The daunting aspect of the tasks that lay before Elsa of restoring a dragon's severed magic would have its own set of challenges yes- Elsa however was not expecting the largest hurdle to be Ryu's complete insouciance towards the topics of her roots and inner being.

"Ryu-chan please pay attention." It was the forty seventh time Elsa had beseeched for her pupil's attention– she had counted– along with rubbing the tension away from her temples at the lack of heed her words beguiled.

Ryu's engrossment had been captured by history, religion, astronomy, science, and other academics… just of the wrong species.

"How did Mary not die from pushing out a baby with a giant yellow hoop thing attached to his head?" She turned the book over that she was reading showing the picture of Christ in the manger, instead of listening to Elsa's lecture about the elemental nature of eastern dragons.

Elsa's theoretical approach was the power of knowledge, sadly she wasn't aware of the type of magic Ryu could possess but she considered herself close to an expert of natural elements of magic so she started there.

"I…" How could she possibly explain? Closing her eyes she thought about the best way for it to make sense, squashing any loopholes Ryu might have found to worm in another inquiry. While she appreciated the dragon's interest in education now simply wasn't the time.

"That's- he didn't come out like that. It's an artistic representation of him being the holy son of God." Ryu's furrowed brows and pursed lips did not look satisfied though with the answer.

Oh boy.

"So the artist when he was born just decided to put a yellow yolk around his head? How come Mary allowed that? It's basically lying."

"Ryu that painting wasn't made right at the time of his birth, it was probably made hundreds of years later." Ryu pouted, she'd get to the bottom of this and all things she was curious about… even at the stake of Elsa's sanity.

"Then how did they know what he looked like?"

"They don't."

"So they just guess." Elsa nodded.

"How come the Christians and the Islams don't get on well?" Elsa sighed, it was simplistic questions like this that always made her doubt the amount of humanity humans actually had within them. It was their propensity towards violence and destruction that kept the cynicism always shadowing her altruism. Sighing dejectedly she shrugged feeling defeated knowing that she could never rid the world of the horridness without succumbing to it herself.

"I don't know, they just… believe different things."

Ryu peeked over her book, blinking."But you and I believe different things and we get on well."

It was that right there that endeared Elsa to not only Ryu but her whole species. If Ryu was the ideal example of how dragons thought and behaved– which Elsa believed she was– then it gave Elsa some faith, some hope that if she kept this little flicker of pure light alive and strong surrounded by darkness then she hadn't failed her fellow man. She smiled softly watching Ryu pour over page after page, she closed the distance between them. It was so bizarre this reverence born into her chest met by an unholy searing red hot lust Elsa did not know her person was capable of. She had already been through all the mental gymnastics of it creating an internal spectrum, one end convinced her she was no different than the other human who would just selfishly take and take till there was nothing left and on the opposing side it felt wrong to not provide Ryu the sweet sensual care she deserved. She was alone in this world and without a doubt had needs– if her keening whines and thrusts whenever she and Elsa found themselves engaged with each other were anything to go by– as the protector and provider to dragen lys wasn't it Elsa's responsibility to fulfill all her needs even those of carnal physicality?

"Yes, we do."

"They say he's humble right? Mr. Christ I mean– yet he said he's the son of god. What's up with that?"

"Well he may not have, we don't know. There is a belief that everyone is a child of god."

Ryu frowned exaggeratedly, nodding her head, quite impressed with the feat. "Huh well the guy gets around…"

"But that was blasphemy back then and got him killed."

"Yes I woulda kept quiet on that one."

Elsa chuckled while sitting beside Ryu sideways on the arm of the recliner. "That would have been the smart thing." Ryu pressed her nose to Elsa's side and inhaled deeply keeping the air and whatever it was she just smelt she kept inside for as long as possible before exhaling, her pupils dilated and her throat bobbed from a harsh swallow, shaking her head she regained focus on the book.

It was silly the embarrassment Elsa felt, she knew the girl had an incredible nose, could she smell her want that pooling between her thighs from the dark terrible thoughts plaguing Elsa? She could never bring herself to ask, less she died of shame.

"Crucifixion sounds painful but maybe he requested it cause he knew it would make a great symbol to catch people's interest."

All Elsa could do was nod slowly.

The things my Gecko wonders about.

"Maybe he did. I don't know, I never met him." The last part may have been silly but with Ryu it felt very necessary to clarify.

Ryu, noticing that Elsa had abandoned the boring dragon stuff, put the large book down in favor of a smaller one– cupping her chin she leaned over reclining.

"So this baka, Genghis, what's he on about? Why's he so huffy?"

Elsa rubbed the bridge of nose mumbling. "Jesus Christ."

"No not Jesus, this Khan fella… so humans reverted to religions with peace and love and then set about killing anyone who didn't also believe in their religion of peace and love…" Elsa didn't want to answer that, thus acknowledging the asinine nature of the entire religious movement of the past in Europe and the Middle East.

Ryu blinked brows rising to her hairline. "Hm, marvelous." The mental acrobatics that would take to reach this solution went beyond Ryu's comprehensive skills. Humans were a lot more complicated than she originally thought.

"Humans go against their nature a lot don't they? I mean full of contradictions eh."

Elsa frowned, no longer able to hold her tongue on the matter. She didn't want to spread her own mixed feelings on humanity but she would not let Ryu remain ignorant. "Religion is not part of human nature Ryu… violence is."

Ryu stared up at her confused. "I… not you though." Her voice was small yet dauntless, her confidence had Elsa searching deep inside of herself questioning, did she have violent tendencies? She liked to think no, but how far would it take to bring out that side of her?

Her mind wandered to the incident in her ice castle. She had nearly killed Weselton's men, had Hans, a violent himself, not intervened.

Still did self defense or defending others count. As Elsa stared into Ryu's curious eyes that familiar voice tried to tell her their entire relationship was wrong, sinful, that she was tainting the dragoness in some manner. Elsa inwardly snorted at this. Compared to what? According to who? The ones who Ryu just spoke of? The very people who preached love, and peace and spent their free time slaughtering each other.

That disgusting shame that was so hard to shake free of, Ryu had been so understanding, too understanding, willing to accept the bare minimum of what Elsa would give when she addressed it with the most simple solution it wrung Elsa's heart to bits.

"Well Erusa, I don't want you to feel bad after being with me ever, but I have to say I'd rather you love me in a sinful way then hate me in a righteous way."

If what had occured years ago on the north mountain counted as a sin Elsa's repentance dwelled in Ryu. She was certain of it. She'd care and make Ryu feel amazing and loved in any way necessary and if she just so happened to enjoy it herself that was alright too. Just as long as she didn't hurt her. Worry still lingered.

Leaning down Elsa connected their foreheads, closing her eyes.

Finally Elsa had managed to drag Ryu out of bed to dress and head out for the royal graves. She had been here plenty of times with Anna, well not necessarily this exact place; they were a good distance from her parents' own graves.

She cradled the sniffling Anna close, glaring at Ryu when she yawned tiredly. Bruni rested upon her shoulder and had to resort to slapping her cheek a couple of times to keep her awake.

Elsa swore she was an inch close to having Nokk give her a watery smack from his tail.

Anna sighed and rolled her head towards Ryu, surprising her with her next request.

"It's your turn to say a few words for Kjekk."

This woke Ryu up, sure everyone had said their piece of what they knew about him but she had only met him thrice maybe twice? Looking at Elsa grimacing, the spirit nudged her head, signaling for Ryu to comply.

"Ummm okay," Ryu cleared her cracking voice, folding her hands in front. "He was a horse and…" Anna was the only one who nodded in the group at the profound words whispering her own agreement. "Yea he was."

"He stayed that way until the end when he decided to not breathe anymore cause it's kinda boring sometimes. At least I don't know– he could have changed but uh he was born the normal way… from a horse I think? I don't know, I wasn't there but he did enjoy horsey things so if he wasn't a horse well…that's weird." Ryu thought about the implications of this. What if he wasn't?

"But uh he wanted to spend more time in his coffin," she gestured down to the large coffin in the ground not yet covered. "And he did and he is so good on him yea." She nodded, folding her lips. "He drew lots of pictures from what I've been told, pictures of carriages and carts, very limited but it was what he was good at. I did not know horses could draw. He was a good horse or horse impersonator still not confirmed." There that should be goo-

Anna began crying again, leaning over to whisper to Ryu's ears. "Can you talk about the bond between horses and people?"

Ryu nodded, she couldn't very well say no to a crying Anna. Well actually she could but saw no issue with it.

"Humans kidnapped and-uh-enslaved horses and other animals when they realized walking to places is the absolute worst. And figured out that someone else could walk for them, other animals they kill and eat after befriending them and gaining their trust, and others get to live if they're pretty enough." Elsa took a steadying breath bracing herself for whatever this was, she peered at Anna relieved to see her actually moved by the words clutching Kristoff's hand. Olaf tipped his flower towards Ryu in solidarity, he had a lot of people to comfort today so any help was welcomed.

"Anyways the relationship between humans and horses is confusing and somewhat erotic …." Sputtering Ryu shook her head when Elsa and Kristoff's necks snapped in her direction. "Sorry exotic…" Ryu frowned then shrugged. "Eh well erotic, but strong since humans discovered a lot of their problems or minor inconveniences– like using their legs could be solved with shoving an animal in-between them."

Nokk and Elsa glanced at one another, cringing at the words.

"Anna, I hope you have comfort and peace knowing that the one who spent the most time ever between your legs can't do that anymore because worms are eating him and to take him away from that is rude. I hope your last ride was special cause you can't do that anymore cause he's dead…forever."

Elsa and Kristoff braced for the emotion that overcame Anna who nodded gratefully to Ryu. "It was."

Ryu tore her empathetic gaze from the queen to the hole in the ground draining them of any emotion. "Goodbye kettle."

Kristoff shook his head. "That's not his name–"

"We'll never see you again… unless we get bored and dig you up then I guess we can… so nevermind the goodbye more like see you later… maybe." Everyone threw in their flowers except Ryu. She didn't think to bring a flower, she didn't know the protocol really having never been to a funeral before, so to show respect she tossed in a clod of dirt. Horses seemed to like dirt, which is why they never wore shoes– she concluded.

The funeral party was taken back to the castle. Elsa, Olaf,Sven, and Kristoff were going over the battle plans which were to be Anna's care following the tragedy of her beloved companion.

Speaking of Anna…

Ryu found her sulking out the window. The sunny day did not match her mood by any means, but the weather had a tendency of doing that.

"He was a good horse." Ryu clasped her hands behind her back watching the people go about their day.

She shrugged. "I don't know if he was, I never knew him." Anna glanced at her and nodded. That was fair.

"I wish you could have, thanks for coming by the way and for speaking for him. He doesn't understand words anyways but likes to hear voices."

"He can't hear anything… he's dead." She said a matter of factly then patted Anna's shoulder. "I'm sorry you're sad."

"Thanks."

After a few moments of silence Anna finally voiced the thought that had been plaguing her mind since Ryu's speech. "D-do you really think he could have been a fake horse?"

"I don't know, I guess we'll never know… it's a mystery." She whispered the last part, now she and Anna were pondering this with tilted heads.

"Hey Ryu no, no!" Honeymaren laughed as the dragon pounced, shaking her rear, on her brother dragging him by his moccasin.

"Elsa!" She smiled at the elder herbalist carrying a basket of rich smelling powders. Approaching Elsa clasped their hands together tenderly.

"Hello Ada, how are you?" The old woman smiled, nodding her head from side to side. "Oh you know as summer is closing I am making preparations for autumn and then winter and everyone falling on their behinds due to ice." They both giggled, she leant an ear when Elsa leaned in mischievously whispering. "It's probably my ice."

Ada linked their arms together ushering her towards her shop, though Elsa didn't resist physically she needed to get her words out before she was pushed into goahti surrounded by Elders who could talk for hours, mostly gossip.

"Do you know where Yelena is, I actually have an important matter to discuss with her?" Ada' face changed dour. "Oh my I hope it's nothing like an emergency?"

Elsa didn't mind the noisy question. "Well it's not immediate, I just need advice about-" their attention was captured by Ryder's screeching as Ryu ran past with his leg clamped in her jaws.

Honeymaren and a few herders chased chuckling. "Don't break his leg!" One boy yelled.

"We need him for chores!" Honeymaren added.

Elsa jutted a thumb in their direction. "It's about Ryu." Ada nodded and led Elsa to her shop all the same. Parting the entrance Elsa allowed Ada to waddle past first shocked at the sight that greeted her when she entered.

"Oh!" Her eyes raked over the man sheepishly grinning at her with his leg propped up on a table. There were bloody cloths and the stench of alcohol perfuming the air of the hut.

"If you decide next time to not listen and heed our teachings, then at least use better judgment. You used neither of those." Yelena clutching her staff glowered down at the young man who cheekily glanced at Elsa. "Bear attack."

Ada cackled at this. "It wasn't an attack, she was warning you, you didn't listen." Elsa shot him sympathetic eyes.

"I can begin tracking the female tomorrow to see what her territory range is and where she's planning on taking residency."

Ryder's screams could be heard from outside. Yelena opened the window, not quite shouting; she always managed to get her voice to cover great distances without raising it. "Ryder." Ryu skirted to a halt, dropping the man.

"Stop disturbing the peace of the village." Before Ryder could reply to his defense Ryu jumped on his stomach bouncing away from the crime scene. Finally Honeymaren caught up. "Sorry Yelena I'll get everyone settled and back on tasks." She responded, still smiling.

Elsa joined her at the window but after Yelena nodded, saying "Please be sure that you do." She closed it testily.

"Umm maybe I should go get Ryu." Elsa offered for Yelena to shake her head. "Honeymaren can handle her just fine."

"Well actually I needed to speak to you about her." Yelena ushered Elsa out of the hut.

As they walked Elsa wrung her fingers together. "Well I've been having difficulty helping her reconnect with her magic. I came to you because you know how to connect with magic better than anyone I know despite not possessing magic yourself, you lived in harmony with the spirits in a symbiotic relationship and still do." Yelena nodded, she kept her eyes trained forward to not give away the blush Elsa's unintentional comment had painted on her cheeks, Elsa had expected some surprise from her considering she was an entity of magic herself.

"What process have you taken with this?"

"Well I thought it fitting to start with helping her connect with her roots and nature to see if her magic is perhaps elemental like mine." But even that had been a failure when Elsa began with water. She explained how she tried to teach Ryu the science of water to better understand the body but Ryu had lived the majority of her life in oceans and seas, and seemed to not have an interest in going back to it so soon.

"I understand your trials Elsa."

"You do?" Yelena nodded. "You two are opposites in a way, most of your life people tried to have you suppress your magic but it wouldn't stand for such treatment" Elsa glanced at her hands, true even now she had some difficulty placating it sometimes.

"Ryu has probably never seen her magic before, it doesn't want to come out. Perhaps it was threatened at some point into hiding. I believe your analytical approach may not work this time. You must find a way to coax it out carefully." Elsa frowned, she knew Ryu had been treated in vile ways so she guessed that made sense but still how did one coax out magic? As Yelena said her past life was spent trying to keep her magic in. It couldn't have been like coaxing Ryu physically to not be so fearful could it? Elsa shook her head.

No, certainly not.

Oh no.

Ryu sighed facing the large herd of reindeer. Honeymaren persuaded her to dress and join them to learn how to tend to the animals, insisting that this was the best way for Ryu to earn their trust. Why Ryu needed that she hadn't the slightest clue.

In her travels she loved animals well enough but they didn't love her, to them she was either prey or a predator which they actually didn't get wrong, either she was being chased by something or the one chasing. Even when she took pity on the trapped or hurt they still acted upon instinct. She couldn't blame them really realizing how harsh and unforgiving nature could be, only equalizing it with wonder and beauty.

There was one individual she met that was an anomaly to that but very soon nature took its hold on him too.

"Alright so, we're gonna start you off by shearing them-" Ryu scrunched her face up as she was handed large thick scissors.

"We're gonna steal their fur?" She glanced wearily at the herd who held the same expressions towards her. Honeymaren snorted at this.

"No! We're gonna give them haircuts. It's not stealing, they like it." She patted one on the rear as it grazed past her.

"They do?"

"Mhm, see wild Reindeer can't get shorn so they have to just grin and bear the heat but ours are a little spoiled, so we cut them now and then when they begin dropping their coats in fall it won't get matted and we get even more fur. And their winter coats are gorgeous." She said with pride eyeing the animals.

"Oh…" Ryu hadn't expected that, she thought they'd be shaved naked and left to shiver in the nights to come.

"What? You thought we would just take without helping them too?" Her reindeer- herder-in-training nodded. Honeymaren dropped the brazen attitude and gripped Ryu's shoulders tenderly.

"No, we don't just take Ryu, we have to give and take otherwise there will be nothing left for anybody. We care for them and they care for us in return. They're a part of the tribe just as much as me, Elsa, or Ryder, or Yelena or anyone else and we take care of each other no matter what." Ryu looked down at the ground in shame for thinking so little of these people, expecting the worst, she was also very conflicted. Observing the other herders it was evident there was a strong bond between them and the herd. Honeymaren understood knowing her background with humans but she wouldn't let the girl walk around believing such things about her people.

Ryu sighed dejectedly. "They don't really like me." Honeymaren took her hand.

"Well cause they don't know, just like you don't know them. Someone has to make the first move. May as well be you. You seem brave enough. Here, start with Emil. He's in charge and doesn't mind you much and the others will follow. I promise."

Ryu was nudged towards the white bull reindeer who regarded her apathetically chewing on a carrot he stole from Honeymaren's pocket. She wiggled her fingers at him approaching slowly.

"Hey, um I'm just gonna- give you a haircut, maybe that'll cool you down." Slowly she began copying what she had seen the others doing around her, dropping the plush soft fur into the basket provided.

After a while the most adventurous of the lot wandered towards her when she finished nudging her arm with their muzzle.

"Hey-" Ryu giggled, petting the animal's snout. "You want to go next?" She cooed and set to work.

Honeymaren casted her hands up on her hips proud watching the dragon work and occasionally make soft conversation with her subject.

A sharp buck from an adolescent brought her back. "Okay, okay." She turned to her, producing a pair of shears from her pocket.

Ryu was brought from the calming work of clipping when she felt a soft thud on her ankle, the perpetrator began chewing on her brown woolen pants.

Grinning, she looked down and just as she suspected there was Misty. "Kon'nichiwa, chīsana ko." The somewhat larger calf was scooped up in her arms. Ryu took the shears and cut the shaggy bangs on her forehead. The calf nuzzled her neck nipping and sucking her scales, not quite out of the habit of nursing.

"There, now we can see those pretty eyes." When Ryder came by he assessed her work and gave a thumbs up.

"What happened to Misty's parents?" She had noticed that while accepted in the herd, Misty was usually alone and relied way too much on people to not be an orphan.

He sighed petting the young animal. "Poachers, I guess they wanted their white pelts and they caused a fire at their camp, Misty got burned by the embers." Ryu gazed into the reindeer's milky white eyes, noticing the small and healed scratches outlining her sockets. Protectively her grasp tightened.

"She looooves you." Ryu snorted at this, putting her down.

"Yea right she loves everyone. So what's next?"

"Milking, but don't drink it." Ryu rolled her eyes following him. "You don't have to worry about that." As if to prove a point, Misty followed Ryu's heels closely, tripping her up a few times.

Elsa felt a warmth spread through her chest as she rested her palms against a tree cushioning her face to rest against the trunk. There was her Ryu milking a reindeer in the open green field playfully glaring at a young boy who had just sprayed her with milk. She stuck her tongue at him while he aimed for it, hitting his target.

Elsa giggled behind her fingers when Ryu winced for a few seconds before experimentally testing the flavor, they may have not seen it. But oh Elsa did. She caught the subtle light in her eyes and the way Ryu's tongue rolled around spreading the taste throughout her mouth.

"See it's not so bad." Ryder stated, placing his hat upon Ryu's head.

"Yea… " Ryu began quietly. "Not bad at all." Elsa wasn't certain what she was referring to but was pleased nonetheless and very very proud. Her heart fluttered at how gentle she was with the herd, those sweet, soft murmurs of comfort Ryu whispered into their ears.

"Misty no don't do that!" Ryu exclaimed, pulling the calf out from dipping her whole head in the bucket.

"Oh Elsa dear!" The call had interrupted her wistful stalking, turning she saw a few women and men senior to her age seated at a fire pit including Yelena who despite being busy still made time to socialize with all age groups of her tribe even if she had work during.

Grinning Elsa joined them, she found serenity in their harmless gossip and Ada arguing with her brother Aiden over how to season the food they had simmering upon the fire. To Elsa it still smelt good no matter who made it, the siblings always had her taste test their dishes deciding who was best. Elsa initially assumed her indecision would deter them but it only created an even hotter rivalry between them. As if her winning vote was a finish line to race to no matter how much food and spoons had to be shoved into her face.

As the gossiping conversation transitioned to the romance that would be blooming this upcoming spring eyes turned to the almost dozing Elsa, with her arms crossed and eyes closed exhausted from running around the forest to do maintenance checks on animals she was tracking, racing to and from Arendelle with supplies, and prepping more seminars to give on how to handle wildlife that were venturing in closer and closer. Sensing their scrutiny Elsa's head snapped up. She blinked at them in a questioning manner.

"So Elsa, do you think you'll be frolicking in the upcoming spring?" Elsa winced at this already dreading where the conversation was headed. She had seen so many couples, mostly that of young adults do what many in the tribe called Frolicking, to her it was always fun to see the romantic wooing. She and the other spirits worked extra hard to make it joyous for everyone, even those who were alone by choice or involuntary circumstances. Between Bruni creating romantic lighting, Gale blowing flowers around, and the earth giants helping Elsa take the best vantage points walking around to shower the entire forest with little ice hearts. From that a tradition was born, lovers would have to catch the hearts and give them to someone special who'd also give one, those from Arendelle would come and join the fun as well.

Elsa loved it, being a part of the joyous merriments in some way, a celebration of love no matter the kind. Looking at it from that perspective Elsa had given hearts to many people… but no one had ever given her one back. She was of course spoiled with gifts from her family especially Anna- perhaps a little too much- but she couldn't help but selfishly dream of being given a simple heart from someone who wasn't her family.

"She'll have to be twitterpainted first." Elsa blushed, sending a silent visual distress signal to Yelena. The leader spoke up arms as crossed as she was to hear and be a part of the fatuous conversation. "You don't still believe in that old tale of nonsense do you?" Aiden giggled. "Ah but Yelena that old tale has been with our tribe even before you were even thought of. Even before Ada which is hard to think since she was there when Odin was born himself." At this Elsa laughed as the man was smacked by his sister.

Smiling, she let them argue, resting her chin on her knee as her mind daydreamed about a specific young prospect and all the wonderful things they could get up to in the spring after cuddling in the winter.

"You shouldn't settle for just anyone, they should be a good conversationalist, we need conversation for when you're not around of course."

"And an artisan who is good with their hands. Smart, imagine being trapped with an idiot who couldn't tell a nail from a hammer."

"Yea imagine that, oh wait nevermind I have you. "

"Take that back!"

"Someone who likes animals and adventures would be nice."

"And romantic, and handsome or beautiful."

"Please don't bring home any ugly people Elsa."

Elsa raised her brow at them before returning back to her fantasies.

Ryu.

Maybe next year she'd be twitterpainted.

Maybe she'll get to frolic.

Maybe next spring I'll be given a heart.

When Ryu finally returned to camp at dusk Elsa watched, keeping a distance waiting patiently as some teens and young adults clasped her shoulders. She was pleased she seemed to be making friends, even if it took away from their time together. At least she wouldn't get lonely when Elsa was all over the forest.

"You have to teach me to fish like a dragon sometimes."

"You can't idiot, your nose is too short." His peers teased.

"Maybe it'll grow." Ryu promised chuckling at his blush. She returned back to the conversation she was having with a woman both holding numerous empty baskets.

"Thanks for helping me weave these Ryu." She shrugged. "Sure! thanks for teaching me, anytime really. Oh actually no I could be busy or napping so I guess sometimes." This made her companion giggle.

"Oh wait here, this one is yours, it's the first one you made. I marked it for you." Ryu smiled, cradling it as if it was a jewel off the crown of Midas himself.

"Maybe when you aren't napping I could teach you some Northuldran."

"Okay!"

Elsa pouted pitifully at this.

I was going to teach her...

When her eyes landed on Elsa she ran over, they were bright, wide, and swirling with wonder. "Erusa-chan! Meartá taught me how to dispatch a fish easily so it won't suffer, apparently that makes it taste bad, she also said that the way I fish does just that and I didn't even know it!" Elsa giggled at her excitement clutching her shoulders, herding them towards her goahti.

"Oh really?"

"Mhm." Ryu nodded vigorously. "Then Sikká showed me how to weave baskets."

"Oh wow so you know how to weave? I'm proud." Ryu frowned, shaking her head.

"Absolutely not. I did not remember anything she said," Elsa laughed, shaking her head.

Oh of course.

"I only copied her. Oh and I milked reindeer, did you know that with how much food they get here they produce extra milk so it can be painful for them to not give us- I mean er to not give the tribe any?"

Elsa, pretending to be surprised, nodded. "I see." She knew that but she also loved it when Ryu told her things, be it anything… well not anything but most things.

A girl like Ryu, Elsa couldn't help but compare all the things she heard from others, she held her own opinions on the subject but still … Elsa couldn't resist the urge of wanting to meet those standards of others.

"Oh yea! How could I forget! This is for you." Elsa looked to the weaved basket then her eyes slowly trailed up to Ryu's glimmering expression and jovial grin.

"Ryu…" It was the first time. The first time Elsa ever had to stop herself from publicly outing the true nature of their relationship. She hoped no one noticed that after she took the basket she had nearly kissed the girl right in front of all those outside. She hoped they didn't see the flush of her cheeks, or the way she leant in, the instinctive way Ryu reacted tilting her head up to greet Elsa's lips, the way the air grew colder with blue and white sparkling flutters buzzing at her fingertips, a flurry hummed underneath her skin as if her magic grew restless and wanted to flair out to greet the dragon itself.

It was a growing problem.

Over the past week, Elsa had noticed her magic reacting queerly to Ryu. She had caught herself allowing wisps and trails of glittering snowflakes unspool from her fingertips gravitating towards Ryu until Elsa shook her head and put an end to it.

It felt like tiny pricks now under her skin wanting to bleed and gush forth. It was worrying despite Ryu's bedazzlement and nonchalant attitude towards the outburst.

Gulping visibly she took her hand and led her away. It probably hurt, her grip was far tighter and colder than usual.

She had dinner waiting for them in her dwelling. While they ate Ryu told her all sorts of stuff, some she already knew and some she didn't. Tiredly she watched with a smile she just couldn't erase at the babbling girl.

"Oh where is it? Where are you?" Anna huffed at her desk desperately searching around, she'd handle the huge mess later but for now she needed to find her notebook. It couldn't be somewhere else; she just had it in her hand.

"Kon'nichiwa, an'nasan."

Anna had no idea what that meant but she heard her name somewhere in there.

She looked up grinning insincerely at the girl stepping through her window but it slowly morphed back into the previous frown. "Hey Ryu. Need something?" Why wasn't she with Elsa?

"Not really, I just came around to see if you wanted to go flying."

"I'm sorry I can't. I'm already late as ever to a graduation ceremony I'm supposed to speak at and I can't find my speech notes." When she looked up with a red face about to give up she saw Ryu holding it out to her smirking.

"It was here." Ryu pointed before Anna could ask at the top of the desk lying beneath the papers she had thrown to search for it in the first place.

Anna chuckled, flabbergasted at herself.

"Thanks."

"Where's the speech at?"

"In Harmon I have thirty minutes to get there and it is a two hour ride." She billowed her cheeks with air looking at the clock. Maybe if she stared at it long enough it'd freeze time.

Ryu, thinking the same thing, joined her. "I could get you there in thirty." Anna gasped.

"You could! Are you sure?" Her friend shrugged, closing her eyes. "Hai, I mean will the people of Harmon be all "Ahhh scary dragon kill it!" She accompanied the high pitch squeal with sword and arrow sound effects teasing a grin out of Anna who shook her head.

"Well no they're used to magic, and they have heard of you– probably don't know you're a dragon but they do know of some gray, pink and blue character flopping about in the sky over here– plus you'll be with me so." After noticing the trepidation on Ryu's face as she thought it through Anna sighed, she looked uncertain, a faraway expression taking over her face, as her eyes stared into some forgotten corner of the room.

It was still a nice offer but she supposed she'd have to be late better than never.

"Its okay Ryu thanks any-"

"I'll do it."

"What? Are you sure?" Ryu nodded, grinning calmly. There was a change; it was subtle but her daily jaunt with politics had taught Anna how to read micro expressions that many people tried to hide.

To find out if she was correct Anna would have to watch more closely when she had more time and her brain was jumbled and jam packed with her own worries.

"Yea I mean you said I'd be safe so I will be safe… there like you said." Anna opened her mouth but nothing came out, she wasn't certain on how to react besides being shocked. The dragon seemed at peace with her words, not a single hint of doubt or worry subtly etching in her features. It created an awkward atmosphere that seemed to only affect Anna.

"Um? Okay then! Just let me change first." She and Ryu glanced down at her formal velvet emerald and black dress, definitely not the attire one would wear to ride a dragon.

As an afterthought halfway out the door she turned back to Ryu "Do you want to bring you a change of clothes just in case? Can't have you galavanting around campus in nude, even though some students would probably enjoy it." Giggling, Ryu nodded and followed her out the office.

Anna cursed herself, she thought of a change of clothes for Ryu, a change of clothes for herself, her speech book but not bringing goggles. The wind sharply pierced her eyes as Ryu raced on out of the capital.

"Just head west." She yelled over the gusts. When Ryu quizzically stared back at her she rose a brow forgetting about how uncomfortable this speed was.

"Seriously? You traveled the world and don't know which way North, south, east, west are?" She had seen Ryu try to cover up her embarrassment with a growl. It's when Ryu flipped upside down conflicting Anna between holding on to her bag or the dragon the laughing stopped.

"Okay! Okay! I'll show you! God, so sensitive." She jested and set to directing the dragon in the correct route.

Glancing around to ensure no one was peeking at her, Ryu finished buckling the pants she fished from Anna's satchel, tightening its strap around her shoulders.

Swallowing down the anxiety that wanted to smack her heart into a racing tempo she held her head high and shoulders squared as she jogged up the large stone steps towards the university.

It suited Harmon, the city was certainly not Arendelle, it was much younger, reminding Ryu of a sibling trying extra to impress their seniors, with its large buildings and busy streets. There was also a larger acculturation present in the city she found utterly charming. Where Arendelle was slower and quaint Harmon was still finding its footing despite its foundations already being in place.

The largest gross populations inhabiting the place were younger, or socialites, traders just opening shop hoping their new outlook on either clothes, or cuisine, even services could draw in the bright eyed and curious.

The building was breathtaking to say the least. The four-storey gate tower and the two-storey ranges either side of it both sported what she now recognized as the Arendelle coat of arms engraved on their fronts.

Inside Ryu had wished Arendelle was her birthplace so she may have had the right to say her allegiance to the patriotic flags and sigils.

Huffing, she entered through the large brass doors hoping her boots didn't stain the polished dark wooden floors.

The building was coated in history, art, and set pieces it accumulated over the years.

Walking past the administrative offices, Ryu hurried her steps, she had permission to browse around given by the queen herself who also informed her she didn't have to wait, the ceremony would be long and the after party would be even longer.

Something inside the buildings however had called upon Ryu to not dash into the air and find Elsa miles away in the forest, it wasn't the same ethereal summons that called her to the dragon temple but something much more abstract. Strong like curiosity but warmer than just a desire to investigate for inquisitive purposes.

Her nose was constantly sniffing up the smells of other people, equipment, and dust, gathering up an interesting concoction of what went on here.

Her wanderings led to the library, there she could only smell paper and older leathery tombs and for good reason. Bookcases projected out into the room, set at right angles to the walls which were also made of books. The elaborate plaster works spotted on the ceilings told stories which one could probably find here in written form. The room seemed to be used for lectures, seminars, and meetings.

Despite all the art and decor she had found, the most cherished discovery was the honorary sponsor's and Graduates wall. Ryu did her best to read the descriptions of people who, as written, had donated a considerable amount of assets and funds to the school.

Hands folded behind her back she leisurely strolled reading the golden plates underneath listing their accomplishments and names the large oil painted portraits on display.

Lord Tobias Peterssen I. Lord Tobias Peterssen II, huh there were two of them. Ulric Stroffen… King Eric Oldenburg Árnadalr.

The name caused a double take, and for careful consideration to be taken of the portrait. He was a handsome man, strikingly so. With a trimmed beard, a green and purple military suit embroidered with gold trimmings, adorned in medals and piercing teal eyes, despite his serious outward appearance Ryu could see the glimmer of mischief and playfulness his stoic appearance tried to hide. She had seen that expression before enough times to recognize it in a sea of faces.

Next to him was a woman, with a soft demeanor and glimmering gray eyes. She was like an ocean, both sky and water silver after a storm with mist connecting the two elements. Queen Rita Oldenburg Árnadalr.

Queen Else Oldenburg Árnadalr.

Ryu lingered on her a bit longer and found wisdom in her portrait, her brown hair and deep blue eyes as well as her name drew Ryu in closer for only a few moments before she moved on shaking her head.

Another pretty face.

Two portraits awaited along the line.

Ryu had seen their faces before in the castle. The resemblance and uncanny nature of it still unsettled her. She didn't know why perhaps because it felt like seeing a ghost. Seeing them still alive in their daughters today, she could imagine from both stories– and from the two women who told said stories– what they were like.

King Agnarr Oldenburg Árnadalr. Queen Iduna Árnadalr.

They were gorgeous and seemed to be quite the academics if their name plates were anything to go by.

It's just not fair.

It seemed the most attractive, smart, and alluring people decided to group up in Arendelle and have kids.

Speaking of…

Ryu laughed out loud disturbing the silence of the hall, she couldn't help it though as her eyes landed on Anna's cheeky smile, posing in the portrait.

Despite knowing what she already knew she still read.

Queen Anna Oldenburg Árnadalr. Graduate honorary student.

Ryu's pupils dilated. She didn't know Anna had graduated school. Come to think of it seemed to make perfect sense but didn't a queen have access to the best tutors around? Why did she feel the need to attend here?

Hurriedly she rushed to who she knew was next.

There she was, poised and graceful as always. It felt like such a waste of time for Ryu to lament on how beautiful and breathtaking she was. Ryu already knew how she was sitting with her hands folded in her lap out of frame. Her hair was in a style she had never seen before on her, an updo of some type, a braid wrapped intricately around a bun with a few strands in the front escaping.

Elsa Agnarrsdotter Oldenburg Árnadalr. What a fucking mouthful… Valedictorian…

Ryu hadn't the slightest idea of what that word meant, she'd have to ask Elsa later.

The pride she felt in seeing it was initially thought to be misplaced, Ryu felt a swell of emotions build in her chest. Elsa and Anna were so much more than what she could have ever thought, they were beyond her intellectually, in station, and physically.

For once Ryu considered human hierarchy without contempt or blasé immaturity.

She'd have to wallow later in her insecure angst being tugged out of it by a loud uproarious jubilation.

Following the noise led her to the answer of why the halls were so devoid of life, all the life had gathered together in the large theater facing a stage decorated with giant Arendelle flags draping the left and right. Between them stood a jittery and smiling Anna, proud in her dark green and gold velvet gown, head bearing the weight of the crown and all that came with it in an unshakable mettle.

"Wow, I just want to say– and you guys can agree with me as well right–" she stated behind her to a line of older individuals nodding. "What an honor it is to be back here and to see all of your faces again, older, wiser…and a lot more tired." She giggled, as did her audience.

"I see not just what you look like but the shining future of Arendelle, I see promises of the amazing feats you all will accomplish one day. Even if your futures aren't in Arendelle cause sadly I cannot keep you all to myself-" another round of laughter followed. To get a closer look Ryu snuck past the entrance, climbing a staircase wanting a vantage point. From there she could barely make out the faces of the students giving their complete attention to their monarch. One thing connected all of them despite the different colors, shapes and sizes that told of the individuality of each. Admiration, love, fealty, complete trust, these emotions danced in their starstruck eyes with determined fires Anna's words ignited.

"It would be cruel to deny other places in the world your brilliant minds. And uh oh hold on-" she opened her notebook and read some pages silently before looking up, folding her lips. "Okay I have to be honest I only wrote down some jokes, and the gist of what I wanted to say but it's alright we'll wing it. Like Eric did on his last test." The mumbles were taken in good humor. Ryu casted a glance to who she assumed was Eric scratching his nape and blushing.

"You have grown so much! My goodness, what are they feeding you! Can– I mean Helen can you come cook for me please. Thomas is about eight feet tall now! Seriously what happened." The familiarity and festive spirits were contagious, Ryu couldn't wipe the smile off of her face leaning back against the railing. This is not what she had imagined when she thought of royalty. The word invoked a vision of a ruler detached from their people and reality, sitting in a luxurious castle handing out orders and new laws.

"I have some requests though for all of you, while you're out there I want you to be the best you can be. Reach your full potential and then keep going above that. Make mistakes and learn from them. Know that no matter where your paths may take you– you have a home, and kingdom–" Anna's palm laid gently across her chest. "And a queen, who will be here for you always. Never forget where you came from. Never forget the salty breeze blowing through the fjord, the creaky ships as old board meets old board. I may be your queen but that role means I am here to serve you and all of those living in Arendelle. I will always be asking myself what else can I give this home. Our home." A new yearning came to be as Ryu listened.

Our home?

She wanted this. All of it. To not be alone, to have someone there looking out for her as she looked out for them. A promise made just by being born in the right place at the right time.

"Somewhere in my heart I feel I've not yet done enough and you may feel it too sometimes. It may feel lonely out there in the big world but you'll never be truly alone… " her chest hiccuped with emotion that mists her eyes. "Thank you. I look forward to spending time with all of you tonight."

The care given, like a mother saying farewell to her children, Anna engaged with any student coming up to strike a conversation. Listening intently to their plans as they ranted and raved on. She joked and drank with them as well as their parents and family.

It was evident she knew every single one and had memorized their names, holding each of their stories to her heart.

She took notice of one withdrawn girl approaching her, concern etched on her dainty features.

"Sarah? You okay?" She gently rubbed the girl's arm who nodded hurriedly. Ryu could see Anna's disbelief as she excused them away from the party held in the courtyard.

"What's going on?" Anna asked when they were finally alone. Ryu knew she should have left them be but couldn't tear herself away from the tender moment.

Sarah's lip trembled until she bursted into sobs. Anna cooed at her pulling her into a hug whispering kind words of comfort.

Her eyes widened at the student's next words. "My mother passed away two months ago."

"Oh Sarah I'm so sorry honey. How's your father? Your brother?" The girl shrugged. That tenderness, Ryu wanted it to be directed at her, but this girl was grieving it was ridiculous to even entertain being jealous of her.

"I know how painful it is, believe me but you'll make it. Take your time, I'll even ask Dean Smules to hold onto your student recommendation letter until you're ready okay?"

Ryu wasn't certain what those things were but from the girl's reaction it was a huge favor on Anna's part who seemed to be pulling some strings.

"I'm here for you as I said. If you need anything just come to Arendelle or write to me even if you just want to talk."

Ryu had seen and heard enough returning to the front of the courtyard where she and Anna parted.

She must have not suspected Ryu would stay around this long. Ryu heard a surprised "Oh" following the halted steps.

Looking over her shoulders she kept on throwing Anna off with her soft eyes the queen had only seen her give Elsa.

"I wasn't uh expecting you." Ryu pushed herself off of the lamp post approaching. "Yea-" Her tone suited the warm, breezy quiet night, again a sound Anna wasn't used to being directed at her. "I thought I'd stick around. Harmon is kinda nice."

Anna grinned at this. "It is." She admitted.

"How come you don't come here as often?" Leading them off campus Anna answered carefully. Ryu could tell the fact had saddened her, being as involved as she was with her people.

"Plus with time and everything I don't really get the chance to. I'd love it but it is difficult. And not just Harmon but other towns and cities as well across Arendelle."

Anna didn't quite catch what Ryu had said when she was done speaking, or she couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"I'm sorry what?" Ryu shrugged casually. "I could give you rides there and here. It'd be much easier and you could be back before dark and see everyone."

Anna stopped walking facing her directly searching for any signs of teasing or jests.

"Are you sure?"

"Anna… your people need their female king." The resolute way Ryu spoke touched places in Anna's heart the dragon had never reached prior.

Wait, female king? Nevertheless she was endeared to the gesture.

"Plus you can show me around." Now it wasn't so one sided, she knew how much Ryu loved exploring, maybe this new development could even help some citizens become more at ease with their presence.

There was just one problem…

Anna jogged to catch up with her down the sidewalk.

"Won't you or Elsa miss each other?" Ryu rolled her eyes in good humor.

"Anna, we're going two or four hours away, not to another continent." She knew the distance but also did not want to mention how attached at the hip they seemed to be with each other.

"Oh right! Thanks…" Ryu nodded, staying quiet. "… before we go, do you wanna get some ice cream? maybe have a tour?"

Ryu held up her arms frowning. "I-I don't have any money."

Rolling her eyes, Anna tugged her arm to follow.

"Come on you."

Anna enjoyed this, the quiet moments between them were no longer tense or filled with a bunch of unsaid words. It no longer separated them but instead drew them closer in.

"I guess that makes sense, you're the queen." Anna paused from taking another spoonful of ice cream, she wasn't certain if the sound of trickling water at the fountain was playing tricks on her ears or if she really did hear it that way.

"Wait what did you say?" Ryu must have noticed as well cause she quickly corrected herself looking away.

"Female king."

Anna giggled that was all the confirmation she needed. "You say queen funny."

"No I don't!" Ryu exclaimed, looking like a pissy cat.

"Awww don't be grumpy!"

"I'm not grumpy." Ryu growled, taking forceful spoonfuls of the ice cream. Anna enjoyed seeing her try it for the first time so much so she began crafting a list of other delicious foods she'd introduce to her.

"Say it again."

"No I don't think I will."

"How did I not notice before how you say it?" She questioned staring off into the cobblestone street.

"Queen…" Setting her spoon down she held a hand up to her ear. Ryu absolutely loathed her at this moment, very tempted to splash her with the water on the other side of them.

"Sorry, couldn't hear you."

"Queen!" Anna released her laughter, slapping her knee, she nearly slipped backwards into the fountain but that did not quiet her down.

"You know instead of mocking me you could teach me how to say it." Ryu whined.

"Sorry periwinkle-" she wiped at the tears forming in her eyes. "-but I don't think that's a pronunciation problem, I think you just sound like that."

"Hahah." She mocked sardonically.

"Oh don't be a grumpy Gus." She cooed even scratching underneath the dragon's chin but her wrist was slapped away audibly.

"You know I'm your ride home right?"

"And?"

"I will drop you out of the sky." Ryu's voice darkened considerably and it would have been threatening to anyone who didn't know her but Anna just smiled.

"I know you won't."

"How?"

"Cause you'd get bored on the way home without me."

Ryu squinted at her, still measuring the pros and cons. "I'm tempted."

"Sure whatever ya grumpysaurus, let's go give you that tour."

"What!"

Harmon being relatively bigger and much more diverse than Arendelle Anna would have felt unsafe walking through the streets with the higher crime rates but she had a whole dragon with her who even though was distracted Ryu still eyed every stranger daring them to attempt something.

"So do you have any other family in Arendelle?" Ryu inquired.

"Yea… they live south of Arendelle quite a ways."

"Huh-" Ryu quipped. "You guys never spoke about them." Anna cringed, wringing her fingers together.

"They…" How could she word this? "Our relationship is strained, they're related to us on my father's side so…"

She glanced at Ryu's expectant eyes, goading her on to continue.

Anna grunted, relenting. "They kind of share the same views as my grandfather."

"The bastard king."

"Yea him, they're not the all roar and grrr and kill them!" Anna lowered her voice to gruff grumble. "Type but they I don't know I guess they… they are kinda against magic."

Ryu turned from her blinking back an expression of perplexed judgment."They moved to Arendelle."

"Heh yeah ironic, mostly because I became queen and they were hoping that I was normal? I suppose but when they found out I wasn't and connected to magic and also love it, they kept to themselves on their estate."

"Doing what?"

Tapping her chin Anna searched her memory for the gossip she heard of the eccentric side of her family. "Mm traveling, being socialites I guess it's kinda good they have relationships with other royals and famous people it kinda trickles down to us."

Ryu's next question made her face grow distant and pain swelling just beneath the surface of the turquoise pools in her eyes.

"Were they there when your parents died?"

She couldn't find her voice to answer, her face answered instead.

"What a bunch of cunts." Ryu said after a while drawing a sad laugh from Anna.

"To be fair they weren't even in the country."

"That doesn't matter, they still could have traveled here even if they missed the funeral to be here for you guys." Ryu's temper was growing, she looked prepared to go to their estate and burn it down but Anna had faith she exercised a lot more self control than that.

"It's okay."

Ryu's gaze softened from her previous growing anger. "Is it?"

"No but if I had to go through what I went through to get here with my family I would again. They're worth it." That they could agree on together thinking of the wonderful people in their lives.

"They are worth that and so much more." Ryu whispered. Anna nudged her gently, she didn't notice that she had moved closer to her when they stopped walking.

"Thanks for talking to me about this. I don't mean to be a downer."

"You're not a downer, not every conversation can be lighthearted that would get annoying." They both imagined a few specific people who matched said description.

"I have my family, they listen but I don't wanna burden them." Ryu's hand found its way to her forearm, gripping it. It was a firm and steady, hot touch almost like Elsa's but the complete opposite. Where Elsa's cold touch numbed away the pain for a little while so one could make sense of their thoughts without the strong crippling emotions in the way, Ryu's brought those emotions forthright and made one forget about the thoughts and just feel.

"I bet you aren't, that's what family's for Anna." That had to have come from experience, the knowing way she said it with unfaltering confidence. Catching herself she nervously chuckled and pulled away.

"At least that's what they seem like they're for. What's it like having a sister?" The question eased out the tension from Anna's shoulders with Elsa's pretty face taking up her vision.

"It's like– if you do have a good relationship with them, then it's like having a very very very close best friend. Sometimes you'll fight and argue but in the end they will always be there for you no matter what, no matter how badly you mess up, and love you whole. They always have your back."

Ryu's wistful eyes, distant, and longing tried to imagine it. She looked up at the sky, having that seemed as much as a possibility as flying to the stars. "That sounds… wonderful."

"It is. Did you ever know your parents or anyone related to you?"

No.

Regret took over the comfort Anna had settled into from the previous question witnessing the way Ryu's eyes slitted.

"They were gone long before I hatched?"

"What about the Mikotos they seem like… awful?" Ryu chuckled at Anna's tone.

"Not all of them. I had my brother Sussanoo, who used to be my brother."

"How come he isn't anymore?" She shouldn't have pried, she knew, but she wanted answers, needed a reason for how a creature like Ryu could end up so lonely and callous.

"Because I killed his father and real brother, Izanagi-no-Mikoto, and Tsukuyomi Mikoto."

Anna paled. Ryu could hear her swallow. She was aware of how Anna felt, disgusted, shocked maybe.

"Why…"

There was no use in hiding it anymore.

"Why?" Anna repeated imploringly.

Refusing to look at her, Ryu continued down the path of honesty.

"I was a coward." The statement was met with a challenge. "That's not an answer."

Making a quiet noise in her throat, Ryu surrendered everything.

"When I would train I was forbidden to use my fire unless instructed. It was weak but still something at least. I worked very hard to please Lord Mikoto who wanted me to be the defender of the household. Eventually taking me to war when I was big enough. And uhhh- one night I received a letter from him– but it wasn't from him I learned– to practice my fire. So I did, and the house caught flames. I was clumsy and stupid and he died in his office. The door must have jammed because no one could get in or out."

She wished she could have read Anna's expression, she couldn't even guess what mixture of emotions were making it.

"After Lord Mikoto died, things… changed. Lady Mikoto took over. I was arrested and kept in a cell for a long time. Sussanoo would visit me." She smiled at the memory. The treats he'd bring her facing whatever punishment awaiting him if he was caught.

"My fate was decided, I was too dangerous to be kept around but I was meant to bring the family name further, so they taught me how but I choked."

"How were you supposed to do that?"

"I was supposed to grow and eventually go down to the temple beneath the palace and go through the Tamashī no karitori ceremony-" Anna tilted her head, when Ryu remembered it was Elsa taking lesson in her native tongue not Anna.

"Reaping of the souls-"

"That doesn't sound very good honestly." The name made her uncomfortable, the implications only alluding to anything far darker than what she could have imagined.

"It's when they collect my soul and use it to strengthen the family as did six others before me."

Ryu could see her slowly putting the pieces together. "But if they take your soul then…"

She touched her chest feeling her heartbeat, her breath. "I'd die in this body. Lady Mikoto and Tsukuyomi tried to complete the ceremony earlier than expected as punishment instead of waiting for me to be ready to harvest, realizing how dangerous I was. I tried to go through with it but couldn't." Her fists balled at her sides, the ground was her victim to be glared at. The weakness angered her.

When Anna tapped her shoulder she realized she had stopped speaking.

"There was an altercation…" To stop her lip from trembling Ryu clenched her jaw.

"I didn't mean to dig my claws so deep into his chest but I did… And Sussanoo, my boy, he saw and I ran. He forgave me for his father but could I really blame him for finding his breaking point." She saw the look on his again and again all those years he hunted her. The horror, the grief at what his sister had done to his family, a family she destroyed.

Anna felt as if her body was not her own anymore, she could feel the same emotions radiate off of Ryu as the ones that used to plague Elsa. Sorrow, regret, an anguish that created a sick and disturbed dish Ryu forced herself to choke down as self punishment.

"Periwinkle- '' Anna began slowly clutching the bridge of her nose between fingers "-that's not a punishment, that's murder, the fire was an accident and not even your fault, you were a child."

She didn't have the energy to argue. "Yea."

"Does Elsa know?"

"Not all of it."

"Well thanks for telling me."

"See I'm a better downer than you are." Ryu nudged Anna a bit harder than what she would have liked but Anna took no offense shoving her back.

The light returned back to her eyes when their walk had led them to the university again. Anna turned to Ryu, taking her hand.

"Come with me, I wanna show you something."

"Hey Anna?"

"Yea?"

"What do you think about humans?" Anna frowned, keeping her eyes trained on the city lights, waiting for her turn to use the telescope when Ryu was done.

"Humans? Which human?"

"All humans." Ryu pushed the device towards her, taking a seat on the railing along the roof.

"I think that humans are… that's actually really tough to say."

"How come?"

She sighed through her nostrils. "Humans are so different from each other."

"Well there's good and bad humans I guess."

Anna shook her head."I don't agree with that either. I think there are people who do some bad things and some good things maybe, and some people do more bad things than good–and vice versa–some are equal. It all depends but everyone is different, even twins." Anna replied. Her head was spinning from the word jumble that was her theory.

"Twins?"

"Yup! Two babies born at the same time can almost look the same and may even be very similar but they're different."

"Hm…You do a lot of good."

That wasn't news to her so much as it was puzzling coming from Ryu. How did she know? Anna thought she wouldn't have even noticed. "Heh I try to do the best thing for everyone."

"You're good at it. Some people are not."

"I guess it's kinda like gambling." Anna redirected hoping that Ryu hadn't noticed the flush overtaking her cheeks at her blunt and honest praise.

"Gambling?"

"Mhm; let's say someone has a coin, and they say if I flip it and it lands on this side you get all your money and mine and if it doesn't I win and get everything. You can take the chance and leave it up to fate or you can just not get more money."

"Or get a job." Anna chuckled.

"Yes that too, but humans are like gambling. Sometimes you'll get or meet one who does bad and sometimes you won't. It's just a chance you have to take sometimes."

"What about religious people?"

"Same concept applies. Really. I've met some religious people who are great and kind and it's not religion that made them that way. Really they're just good and use it to help others and spread kindness. And I've heard and seen some religious people who use it to control and manipulate. I don't think that religion can determine whether someone is going to do good or bad, and let's not even begin to mention how people can change for better or worse and those who are products of their environment. Like my ex."

"The one who tried to kill you and Erusa." It didn't sting as much as other memories, the most painful from the incident being frozen on the fjord.

"Yes, I guess my standards are low but at first I hated him and thought him a monster but then I heard about what went on in the southern Isle household and while his actions can't be excused I think it shed some light on why he was the way he was."

Anna sat down next to Ryu, the small platform they found to get a better look at what was going on up there was perfect to not be disturbed, she leaned back exhaling deeply prepping for a leisurely session of stargazing with her own eyes.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw Ryu scooch closer and mimic her sigh and reclining.

Grinning to herself Anna took her arm away from laying across her belly extending it out. Ryu popped her head noticing and naturally did the same exact thing except there was no one to the right of her.

"Hey?" The short call was answered with curious eyes." Wanna lay on my shoulder… you look a little uncomfortable."

"Oh uh well erm. Hm." It was a small noise but it was enough.

Carefully as if she were frightened to burden Anna with her own weight she laid up her side.

Anna sideways glanced at her.

"Put your arm down."

"Oh." Ryu retracted said arm, returning it back to her side. Tentatively that arm rested upon Anna's chest. She looked up to see if Anna reacted and when she made no protest Ryu sagged into the embrace.

"Comfy?"

"Mhm." Ryu nuzzled under her chin. Anna couldn't help but feel like she had just signed a contract when she rested her head atop Ryu's. It felt so final, like a warm wax seal upon a letter bearing good news and sweet messagings.

And thinking about it, she kinda liked it. It was odd but she enjoyed having someone younger ask her questions and seek guidance from her, even if that someone was hard headed. Her eyes scrunched closed with a grin when she heard Ryu begin to purr a sound she only thought Elsa could bring from her.

"Anna?"

"Yes Periwinkle?"

"If you could have sex with any fruit, which would it be?"

"Oh my god!" Anna was completely scandalized, red cheeks and all. "... Probably Oranges though."

It was happening… again.

Ryu braved one more glance at the despondent Elsa, she'd appreciate the beauty of how she looked right now if these pesky tribulations weren't in the way; flushed, chest rising and falling slowly yet deeply it would be an alluring sight if it had not been for Elsa's eyes.

So conflicted with layers upon layers of thought and emotions. Ryu's imagination had her envisioning small soldiers in them. The left eye holding one thought that opposed the right ready to meet in a bloody battle between Elsa's brows.

Exhaling heavily she sat up from the couch and began buttoning upon her linen shirt tucking it back into her pants. It wasn't a habit but more so an insurance that Elsa wouldn't entrap her into another intimate embrace driving her to near insanity with want– just to pull away and look as if someone had torn her heart into two slices saying she'd have to pick one or the other.

If Elsa glanced at her she wouldn't have noticed. She tried and still was trying to be understanding of Elsa's inner conflicts when it came to the intimate side of their relationship but it'd be a lie to say that it wasn't frustrating to no end. Needing now more often to constantly remind herself that it was enough– what Elsa had gifted her, more than enough, more than what she deserved in the first place and she'd take it and eat it up be damn grateful that someone like Elsa would even think of dirtying their hands just to touch her.

Still… seeing Elsa– smelling that wonderful aroma wafting off of her person, feeling her, it was enough to drive someone mad with want. And it had. The way Elsa rubbed her stomach and scratched the nape of her neck, the pool of desire swirled in her lower belly and groin, her brain clouded with her vision going fuzzy blocking out the surroundings except for Elsa's visage.

She felt vulnerable and exposed with her scales softened in places she hadn't cared to admit.

Resting clenched fists on her knees Ryu nodded while tonguing her cheek. "That was good–" she nodded, hating how weak and quiet her tone was. She wanted it to come out confident and assured. "Thank you." With that said she rose up from the couch and had been intending to go hide somewhere in the forest. Elsa's small broken timbre froze her hand to the doorknob.

"Ryu-chan."

"Yes Erusa?" Looking over her shoulder she saw Elsa wringing her fingers in that familiar way she'd always done when nervous or unsure.

"I'm sorry."

"There's nothing to apologize for Erusa-chan."

"Yes there is! I- I don't know what's wrong with me I- I have all these doubts and worries that really make no sense and-" well they did make sense to Elsa she'd been overthinking them, rewiring, and collaborating to find the source using so many excuses on the surface because in reality she knew. She knew what the problem was and it disgusted her, she thought it could be ignored but like a terminal disease it spread oozing into her every thought and action.

"I know." Elsa's head snapped up at the pained tremble of Ryu's throat.

Oh god no.

Elsa wouldn't ever forgive herself if she'd let Ryu continue thinking that her doubts and worries were a fault of her own. The self deprecating expression and shame surfacing upon her pretty features when it was Elsa who was the depraved anomaly in this situation with Ryu's own self esteem and body suffering.

"It's not you, it's me." Elsa stated bluntly she had to look away out the window.

She didn't stop the ice climbing up the walls like vines or various patterns flowering on any opaque surface. She needed an outlet for this storm forming inside mixed with messy unholy emotions.

"Erusa, what do you mean? Look I get it, I know it's hard for you to be with me-" Elsa swallowed hard. It wasn't difficult at all; the issue was that it was so easy, it'd be so easy to give into these decisions and actions that could lead them down a dangerous path, decisions that could scar or scare her precious dragon. All her life people had taken from Ryu too much and not giving in return, Elsa refused to be like that. But how could she not when all she wanted was Ryu, emotionally, mentally, physically. It was her fears coming to fruition, the fear of greedily taking all that Ryu had to give.

"Did you ever think that maybe it's not you taking but giving." Elsa remained still as a statue as the realization that she had just spoken her thoughts aloud settled slowly to the ground like dust.

"What?"

"Erusa I have never been wanted… ever. To make me feel that way, desired, that's such a gift I never thought I'd have. I want to give you the same. I want you to know that I want you in all ways, and I'll accept anything you're willing to give me happily, even if it's just a slither of your heart. A tiny space in there; just give me a rag and a corner and I'll be happy." She did sound happy, completely jovial.

I'll give you so much more than that, you deserve so much more.

"... It'd be more than what I deserve. People don't always get what they deserve anyways."

"I don't want to scare you. I don't want to hurt you."

"How do you know it will scare or hurt me? As I've said I've never been wanted before so how do you know I won't like it?"

"What if I take too much?"

"Well that's easy, you won't have to take anything. I'm giving it to you."

Pushing Elsa was thrilling as it was terrifying. Ryu wasn't afraid per-say… alright she was a little nervous. Elsa could be dramatic at times especially when it came to her inner turmoil but Ryu had learned to sometimes take her word for it. That didn't stop her scales from bristling in excitement subtly sensing the room under fracturing while exuding its best efforts of composure, every little crack was clenched tight to prevent movement, sort of like Elsa's self control. Her magic was as impatient and tight as her locked rigid posture. The temperature had dropped considerably.

So of course the most sensible thing to do would be to push her further.

"I'm giving myself to you, Erusa. Please show me how you feel, I think that's a fair exchange no? That's what we promised, remember?"

"If I do-"

"Erusa-" Ryu interrupted with a tone she didn't often use, especially with Elsa. "You make me horny as hell. I promise though if you scare or hurt me I'll tell you, I have before and will again. Just if you want to… show me."

Clenching her fist, she took in stuttering air, having forgotten to refill her lungs as Ryu spoke. The quiet winds of the room that were caused by snow, not Gale, stopped in a haunting manner. Ryu frowned as the silence stretched on far longer than what she would have hoped. Her fingers worried their neighbors with rubbing and unable to sit still.

When Elsa turned around Ryu couldn't recognize her eyes for a moment. Still sapphire but closely resembling the yellow glint of a lion or wolf.

"You promised." Ryu couldn't respond to that tone Elsa had used, she had never heard it before. Smooth and a few octaves lower, less breathy and sure. Even if she had spoken, the lump in her throat would have only muffled her words. It was so tantalizing, this powerful woman made of flesh and bone infused with ice.

When Elsa was upon her the spirit's eyes softened for a fraction of a second when she closed them to suck in air, grounding herself down back to earth.

"You want this?" Her trembling hand cupped Ryu's cheek and was nuzzled when her purr began. "Hai. If you do as well." Ryu breathed into the palm. It was taken away in favor of gripping the hem of Ryu's pants, yanking their bodies flush together. Elsa unashamedly buried her nose into her half tied up short locks capturing her scent in her nose, letting it fill her chest, followed by a sultry whisper that could melt the ice caps of the entire country.

"I'm gonna make you feel so good baby."

It wasn't the first time, Ryu had caught it once before- that word- and thought too much of it when Elsa slipped, but now she wished she'd pay attention instead of being stuck in her head most of the time. She had no idea, coming from anyone else, Ryu would have found some way to make them regret it but from Elsa, she shivered in her arms.

Adept fingers brought her face up from its sanctuary in Elsa's breasts.

She moaned when their lips met ever so softly, a hungry, grateful trill vibrated up from Ryu's mouth entering Elsa's who answered in her own sweet groan.

Elsa's hands moved unapologetically, roaming from Ryu's shoulders, to her, back to her buttocks. Her fingers pressed in odd ways as if wanting to map out her form and in return leave little indents as parting gifts.

Instead of hesitancy Elsa's tongue pushed past her lips before she had even opened her mouth to the kiss, breeching her mouth no longer shy of her fangs, the way it rolled and slid over any surface and depth it could reach Ryu knew Elsa was tasting her and maybe liked it with the way she held a strong grip piercing into her hip as the other hand pushed her head against Elsa's. Her adjacent foot was supporting her by keeping her toes on the floor which sometimes lifted from Elsa completely pressing her to the door.

Ryu was confused how Elsa's lips, which she had known to be soft and plump, could be a force she couldn't challenge, teasing Ryu to open her mouth wider for her. If Elsa pulled away and said 'That's it.' Ryu wouldn't doubt any of her desires ever again from this kiss alone.

After getting somewhat of a fill, Elsa's tongue tentatively invited Ryu's to dance along showing it the way into the winter nymph's mouth. They could both appreciate the sweet mixture of Elsa's freezing tongue and Ryu's scorching one, taking their opposites and seeing what feelings they aroused in the entanglement.

Elsa shushed the growl bubbling in Ryu's throat at the sensation of her licking inside the dragon's mouth pulling away slightly.

"Yes, baby. Just like that." Elsa's harsh hushed tone tickled Ryu's sensitive ears when she hiked up the dragon's leg hooking it around her thigh if only to press their lower bodies together further. Something Elsa never did previously. Ryu couldn't help but smile into her temple as her lips desperately tried to kiss any inch of skin her shirt allowed while being pulled down by grasping hands.

I'm a genius.

Elsa let out a frustrated grunt and switched positions pushing Ryu towards the couch, for once Ryu felt like she was playing with fire that was Elsa's passions, so warm and bright yet burned her, something she was not used to by any means, it made her wonder how much was Elsa keeping pent up?

A miscalculated shove had her landing on her ass instead of the cushions but this didn't affect Elsa the slightest. She half expected the woman to yank her up onto the couch but instead Elsa lowered herself reconnecting their lips gripping Ryu's lower one in-between her teeth gently to suckle upon it.

It wasn't a pose that was easy to get her into but Elsa had no problem ushering Ryu onto her back ignoring her little growls while maneuvering herself with a few careful pushes between her legs.

Hoisting Ryu up into her lap Elsa didn't stop the moan, instead muffling it with a harsh bite to her shoulder. The cry out of pleasure her dragon gave drew her teeth into the soft scales harder.

All inhibitions had packed their luggage and went on holiday to some obscure country Elsa didn't know the name of. Between Ryu's deliciously sweet reactions, and her passing the precipice of stopping there was no use fighting it now and that was unbelievably freeing. A confidence reverberated throughout Elsa's body dwindling down to her core.

When her fingers moved to the sash keeping Ryu's trousers up they paused, squeezing those hips which jogged up into her embrace eager to catch some semblance of friction from wherever Elsa offered.

Pushing her bangs from her face, Elsa moved back regarding her bothered, wide eyed dragon. The look she gave was utterly heartbreaking and so… tempting.

She was pleased with the amount of restraint it took to stop, now confirming that if the time came she was able to, instead of pressing on and ravaging Ryu's body like an animal.

Elsa almost felt bad for drawing the moment out for as long as she did, soaking up how vulnerable and sweet Ryu looked in her lap.

Almost. Knowing what was to come a smirk teased at Elsa's lips. Not here, she decided to give Ryu the best she could offer and that definitely wouldn't take place on her office carpet. That just wouldn't do.

"That was nice." Her usual saying after a tryst when she'd be left unsatisfied and pinning. Elsa leaned down kissing her ear sweetly. "It's only going to get better." She hoped, but the outward charade of confidence soared at Ryu's confused head tilt.

Standing Elsa tried dragging her to her feet, but to Ryu's immense embarrassment her knees buckled sending her back to the ground.

Ryu began laughing at the very audacity her body had to behave this way right now shaking her head.

"Oh baby..." Elsa cooed sympathetically, giggling. Instead of taking it as an insult– Ryu's complete surprise when Elsa managed to scoop her up and carry her upstairs, occasionally planting a soft kiss on her neck or cheek- Elsa was happy she could surprise her.

Once in her bedroom she let Ryu down. Despite being alone in the house Elsa locked the door not taking any chances for a disturbance and drew the blue and white flowing curtains, there'd be no risque shows for the moon tonight. Turning around she locked gazes with the rumpled heavy breathing Ryu.

Her hooded eyes which contained unfettered desire were nothing short of pleased with Elsa's actions and extra security measures.

Sitting at the edge of the bed she beckoned her closer to standing before Elsa looking down. She danced her fingers up her stomach but instead of dwelling there they went to the collar of her shirt pulling her down.

"Stop."

The sharp order had Ryu ceasing her own fingers from unbuttoning. "I'm going to do that, I'm going to unwrap you like the gift you are." The protest towards the sentiment tried to take over Ryu's aroused mind but she couldn't, she couldn't challenge the definitive brow that rose on Elsa's face.

"I hope you kept the 're still holding back… " pressing her face into Ryu's stomach Elsa took careful inhales, breathing her in as if she'd never get the chance to again, feeling the way her abdomen rose and lowered.

She nodded.

"But-" she said into her. "Not because I'm afraid, We still have to go slow- that- I truly want. I also want this to be about you, all about you. I want you to not just know how I see you but feel it-" Ryu stared down at her continuing to play with her loose hair grinning at her.

"Silly, how can I feel that if you hinder yourself-" she knelt down putting them at eye level. "I want to know all of you, the good and the dark, the wonderful and terrifying things as well. I need you to let me see and with that you'll be able to have all of me."

Ryu half expected her to pull away and not begin the agonizingly slow process of unbuttoning her linen shirt trailing the unwrapping with a single finger.

When the shirt was pushed off her shoulders Elsa exhaled so thoroughly at the sight of her it sounded as if she had been holding it in since they first met.

Feeling a bit self- conscious, Ryu glanced down at her unimpressive chest. She suspected Elsa may like it, the scales that speckled the swell of her breast shimmered when the light hit them at the right time–and Elsa liked sparkly things so…

While they fascinated her, what truly captivated the spirit was their shape and natural appearance.

Ryu's body tingled with another arsenal of arousal when Elsa spoke and touched her with slender cold hands that scorched her skin. Soon she was in her lap pressing her red face into Elsa's neck as she purred appreciatively

"Anato wu totemo utsukushīdesu, beibī."

Not being able to resist Ryu bopped Elsa's nose, correcting her. "Anata waErusa."

"Of course." Elsa murmured, kissing her temple.

The experimental squeezing and pinching deformed the mounds held in her palms. Elsa craned her neck so she could see them over Ryu's shoulder. They were wonderful, so warm, and soft fitting perfectly in Elsa's hungry palms.

She had to twist the girl around and replace her fingers with her mouth planting tentative kisses to Ryu's small nipples before devouring them pushing more between her teeth suckling her dragon in.

"Ah!" Ryu yelped, gripping Elsa's hair tightly. Hissing through her teeth, a growl shook her words. "Ha ni kiwotsukero Erusa."

"Sorry." Elsa mumbled around her mouthful- then remembered her manners- it was rude to speak with a mouth full- releasing Ryu she offered an apologetic kiss. "Sorry."

"You're not going to fit the whole thing in your mouth." She heard Ryu giggle. Elsa had to remind herself that she could always come back to the breasts and indulge again but now it was time for her to take care of her precious dragon.

Her hands took less time undoing the sash of Ryu's dark blue pants. The aggression wasn't necessary; the clothing was just doing its job but at this moment Elsa was personally offended by the articles that kept her from Ryu's body.

Pushing her onto the bed she straddled Ryu's hips and tugged them off, throwing them onto the floor where they belonged.

Ryu smirked at her eagerness but there was no room in Elsa's one track mind for shame. Her face was concentrated and inhibited, her eyes fiercely lustful as they roamed over the dragon's body landing on the cloven space between her legs.

Elsa didn't know what to expect but she hadn't been disappointed and her inquisitiveness was spiking.

After minutes of sitting on her knees and staring with hooded eyes Ryu sat up on her elbows smirking at Elsa after drinking in the magnificent sight that she was. "Nothing you haven't seen before."

Elsa glanced at her then back down. It was. She had never seen the thin slit which unlike other parts of Ryu was completely covered in pinkish white beaded scales protecting the inner parts of the dragoness. A clear fluid coated the entrance calling Elsa like amber liquid in a goblet.

Elsa wondered what it would be like in there. She was no stranger to the parts of a woman, having read her fair share of anatomy books, and also attending school, she knew what felt good for some, surely but she wished she had done more research beforehand.

How would she though? Her books only went so far and definitely did not cover dragon anatomy, the only ones she'd get that information from were…

Elsa gulped. She needed to be more present.

Resting her palm on Ryu's now twitching abdomen she drew slow teasing swoops across her scales and skin. Ryu chirped, lurching forward, closing her eyes.

Elsa tested both their patience and resolve, drawing out the foreplay for as long as she could.

"I want to touch you too, please." Elsa smiled sadly at the request, grazing a thumb across Ryu's lips. "Soon, but right now I just want to focus on you." To ease the disappointment she kissed her forehead shivering when Ryu bucked upward.

"Erusa please?"

"Are you ready for me baby?" Ryu nodded. "I've been ready for you!" To make her point Ryu rolled her hips again against Elsa's.

Pulling back she needed to see what she was doing and feed this damned thirst for the unknown. With two fingers she ran them slowly down the entrance of Ryu's cloven and back up again. It twitched and contracted as her scales usually did under Elsa's touch. Her gasps startled Elsa but she didn't pull away from the warmth.

"You're so lovely." Now was the perfect time to show Ryu how much Elsa had been practicing, she'd speak to her languages she knew best hoping that her pronunciations were not subpar or misspoken.

"Elsa please!" Ryu replied, switching to Japanese as well. Her voice was ragged, a breathy mewl of aching.

"I know baby, I know." A cold slender finger slid past Ryu's entrance with ease pausing when the girl stiffened beneath Elsa who bit her lip.

"Good god." Elsa moaned.

It was scorching inside, moist and clenching with an almost unbelievable grip. Elsa sucked in air so fast it whistled. To appease her, her right hand rubbed up from her thigh to her tummy comfortingly petting her. Every now and then going further to squeeze and massage her breast and tug her nipples.

Elsa loved her belly, the swell it had in her lower abdomen, its softness so pleasant to squeeze and lay on just like the other parts of Ryu that made her a woman. Elsa couldn't stop but appreciate and adore them. So lovely were the soft scales to just hold against herself each part curving into the next.

After a few minutes of feeling out the wet heat Elsa languidly dragged her finger out loving the way Ryu gripped it to stop the departure and thrusted it back inside. Loving the way the motion made her breast sway. Loving the obscene moist noises it created. And absolutely loving the smell of her. So much so Elsa wished, akin to the scent glands contained in her jaw, that it was stronger, all she could detect was a light doughy scent and smoke. She strained her nostrils to pick up more wanting to breathe it into her lungs.

It made sense to her when she mulled the reasoning around her brain. Aside from the day on her, and her glands, Ryu did not have much of a smell no matter what form she took. There were always small hints of things beneath the surface but those remained faint.

When Elsa rose up her torso she covered Ryu's lips with her own licking into her mouth, timing her tongue's penetration with her finger down below.

Changing angles before entering, Ryu squealed into her mouth digging her nails into Elsa's back. Alarmed Elsa looked down at her not detecting any signs of pain but rather blown out, starstruck eyes.

Experimentally Elsa repeated the motion receiving a less surprised but equally enthusiastic response. Elsa's mind began comparing her to the average woman, she had seen no clitoris on Ryu, only softened scales which granted her access. This textured nub inside– "Erusa!"– right after Elsa entered, must have been it.

Elsa grinned broadly, kissing Ryu's jawline. "You like that baby?" Ryu nodded looking downright feral. She was fighting something behind her eyes barely keeping a grasp on control. Her body was taunt pushing itself into Elsa's.

She must have lost cause when Elsa continued the treatment holding Ryu tight she rushed forward and sank her fangs into her delicate shoulder.

Elsa yelped at the stinging sensation spreading throughout her shoulder. Ryu had never bitten her hard enough to pierce skin. It vibrated from a long drawn out yowl that echoed in her throat ending in chattering trills that definitely were not human.

She continued trilling, keeping Elsa still as a statue sometimes shivering and clenching.

Elsa felt a new cascade of fresh arousal coating her undergarments from the new and erotic excitement. When her senses came back to her she maneuvered her finger around still trapped inside her dragon telling her how wonderful she was while she calmed.

When Ryu released her after a while the look on her face of complete blissful love she used those same affections to lick at the punctures in Elsa's shoulders.

She looked up, shoving her face into Elsa's chest purring loudly. "Are you alright?" It was simultaneous.

They both looked at each before giggling girlishly at the coincidence.

"I'm alright." Elsa kissed her deeply, looping an arm around her waist to pull her tightly against her.

"So-" Ryu began. "I guess you're attracted to me?" Rolling her eyes Elsa didn't know if Ryu was jesting or not. A part of her hoped she wasn't just so Elsa could prove again and again how much amativeness she actually saw in the girl.

Ryu's giggles at the peppering kisses littering her neck, cheeks and lips made Elsa's heart sing.

"Get some rest." Elsa commanded softly shifting some messy tresses from her face. "I don't sleep at night." Ryu ended with a yawn showing off those gorgeous fangs which were just in Elsa's neck.

"You look exhausted. Ryu? Why did you bite me?"

"I don't know..." She looked frightened, frightened of her own self. Elsa drew small circles on her back, tugging from the dark places her psyche wanted to take her. "Sorry–" Ryu winced. "Is it bad?" Very guilt ridden she sat up examining Elsa's neck, spotting the two tiny holes there, there was no blood, or sign of irritation still she waited for Elsa to respond.

"It stung a bit but-" Elsa rolled them over till Ryu rested atop her, she whispered into her ear teasingly. "I liked it."

Ryu scrunched her face. "You're weird." Elsa bubbled in laughter popping her fingers into her mouth, halting conversation to taste the dragon on herself.

She had expected she'd taste the same way she smelt, she wanted more wishing her palate was more refined than it was.

"And you are delicious." Ryu propped her head up, and licked her own wrist grunting. She wouldn't write home about it. Biting her lip she meekly shrugged glancing up at Elsa.

"Thank you for uh, making me feel that way, no one had ever done that before. I didn't even think that it was possible for me."

"Well it is Ryu, you don't have to thank me ever for showing you affection. I will try my hardest to show you what I see in you but I really could use some help with you meeting me halfway." Ryu nodded, folding her lips.

"I'd also like to schedule this again with you-" Elsa frowned for a moment, pondering. Was it strange to schedule intercourse? Even if it was, there were many things she needed to research before it happened again. She needed information, specifically about Ryu's body, she had only found what she assumed to be a clitoris by accident. That certainly wouldn't do.

"Perhaps tomorrow night?" She offered, Ryu considered this before speaking up casually.

"I can't tomorrow I have plans with Erusa." Elsa nodded genuinely.

"Oh well then perhaps the next-" Wait a minute...

Ryu's cheeky grin gave her away. Elsa blushed not knowing how she could have possibly fallen for that. When she regarded Ryu Elsa's stare became hooded and yearnful. She noticed how her eyes were still incredibly dilated and how she clung as close as possible to Elsa's torso burrowing under the blanket, being a nesting creature afterall. To Elsa, Ryu with her flushed cheek, messy hair, and timidity that would rival a porcupine, was utterly darling and she wasn't quite done admiring and touching her yet.

Elsa pulled back the blanket "Ryu-chan?" She called softly. After some squirming she faced Elsa trying to sound annoyed but her face gave away she was anything but. "What!" Elsa hoisted her up on the pillows. "Get back here, I want to cuddle." Even with her grumbling complaints Ryu still snuggled close embedding the tips of her small claws into Elsa's sides making her wince slightly everytime she flexed her fingers.

After thirty minutes Ryu was just on the cusp of dozing off with Elsa watching her. Before she fell asleep she needed to tell her something.

"I'm going to tell Anna tomorrow. About us." She loved saying it no matter the context.

There's an us.

"Hm-" Ryu grunted pawing at her face to soothe an itch. "Want me to come with you?" Elsa thought of the drowsy offer which led to her thinking of when Anna had told her about Kristoff. She would have waited but far too much had happened between her and Ryu that made hesitation no longer an option.

"No, that's okay. I'll let you know how it goes." Ryu grunted acknowledgement getting closer. Elsa swallowed the lump forming in her throat as emotions tried to overcome her from gazing at Ryu.

Her draconic appearance threw many off, her eyes were large and startling in both shape and color, her face always holding a defiant wild intensity. To Elsa however, she was adorable. Beautiful. Precious. Alluring.

She hadn't seen it coming. Her mind wandered to everything that led them to this moment as she kissed her throat tenderly, nuzzling her face.

Hoping that her whispers would seep into Ryu's sleeping mind and cement in her dreams lasting even after morning from being imprinted on her soul. "I'm going to make you happy, so happy. You're going to be safe and loved–" she combed her fingers through Ryu's hair. "With me."

She couldn't for the life of her think of anything that alluded to this. Did that mean it was fate?

No.

How did this happen then!

Somehow to her that was less of a romantic notion that she and Ryu were betrothed together by some unknown archaic force instead of it being their own volition, their own wants and choices which were each other.

Though now staring down at her dragon, it seemed impossible to not have ended here with her.

Just simply impossible.

Fun fact Baby became a term of endearment though not popular in the 1400s and 1500s records show. Don't quote me on that.
