Two weeks later

I frown tossing things into boxes to move, Mathilda huffs pulling the stuff out and repacks it neatly "Maus stop throwing stuff in".

"How sure are you it's a good fit, are we gonna have to deal with another group?" I snark crossing my arms.

She huffs crossing her arms looking at me "Maus I looked at it, before agreeing to let my parents pay for anything. We are miles away from any other groups so far that there's no trace of them there and the next house is 5 miles away".

"Are you sure? Lee is a baby we don't need him exposed to problems with other groups or humans" I ask.

She sighs grabbing my hand "I would never knowingly put our family in danger. I truly believe it's a good fit, plus mom insisted on us having a place to work on music".

I nod seeing she's being completely honest like always "You're not expecting us to start having kids right?"

"NEIN, meine Maus, but if it happens then I would be happy" she says softly while placing her hand on my stomach "Our baby would be perfect and wanted, even this soon into being together".

New home

I frown looking at the new home it's beautiful but it's the property that has me unnerved "Babe what's with the property?" I ask looking to the woods feeling more unnerved.

Nix seems to notice where I'm looking and frowns "Wolf you're insane" she says tensing up.

I shiver moving to block Emily and Lee after seeing movement in the woods, a creature that looks like a mix of many and hairless comes out on four legs, each step it takes we hear a cracking sounds as it rushes to the side darting away from us.

"What is that?" I hiss to Nix.

"I have no clue but let's get inside" she says looking worried.

I nod getting everyone inside and lock the door then sigh sitting down.

"Looked like a cryptid creature" Iris says from the window where she looks out frowning.

"Anything else?" I snark.

"Yeah it's not common, it could be something new or something forgotten over time" she says answers.

I look to Nix who sighs "I'll start looking for books that have creatures listed I guess".

I nod looking out the window with Iris "Thoughts on it?" I ask haven figured out she can since what a creature wants or is if she focuses on it.

"Not sure I couldn't get a feel of what it is, it didn't feel like a threat it seemed more scared of us than anything but it could be a threat to us if it feels threatened," she says looking out the window frowning.

"So what do you think we should do?" I ask feeling Mathilda come up to me putting her arm around my waist.

"I think we shouldn't go out alone always have someone with you, be on guard but not threatening maybe if we show we won't attack it, we can figure out what it is," she says looking at me and Mathilda.

We both nod seeing her frown at the same spot we seen it run to "It sounded hurt if I'm honest, like bones grinding together".

Stacie comes up pulling us to sit "Okay enough, now we have two very mature ladies here, who have lived through many life times and traveled all over the world I want some answers to questions" she says loudly.

I huff a small laugh sitting down as Stacie looks between Nix and Iris "What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen?"

"I don't understand the question" Nix says sounding confused.

"Seeing my first prehistoric shark shifter" Iris says rolling her eyes.

"What one?" CR asks leaning forward slightly.

"She turned into a megalodon".

I frown looking at her "How long ago? Is she still alive?"

"Maybe 20, and yes very much".

I groan and cross my arms "Damn I owe Hope 60 dollars" I grumble.
