Chapter 1

Enter the Fierce Flying Fox.

A masquerade ball can be seen happening in the Fortress City Of Kashgar. A man named Toshagake Ryuta can be seen celebrating with his brother over a land grant he gained through illegal means. As they are celebrating Toshagake had seen his brother Soshin being taken towards the dance floor by his escort, a beautiful geisha. As they dance Soshin becomes unaware of a hooded man standing right behind him, as he then thrusting his hand forward towards the back of his neck quickly and pulling it back.

The Geisha soon screams as Toshagake is looking at his brother who is looking in shock as he holds his bleeding with blood gargling in his mouth. As Soshin soon falls down dead as the figure looks at Toshagake as he looks at the hooded man with outrage as he shouts "Kill that man,bring me his balls.' soon his bodyguards moves in to do as commanded. The hooded figure blocks a sword swing from one of the swordsmen as the proceeds to hit him with a back fist followed up by a rising elbow that is followed up by a sweep and stomp to the man's throat.

Another of the bodyguards, a spear fighter tries to kill him only to be countered when the hooded figure sidesteps a thrust and is disarmed of his own spear and impaled him with it. Toshagake is running out of the room as his bodyguards are fighting and dying to the hooded figure.

Toshagake can be seen running with some of his bodyguards running to cover his escape. However they are hit with arrows courtesy of the figure having a gas powered crossbow that mows them down.

Toshagake about to escape on a small boat when he is soon hit with something that stabs through his neck and to the frontside. Before he could move any further , the nobleman had been hung on a post nearby.

"Why don't you hang around Toshagake you might love it from a different view." said the figure as he disappears as his guards soon arrive to the scene.

In Konoha

The village hidden in the leaves seems like a shadow of it's former glory as after years of lost alliances or stricter trade tariffs they seem to be getting by in a fashion similar to Suna who has now become stronger than even them. Some people who blame Naruto for Konoha's fall from power are living less than considerable abodes due to cutbacks on spending.

Tsunade for her part is angry for two reasons one reason is that he is looking at two Civilian Councilors who smugly ignored her warnings of cutbacks are standing in front of her still smug in the actions.

"What part of spending cutbacks are you two not getting. We needed that money to keep R up and help with the economy due to our decline in missions we need to manage the village properly so we can get out on the near red back into the green." said Tsunade scolding the two arrogant councilors as one of them smugly says. "Big deal we don't need some commoner's money especially from a nation that praises that demon lover." "Yes we don't need that money to taint our good walls." said the other as Tsunade floods the room with killing intent.

"That so called demon had brought this village food and supplies due to his efforts and patriotism what has the Uchiha done. He sulked and demanded while his teammate fought and help bring prestige to this village." said Tsunade as she looks at the two councilors in question.

"Regardless Uchiha sama probably would have done better." said the councilor as Tsunade has had enough with these two as she says in a tone that reminds them who's in charge.

"For spending important funds of the village against my orders I hereby banish you from this village and liquidate any assets you have bought for needless expenses." said Tsunade in a commanding tone.

"You can't do this we are part of the council we run this village." said the councilor as he then suddenly feels a piece of himself feel lighter. Looking down he sees that he is missing a leg as he then screams in pain as the other councilor looks in fear as Tsunade says. "You want to run that by me again." as she looks at the man in question as he looks in fear of the female Hokage in question.

"I would suggest you take your friend to see Shizune and then get ready to leave." said Tsunade as the man does as suggested as they rush out of the room with the man's leg.

Tsunade sighs at not having her blonde haired knuckle head of sunshine in the village. She has been hearing rumors about a mysterious assassin known as the Fierce Flying Fox that has been apart of various killings of noblemen, samurai generals and others suspected of corruption. She is worried that her godson isn't in the dangerous killer's sights.

'Naruto I hope that you are okay.' thought Tsunade as she looks out in the distance.

Elsewhere in the Elementals

Inside of a hidden location the figure responsible for the slayings of several corrupt figures can be seen reading a book on aerodynamics of gliders, hopefully for a special glider that he has his clones working on.

As he is reading a carrier pigeon flies into the towers window. Going over he sees his next contract. The mark a Tenma Toshitaro, an arms merchant that is revealed by Kiri rebel intelligence to be selling weapons to both sides. He is hidden in the city of Toragosho, a port city that's on the border of fire and water. With it being positioned on the Fire side of the border.

His target is holding up in a massive tower known as the Shokan Keep.

'Hmm It might be the perfect time to test my rifle and hand grenades.' thought the figure as he goes to get ready for his next escapade of death.

Back in Konoha

Tsunade has a low A rank mission for teams 7, 8, 9 and Guy to take on. The mission to protect Tenma Toshitaro from the Mysterious Assassin known as the Fierce Flying Fox.

They see information on what the Assassin looks like. They see that he is a man in a destingustable hood but wearing highly sophisticated body armor.

At the moment the team is getting ready for the mission at hand. As they are getting ready one of their group, Hinata Hyuga, a girl who has changed is thinking of a certain blonde in question.

She has flashes of Naruto and his bright smile. As she finishes checking her equipment she follows the lead of her team leader. As they move as a unit she thinks. 'Naruto kun I only hope that I might find you one day and tell you how I feel for you.' as she moves with her team towards Toragosho.

With the known assassin.

The Fierce Flying Fox is on a freighter heading towards Toragosho. He looks over the information he was given by his contact inside of the city. Looking over possible vantage points to be able to take a shot at his mark.

He checks his rifle, a weapon that will see the light of his world. The weapon is more advanced than anything in the ninja world.

He also checks his other weapons and equipment. For his other weapons they are unique in their own design as each weapon has a distinct role in combat. With one weapon an under the hand mounted weapon for his left and right forearms. Checking his equipment he sees his ammunition, supplies and grapple gun well in shape and in order.

'Alright let's get this show on the road.' thought the assassin as he leaps from the ship into the water. As he gets to shore he overhears two guards talking.

"Did you hear Toshitaro had hired some Konoha ninja to protect him. They say they have ways to counteract the assassin." said one guard as the other says.

"Oh how so." asked one guard as he looks at the other.

"They sent the heirs of the Inuzuka, Hyuga, Nara, Aikimichi, Yamanaka and Uchiha clans. Along with the strongest of Jonin" said the guard as the assassin is intrigued. 'Hmm I wonder how they are doing this day ' thought the figure as he moves through the sewer system. Moving through it with trained ease. As he reaches a sewer cap getting out he sees that he entered the poverty district of the city.

Moving through the area of navigating with a combination of both his parkour and grappling hook. He makes his way to the highest point in the city getting a seemingly metaphysical sense of the city as he sees many eateries, blacksmiths, clothing shops and other stores in the city as he perform a leap of faith landing in a cart of clothing that seems to be going in the opposite direction of the tower.

As the cart is traveling it soon crosses paths with said Konoha Group. Thankfully the assassin has multiple scented oils on his armor and body and him surprising his chakra as the cart passes the group without them paying any mind.

The assassin soon gets out in the poverty area of the port as he goes to meet a contact of his named the Kappa. He soon stumbles upon the location of the meeting.

"Psst over here." said a voice as the assassin approaches the location. He is soon met by a short stocky sailor with poor quality clothes.

"Are you the Fierce Flying Fox." asked the Sailor in question.

"I am you the Kappa." asked the Flying Fox as he looks at the man who nods.

"Okay we don't have much time, the city guard somehow knows the location of the entry into the tower. They will be on alert for you." revealed the Kappa as he the shows a map and original blueprint of the Tower.

" There is a passageway inside of the tower that leads to the 52nd floor level of that structure. However you would have to get into the water filtering system of the tower to reach it ." said the Kappa as he points at the structure behind the tower.

With The Konoha Group.

Shikamaru is looking over the tower schematics with everyone. "Okay we have the building secured but this assassin is clever and unpredictable we don't know his threat level as he has primarily went after figures who don't employ Shinobi for their protection. This is new for him as he is new for us." said Shikamaru as he looks at the jonin senseis in question who nod in understanding.

"Okay we need to guard the stairways and watch for any suspicious persons who might go up." said Kakashi as they all nod as they each go cover the stairway to the 53rd floor unaware of the assassin's initiating his infiltration at the moment.

With said Assassin

The assassin infiltration works his way through the pipes of the outflow chamber. Thankful for the invention he has that allows for extra amounts of oxygen. Soon working his way into the water system he proceeds to cut open the pipe that he is in with a blowtorch. Getting out of the pipe he fixes it so no alarms can be triggered. Moving like a panther towards the passageway.

As he is silently moving the assassin proceeds to use a unique ability to find what he his looking for. Seeing the brick for the passage he triggers it causing the passage to open up.

Moving up the hidden stairway unimpeded he gets some trip wires out for the Konoha ninja.

Before existing the passage he sees the Konoha group breaking off from into pairs as they each go towards different floors on different levels.

The assassin loads a magazine in his rifle and takes aim at the biggest threats of the group. These being Might Guy and Kakashi. 'Thankfully my rifle is capable of silence firing' thought the assassin as he pulls the trigger on the rifle soon hitting Kakashi and Might Guy who are caught unawares by the assassin as they soon fall down.

The assassin proceeds up the staircase but not before leaving the Konoha group with a surprise.

As he moves up towards his target he switches ammunition as goes for lethal ammo.

With Shikamaru.

Shikamaru checks in with everyone when he checks in on Kakashi and Might Guy he senses something is wrong. "Everyone quick we need to get back up to the top floor the assassin he is here." said Shikamaru through his comms system.

The Konoha group are rushing up the stairs at rapid pace. Before Asuma could reach for the stairs for the 52nd floor he soon finds himself in the detonation of a concussive trip bomb that knocks him and Kurenai on their asses as Hinata and Neji rush to their aide.

Soon Might Guy and Kakashi awaken to find their fellow jonin down. "Kakashi, Guy get to Toshitaro the assassin is on his way to him." said Asuma as he and Kurenai are being treated by Ino and Hinata as Guy and Kakashi heads up the stairs at a slow rapid pace as they start hearing screams as guards are getting slaughtered left and right. They soon turn the corner they see several guards on the ground bleeding and dying as they soon floor the path of screams. As soon as they turn the corner they see the Flying Fox aim his rifle and shoot Tenma Toshitaro in between his eyes killing him when he try to fleet using an airship he had built.

Guy rushes over at the assassin to tackle hum but soon found himself knocked to the floor by the assassin with shocking levels of strength as the chunin arrive to see the carnage as they had made it to late.

"Your too late Konoha ninja. My target is dead, your mission is terminated, you can walk away." said the assassin as he looks at each one of them as Neji and Hinata get into their gentle fist stances they activate their byakugan only to find nothing as if the assassin isn't even there as they are confused at this anomaly in their eyesight. As everyone gets ready to capture the lethal assassin.

"No we will not walk away, you have much to answer for Flying Fox." said Rock Lee as he looks at the assassin in question. The assassin places his rifle on his back as he drops a specially made smoke bomb that causes Hinata and Neji to stop using their Byakugan as the assassin proceeds to jump out of the window.

The group recover to see that the Assassin is gliding through the air using a hang glider of sorts to glide towards a freighter leaving the port city.

"Whoever he is very fast." said Neji as Tenten looks at the dead guards and Tenma as she says. "Fast, deadly and very vicious. I have never seen such a sword like that he used on these guards and that weapon on his back was something else. It was something else to do." as she looks at the corpse with a bullet hole in it.

With the assassin in question.

The Assassin lands on the boat with stylist easy. The captain claps at the display of escape craft from a contract killer. Especially when it comes with style.

"So Flying Fox where to." asked the Captain as the assassin says. "Towards Wind Country." he looks back at the Konoha group who are in awe at the feat of the assassin's timing and skill.

'Hmm It looks like I need to increase my training for more than just chunin level.' thought The assassin as he walks towards the deck of the ship to his quarters as the ship soon enters Water Country's side.

One Hinata Hyuga senses something of a familiarity with the assassin. She doesn't know what but senses something about his cunning and skill that makes her think of one blonde. However she keeps it to herself as this is more of a theory based on familiarity than actual consistent fact.

Timeskip 3 weeks later in Konoha

The council is in an uproar the team they had sent to bodyguard Tenma Toshitaro had failed despite having their best team in their village guard him.

"Shut up!" shouted Tsunade, quieting the council down.

"Okay this is an upset but we must keep clear heads. As this isn't the time to loose our heads. We have been getting reports of Oto ninja attacking forward outposts near the borders." said Tsunade as she shows the report.

"Forget that we need to find that Assassin and force him to teach him Uchiha sama his skills and that weapon." said one civilian as Tsunade has a tick mark as the civilian councilors agree to such an idea.

"You fools, we are under siege we don't need to waste manpower in searching for this assassin we next to nothing about or even the means to get into contact. We need to focus on our defenses not allow one spoiled brat you enabled to much to gain more power." said Tsunade as the clan heads agree to her reasoning.

"Ryu, Shikaku I want double the patrols around the borders. To combat these surprise attacks. Have any survivors captured and brought to Konoha so we can interrogate them." said Tsunade as the duo nods at the command.

"Meeting adjourned," said Tsunade as she scowls at the civilian council as they gritted their teeth in anger at being denied. One of their number plots to have their way by using one who is known to defy the Hokage. That one is Danzo Shimura, the Shinobi Prince of Darkness himself.

Elsewhere in Konoha

Hinata and Neji are having an intense sparring session with each other. Hinata ever since Naruto's banishment had took charge of her life and showed the Hyuga Elder's what a Hyuga who has lost someone has to offer when she put her increasingly arrogant sister in her place showing her true strength. She had also called out the elders for their barbaric practices and told them to put aside their pride for the future or get out of her way.

They wanted to retort but saw that this wasn't the same timid little girl they had bullied in the past. They knew that they found a true will of a leader in the Hyuga clan, one that is motivated by the loss of an unrequited love.

Hinata for her part had developed into a fierce kunoichi in her own right having trained under Tsunade

Neji had grown into a strong Hyuga member as he had consistently trained like there is no tomorrow.

Hinata soon uses an unorthodox maneuver to end the session.

"Excellent Hinata I must say your Juken skills are getting better along with you use of the unorthodox tactics." said Neji as Hinata smiles in appreciation at Neji's compliment.

"Well I had remembered how Naruto kun had been the most unpredictable ninja in the village. I decided why adopt something in homage to his unpredictability." said Hinata as Neji senses the sadness in her voice as he says in a reassuring tone. " Hinata, he would be proud. I know he would." as Hinata smiles at her cousin in his reassurance. The duo go inside and clean up.

'Naruto I hope I can see you again.' thought Hinata as she soaks in a hot bath.

With the Assassin

The assassin is traveling towards a secluded area in Fire Country he was given an invite for a supposed business venture. With a man named Toshi Menma a go between for an unknown benefactor that he has his suspicion of.

He sees Toshi in the clearing as he senses around him as he senses several Anbu of the leaf but he can't recognize the armor until they

"What is the offer that you have for me?" asked Flying Fox as he looks at the man in question.

"My associates are offering 9,000,000 ryo for you to come to Konoha and train Sasuke Uchiha in your skills and to sell them your weapon." said Toshi as the assassins senses around him to sense a squad of 34 Anbu.

"If I refuse." asked the assassin as the Anbu quickly spring into action surrounding him. The assassin sees the Anbu more clearly seeing who they are. 'Root!' thought the Flying Fox as he sees them surround him with weapons out.

"I don't think you have a choice renegade." said Toshi as two Root members approach him to disarm him until the assassin in blinding speed cuts the two down with relative ease. The Root charge to attack and eliminate him. But with brutal efficiency he slays each one with the use of his combat skills and weapons.

Each of the Root nin are on the ground dead or dying from either, explosive wounds, sword wounds, gunshots, knife wounds and blunt force trauma from unarmed strikes from the man in question as Toshi stands there in shock at the devastation as the Flying Fox goes over to him to says. "Tell them that this will happen to them if they try to demand it from me. For If they come this is what will happen." as the man leaves. Toshi runs towards the direction of who hired him to let them know of his failure and the death of the Root that was with him.

As the assassin is walking home he sees a girl who has seen better days. Sensing no ill intent from the scene goes to check up on her.

The girl is a site of beauty. She has long wavy brown hair with a small widows peak. In a violet Kimono blouse with white trimmings tied by a black obi with black shorts with a kunai holster under a black skirt and black shinobi boots. She seems to have been sent flying by a power strike that seems to have broken an arm and leg. The Assassin feels for any broken ribs and finds only 4 broken.

'Hmm such beauty in a place of the wild.' thought the assassin as he picks her up and takes her with him towards his stronghold.

Hours later

The girl slowly wakes up to find herself in a bed with a figure standing over her. She soon focuses and sees a blonde hair boy of her age showing a reassuring smile that is only enhanced by 6 bolden whisker marks as he cleans her face.

"Hello miss I had found you in the forest in Fire Country. I would like to ask some questions. Who are you and how did you get into such a condition." asked the boy in question as she then asks. "Who are you and where am I." asked the girl as she looks at him fighting a blush on her face as she looks into his alluring primal azure eyes.

"I am Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze and this is my compound. Please tell me who are you and what where you doing in that forest by yourself." asked Naruto as he looks at the girl feeling a small spark of emotions that scream of a kindred spirit in burned as she looks into her eyes. She also sees something in his eyes that her teacher has in a way.

"My name is Hotaru no last name and I was following my teacher Utakata. He has something of a burden something like you a Bijuu. I was following him when 6 people surrounded him. I tried to help him but I was knocked away by some invisible force of some sort" said Hotaru as she starts to shed tears as Naruto comforts her as best as he can.

"Shh It's alright let it out." said Naruto as he hugs her and soothes her as she calms down.

"I need to go find him. I must." said Hotaru as Naruto stops her.

"I am sorry but it's too late. From what I can tell about you. You where out for what seemed like 6 hours the group who had took Utakata is known as the Akatsuki, an organization that is mysteriously hunting Jinchuriki like Utakata and myself. I am sorry but he would most likely be dead." said Naruto breaking the news to Hotaru who is devastated as he comforts her deeply.

"Then help me get better so I can avenge him." said Hotaru as Naruto looks at her and asks. "If you are going to avenge anyone. Do you know how to fight?" "I have my kinjutsu of the Tsuchigumo clan and the Water Release:Wild Water Wave." said Hotaru as Naruto the says something causes her to listen carefully.

"You need more than brute force type ninjitsu to survive a battle with these dangerous fighters. For I know you are strong to use such jutsus you would most likely not survive and I know you master wouldn't want you to die if there was a way to survive the battle." said Naruto as Hotaru is about to argue but senses Naruto is right about what he is saying as she then asks. "Would you teach me?" "Yes but let me ask you something are you aware of an assassin known as the Fierce Flying Fox?" as Hotaru nods in confirmation as Naruto picks her up bridal style as he places her in a wheelchair and pushes her into a room to reveal the armor of said assassin as Hotaru puts two and two together as she turns towards Naruto in shock and surprise as she says

"Your Flying Fox." as Naruto nods and smiles at the girl and says "Yes I am and if you're going to be going toe to toe with the Akatsuki your going to need my help to survive against them and live to tell the tale to your boyfriend or girlfriend." as Hotaru looks at him with determination as she says.

"I will do whatever you ask of me if you will teach me." said Hotaru as Naruto smiles at her and says "Well you training will begin now with something of my mentors have taught me that will make sure I will make sure you not only survive but also live on with new enlightenment." Hotaru feels a sense of danger yet a sense of growth in the blonde and his words.

"I will not fail you mentor." said Hotaru as she gets ready for her training as she trains under the boy who is the face behind the mask of a mythical assassin.

Author's Notes

The Rifle Naruto is using is based off on the Mosin Nagant used by Nikolai Orelov from Assassin Creed Chronicles: Russia. That is modified for Naruto to use. Other weapons will be revealed along with special abilities of each Assassin grandmaster that has been demonstrated by each assassin lore wise and game wise. Along with a few originals.

Hotaru is an under used character so I decided to have her in the harem as Naruto builds an order like the Assassins.
