Sneaking out I quickly shift and take off into the woods happily purring, I rub against a tree before rolling on the ground.

I hear a musical voice chuckle "Any further kitten and you will cross into my territory".

Jerking up and looking around while sniffing, I feel confused over not finding a scent border "I do not have a scent, I use physical markers look at the tree".

Frowning I move to the tree looking at it seeing a nest of snakes carved into the bark 'Who are you? We don't want problems'.

"I'm an unknown, a secret long hidden from history that time has forgotten" she whispers sounding near my ear, I turn seeing nothing "I have no problem with you so long as you do not hunt me".

'Do you have a name?'

"Yes I do but, it may frighten you" she says laughing.

'I'm not scared easily'.

"I'll give you a starting point, if you need another return, then return with your guess to see if

you are correct".

'Okay try me' I say flicking my tail happily.

I frown seeing a small pouch tossed in front of me "Careful kitten it holds a special hint".

I nod picking it up and rush home, running in I shift ignoring my clothes, then open the pouch I frown seeing a white feather and tusk from a wild boar "The hell" I mumble opening my laptop to start searching.

Morning

I pace looking at both in my hand "Beca why are you naked?" Iris asks looking at me.

I hold my hand out to her so she can see but quickly yanking back when she goes to touch "I went out alone last night, I was restless and felt like I had to go or I'd go crazy".

She nods sitting down "Okay, why do you look so focused?"

"We have someone living in the woods she warned me I was reaching the boundary, but she doesn't have a creature scent she uses physical markers" I say looking at her, Iris nods frowning while motioning me to keep going.

"She talked to me but stayed hidden from me I asked about her she tossed these out, and told me to figure out the hint if I can't return for another. When I make my choice of what the hints point to come back for the answer".

"Did she feel dangerous?" Iris asks looking worried.

"Yes and no, like she could be dangerous but she's not trying to hurt us," I say looking at my hand.

"Do you want my help?"

"No, I think I have to figure it out myself" I say putting them back in the pouch.

"Alright trust your instincts to lead you the right way," Iris says putting her hand on my shoulder "Also get dressed".

I nod heading to the room and grabbing clothes Mathilda kisses my cheek then frowns looking at me "You shouldn't run alone kleine Maus, whatever you have gotten into let us know if you need help" she says calmly.

"You're not mad at me?" I ask confused.

She chuckles shaking her head "You are more than capable of protecting yourself, I know you will let me know if you need help, I trust your judgement".

I nod watching her leave then quickly shower and get dressed before I run back down getting on

my laptop and looking into information.

A few hours later

Jumping up I grab the pouch and jog back out to the tree, sitting down I look at it "Can I get another hint".

"Good morning kitten, have a seat this hint takes longer" she says chuckling "But first what have you found on the first hint?"

I blush holding up the pouch "The tusk is a boar's tusk one thing kept coming up that ties in the white feather".

"And what's that?"

" The winged horse Pegasus and the giant Chrysaor kept coming up" I say nervously.

"Medusa's daughters," she says laughing.

"Okay your next hint, there once was a woman with beauty that rivaled Aphrodite the demigod daughter of a god, betrayal led to her change and death she had three daughters two known from before her change the final after, hidden away from the world for protection.

The final daughter was born with the same changes as her mother hidden so she doesn't meet the same fate as her mother, her sisters ensure any record of her is gone never to be found, she learns how to interact with people without harming them falls in love and has a child. She runs when the child is born like her to hide and protect her".

I frown looking at the pouch confused "How do the things in the pouch tie in?"

"Given to ensure that the power can be controlled to allow her to be around others without fear, over time the gift becomes a power they can use without the those" she whispers.

I nod looking at the pouch "Go, think of your answer then return when ready" she says.
