Hello!
This chapter is, well, long. Very long. My longest ever. So long that it's longer than one shots I wrote in high school.
My beta unfortunately did not have the time these past two weeks to read through this, so if you guys notice any mistakes please let me know!
Enjoy, everyone! I hope the two week update schedule is working for everyone. I've lost a few more consistent reviewers, which I'm sure is what happens when you have to walk away from your update schedule for a month. Let me know what you all think in the reviews!
WARNING: While I don't want to ruin any plot lines in the A/N, I also want to give everyone a warning there are sensitive discussions had that might trigger some people. There is some discussion of physical abuse in this chapter, although no depictions.
CHAPTER 8 – Discoveries of All Kinds
September 3rd, 1988
Dear Lily,
I understand your hesitancy to use a dreamless sleep potion consistently on someone so young. Enclosed with this owl is a package of a potion of my own creation that I tinkered with a few years back. It has fewer Valerian sprigs compared to a dreamless sleep, at only two. Additionally, I used four sprigs of lavender and one dried flower of St. John's Wort. Although not usually used as a potions ingredient, Muggles use it for its anti-depressive qualities. I've tested it on myself and I've found that it allows happy dreams and prevents bad ones. When correctly brewed, it should have more pink of a tone than the purple of the dreamless sleep potion. You can give him this potion without concern of stopping his dreams. I have enclosed the ingredients and instructions for your use to brew as you need it. I do not plan on submitting it to the society for review, so I would appreciate it if you do not share this one. I have yet to name it, but I am considering the "Pleasant Dream" potion. Use the bottle enclosed for comparison of your first brew's color. You are still a quite capable potioneer, I assume, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. I am confident in your capabilities.
I am always here for anything you might need. I hope that our next session for Draco and Harry can be sometime soon. Draco is in need of time with other children.

It had been a long week for Lily, but as she got in her small car to pick up Harry from the Weasleys, she couldn't help but notice the air was beginning to smell like fall. While the leaves hadn't fallen yet, there was a crispness to the air that Lily knew meant fall was coming. Three of the Weasleys had been sent to Hogwarts, one of them Head boy and in his last year there. In three years' time, her own son would be in his first classes at Hogwarts. Today, though, he was at the Weasley's house, waiting to be picked up. They had all been antsy this week. Peter Pettigrew's case would officially go "cold" in two months' time, and the paperwork was officially out of Sirius' hands. She had encouraged him to go somewhere warm with Remus for the weekend, and for herself and Harry had planned a visit to her sister's. Her mind wandered as she drove down the winding road that led to the Burrow. As she came to the house, she saw Harry and Ginny playing on the small porch as they always did when she picked up Harry. Since it was Thursday, and Harry didn't go to the Weasley's on Fridays, she usually stopped in and talked to Molly for a few moments before they left. She parked and started walking up to the porch, listening to her son's laughter mixed in with that of his friends'.
"Mummy!" Harry yelled as he ran up to his mother for a hug.
"Harry, dear. Were you nice to Mrs. Weasley today?"
Harry nodded into his mother's belly. "Always, mum!" He let go of her and ran back to the porch where his friends were. "Ron and the twins got grounded because the twins tried to blow Ron up and Ron threw eggs from the coup at them! Mummy, we have a question! Can Ginny come to Dudley's tomorrow? It would be so fun!"
"Please, Mrs. Potter?" Ginny asked with wide brown eyes. "I've never been in a real Muggle house. And Harry says he always has fun with Dudley!" Ginny ended excitedly.
Lily chuckled, as the two children surrounded her when she stepped up onto the porch. "I'll have to ask your mum, Ginny. And I have to call Petunia. She isn't a big fan of magic so you will all have to be careful around them."
"I'll be good, Mrs. Potter. I'm seven now, remember?"
Lily laughed. "I suppose you are, Ginny." With a smile, Lily turned into the house. Molly was more than happy to have Ginny experience a house with only Muggle gadgets. She had been to Harry's house, of course, but the idea of everything having electricity – more than just the TV and the lights – was magnificent. With Molly in agreement, Lily and Harry went back to their own house.
After dinner, she left the clean-up duty to Remus, Harry and Sirius tonight and went to call her sister. "Are you excited for your trip tomorrow, Harry?" Lily heard Remus ask in the background as the phone rang.
Instead of the light tone of her sister's voice, a gruff man answered instead. "Hello, Dursley residence."
Lily immediately hung up without a word. Vernon had never picked up the phone before.
Well, I'm sure it will be alright. Tuney probably won't mind. Hopefully this won't be a bad omen for tomorrow.
September 9th, 1988
The drive to Surrey wasn't much different this time than it had been on previous trips, except this time there was much more conversation than she was used to. Although it was early, little Ginny was more than excited to be in the back seat of a car. While her father owned an older car, it was magicked to be larger than designed. This car was not tampered with. Ginny had had Harry show her how to roll down the windows for the first 15 minutes of the ride, drinking in every little piece of information. By the time they got to Petunia's home, Harry and Ginny were a little tuckered out from the ride and they had both fallen asleep. She parked in the driveway and went around to open the back seat.
"Kids, it's time to wake up. We're here."
Ginny woke up slowly but the understanding of what his mother said made Harry shoot up like a rocket. "We're here? Where's Dudley?"
Lily smiled. "In the house, darling. Why don't we knock?" Harry beamed at her. He unbuckled his seat belt and jumped out of the car. Lily helped Ginny with hers while Harry raced up to the front door.
The front door opened, and Petunia beamed down at Harry. "There's my favorite nephew!"
Harry enveloped Petunia in a hug, and Lily noticed Petunia flinch just a little. "Harry! You're here!" Lily heard. She took Ginny's hand, and they walked up to her reuniting family.
"Petunia! I'm so sorry – I called last night to warn you, but one of Harry's best friends wanted to join us on our trip out to see you. She's quite excited to meet Dudley!" She wrapped her sister into a gentle hug and felt Petunia holding her lightly. Petunia was purposely holding her at arm's length. "Petunia, this is Ginny. Ginny, this is Mrs. Dursley, my sister."
Petunia looked over at her sister and smiled, although it didn't quite meet her eyes. "Welcome, Ginny. It is so nice to have you." Ginny beamed back at her.
Ginny's cheeks flushed red. "Thank you for having me, Mrs. Dursley." Lily had never seen a bashful Weasley before, but she supposed now was as good of time as any.
"You're Harry's friend – you can call me Aunt Petunia, dear." Ginny beamed. "This here is Dudley."
Dudley came out from behind his mum where he had been already chatting with Harry – catching up after not seeing each other in six months was quite a task for the eight-year olds. "Harry says your name is Ginny and I'm supposed to be nice to you. So, it's nice to meet you." Dudley put his hand out for her to shake. Petunia and Lily's raucous laughter filled the front of the house. "What, I'm just being honest."
Ginny smiled, taking the boy's hand as Harry had told her Muggles do. "Well, I'm glad Harry warned you at least."
"Warned me, what for?"
"Well, I've been known for my accidental hexes from time to time." She gleamed, and Dudley shivered.
"Now Ginny, what did we talk about on the way here."
"I know, Mrs. Potter, try to keep my magic minimal for the weekend because we don't want to upset Dudley or Aunt Petunia."
"Good, now why don't you all run upstairs to play."
"Harry! Can you and Dudley show me the train that runs on its own that you always are talking about?"
The three small children ran up the stairs and into Dudley's playroom. Once she heard the door shut, Lily's focus turned to her sister. "Spill. Now."
Petunia spun in place, staring at her sister with eyes that echoed the fear she had been experiencing. Lily saw pure terror in her eyes – terror that only came from one experience. An experience that tore out Lily's heart on the spot.
"What do you mean?" Petunia said, breathily. "Why don't we sit on the sofa and talk like we usually do…"
Lily grabbed her sisters' hand gently and led her towards the sofa. "If talking here makes you more comfortable then so be it. Now talk."
Petunia sighed. She gently lifted her blouse, and Lily saw the bruising up and down her right side and middle. Some of it was a harsh purple, other areas had calmed down into a pale green. She was seeing red again – in a way she hadn't since she found out Sirius had been taken to Azkaban. "Was it Vermin?"
Petunia shoved her shirt down, but Lily reached out to keep it up. "It's Vernon, Lils."
"Not anymore it isn't. I should have kept the name Marlene gave him all those years ago at your wedding."
Petunia grimaced. "Whatever happened to her, Lily?"
Lily heard a cry, and realized it came from her. "That's not the point right now." Lily still had her hand holding up Petunia's shirt. She reached into her back pocket for her wand.
"No, don't."
"And why the bloody hell not."
The fear in Petunia's eyes stung Lily's soul. She whispered quietly to her, "Because then he'll know you were here if I was magically healed. He'll know you know. And it will be so much worse."
Lily swore under her breath, dropped Petunia's shirt and backed off. They sat there, quiet, for a long time. "When did this start?"
Petunia's eyes grew dark, and Lily recognized it as the same fear in her eyes she had seen earlier. It was a deep fear – the kind of fear that could hold someone in its clutches. "A couple of years after Dudley was born. I think he was angry I wasn't letting him raise Dudley exactly as he wanted to. In all honesty, we had agreed to a parenting style early on that I later recognized wasn't healthy for Dudley. It was the first time that I really said no and meant it. That I disagreed on punishing Dudley for something when he had misbehaved."
"That is horrible, Tuney."
"I know. Lil, I'm just not quite sure what to do anymore. He didn't used to be so bold about it. The first few times it happened, I excused it as stress at work or stress with Dudley's behavior but over time I feel I've turned into Vernon's punching bag. I don't want Dudley growing up like this!" Petunia took an exasperated tone. She started to cry, and Lily swept her up into her arms. Lily held her there gently, patting her older sister's back as she cried into her shoulder. The tears fell heavily, and Lily scrambled to think of how she could be kind yet honest. Firm, yet understanding.
"Tuney, look. I know you love him but there is a time and a place to holding onto a love that has clearly left you. If he truly still loved you the way he did back then, he never would have laid a hand on you. If you want my honest opinion, I think you've come to the time when you just need to pull the trigger and leave. Everyone needs to have a line that cannot be crossed, and I think Vermin has crossed it. I know you don't want to, but sometimes you need to choose your priorities. Harry is my universe, and I know that Dudley is yours. You are not a rag doll to be used when Vermin feels like he can play with whatever way he wishes to. I understand he is your husband and that you have a longstanding connection with him, but I have to ask you where is your line? We have more than enough room in our house for you – we have two extra rooms. Remus uses one of them occasionally, but I'm sure we can figure out a way to add an extra room or tell him to use the couch…"
Petunia interrupted her with a sigh. "Thanks, Lils. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support. At the same time though, I think I'm going to give him another chance. Just one more this time, I promise." Lily closed her eyes and counted to five. She knew she had to drop it, or Petunia wouldn't keep coming to her with her honest experiences.
"I understand. Just never forget the offer I've put on the table, Petunia. Once he finally crosses your line, I want to keep you safe. Please remember it."
"I will." Petunia let go of her sister and leaned back on the sofa.
Lily stood up, tugging her sister with her. "Want to listen to the wizarding radio station with me again while we make a late breakfast? I know you liked Witching Hour the last time I was here after dinner when you finally gave it a chance, but I think the WWN has some interesting programs in the mornings as well…"
As the two sisters quietly made breakfast together, they each had their own time to process the conversation that had just been held. What they didn't know, was just the impact that doing something as small as quietly listening to the Weird Sisters could do for a pair of sisters like themselves.
Ginny, Harry, and Dudley were in Dudley's only room playing a game of Monopoly. Since it was a Muggle game, Ginny had never played before and Harry and Dudley were letting her win, big time. They smiled at each other as Ginny broke into a peal of laughter when she bought the Reading Railroad, completing her monopoly of the railroads.
"How am I supposed to play the game when you're so good at it!" Harry said, a playful look in his eye that Ginny failed to notice.
"I don't know, Harry. You'll just have to get better. You're getting beat by your best mate. How does it feel?" she asked him slyly, just happy to be winning.
"Ugh, it's terrible. I've never felt worse in my life!" Harry said. At this, Ginny looked slightly conflicted and sad. Suddenly, Dudley's laughter broke their moment.
His whale-like laugh was louder than any Ginny had ever heard before and the wizard and witch couldn't help but join in to Dudley's contagious laugh. Dudley was laughing so hard that not only could he not breathe but there were a few stray tears that fell from his eyes.
"Harry! Guess what I just figured out!" Dudley said, between his laughter.
"What, Dudders?" Harry said, the Monopoly board completely forgotten in the minds of the children.
"YOU HAVE COOTIES!" Dudley yelled. Ginny looked confused while Harry's face burst into a shade of red that rivaled Ginny's hair color.
"I DO NOT! I just have a friend who's a girl!" Harry fought back.
"You mean a girlfriend?" Dudley smirked. He was hoping that his cousin wouldn't know what the term was.
"Yes, I guess you could call her that. I didn't know they had a term for girls who were your friends!" Harry said.
"HA! You just called her your girlfriend! That means you have to get married. Sucks for you since marriage is the worst. He says it's because you're tied to a 'stupid woman' your whole life." By this time, Ginny was sitting with her fake Monopoly money, eyes open and her jaw almost touching the floor.
"Well, for starters, Ginny isn't stupid. She's really smart." Harry gave Ginny a smile. Noticing this, she hastily collected her jaw from the floor, blushed, and returned his smile. "And plus, Molly, Ginny's mum, isn't stupid and she's married to Arthur which means it can't be that bad. Actually, I think Arthur likes your mum quite a lot, doesn't he, Gin?" Harry looked at Ginny expectantly.
"Um, yes. He really loves her, in fact."
"What? I didn't know that married people could love each other. I just thought that was between a parent and their kid or other kids." Dudley said, his teasing tone gone and his shock evident in his voice.
"Well, of course people have to love each other. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many married couples in the world!" Ginny exclaimed. "You have a really weird view of marriage anyway. Harry, we should show him what it's like to be married! Marriage can be fun! Why don't we play house for the rest of the day? You can be my husband, I'll be your wife, and Dudley can be our baby!" Ginny said, exuberantly.
"That sounds fun!" Harry said. He wanted his cousin to learn how to have real fun. Lately, he noticed that Dudley seemed to be getting sadder and sadder every time he visited. Their time together was more often like when they were really little instead of their friendship they had grown.
"Wait! Before you have a kid, you have to get married first, right? My mum has brought me to a few weddings. She always forgets people's names, so she brings me along because when I introduce myself, they introduce themselves to me and she learns their name again. I'll be the priest! I don't really remember much of what the bloke's supposed to say, but what I do know is that Harry, Ginny, you have to stand facing each other." Ginny and Harry followed Dudley's instructions and waited for him to continue. Instead, he took his position where the priest was supposed to go. "Okay, well, um, then the guy says a bunch of things. Then you're supposed to each say 'I do'".
The two children exchanged their own version of vows through their fits of giggles. Dudley was beginning to get flustered, trying to remember what was supposed to happen next. "OH! And then you're supposed to kiss the bride, Harry! Kiss her!" Harry and Ginny blushed and he gave her a peck on the cheek. "No, no, no, not like that! You're supposed to kiss her on the lips!" Dudley grinned, trying to hold in his laughter at his cousin's face. Harry was suddenly so red that he was almost purple. Just like my Dad. Dudley shook himself out of his memory just in time to see Harry lean over and kiss Ginny on the lips.
Unable to miss this amazing opportunity, Dudley began to sing out loudly, "HARRY AND GINNY SITTIN' IN A TREE! K-I-S-S…" in the middle of his taunt, Dudley's voice suddenly disappeared as his mouth continued to move. When he realized there was no sound, he stared at the two magical children whose eyes were full of laughter. Suddenly, Ginny couldn't help herself any more, and giggles escaped her control. Harry and Dudley soon followed. It was quite the odd sight; three laughing children, but noise was only coming from two.
"Welcome to paradise!" Sirius yelled, tossing his suitcase on the bed.
Remus laughed. "I thought you weren't looking forward to coming here."
Sirius threw himself onto the bed next to his suitcase, his long curly hair settling around his face. "I wasn't, and I'm still not happy that Lily made us take this vacation to make me stop obsessing over Peter. But I appreciate her gesture, and we're here so we might as well make the most of it."
Remus opened up the windows of the bedroom Sirius had claimed to listen to the sound of the ocean waves. "I can't believe this place was in your family this entire time and this is the first I've heard of it. It's so bright and warm."
Sirius sat up. "Well, the Blacks were known to take every money-making opportunity they could. The Bahamas were a great investment when the American War of Independence was over, and the slave trade got more popular here. They may have hate Muggles, but they saw an opportunity when it came the bloody bastards. It's not exactly something I'm proud of, but with the photographers being as crazy as they are a vacation in a public place wasn't something I thought we'd enjoy."
Remus winced. "No kidding. You said you have a house-elf that can help get the rest of the place opened?"
Sirius sighed. "Yes. Kreacher?"
The men heard a "pop" sound. "Yes, traitorous Master?"
"Quit that. Help us get this house dusted for the next hour and I'll let you keep something with the Black crest."
Kreacher's eyes widened. Sirius had used Kreacher on a couple of investigations when he and Kingsley needed someone small to get into different spaces and he had quickly found the best way to get Kreacher to do things. It still hadn't really warmed Kreacher up to Sirius, but he always did his job if there was a Black heirloom in the mix. He hopefully hoped someday he would take a piece of clothing, but he didn't want to kill the poor thing.
"Yes, Master." With another "pop" the house elf was gone, Sirius assumed to start on the lower floors. The house he had inherited in the Bahamas was by far his favorite. It was hidden from view, just like the house in London, so it had an incredible amount of privacy. It was the only house in the Black portfolio that was white and felt open and airy. The first floor had a decent sized kitchen, dining room, living room, parlor and library (as every Black house had to have). The second floor had three simple bedrooms and two bathrooms. It really was a surprisingly nice vacation house for his family.
Sirius and Remus quickly took care of opening up the top of the house. When they were done, they found Kreacher finishing up polishing the silver in the kitchen – the rest of the first floor was ready to be used again. Remus immediately went to the library, while Sirius went to the kitchen. "Kreacher, thank you for your help." He reached into the cupboard and grabbed a stein with the Black crest. "Why don't you take this with you back to London, it's yours now. Don't forget to do your best keeping up the old home. I don't know when we might need it again." Kreacher nodded and with another "pop", he had left.
Sirius sighed and looked out at the ocean view he could see from the window. It was oddly quiet, and the idea of having nothing to do for two days was almost uncomfortable to him. He knew Remus would appreciate the time to himself for a few hours, but he was used to more chaos. When he wasn't at work, he was home playing with his little rascal of a Godson or his redheaded friends. The thought of the Weasleys made him smile. The boys were a racket, and they always made him laugh. Ginny made him smile the most, though. That girl had more spunk in her than all of the boys combined, and it seemed that only Harry and Ron knew it. He couldn't wait to see what she made of herself.
"Sirius?" He heard Remus shout from the other room, knocking Sirius out of his reverie.
"Hm?"
"Can you come here for a moment?"
Sirius sighed and made his way toward the small library that Remus was currently inhabiting. He was running his finger down the spine of a very old book on the wall. "Yes, Moony?"
"Sirius, have you ever taken a look at the books in here?"
"Speaking that I haven't been here since I was small child and a lot of the books are filled with dark magic, I can't say I have."
Remus pulled the book he had been eyeing off the wall and looked Sirius in the eyes. "So you've never read the book called Surviving Death, Volume 1?"
Sirius could feel his eyes bulge. "Looks like we need to get reading, did you see anything else we should be paying attention to?"
Remus began to show him other books about death in the library, and the two men found a new purpose to their two days off in the Bahamas.
September 11th, 1988
All five of those in the house were surprised when the time finally came for Lily, Harry and Ginny to leave. Lily and Petunia had spent both of the late nights they had together with wine and a few John Hughes movies, while Dudley, Harry and Ginny had laughed and giggled through the entire weekend. They were finally saying goodbye to each other on the door step of Number 4 Private Drive.
"So Dudley," Harry said, "did you have a fun weekend?"
"You know," he replied, "I really think you did. Marriage could be fun, as long as it's with the right person. I guess I'll never really be able to see it since my dad is just a big meanie anyway. In all honesty, I'm not really sure why my mum and dad are still married. But whatever makes them happy. Thanks for playing with my train set, Ginny! It was so fun playing with you!"
Ginny gave Dudley a hug, trying to get her arms to fit around his round body. "Well, Dudley, I really hope your dad learns to be nicer. It was so fun playing with you!" Ginny said and gave Dudley a peck on the cheek.
"I thought you were my wife, Ginny!" Harry said dramatically, making the other two laugh.
"Well, I guess we're married beyond the game too." Ginny said, chuckling.
"Why, of course!" Harry said as cheekily as he could before taking her hand and giving it a slobbery, wet kiss.
"Ew! Harry that's so gross! Stop acting so much like Sirius!" Ginny squealed, grabbing the attention of the two adults.
"Do I want to know?" Lily said as she smiled at Ginny.
Ginny giggled. "I don't think so, Mrs. Potter."
"Bye, Aunt Petunia! I hope I'll see you soon!" Harry said as he ran up to his Aunt and gave her a big hug.
"Goodbye, Harry. I hope so too." She said. She looked over to the girl who had begun to remind her of Lily as the weekend had gone on. "And goodbye to you too, Ginny." She said, smiling.
"Goodbye, Mrs. Dursley! Thanks so much for having me." Ginny smiled. Lily rushed the rest of the goodbyes along and got into her car and drove away.
As Harry and Ginny ran to the car, Lily turned around and looked pointedly at her sister. "Remember, my offer always stands for you. I love you."
Petunia smiled at her. Lily couldn't help but notice it was the first time it truly met her eyes. "I will. I love you too,"
Wow, Dudley thought, I really hope I can find friends like Harry has.
"Let me get this straight." Lily needed a moment. She had just spent the better part of her day driving home from Little Whining and had finally gotten Harry to bed after he excitedly told his Uncles all about his time with Dudley and Ginny. She was, for lack of a better term, exhausted. "I send you to your old family house in the Bahamas to finally get a break from everything Voldemort and Peter, and you come home with the biggest lead on how he survived we've had in years."
Sirius smiled sheepishly. "Exactly."
Remus brought the three books they had taken from the library out of his duffle bag and onto the desk in Lily's small study. The titles read Surviving Death, Volume 1, Surviving Death, Volume 3, and Death and the Peverell's. Sirius sat down in a chair next to them, and let Remus take it from there. "I was able to read most of Surviving Death, Volume 1 and Surviving Death, Volume 3. Volume 1 mostly covers ways to hide well, and volume 3 mostly covers ways to resurrect the dead if you've failed but there's a missing volume. We think that whatever is in the missing volume 2 is the key to how he survived. Volume 3 repeatedly refers to something called a Horcrux which you need to resurrect someone, but the details of everything about it including how to make them, what they do, and how to destroy them –"
Lily threw her hand up at Remus. "Slow down. I think I need a moment." Her stomach swirled inside of her. She sat down next to Sirius, put her hands in her head, and took a shaky deep breath. "So your theory is that Voldemort made a Horcrux so that if he died he'd be able to use methods from this third book to bring himself back to life."
"It's more than that," Remus continued, "based on what's in volume 3 he needs someone to perform ceremonies. There are a number of ceremony options you can pick from, some require the willing blood of someone who loved the deceased, others require unwilling blood of an enemy. There are a couple variations, but every potion or ruin ceremony that needs to be used requires insane sacrifices of some kind. Sacrifices that only –"
Sirius chipped in. "Sacrifices that only insanely fucked up followers of his would be willing to follow. Followers like Bellatrix or…"
"Or Peter."
Sirius and Remus nodded.
"Well it sounds like we need to find volume 2." Lily said, quietly. "Now what is this third book, Death and the Peverell's?"
"We can wait a while, if you want. Digest this first two books –", Remus started.
"No, no we need to do this now. I've been researching for far too long to wait any longer."
Remus shuffled his feet and looked at Sirius. "I think Sirius should take this one."
Sirius stood and grabbed the final book from the desk and brought it to where Lily was sitting. "This one wasn't as interesting to us until something fell out of the back of it when I went to close it. It is a book from the 1500's theorizing that the three brothers from the Deathly Hallows tale are the Peverells and conjecturing where the three Hallows are, assuming they're real if the three brothers were real. But what was interesting, was that this fell out."
He handed a wrinkled paper to a horrified Lily. The fear in her green eyes was evident, but she silently took the parchment from him. It was clearly written hastily, the words barely legible.
He's obsessed with the Hallows – wants to be the Master of Death –
Elder Wand – If he won it from Grindlewald after the first war, Dumbledore
Ressurection Stone – The book conjectures an illegitimate child, unknown surname
Invisibility Cloak – The third brother's line shows it became the Potter line, likely safe with them
Lily choked. "James' cloak."
Sirius nodded, and Remus leaned down next to her and began to speak. "I know this is a lot of information –"
Lily interrupted him. "James' cloak – Dumbledore has it. We need to prevent him from becoming the Master of Death, and we need to find Volume 3. And which Black was trying to take down Voldemort?" She took a shaky breath. "We need help. We need to figure this out." Lily jumped up and ran to her desk.
"Lily, what are you doing?"
"We need Dumbledore."
ooooooooo
The plot, it's finally thickening in a couple of ways!
This is where the plot begins to diverge from the old version. Let me know what you all think of where things are going - I'd love to know!
Until next time,
