AN: Warning mentions of sexual repulsion will leave an asterisk where it begins.
This is a long ass chapter I apologize I try to not make them so long by cutting them but even then cutting it feels unnatural at some point.

Ice creaked more often than before echoing throughout the mountain range scaring away any life that dared tried to make this place their home.
Its noises frequented the cold, growing sonorous, groaning in pain when the force inside fought against its hold more often. A Drum that was beat mercilessly.
Beneath the ice, a luminous yellow eye opened shining through. It glanced this and that way vision obscured by the frozen prison. It took one vigorous movement to fracture the surface. The cracks traveled splintering into others, joining forces to release the Jade held by winter.
One last push had the ice chunks shattering, quietly sending the sizable pieces to the restless waters below. A shrill screech tore through the skies, piercing clouds. It was not a roar of victory at being freed, it was a wail of agony. The yokai regretted coming back, it could have stayed in the ice forever dormant. Its prison could have been its salvation. And the one who casted them there unknowingly could be deemed its messiah.
It hated what it had to do, despised what was demanded of it. When receiving the edict they seemed facile at first. Carrying them out however would surely drive the creature further down into insanity. Being forced to murder its own kin alongside brethren who probably also shared its thoughts.
No, it wouldn't track the dragon. If it unfortunately came across the quarry then yes but for now it could find another way to occupy its time, to seem busy. Maybe even find a being who could end this tormenting existence.
Quaking the atrophied limbs the beast shook its massive body dislodging any caked snow and frost. Spreading its wings it took flight searching for a new target, praying it did not cross paths with its mission being overtaken by the orders it was released with.
"I can do this– I can do this– I can do this-" Holding up her shaking fists Elsa would have found humor at the irony of it had her nerves not been doing their best impressions of a circus, complete with trapezing acrobatics and decidingly placing Elsa in the act of tight roping. Her lungs seized when her arm raised again, her chest still moved as if she still had the ability to take in air.
"I can do this… "
So many possibilities, so many scenarios that unfolded before her wide eyes overwhelmed any semblances of bravery and courage she had left. Even her blood tried to escape the situation, thrashing and pouring recklessly through her veins in attempts to find an opening to pour out of, wrathful tidal waves rushing in her eardrums drowning out her hearing.
"I-" What if Anna didn't approve?
"I-" What if she's disappointed in the Only person I've come to like in this way?
"I can do this?"
Fortunately there wouldn't be any servants present in the halls at this hour for an hour or two. If the clock was correct then Anna should be eating breakfast right now in her office.
What if she's disgusted with me? For so many reasons.
Anna will love me no matter what, but is that really fair? To use the love she has for me as a clemency for committing acts she finds repulsive?
Meticulously her mind picked and prodded every recollection she had of Anna encountering love that wasn't conforming to Orthodox standards. There were just a handful of times, be it a citizen getting married, an eccentric diplomat visiting from another nation or province, Elsa hadn't noticed Anna treating them any differently than everyone else.
Would she react differently if it were someone she shared blood with, rationality said no but anxiety said yes. One was louder than the other.
It wasn't as if Elsa could turn back now, she had already committed the deed and even if she hadn't there was an irrevocable nature to the feelings that swirled within and hurt to be denied. She knew they were dangerous, and would not, possibly ever be tolerated by the world but even without them she herself wouldn't be received by some either with what she was.
I don't need the world to accept me…
All she needed was her family, who loved her for who she was, what if this was the one thing they couldn't accept? Losing them would be…
"I can't do this." Her arm lowered, a flag of the defeated on the battlefield. Elsa's forehead thudded against the cold door. "Ryu, I'm so sorry. But I can't do this, I can't tell Anna about us." Guilt invited itself to relish in Elsa's torment, fear rejoiced at the quiver that overtook her body, anguish tasted her tears like a fine wine.
She'd never be able to hold Ryu the way she wanted to without hiding, she'd deny her so much due to a selfish fear of losing something Ryu never had in the first place. How could she explain this to her after this morning? After yesterday?
Elsa was going to be late if she were to make it to Anna before her daily duties got a hold of her. She needed to stop gazing at Ryu as she lay curled up, wondering what she was dreaming about, she needed to get up, get dressed and leave this room.
For once Elsa found it incredibly difficult to get out of bed this morning with Ryu's sweet warmth spilling over her and their bed. Dragging herself up regretfully Elsa prepped for the journey and day ahead of her.
Ryu growled and stirred, running her palms over her face at the press of Elsa's lip against her head, murmuring in her ear.
"Ohayō Gecko, I know I know. I won't wake you too much. I'm going to Arendelle now."
"Fur'wut?" The lethargic response had Elsa chuckling somewhere above her sitting on the edge of the bed. Ryu attempted to rouse herself up at the feeling of Elsa's presence hovering over her.
"To tell Anna about us, silly, remember?" Elsa said clearly amused at how cute the sleepy dragon was. "You don't have to get up my little one, you get some rest and I'll be back later tonight." Elsa was taking liberties now, getting away with such endearing words that Ryu normally would huff and bristle at.
"Tell Anna bout us?"
"I'd ask if you wished to accompany me but you're so sleepy after yesterday."
"Yesterday? Yep, have fun-" Ryu settled down until a sobering thought interrupted her dreams. "Is it a good idea to tell Anna and everything?"
Elsa frowned. "Ryu, I'm not going to keep you hidden like some dirty little secret. I have to tell Anna." Elsa hated the idea of ever doing that, she especially hated that it seemed this was exactly what Ryu had been expecting with how her eyes opened, trialing up to Elsa's face.
"Are you sure this is a good idea Erusa?" She croaked as Elsa affectionately pushed a loose curl behind her ear. "Ryu, I'm not hiding my affections for you. You don't deserve that."
"If you say so, Erusa." Before burrowing back down into the blankets Ryu kissed Elsa's lips sweetly.
"Sleep well Gecko. It'll be fine I promise." Elsa could never understand how anyone could sleep the morning away, but she wouldn't disturb Ryu anymore.
For once Elsa thought she could show Ryu she didn't have to hide anymore, that she could be all of herself and be accepted by the wonderful individuals in their lives. How was Elsa to teach this when she couldn't do it herself?
You can do it. A still voice said quietly. Eyes closed Elsa shook her head. It sounded odd almost as if it was muffled by something lodged in the throat.
"I can't." Elsa whimpered.
Yes you can. She'll understand, she loves you no matter what.
Elsa's chest inhaled deeply, Shaky, but it was a full pull of air nonetheless.
"I don't even know what I'll say?" It was official she was going insane.
Why don't you practice? Elsa swallowed the pained lump forming and sniffled unsuccessfully to clear her clogged nostrils. She thought it was a good idea. If she could just say the words aloud, alone, and her world as she knew it didn't end, if she could say the confession and still feel the love of her family around her then maybe she could dig up bravery to do so in front of Anna.
"A-Anna, I am…I care about Ryu– um as in more than a friend– and she likes me too. There's an us so… I hope you don't– I hope you don't find me disgusting or repulsive." Not a good start as far as Elsa was concerned.
Ice shards shot from her fingertips spreading across the already frosted door when slender warm fingers touched her own. Elsa gasped looking to the right of her.
Anna smiled tenderly resembling their mother. Elsa felt like a mess compared to Anna's radiant sunlike face with her tear stained one.
How trapped in her own head and tribulations had she not realized Anna, with a tray of strudels, had walked up behind her and even spoke while chewing on one?
"Want one?" Anna's motherly smile was replaced with her usual lopsided grin that was more pulchritude mixed with awkwardness.
"Um–" the more she rubbed Elsa's arm the more the ice and frost melted in the close vicinity along the walls and Anna's door. "Thank you." Anna nodded as they stood in an implicative silence.
"Can you get the door for me?" Anna asked, balancing the tray of food.
"Oh yes! Of course." Elsa's thoughts and theories all paused trembling, wondering who was right and which outcome would seal their fate.
Standing in the threshold Anna's eyes casted to the floor. Elsa could see her eyes working out whatever she wanted to do or say next, smiling small when she had decided.
"Wanna try again?" Elsa's brows furrowed at this. "Again?" Anna nodded.
"Want to try telling me again? Like pretend I didn't go to get the strudels Arnald made and you can tell me what you wanted to tell me." It was so sophomoric, so ridiculous but even more so appealing to Elsa. It was just what she needed to move forward with this conversation without freezing the entire second floor west wing.
Anna beamed at her little nod and nudged her head. "So just close the door and then knock okay?"
Elsa obliged as instructed wondering what her sister was up to, was she really just giving Elsa a second chance or did she want a redo to fully digest the news she had unintentionally came across?
Elsa chuckled at Anna's melodic 'Come innn' after her knuckles lightly tapped against the wood.
Opening it to spot Anna draped across her desk attempting with her best efforts to either look seductive or regal- "Oh Elsa! I wasn't expecting you. Is there something you need?" -Elsa couldn't decide but what she did know without a doubt was that she absolutely loved this girl beyond her comprehensive abilities.
She'd play along too clearing her throat she held herself a bit higher and stiff. "Queen Anna, I have come to inform you that Ryu and I have been engaged in a romantic relationship with each other, it-" Elsa's throat quivered as the charade melted away as she and Anna stared into each other's eyes. A part of her waiting for the love in Anna's gaze to dim even just slightly.
It didn't.
It only grew, lulling her into a security to be all that she was, all that was inside. Her octave barely could be called a whisper.
"It would be such an honor if you-my queen- would give your blessing."
Somehow it still caused spikes of anxiety albeit not as horrible as earlier. Anna blinked out of her facade sitting up and she hopped down and took her proper seating.
Elsa obeying the come hither finger from her sister created her own chair next to her.
Gripping her warm hands, which still had traces of pastry crumbs falling away, around Elsa's, Anna's grasp was so sure and strong how could it not drag Elsa out of her mind to the present moment.
Anna watched her fingers massage Elsa's, taking time to think of her words. "Elsa I love you. So much and just when I think that the love I have for you has reached an all time high it gets higher and hasn't stopped. Does Periwinkle make you happy?" Elsa nodded slowly looking up when a firm hold on her chin lifted her head.
"I want you happy, and if someone or something makes you happy I don't want you to feel as if you have to hide it. I don't want you to think that there's a single part of you I don't love." Anna smiled, giggling at the tears which misted both their eyes. Before wiping her own she grazed her thumb across Elsa's cheeks clearing hers away.
"I love all of you. Every bit of you, from-from your wonderful personality, to your little freckles." Elsa sang out giggles as Anna's finger tips poked lightly across her face. "To your wonderful mind which amazes me, to how ingenious you are at math and other complicated topics and how bad you are at charades to guess the picture-" Anna chuckled at a memory which arose.
How frustrated Elsa got when no one could guess what she was drawing, taking so long to draw all her answers in such magnificent detail not a single person could guess what she was making until twenty minutes in when she finished. Her little pout when they advised her to not create such elaborate creations, but she refused to create art which had no dimensions.
"How kind you are, how brave, smart, and silly you can be. If you found someone who is worthy enough to love you the way I know you should be loved then how could I not celebrate that." Elsa paled at the mentions of love resting her forehead against Anna's shoulder.
Anna's grip tightened behind her back and her voice grew consequential. "And if anyone has a problem with that- with your happiness- they'll have to deal with me first." Elsa wondered what exactly her sister would plan to do if anyone ever tried interfering with her and Ryu's relationship in any negative manner.
Drawing back Elsa kissed her cheek. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you before." Anna shook her head in protest. Elsa tilted her head. "You said no secrets and I broke our promise." Seemed it was all Elsa was capable of these recent months.
"You're entitled to privacy Els, no promise was broken." A comforting silence hugged both of them together. Until Anna's nosy nature began getting the better of her.
"Sooo- when did it happen?" She asked carefully. Elsa blushed as her life's book opened to the 'garden incident' chapter. Bashfully she regaled the tale of her and Ryu's first embrace, she grinned remembering how freeing it was after orbiting each other for so long.
Playfully Anna nudged her shoulders, accompanied by the wiggling of her brows. "So that's why I heard you get back to your room so late."
Elsa shrugged, finally accepting defeat. "I kinda always suspected it." What! Was Anna referring to Ryu or…something else…
Her concerned expression drew out a haughtiness in Anna, she didn't stoop down to I told you so. "Yep! It was just a theory but I kinda suspected there was something… more going on between you two. So does that mean you like girls?"
And there it was, the question Elsa had been awaiting. The nature of it was by no means malicious; she knew that and would have answered if she even had an answer.
"Umm-" She stumbled. "I don't know actually." Anna frowned and then abruptly stood going to her bookshelf browsing until she found what she had been looking for.
"Aha! Here." Sitting back down she presented her findings. The beauty in Grecian art. Elsa recognized the title having her own copy of it.
It was apparent Anna had looked through it herself thoroughly enough, very familiar with the chapters and what they contained. "Look." She pointed to a picture of a beautiful statue of a woman in a contemplative state, nude.
Elsa hummed in appreciation, it was a beautiful piece, she however could not connect the dots of what Anna was getting at. Quizzically she glanced at her sister seeking guidance.
"Does it do anything for you?" Elsa blinked, opening and closing her mouth. "What- I'm sorry, beg your pardon."
"I mean do you like her body or think she's attractive?" Anna's prodding now finally made sense, Elsa concentrated on the art's physicalities instead of the beauty and craftsmanship.
She couldn't deny, the woman was gorgeous and her feminine appeal was there but it stirred nothing in her loins. Her mind began to drift towards last night.
Ryu.
She loved her body and thought the dragoness remarkably attractive for many reasons. She even shared some of the qualities of the statue yet nothing.
Even when she first met Ryu Elsa was drawn to her but her attraction was by no means sexual. She thought about if she'd still be open to intimacy if she didn't know Ryu and found the answer to be absolutely not!
Odd.
"I don't know her." Anna gripped her chin and shrugged. "Well she's a statue Els so."
Turning the pages Anna took her through various pieces of nude art. Did she have these bookmarked!
"Well I can't say yes or no because I don't know their character personally."
" … Again they're statues."
"Yes I know but it's complicated."
Anna assuaged her with a shoulder squeeze.
"That's okay. It seems pretty handy that you can't feel attracted to someone until you know them somewhat, attraction can make that hard and then you get a biased opinion of them through rose colored glasses." Looking down at the book again Anna licked her lips eyeing a woman draped across a bed dramatically.
"I can safely say she does it for me."
Elsa's eyes widened at the throwaway remark making Anna chuckle. Her mouth opened but no words came out, too many questions all trying to squeeze through the opening.
"What you thought I was only talking to the pictures in the gallery- well I was with some- but others…" Anna's eyes became mischievously suggestive alluding to her point. "And years later I didn't even know women were an option for me so I didn't entertain it."
"But Kristoff-" Elsa began sounding attentive and careful with how it would be taken. Anna wasn't offended, casting an easy smile. "I'd still love him even if he were a woman. I realized I don't care about what's between the person's legs, just what's in their heart." She clutched her hands over her chest dreamily.
Elsa wasn't quite sure how to feel, she thought she knew everything about Anna yet her the woman was still surprising her in welcomingly pleasant ways.
Of course Anna being Anna would prioritize a person's heart and soul above everything else. Elsa now knew what type of magic Anna possessed, it was love, a beautiful love that transcended so many limitations
She grinned at the idea that if Anna was aware of same gendered love growing up the world would be her oyster, man or woman wouldn't stand a chance against her beauty, charm, wisdom, strength and warmth.
She was perfect.
Elsa allowed her head to fall against Anna's shoulder. A giddiness made her own heart skip and frolic like lambs in the spring.
"So!" Anna shouted startling Elsa, she winced apologetically but quickly moved on. "Now that you two are dating-"
Elsa raised her finger up, recoiling. "Actually we haven't been on any dates yet." Oh god. Elsa was just as dumbfounded at this as Anna was. She felt like such a rake already beguiling the dragon into intimate situations yet having not taken her on a single date yet, the more she pondered it Elsa realized she hadn't exactly acted respectfully even with her ranting and raving about propriety.
She wanted to kick herself. Sure she suspected Ryu didn't care about things of that nature being more of a do what feels good type of person, still she deserved to be courted properly and maybe she'd even like it.
Elsa wanted to make her feel special, cherished like she was worth the efforts of wooing. And to Elsa she was.
"Don't worry Elsie Olaf and I will help you plan a wonderful first date for your girl." Anna playfully punched her arm.
Elsa stared at an empty space, Anna's words echoing in her head.
Is Ryu my girl?
A slow wide grin crept along her lips overtaking her face.
Yes, yes, my girl.
"Elsa? Elsa? Elsa? Elsaaaaa-"
"Ouch Anna! What in the cabbage patch is wrong with you?" Elsa cried, clutching her now irritated, watery, red eye.
"I'm sorry, sorry, you just weren't responding and I tried to get your attention."
Elsa held out her hand while the other held a snow cloth to her face. "It's fine I'm fine, and you're right-" when the burning ceased she held her head up and straightened her shoulders.
"I should-" she nearly fumbled over the next words that came but caught herself enjoying this freeing sensation of transparent vulnerability. "Take my girl on a lovely date."
"Before that happens I would like to talk to her first." Elsa's anxiety returned, her head whipped towards Anna who rolled her eyes. "What?" She shrugged her shoulders high. "I'm not going to do anything to her or whatever it is you're thinking; besides you talked with Kristoff before we started dating." Elsa's eyes casted sideways. She tapped her fingers on the wooden desk, her nails clicking absentmindedly as she pondered.
"Kristoff it's just me and yet you seem so uncomfortable."
Kristoff sputtered over his wine glass, nearly spilling the contents on himself and the table. Elsa patiently waited for him to compose himself.
"It's not that- I'm not uncomfortable with you- no I just-" he sighed, not finding the correct thing to say as Elsa ceased her studying gaze sending it towards her dinner.
"I won't say the things you probably want me to."
She took a small sip of her wine. "I want you to say the truth." He remained quiet, possibly not believing where his life had led him. A few years ago he had been alone in a barn of a very generous farmer with Sven content, and now here he was sitting in the maybe the most powerful queen in the world's study having dinner over the prospect of dating the princess of an entire nation all because he offered her a ride.
It was ridiculous!
"I don't know if I love Anna, but I care about her enough to find out. She's the most remarkable person I can think of, and there's a lot of maybes for us, some good, some bad and I want to explore that and know. The good maybes seem worth it- the pain it may bring, the good maybes are worth it to me." Elsa stared at him for a long while then nodded.
"I think the good maybes are worth it as well." A breath of a moment passed before she leaned forward delicately spooning her soup. "If you break each other's hearts due to incompatibility I still think there is a future for both you and Anna as friends. I don't have to maunder on about how spectacular Anna is. You know already and we'd be up all night writing books with our words about her. That's the beauty of your relationship-" Kristoff gulped audibly tugging at the collar of the already uncomfortable formal dining clothes. Taking pity on him Elsa smiled gently. "I'm sorry Kristoff, I know this is hard for you, just know you don't have to just see me as Anna's sister and your queen." Elsa placed a hand on her chest as the other rested on Kristoff's dwarfed by his size. "I'm also your friend too. Or I'd like to think we're friend-"
"We are!" He replied loudly, surging forward. Elsa remained composed in spite of the outbursts. "Excellent, if you two ever need anything even if you just desire ears to listen I'll be here always for the both of you." His chest grew smaller after his exhaling, cluing how much air he was holding inside to prevent hyperventilation.
"Thank you Elsa."
Elsa sighed, Anna grinned at her defeated head nod, she wouldn't deny her sister and queen the same right she had been granted besides Ryu was generally very thick skinned and not offended easily.
The idea that the dragon had expressed her clement nature with Elsa felt like such a privilege. She was still uncertain if Ryu had shared that side with Anna but she hoped that this connection would bring them closer.
"I beg of you please don't drool on them!"
"Get back down here! That's not a chew toy! Why are you naked! Put these clothes on."
Speak of the devil, there could have been only one culprit that could draw such a panicked tone from Kelsey.
In came Kristoff impressively hefting Ryu by the scruff resting her body on his hip, he presented her like a father, with the fatigue caused by a rowdy child. Ryu despite her best efforts of nipping his biceps and squirming like a snake could not escape. He remained apathetic to her attempts.
"Good morning Queen Anna, lady Elsa." Kelsey curtsied, the girls beamed at her having not noticed the small woman behind Kristoff's frame.
She placed the tray of extra pastries on Anna's desk snagging one.
"Let me go Kristoff, let go of my ass!" Kristoff fumbled with her when she nearly slipped free. "No, no, you're a maniac."
When Ryu's mouth opened to protest Kelsey pushed the pastry into her gob and ruffled her hair on the way out, shutting the door.
Swallowing down her breakfast she growled. "Put me down." Ryu did not like being held- except for certain occasions by Elsa who had been giggling with Anna while serving themselves the delicious warm strudels.
"As you wish." Kristoff discarded the dragon onto the carpet in favor of sitting with his wife and sister to eat.
Elsa peaked over exchanging a small grin with Ryu as she made herself comfortable on Elsa's lap allowing her to feed her food and scratch her scales.
"Is it okay if I tell Kristoff?" Elsa nodded at the whisper feeling much more confident with her secret now that she had gained support.
"So Kris turns out Elsa and Ryu are sweethearts." They watched him gauging for a reaction or signal of what he thought on the subject.
With one cheek full he bobbed his head and smiled at Elsa. "Congrats you two." Well that wasn't much, it was sweet of course since this was Kristoff but there was something peculiar that was missing. There wasn't even a hint of this being news or a revelation.
Anna spoke up about this first. "Is that all you have to say? I mean this is pretty major."
He shrugged but his eyes were still understanding of the gravity the situation held, scratching his neck. "I already knew."
At first it was silent, then all three women spoke at the same time.
"What?"
"When?"
"Dō yatte?"
He laughed at their dubious expressions.
"Sven knew and told me then I saw them… Sometimes annnnd- yeah, so no need to tell him either."
Elsa cringed the hardest out of all present- "But we were so discreet." Casting a pout to Ryu who seemed unfazed. Still she hated seeing Elsa upset and began nuzzling into her purring. "I hope we weren't obvious?" If Kristoff had caught them was it possible someone else did as well? Oh Goodness she hoped not.
Her eyes tore away from staring at the door noticing the deadpanned expressions on her sister and brother's faces.
"No, not obvious at all." Kristoff assured.
"We have to be careful about who we tell." Elsa nodded, she could understand that, even with her family's support it was a dangerous development that could turn south quite quickly. Elsa was grateful that she didn't have to make this journey alone, she couldn't fathom how blessed she truly was to have the people in her life that surrounded her with protection and care.
The door knob jiggled.
"Oh I didn't know we were having brunch, Anna why didn't you invite me?"
"Sorry Olaf, I wasn't exactly planning on dining with anyone this morning." The snowman took his place on Anna's lap. Ryu pulled her face from Elsa's neck.
"Should we tell Olaf?"
"Tell me what?"
They felt guilty for the doubt seeding in their hearts for brief moments, Olaf could be trusted, with secrets some would slip but if they made him aware of the disparity then they were sure he could keep his lips sealed.
"Olaf, Ryu and I are-" Glancing to Ryu Elsa tilted her head, she hadn't asked her if she could call Ryu her girlfriend yet, come to think of it there were alot of conventions they skipped over.
"Are you talking about how Ryu is your inamorata?" Elsa's brows shot up to her hairline while Anna, Ryu and Kristoff's faces scrunched up in perplexity.
"How did you know?" This fueled Elsa's worries that despite the careful discretion they had been extremely reckless, trysting about in public.
"Sven told me." Blinking slowly, Anna turned her berating tone to Kristoff like a disappointed parent. "Tell Sven to stop gossiping about in court we raised him better than that."
Kristoff's arms wrapped around her waist once she stood up, his eyes softened the way they usually did only when he was looking at Anna. "Will do." He murmured, pecking her lips. Following the old habit Elsa gazed at them grinning, it quickly faded when she heard a squeak from the dragon in her lap, quickly she relaxed her tight grip she had her ensnared in.
"I'll be right back. I have to speak with periwinkle."
Ryu tilted her head. "Why?" She didn't seem very eager to leave Elsa's comfortable lap and scratching nails that were rewarded with loud purrs.
"You'll see." Breaking eye contact with Anna to falteringly seeking guidance from Elsa Ryu's answer was a nudge forward.
"Don't worry Ryu Anna only punches people who try to kill Elsa so unless you've done that it should be fine." Leaving the office she ruffled the twigs on Olaf's hair appreciating the reassurance.
Leaning on the balcony ledge, Ryu was content to sit in silence during this "talk" with Anna and just soak up the humid salty breeze disheveling her tied up hair.
"So- '' oh it seemed Anna was going to speak after all. "I guess I can skip all the Elsa is one of the most amazing, incredible, remarkable people on earth-as much as I love bragging about my sister- we both know it's true. And I'll cut to the chase and ask the age old question; what's your intentions with her?"
Ryu scrunched her face up glancing sideways at Anna who kept her stare trained on her.
It was an easy question so Ryu answered casually. "I want to make her happy and protect her." There, end of talk if that was Anna's only inquiry. For some reason this chat had an underlying implication that Ryu couldn't figure out. The closest similarities she could draw was when a lady in the Mikoto house had a man call on her and then whoever was in charge of said lady would drag him to another room a couple of times and that was as far as Ryu's knowledge went, not knowing what was done or said. He'd bring gifts that were luxurious, this fact made her feel very unprepared, she didn't know if that was a set rule for all humans but if it was she'd comply especially for Elsa. She'd just have to pick out something Anna would like and while she was at it something for Kristoff, Olaf and Elsa as well, if she was to do this properly. The only problem was money. She didn't have enough sheep or those weird coins or papers to buy something so it'd have to be free.
"That's good, I'm glad to hear that. What else?"
Ryu opened her mouth, stuttering. "I- I mean what else do you want me to say?"
"I want you to say the truth Periwinkle, you're good at that."
If Anna wanted the truth it was what she'd get. It was the least Ryu could do for all the trouble she'd surely bring to their house and lives.
"Truth is… I have no idea why Erusa chose me. I can't promise that I'm good for her or that I won't hurt her. I can't even say I love her, I don't know what the future will be like. I do know that my feelings for her are so damn selfish-'' With a trembling lower lip Ryu clenched her fist in anger. "I should run, I should leave her alone, cause I know she deserves so much better than me but I can't-" her voice broke, teetering between fragility and defensiveness. Anna remained silent, her eyes traveling all over the dragon's form.
Ryu knew she could have fibbed and promised nothing but lies and hype herself up to be a great provider and choice but Elsa didn't deserve that and neither did Anna.
"I should let her go so she can find someone that is good for her, someone who is as smart, kind, brave, and brilliant as her but instead I'm taking up her time and energy and I won't stop. I do know the fact that I can't say goodbye means something cause I'm so good at it. Or I used to be. Erusa is a retired Queen, spirit borderline goddess and even without those titles she's the kindest, good, amazing person I've ever seen. What else is there to say? The highest compliment I can give her is that she's Erusa. That's more than enough said." Anna nodded leaning against the railing, fiddling fingers, Ryu wished she could decipher what was going on in her mind but her face remained neutral.
"And I'm just a felon on the run. I know that I want Erusa to be happy and safe, she has so many people in her life who do and are the source of that but if I can contribute even just a small bit… " Smiling small and staring at the horizon there wasn't a trace of longing to flee but instead hope in Ryu's eyes. She faced Anna with those same eyes. "That's a good, wonderful thing."
They both nodded and continued watching the sun bake the kingdom, even further to the forests and mountains in its heat.
"Long ago when Elsa accidentally struck me in the heart, Kristoff brought me back when the trolls told us the cure. Well you already know what happened. He left me here with Hans because he cared and wanted me to have the best-" she air quoted the last word then chuckled a breathy sound. "He left. He knew he didn't deserve me, I was a princess and he was an ice harvester. And then he realized that sometimes the best isn't always right. We don't always get what we deserve and we don't want what we deserve sometimes. We dated and while we did, we had to deal with so many-" Anna's soft voice had grown an edge of irritation in it at the recollection. "So many people telling me oh he isn't good enough for you, oh Anna I'm on your council there are options and so many princes who aren't evil and kings who would love to marry you." Anna snorted at the very audacity some people had to approach her even with Kristoff present and state something of that nature.
"The only one who didn't was Elsa. She trusted me enough to know what I wanted and what makes me happy. And it wasn't love at first sight. There's love now, and being married to Kristoff is awesome but one of my favorite times was when we were building with each other. Figuring things out, it was fun and scary and great learning all those new things about him and even about myself." That did sound fun Ryu had to admit, learning about a person and being given pieces of them over time to add to a puzzle making a beautiful art piece.
"Love at first sight can happen but it can also get in the way of the hard and challenging bits and those matter. Building something with someone not knowing how it's going to end is terrifying and builds this bond that I don't think love at first sight can. You're both taking a huge risk and growing and figuring yourselves out." Ryu jumped back when a hand clasped her followed by the other finding herself now facing Anna's beautiful grin. "You haven't the slightest clue of why Elsa picked you, but I know my sister better than anyone. Elsa has seen something in you that she really really likes and I trust her. Doesn't matter what I think she deserves- to be honest Mr. Jesus. H Christ isn't good enough for her in my eyes. No, what matters is she knows there's something in you and wants it and is willing to take a risk, willing to risk the love of her family and respect of her people to have it cause to her it's worth it. Elsa would never put those things in jeopardy if she didn't think you were worth it. She's smart and a genius-"
Ryu giggled, nodding her head. "Yea she told me that once."
"Believe her it's true. I hope one day you can figure out what that special something is yourself but until then just trust her."
"I want Erusa to be with me but more than that I want her to be happy. If that's with me, great! But if it isn't... If I had the choice between letting her go so she'd find a better joy and more love and keeping her from that forever... I choose the first one, always." The sympathy Anna exuded gave Ryu the urge to tuck and roll like she had seen the trolls do and turn tail.
"Yea well don't spend your time waiting for that better person to come okay. I don't just want you to see your potential and grow for Elsa, you should do it for you."
Exhaling deeply Ryu bent her head in submission and agreed. She hadn't seen their conversation taking this direction and would carefully ingest and consider Anna's wise words. She'd be a fool not to heed the advice of a queen whose intelligence both emotional and in other aspects went far beyond her years.
"Uuh Periwinkle I didn't know you could do that." Ryu ignored the curious inquiry until she felt a sharp flick on an appendage poking from her head. "Huh? Wha-" that wasn't supposed to be there. Coming out of her own train of thought brought the feeling of pressure in her pants, she touched her rear and sure enough there was a smaller ratio of what her tail actually was wriggling about trying to escape. Her other hand smashed and pushed against her scaled neck and cheeks.
"Ā shōnen sorry-" she backed away from Anna who followed in pure fascination at what she was seeing. Ryu grunted in effort soon enough the surprise draconic anatomy sank back into her skin.
"Does that hurt when it comes out?" Ryu shrugged, following Anna back inside. "It actually feels good, kinda like loosening the buttons on really tight clothes. It can happen when I break concentration."
"So you're always concentrating on looking more human?"
"Mm kinda, it's more like a hook on a door to a shed that is jammed packed with stuff and when I unhook either some stuff falls out or it all comes out." It was beginning to happen more and more yet did not reach the point of worry for the dragon, she could keep herself hidden.
"Oh! There's Elsa, let's play a prank on her-" Anna elbowed Ryu's side lightly, she looked around the corner and spotted Elsa playing with Olaf, she had to have been telling him something exciting from the way her hands moved about and he bounced in place twirling around her legs.
"Pretend I was all tough and mean to you during our talk okay?" Ryu grunted, clearly much too fatigued to play along but she wouldn't ruin Anna's fun.
When they turned the corner, Anna puffed out her chest and strided in confidence, harshly poking Ryu's shoulder as she spoke in a deliberately loud tone. "And don't forget what I told you Periwinkle or I'll have to team up with Mattias to make my point, and you wouldn't like me when I team up with Mattias."
Ryu stared at her with a placid face, feeling Elsa's presence behind her. "... I don't like you now." She said with a matter of fact demeanor.
Anna ruffled her hair and her head towards Elsa. Ryu walked contently listening to the sisters giggle and muck about with one another until she was ushered into Elsa's room by Anna.
She joined Elsa on the edge of her bed meeting her expectant eyes. It seemed she wanted to say something but couldn't due to a glaring presence hovering over them.
"Anna-" Elsa cooed sweetly.
"Yes Els!" Anna looked eager and ready to help in whatever way she could. Ryu could have sworn the way she stared at them was much different now. Compared to the suspicious leer she sometimes unknowingly casted towards the pair as if she was crafting a slew of theories and searching for any idiosyncrasies that could confirm them, her eyes now sparkled with wonder at seeing her sister in this new development she had never been in before.
Her fingers twitched akin to a parent watching their child try to replicate an action they had taught them, wanting to step in and aid their every fumble.
"Do you mind?"
"No." Anna grinned. It took a few seconds of catching Elsa's implicative expression to realize what she meant. "Oh! You want-" Elsa nodded as Anna began backing up as if she couldn't keep her eyes off them.
"You want some privacy."
"Yes please." Her butt was the first part of her out the door and her head the last.
"I'll go check the morning mail. Be right back." Elsa continued smiling, enjoying how adorable her sister could become.
Her attention now consumed Ryu, leaning forward as the dragon connected their foreheads.
Anna's head popped back in.
"Not that I'm giving you two a time limit I just mean when you're done I'll be back. Okay carry on doing it is whatever you are gonna do." Elsa nodded, closing her eyes and opening her ears to listen for the click of the door shut signifying they were now truly alone.
She let loose the harsh breath letting the intensity of her coiled muscles unravel, her torso felt like jelly sending her down on the bed.
Ryu too felt like the notched arrow which was her body had finally been fired. Cold fingers played with the hem of her dark gray tunic, slipping beneath the fabric to toy with her fluttering scales.
"How was your conversation with Anna?"
"It was… really really insightful. Anna is really smart." Elsa chuckled, rolling onto her side like a cat very aware of the appreciative audience she held.
"You sound surprised. Anna is- I can't really capture the depth of her wisdom. It's so complicated and comforting knowing I have her in my corner and yours too."
Ryu snapped out of her lustful stare making Elsa create her favorite sound she ever heard from her, humored by the dragon's surprise. "Me?" Her finger pointed to herself.
"Yes you-" Elsa sat up nudging closer.
"I guess now that she knows it would make you sad if something happened to me." Elsa didn't agree, face growing more solemn at Ryu's lack of understanding.
"Ryu I may have been the reason you two met but Anna's affections for you are an almost entirely separate entity from me. She cares for you because you're you, sure it helps our relationship's nature but people like you for you not because of your association with me. I only-" she thought for a moment the right words then smirked. "Broke the ice."
The emotional overwhelming rushes were too much for one single morning, whimpering pathetically Ryu tucked herself underneath Elsa's chin purring when arms enveloped her back pushing her closer. She wasn't sure of the appropriate reaction, did one say thank you, or offer a service in return for being valued by another. Elsa had said her own affections weren't transactional but Ryu had received no such affirmation from Anna.
"I have to go to the valley of the living rock today but when I get back," Elsa withdrew, gripping Ryu's chin to lift her head. Ryu took note that she not only began to smell nervous but also appeared as such.
"Would you like to join me for dinner tonight?"
"I mean we have dinner every night, so if we could keep doing that, that would be great." To appeal to her Ryu nuzzled into Elsa's palm trilling.
"I know what I mean is, a special romantic dinner, I'm requesting a date tonight."
Ryu's oh face had Elsa beaming especially when she nodded. "Yes of course Erusa I'll give you a date tonight."
Elsa rewarded her dragon with a sweet kiss which had only promised to deepen. Ryu had no hope of stopping her lower body from wiggling, not when she had been craving Elsa's lips and air since… well she found herself always desiring a kiss from Elsa.
When her tongue licked Elsa's lips to beguile them into opening she felt Elsa grin but she didn't pull away instead speaking into her mouth.
"Are you trying to tempt me to not leave?" Elsa asked coyly. Ryu nodded, tackling her to the bed attempting to pin her down laughing along with Elsa's melodious giggles, as the woman beneath her twisted to grapple Ryu's torso and get the upper hand. They rolled together rumpling the duvet, casting some pillows to the ground. Ryu nipped at the juncture of Elsa's neck.
Elsa returned the favor tugging at Ryu's ear with her blunt teeth finding herself growling or at least trying to mimic Ryu's. Next to Elsa's laughs it was the cutest noise Ryu had ever heard.
She could have easily won but gave the victory to Elsa contently, Elsa's weight on her back while Ryu rested her chin on her wrists was wonderful. She could stay like this all day.
Elsa ceased her attack of 'mauling' Ryu's shoulder when she realized Ryu had ceased any attempts of resistance.
"Hey?" Ryu turned her head to Elsa's face perching on her shoulder.
"Erusa, when did you meet Anna?" Elsa hummed thinking.
"I was three, three and a half."
"Three of what?"
Elsa stared into Ryu's eyes searching for any signs of mockery or jests. Her tone was that of disbelief; she even had to answer this. "Three years old!"
"Oooh."
"What? You just thought I was three of something at some point?"
Ryu scrunched her shoulders together, behind them their legs were having their own conversation with Elsa's calves twisting into Ryu's which bracketed upward. Their feet swayed from side to side following the other's rhythm.
"Three yous. I don't know, maybe. What happened to them?"
"Oh, I consumed them a few years later." Ryu's raspy chuckle shook Elsa's body. She loved bringing out this side of Elsa, the side that gave up on sense and succumbed to the ridiculous and outright inanity of whatever conversation they were having.
"What did they taste like?" Elsa stared off into the distance sighing dramatically. Her eyes put on a mask of the melancholic histrionics Elsa sometimes fell into.
"Sadness."
"Nanite kotoda." Ryu became exasperated running a palm over her face but Elsa paid no heed to her continuing.
"Sadness, loneliness and... ice cubes."
Even though there was no rationality to wherever this was going there was a hole in the inferential conclusion Ryu couldn't help but bring attention to.
"If you were so lonely, why did you eat them?"
Elsa shrugged casually as if the answer were so evident. "To assimilate and absorb their knowledge and skill."
"Hmm, too bad you didn't have more."
"What do you mean by that?"
"... Nothing."
She grinned boldly into Elsa squinting eyes as they worked through the possibilities.
Elsa balked when she settled on the implications and snagged a pillow behind her in an attempt to smother Ryu.
"You little brat! How rude!" Ryu squealed when Elsa began her assault once more.
Ryu was laughing much too hard to put up a proper fight and could barely see behind the tears which leaked from her eyes.
"Nani mo warugi wa nakatta, chikaimasu!"
Elsa mimicked her voice sounding like a raspy gremlin. "Nani mo warugi wa- oh yea sure I'll just take your word for it!" Elsa's tickling fingers did not relent driving Ryu to euphoric torture.
She allowed her to breathe, still pushing all her weight down staring at her with bright twinkling eyes.
Ryu began to calm down, pushing a loose strand of her behind Elsa's ear.
Ryu had no idea how to love Elsa but knew she'd learn and with every step they took together she would fall in love with all the failures and all the triumphs. If she felt like this without loving Elsa then she couldn't imagine what being in love with her would feel like. It both terrified and exhilarated her.
Breath after breath followed her heart beat. As Anna steadied herself. Kristoff's strong arms reminded her of the power she herself was capable of, of what her kingdom was capable of. Seeing Olaf worriedly holding her hand reminded her of what she had to lose. Dropping the letter on her desk she abandoned it to look out the window.
"We should call a meeting with the council to figure out our next step and response."
Anna tried to not become exasperated at her husband. "You already know what we have to do Kristoff, these are the same people who want Elsa dead." Kristoff didn't flinch away from Anna's darkened hate filled eyes. "And now they're hurting an entire empire of innocent people to gain enough control to finish the job. If the civil war in Ruskland favors these… these heretics then Arendelle is in grave danger… Elsa will be in grave danger. I won't let that happen."
"I know Anna, but we must prepare properly, we can't just go barging in there swords swinging without knowing what's going on."
"You're right. God you're right. I have to tell Elsa."
Kristoff watched as she left picking up Olaf in his arms. "What's a civil war?"
"Like a real war but cheaper."
Marching down the halls back to Elsa's room Anna wanted to scream, all this violence, a war, an actual civil war over what, fear. Anna knew the truth, they weren't afraid of Elsa, at least whoever was behind this wasn't. They just hated being outclassed by her abilities, envious and thus used god's name in vain to justify their own horrid actions and crusades. Sadly most religious organizations required blind faith and blind faith while innocent and sweet could also be dangerous. A lethal force that the wicked wielded without mercy.
Her steps hurried, bordering an all out jog to her sister's door. Without knocking Anna entered swiftly and quietly, opening the door so quickly it couldn't even squeak.
The rush of her thoughts' waterfall froze, grasping palms and writhing legs filled her vision.
Elsa, disheveled, didn't mind in the slightest at her current state of rumpled clothing. Her chest moved rapidly trying to keep up with the exertion her body put it through.
Her hands grasped the sides of Ryu's face, rubbing their noses together before planting their lips firmly together. It was as if she couldn't afford separating them as she mumbled some words Anna didn't understand and some she did but never thought she'd hear in her sister's voice.
"Angel, you know exactly what you're doing don't you?" She shoved Ryu against the headboard straddling the ecstatic girl's lap suckling on her neck with delicate fingers doing things to Ryu's breast through her shirt Anna never knew they were capable of.
"It worked didn't it? I don't feel guilty- damn it Erusa you're going to suck a scale down your throat and choke at this point." Ryu's laughter died when she linked eyes with Anna, the expression she made was smug, showing no remorse or shame at being caught in this compromising position.
She wasn't shy, her palms continued their sensual massage of Elsa's ass. Her brow rose daring the traumatized Anna to say something.
Slowly Anna began backing away. Not wanting to alert Elsa as Ryu kept her trapped under her gaze. For some reason convinced that if her eyes moved Ryu would alert Elsa of her presence.
"I take it you like my breasts huh Erusa-chan?"
Elsa chuckled, pinching the nipples between her fingertips. "Mm they're okay." Sarcasm oozed from her voice. Ryu was having way too much with this
Not liking having Ryu's half attention Elsa pulled her chin to face her. "I think we should slow down and save some for tonight hmm?"
Anna shook her head as if she could deny what was happening, she couldn't take this turning she ran for the door, it was unfortunate that she still kept her eyes shut and smashed into it.
Elsa yelped, turning around taking in her collapsed sister. Ryu's brows shot up, she knew Anna was clumsy but not that clumsy.
"Anna! What're you- are you alright?" Elsa knelt down lifting her head preemptively applying a cooling touch to the red spot on her forehead.
"I'm fine uhh yeah no I'm good!" Anna rose to shaky legs. Her smile was fake and so pained. "Anna, you should really be more careful." Ryu's mockery of concern drew out a glare from Anna, she could see that smug expression lingering just beneath her frown and furrowed brows. Elsa nodded along, not quite picking up that she was being played.
"How long have you been in here?" Elsa asked nervously.
"Not long, just about two seconds I saw you guys weren't done talking and hit the door. Silly me, I'm gonna go now!" Ryu walked Anna to the door showing her confusion to Elsa.
It was sort of creepy the way that her true feelings on the antics that just conspired morphed her face as she leaned on the door frame crossing her arms.
"Why didn't stop her?" Anna whispered harshly through clenched. Glancing back to see Elsa putting a layer of ice at the bottoms of her feet and fixing her clothes, Ryu leaned closer. Exuding pity and exasperation. The nerve of this girl! Actually trying to make Anna believe she was the one being incorrigible here "You said to make her happy… Now if you'll excuse me." Winking before she slammed the door shut leaving Anna completely scandalized to blush the deepest shade of red that ever painted her face.
"What's wrong? You tell Elsa?" Kristoff asked, frowning at the door. Anna needed a moment to recover. "They um erh I mean what?" She clutched his black vest. "Oh Kristoff, someone has corrupted our sweet precious Elsa!"
Morbid curiosity had Kristoff leaning against the door with his ear detecting muffled voices
"Ryu, why didn't you lock the door?"
"I forgot to, I think I'll tell her tomorrow let her enjoy today."
He glanced at Anna's red horrified face, connecting what must have just occurred. It was a Schadenfreude response, his laughter. Anna did not find it as amusing as he did.
"Now you know how I feel."
His chuckles didn't die down as he led her back to the sanctity of her office.
Anna remained stressed from the ordeal. "This isn't funny Kristoff I mean where did Elsa even learn to speak like that? I wanna know who she's been hanging out with recently."
"Ryu for one thing." It was the wrong thing to reply, Anna stopped her steps gasping. "Do you think she's corrupted her?"
"I think– and Anna this may come as a surprise to you– but Elsa is a grown woman." She waited for him to say more, when he didn't Anna crossed her arms.
"And?"
"And she has a girlfriend so that's probably going to happen quite a bit."
"Kristoff you don't get it you weren't there, I had to be the one to give Elsa the talk about how babies are made, she hadn't the slightest clue." Yes Kristoff recalled the tale and conversation from both sisters when they approached him separately unaware that the other had done the same exact thing.
"Anna I'm pretty sure she was just messing with you."
Anna shook her head. "Nope I don't think so, she would have told me if that were true."
"How are babies made?" They both looked down at Olaf standing in the entrance of the office. Kristoff squeezed Anna's shoulder before turning away.
"I'll let you take this one. I gotta go brush Sven." Anna's surprisingly vice grip clutched his retreating collar.
"Hang on, reindeer boy Sven's hair isn't going anywhere."
"Actually Sven's shedding so his hair is going literally everywhere."
"Kristoff I am tired of being the sexual educator of this family now you are going to help me explain how sex works to Olaf, he's old enough now to know. I'll help you brush Sven later." Kristoff groaned, turning back around as Anna dragged him along to her desk.
"Fine alright, Olaf when a snowman and snowwoman love each other-"
"They melt from love's warmth."
"Oh you bet they do buddy."
Elsa had expected a billion questions waiting for her on the other side of the door, what she hadn't expected was her sister and Kristoff putting on a play for Olaf with snowmen dolls speaking in shrill voices, slamming the dolls together.
"Oh Mrs. Snowman, you feel so good and that's because I love you so much." Anna squawked replicating exaggerated kissing noises. She nearly choked out in laughter hearing Kristoff's high pitched voice.
"You're so big Mr. Snowman, not that size matters."
"Kristoff what are you doing?" He looked at Anna then the doll. "I'm playing a woman."
She raised a brow at him, closing her eyes. "That's no woman that I've ever heard." Olaf chimed in.
"Why did you make me the girl if you don't like it?"
"Girls can have deep voices, I've heard it before." The snowman proudly crossed his arms at the fact.
"You guys are weird." Ryu gave away her and Elsa's presence at the door. When their eyes drew to them Elsa began fidgeting. Not wanting to deal with any questions she turned abruptly and waved over her shoulder.
"Bye."
Anna got up quickly running out of her office, by the time she made it out Elsa had already sped walked to the corner vanishing from view.
Slowly her eyes panned sideways.
"Ryu, do you know how babies are made?" Ryu remained still at her side. Anna saw many things, disbelief, perplexity, then finally a glimmer of mischief swim across her face.
"I have a theory." She stared proudly
As if the statement pained her physically Anna squeezed her eyes shut. "Oh Jesus what is it?"
"So the man blows a bunch of air in the lady's growler also with some spit making a baby-" she drew air circles around her crotch. "- and every month he puffs more and more air into her so the baby has room then when she gets so big she explodes! And her guts and flesh goes everywhere and that's why the baby is so bloody and then the doctors stitch her back together and she's fine." Satisfied Ryu crossed her arms with a lopsided grin.
"That was… horrific and very upsetting to hear. Come one we're teaching Olaf I think you should know too." But Ryu dug her heels into the carpet.
"Actually Anna I have to go and prepare to have a date with Erusa. She wants one at dinner with me tonight." Anna gasped, Ryu yelped when she clutched her shoulders successfully swinging her around.
"That's amazing! I have an even better idea: you plan dinner for Elsa and we'll surprise her when she gets home. Elsa's first date!" She clapped her hands bouncing in place. "Oh we have so much to do! We have to do your hair, get you dressed-" Ryu watched the woman go bonkers over the prospect and allowed her to shake her shoulders. "I know just the thing to dress you in too, just have to call my seamstress–she's amazing. Hmm-" Anna paced along the hall in thought. "We need to have food, entertainment, music and setting. We can do it if we just rustle up some help, you're in luck that you know me this is going to be your first and best date ever." Ryu's shrug and next reply had Anna freeze in her tracks.
"I've had plenty of dates."
"What? How? With who?" Ryu didn't understand why this concept seemed so hard to comprehend.
"I don't really remember a few monkeys I think." Dates must have been really significant to humans if she and Elsa acted like this when the prospect of having one was brought up. She'd oblige either way but didn't see the appeal. Grabbing her hand, Anna pushed Ryu back into her office.
"Come on, we've got a lot of work to do."
There was some guilt Elsa felt being held under expectant eyes of the trolls both pebbles and adults. She knew who they were looking for.
"I'm afraid Ryu is a bit occupied in Arendelle at the moment. Do you know where Grand Pabbie is?"
A young troll led her through some hot springs towards a grass clearing. Elsa grunted with effort as she followed, her legs had grown twenty pounds heavier, every time she stumbled the troll children laughed clutching her tighter.
They came across the elder troll going back and forth from a temporary table reading over what were maybe directions on where he would pour bags of some type of substance into the grass.
"Greetings Elsa." She smiled and waved, the troll's eyes took her in then chuckled, shaking his head. Elsa looking down began prying chubby fingers from her gray tights. "Thank you all for the escort but if I may speak with Grand Pabbie alone." The children despite letting their protests be known loudly compiled all the same rolling away into the woods.
"What type of magic is this?" Elsa tilted her head to steal a closer look, inspecting the swirls and patterns Pabbie created in the grass.
"It's not magic, it's mulch, in such extreme conditions it's hard to keep foliage abundant enough for the little ones to play in." Elsa made an oh face waiting patiently for Grand Pabbie to finish mulching the grass.
"Now how can I help you?" Elsa on the ride here had thought and mulled over the best way to ask for the information she sought without outing herself in the process, unsure of how the trolls react to knowing her relationship with their Drage Lyse.
In some way she was certain Grand Pabbie would not approve of the union for many reasons. No, she needed to provide Ryu with the right stability, restore her magic and prove she was the best match for the dragon, after everything that had transpired Elsa would prove to him that the dragon would thrive with her association and affections.
"I was hoping that I could maybe gleam some research about a dragon's… anatomy and erm-" she coughed, clearing her throat, it was best to sound as nonchalant as she could on the subject. Not needing but morose inquisitive. "Courting behaviors."
Grand Pabbie's demeanor did not change. She wished it did, if only to prove his inner thoughts on her inquiry. If he had suspicions or any negative aptitude about Elsa's intentions she had no idea. She did her best to reign in her trepidations, assuring herself that at the core her premeditation was altruistic. She was looking for a way to treat Ryu the way she deserved to be treated. As a respectful beautiful young dragoness.
"Those are very specific questions, has Ryu shown interest in such topics?"
"Well I suspect so, and I want to educate her about herself and also want to know what to expect myself." It disturbed Elsa how well she had become at omitting the truth.
His fingers gripped his chin in thought. "I suppose it would be a good idea for her to know such things. Follow me-" he waved his hand at Elsa taking her back to where he kept most transcripts. "Most of my knowledge on things such as dragon courtship is observational. I could talk your ear off for hours, however I kept track of my findings in journals, I can allow you to borrow them for your own perusal." Elsa listened to his musing as he entered a small lit cave and began shuffling through papers and scrolls. "Now mind you these will be western customs and descriptions as I have never met or encountered an eastern dragon since Ryu." He lamented emerging with a pile of very old and worn small black journals.
"Here you are." Elsa took the load and placed them gently in her satchel. "Actually Grand Pabbie… " she began slowly. "I would very much like to hear from you your opinion currently on… well the best way one would court a dragon." she caught herself when his mossy brow rose up. "So uh so I know what to look out for in case it… were to happen between Ryu and a person." She trailed off stewing in the intense silence until he answered.
"Of course Elsa I would be happy to oblige." Elsa released her held breath following him into the cave. Ready for his tutelage and already devising ways she could put it to use. These thoughts had her face crimson and legs crossed throughout his entire lecture.
Elsa squinted as Nokk galloped up the hill which oversaw her home. He seemed less inclined to rush home and more prone to taking scenic routes, not that Elsa minded the alone time with him, when she thought about the ride none of the spirits sought her out as they usually did to romp around, even the earth giants' quakes couldn't be heard. It itched at the back of Elsa's mind but she didn't feel too disturbed by the glaring absences.
There was a light poking from behind her cottage. Peculiar. She wondered if Ryu had returned and was up to something in the gardens.
Nokk practically bucked her off him when they drew closer and galloped to the back.
What had gotten into him?
Straightening her clothing, Elsa, instead of going through the front door trailed behind him. Turning the edge of the cottage she collided with Anna who gripped her to prevent any falls.
"Elsa! Oh your back."
"Anna?" She was whipped around by strong hands and herded towards the door without any room to give a rebuttal.
"Elsa, I was going to give you a heads up but I guess you got here faster than gale. Don't worry about a thing just follow me okay?"
Elsa barely had enough time to take in her home when she pushed through the door.
Olaf waddled up to them in… Elsa gasped when her gaze landed on him. His round button half protruded out the black and white suit he was dressed in. His little hair twigs were slicked to the side. "Elsa, what are you doing here so early?"
"I- I live here, Olaf." She didn't catch the little wink Anna sent him over her shoulder and followed her upstairs to her room.
"Alrighty then let's get you ready." Anna said resolutely. It was then seeing her leaning against the door that Elsa noticed she was dressed far too formal for what would be considered a visitation or sleep over but she did look rather dashing, with her ruffled short green sleeves, decorated in etched pink floral summer flowers, it was the same pink which wrapped around her skirt's bottom hem.
"Get me ready for what exactly?" Anna gripped Elsa's questioning raised finger and wagged it as she spoke. "For your first ever date."
Oh god.
Elsa paled considerably. She supposed her nerves had been quieted by the lesson she received from Grand Pabbie about draconic sensuality, so consumed by the ideas and possibilities of how to utilize the new knowledge to make Ryu happy.
She had planned to cook the woman a lovely little dinner and read her poetry by the fire. She even had picked up some wine which still lay cooled in her satchel with Grand Pabbie's journals.
She was snapped from her panicked musings when she heard a wet sniffle from Anna. "Oh Anna." She approached, drawn in by Elsa's cooing. "Come here pretty girl." Elsa embraced her running hands up and down her back. "Can I help you get ready?" She whispered into Elsa's shoulder.
"Of course you can." Pulling back Anna giddily wagged her shoulders sporting the cheesiest smile while ushering Elsa to sit at her vanity.
Elsa hummed, letting Anna's exploring fingers and teeth of the comb to lull her shoulders to sag while closing her eyes.
"So I think that we'll give you a summery look." Anna curved a large portion of Elsa's hair to the right side creating a side braid. "You want flowers like me?" She gestured to her own hair which was done up in a lovely bun decorated with flowers. "We can match." Elsa grinned and ran her palm over the braid scattering matching flowers in it to the tip.
"Perfect. Now dress wise," Elsa stood in front of the mirror as Anna looked her over. "How about something short and open, I know you don't often show off your legs but it is pretty hot tonight." Taking Anna's suggestions to heart Elsa removed her top and pants, envisioning a corset top made completely of frosted flowers, translucent loose strap sleeves which hung on her lower biceps, behind her they slowed into an opaque cap stenciled with purple heather patterns. The floral design eventually faded into a slim fitting skirt, slitting upon her open thigh. It was more skin than what Elsa was used to showing but she was hopeful Ryu would approve. Turning to Anna she waved down at herself. "Perfect Elsie, all you need is slippers, there will be grass." Nodding Elsa changed the ice caked at the bottom of her feet to simple slippers enclosed around her heel.
"Anything else?" She asked, checking every detail again. "I can't think of a single thing, you look gorgeous Elsa, well you always do but you give variety." Anna spun her once then linked their arms together.
Elsa's smile became an 'o' when she remembered something, kneeling down she retrieved. Long rectangular box topped with a ribbon, answering Anna's questioning eyes. "A present for Ryu." She giggled, cheeks flushed while cradling it. Anna shook her head, breathing out. "She's going to be so spoiled by you I just know it." Anna spoke from experience.
Before they exited the house into the patio gardens Anna held Elsa's hand interlacing their fingers, she locked their gazes. "You look beautiful Elsa. I really am lucky to have you and Ryu is lucky as well."
Elsa kissed her forehead. Anna held onto the glass doors looking over her shoulder. "Ready to see your girl?"
Elsa smirked back at her. "Oh you bet I'm ready."
When Anna opened the door revealing the hours of work she and the others put into this evening Elsa tried to intake all of what she was seeing but her vision was stolen zeroing in on a turned back. Like a magnet all of her attention was taken by the rose pink kimono tied up in a large bow.
Sensing her stare Ryu half turned looking over her shoulder.
Elsa was indeed not ready.
Her curious stare turned warm, as the sweet smile reached her eyes, crinkling them perfectly. "Hey Erusa." Her voice was breathless, stolen the moment her eyes landed on Elsa.
Her short hair had been pinned by a blossom hairstick. Elsa was obsessed with the way a few strands had escaped into her face but she didn't mind enough to correct them.
Here in the warm light of lanterns, it was mind boggling that the rest of the world had never and probably would never see a sight such as this.
Anna gripped Elsa's chin clamping her gawking mouth shut audibly plunging her back to reality.
"Hehoryu- I um!" Elsa squeezed her eyes shut. She wouldn't be able to speak properly if she kept looking at Ryu . "Hello Ryu, good evening. You… look…" opening her eyes Ryu had silently closed the distance between them. She looked so confused at what she was seeing. As if she couldn't believe Elsa was real and not some indulgent fantasy.
"You… you're real and I can't fathom that." She whispered cupping Elsa's cheeks. "I don't think I'm ever going to." Her thumb rubbed against Elsa's skin.
"I'd show you to your table but you two seem happy just looking at each other." Olaf chortled, hugging the two pamphlets to his chest. Ryu huffed good naturedly and pulled away offering her hand to Elsa.
Being able to tear her eyes away from Ryu Elsa could finally appreciate the transformation her gardens had gone through. Her little table had been covered in a white sheet with a single candle and two plates and cutlery sitting atop.
The quaint lanterns hanging from trees, lit with Bruni's flames, the half moon, the water in the lake moving in beautiful patterns which could only be accomplished by Nokk, who was having fun prancing and trotting among his water features, Gale gusting a new batch of flowers every now and then to the earth giants' palms for them to pepper the couple in them like one did to soup with seasoning, it was so much and so sappy, so schmaltzy; Elsa loved every bit of it, feeling so special at the effort Ryu and the others put into her.
Setting down the box she and Ryu had gone to the adjacent chairs and pulled them out looking expectantly at each other. After a moment they chuckled at the blunder and sat on the chair their partner pulled out for them.
"Oh right!" Ryu yelled wincing when Elsa leaned back from the outburst. Reaching into her sleeve she retrieved a handful of something that looked like dirt.
Gesturing to Elsa who opened her palm slowly she poured a bunch of seeds into her hand. Replying to her searching stare for an explanation.
"I erm, I was informed that giving flowers is customary but I know you enjoy flowers and I don't think- well I didn't think you'd want me to bring you a bunch of dead ones so I got you baby flowers you can plant. The purple heathers they're your favorite." Ryu's leg bounced creating an anxious rhythm with her wooden Okobos against the pavement.
Elsa nearly cried at the sentiment, gently placing the seeds in an ice pouch safely fastening them to her hip. Reaching over she rubbed the top of Ryu's hand soothing her restless tapping fingers. "Thank you Gecko. I have a gift for you as well-"
"I'm not finished yet." Ryu complained, procuring a ball of napkins, unraveling them she handed a fruit to Elsa and set one in front for herself. "The dates you requested. They're the best ones I could find yea." Elsa laughed heartily at the proud puff of the peacocking dragon's chest. She was very pleased with herself. She didn't have it in her to explain the complexities of what a date was to Ryu, not when she knew the dragon although not understanding the human custom still took it seriously simply for the fact that Elsa had asked her to.
They clinked their fruits together and took a bite in synchrony.
"Here." Elsa pushed the box towards Ryu. She stared down at it as if not sure what to do next. Glancing up to Elsa who nodded, she delicately unwrapped it. There were a few moments in Elsa's life she'd happily replay over and over again if given the chance; watching Ryu's eyes expand and her shake as she carefully removed the flute from the velvet cushioning.
It was made of ice instead of bamboo but this oversight did not ruin the gift as far as Ryu was concerned. Elsa thought the design a little much with the cyan blue eastern dragon carved in, twisting around the milky white shaft, its mouth was open at the end where music would pour out and the tip of the tai serving as a mouthpiece.
Ryu hugged it close to her chest, closing her eyes. "Would you play for me? I remember you saying you knew how to."
There was that fear, the insecurity taking residence along with the glee inside. "I umm I learned not in the traditional way, I'd watch the orchestra and performers follow their fingers but I wasn't allowed to play ever. I'd get in trouble if I was caught." Elsa understood as much as she'd loved to hear Ryu play; she understood how difficult it could be for one to be persecuted for a gift they possessed, be it magical or not, then how jarring it was to be praised for the same transgression later on in life.
"You don't have to play for anyone right away, even me." Elsa said, trying to overcome the guilt Ryu felt for her cowardice. "Your music will be worth waiting for."
"Your menus." Olaf's posh voice sounded from the side of the table, he shoved menus in between them.
"Oh menus?" Elsa asked, glancing at him. He nodded. "Mhm," speaking in a hushed tone he hid his mouth behind fingers leaning in towards Elsa. "Kristoff's cooking with Sven- '' Elsa followed the jerk of his head to her kitchen window where said chefs waved at her. She waved back then turned to Olaf. "But please don't let that deter you from reviewing our service favorably, just leave separate reviews."
Nodding, Elsa nearly dropped the menu when Anna appeared on the side of them, filling the air with beautiful music plucked from the strings of her violin. She winked at Elsa and lost herself to the romantic tunes.
"Since Kristoff is cooking," Elsa began looking over the menu. "I think the safest thing to do is pick the most simple dish." Her eyes peaked over to see what Ryu thought of this. She hummed smiling.
"I'm feeling adventurous, Good sir Olaf I'll have the… " Ryu squinted, turning the menus sideways as if that would aid her in the word she was trying to accomplish saying. "The troll… cream-"
"Oh we don't serve trolls I'm afraid."
"Here let me see?" Elsa offered, clasping her hands casually beneath her chin. reading the word Ryu pointed to. "Trollkrem. Are you sure?" Ryu nodded. "Okay, and I'll have the pea soup." That should have been simple enough for Kristoff to make and not experiment with.
"Are you going to write those down?"
Olaf shrugged. "I don't have any paper, oh wait!" He began tracing the orders into his side. "I'll be right, be right back!" He raced off to the house leaving Elsa and Ryu with just Anna's music.
"So… come here often?"
"Mm I frequent here from time to time."
A bottle of wine bounced onto the table, the culprit being Olaf. "I forgot the refreshments, here ya go."
"Arigatō Orafu." Olaf stared at Elsa for a couple seconds before bowing. "Arigatō orafu to you as well. So! How's your night going?"
Ryu answered not taking her eyes off Elsa. "Amazing." The spirit blushed tucking a tress of hair behind her ear.
"That's fantastic to hear. Oh wow Elsa your eyes are dilated just like Ryu's. I actually wrote down some pointers for you two since you've never done this before." Olaf produced a list he kept concealed inside his torso, he cleared his throat before he began to read. "There are many signs of what attraction looks like. Did you know that eye dilation is a sign of the "love hormones" — which have an effect on the size of your pupils."
"That's amazing Olaf." Elsa sighed resting her chin on a closed fist, body angling itself towards Ryu's which mimicked hers.
"Yes I know, these you have that to look out for; if you're speaking to someone and their feet are pointing toward you, then they're where they want to be. So let's see." He climbed underneath the table cloth, his voice muffled. "Your toes are entangling with each other, I'm not too sure what that means but I'll take it as a good sign."
Ryu and Elsa had no idea what he was talking about but entertained him nonetheless as their feet freed from the prison of their shoes to stroke and play together. Anna kept nudging her neck at the snowman jerking her head towards the house.
"Anna, you should really see a doctor about that twitching. Next is mirroring which means mimicking — subconscious or otherwise — of another person's actions and behaviors. It says here, look '' he held the paper towards Elsa who gave a quick glance to it.
"Right, right Olaf. Thank you."
"Of course Elsa, we want to make sure you have a great time. Next I have some sexual tips I got from Kristoff incase after dinner you two decide to make a baby. Come to think of it, it'd be a cute baby. You could name them Samantha!" That caught Elsa and Ryu's attention.
They both blushed and withdrew their feet from the other. Ryu pounced on the opportunity leaning towards Olaf. "Little buddy if you behave yourself Erusa and I will give you a baby brother or sister how does that sound?"
Olaf's astonishment at this caused Anna's music to screech to a halt. "Okay Olaf, why don't you come with me to check on the food, now!" Anna ushered him away casting an apologetic smile to Elsa but she didn't see with her hands covering her heated face.
Ryu grinned, showcasing her fangs at Elsa's deadpanned glare. "He just learned about how babies are made today Gecko, let's not confuse him."
"I know Anna gave me a lesson as well." Elsa blinked rapidly.
"Did you not know?" Ryu's head rolled towards her half glaring, as amusement danced behind her eyes. The stare made Elsa feel incredibly demure.
"Erusa, I can't even count how many animals I've seen fucking. Humans aren't that much different. Anna just kind of assumed I had no idea." Elsa balked but did not veer off the subject. She couldn't figure out why Anna had been so presuming to those around her not being aware of how reproduction worked.
"Anna sort of gave me the talk as well." Elsa smiled fondly at the memory.
"Elsa what did our parents teach you?"
"Ah they were excellent teachers, they taught me a lot. I didn't have private tutors mind you but Mama and papa were quite educated and wanted the same for me, from bureaucratic skills, liberal arts and sciences, history and not just of Arendelle's but all over. Religious piety, architecture and geometric maths were always my favorites. Literature, languages, biology, military politics and humanities, astrology, scientific history, archaeology and anthropology-"
"Did they ever touch you about intimacy?" Elsa lowered her fingers which she had been counting the topics on.
"No, that wasn't really a necessity when they assumed I wouldn't be able to conceive any heirs." Anna made a decision silently with the push of her bangs out her face. She appeared rather flushed.
"Okay Elsa I think it's time you learned how babies are made."
Elsa raised a brow at her. "Anna I-"
"Now I know it's a little weird hearing it from me but trust me Els-" Anna stood up from the edge of the bed and began pacing the same way Elsa had seen her father's military comrades move. "I did three hours of research and compiled notes and canceled my meetings for today so I will be thorough and you'll be left with not a single question."
She very well couldn't tell her sister now that she already knew about the intricate nature of reproduction– not when Anna had gone through all this trouble just to ensure Elsa did not remain ignorant to the topic.
She wasn't sure if she felt insulted Anna thought her so naive or flattered by the assumptions about how innocent she actually was in her sister's eyes.
She was fully aware of the reproductive systems of humans and the complications of sex physically speaking. She had done her own research due to her curiosity of wanting to know everything and certainly wouldn't let a topic like this slip through her grasp.
But Anna… she was Elsa's weakness, so she decided to humor her and who knew maybe she'd learn something.
"So Elsa, where do you think babies come from?" This was too good an opportunity to mess with her, if Elsa was to suffer through this why couldn't she have a little fun without it being at the expense of Anna.
"I have a theory."
"Let's hear it." Elsa assuaged herself it wasn't lying if she deemed this just a theory and not that she thought of it as fact.
"When two people kiss, the saliva of one enters the other's mouth, goes down their throat into their stomach and creates an air pocket bubble where the baby lives and grows. That's why a pregnant woman's stomach becomes so distended, then when the baby outgrows the bubble it pops and hence the water breaks, then the child is pulled out of her belly button." She allowed Anna the time to process what she just said, her demeanor remained calm and content with the absolute nonsense she just spewed with enthusiasm. Anna snapped her fingers and pointed at Elsa, completely supportive and encouraging.
"Okay so you're on the right track." It was Elsa's turn to be flabbergasted.
"Seriously! oh I mean– uh–really?"
"Mhm it does happen in the stomach, and there are body fluids involved just not saliva. And not really a bubble but so much a sack that holds the baby." Elsa nodded, pretending to take mental note and appear completely enthralled.
"Elsa, have you ever seen a naked man?"
"I try not to."
"So men have this thumb but it's a little bigger and it's on their groin and the thumb–when a man is aroused sexually–um it gets bigger and stands up. All animals have them." Elsa shook her head more so to herself at the false fact while Anna procured a pickle and doughnut.
How could she possibly eat while talking about this?
"If he finds a lady and they both decide to have sex then he stuffs it in her and it goes like this-" to Elsa's horror Anna did not eat the food instead simulating the act of sexual penetration.
She squeezed the pickle leaking juice onto the floor. "And then it vomits this gooey white stuff."
A gag retched up from the pit of Elsa's stomach to her mouth. "God Anna."
"I know, I know this is difficult to swallow." Elsa whimpered. "But it's what happens and then it makes a baby in her stomach and it comes out but not the belly button."
"Oh good I was worried."
"No need to worry."
"I have a small belly button."
"It actually comes out of your…" she wagged her hands in a circle at Elsa's lower body. Elsa slowly pointed to her rear.
"Vagina and it comes from there. Not your anus that'd be ugh. Anywho you can even have sex with yourself."
"I don't want to get pregnant Anna."
"Aha! My sweet Elsa, there are many ways to have sex that won't result in a baby." And of course Anna went into great detail about the many ways and manners one could have sex with either a partner or themselves. For… about an hour and half Elsa kept track of the clock.
"You just massage the clit till it feels good. Like this."
"Anna…"
"Yes Els?"
"Am I the clitoris?"
"Yes Elsa in this scenario you are the clitoris." Anna continued to rub her nose in small circles.
"Okay now I'm the man and you're the lady in this scene–many people flirt in different ways but you can usually tell; here watch." Anna puffed out her chest and sauntered over to Elsa glowering down at her putting on a deep voice.
"Hey pretty little lady wanna make love?"
"Good God Anna." Elsa cringed away crawling backwards from under Anna's casted shadow.
"Sorry, too strong?"
"A bit."
Softening Anna sat down on the bed patting the spot beside her. "I think you get the point."
"I do. I hope I do."
"I think that covers the basics and if you have any questions ever Elsa just asks me no matter how awkward you feel I'll be here for you to help." Feeling Anna's hand touching her shoulder looking so much like their mother, Elsa was certain that if she had received this education from her it'd be just as awkward, maybe not so… gregarious as Anna's but still pretty similar. Elsa could remember the awkward shy bumblings of her mother at times and her father not minding in the slightest, sometimes Elsa could even catch the small smile curving his lips.
She threw her arms around Anna pulling her close.
"Thank you Anna."
Anna patted her back audibly. "Aww it wasn't anything really… Just wait until I teach you about the toys you can use."
"Your theory was less messy than mine at least." Elsa was somewhat curious but it wasn't piqued enough to hear whatever graphic hypothesis Ryu had told Anna, not when she was about to eat. Speaking of food Olaf returned, placing the plates on the table.
Appearance wise they looked exactly like what they were expected to. Ryu corked the bottle of wine and took a sip offering it to Elsa, Olaf forgot the glasses or deemed them unnecessary. She created one for herself since Ryu was perfectly content to drink from the bottle. It was so juxtaposed with her dress and appearing like a perfect little lady just to sloppily eat and drink happily.
Her slightly forked tongue dragged across her lips. "Yum!" Elsa took a small sip of her soup testing it. A strange flavor had nagged her enough to make her gag a small bit. Ryu, hearing the subtle noise, frowned at her.
"Everything okay?" She asked behind a mouthful. Elsa nodded and began digging in her soup exhaling heavily when she found a ball of moss caked at the bottom of it.
"Ah, that explains it." She murmured. "Want to try mine?" Ryu pushed her glass bowl towards her and assured Elsa's hesitancy with an eager nod.
"It's really good." She was right! It was excellent. This had Elsa discombobulated, how could Kristoff make a perfect trollkrem yet mess up pea soup.
"If you don't like yours, you could send it back." Elsa shook her head. Despite their best attempts this wasn't a restaurant, and she couldn't risk hurting Kristoff's feelings when he was doing her a huge favor.
"I'll umm I'll mhm." Her spoon rattled with the tremors overtaking her hand as she slipped wincing and tried to not gag.
"How are things going over here?" Elsa clenched her eyes shut holding up a thumb shakily. Her shoulders hunched and body convulsed as she refrained from regurgitating the moss soup.
Ryu smiled at her in pity and admiration. "Hey I know it's not very polite but can I have yours instead and you can have mine?" Elsa's watery eyes met hers.
Was she serious? Evidently she was swapping the dishes out when Elsa nodded. If her mouth didn't taste like moss she could have kissed the girl.
Elsa's taste buds exalted when the cold creamy, sweet flavor of lingonberry hit her tongue. Ryu did not react as strongly as she did but she ate quickly and quietly.
"What's that?" She pointed to the saucer of green liquid placed on the table by Anna.
"Kristoff noticed how much you liked his soup so he gave you seconds on the house." Anna removed the empty bowl in front of Ryu with a huge grin.
Elsa pouted at Ryu in sympathy as the dragon squared her shoulders readying for round two with the swamp that lay before her.
This time she paced herself slower, not inhaling the soup. Sticking out her stomach to look as full as possible. Elsa scooted her chair closer holding a spoon of the dessert out to Ryu which she gratefully accepted.
Elsa was in love with the way throughout dinner Ryu couldn't seem to find the right thing to say as Ryu downed some wine as if to occupy her mouth from telling a stupid joke or pun. Over the course of dinner or even more so the epic battle between Ryu and the green moss soup Elsa couldn't erase the grin.
Even in this setting she couldn't sit still for a second of her life. She was a mess overthinking the small things.
It was so strange, Elsa didn't think she'd ever find something like this, it was more than what Elsa ever thought to want and certainly did not believe she'd find.
This rambling ancient being that cringed at her own jokes and couldn't find the right thing to say even as she enthralled Elsa with tales of her adventurous finding the queerest of situations funny like when she got stuck in an alligator's nest and hid in an egg to not be eaten and found herself stuck in the dynamics of an alligator family with fifteen siblings and a grumpy father.
"Wanna dance with me?" Ryu offered her hand while Anna returned to her music and Olaf cleared away the dishes hollering at Kristoff and Sven. "They loved the food, five stars here we come!"
Elsa shook her head feeling guilty, people usually danced with their dates but she just couldn't really. Sure she knew formal dances but she always felt so awkward performing them. Ryu didn't pressure her.
"Want to watch me dance?" It was a lovely alternative that had her blushing recalling what happened the last time after Ryu danced for her.
Fortunately as Ryu swayed to the music her motions were less erotic in nature and more so of her just letting Anna's songs move through her limbs as her feet shimmied and bounced. She seemed weightless. It was truly intriguing to watch, an eternal instinct awakened in the dragon, as she communicated the same way her ancestors did. Elsa could only correspond this to birds who completed complicated dances in courtship.
She was happy.
"Hey Gale, wanna dance?" The wind spirit agreed, twisting round Ryu's body in rhythm. Elsa was hypnotized, watching how free Ryu felt losing herself into the night.
One day… one day she'd join her she just knew it, but most likely when they were alone without an audience.
For now she could revel in the beauty of everything that she found herself surrounded by; The love of her family and friends, her wonderful home, the music, the lights, her beautiful girlfriend.
"Hey Els the tabl- oh no, no, no, go, go, go!" A single eye cracked open in time to see Kristoff placing the box down and shooing away Anna and Olaf's prying stares.
When they were out of sight she returned her full attention to the soft and sharp press of Ryu's lips and fangs against her own.
"Erusa?" The whisper into her mouth drew Elsa's head back to regard Ryu. She knew that look from the few times she had seen it. The dragon wanted them to retire to their 'nest' in Elsa's room, desiring the secure privacy.
Falling back against the bed, Ryu let herself become a ragdoll into Elsa's controlling hands. When Elsa pressed their mouths together again climbing on top of her, she felt a pleased hum coming from the spirit as she let her take her mouth with her questing bold tongue. Ryu's jaw fell slack, encouraging Elsa to begin kneading her through her kimono, less eager to take it off than her other clothing. There was something different about the way Elsa loved and touched her tonight, less explorative her hands knew exactly where to go, her fingers having the adroitness of how much pressure to apply and where. Elsa leaned back, looping her arms around Ryu's hips, yanking her closer and pulling her hips upward into her body.
Elsa's panting cold breath tickling her ear. "I learned so much today about you baby, would you like me to teach you?"
Ryu whimpered as she felt Elsa's slow deliberate tugs at the bow keeping her Kimono in place. With how reverent Elsa's actions were, peeling back each layer carefully, she felt like a present wrapped up by Anna in the silk specifically for Elsa to enjoy. "Yeah? Learn anything useful?"
Elsa hummed. "You could say that," Ryu felt bold enough to reach behind her to curl her hands into Elsa's dress along her flanks. The second her breasts were exposed Elsa took one into her hungry mouth suckling like she hadn't just eaten, like a starving babe, while her other hand refused to let the nipple's neighbor feel neglected. Deforming the mound between her fondling long fingers.
She moaned appreciatively, feeling Ryu's prying fingers trying to burglarize into her dress, abandoning the breast she clutched Ryu's wrists wide at her sides staring down at her. "Patience." Ryu growled at the injustice, earning a hard bite against the column of her throat.
Her growls evolved into purrs and mewls when her stomach was exposed next and massaged. How could she stay mad when it felt so good?
"Erusa please I want to touch you, I'll do whatever you want." She begged not caring how pathetic her cracking, raspy voice sounded to her own ears. "Just hold still and let me make you feel amazing." Elsa commanded, adding a softness to her edgy tone.
It was a simple enough demand yet was impossible to the writhing dragon who just wanted to twist and turn in Elsa's clutches and pin the woman beneath her.
More and more of Ryu's layers unraveled till the silk was held on by just her shoulders. A single digit encircled her scaled cleft the moisture collecting along Elsa's finger who gasped fervently groaning. "Oh sweet cabbages, you're so warm Gecko."
Glancing up Elsa caught the tremble of Ryu's face, a terrible attempt concealing her amusement.
"Hush." Elsa commanded deadpanned, smacking her with a pillow on the head.
Ryu fully expected Elsa to enter her and bring her to release, then it would be her turn to give the woman pleasure as well.
Instead Elsa's hand ditched her where she needed her touch most. "Erusa please," her own hand trailed downward but was impeded by Elsa. "Ahah Gecko." Elsa kissed and nipped along Ryu's stomach, her lips never leaving her skin. "Mmm ah! Erusa if you don't- I'll-" It was delicious, and left Ryu delirious, the most frustrating and pleasurable sensation. Elsa shushed her. "Shh, You'll be alright I promise. I need you to pay attention, listen to my voice. You're so worked up."
Ryu growled. Of course she was worked up! She was a little more than worked up. How could she possibly pay attention to anything? Her fangs dug themselves into Elsa's shoulder, but this time she didn't yelp or flinch away. This time she giggled and clutched the nape of Ryu's neck triggering the compulsion within the dragon to release her.
"Naughty Gecko." She reprimanded, only letting go when Ryu showed no sign of biting her again.
"You took me so well last night baby, I was so proud of you. You were so wet and ready for me and now you are again, nice and soft and so pretty." Ryu clenched her teeth hard, as her mind melted from the soft pressure she felt on her entrance from Elsa's fingers.
It was taken away in favor of the soothing hands gliding across Ryu's muscles. A balm to her pent up nerves and twitching scales. With Elsa adoringly crooning sweet compliments into her flesh. "You're so beautiful Ryu, I wish you could see what I'm seeing. How wonderful you are just for me. All for me."
"I don't see how I could be beautiful like this, I feel like a mess." Elsa kissed her breathy reply away taking a moment to admire the sight beneath her.
"The most gorgeous mess ever."
Ryu purred, shivering every once in a while. She felt so safe, so cherished here in their nest of pillows and blankets Elsa had bought for her.
Elsa continued her work of lightly rubbing and massaging her muscles in tandem. Her wandering hands didn't quell the itching rise of the heated pulse and throb between her legs. Elsa's thumbs fit perfectly into the dimples of her hips. "I'm going to take such excellent care of you." Ryu exhaled heavily knowing Elsa didn't just mean now.
"You made tonight so special. Everything was perfect…well" for second Elsa's mind loaned some energy to the moss soup which had Ryu vomiting in a bush and cringed smiling. "Not perfect but I still loved it all the same."
"Well Anna and the others helped as well." Ryu's words were slurred, drunk on Elsa's touch and voice.
"Mhm. Goodness glaciers Ryu touching you, it is amazing. I appreciate it when you let me touch you like this. When you let me make you feel good."
A bubble of laughter shook Ryu's breast, she lifted her head smirking lopsidedly. "Goodness glaciers?" Elsa blushed fiercely looking away to an empty space. "It slipped out."
Ryu tilted her head, her expression shining with nothing but mischief and fondness. "Bit on the nose isn't it?"
Elsa held her head high, squaring her shoulders. The masquerade of regality relieving some of her embarrassment. "I know what I am and I'll take that with stride Ms. Periwinkle." They stared at one another until the giggling overtook them into fits of hysteria.
Calming down, Ryu leaned up on her elbows, her hand ran up and down Elsa's arm. "I want to make you feel good too, Erusa." Elsa cupped Ryu's cheek.
"You already do. You make me feel so treasured and now I'm going to do the same to you." What is Elsa talking about? Ryu had never touched her before as intimately as she did.
Ryu submitted against Elsa's seduction pressing her face hard against her clavicle, breathing fast in tandem with her massaging hands. It's not as if she wanted her to stop either.
She wasn't certain how Elsa resisted her touch when she was drenched in the scent of arousal. Was it painful for her? Ryu wondered. No it couldn't have been, maybe Elsa was just a creature of more self control than Ryu, she kind of already knew that in a general sense, so it must have been true when it came to intimacy.
"Mmm now spread yourself for me- that's it good girl." Elsa lowered herself down. Ryu couldn't help but feel exposed as the spirit came in direct eye line with her needy dripping slit. She felt Elsa's panting breath and words against her intimate opening. "Gorgeous." Her eyes were wide and looked nearly feral as she took in every single detail of Ryu, they only slid shut when she placed soft kisses along her inner thighs.
Elsa's nostrils flared, pulling in as much of Ryu's aroused scent as she could, refusing to exhale for as long as she could, just to keep her inside her lungs.
When Ryu began squirming again confused how Elsa's touch could feel so good yet be so frustratingly unsatisfactory at the same time.
"Patience please Ryu, I know you like it with all that noise you're making darling, be good for me."
Ryu recollected how it felt when Elsa scruffed her, how degrading it was, only to beguile her into being good. Elsa never demanded despite how bossy she was, she seduced Ryu into listening.
"Erusa!" Ryu cried, at the sudden shock and intrusion of Elsa's mouth pressing harshly against her sensitive slit. Her cold mouth and tongue scorched her.
Elsa groaned long and hard as if she could feel the exact same pleasure Ryu felt from her touch as she licked into her, tasting her now for the first time straight from the source. Elsa's restraint tossed away her teasing, sheathing her tongue fully inside. It only slipped out when Ryu writhed to the left. To remedy this Elsa wrapped her arms around Ryu's hips pinning her in place.
The sounds of Elsa's tongue and Ryu's panting made her stomach clench almost painfully, transforming the butterflies within into vespids at how lewd and vulgar. Her own pussy clenched against nothing.
Oh goodness.
Ryu's taste spilled out molten onto Elsa's tongue whenever she withdrew it. Ryu began babbling in Japanese her lustful needs and wants, arching her hips more firmly against Elsa's face. "God, Ryu, I can feel how much you love this. Do you want me to give you more?" Elsa said as she fucked her tongue back inside Ryu's throbbing heat closing her eyes so to focus her senses. Each time prior to thrusting in she suckled Ryu's labia, taking the lip into her mouth to nibble and kiss at the flesh.
Ryu nodded but Elsa's eyes remained closed, still waiting for an answer. She answered too fast in Japanese for Elsa to translate. Ceasing her onslaught she laid her head against Ryu's thigh staring up at her as she rubbed her stomach replying in the same language. "You have to speak slower for me Ryu." Watching in fascination at the sight of Ryu's throat bobbing when she gulped.
"I uh, I do please Elsa more." Knowing what she was about to do would definitely have her dragon contorting in complex ways given how flexible she was Elsa tightened her hold around her and pressed her tongue downward feeling the little nub. It was one of the three Elsa was determined to caress.
When Elsa's tongue left her the foreign yet familiar feeling of a probing finger replaced it plunging into Ryu, it wasn't shy or timid but instead brazen and definitely had a destination in mind. "Good girl, so good for me." Elsa sounded delirious with pleasure adding a second finger. "Nngh! You're so tight, I can barely fit my other finger. Just relax Ryu." The fit was unyielding around Elsa's cold fingers, scorching, the opposing temperatures nearly made her faint, she billowed her cheeks releasing measured breaths to keep steady.
"Erusa I- please I'll be good for you, I promise!"
Elsa rose higher kissing Ryu's mouth murmuring chants into her lips. "I know, I know, I know, I know, you're so perfect." If it weren't for Elsa's relaxing velvet voice and equally secure touches Ryu could have sworn she'd leave this plane of existence wrapping her arms around her shoulders, she folded her nails into her palms not caring how much it hurt, she wouldn't exude that pain onto Elsa's back.
Elsa tried to go back down, but Ryu kept her rooted in place. Elsa whined, connecting their cheeks. "I want you to finish in my mouth Ryu. Please." It was Elsa's turn to beg prying Ryu's hands away to get to her quim before she released herself.
"So precious." Elsa drove her wild with her hands that seemed to all over at once, she didn't want to waste any time reminding Ryu who she belonged to even without implying it Ryu knew.
Keeping her mouth open against Ryu, Elsa felt her stomach and scales clench so tightly they'd surely cramp when they decided to release from the spasms. A balmy spurt left her body sucked in greedily by Elsa, the others followed to be drunk down. Elsa's ears chimed at the trills Ryu sang out clenching her jaw tightly. She wanted to bite her.
To placate the dragon Elsa offered her wrists wincing when Ryu clasped it tightly yowling low in her throat. It would have to do for now, knowing how important the deed was for female dragons. Even though their coupling would be by no means fruitful, Ryu's body still demanded that she keep her partner still to ensure they had bred successfully.
Elsa pulled away licking her lips when Ryu released her wrists. As she climbed back up the dragon curled up close to her. Elsa was happy to soothe her emotional state with kind words and caresses. She hated herself for how careless she had been in the past when she left Ryu mild and open feeling vulnerable without the security of her partner. Dragons had not been creatures of casual flings at least not often and females especially felt incredibly unguarded when softened and aroused.
The turmoil she caused Ryu had Elsa determined to make it up to her.
"Erusa?" She glanced down at the girl in her arms having thought she had fallen asleep.
"May I touch you now?" Ryu asked beseechingly. Her hopeful eyes would be difficult to refuse. She was an innocent thief stealing Elsa's affections and heart, and Elsa remained an all willing victim.
Elsa sucked in air, it came out in the form of a chilled puff telling of the room's lower temperature as Ryu awaited an answer patiently all while her initial façade of control now shattered completely. It was only fair, Ryu had given so much of herself over twice now. Elsa didn't understand the sinking dread settling like a rock in her stomach at the very thought of being touched by Ryu, but the thought of Ryu finding a reason– any reason to grow weary of their relationship instilled a terrible anxiety within the cracks of Elsa's insecurities.
She was obviously attracted to her, so why did she feel so repulsed by the idea of Ryu reciprocating? Her arousal sank low past the floor and perhaps even the earth itself. Elsa closed her eyes to focus what should have been fervor.
Nodding but still making no move to initiate the contact, Ryu must have taken this as an invitation to take the lead and unclasped Elsa's cape, her fingers dragged languidly across Elsa's shoulders.
"Ryu?" She hushed her tone, cursing the tremors crack in her tone.
"Yes Erusa?" Elsa swallowed and shook her head once. Ryu's touch faltered slightly. "I'll be gentle, I promise. I won't hurt you." She gulped. This had to have been just first time jitters, she felt that she still should have at least been a small bit excited.
There was no room for any positive reactions inside as Elsa lay down stiffly, Ryu was benign, her touches so close to that of a feather. Elsa so desperately wanted to make this worth it yet couldn't look at her, turning her head to the side, clenching her eyes shut.
Ryu kissed the corner of her mouth and hitched Elsa's dress up, sliding her fingers along her thighs. Elsa's heart thundered so hard within her chest she was certain by the end of this her ribs would be broken.
The urge to close her legs was strong but with a rocky resolve Elsa remained placid beneath her. How did Ryu do this so willingly?
Then Ryu's touch was gone along with her delightful warmth, Elsa could feel the empty space above her and cracked her eyes open, Ryu sitting back on her knees, head tilted met her vision, taking in the state of Elsa, expression unreadable.
"Erusa, be honest-" Her voice was flat and devoid of any implicative emotion. "Do you want me to touch you?" They stared at the other, even though Elsa hadn't opened her mouth Ryu saw her answer in her eyes. Sighing she broke the gaze turning it to the side tonguing her cheek.
"We don't have to." Elsa shook her head as Ryu slid to the edge of the bed. "I'm sorry," Elsa admitted, her eyes downcast. "If I don't understand why I– why my body is reacting this way, if I were you I'd be frustrated with me too."
"It's fine Erusa I guess I just don't understand." Reading the hurt in Ryu's eyes, Elsa moved closer to her resting her cheek helplessly to Ryu's shoulder blade. She didn't know what was wrong with her, she enjoyed intimacy with Ryu clearly. "Ryu, if you're thinking it's you, it's not. I wish I could give you a reason. I do enjoy being with you. Please know that."
"Do you?" Elsa was both offended and understanding of Ryu's doubt, she could smell, see, and feel how much Elsa enjoyed it. "Yes. I do. I just- when I think about not just you but anyone touching me that way I feel…horrible. This sense of dread starts building in my stomach. I don't know what's wrong with me. Perhaps I could… learn to like this." She hurried to explain.
"There's nothing wrong with you Erusa, you don't have to like something." Ryu began adding a darker quality to her octave. Elsa wished terribly she could read Ryu's mind, even just a small peak of what was going on in there behind those eyes. They weren't disappointed entirely, just confused and guilty. "I'm sorry I made you feel that way."
Elsa would not allow Ryu to blame herself and take responsibility for her own dysfunction. "It's not your fault Ryu. It's not your fault I'm-" she ashamedly stared at the sheets. "Broken."
"Maybe not broken per-say but definitely bent for sure. You give me so much and fix so many of my parts, even the ugly ones and I can't do the same." Blinking Ryu quickly corrected herself. "Not that you have any ugly parts, it's just intimacy with you is a lot like a tide." Elsa tilted her head at the comparison, as if she had heard the punch line but still wasn't sure why the joke was funny."It pulls you in then pushes you back out."
"We can try again eventually, and if it doesn't work we'll find a compromise." Elsa promised, Ryu wouldn't accept it, she couldn't articulate her point in a foreign tongue so she spoke the one she knew best. The language shift had put just as much of a barrier between them as did her subtle scooting away.
"I'm not going to make you compromise on something that repulses you, Elsa, I saw how you looked just then I felt like I was going to molest you. We can wait however long it takes for you to feel comfortable enough if ever. You're worth the wait even if it's forever. I'll wait forever for you Elsa. You can just give me a little bit, that's enough." Ryu had said it to herself mostly, nodding determinedly. "You don't judge me for how I am, so why would I judge and condemn you for this? Especially when I don't know the complexities of humans and mating yet." Elsa wouldn't let go of her so she could stand and possibly go into the forest. She needed Ryu here with her. She needed that reassurance the dragon gave her, those beautiful lies that she was totally normal for what had just occurred. Those lies Ryu told and believed genuinely.
That seeded lingering fear that she'd leave and not return surfaced again killing Elsa a little more. Where would she find another understanding lover like this? Who else would try to understand her in such a way even when the storms that raged on the inside made no sense? A person who had enough discipline to restrain themselves and offer their most precious thoughts, parts, emotions to an everlasting pit that wanted more always.
It was petrifying, that there wouldn't be another for her, someone willing to give so much yet receive so little in return and still care for her, someone who did not push and entrench their right to her inner thoughts and body.
"Please stay with me Ryu." Relief washed over Elsa as Ryu climbed back into bed. Every piece of her fit perfectly here to Elsa. When they faced each other Ryu offered a weak smile which Elsa returned laying her head on Ryu's chest concealing her in a hold that was too tight but she couldn't find it in herself to loosen and Ryu didn't seem to mind, kissing the top of her head.
Her gyakusetsu so impatient except when it counted most. So fierce and blunt yet so gentle and kind when she knew Elsa was in need of that side of her.
Elsa didn't like how careful Ryu's hands felt, never venturing or firm like how it used to be, her hold now was timid and unsure as if Elsa was a bomb that would explode with the smallest hint of recklessness. She hated it, it only reminded her of years ago when everyone had walked on eggshells around her after the big freeze at the fjord, everyone except Anna. This time however in comparison to them now Ryu stepped carefully along the thin ice afraid of hurting Elsa instead of the vice versa occuring.
They laid awake together in silence. Elsa wishing that she could have been normal, she knew the urges of what it felt like to want to please someone that she could relate with on Ryu's level and she felt sorry for depriving her from that satisfaction of having someone she cared about be vulnerable and open with her. She'd make it up to her just like everything else she had to repent for; things such as touching the dragon even before they had become an item in places that aroused her, prepping her for sex and leaving her frustrated and exposed. Things such as feeling repulsed to her touch in an intimate setting, things such as being a hypocrite by asking Ryu to give so much of herself while Elsa still couldn't bring herself to do that.
She'd fix this. Silent tears moistened Ryu's bare chest. Elsa wished
with all her heart that she could have been entirely Ryu's, she found herself longing for that moment. Was it fear? Fear that she wouldn't be enough? She didn't know.
Closing her eyes she willed away her dress to melt away wanting as little barriers between them as possible. Ryu's sharp breath lifted Elsa's head, she smiled at the strong and loud heart beat which thundered on only slowing after a few moments. It was a beautiful sound.
