I'm back everyone, I'm feeling a lot better but I want to take a moment to thank you all, I'm going to be saying the same thing in each story but it needs to be said.

I want to thank you all for your kind words and support. Thank you to everyone who sent in a review, whether it be here, on AO3, or wattpad, thank you to the few who sent me privet messages, I wasn't expecting that and made sure to respond.

I wasn't expecting so many people to show their support for me taking a break. It's been a little over a week since everything happened at the time I'm rewriting this and I want to let you all know I'm feeling better. All of your support helped, it helped me know I wasn't alone and that there was no need to rush while dealing with grief.

Thank you, every single one of you, for your continued support. Normally, the people who review are pretty constant, but I saw so many new names coming out of the woodwork to support me and I can not tell you what that meant to me.

Once again, thank you all so much your support has helped me so much in this last week.

Now, how about we get onto the reviews and then to the fun part, hm?

The error is in the link from other pages to this one, if you manually change 25 to 26 for the address while on the chapter 25 page, the manual link works

Me: Can someone let me know if this has been fixed or not? It works for me but I went and reuploaded the last two actual chapters but I don't know if others can see them or if they still get this error.

skylorbaker14 chapter 26. Nov 23, 2023

I don't remember you answering this question, but if Ember gets killed would she be poofed and be able to reform? I also don't worry about taking so long, there are fanfictions i've read that seem to only update every half a year

Me: Hmm that's a bit tricky, I don't know at the moment.

FicticiousFan chapter 26. Nov 25, 2023

Lily potter, already a technical grandmother to three gems made by her eleven-year-old daughter

Me: Yeah, I found that funny too :D

Onto the story~

It had been around four days since Ember had made Amethyst when she realized that she needed to go Christmas shopping. She didn't want to bother anyone to take her so she decided to go by herself.

Taking the floo to the leaky cauldron she then left to go look around Muggle London to see if there were any gifts she could get there. She already planned to get everyone two gifts this year, a muggle one and a magical one.

She explored around several stores looking for gifts she thought her friends and family would like.

For Pearl, she got her a fancy pen that she was planning to enchant so it never ran out of ink. She also got her several muggle books on some of the new muggle fashions that Pearl didn't have yet.

Ember got Jasper a few books on how to take care of a motorcycle, she would also give her enough muggle money to buy whatever motorcycle she wanted, Ember wasn't old enough to buy one herself, or else that would be Jasper's Christmas present.

Ember didn't know what to get Amethyst considering she hadn't been around long enough to know what she was interested in, so Ember got her a handheld gaming station along with some games for it. She also picked up some clothes for her as well.

She also didn't know what to get her mom and wasn't that weird that she was willingly shopping for a Christmas gift for her mom when just last year she would have willingly stabbed herself than think of getting her anything?

Ember already knew she was going to get her mom some of those magical journals that she used, she had a feeling that her mom would like that. She had to pick up a new journal for herself anyway, she wanted to use it to write down the history of the Gem race.

She figured that in the future, if she ever came forward with who and what she really was she could publish the book to help spread awareness. Now that she thought about it though that might not be the best idea, the history of the gems was pretty bad from what little she knew.

She might just write about the different gems instead along with a few interesting tidbits of information.

Ember shook her head to clear her mind before walking into a random store and started looking around. Eventually, she found a very nice green scarf that would match her mom's eyes along with a pair of matching gloves that she made sure to buy.

Now she just had to get something for Tilly, Bippy, Daphne, and Tracy. Ember might get something for Professor Flitwick but she would get him something from the magical world instead of the muggle one. She had a wonderful idea of what to get him.

Ember kept looking around the store before she found the perfect gifts.

She got them both blown glass figurines, Daphne got an arctic wolf and Tracy got an elephant. Ember was so lucky that she found figures of her best friend's favorite animals.

After buying the figurines, She left the store and headed to a different one. This store was focused on different kinds of fabric, sewing, knitting, and other things needed to make your own clothes. She bought enough for both elves to make themselves five different outfits.

After making sure she had everything she needed from the muggle world she took a taxi to the leaky cauldron and used it to access the magical alley.

Ember walked around the alley for an hour, picking up the perfect gifts for everyone there.

She picked up some magical silkworm silk for Pearl, it was expensive but she had the money to spoil her family. Ember figured if Pearl liked using this material then maybe she could buy a silkworm farm so Pearl would always be able to access it for her clothing.

She got two small daggers for Jasper, each came with its own sheath that Jasper could use to store them in. The daggers looked like they were made out of pure crystal with light green handles. The sheaths for them were green with white lines that looked like vines going up them.

She got a few books from the bookstore for Amethyst, she also got her a bracelet made of black gold with tiny purple and white gemstones in the shape of flowers on it. She hoped Amethyst liked it.

Ember found the perfect gift for her mom while looking around, it was a crystal Rose that bloomed when sunlight hit it every day, it would never die. It was surrounded by glass, it kinda reminded her of the rose in the Beauty and the Beast story she had read when younger.

She also found the perfect gifts for Daphne and Tracy in the same store. She found a set of three necklaces, each with a pendant with a different gem attached.

They were each made of white gold, it felt like it was fate for her to find them because each stone matched each girl's eyes.

The first one was on a white gold chain, the pendant was in the shape of a heart with a brilliant blue sapphire right in the middle, the sapphire matched Daphne's eyes perfectly.

The second one was the same as the first, the only difference was the gem was a brown onyx instead of a sapphire. The Onyx looked like the chocolate brown eyes Tracy had.

The third one was the same, only this one had a green diamond on it, she was a bit surprised it wasn't an emerald if she was being honest. Ember knew she had to get these for her and her friends.

It took a bit of convincing to the sales clerk that she could afford them but fifteen minutes later she walked out of the store with the necklaces and the crystal rose for her mom.

As she was walking to the leaky cauldron someone grabbed her wrist in a hard grip, she turned and found that the person who grabbed her was none other than James Potter who was glaring at her with hatred in his eyes.

"What did you do to Lily you little bitch, there's no way she would have willingly left me," He snarled softly, gripping her wrist harder.

Ember knew she was going to bruise from the grip. Gritting her teeth she tried to get him to let go without hurting him. When she showed Madam Bones her memories of this later she wanted it to be clear that Ember didn't use violence against James Potter right away.

"Let go of me, that hurts!" Ember cried out, attracting the attention of several others who noticed what was going on, including Sirius Black who quickly walked over.

"James, what the hell are you doing?" Sirius asked in surprise, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

James didn't seem to hear him or even notice that people were now watching as he twisted his daughter's arm in a way that was clearly painful, getting a dark smile when she cried out in pain.

"Good, maybe a little pain will remind you not to go against me, now where the fuck is Lily," James snarled once again.

Sirius took one look at his goddaughter's pain-filled face before his own became clear of emotions, he looked back at James, clenched his fist, and punched him so hard he fell to the ground.

Turning to Ember he scooped her up and rushed to the Leaky Cauldron, he then used the floo to get to St Mungo's to get her arm checked.

Ember stared up at Sirius Black's face with wide eyes, she had just been about to Kick James where it hurts when Sirius punched him and picked her up. She couldn't believe it, why would he act like this? Sure, he was her Godfather but he had always focused more on Damien than on her.

Thankfully her arm was only sprained and a potion healed that and the oncoming bruises right up. Ember made sure to get copies of the exam for when she filed her complaint.

She glanced at Sirius when he started to talk, "This isn't the first time he hurt you is it, That's why you ran away, isn't it?" His voice sounded sad, it was like he couldn't believe what his friend had turned into.

Ember gulped slightly, "Y-Yeah, I was scared," She didn't know why she was admitting this to him, maybe it was because he saved her or maybe it was because she didn't have any memories of him actually hurting her, sure he tried helping James with that marriage contract business not long ago but Ember was wondering what he had been told about the situation beforehand.

"Why did you help me?" Ember asked instead, she was curious.

"No child should be hurt by their parents like that, "Sirius responded with a soft voice, "James should have never laid a hand on you like that."

"Why did you go along with trying to marry me to Ronald?" She finally asked what had been bothering her.

"I'm not the best person Ember, even I'll admit that. There's a lot of my life I look back on in regret, one of those times was not being able to find you when you went missing," Embers eyes widened when hearing this.

"When I heard from James that you had been found I was so relieved that you were alive, then he told me that you had a new guardian and he was worried that she was only doing it for the money-" Ember cut him off.

"We have a contract with the Goblins that she and her sister Pearl signed stating they aren't able to take advantage of me or my money."

Sirius looked upset hearing that, "James never mentioned that, I went along with the contract because Dumbledore said it would get you safe from being robbed blind, I was shocked when after you left James turned to Dumbledore and asked how they were going to get their hands on the Ravenclaw money now."

Ember wasn't surprised to hear that the contract had just been a way to get their hands on her money, what she was surprised about, however, was the fact that Sirius hadn't known that.

At least that's what he's saying, she didn't know one way or the other if he was telling the truth.

"Well, thank you for getting me away from James and for bringing me to get healed, I have to get home now though," She trailed off, Merlin was Jasper going to be mad, not at Ember but at James.

"Oh right, of course, try to stay safe okay?" Sirius said as he watched Ember leave the room and head to the floo, relaxing when she gave him a slight smile and nod.

Ember used the floo to get home before searching out Jasper and informed her about what had happened. She was right that Jasper was furious, Ember convinced her to calm down and press charges on Ember's behalf for the way James treated her.

Jasper got a dark smirk on her face, "Oh, I can do that my Diamond, let me take care of this."

She watched as Jasper left the room with the copy of Ember's medical exam. She shrugged and then went to her room and started carefully wrapping the gifts she bought, using magic to summon wrapping paper. There was a reason she didn't buy any while she was out, magic was so useful.
