Hell yeah, I've actually been inspired to write these stories. It normally takes a bit for me to get into writing after I update these things. Doesn't help that I'm sick though :(. Anyways onto the reviews.

Project Infinite chapter 29. Mar 4

Something tells me Jasper had something to do with this article.

Me: Maybe she had a small hand in it hehe.

Marcii Winters chapter 2 . Mar 6

DUDE, FUCKIN FINALLY

I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A CROSSOVER WHERE THE MC EITHER IS OR BECOMES A GEM LIKE

AAAAAAAAAAAA!

GEMS ARE PROBABLY MY FAVORITE RACE IN FICTION!

Me: I've mentioned this before but I was actually inspired to write this story when i read "The rise of Helen Diamond" it's a lot darker than my own story but it's still a nice read. It's not been updated since 2020 though.

I also recently read Indigo Diamond, once again sadly it's not being continued.

Onto the story!

Dumbledore stared at that day's paper with a frown, he had known that James had an issue with controlling his anger but as it worked for his plans he hadn't bothered to do anything about it. Now it seems his not trying to make James get a handle on his anger was coming back to bite him in the ass. He couldn't believe how stupid the man was, what did he think would happen when he hurt his daughter in the middle of a very busy street?

Now people were speculating that this wasn't the first the the man had hurt his daughter, the fact that they would be correct wasn't what bothered Albus Dumbledore it was the fact that people were going to lose their trust in the Potter family thanks to this stunt.

He had to figure out what to do, normally he would go down to the Dailey Prophet and ask them kindly to print something to clear up the misunderstanding but he had recently learned that Lady Peverell owned most of the newspaper. He learned that the woman had ordered the newspaper to only print the truth with facts to back their words up from now on.

This was bad for him, he used the newspaper to discredit his political enemies, he hasn't had to do so for the past few years which is why he hadn't realized the papers had this new policy in place.

He would have to talk to James and stress how lucky he was that the DMLE hadn't granted Ember a magical restraining order thanks to this mess, if James went after her like yesterday again then there was no guarantee that she wouldn't be granted the restraining order.

He would also have a word with Damien and Ronald to tell them to leave Ember alone for now, there was still plenty of time for the plans to work out. If it hadn't been for Ember having had an adult with her at the meeting he would have steamrolled over all of her protests but unfortunately, he didn't want to risk making waves against someone he didn't know of.

All he knew of Jasper and Pearl Gem was that they both worked for Lady Peverell, everything seemed to lead back to that woman. If he could figure out who she was then it would be simple to plan an accident for her. He knew that if he could just figure out her identity then everything would get back on track.

~With Damien~

Damien frowned as he read the papers, memories of his father hurting his sister flashed through his mind. Back then he thought it was great fun to break stuff and blame it on Ember but looking back he couldn't help but feel like there was a ball of lead in the bottom of his stomach.

He knew that a parent hurting their children wasn't right, at least now he did but back then he hadn't known any better. It wasn't that he cared about Ember, of course, he didn't!

Okay, maybe he cared just a little, she was his twin after all. It would be strange if he didn't care about his sister at all, he didn't show he cared though.

His head snapped up when he heard footsteps outside of his bedroom door, he relaxed when he heard that it was just his Uncle Padfoot asking if he could come in.

Sirius walked in and sat next to Damien, "Hey pup, how are you holding up?"

Damien kept staring down at the newspaper in his hands and shrugged in response. Sirius sighed softly and gently took the paper away from the boy before banishing it.

"Want to talk about it?" Sirius made sure that his tone made it clear that Damien had the right to refuse to talk about it. There was silence for a few moments and Sirius thought that he wouldn't talk before Damien started speaking, his voice soft and unsure.

"I don't understand, if dad knew that hurting his kids was bad then why would he do it?" Damien asked, looking up at Sirius. His face looked lost and it reminded Sirius that Damien was still just a child, he might be a hero to the wizarding world and the boy-who-lived but he was still just a child.

He gently wrapped the boy up and held him to his side, he made a mental note about the way Damien melted into his side, "I can't speak for your dad pup, I have no idea why he thought that this would be okay but if you ever need me I'm just a call away, remember?"

Damien nodded, he remembered that Sirius gave him a mirror that was charmed like those muggle phone things his mom tried telling him about. He had actually been a bit interested in how the cell phones worked without magic before his dad came in and yelled at his mom for teaching him 'muggle crap'.

Damien's eyes widened, wait, was his dad one of those pureblood snobs that hated or at least disliked muggles? Was this one reason why he kept hurting Ember?

Damien remembered seeing his twin in the family library several times reading books on math and other muggle subjects that their mom had bought for homeschooling them, only James refused to let her teach the twins anything more than they would need at Hogwarts.

Damien had been happy to go along with it, less work to do after all, but Ember was always the more studious out of the two twins.

~ Time Skip ~

Ember laughed as she rushed into the living room that her family decided to use for Christmas presents that year. Since there were a few sitting rooms throughout the manor, each year the small family would choose one to use for Christmas.

Ember plopped down on the loveseat her mom was sitting on and laughed when Lily gave her a side eye since she almost spilled her tea over herself, Ember wasn't worried since she saw the smile her mom tried to hide.

"Calm down my diamond, the presents aren't going anywhere," Pearl laughed as she walked in after Ember. Pearl was wearing an ugly Christmas sweater, she normally wouldn't wear this style of sweater but as Jasper and Ember told her, Christmas was the perfect time to relax and wear it.

Jasper walked in behind Pearl with Amethyst, she was laughing, "Aw come on Pearl, let her be excited it's Christmas!"

Jasper shared a look with Amethyst before smirking, she rushed up behind Pearl and picked her up before jumping onto the couch with her in her arms.

"JASPER!" Pearl screeched before breaking down into giggles, "You big brute, get off of me," She couldn't hide the smile on her face as she continued to giggle, some of her hair had fallen out of her bun and framed her face.

Jasper snickered before she put her head on Pearl's shoulder, and laid down on top of her, "Hmmm, Nope I don't think I will, I'm comfy right here," Jasper smiled into Pearl's neck when she heard her Diamond trying to stifle her giggles.

Amethyst snickered, "I'll pass out the gifts if you want Pearl."

Pearl sighed, acting exasperated with this situation but was in all honestly having just as much fun as Jasper was, "If you could, Amethyst Please."

Amethyst nodded, trying to hold back her laughter as she passed out the gifts, she was happy to find that she had gifts too. She didn't know why she wouldn't have any but she was happy.

Lily covered her mouth to hide her amused smile, "Jasper could you perhaps let Pearl up so you two can open your gifts with us?"

Jasper turned to give Lily a pout before letting out a dramatic sigh and sitting up, instead of letting Pearl go though she pulled the other gem onto her lap and held her there in a lost grip. It was clear that Pearl could get out of the hold if she wanted to but all she did was sigh with a small smile on her face.

Lily just shook her head in amusement before nodding at Amethyst who handed the two cuddling gems their presents. Soon everyone started opening their presents, each thanking the others for their thoughtful gifts.

Ember was excited about her gifts, she had seen she had two gifts from her friends, and while she was curious but decided to leave those two for last.

From her mom, she got a new rune carving set. She and her mom have been spending most of the holidays experimenting with runes and muggle objects. This meant her mom was able to see that her daughter's carving set was getting dull and that it was time for a new kit.

Amethyst got her some of her favorite chocolate, Ember was surprised since she hadn't really expected anything from the still-newborn gem. She made sure to thank the purple gem and praise her for the chocolates, she smiled when Amethyst beamed in pride.

Pearl and Jasper worked together to get her four rare spell tombs, Lily had to prod Ember into opening the rest of her gifts since she wanted to dive right into the books. The two gems looked proud that their Diamond liked their gift so much, the two had saved up their money from their jobs to be able to get the four tombs for the eleven-year-old.

Ember pouted as she set the books to the side before she picked up a gift and froze when she saw the names on it, there was a letter from Gringotts attacked so she quickly opened that first.

Dear Princess Ember,

I know you might be worried about the contents of this present thanks to the names of the senders, but I assure you that we here at Gringotts have checked, double-checked, and even triple-checked to make sure there were no spells or anything else that could harm you attacked.

We do believe that you will like the gift and are under the impression that this is the sender's way of apologizing to you.

Ember bit her lip before deciding to get it over with, she was curious and wondered why her brother and godfather would get her something for Christmas.

Opening the present she was surprised to see a clumsily made bracelet. It was made by someone who didn't know what they were doing but Ember teared up as she realized that her brother made this for her, he made this with his own two hands.

It meant so much more to her than anything he could have bought, she carefully took it out of the box before she started casting spells on it. Firstly, she cast a charm to keep it from breaking, another was cast so only she could take it off when she was wearing it, and a third charm was cast so it was self-cleaning.

After she cast the spells she put the bracelet on, this was now her favorite gift she got this year. It didn't matter that she still had to open the two gifts from her friends, her brother went out of his way to do something he wasn't good at just for her.

She took a couple of minutes to gather herself, thankful when she noticed that the others were looking away and therefore giving her some space.

She took a breath and let it out before she turned to her last two gifts, she decided to open Tracy's first and found out that she got her a headband with a light green, black, and white butterfly on it.

Ember laughed before she turned to Daphne's gift, she laughed again when she opened it and realized her friends must have talked about what to get her.

Inside the box that held Daphne's gift were two butterfly berets, the berets matched the headband perfectly.

Ember smiled as she gathered up her presents and took them to her room, never taking off the bracelet on her wrist.
