those robberies until Tucker and I managed to snap him out of it..."Sam explained.
"It's true. It's only because that stupid thing broke that Danny and those other ghosts were fully free and that jerk got arrested. Served him right..."Tucker added.
Star's father was speechless. Recalling that crime spree, the male lawyer started to see a lot of questions he had finally answered.
"That does explain a lot of questions that I had in the back of my mind..."He said to himself, while his daughter kept speaking.
"Those ghosts were technically victims of being mind-controlled by a narcissistic maniac with ghost envy too. So, maybe they might help if we ask..."Jazz said, since her brother already explained to her what had happened during those days.
"Yeah. Maybe we can convince them to help and buy us time. After all, they do technically owe Danny for freeing them from Freakshow's control..."Star explained, while her father sighed.
"Well, beggars can't be choosers..."Johnathan thought as he went to the Observants and asked whom they wanted to summon...and hoped it wouldn't backfire.
A few moments later
Johnathan had managed to get to the Observants to summon THREE ghosts this time.
However, none of the heroes knew the names of these ghosts until they could find them. Thankfully the Head Observant was capable of finding them thanks to the Orb of Omniversel viewing.
"Thank you for joining us...now...um?..."Johnathan began but paused since he didn't know their names yet but the ghosts introduced themselves.
"My name is Goliath, I'm the strong man of the group..."The tallest of Freakshow's former minions declared as he crossed his arms.
"Right..."Johnathan said, before turning to the female of the group.
"My name is Elastica. The shapeshifter of the group..." Elastica said, showing off her power by morphing into random objects for a moment.
Johnathan then turned to the remaining of Freakshow's former minions, the short one who seemed less than thrilled to be here right now.
"I'm Jim..."The shortest guy of their trio said.
"Wait...Jim? That's your name?..."Danny said, surprised while the guy looked annoyed.
"Yeah, it is. What's it to ya?..."Jim asked, looking annoyed.
Not wanting to risk putting his foot in his mouth, Danny didn't really have anything to say unnecessary.
"Never mind..."Danny said, looking sheepish.
"Just so you know, Goliath and Elastica are just stage names they use. Those aren't their real names..."Jim pointed out.
"Really?..."Team Phantom all asked, and the ghosts looked like they just asked something foolish.
"Duh. My name is actually Emma but that control freak apparently didn't think it was stage-worthy... or "dramatic enough" as he called it..."Elastica/Emma said bitterly, still angered as she thought about that rotten human with ghost envy.
"And my name is Jeff. I use Goliath as a stage name for the same reasons. Plus, it just sounds cooler..."Goliath said, being completely honest.
"Uh...okay..."Danny said while Star's father began to ask questions again.
He started with Goliath, who was now seated and being asked questions by the blonde lawyer.
"So, Mr. Goliath...can you explain your relationship with my client? How did you come across Freakshow and my clients before you and your companions regained your free wills?..."Johnathan asked.
"What's there to say? We'd been servants for years to the Showenhower family due to that lousy crystal ball of theirs. They used us to entertain their audiences and treated us like props. Until their son, Frederich or Freakshow as he calls himself, decided to use us as thieves and lackeys..."Goliath explained, sounding bitter as he recalled those days.
He spoke about his time as Freakshow's mind-controlled minion. About how he was forced to commit crimes against his will and whatever else that madman wanted until he and his friends were finally freed. The Orb also showed these events, confirming them.
"And about Danny? Can you tell us what you think about his character?..."Johnathan asked.
"The Phantom kid, I got no problem with him. But if I ever see Freakshow's sorry mug ever again, he's going to wish that he stayed locked up in whatever dingy prison cell the humans tossed him in!..."Goliath said, making his hatred of his former "master" obvious.
"Can't say that I blame him..."Johnathan thought, glad that someone like Freakshow was locked behind bars.
"And do you believe that Danny should be freed or locked up in Walker's prison?..."Johanthan asked.
"That Phantom kid isn't a bad guy and I don't know why someone wants to lock him up in a cell. But I think being Freakshow's servant for even a week is punishment enough..."Goliath said in a blunt way.
Soon, Elastica/Emma spoke next, looking just as upset as her friend as she talked about her past experiences as Freakshow's minion.
"Like Goliath said, that control freak used us as minions and servants. He clearly wanted more power and money, willing to steal and hurt anyone to get it. He wanted the ghost kid as a minion and the kid was turned into a mindless servant like the rest of us. But he was fighting it for whatever reason he could. Somehow, he managed to snap out of it and freed us too. And let me say that it wasn't soon enough..."Elastica said, glad to be free.
"And your opinion on Danny? About his character?..."Johnathan asked.
"I ain't got no problem with that kid. Whatever bad thing he did around that time was because that creep literally brainwashed him to do it. Other than that, he seems harmless. I can't say the same for Freakshow, who's gonna be eating meals through a straw if I ever cross paths with him again..."Elastica said, being blunt.
"I see. And do you believe that Danny Phantom should be locked up or freed?..."Johanthan asked.
"I don't know why some ghosts here have a beef with Phantom and honestly I don't care. But I don't think he's a bad kid and I think that he's been through enough as it is..."Emma said, also being blunt.
"I see. Thank you, Miss..."Johnathan said as he continued with the trial.
Soon, it was Jim's turn and Johnathan began asking him questions.
"How would you describe my client, as a person and whether or not he should be locked up in Walker's jail or not?..."Johnathan asked Jim, who merely shrugged before answering.
"There's not much to say but since the kid helped us be free of that lunatic and he only did those crimes under mind control, just like how Goliath and Elastica said. He seems to be an okay kid. Though a bit on the naive side since he actually thought that we'd try and tell the cops and those ghost hunters what happened to us. As if anyone would ever believe us. No way I was going to get captured again after finally being free. Still, I don't think he did anything that deserves to be locked up in a place like this..."Jim said, bluntly but truthfully.
"I see, thank you. No further questions..."Johnathan said, glad about these responses.
Freakshow's former minions soon went to join the other ghosts who spoke in Danny's behalf, mostly waiting for this to be over now. Team Phantom was relieved, happy that this wasn't counterproductive.
"Glad to see they had the decency to be honest about what happened during that incident..."Danny said, relieved.
"Yeah, thank goodness..."Star said, glad that they didn't say anything bad about Danny during the trial, besides calling him naive.
However, Walker got angry and felt that he was losing control of this situation. He absolutely hated not being in control.
"Darn it! This ain't going according to plan and all because of one stinking, lousy lawyer who actually has a conscience and a bunch of stupid ghosts who can't keep their mouth shut!..."Walker mentally yelled as he tried to think fast.
He knew that if this kept up, he was going to have to risk owing Plasmius an even bigger favor just to get this trial back on track. And he'd rather NOT give that Fruitloop anything else to use against him in the future if he could help it.
He saw Johnathan and hated that his plan was off the rails like this thanks to his interference.
"If he wasn't here, that punk would already be locked up! Darn it! Why couldn't the punk have dated a girl whose old man was a dentist or a salesman?! But no, he had to pick the daughter of a LAWYER of all things?!..."Walker kept complaining in his head before he snapped out of it.
He can't afford to lose it right now. He needed to think of something smart and get the Observants to deem that punk guilty.
"No matter! I'll get the Observants to sentence that punk to an eternity in a prison cell, along with his little girlfriend, friends, and that lousy goody-goody lawyer of his! I'll make sure of it!..."The evil warden thought in anger and determination.
He was going to win this trial, no matter what it took.

Next time on Court
An Even Playing Field II
A/N(1): I dedicate this chapter to my family, my friends and my love for God :)
A/N(2): Special thanks to 61394, Jay The Average Fanboy, NeoMark and Luiz4200 for all their help. You guys rock :)
REPLIES to my loyal and totally awesome reviewer:
Scooter2: You were right about most of the ghosts appearing, though Team Phantom didn't ask for Wulf since Walker was there.
ZeroTheOne and Guest(1): Thanks for the suggestions, I will see what I can do.
Invader Johnny: How's this?
Nicolas Belasco, Jebest4781 and Guest(2): Thank you :)
RonaldM40196867:
1) I think Danny is a supernatural creature.
2) Colette was somewhat inspired by both characters.
3) Johanthan probably would compare Spectra to Beatrice.
4) Thanks for the suggestion, but everyone pretty much calls her the old bat.
5) Yes, Vivian and Theodore were also banned from the country club.
6) Yes, after the events of Blackmailed, even Pamela and Jeremy don't want anything to do with Jean-Luc.
7) Star's family still thinks Danny is a better boyfriend to Star than Kwan was, but they are at least grateful he helped out.
8) Jean Luc was also held responsible for Colette's actions in Blackmailed, and Eleanor hates the two of them for being horrible snobs. Not to mention that Jean-Luc isn't very well-liked at the country club for his attitude, even among his fellow socialites.
9) Yes, Team Phantom and Stella's family want nothing to do with Jean-Puke.
10) Since Colette is at boarding school and her crimes were known, they probably don't think it's necessary.
11) As for Jean-Puke, sorry, no spoilers. I guess that we will have to wait and see what happens.
Luiz4200: Yeah.
Guest(3): How is this?
JDF Legacier Morphicon: Thank you :)
Here are my responses to your questions:
1) I think Jack would like bowling.
2) I think Johnathan might have changed a bit if he grew up in the Ghost Zone but would still be a good person.
3) I think Queen Dora would be a fairy ghost mother.
4) I do believe that the A-Listers would become his biggest fans, Lancer and the other teachers would be more understanding of Danny and everyone else in Casper High would treat Danny like a celebrity.
:) I hope you enjoyed this! Remember to read and review :)
