3 weeks before the call
"How is Elena?" Jeremy asked from his desk as he smelled his son and daughter coming into the room.
Holly and Clay had just gotten back from Toronto as Logan was giving them an update on Elena as she was not picking up calls from anyone but him. Holly even did a bit of staking and followed Elena all over the city one of the days they were there to see how her life was in the moment.
"She seems happier there than when she was here." Holly said
Holly knew that being one of the pack's enforcers, like Clay is now and Elena in the past, was challenging as you could never let your guard down even for a second. Clay thrived in the position as he didn't really care what people thought of him and he liked hitting people and the enforcing gave him a reason for it.
"She's even talking with Logan under the guise of Elena needing therapy." Clay said
"And that's good as she hasn't fully left the pack yet. As if she did, Logan would terrorize her into leaving Toronto like he does with the mutts that pass through." Jeremy said
Clay knew this as when Elena first started talking to him after leaving Stonehaven, it was a shock to him as he had thought that Elena was going mutt.
"She is slowly starting to talk to the pack more. And that means she will come home regularly even if she has her permeant address is in Toronto." Holly said
"Who do you think she will talk to next?" Jeremy asked
"You mean after Logan taking six months of patiently waiting for Elena to talk with him without her running away in fear each they ran into each other?" Holly asked
"Exactly." Jeremy said
"It would be either Antonio or Holly as they know to never push Elena into anything that she doesn't want to do or talk about." Clay said
Clay remembers that out of the whole pack, Elena was closest with Holly as his sister was equally angry with him over biting Elena. And there was the fact that, aside from Logan being a real therapist, Antonio was the easiest to talk to and would become a teddy bear if needed. Whenever Holly or Clay couldn't talk to Jeremy, they always went to Antonio as he would never tell a secret without permission unless it was life or death.
"When do you think we should start asking her to come back around?" Jeremy asked in hopes that Elena will come back before the other alphas come sniffing around and asking about her.
The other bitten females were always in the European and asian packs but Elena was the first for a pack in the Americas. Sure every pack had their fare share of hereditary females, but female wolves were more common to be born wolves then survive the bite. Hell, a pack member named Pete Myers was born to a hereditary female and bitten male.
"In about a year or 2. Give her time to actually be comfortable around us again." Holly said
"And give her time to forgive Clay as well." Jeremy said
"Yep." Holly said popping the 'P'
Holly didn't say that Clay was 100% at fault as her father was about to kill Elena because he thought she had seen him change out of his wolf form. All 3 of them knew that but didn't want to upset Elena with this information as she needed to trust Jeremy and all of the others in the pack. Holly wanted to tell Elena, but her father didn't want the fact that he was about to kill the blonde over a fact that may or may not have happened all those years ago. Holly only agreed as she didn't want to go against her fathers wishes or be kicked out of the pack for going against orders.
"But…" Clay started
Jeremy then looked up from the paperwork he had been working on to his son.
"But nothing Clay. You will leave Elena alone. And if you don't leave her alone, you could scare her off to the point where we would have to classify her as a mutt." Jeremy said in his alpha voice.
"Yes dad." Clay said as he looked to his feet in shame.
"And we both know that's not what none of us wants, is it?" Jeremey asked
"No. It's not." Clay said
"That's right." Jeremy said
"Well, this was fun, but I have to go and meet up with Draco and Daphne in New York City." Holly said
"You know what to get for the pack while in the city." Jeremy said
"Of corse dad." Holly said
"What do you have to do in the city?" Clay asked
The only thing Clay could thing of was that her publisher had moved up the time line and she needed to go to New York and her friends were just there as a coincidence.
"Board meeting for Black Industries tomorrow. And since I'm Chairman of the board, I have to be there in person." Holly said before she went to her room to pack for this trip.
When Holly was packing, she also checked her wallet and purse and she had all her debit cards, credit cards and check book that she needed for her trip. After she finished packing her things, she walked down to the front door and she saw her father standing there waiting for her.
"Have a good trip. And be safe." Jeremy said
"Thank you dad." Holly said
The two hugged each other before Jeremy opened the door and let Holly walk to the edge of the property so she appellate away. Holly only went to the property line as she and her friends had put some serious wards around the property that only allowed certain magical people in. But the wards doesn't allow apperation in or out unless its an emergency and there was notice to get the wards down in time. But the wards don't stop wolves as Jeremy constantly has meetings with mutts who follow the rules and are passing through and some alphas needing to talk or get advice.
"Good you made it." Draco said as he saw his friend apperate in.
"Yes yes. I'm here." Holly said
"Come on, let's get to the hotel." Daphne said
The trio walked down the road to The Ritz-Carlton where they had reservations, well where Draco and Daphne had reservations. Nick was there already as he was opening up a new club and he already had a room with a key waiting for his wife. Daphne and Draco only had reservations as they were able to do their jobs from their home and only coming in once or twice a week if they didn't have board meetings.
"Good evening. Welcome to The Ritz-Carlton." The receptionist said with an obviously fake smile.
The receptionist was probably at the end of her shift and was ready to go home and put her feet up.
"Hi. I'm Mrs. Holly Sorrentino. My husband, Mr. Nick Sorrentino said that he has a key card waiting for me." Holly said pushing that she was married to Nick.
Holly does this as whenever Nick checks into a hotel before her or with her, there were many female or gay receptionists who do not believe that she is married to Nick. Or they fully believe that she is a high end escort or prostitute and he is getting lucky that night.
"Of corse. Here you go." She said handing Holly the key card.
Holly would have thought that the receptionist was being a bit bitchy, like she had been here when Nick and wanted him as he was quite hot. But Holly saw the ring on the receptionist's finger and knew that it had to be something else for her to be like this and in this mood.
"How long have you been with your partner?" Holly asked not wanting to offend the receptionist and she took the key card.
"I've been married to my husband for almost 7 years but with him for 18 years." The receptionist said with a big and this time real smile.
"Just wait. Me and Nick have been married for 10 years and together for 19." Holly said
"Wow!" The receptionist said
"I know. Thank you." Holly said before moving to the side so she could wait for her friends to check in.
Once Daphne and Draco were all checked in, they went to the elevator where they talked about why they were there. And since they were all on the same floor, they didn't have to stop till they reached there respective rooms to unpack and settle in.
"Yay! You're here!" Nick said with a smile when he saw his wife enter the room.
Holly smiled when she her husband on the bed.
"Hey babe." Holly said before flopping onto the bed next to Nick.
"You look tired." Nick said
When Nick said this Holly turned onto her back so she could clearly talk to her husband before even thinking of speaking herself.
"I'm beat. I just came from stalking Elena in Toronto before I had to come here." Holly said
"What did Logan have to say about her?" Nick asked
"She's doing better. Slowly getting back to where she was with us. Clay thinks Elena will start talking to either me or you dad next." Holly said
"Let's just hope that Clay won't answer the phone when she does finally reach out to someone." Nick said
"Yeah. Let's hope." Holly said fearing that her brother will answer her phone and scare Elena off.
Holly sent a message to her friends that she was going to stay in her room as she was way to tired to socialize. She said that she was just going to order room service for both her and Nick before turning in early to get some rest. They understood as they knew Holly just got back from a trip to Canada with her brother to check up on a pack member of hers who doesn't call anymore. Both of them were briefed on Elena when she was bitten by Clay and surviving the bite and then again when she ran away to Toronto as if she was a human again.
The next morning, at 6 am, Holly woke up refreshed for a new day and was ready to face the assholes of the Black Industries board. Luckily Daphne and Draco were also on the board, Draco as the owner and Daphne as the CEO, so she could have a little fun with them and make fun of the others. And as Chairman of the board, it was Holly's duty everything went smoothly and everyone of the board was doing their jobs correctly. Holly liked her job sometimes as there were a few instances where she got to yell at people who were acting out of line or acting entitled and demeaning the people under them.
"Good morning you two." Holly said with a smile as she met her friends at one of the hotel restaurants for breakfast.
"Good morning." Draco and Daphne said in unison.
"Nick is not joining us this morning?" Daphne asked as she looked around for the handsome werewolf who stole her friends heart.
When Holly had shown her friends a picture of Nick back in 5th year, Daphne swooned at the sight of the young werewolf. Ever since that day, Daphne wanted to have at least one night of pure pleasure with Nick, one night of nonstop fucking. But Daphne knew that Nick was in love with Holly and would only give the red headed female wolf that kind of pleasure.
"He is getting breakfast with a poetical liquor vendor at a different establishment this morning." Holly said
Daphne and Draco knew that Nick was trying to get his new club here in the city up and running smoothly and that clubs like that only sell alcohol. Clubs don't really need that much behind the scenes space like bars do as they only need a place for the booze, mixers and staff. Nick already had 4 clubs in the US, 1 in Miami, 1 in Los Vegas, 1 in Reno and the last 1 is in Los Angelus and they were all doing fantastic. The 2 in Vegas and Reno were just a bit bigger as they had a poker room and room for the slots he had put in due to Nevada's laws on gambling.
Now all Nick needed to do to coin all the party cities was put a Club in New York and all the major work was done. He could put one in Chicago and a few other major cities, but he wouldn't have time for all of them at the moment. His accountants were already swamped right now with money going where it was suppose to with either direct deposit for staff or writing checks for contractors, vendors and taxes. Nick's accountants would usually pay the taxes, the tabs for the vendors, permit renewals if need be and all of the staff including themselves before thinking of giving Nick his share of the money.
"Buttering up people so they would say yes to him?" Draco asked
"Isn't that how you got most of your contracts?" Holly asked
It was pretty well known in the board that Draco had taken people out to a meal or had been taken out to a meal by a client just to get a favorable contract.
"Touché." Draco said
The trio was soon seated at a table, their waitress came quickly and they ordered their food and drinks so they could have time to eat before getting to the meeting. Holly had ordered more than her friends as her metabolism worked faster and harder than a normal humans metabolism. In the back of Holly's mind, her need to eat more than normal was one reason why she and Nick ordered room service last night. Once the food had come to the table, Daphne, Holly and Draco started eating as they needed to get going and Holly had a lot of food to get down without getting hiccups.
Two hours later, Holly, Daphne and Draco had finished their breakfast and had gotten to the Headquarters of Black Industries for the monthly board meeting.
"Good morning Mr. Black." The receptionist said
After Lucious had been convicted as a Death Eater, Narcissa had gone back to her maiden name and Draco had changed his name to Black. They didn't want to be associated with a known Death Eater, that was also one reason why Draco had moved to America after graduation.
"Good morning Lana." Draco said before moving to the elevator.
During the board meeting, it was all numbers and everyone was bored out of their minds as they wished they were anywhere else but there.
