Some time later, after Kushina and Logan arrived in Konoha:

The two of them were currently staying with Mito at the moment. They did not have a place to stay, after all, and their staying with her was tolerated because of two main reasons. The first was that Mito was the wife of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, sister-in-law to the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, and the first jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails following the events at the Valley of the End. The second reason was that Kushina herself was a full-blooded Uzumaki, whom Mito was sheltering because of what happened to her homeland. Though on top of that public reason, there was a personal reason as well, as she revealed to Logan on the day they had met. This world was, in fact, his future, as he was not on a different planet nor in an alternate dimension. He was somehow flung so far into the future that enough events had happened to cause Earth to be and look like it does now, after all. Although this was the second thing that she revealed to him, the first was that mutants still exist in this world. Mito did not know the details of how or why this was the case, just that anyone who had a power that could not be explained as being a jutsu and/or a type of bloodline limit was a mutant, at least by Mito's standards of the word, not Logan's. Then Mito revealed herself to be one such mutant, as well as Kushina. This was because of her ability to make the links of her adamantine sealing chains explode like fireworks. Though they had "sealing" in their name, they were also very capable of being used as weapons, depending on the scenario and circumstances. Thus, people who would be considered just normal humans by Logan's standards actually did not exist anymore, since even if someone did not know how to use ninjutsu or genjutsu at all, they were still able to use taijutsu. The details of how and why this was the case were not something that Mito could explain to Logan, just like how Logan could not fully explain how humanity was different to someone who predates all known history from his original time.

Mito was walking around with Kushina at the moment.

"Wait, so I am not going to be on Minato's team then?" Kushina asked.

"Yeah, that ended up being the case," Mito informed her.

"That idea got rejected as I might be the First Hokage's wife, amongst many other things as well. Although in the end, all that managed to get me was you being accepted as a genin of Konoha and Logan staying here as your guardian, considered my honored guest."

"He has done missions while in our homeland, right?" Mito asked, referring to Logan doing missions while staying there.

"Of course, as Logan is the best there is at what he does," Kushina said proudly.

"What does he do though?" she asked her.

"He does not ever tell me that," the young Uzumaki replied.

'Must not be very nice then,' Mito thought.

As they continued talking and walking, someone from Kushina's right came crashing into her as they reached a four-way intersection.

"What the hell! Watch where you are going!" a girl with black hair and black eyes said.

"ME? You were the one not watching where you were going, as you clearly did not see that we were already walking across this intersection first!" Kushina yelled back.

The girl then noticed that THE Mito Uzumaki was with her as she looked at who she was walking with.

"Figures," the girl said with a slight laugh of displeasure.

"What the hell was her problem?" Kushina said, glaring as the girl ran off.

Mito noticed the hair and the eyes, and once she saw the clan symbol the girl had on her clothing, she knew things might get heated between those two girls when they formally met again. Uzumakis might have the same ties to this clan as another clan does, but at the end of the day, despite that, Mito and Kushina's clan still had a distant blood relation, having apparently the same ancestor. Though enough time had passed that they were two separate bloodlines and clans, with only that one distant connection between them being known. The details of this link between their two clans had been lost to time, after all.

Kushina arrived at the academy, where they were having the genins that passed the previous exam being split up into the various teams for that term. Kushina was being brought in as a special case that was allowed to be included because they had an odd number of people that graduated this time around, so she was added to even out the numbers.

Mito was going about introducing Kushina to everyone and explaining why she was being allowed to join them because of her and the Third Hokage's backing. This was when Kushina and the black-haired, black-eyed girl from earlier noticed each other, and their eyes met.

'You,' both girls thought.

Mito saw this and then just sighed, as she hoped among hopes that things did not turn out like the last pairing she knew like this. Though maybe them meeting like this was a good sign—just trying to see the bright side of things instead of focusing only on what could be seen as negative.

Kushina then jumped up to where the black-haired girl was sitting, staring at her with a menacing glare. The girl, for her part, just leaned forward as if she was returning the glare, a sign that she was not going to back down.

However, someone moved in just the right way without realizing it, causing Kushina to fall forward and end up kissing the black-haired girl on the lips, shocking them both in the process.

This was the second meeting of Kushina Uzumaki and Mitoko Uchiha.
