From the last Recap, Reynold and his boys were let loose, thinking they've got the advantage...As the shadow of the monster army closes to Ur, Will Traysek and his new syndicate succeed with ease in bringing down the priest and capturing Beasley? or are they in for a real fight this time...?
Chapter 60
Counter Attack! The assault on Ur! (Part 2)
Near Ur's northern Gate...
On a different road, two teams of adventurers made their way to the city of Ur: The infiltration team led by Traysek and the other team led by a high adventurer known as the captain. The frontline soldiers coming from Feoh were currently using the main roads, prompting them to take another path, travelling in large crates at the back of a merchant's cart, who had accepted to smuggle them in.
Eventually, the old merchant arrives at the Northern gate of Ur, the guards stopping him at it...
"The city's closed." the guard yelled, "Unless controlled, nothing can get in!"
From the front of the cart, from a crate, Traysek had an eye on the strange guards, noting their dark armor, 'That's... no holy knight...who did we just run into...?'
The old merchant grinned, "By all means sir, I have a special delivery for Lord Regis, a large one infact..."
Traysek's crate got opened and a strange knight was the one who was looking at him.
The half-masked redguard blinked twice at him, "Hello there~" with a friendly wave.
After starting at him for a moment, the knight said, "This isn't good. It must be confiscated."
The merchant raised an eyebrow, still smiling, "Oh? Is that so...? Very well, but please, do handle with care,"
At that moment, the merchant got off the cart and left it to the hands of the guards.
The Redguard smirked under his half-masked, 'Well...looks like that worked out, now to see where we're going...' As the cart was taken through the gates.
After a moment, the cart stopped and the crates were opened again.
"I take that everything went smoothly." they heard someone talk.
They all turned around to find an older man in fine grey and gold regal clothing approaching them as they stepped out of the standing crates. What was off-putting about him was the paleness in his skin, something the Redguard more than recognized.
'Interesting...so this is our contact, I get the same feeling from him, as I do from any other vampire I run into...I hope he's a decent guy...' he mused.
"My name is Regis." the man said with a smile, "You are the ones that were told to aid, right?"
Traysek nodded, "That's right, the name's Traysek and this is the infiltration team I'm leading...Mostly..." offering a handshake, "And I remember your name, it's come up a couple of times... It's nice to finally put it with a face," with a chuckle.
"Well, I did heard a few things about you myself." Regis replied, shaking his hand.
"Oh~? What sorts of things did you hear...?" The Redguard asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, such things as you being strong and competent." Regis began, "But also that you're a womanizer who'd charm and sleep with any woman, a thief who'd steal from anyone, and my favorite, that you're ready to do anything to get your way."
Traysek laughed, "Hey now~ Go any further and you'll make me blush," he joked, "I'm a driven person, I'll give you that...But as for the "womanizer" bit, Eh..." he shrugged, "If me not wanting to be tied down makes me one, so be it... I know where I am and what I want from life at the moment... and I'm content with that..." pulling down his half mask, showing a smile, "The least I can do, is be honest and open about it..."
"Just bear in mind how others think." Regis smiled, "Let's leave that discussion to later as there are more pressing matters; I can positively affirm that the king and queen are dead, both drank poison... I think that they have no further use to the church..."
The Redguard hummed, pulling the mask back up, "I figured as much... Well, Prim will be happy in that regard. She wanted them gone anyway and that spares us the trouble of wondering if they're alive..." with another shrug, "This would also mean the royal castle has no doubt been taken over, correct...?"
Regis nodded to that, "That goes to the second thing; Knights and Dogs are armed with weapons that have strange abilities. According to my familiars, some of those weapons can use black flames."
"Those with ashes of war in them...?" Traysek responded, "We're all too familiar with those... I even remember Volt having a weapon that used those very flames you mention..." slowly nodding, "Good to know, that gives an insight to what we'll be facing here..."
"They also had similar ones back at the caravan job around the Geofu area," Recorder added, "One thing's for certain, those are being imported here from there...And we know our big blacksmith friend ain't doing it..."
"Unfortunately, there's more to this." Regis sighed, "While Geofu did bring them weapons... there are some strange crystal weapons also used. From what my familiars found, those crystals can be used to bring a dead one to life as a puppet."
Traysek frowned at that, remembering something, "Hmm... Like the enemies, both she and Dargo faced, from what I was told, they were very puppet-like too... Sounds like it's connected..."
"However, those weapons are from Thorn." Regis stated, "And Thorn is under total control of the Inquisition... that's also where Fort Blackstone is."
"I see..." The Redguard hummed, "After meeting one of the inquisitors, I can safely say they're involved in some way..." sighing after, "But now's not the time to figure that out...The thing we need is the location of our targets, the archbishop here and Beasley..."
"The Prime Minister is in the castle, surrounded by various strong mercenaries he bought off using the last of his wealth." Regis replied, "As for Stannos... he's too religious to leave the church, he's in an underground chamber beneath the church, using both the Lightbringer, and some of the strongest Holy Knights of both Feoh and Ur."
"So they're both walled up pretty well, interesting..." The nightingale rubbed his chin, "I guess that answers where Valery is for Emily here..." Nodding his head towards her "Is there Anywhere we could blindslide either of them from? Any hidden paths to both the church and Castle...?"
"For the church is near impossible." Regis answered, "Every knight in patrol is special as killing only one would alert all the others, and that's without mentioning the tight corridors that would be a hassle. As for the castle, there's one last hidden entrance unknown to the others besides princess Prim, and it would be much simpler than the church as Stannos is smarter than Beasley."
The Redguard thought on it, "Hmm, near impenetrable you say..." a small smirk graced under the mask, "That's expected...I didn't change into this gear for nothing though...As much as it would be easier to go after only Beasley, we can't forget that Greil is also on his way with the real number of forces the city...if this priest isn't taken care of by then..." with a knowing look.
"Yes... he'd be able to take control over the forces, which could be used to attack Feoh." Regis nodded.
"Right... But at the same time, one shouldn't infiltrate a place without knowing its ins and outs, that being said..." Traysek paused, turning his head to Lucien, "You do have that new drone with you, right?"
"Yeah, I can summon it here, do we need it now?" The imperial asked.
"I'm thinking so, yeah...We'll need to survey both places, before going...and since you told me it doesn't stand out from any other bird here, it'll work," The Redguard smiled.
Lucien grinned, bringing up a summoning spell in hand, "One second," charging it and throwing it, causing a blue portal to open and a small mechanical bird came out, flying and landing on his shoulder, "And before you ask, I integrated our scouters to it, you should be able to see what it sees..." flying over to Traysek's shoulder and landing, "Simply activate the new mode and the drone will be ready to go where you tell it to..."
"Got it," The dragonborn nodded, clicking a button on his scouter, causing it and the birds eyes to light up simultanously, before it took off to the sky, his vision changing to that of the birds.
Mech-bird's pov...
Now in the skies over the city, the bird had gotten a good overall view, eyes lit up...
"Okay boss, since this is your first time testing this, tell me, do you have a bird's eye view of the city..." Lucien's voice sounded.
"I do...I can damn near see everything almost...The camera on this drone is insane... in color too..." Traysek's voice came next, as the camera zoomed in on them, "Okay...that's us...good to know we're far from guard activity..."
"Since we can both see from him, I'll handle the controls, just call out certain points...and since you mentioned the church first, that's where we'll stop at first...let's fly!"
The bird soon soared towards the large building, turning out to be the church, perching on a nearby statue...
"Security is up the ass here...This entire church is crawling with guards and they seem devoid of emotion, look at their eyes..." Traysek said, zooming the camera into their emotionless faces/
"Those are the same expressions the knights we fought had..." Recorder's shocked voice chimed in.
"Just because it is, doesn't mean it's same thing...although it wouldn't shock me if were..." Inigo sounded next.
"See if you can get a better view of church, this is nice enough view, but it doesn't cover the entire area..."
The bird once again moved from it's perch, heading to another on the belltower, getting a much better view of the entire complex...
"How's that...?" Lucien asked.
"Much better...Now let's see what we got..." The bird then started to scan around, noting each guard and where they were positioned, "Interesting...He's got all sides covered, four guards each to entry and fifty patrolling around and that's just on the outside..."
"How do you fancy your chances...?" Lucien asked.
"I'm getting there, hold on..." The Redguard responded, continuing to scan around.
There was a strange blue haired man with a lot of muscles and white clothes drinking booze while lying on a wall before snapping his red eyes toward the bird.
"Who in oblivion is that...?" Lucien asked, as the camera zoomed in on him, "Never seen him before...looks dangerous though, probably one of theirs..."
"Must be...Doesn't seem like he'd be anyone from our side, let's move around, he's looking at us too much..." The Redguard ordered, as the bird cocked it's head and flew off from it's spot.
The blue haired man grinned as he saw the bird flying away, "That smell... same as Sector Seven... this promises to be very interesting."
Once away, the bird came upon a strange well, perching itself on nearby tree...
"A well on church grounds eh, is that where they get their holy water from?" Inigo chuckled.
"Very funny, but that's not why we stopped here..." Traysek sighed, "Regis, there's this strange well that's near the church, does the water that flows from there flow from the church...?"
"I wish," Regis sighed, "I know the real question that you want to ask: 'Is that well usable to get to the church's underground?' and the answer is no. The only entrance is inside the church."
"Damn...So much for THAT idea..." The Redguard cursed, "Back to the drawing board then...there's got to be a way in..."
"Hold on DB, what if instead of trying to find a way past them, we divert them away instead...?" Recorded threw in, "It's obvious, we're not going to be able to do it the same way we did in my personal mission, but there might be another way..."
"And what's the idea...?" Traysek asked.
"We could either set fires or large smoke stacks, enough to get some of them to investigate and in short could thin security out..." She finished with.
"Hmm...that almost sounds like it could work, but we'd have to do it to buildings close enough, or the guards already on patrol will find it instead..." The Dragonborn thought out, "Or we could target certain businesses here, ones they profit from...there's no way they'd let that go ignored...Are there any businesses they profit from here, Regis?"
"There are... but it won't be possible..." Regis sighed again, "Stannos is way aware of all the snaky tactics in the books thanks to his connection to the master of the Order of Light. If you try to avert their attention, they'll only tighten the security."
"Damn...so we can't even use that as a tactic..." recorder huffed, "How competent is this guy...?"
"Very much so, if he's made this long as an archbishop...But this limits our options, severely..." Lucien sighed, "Looks like we're not going to be able to get past all that security by sneaking around them all...That leaves only one option..."
"Someone's got to bait them all and keep their attention drawn..." Traysek added, "Hmm, the other three members would've done just that, but they've joined the false frontlines, and I can't expand anyone here..."
"In that case, you can use some of my Blood Golems." Regis stated, "Although, it can't be more than 3."
"Blood Golems" huh? Interesting...Very well, and I may even up that number," Traysek said with hint of satisfaction in his voice, "I have my summons I can use, two flesh Atronachs oughta do..."
"I'll have someone who can order the golems around prepare himself to go with you." Regis said before adding, "However... there's something that you must know... there's a familiar knight that's been pocking his nose around my business lately. Could I ask you to deal with him?"
The bird flew from it's spot, heading back into the sky...
"Familiar knight...? Gods... only person comes to mind, and just kicked HIM out of Feoh after locking him out..." Traysek said, not hiding the annoyance, "What's COMMANDER Reynold up to now...?"
"He's been asking my employees if they were threatened, forced to work for me, blackmailed... he even asked a couple of young women if-" Regis stopped as something shattered, "By the Ancient Ones... just thinking that someone assumes that of me makes my blood boil. I treat each one of my kin as my children and grand-children, who does he think he is to make such claims? It's disgusting!"
Traysek deeply sighed, "I can't agree more...The fact that he's resorting to something like that, says more about him than it does you... I wouldn't pay it too much mind, although, once we're done here, we could always swing by and drop him on his head again,"
"With all due respect sir, you already did that...Multiple times...And he's still learned nothing..." Lucien interjected with, "In fact I'm willing to bet, he's gotten worse since losing brain cells..."
"DB...Feed Him...To... Heltia..." Recorder uttered out, agitated.
"Recorder, that's a death sentence and we all know it..." The Redguard sighed deeply, "Trust me, toy knight still has his uses...Like today..."
"I hope you're right..." Inigo's voice muttered, as the bird reached the castle grounds...
"Alright...Let's see what we got going on here..." Traysek hummed, as the bird began to scan the grounds, finding it, surprisingly less guarded than the church, "Interesting...Security seems way lighter here..."
"Almost as if they don't prioritize him that much, getting that feeling too..." Lucien added, "Still, there are still some here, but it doesn't seem like getting in will be as difficult..."
"I doubt that a bull would have troubles getting in." Ekaterina sighed, "And more than 90% of the guards are mercenaries... which is a stupid decision."
"Which is a shame, those guys can be bought off or persuaded to leave with the right argument..." Lucien sighed deeply.
"But that also means, dealing with them will have no consequences either..." Traysek hummed, as the bird picked up a strange staircase going downward to a pair of double doors on the west, unguarded, "Looks like a way in, unguarded too...What's behind those doors, Regis?"
"The dungeons where they keep the slaves and... some types of prisoners..." Regis responded, "But I doubt that he's there at this moment, he's most likely at the royal chambers."
"Either way, it's a good enough start," The Redguard hummed, "Still let's look for other options, there might be better ways in..." the bird continued to fly over castle grounds, finding a couple more interesting spots, One a drainage tunnel with water flowing out of it, large enough for anyone to crawl through and the other, was higher, a smaller tower next to a much larger one, with a trap door on it, "Think we just found them, we're between a large pipe, gonna assume is their waste pipe...hopefully not, and the other is a trap door on the smaller left tower..." zooming in on it, "Where does that lead, Regis?"
"That's a secret entrance." Regis stated, "That's how you'll get inside the castle."
"Then we have it...We've got ways into both places," Traysek said, "Go ahead and call the drone back, Lucien, we've seen all we needed to..."
The feed then whites out, as the bird warped out of the sky...
Back on the ground...
When the bird had returned to Lucien, the others stood up from the walls...
"I think that settles it, we know how we can go about entering those places, but..." Recorder went on with.
Traysek nodded, "Now it comes down to the order. We know for a fact that this Stannos isn't going anywhere; he probably feels safe and secure where he is. Beasley, on the other hand, is now vulnerable. Getting to him will be easiest."
"Hmm, what if we decided to divide and conquer...?" The imperial suggested, "We have more than enough people here, one team can infiltrate and go after the priest and the other, after Feoh's former minister...it spares the risk of one place tightening security if they hear the other's been hit..."
"That's all the question." Ekaterina stated, "Will you cut the forces down, or gamble everything somewhere. As for my part, I already have my mission."
The Redguard nodded, "I'm certain you do..." concluding on the decision, "Then we're splitting up, no other choice...Since I'm helping Regis with the diversion on the church, I'll lead a team into there for Stannos, meanwhile..." turning his head around to Rela, "You Rela, will lead the second team to the castle and capture beasley...I'm giving you the second wheel, good luck,"
"Bringing him alive and able to talk, yes?" Rela asked.
"That's the gist of it, yes," Traysek answered, a small smirk on his face, "And before you ask, No... I don't have a problem with broken bones or bruises, do what you have to do... long as he's not dead,"
Rela nodded with a thumbs up, "I'll bring him alive and able to talk."
The Redguard sighed with a small smile, "Just make sure he's still recognizable...Alright?" turning to the others, "Recorder and Inigo, you two will be helping her with that, they'll need your sniper skills incase the minister makes a break for it..."
"Got it my friend, he will have arrows in his knees if it comes to that," Inigo chuckled.
"Okay then, with any luck, we should be done before Greil gets here..." Traysek grinned, thinking on it after, "Hopefully...Let's get started..."
"Well then, I'll go prepare the golems," Regis stated as he walked away.
"See you soon," The Redguard waved, watching him depart.
Lucien waited until he was away, before smiling, "That Regis seemed like an interesting guy, I wouldn't mind sharing a story or two later,"
"Yeah...Neither would I, strangely..." The Dragonborn concurred, "Maybe when this is over, for now, get ready to take to the skies,"
"Oh! before I forget," The imperial paused, going into his backpack, coming with a familiar hook on a bracer with moving dwemer under it, "Here, I finally finished it..."
Traysek took the hook and recognized it immediately, "This is the hook that came with that outfit, what'd you do to it?" he frowned.
"I turned it into a grappling hook, one able to be worn, I figured since you didn't have one, and you happen to get that hook as apart of the attire, I made it into one... and before you wonder, yes, it's been tested,"
The Redguard put the brace on, feeling it lock on his arm as the hook activated, the double hooks multiplying to four, "By the nine,...I'm impressed Lucien...! I like this, it also looks like it could hurt too if shot at someone,"
"It will hurt someone if shot at...It can do that too, and either have the option to pull your targets close or..." Lucien paused with a smirk.
"Or I can pull myself to them, interesting..." Traysek hummed, inspecting it, until a thought occured, "Wait...But why make this for me...? I already have teleportation spells that can do that if not more..."
"That's true, but this again, you don't know if they can detect magic inside that church or not, and" Lucien smiled, "Since I know your the close-quarters type, that hook there can really help out that, try it out, I think you'll like it,"
"I'm thinking so," The Redguard nodded, "Alright, let's go..."
20 minutes later...
Traysek's team...
Near The Grand church of Ur, entrance
Traysek's team made their way to the church, while the other team, Rela's, set out for the castle. Currently, the first team is on a rooftop near the entrance, unseen by the guards.
"Ok, I think this is as close as we're going to get..." The Redguard said, looking through a telescope, putting it away, "Now we just need to wait on this other guy with the golems..."
"I... I've been with you for the entire time..." a shy voice stated.
They turned around to find the shy knight with the golems, Traysek sighing with a sweat bead.
"I almost forgot you were there," he facepalmed, "You're almost as quiet as a temple skeever..." realizing what he said, "They're giant rats..."
"I'm now compared to rodents..." the vampire knight sobbed as tears began to run down from his eyes, "What did I do to deserve this?"
Traysek's sweatbead, comically grew bigger, "That's not...what I meant, it's a figure of expression...it just means that you were so quiet I forgot you were you already with us, not that you're like one..."
"He looks like he's plunging a lot in despair at this moment." Dargo pointed.
"I can see that...clear as day..." The Redguard sighed, "This is going to be a loooong day...isn't it...?"
"Why don't we first deal with this priest then let him continue his crying." Dargo stated, "We're on time right now."
"Agreed..." Traysek concurred, clearing his throat, "Hey? My man? You know what? no... what's your name?" asking the crying vampire.
"Isaac." the crying vampire replied.
The Redguard gave a small smile, "Okay, Isaac...Listen, maybe we got off on the wrong foot and if so, I apologize...I mean that, but right now, we need your head in this, okay? Not...in that dark depressing place, that does no one good... once the bard starts singing it'll be time to act, we're going to have to move fast, there can be no wasted movement, can we count on you to keep it together when that times comes...?" in a calm tone.
Isaac nodded, "I... I can do it."
Traysek smiled, "Thank you, that's all we ask..." sighing in relief, turning his sight back down to the church entrance, "Once again, the song is our signal to move...Jenelica said she was getting set up in Feoh, all we need to do now is wait for her to start..."
After some moments, a symphony began to be heard by nearly everyone...
In the twilight's glow, our banners unfurled,
We marched forth with courage, to conquer the world.
With steel in our hands and hope in our hearts,
We traveled through shadows, where legends do start.
Oh, sing of the city, fallen to night,
With walls strong as mountains, now shattered in flight.
For glory and honor, our swords sang the tale,
The brave hearts united, shall ever prevail.
The clang of the armor, the war drums did sound,
As we crossed o'er the river, our fates tightly bound.
With whispers of valor on sweet evening air,
We aimed for the heights, our spirits laid bare.
Oh, sing of the city, fallen to night,
With walls strong as mountains, now shattered in flight.
For glory and honor, our swords sang the tale,
The brave hearts united, shall ever prevail.
From towers so tall, their archers did rain,
Yet our hearts were unyielding, no fear of the pain.
With fire and fury, we surged through the gates,
And echoed our triumph, while fate sealed their fates.
Oh, sing of the city, fallen to night,
With walls strong as mountains, now shattered in flight.
For glory and honor, our swords sang the tale,
The brave hearts united, shall ever prevail.
Now the bells toll softly, the victory's song,
For the city surrendered, amidst the throng.
In the hall of our bounty, we'll raise up a cheer,
For the legends of those who faced down their fear.
Oh, sing of the city, fallen to night,
With walls strong as mountains, now shattered in flight.
For glory and honor, our swords sang the tale,
The brave hearts united, shall ever prevail.
Not a long moment after, Traysek's team started to glow from the song's power, giving a nod.
"It's time, go ahead and send them in!" He told the vampire knight, holding two summoning spells in hand.
Isaac nodded, saying something in a different language, causing the the golems to roar before jumping down.
Once the golems had descended and began tearing apart the knights, The Redguard followed it up, by summoning two flesh atronachs at the gate, with them immediately coming out, butchering the guards...One of them, impaling their blade arm through one of their chests and lifting up the poor bastard... before tossing him into a building...
The Dragonborn whistled, "And everyone wonders why I don't use conjuration magic..." shaking his head, before going into his pack and handing his teammates large white potion bottles, "Here, take these...They're...Invisibility potions and a strong variant at that... 60 seconds is all we'll have until it wears..." uncorking his bottle...
"I feel like we need to fast..." Dargo pointed before drinking the potion.
After they all drank the potions, their bodies faded out, unable to be seen...Except for those who drank it...
"Okay, let's go..." Traysek whispered, as the way to the entrace opened up...
But before they could get in, a barrier appeared.
"How rude, to come in and not say a little hello... I'm really disappointed, y'know?" A voice spoke from within the church.
While still cloaked, the infiltration team frowned, looking around...
"Where... the hell... did that come from...?" The Redguard whispered, "Is this that stannos guy?"
"No...His voice doesn't sound like that, although..." Klein paused, "It does sound familiar...Can't remember where I heard that voice...But if it's who I think it is...we're in for some shit..."
A figure rose from the benches, yawning and stretching his arms.
"You sure took your time." the figure said before grinning, "I wonder, why all this sneaking around."
Dargo gulped loudly, his hands trembling.
The entire infiltration team went dead silent...A frustrated sigh being heard...
"You can see us...Can't you...?" Traysek asked, narrowing his eyes.
"It's more like sensing my preys." the figure chuckled, "I do have some expectations, I do hope that you'd live up to them."
There was another sigh...
"Well then, I suppose we don't need this anymore..." The Redguard said, snapping his fingers, undoing the invisibility, revealing them, "Hello there~ That's quite the sensory ability...I'm almost impressed," smirking under his mask, 'Still though, what enormous aura... It's almost up there with The Ebony warrior's...and...' cutting his eye at Dargo whose hands were trembling, "You know this guy Dargo...?"
"This presence... too dangerous..." Dargo began to sweat bullets.
Traysek stared at him for a moment, 'I've never seen him this scared...I'll have to be careful with this guy, something tells me, there's more than meets the eye...Still though...The pressure of his power...' A smile appeared on his face, 'It should scare me, and yet... It excites me...!"
"Dargo...when this barrier goes down, It'll be up to you guys to find that priest," The Redguard stated, eyes shadowed.
"What do you mean by that..." Dargo asked.
"This guy is here to buy time, as we sit here... The General is getting closer and closer with the main army..." Traysek explained, "If we expand all our time here, this would've all been for nothing," turning to him with a smile, "I'm telling you to go and leave this guy to me...I'll catch up soon,"
"If you're done with your small talk, then let's begin, shall we?" the man said, smiling and walking toward the group.
The Masked Dragonborn's eyes turned slit as he drew his nightingale blade, before using his left hand to temporarily blast a hole into the barrier with an Incinerating crimson thunderbolt, "Go!" he shouted this time, with gritted teeth.
Klein hurriedly nodded, "Yeah, come on, let's go, I know the way down..." being the first through it.
The man grinned as the others jumped in, "Trying to save them? Adorable."
Traysek bitterly chuckled, as the barrier closed back up, them going inside the church, "Nah...Just didn't want to waste the time, We do have friends on the way and that mind controller needs to be out before then...And...From what I feel from you...I knew they wouldn't hold a candle there..." activating the ring on his sword hand, summoning the floating spear, "Before we begin, what's your name...?"
"You can call me, the Mad Dog." the man answered, "And try not to confound it with those meatless bones who call themselves Black Dogs, I find it insulting."
"Huh, "meatless bone" that's a new one," Traysek chuckled, "Well then, you can call me: The Nightingale, Now then..." taking a relaxed stance, "Shall we? Mad dog...?"
"'Nightingale'? You don't look like a bird. Well, it doesn't matter to me." the Mad Dog cracked his neck before adding, "Let's see if I can feast on you." he then took one step until he disappeared before reappearing behind Traysek and went for a backhand punch.
Battle theme: Smell of the game - Guilty gear Xrd ost
The Redguard felt the blow coming and ducked, retaliating with a forceful back kick...
The Mad Dog didn't bulge as he winded up a punch.
Traysek's eyes widened as he vanished from the incoming blow...
"I see... so you're the running away type, huh?" the Mad Dog took a deep breath, "Don't tell me that you got scared." turning his head.
"Mulaag, Klo Fus!" He heard from above, as Traysek dove at him with a punch wound up, coming at him with the force of a thousand suns... his fist covered in dragon magic.
"Hoh, it would seem like you're forcing me to take it a bit more seriously than I thought I should." the Mad Dog grinned as a red aura formed around his hands, going for a punch of his own.
When the blows connected, they gave off such a powerful shockwave that the stained windows of the entire church, along with a few buildings nearby, shattered from sheer force.
The Redguard raised an eyebrow, realizing the man had not only survived the blow but had matched it as well, "Not...Bad!" backflipping when he kicked himself away from man, firing off a deadly volley of crystals from his spear.
The Mad Dog chuckled as a red fiery aura enveloped his body, causing the shards to get absorbed, "You call that an attack, what a joke. You'd better step up your game, y'know."
When the Traysek landed, he hummed, 'Normal physical attacks aren't working on this guy... And these are blows that would have any other man down in less than a minute...What is he...?'
'Stop holding back...!'A dark voice growled in his head, 'Stop treating him like the other mortals here... hit him like a dragonborn should or we're going to die...!'
He frowned at that... and chose to ignore it, knowing who it was, retaking his stance, "Wuld, NA KEST!" ramming into his opponent with blinding speed, thrusting the spear into his chest...
'You wanna ignore me...? That's fine, you won't for long...'
The Mad Dog grinned as he intercepted the spear with a punch that cracked the spear, "Now that's more like it!" he roared with excitement, "Come now, Nightingale, show me more!"
Then the Redguard's right eye flashed, as slashed out with his nightingale blade with a rapid slice, leaving a grazing wound on his chest before, "Fus, RO DAH!" he shouted, sending him flying into a building with a thunderous boom.
He huffed, shaking his head, "What...the fuck...?" he panted out.
'You're never going to win, playing by their rules, you know...? he's not done, and if you keep going as you are, YOU will be...' the voice echoed in his head again.
'I'll do this my fucking self, I. do not. need you!' he mentally shouted back, observing his spear, finding a crack, 'Damn...but he did cause this weapon to crack, I'll have to send it back, hopefully, the dimension there mends it...or it's back to Kyoka...' watching the rubble shift.
Mad laughter was heard as the Mad Dog emerged from the rubles, no wound on his chest, and grinning madly, "Now that's a meal! Hahahahahaha! You pushed me! Something I thought would be impossible! Now, let's get this to the next level!" the tattoos on his chest began to glow red, "Enchanted Dragonov Level 2, Unleash!" a crushing wave of power was felt from him.
Traysek felt that, and furrowed his brow, 'By the nine, his power just increased...' his scouter going off the rails, 'Even the scouter's going nuts...how's a normal guy, this strong?'
'So...you wanna stop playing around and take your red form now?'
'Not yet, let's see how far this goes...besides, that's a detriment to us after it wears, I'd rather save it when I need it...and I don't know if I need it yet,' Traysek mentally replied, 'But, that doesn't mean I won't use stronger stuff...' crimson lightning arcing on his body, returning the spear to his dimension, "I see you're still up, good...I was hoping this battle would've posed a proper challenge..." smiling, "Give it your best shot, mad dog..."
"I must thank you," the Mad Dog growled with a grin, "You're the first one in this world that forced me to remove a layer of my limiter. You have my thanks, Nightingale."
The Redguard was silent for a second, before humming with a nod, "Guess I can return the Courtesy, thank you for not being boring...Mad Dog," frowning after, "But did you just say Limiter...? with a raised eyebrow.
"The Dargonuv reduces all of my powers to below an eighth of what they are, otherwise, everything around me would instantly die, which would be no fun for me." the Mad Dog explained.
Traysek blinked twice, getting it "I see... interesting...You keep your power held back to draw fights, eh... You're someone who lusts for battle...Now that's a beat, I can dance to..." with a nodding slowly, 'If he's taken a layer off his limiter, things might get serious, and that tells me, he's been holding back...Guess it would be a bad time to tell him, I've only used 10% of mine...but from the looks of things...I might have to use more...' taking an aggressive stance this time...
"Now, let's get this to be an ultimate feast!" the Mad Dog moved to appear right in front of Traysek with an even greater speed, before going for an upward split kick.
With barely any time to react, The Redguard barely blocked the blow, getting knocked into the air while gritting his teeth, 'Fuck...! I felt that one through the blade...!' Not good...!' retaliating with a crimson thunderbolt, "Haah!"
The same red fiery aura enveloped his body again, absorbing the thunderbolt, "Thank you for the gift. Here, have it back!" he flung his arm outward and fired a high-speed projectile.
Upon seeing the attack, Traysek quickly cast a greater ward spell for the incoming projectile to deflect it... However, not only did that smash through it like rock through a window, but then it exploded, sending him spinning and smoking to the ground, landing with a hard thud.
Theme ends...
"Now, let's-" the Mad dog was about to rush until he widened his eyes, "Seriously, you're asking me to come NOW?" he spoke to the air, annoyed, "I'm in the middle of EATING! So, I'd like a bit of RESPECT!" he then looked confused, "Is that so... and there's nothing that can be done? No, in the long run it would be better." he sighed before looking at the downed Dragonborn, "Seems like our fun needs to stop for now, but that doesn't mean that it's the end." he grinned at him before disappearing using the same statics as the Doctor.
He rose himself up, his healing factor kicking in, "Yeah...sure, I look forward to that...ow..." he groaned struggling to stand up, shaking the stars out, 'Gods, that hurt like hell...Ugh...' leaning on the church wall, huffing, waiting for the pain to subside, until it did, stand back up, 'Okay...I feel a bit better, holy shit... I'll need to be ready for that guy... next time around...' looking back at the church wall, it dawning, "Shit...! I need to get in there...!" blasting another hole in the barrier, before going through it, opening the doors...quietly... 'hope the others made it in just fine...' closing the doors behind himself once in them.
To be continued...
And so ends part 2 of this insane trilogy, with the appearance of Mad dog (Azrael) able to hit the Dragonborn just as hard as hard as he can give it...But will he be a reoccurring Villain...? And if so...What does that mean for the Nightingales and the Rest of the monster forces...? Only time can tell there, but part 3 will be the conclusion to this battle, And if you were a fan of this part, you'd really love the next... Stay tuned and stay safe everyone :)
