I hope you all enjoy this chapter, I had a bit of writer's block and it didn't turn out the way I liked around the middle but I like the end bit a lot more. While trying to get over the writers block for this story and the secret inheritence one, I wrote a oneshot that will be going into my oneshot heavens story, I suggest you read it. It's called "Hala Potter the moon goddess", please be sure to read the warnings above the actual story though.
Anyway, I've gotten a DM from someone who said they didn't like how I answered reviews and said it was me just "Padding my chapters." I would just like to address that real fast, I'll be doing the same in my other stories.
I'm going to say the same thing I said in the response, I do the responding to my reviews in my stories because it helps me to answer questions that a lot of you might have, this way I don't have to try to respond to the same question over and over again in privet dms.
Secondly, Me responding to reviews helps me build a better reader/writer bond, I've seen people say that they were happy I chose to respond to their reviews in my stories before. This helps build a better bond so I like to do this.
I figured this was a better way to do things instead of posting the story and needing to respond to a million different reviews about the same thing, which would cause me to get burnt out and then lose interest in the story.
Anyways enough talk let's start responding to your reviews now, shall we?
DragonicTexan36 chapter 30. Apr 10
I have to say I am pleasantly surprised and invested in this story. I like the fact that you redeemed Lily and are in the process of redeeming Damian. I will say that I haven't seen Stephen Universe and to be fair my perception of it was influenced by a YouTube video but luckily one only needs basic information on the Gems to enjoy this story. Keep up the good work I will be looking forward to more chapters.
Me: I'm glad my story has pleasantly surprised you. I'm also glad you like me redeeming Lily and trying to redeem Damian, I saw someone on AO3 that wasn't as happy about me doing that.
I also try to make it so you don't need to have watched Steven Universe before to understand my story, yes some parts are taken from the show, like the diamonds but you don't need to have seen the show to understand them or what's going on.
Marcii Winters chapter 30 . Mar 17
WAAAAAAAAAA
I did not expect Damien to be so sweet!
I genuinely teared up!
Me: Hehe he's a sweet boy when he allows himself to be, I didn't mean to make you cry though even if they might have been good tears!
Also thanks for all the reviews you've left on this story, they've made me smile with how energetic they were.
Irina Akashira chapter 30. Mar 16
Ty for the update
With this chapter's setting, I can imagine Sirius trying to mediate between both siblings
On the other hand, I think you should explain some moment why was Ember neglected to such extreme by James.
Me: I'll explain right now why he's like that, in my mind, for this story, James. . . Is a jerk, he's pigheaded and dislikes that his daughter was interested in muggle things. (As you can see last chapter when Damien was thinking things through.) he's also sexist and doesn't care for Ember all that much besides what the Ravenclaw money can do for them.
There's more to it but it's hard to put those thoughts for his characters in words others will understand, besides he's just an asshole in this story.
Okay, this actually took a bit so let's get into the story, shall we?
It was the night before Ember would take the train back to Hogwarts and she was lying in bed trying to get some sleep but she wasn't having an easy time of it. She kept tossing and turning, not able to find a comfortable enough position to fall asleep in. She felt high-strung and she didn't know why!
Eventually, after half an hour of tossing and turning, she sat up and called for Bippy who brought her a dreamless sleep when she asked for it. Ember didn't use these potions often, they could be addicting but she needed her rest for tomorrow, and one once in a while wouldn't hurt her. It was only when you took a dreamless sleep several days in a row that it started negatively affecting a person after all.
She sighed at the fact that she had to resort to using a potion to get some sleep before she drank it as fast as she could and layed down. The potion started working within moments, she felt her eyelids get heavier and heavier before they finally closed and she drifted off into sleep.
When she opened her eyes again she was in the white void, her eyes widened in shock. The dreamless potion was supposed to send a person into a dreamless sleep so what was going on?
She spotted the four women she had seen last time, the four were facing away from her so none of them had spotted her yet.
Ember didn't know if she should stay silent or let the older woman know she was there. In the end, she didn't have to choose because the shortest one turned around, clearly feeling Ember's eyes on them. The second she spotted her the pink gem squealed and ran over to Ember and scooped her up into a hug.
Her actions caught the attention of the other diamonds as the three of them turned to look at what caused their younger sister to act like this.
Blue smiled softly when she saw the organic diamond hybrid had returned, she would admit that she had been quite worried for the younger gem. She had been worried sick about her, hearing that someone had tried to shatter the newly created diamond when she was still young had come as a shock.
She could only be thankful that whoever had tried to shatter her new youngest sister had failed. If she ever found out who had tried to shatter her, and was ever able to get out of this white void of a prison, she would make them wish they had never been formed.
Yellow's shoulders relaxed minutely when she spotted Green Diamond in Pink's arms, she would never admit it but she too, like Blue, had been worried for the smaller diamond. Who knew what kind of danger the little one was in?
She eyed up the smaller diamond and frowned, while she looked to be in good shape she could also use some more training. She would have to work with White and Green to figure out how Green could appear here and then help her learn how to come here willingly.
After that Yellow would work on a training schedule with the smaller diamond, she might have to shapeshift to be around the same size as Green but she was willing to do so.
White held back a chuckle when she saw how excited Pink was to see Green. Pink had always been the more excitable of the four older diamonds, she must be so happy to have a younger sister, one that was closer to her in age than Pink was to Blue.
White would have to instruct Green on how to create new gems from the surface of other planets, Green would have to be the one to revive Homeworld, and maybe one day she would find a way to bring the four older diamonds back to life.
She did realize that Ember already knew how to make gems, she didn't remember that the organic diamond had mentioned offhandedly that she already had a Pearl and a Jasper. White also had no clue that there was a new, better way, to make new gems that didn't involve destroying other planets full of life.
Pink hugged the younger diamond tightly, she had a huge smile on her face. She couldn't believe that Green was back, she was sure that she wouldn't see her again, or at least not for a long time but here she was not long after she left!
Ember managed to find a way out of the older girl's arms and stumbled on the ground gasping for air, "Oh Merlin." She spun around to look at Pink Diamond with a stern look, "Please remember I am still part human and need to breathe, not to mention I think you might have broken a rib or at least sprained it with that hug."
Pink looked at her confused, "Rib? What's a rib, Green?"
White stepped forward looking curious, "Yes Green, please tell us what a rib is."
Ember looked at the two older diamonds baffled before she remembered that Pearl, Jasper, and Amethyst's bodies were just holograms of some kind but with mass. The three gems felt like their bodies were real, they could do everything that a human with a body could but they didn't have any bones or organs. If someone were to try to photograph the inside of their bodies then all the photos would show would be the gem.
Remembering this she understood that these four gems probably didn't interact with organic species often enough to know about what went on inside of them.
"I'm half human, that means that I have the same insides as humans. Your bodies are holograms with mass, my body is real so I need stuff on the inside to help keep it working and keep me moving."
Blue gasped, "What about when you poof?"
Ember blinked before pailing, "I-I don't know what would happen to me then, I haven't seen a gem poof but I do know it can happen but I'm human just as much as I am gem so what would happen?"
Yellow spoke up, "We'll have to train you so we never have to find out," Her voice sounded serious.
Blue nodded, "Indeed, you mentioned that someone tried to shatter you when you were newly formed, that is serious."
Ember nodded slowly, "I know it is, I'm already training with some of the finest warriers on earth, the Goblin race is well known for their metal work, their honor, and their warriers."
White tilted her head in curiosity, "Dear Green, what is a goblin?"
Ember blinked before smiling slightly, "Ah right, you wouldn't know what I'm talking about," she hummed before patting herself down and smiling wide when she found her wand on her.
"Give me a moment and I'll show you," Ember smiled at the four bigger women who were looking at the wand in her hand confused. She just chuckled and conjured a chair before transfiguring it into a statue of Grinlast.
She smiled at the exclaims of surprise that came from three of the four Diamonds in front of her. White might not have let any sound of surprise out but she did let her eyes widen just a tad.
"This statue is a replica of a real life goblin, he's the one in charge of my vaults to help keep my money safe and to help when I need it," Ember smiled as she turned to White, "The Goblin race are also the only people outside of my small family that know that I'm a diamond, they've decided that I am a princess and even gave me a tiara for my birthday one year."
White carefully picked up the statue and turned it around as she examined it, "How did you make this, Green?" White asked as she set the statue back down.
"Oh I just used magic, It was easier to use it here than back home but I guess that's because this is technically a dream for me," Ember shrugged when she finished speaking. She had noticed that it was easy to have her magic do what she wanted it to do while here, normally it would be harder to conjure something and then turn that into a statue.
"The statue should turn back into a chair eventually and then the chair will vanish, I didn't focus on making them permanent."
Ember spent the rest of the night chatting with the four diamonds and learning more about them, she told them about herself in return. She didn't know how often she would be able to come to this white void but she was happy that she was at least able to meet these four amazing women.
When Ember woke up in the morning she sighed softly and got up to get ready for the day ahead of her. She was both looking forward to and dreading going back to Hogwarts today.
The first thing she did was grab her Hogwarts uniform and then went to take a shower before getting ready for the day ahead of her. Ember then went down and had breakfast with her family, today would be the last time in a bit she would see Pearl.
She would see her mom often because she was the muggle studies Professor at Hogwarts, Lily had already cleared having Amethyst as her bodyguard with the school board and the deputy headmistress McGonagall.
Ember knew the Headmaster would try to stir trouble but according to the school charter, anyone who felt like they were in danger had a right to have a bodyguard. It was an old rule from back when Heirs to noble families were targeted to hurt their families, it was still a rule on the books since it hadn't been taken off.
She would also probably see Jasper off and on throughout the rest of the year as the Headmaster would try to corner her in his office. If things kept up the way they were then Ember would have to make another gem to be a bodyguard for herself, it would probably help Jasper, Pearl, and her mom relax a bit.
Ember hummed as she stepped out of the floo onto Platform Nine and three quarters, she would bring a bodyguard next year for sure.
She hugged Jasper and Pearl goodbye before boarding the train and heading off to find a compartment. She stopped to say hi and chat with a few of her classmates, she even saw her brother and gave him a soft smile and waved at him with the hand that she had the bracelet he made for her on it.
The way his face lit up when he spotted her wearing the bracelet made her heart lighten, maybe there was a chance they could be proper siblings one day, right now they were strangers to one another but one day she hoped they could be family the way they were meant to be.
She stumbled across Daphne and Tracy in one of the compartments and joined them, she smiled when she saw that her two friends were wearing their necklaces like she was.
The two girls tried to lecture her about spending so much on gifts for them but Ember wouldn't hear any of it, she explained that she wanted something to represent her friendship with them, they were her first friends her age and she truly cared about them.
"Curse you for using your emotions against us Ember," Daphne pouted while Tracy nodded in agreement, a pout of her own on her lips.
Her friend's words and actions caused Ember to laugh, this was why she was bothering to even come back to Hogwarts. There were plenty of other schools out there but she would never want to leave behind her two best friends to go to one of them.
She was willing to put up with annoying Headmasters, annoying red-heads, and her biological father to stay friends with these two girls, the rest of the trip was spent having fun as a group of three.
