Outside the room of Team Wings of Victory, Shun and Yuzu watched as Rin angrily slammed her fist against the door.
"As soon as he got back, he told everyone he needed some time alone...I assumed he needed time to mentally prepare...but..." Yuzu uttered as sweat dropped from her head.
"...He just sleeping, isn't he...?" Shun sighed as the group heard the sound of snoring coming from behind the locked door.
"I can't really blame him...he's had a lot of rough duels in the past 24 hours..." Yuzu noted.
"Yeah...his body and mind must be exhausted..." Shun added.
"He's had almost three hours to sleep and his duel is less than an hour away! It's time to wake up!" Rin yelled as she started kicking at the door.
"After a few moments, the door swung open, causing Rin's foot to collide with Yugo's stomach.
"GAAAAH!" Yugo cried in pain before falling to the ground.
"That's what you get for being such a heavy sleeper!" Rin angrily shouted.
"She really shows no mercy..." Yuzu nervously laughed.
"She may look like her...but she's nothing like Ruri..." Shun said in shock.
"How could you be so irresponsible with your time?!" Rin nagged.
"I'm sorry! I'm just...so...tired..." Yugo groaned as he began to doze off.
"Stop falling asleep!" Rin yelled, causing Yugo to snap back to reality.
"I'm up! I'm up! Why are you guys here, anyway?" Yugo asked.
"Yugo...how much time do you think you have before your duel?" Rin quietly asked as she looked down, causing a shadow to cast over her face.
"Um...three hours...right...?" Yugo nervously uttered due to the green haired girl's expression creeping him out.
"You had three hours...two and a half hours ago!" Rin irritated shouted.
"That means...I only have half an hour until the title match?!" Yugo realized before frantically scurrying back into his room and grabbing his deck.
"To think he could actually become the king today..." Rin murmured to herself with a pout as the boy continued to frantically move around, running through the doorway and leaving his friends behind.
"H-Hey, Yugo! We came to-"
"I'll be in the workshop with my D-Wheel!" Yugo cut Yuzu off as he continued to run.
"Hey! Don't mess with our D-Wheel!" Rin angrily yelled as she chased after the boy, leaving Yuzu and Shun behind, who were equally confused as to what just transpired.
"Gotta run...like the wind..." Yugo uttered to himself in between breaths as he finally reached his destination.
The boy breathed heavily as he walked into the workshop, only to be met by a familiar face.
"Y-You!" Yugo gasped, snapping out of his exhaustion as his eyes widened.
"Hey, Yugo." Yuya greeted his counterpart with a smile.
"What are you doing here, Yuya? I'd thought you'd be resting after our big match. After the duels with Sergey and Yuri, you must be even more worn down than me." Yugo said in a somewhat concerned tone.
"Yeah...don't forget the duels with the Obelisk Force and Barrett too..." Yuya sighed as the scratched the back of his head. "I tried to rest, but I couldn't sleep either. There was something that I had to do that preventing me from resting."
"Eh?" Yugo said in confusion as Yuya walked towards him.

Yuzu and Ruri rest their heads on Yuya and Yuto's shoulders respectively, who in turn drape an arm around them. Rin does the same with Yugo, who blushes redder than Yuya's hair. It is a touching scene….

… the screen falls to reveal the Fusion Counterparts falling into darkness. Yuri grins wickedly as his eyes are whited out by a violet glow. Behind him is the shadow of an older boy, face obscured with a monstruous, inhuman smile on his face. Above him, Serena holds out her hand, desperately trying to reach her former friend. The gem on her bracelet shines like a star, cutting through the miasma that surrounds them. Behind her is the golden spirit of an older girl, trying to reach out to the figure behind Yuri as tears flow. The older teens vanish as the Fusion Counterparts' silhouettes turn to black and a large, sinister pair of draconic eyes open wide behind them.
I'll Challenge All My Limits
Crow, Kiryu, the Black Rose Witch, and Jack race in a line on the highway and call forth their dragons; Black-Feather, Infernity Void, Black Rose, and Red Daemon's.

Yuto stands alone on a battle field with explosions occurring in the background. Yuto lets out a primal scream as Dark Rebellion Apocalypse Dragon roars, causing the field to erupt in flames.
I Will Hold It Close As I Wonder So Aimlessly
Yuya and Yugo closely race next to each other on the highway as Odd Eyes and Clear Wing clash in the sky. Yuya and Yugo scream in unison as their dragons evolve into Odd Eyes Wing and Crystal Clear Wing before continuing their arial battle. As the Accel Synchro monster begins to gain an advantage, Enlightenment Paladin descends from the sky while enveloped in a brilliant light. As Odd Eyes Wing is briefly knocked away, the evolved blue and gold paladin strikes Crystal Clear Wing's head with it's majestic blade, while Yuya and Yugo can't help but grin in excitement.
Into This New World
The scene changes to Yuya standing beneath a blue landscape. A pendulum swings above him, draw arcs of light across the sky. Yusho's face is shown over the center of the arcs, smiling down at his son with pride.

The screen flashes to a beaten Crow standing across from a strange looking Jack Atlas, which clearly wasn't the real one, who had a variant of Red Daemon's on his field. The scene shifts to Yuto standing against Kiryu's Chaos Void Dragon with Vengeful Paladin on his field, who readied it's sword for battle. The scene changes to Yuzu and Rin struggling against the berserk Black Rose Witch who wore a cracked mask. Darkness Rose Death Dragon let out a violent screech as Prodigy Mozart and Winter Bell protectively flew in front of the two girls. The scene switches to Yuya and Yugo teaming up against the mastermind himself, Roget. A large machine-like titan which was shrouded in darkness towered over Odd Eyes and Clear Wing. At the two counterparts' command, the dragons charged forward before combining into Odd Eyes Wing Dragon while the titan lunged it's fist forward. As the two collided, a white flash engulfs the screen. The song ends with the Lancers on the highway (now including Crow, Ruri, Rin, and Sora) in the Synchro Dimension, looking up at the screen with the three Yu-boys in the center, with each of their eyes flashing a red, indigo, and cyan glow respectively.
"This is...the best food...I've had in so long..."
"Yeah, it's pretty good."
After the excitement from the previous match, Yuto and Ruri had spent their time catching up. Since the two were reunited, they had been inseparable. At the current moment, they were sitting in the food court of the stadium, enjoying a meal.
Ruri was normally a polite and well mannered girl, but after spending so long as a prisoner and a victim of a war, she had completely forgotten what good food tasted like. Yuto wasn't bothered at all by how quickly the girl ate. He was just happy that she finally had a genuine smile on her face after all that has happened to her.
"Hey...remember that diner by my house? This food reminds me of it for some reason." Ruri smiled.
"Yeah...we should go back there once we go home..." Yuto said with a somewhat spaced out look on his face.
"Hey, Yuto...is something wrong?" Ruri asked, but Yuto's gaze continued to look past the girl.
Noticing his expression stiffen up, Ruri turned her head to see what her boyfriend was staring at. She narrowed her eyes and caught glimpse of a short blue haired boy getting ice cream.
"That boy...he was standing near Serena and those Standard duelists during the last duel...is he a Lancer too?" Ruri asked, causing Yuto's eyes to twitch.
"Not even close...he's an agent of Academia..." Yuto grunted, causing Ruri's eyes to widen. "At least, he was formerly...I don't know what happened to cause his change of heart, but he apparently helped Shun get Yuzu to safety while Academia was trying to hunt her down during the invasion. I just can't believe Shun trusted him despite everything that happened between them..."
"What happened with them?" Ruri asked.
"I guess you should probably start getting caught up...that boy is named Sora. He acted as a spy for Academia and infiltrated Standard, leading to him joining the You Show Duel School, where he befriended Yuya and Yuzu. During the previous tournament Shun and I participated in, Sora and him dueled, and Shun exposed Sora for being from Academia. After his loss, I went to track him down and we dueled. Before I could defeat him, he was sent back to Academia. During the invasion of Standard, he made a return to get revenge. During their second duel, Sora managed to defeat Shun."
"He defeated my brother?!"
"I don't know what brought him back, and I don't know what caused his change of heart, but I still don't trust him. Yuya and Yuzu have vouched that he's changed, but I can't trust their judgement so easily...not after Dennis Macfield..."
"Dennis...the performer...from our dimension? I don't remember telling you about his show..." Ruri said in confusion.
"That's because he was also a pawn of Academia. He was an agent that infiltrated our dimension and green lit the invasion. He was also the one who led Yuri to your location..." Yuto explained, shocking the purple haired girl.
"T-That can't be...he seemed so kind..." Ruri uttered in disbelief.
"I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. And afterwards, he infiltrated the Lancers. If it wasn't for your brother exposing him, things wouldn't have ended well for us..." Yuto said with a sigh of relief before his expression turned dark. "Though...I wish I was the one...who got the chance to crush him..."
"Y-Yuto...that talk..." Ruri said in a quiet yet disturbed tone.
"S-Sorry..." Yuto apologized, snapping back to his normal self.
"Believe me, I understand your anger. But we don't have to fight because of our hatred for our enemies. Instead, we can fight to protect our friends...and each other." Ruri said with a slight blush as she placed her hand on Yuto's.
"Y-You're right..." Yuto uttered in an uncharacteristically soft tone as he held the girl's hand while staring into her eyes.
However, Ruri could clearly see the pain in Yuto's eyes.
"Are you going to go talk to them?" Ruri bluntly asked, causing Yuto to pull away his hand.
"...I don't have anything to say to them right now."
"Your friendship might be strained right now, but it seems like Yuya and Yugo have patched things up. If you talk to them, I'm sure they'd listen to what you have to say."
"..." Yuto said nothing, simply sighing and looking down.
Ruri was concerned for Yuto, but ultimately decided to drop the topic since Yuto clearly wasn't ready to face them.
"Attention, the title match will begin in twenty minutes. Please calmly make your way back into the stadium. Thank you."
"I guess it's time to see if Yugo's truly ready to accomplish his dream..." Yuto uttered before getting out of his seat.
"Yeah..." Ruri nodded before the two departed.
"Alright, I'll carry on your determination. We'll do this together, Yuya." Yugo told his counterpart, who responded with a grin.
"I'm counting on you." Yuya replied.
After checking out his D-Wheel, Yugo placed his helmet on and started up his ride. As he drove towards the entrance of the tunnel, Rin came out of nowhere and stopped him.
"Hey, we were trying to give you a motivational pep talk before you take on the biggest challenge of your life!" Rin angrily shouted while Yuzu and Shun approached.
"Don't worry, Rin, Yuya just gave me a bunch of motivation, so you don't have to worry about that." Yugo smiled like an idiot.
Rin angrily glared at Yuya for a brief moment, as if she was mad at him for stealing her thunder.
"She's scary..." Yuya nervously said.
"Yeah...I'm nothing like that..." Yuzu said, causing Yuya to let out a small laugh.
"R-Right..." Yuya nodded, causing Yuzu to whip her head around.
"Was that sarcasm?" Yuzu glared.
"No, not at all!" Yuya frantically answered in fear of being whacked by Yuzu's fan.
'What the hell am I in the middle of...?' Shun thought to himself as he looked around at the counterparts.
"Yugo, go fight with everything you have." Yuzu said, shifting her focus to the other boy.
"Yeah, I'll use the power of fusion that you taught me!" Yugo smirked.
"Yugo, I have something for you." Shun told the boy before approaching him.
"Kurosaki...this is...!"
"Take it and win." Shun simply stated before turning away from the boy.
"...Right, I'll win for sure!" Yugo cheerfully claimed, causing Shun's lips to curl into a smile while his back was turned away from Yugo.
"There's something I want you to have, too..." Rin said in a shy tone as she placed something into Yugo's hand.
"Rin..." Yugo uttered in a surprised tone.
"It was always our dream to fight together as a team. It may not be the way we envisioned, but this way, a piece of me will be out there with you." Rin said with a smile and slightly pink cheeks.
"...Got it. I won't let you down. The only reason I'm here is because of you guys. With one last push, I'll see my dream through and create a better world. And once that's done, we'll take our fight to Academia!" Yugo said with a triumphant grin.
"Good luck." Yuzu smiled.
"Go dethrone that king." Shun nodded.
"We believe in you!" Yuya cheered.
"You can do it..." Rin uttered.
Yugo gave his friends one last reassuring look before driving off towards his destiny.
"Alright, everyone! It's time for the title match of the century!" Melissa shouted into the mic, causing the entire stadium to shake due to the screams of excitement. "Coming out of the tunnel is the winner of the Friendship Cup and the challenger for the title of Duel King! He's crossed dimensions to fight the forces of evil! He's the hope of the Commons and a warrior from the Lancers! It's the commander of the wind, the unstoppable comeback king, Yugo!"
Yugo came flying out of the tunnel, causing many people in the crowd to chant his name.
"Go, Yugo!" Gongenzaka cheered.
"Don't make us Lancers look bad!" Sawatari commanded.
"Yugo, you better win!" Serena shouted.
"Beat the hell out of that king!" Crow yelled.
Suddenly, the stadium went pitch black, with a single light fixated on the entrance of the tunnel.
"Out next is the reigning Duel King of Neo Domino City! The ultimate duelist whose fiery passion burns a hole into his opponents! The one, the only, Jack Atlas!"
Jack Atlas came flying out of the tunnel, causing the crowd to shake the stadium with their cheers.
"KING! KING! KING! KING! KING!"
The king held his fist up to the crowd in response to their cheers, making them all freak out even more.
"Geez, this guy really knows how to steal the show." Sawatari mumbled.
"He is the king after all, what did you expect?" Masumi commented.
With a stern look on his face, Jack pulled up beside the boy. Yugo went to look at him, but the king continued to look forward, avoiding eye contact with his opponent.
"King...Jack Atlas...I understand what you were trying to say to me back then. I was being selfish with my reasoning for wanting to win. My friends helped me realize that, and now, I'm more motivated then ever to take your thrown and create a better city!" Yugo declared.
"I guess you've changed a bit, but has your dueling? From what I've seen, you still lack the raw power to overcome me on your own." Jack taunted his opponent without looking at him.
"That's why I won't be fighting you alone! I'm going to take you down with the power of my team and my friends!" Yugo shouted.
"So you're admitting that you can't fight me alone? Pathetic." Jack scoffed, causing Yugo to grit his teeth.
'What's with this guy...he called me selfish before...and now he calls me weak for not fighting alone...' Yugo thought to himself.
But that's when it hit him.
Yugo looked up at the king, who could only look ahead. He felt something brewing within the blond-haired man, something deep that he himself may not realize. There was conflict brewing within him.
'Tch...I've never been good at reading people...Yuya must really be rubbing off on me...' Yugo thought with a small chuckle before steeling his resolve. 'I can't let this guy's antics psyche me out. I'll win for my friends and this city!'
"Alright everyone, the final match to decide who will reign over the city as the Duel King is finally here! Action Field On! Field Spell, Crossover Accel activate!" Melissa shouted as a sphere of cards bursted, causing them to spread all through out the track.

At the same time, both duelist's duel disk blades activated and a holographic screen with a countdown starting at 3 appeared in front of the two riders.

The two white D-Wheels sped for the exit at top speed, but Yugo wasn't able to get the lead over the king.
"Damn it..." Yugo grunted as the king pulled ahead on his unique D-Wheel.
"Our king will be taking the first turn!" Melissa announced.
"Yugo, throughout your duels, you have gained some of my respect. It's time to see if your truly worthy of it! My turn! From my hand, I summon Red Sprinter!"
A horse-like fiend surrounded by fire appeared and ran along side Jack.

"Since this card is the only monster on my field, it's effect activates! Now, I can special summon a Level 3 or lower Tuner Monster from my hand! Come, Red Resonator!" Jack shouted as a burning fiend with a tuning fork and a mallet appeared.

"Now, I tune the Level 2 Red Resonator to the Level 4 Red Sprinter! The crimson souls shall become one! All shall tremble before the king's might! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 6! Red Wyvern!" Jack shouted as a dark red dragon with burning wings appeared.

'This is the same exact beginning move he used during our first duel...' Yugo thought to himself.
"Why set up a strategy that Yugo's already gone up against?" Yuzu questioned.
"To see how much he's improved." Shun answered.
"I set two cards facedown, turn end. Let's see how far you've come!" Jack cried.
"Yeah! I'll prove everyone right for entrusting their hopes and dreams to me! My turn! While I have no monsters on my field, I can summon Speedroid Beigomax!" Yugo shouted as the monster made up of red spinning tops appeared.

"From my hand, I summon the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Party Horn Kid!" Yugo shouted as the green haired child in white clothing carrying a party horn appeared.

"Party Horn Kid's effect! Since I control one other WIND Monster, I can add the top card of my deck to my hand! Now, I tune my Level 4 Speedroid Party Horn Kid to my Level 3 Speedroid Beigomax!"
The child turned into four green rings that flew around the spinning tops.
"White dragon with shinning wings! Smash through our enemies and soar through the battle field at the speed of light! Come Forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Fast Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his white and green dragon with blue prismatic wings appeared.

"Battle! Clear Wing Fast Dragon, attack Red Wyvern!" Yugo shouted as his hybrid dragon flew up in the air. "At this moment, Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect activates! By targeting your dragon, it's ATK becomes 0 and it's effects are negated! Distortion Mirror!"
The white and green dragon release a blue stream of light that drained the wyvern.
Red Wyvern (2400/2000)-(0/2000)
"Go, Rapid Sky Drop Charge!" Yugo shouted as blue energy wrapped around the dragon as it flew through the air.
"It appears you haven't changed at all! Trap Activate! King's Synchro! Since my Synchro Monster is being attacked, I can negate the attack!" Jack shouted as a red barrier blocked the dragon's assault. "Then, I can perform a Synchro Summon banishing my Synchro monster and a Tuner Monster in my graveyard! I tune the Level 2 Red Resonator with the Level 6 Red Wyvern!"
The red fiend turned into two green rings that flew around the wyvern.
"The King's determination is conceived with a crimson blade ablaze fires of red! Appear from beyond the burning heat waves! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 8! The Burning Fierce God, Crimson Blader!" Jack shouted as a new warrior appeared on his field. The warrior had red armor and carried two long swords. The warrior also had a green cape hanging from it's waist and had blue armor covering it's face.

"I walked right into that one...as expected of the king. Turn end..." Yugo grunted as sweat formed on his forehead.
"I'll crush you with all of my might! My turn! Battle! Crimson Blader, attack Clear Wing Fast Dragon!" Jack shouted as his monster's blades ignited before rushing forward.
"Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect activates! Your monster's ATK is reduced to 0 and it's effects are negated-"
"Continuous Trap, Fiendish Chain activate! By targeting your dragon, it's effects are negated and it can't attack!" Jack shouted as chains wrapped around the dragon.
"No way!" Yugo shouted in shock.
"Go, Red Burner!" Jack yelled as the burning blades drove through the dragon.

"Damn it...now I can't summon monsters due to Crimson Blader's effect..." Yugo realized.
"That's right. Let's see if you can crawl yourself out of the hole you're in. Turn end." Jack concluded.
"I won't give up! My turn!" Yugo shouted. The boy looked over his hand nervously before grabbing one of his cards. "Alright, I set a card facedown, turn end."
"My turn! By sending a card in my hand to the graveyard, I can special summon Red Goliath!" Jack shouted as a giant red fiend with stone armor appeared.

"Next, I summon Shield Resonator!" Jack shouted as the blue fiend appeared that held a shield and a tuning fork.

"Now, I tune my Level 2 Shield Resonator to my Level 5 Red Goliath! The beating pulse of the new ruler, emerge from within the chaos! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Daemon Chaos King!" Jack shouted as a dark fiend appeared with fiery blades protruding from it's shoulders and arms.

"Prepare to face my wrath! Battle! Crimson Blader, direct attack! Red Burner!" Jack shouted as his swordsman leaped towards Yugo.
"Trap Activate! Defense Draw! I don't take any damage and I can draw a card!" Yugo shouted as the swordsman's blade clashed against his barrier.

"Let's see how long you can last. I end my turn." Jack concluded as his two monster sharpened their respective blades in an intimidating way.
"Our king has already gained an extreme lead against his young challenger! Will Yugo be able to recover from the severe damage he's taken this early in the duel?!" Melissa questioned as the crowd cheered.
"It feels like Jack is taking Yugo much more seriously this time..." Yuzu said in a nervous tone.
"Yeah, the king isn't pulling any punches. But Yugo wouldn't have it any other way." Yuya said with a smile.
"That's right! Go, Yugo!" Rin cheered.
"This duel is just getting started! My turn! I activate the Spell Card, Speedroid Scratch! By discarding a Speedroid Monster, I can add a Speedroid Monster from my deck to my hand! Next, I activate Speedroid Recovery! In exchange for not being able to normal summon, I can special summon Speedroid Three Eyed Dice from my graveyard!" Yugo shouted as the blue pyramid dice appeared.

Yugo shouted as a mechanical dragon-like monster appeared with blue and grey armor and sharp green wings.

"Don't get ahead of yourself." Jack sternly spoke as the smoke cleared, revealing Daemon Chaos King to still be on the field.
"How?!" Yugo gasped.
"Shield Resonator's effect prevents Daemon Chaos King from being destroyed until my next Standby Phase after it was summoned." Jack explained.
"Damn it...Battle! Kitedrake, attack Daemon Chaos King! Typhoon Impact!" Yugo shouted as the mechanical dragon fired a green cyclone from it's mouth that clashed against the fiend.

"At least he was able to deal damage..." Rin trailed off in a nervous tone.
"Turn end..." Yugo concluded.

"What?!" Yugo shouted in shock.

"It can't be..." Yugo uttered.
"Take it down! Hell Slicer!" Jack shouted as the fiend slashed through the mechanical dragon.

"Go, King Storm!" Jack roared as his dragon expanded it's wings outwards and fired the blast of fire at the ninja, causing a powerful explosion.
"Yugo!" Rin cried.
"I won't give up while everyone is counting on me! Trap Activate! Synchro Guard! By randomly sending a Synchro Monster from my Extra Deck to the graveyard, the effect damage is reduced to 0! Then, I can draw a card!" Yugo shouted as he sent High-Speedroid Chanbarider to the graveyard.
"Not bad." Jack said with a somewhat intrigued look.
"I'll keep fighting for everyone's sakes!" Yugo yelled as he also drew.
"I set a card facedown, turn end. Now, show me that conviction of yours that got you this far!" Jack demanded as he pointed at the boy.

As Jack prepared to draw, he could feel a pulse coming from his Extra Deck.
"I understand. I'll bring you out right now! My turn, draw! Trap Activate! Lost Star Descent! I can special summon Crimson Blader from my graveyard in defense mode. But, it's DEF is reduced to 0 and it's Level is reduced by 1." Jack explained as the dragon returned.

"It's coming..." Yugo uttered as sweat formed on his forehead.
"The heaven and earth shall tremble before the king's might! Let the power of the one and only supreme ruler be carved into your soul! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 8! The savage soul! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!" Jack roared. In a burst of crimson fire, the dragon with dark red armor and a glowing scar in it's right hand appeared.

"Jack and his ace are looking even more fired up then usual..." Crow noticed.
Scarlight let out a powerful roar while Clear Wing growled. The two dragons stared each other down, itching to battle each other.
"Scarlight is my very soul! Our bond is beyond anything you can counter! Battle! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight! Attack Clear Wing! Scorching Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack shouted as his ace fired a powerful spiraling blast of flames at the dragon.
Clear Wing tried to fire a blast of green energy from its mouth. However, the white dragon was quickly overpowered and was barely able to hold off the blast.
"Trap Activate! Assault Mode Activate! By releasing Clear Wing, I can special summon this card from my deck!" Yugo shouted before Clear Wing was engulfed in a bright turquoise light as it's body began to change. "Sharpen your bright and wondrous wings and evolve beyond your limits through the shinning light! Come forth! Level 9! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon/Assault Mode!"
As the light dispersed, Clear Wing now had blue and golden armor along with sharper and brighter green wings.

Yugo shouted as his dragon flew through the air while surrounded by a colorful aura.
"Trap Activate! Red Crystal! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight can't be destroyed by battle or card effects during this turn!" Jack countered as a red barrier shielded it.
"D-Damn it..." Yugo grit his teeth in anger as his dragon returned to his side. "I set a card facedown, turn end."
"My turn, draw!" Jack yelled as he drew and glared at the card. "It seems like my deck is responding to yours! Quick Play Spell, Assault Mode Zero activate! By releasing Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight, I can call upon it's evolved power!"
The red dragon let out a primal roar as it was consumed by a shinning light.
"Savage soul of the supreme ruler! Evolve through the burning light that shakes heaven and earth and ignite your blazing power! Come forth! Level 10! The blazing soul, Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode!" Jack shouted as a dragon similar to his ace appeared. The dragon now he sharp bulky red armor, burning wings, and silver armor on it's fist that ignited in a orange glow.

"Here it is! Just like their previous duel, Jack Atlas calls upon his own dragon's Assault Mode!" Melissa shouted.
"Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode's effect activates! Once per turn, all monsters whose levels are less than Scarlight's level are destroyed and you take 500 damage for each monster destroyed by the effect!" Jack shouted as his dragon's right hand was glowed and was enveloped in a crimson burst of fire.
"Clear Wing's only Level 9!" Rin realized.
"At this rate...!" Yuzu trailed off in a horrified tone.
"That won't be happening! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon/Assault Mode's effect activates! Once during the opponent's turn, I can target a monster on the field and it's effects are negated! Disruption Mirror!" Yugo shouted as colorful light from his dragon's wings shot out towards the dragon, dispersing the fire in it's fist.
"You may have stopped its effect...but you certainly won't stop my dragon's attack! Battle! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode! Incinerate that dragon! Scorching Crimson Hell Assault!" Jack roared as his dragon was consumed in flames before flying towards the dragon.
The red dragon punched through the white and gold dragon's core, causing a fiery explosion that scorched Yugo.
"GRAH!"
"YUGO!" The Lancers cried as the boy was consumed in flames.

Jack looked behind him as Yugo drove out of the smoke with scorched clothes.
"So you have enough perseverance to survive. I guess that's why you were able to outlast your opponent in the finals. However, you lack the power to reach the summit in which I stand on!" Jack shouted.
"You're right...by myself...I'm weak." Yugo admitted, causing Jack to raise a brow. "It wasn't because of my strength alone that got me here today. It was because of the support of Yuzu and Kurosaki. It was because of the power that Yuya and Yuto helped me unlock. It was because of the dream that Rin and I both share. So by myself, I'm nothing compared to you. But with the spirits of my friends by my side, I'll surpass you!"
"That's a bold declaration." Jack said with a smile. "It seems that the strength of your comrades has lit a fire in your soul. You aren't the same as you were back then."
"That's right! Since my dragon was destroyed, I can summon it's original form from the graveyard! Revive, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

By banishing High-Speedroid Kitedrake in my graveyard and Clear Wing Synchro Dragon on my field, I can perform a Fusion Summon!"
The two Synchro monsters briefly appeared on the field before swirling into the fusion vortex.
"Dragon with beautiful and wondrous wings! Mechanical dragon that rules over the skies! Merge together and bring forth the ultimate combination of machines and dragons! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Level 8! Clear Wing Machine Dragon!" Yugo shouted as the grey mechanized dragon with green and blue crystals on it's body appeared.

"Battle! Clear Wing Machine Dragon, attack Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode!" Yugo shouted as his dragon flew high in the sky. "At this moment, Clear Wing Machine Dragon's effect activates! By banishing High-Speedroid Chanbarider from my graveyard, the battling monster's effects are negated and it loses 300 ATK times the banished monster's level! That means your dragon loses 1500 ATK!"
A powerful beam of green energy shot out of the crystal on the dragon's chest, engulfing the opposing dragon and severely weakened it.

"Go, Mechanized Sky Assault!" Yugo and Yuzu shouted together as the dragon descended from the sky while surrounded by blue and green energy.
"Trap Activate! Red Resolution! Any damage damage from a battle involving Red Daemon's Dragon monster is reduced to 0!" Jack countered as a red barrier protected him while his dragon was destroyed.
"Damn it..." Yugo grunted in anger.
"And due to my dragon's effect, I can now special summon Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight from my graveyard!"

"Tch...I set a card facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded.

The red dragon's right fist ignited in a powerful burst of burning energy, causing Yugo's eyes to widen in fear.
"Not this again..." Yugo uttered.
"Engrave Soul Light's effect makes the ATKs of all monsters on my opponent's field that have higher ATK then the equipped monster become equal to the equipped monster's ATK!" Jack exclaimed as his dragon raised its glowing fist in the air. Multiple waves of energy radiated from the fist that weakened both of Yugo's dragons.

"It's just like before!" Yuya gasped.
"Now, this duel is finished! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight's effect! Once per turn, all other monsters on the field with ATKs that are equal or lower than this card are destroyed and you take 500 damage for each one!" Jack shouted as his dragon's fist ignited in flames.
"He'll take 500 damage and lose if this goes through!" Yuzu realized.
"Be gone from my sight! ABSOLUTE POWER FLAME!" Jack shouted as his dragon thrusted it's fist forward, causing a powerful blast of flames to shoot towards Yugo's field.
"Yugo!" Rin cried.
"It won't end like this! Trap Activate! Speedroid Healing! By banishing High-Speedroid Makendama in my graveyard, I gain life points equal to half of its ATK! I won't be defeated!" Yugo defiantly yelled as he was enveloped in green light before the flames consumed him.

"Now, I activate the Spell Card, Treasure Cards from the Heavens! Now, we both draw until we have six cards in our hands!" Yugo shouted as he drew a new hand.
"Supplying me with cards will lead to your defeat." Jack sternly said as he also drew.
"Not if I win first! With the set scale, Pendulum Summon! From my hand, Speedroid Ultra Hound! And from my Extra Deck, the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Domino Butterfly!"

"But it's ATK is the same as Red Daemon's DEF..." Crow reminded.
"Next, I'll use the power Yuya and Yuto gave me to win! I activate the Ritual Spell, Ritual of the Storm!" Yugo shouted as an altar appeared which was two green statues that looked similar to Clear Wing's head. The altar also had a large cyclone of green wind circling it.
"Alright! Go, Yugo!" Yuya cheered.
"By releasing WIND monsters on my field whose total levels are 7 or higher, I can Ritual Summon this monster! I release the level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as dragon flew into the cyclone of wind. The dragon turned into seven stars of light that spun around in the cyclone. "Dragon born from the storm! Gain the power of the raging winds and fly through the field like a hurricane! Ritual Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Storm Dragon!"
The green armored dragon with turquoise colored armor plates appeared. The dragon had sharp blue prismatic wings and flew beside Yugo, leaving a trail of green wind in the air.

The dragon's turquoise eyes glowed as it let out a powerful roar. The dragon's wings glowed at it flew towards the opposing dragon and began circling it. This caused it to be consumed by a tornado of shinning wind-like energy.
"Then, I activate the Equip Spell Card, Big Bang Shoot! Clear Wing Storm Dragon gains 400 ATK and can inflict piercing damage!"

"Let's go! Battle! Clear Wing Storm Dragon, attack Odd Eyes Gravity Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his dragon launched up towards the sky. "At this moment, Clear Wing Storm Dragon's effect activates! When this monster attacks a special summoned monster, it gains ATK equal to the opposing monster's level times 300!" Yugo shouted as his dragon's wings shined brightly.

"No way! Jack Atlas can't lose like this!" Melissa cried.
"Go, STORMING CYCLONE STRIKE!" Yugo shouted as his dragon flew down in a cyclone of turquoise energy.
"I won't allow you to take my title! Red Resolution's effect activates in my graveyard! By banishing this card and releasing Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight on my field, the Battle Phase is forced to end!" Jack countered.
"What?!" Yugo gasped as the red dragon exploded in flames, blowing the green dragon back to Yugo's side of the field.
"Damn...I set two cards facedown and end my turn..." Yugo begrudgingly concluded.

"Heh...that fighting spirit you've gained...it reminds me of my own from back then..." Jack admitted, surprising Yugo.
"Huh?"
"When my old team first competed in the Friendship Cup, we fought for each other. We combined our individual strengths and fought as one to accomplish our goal. But once we reached the top, they didn't want to accept what was rightfully ours. So I had to take the burden of creating a better future." The king solemnly said.
"Jack..." Crow uttered as he looked on at his old friend.
"But even as king, I couldn't accomplish anything. I had so much power as a Top and as the Duel King, but I never felt so powerless. People didn't care the system wasn't fair. The Tops couldn't see why the Commons deserved to be treated like equals. The Commons didn't want to live in peace with the Tops, they wanted to overthrow them. They only cared about their own lives. I couldn't change their minds no matter how hard I fought." Jack explained.
"That's...bullshit!" Yugo angrily snapped, causing Jack's eyes to widen. "The Jack Atlas that I idolized wasn't such a quitter! He never gave up and always persevered! If you really wanted to, you could have changed things for us! Face it...things didn't get better because you gave up!"
"..." Jack stared back at the boy before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. "I understand now."
"Understand what?" Yugo asked.
"...My turn, draw!" Jack shouted, ignoring the question. "I activate the Spell Card, Red Reborn! This card allows me to special summon a Red monster from my graveyard! Resurrect, my very soul, Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!"

"It's time for this duel to end! Red Daemon's effect activates! Your dragon is destroyed and you take 500 damage! Absolute Power Flame!" Jack cried as his monster's fist ignited in flames before punching the ground, creating a powerful wave of fire that incinerated the opposing dragon.
"Trap Activate! Damage Diet! The effect damage is halved!" Yugo shouted as a blast of wind shot out of the card, countering the flames.

"The true strength of a king is their ability to create their own path!" Jack roared with fired in his eyes as he pushed his D-Wheel to maximum speed. "Listen to the roar of my soul! Can you hear it? My life's energy! Bear witness, this is the dueling of a king! I double tune the Level 1 Chain Resonator and the Level 1 Mirror Resonator to my Level 8 Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!"
"D-Double tune?! What the hell?!" Yugo shouted in disbelief.
The two fiends turned into two fiery rings that flew around dragon.
"Ruler and Devil, they cross now and here! Touch the soul of the Crimson Dragon, and raise the cry of creation! SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth! Level 10! Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant!"
Out of the explosion of fire, a somewhat larger and bulkier version of Scarlight appeared on the field. The dragon had fiery orange horns and bright orange wings. Its armor was black and red with orange spikes protruding from it. The dragon let out an extremely powerful roar, shaking the track.

"T-This is unreal! The king has shown off a brand new evolution of Synchro Summoning, Double Tuning!" Melissa shouted in awe.
"You evolved Synchro Summoning in your own way..." Yugo uttered in shock.
"So this is...the king's true power...!" Yuya gasped.
"So you never stopped improving, Jack..." Crow uttered.
"A king shouldn't solely rely on the strength of others to fight their own battles! A true king paves their own way and uses their own strength to carry the people they care about across the finish line!" Jack shouted as he clenched his fist. "Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant's effect activates! Once per turn, all cards on the field besides this card are destroyed!"
"What?! All other cards?!" Yugo gasped before shaking his head. "Hold on! I can still use Crystal Wing's effect! Once per either player's turn, a monster effect is negated and that monster is destroyed!"
"I was prepared for that! Continuous Trap, Red Soul! By targeting a Red Synchro Monster that was special summoned during this turn, it can't be affected by opponent's cards effects while this card is on the field!" Jack shouted as a crimson surge of energy surrounded his dragon, protecting it from the crystal dragon's light.
"No way!" Yugo shouted.
"Do it! ABSOLUTE POWER INFERNO!"
At the king's command, the dragon drove it's burning fist into the ground, creating a devastating wave of flames that incinerated Crystal Wing, Marble Machine, Hexasaucer, and the set card on Yugo's field.
"And through its other effect, Red Soul cannot be destroyed by card effects if the targeted monster is a Red Daemon's Dragon monster." Jack explained.
"With this, Yugo has nothing else to defend himself with! Is this match truly over?!" Melissa shouted.
"You fought valiantly, but you're not ready to reach the summit I stand on! BATTLE! Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant, attack him directly! INFERNO CRIMSON HELL TIDE!" Jack roared as his dragon fired a massive blast of flames at Yugo.
"Oh no!" Sawatari dramatically cried.
"It's not over yet! Clear Wing Phantom's effect in my hand activates!" Yugo shouted as he held up a card from his hand.
A specter wearing clothing that looked identical to Clear Wing appeared blocked the attack.
"What the hell?!" Jack shouted in confusion.
"By discarding this card when I'm attacked directly, I can negate the attack and special summon Clear Wing Synchro Dragon monster from my graveyard!" Yugo shouted as his ace returned to the field.

"Clear Wing and I won't give up just yet!" Yugo declared.
"Hmph...I end my turn." Jack concluded.
"Your evolved dragon is really strong...but Clear Wing still hasn't shown off it's strongest form! My turn, draw!" Yugo grinned as he drew.
"That means he's going to...! Rin realized.
"It's time! Speedroid Ultra Hound's effect in the graveyard activates! By banishing this card, I can shuffle a Speedroid Monster into my deck! I shuffle the Level 3 Speedroid Ohajikid into my deck!" Yugo explained.
"But why do that?" Serena wondered.
"And through Ultra Hound's effect, I can special summon a Speedroid from my Extra Deck with the same Level as Speedroid Ohajikid but with it's effects negated!" Yugo shouted as a card popped out of his Extra Deck. "Weapon of justice! Take aim towards the future and fire! Come forth! Level 3! The Synchro Tuner Monster, High-Speedroid Cork-10!"
The green and purple toy gun appeared beside Clear Wing.

"How amazing! Yugo has managed to bring out his Synchro Tuner without Synchro Summoning! And with it's arrival, you all no what that means!" Melissa shouted.
"Just like you and your partner, Clear Wing and I will continue to break through our limits..." Yugo began as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, before opening his glowing turquoise eyes. "...we'll become the light that shines through the darkness...we'll become strong enough to shape our own future! This is our own path! CLEAR MIND!"
As he drove, Yugo and his D-Wheel were consumed by a bright red light that illuminated the night.
"I tune the Level 3 Synchro Tuner, High-Speedroid Cork-10 to the Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as the machine-type turned into three rings that the dragon flew through at incredible speeds. "Majestic dragon flying at the speed of light! Refine your brilliant wings in the light of evolution and accelerate towards the future! ACCEL SYNCHRO!"
As Yugo and Clear Wing were consumed by the red light, the two briefly disappeared.
"So this is your own path..." Jack uttered with a smile.
"Materialize! Level 10! Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
In a powerful flash of light, Yugo was far in front of Yuya with his evolved dragon on beside him. It had dark blue skin with white, cyan, and gold armor. The dragon had many sharp green crystals protruding from it's armor and it also had a long black and green tail that extended out of it's lower body. The dragon's wings were made of green crystals that protruded from it's back.

"It's here! It's here! It's here! The monster that has carried Yugo to through the tournament! It's time to see if the majestic Accel Synchro can surpass the king's almighty Double Tuning!" Melissa yelled.
"Alright! I set a card facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded.
"That's all? I'm disappointed, Yugo." Jack sighed before placing his hand on his deck.
"Just wait and see what we have in store, king!" Yugo smirked.
"Why did he bring out Crystal Clear Wing like that?" Sawatari questioned.
"Having it on the field will prevent Jack from using Tyrant's effect to destroy everything on the field in fear of Crystal Clear Wing gaining more ATK. However, if Jack simply attacks with Tyrant..." Crow trailed off.
"He has to have a plan for that." Rin said in a hopeful tone.
"My turn! My soul will incinerate you into ash! Battle! Tyrant, attack Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Inferno Crimson Hell Tide!" Jack commanded as his dragon fired a powerful blast of fire at the white dragon.
"You fell for it! Continuous Trap, Burning Sonic activate! By targeting Crystal Clear Wing, the attack is negated and it gains 500 ATK!"

"Alright! It's stronger than Jack's monster!" Yuzu cheered.

The dragon's crystals glowed brightly, causing a green whirlwind of energy to surround it.

"Alright!" Yugo cheerfully shouted.
"You think that I'm that stupid? Think again! Red Sage's effect in my hand activates! By discarding this Monster when an opposing monster's ATK changes, a Red Monster on my field gains the same amount of ATK!" Jack shouted as a fiend in a red cloak appeared on the field and gave its strength to his dragon.

"You can't be serious..." Yugo said in disbelief before shaking his head in order to refocus. "...Clear Wing Phantom's effect in the graveyard activates! By banishing it, a Clear Wing monster can't be destroyed by battle during this turn!"
"But you still take the damage!"
The large white dragon took the attack head on, but some of the flames bypassed the dragon and scorched Yugo.
"GRAAAAH!"

"Hang in there!" Yuya cried as his counterpart struggled to regain control of his shaking D-Wheel.
"Just 50 life points left..." Ruri uttered in a nervous tone.
"Don't give up, Yugo!" Rin yelled.
"What a chain of effects! Unfortunately for Yugo, the king was prepared for his plans!" Melissa commented.
"Heh...Heh...I'm not...done yet!" Yugo shouted through the pain.
"This resolve..." Jack uttered before regaining his serious expression. "Most would cower in fear at the sight of my true power. You certainly are an anomaly among the people of this city."
"Cower? Why would anyone do that? I'm honored that you're finally fighting me with your full strength. When we first fought, I wasn't even worth your effort. But now, I can finally show you and everyone else that I'm worthy of the title! I'll accomplish my dream and make a better future for everyone!"
"You can't accomplish what your striving for at your current level of power. I set a card facedown, turn end." Jack concluded.

A dice flew through the air and rolled on the ground, landing on the number five.
"Alright! I draw five cards and then I must send five cards from the top of my deck to the graveyard! From my hand, I summon the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Flash Fighter from my hand!"
A small blue mech with flashlights instead of arms appeared.

Once per turn, when a Speedroid monster is summoned to my field while I control this card, I can target a face up Spell or Trap card on the field and its effects are negated! I target Red Soul!" Yugo declared as his monster pointed it's lights at Jack's Trap, causing it to lose color.
"Alright! Now Tyrant can be affected by card effects!" Rin cheered.
"I tune my Level 2 Flash Fighter to my Level 3 Taketonborg! Shining body nurtured by both wings, spread them and leap into the sky! Synchro Summon! Appear! Level 5! High-Speedroid Machago Ita!" Yugo yelled as the pink and green machine in the shape of a paddle rocketed onto the field.

"Machago Ita's effect activates! By releasing this card, all monsters on the field gain the effect to increase their levels by 1 whenever their levels change!"
As Yugo explained, his monster bursted into particles that spread throughout the field.
"This is the card that will lead to a better future! I activate the Spell Card, High-Speed Re-Level! By banishing a Speedroid monster in my graveyard, all monsters on the field become that monster's level until the end of the turn! I banish High-Speedroid Puzzle! Meaning, all of our monsters become Level 4!"

"6800 ATK...the king can't survive this...!" Melissa realized as her eyes widened.
"That was quite the move. It appears you've grown a bit after all." Jack admitted before grabbing an Action Card on the track. "But that doesn't mean you have what it takes! Action Spell, Runaway! Your dragon's effect is negated and you take 500 damage!"
"I won't lose like that! Crystal Clear Wing's effect activates! Once per turn, I can negate the activation of a Spell or Trap card and destroy it! DICHROIC FORCE!" Yugo shouted as his dragon roared, causing the card to be consumed by a green cyclone.
"Yugo's totally in control!" Sawatari shouted.
"This is for our future! BATTLE!" Yugo screamed as he raised his fist to the sky and grinned. "Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Attack Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant! SHINNING! TEMPEST DRIVE!"
As the dragon surrounded itself in a green whirlwind of energy, it flew incredibly high in the sky. The dragon spun through the air before descending towards the hybrid dragon. As it descended, the dragon gained more and more speed which caused it's wings to shine even brighter.
"It'll take more than that to claim my title! Trap Activate! Red Resonance! By targeting Scarlight in my graveyard, Tyrant gains half of it's ATK points! Also, it can't be destroyed by battle during this turn!" Jack countered at the last moment as the spirit of his ace was absorbed into his evolved dragon.

The red dragon slammed it's burning fist into the white dragon, barely managing to hold off the attack. A powerful shockwave ensued, ferociously shaking Jack's D-Wheel.

"Jack Atlas managed to hold on! Our king hasn't given up just yet!" Melissa commentated.
"Damn it...I really thought you had him there..." Yugo uttered in disappointment.
"Don't worry, master. We'll get another shot."
"Right. I set a card facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded.

"It's been quite a long time since I've been pushed to my limits like this. It's feels...refreshing. However, I will still crush you with my absolute power!" Jack shouted as he clenched his fist before placing his hand on his deck. "My turn! Battle! Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant, attack Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Inferno Crimson Hell Tide!"
"Speedroid Gear Guard's effect in my hand activates! By discarding this card, any battle damage from a battle involving a WIND monster is reduced to 0! Then, if the battling monster is a Synchro Monster, I can draw a card!" Yugo shouted as a small grey mech carrying a gear-shaped shield appeared in front of him and blocked the incoming flames.
"But your monster is still destroyed!"
"Crystal Clear Wing!" Yugo cried as his dragon looked back and gave a reassuring nod while being consumed by flames.
"Jack Atlas has done it! Crystal Clear Wing is no more! It appears the monster born from Double Tuning was superior after all!" Melissa shouted as the crowd cheered.
"Yugo's dragon was defeated...no way..." Rin uttered in defeat.
"I'm sure Yugo still has some moves left..." Yuzu reassured her counterpart, although she didn't sound very confident.
"Crystal Clear Wing's effect activates upon destruction. I can add a WIND monster from my deck to my hand." Yugo spoke as a card popped out of his duel disk. "Trap Activate! Inherited Hope! When a Level 8 or higher Synchro Monster is destroyed on my field, I can draw a card for every three Levels that monster had! I draw three cards!"
"So you planned for your dragon's destruction and used it to gain some resources...interesting. However, you've lost your strongest monster. It appears this fight may be over after all. I set a card facedown, turn end." Jack concluded.
"You're wrong! Even though I lost Crystal Clear Wing, it's sacrifice allowed me to refill my hand with hope! My turn!" Yugo shouted as he drew before looking through his new hand. "Let's go! From my hand, I summon the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Connector!"

Yugo shouted as another dice materialized and flew through the air, landing on the number three. "Now, I shuffle Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, High-Speedroid Cork-10, and High-Speedroid Machago Ita into my Extra Deck. Then, I can destroy cards the opponent controls up to the amount of cards that were returned to the deck! Your facedown card, your Continuous Trap, and Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant will be destroyed!"
"If this goes through...!" Yuto began.
"...the king will have nothing left!" Ruri realized.
"Go! DICHROIC ACCELERATION!"
Yugo looked at the king, waiting for his inevitable counter to Yugo's move. However, the king simply looked ahead.

"U-Unbelievable! Yugo has managed to bring down Jack Atlas' evolved ace monster! And with no monsters or set cards...!" Melissa eyes widened as she realized the situation.
"I can't believe it..." Crow's eyes widened in shock.
"Yugo's going to...!" Rin uttered before smiling.
"King..." Yugo uttered as Jack emotionlessly drove in front of him. "...It's time for me to grasp the future I'm striving for! BATTLE! Clear Wing Rider...attack Jack Atlas directly! WHIRLWIND HIGH-SPEED DASH!"
The dragonic D-Wheel was engulfed in green energy before racing towards Jack.
"...My title won't be taken so easily! I banish the Trap Card, Red Outcry in my graveyard to activate it's effect!" Jack countered as he swerved out of the way of the dragonic D-Wheel.
"The card that was just destroyed...!" Yugo realized.
"By banishing this card during a turn a Red Synchro Monster was destroyed, I can negate an attack!" Jack explained before glaring back at the boy in disappointment. "I watched your previous duel with Yuya Sakaki. I knew you'd use this monster as a last minute ace in the hole. Now that your plan has failed, you have nothing left to fight me!"
"E-Even so...I managed to destroy your strongest monster! This duel is still mine! I set two cards facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded.

"I wouldn't go that far. During the End Phase of the turn Red Outcry was banished, I can special summon a Red Synchro Monster that was destroyed during this turn!" Jack sternly explained.
"T-That means...!" Yugo's eyes widened in fear.
"Be reborn from the ashes, Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant!" Jack shouted as a blast of flames shot out of the ground, bringing back the evolved dragon.

"I've been the king for many years and I'm not about to let my reign be ended by a kid trying to play hero! MY TURN!" Jack determinedly shouted as he put everything into his draw. "Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant's effect activates! All other cards on the field are destroyed! ABSOLUTE POWER INFERNO!"
The dragon drove it's burning fist into the ground, creating a devastating wave of flames that headed towards Yugo's field.
"I won't let that happen! Trap Activate! Speed Break! When a Speedroid Monster would be destroyed by a card effect, that effect is negated and that card is destroyed!" Yugo shouted as his monster was surrounded by energy before charging through the flames.
"I was prepared for that! Brutal Red's effect activates in my hand! By discarding this card when a Red monster would be destroyed, that monster can't be destroyed during this turn and it gains 1000 ATK!"

"Using Yugo's countermeasure to increase his dragon's ATK..." Serena uttered in an impressed tone.
"You may have dodged Tyrant's effect, but now all I have to do is attack and you're finished." Jack boasted.
"Things are looking bad...but I had a plan too! Clear Wing Rider's effect activates! Tempest Reboot!" Yugo shouted as he raised his fist to the sky.
The motorcycle was surrounded by green energy before racing around Yugo at the speed of light, creating a green tornado.
"During my opponent's Main Phase, by releasing this Synchro Summoned monster, I can special summon two level 7 WIND Synchro monsters from my Extra Deck! Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings and strike down our enemies at light speed! Come forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

"Just like in his duel against Yuya Sakaki, Yugo has managed to bring out his twin dragons at once!" Melissa shouted in shock.
"Let's go! Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect activates! By targeting your dragon, it's ATK becomes 0 and it's effects are negated! DISTORTION MIRROR!"
The white and green dragon release a blue stream of light that drained the dragon.

"You have nothing left, king! This duel and your title are both mine!" Yugo confidently shouted.
"Tch...it's not over yet! From my hand, I summon Red Familiar!" Jack shouted as a fiery spirit appeared beside him that had a mischievous smile.

"Red Familiar's effect activates! By releasing this card, I can special summon Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight from my graveyard with it's effects negated!" Jack shouted as the fiery spirit transformed into a portal of flames that brought back the red dragon.

"No way!" Yugo shouted.
"This is the end! BATTLE! Scarlight, attack Clear Wing Fast Dragon! SCORCHING CRIMSON HELL BURNING!" Jack ferociously shouted as his dragon fired a powerful blast of flames.
"Trap Activate! Guardraw! My dragon is switched to defense mode and I draw a card!" Yugo countered as he drew.

The hybrid dragon was incinerated by the flames and the force of the attack caused Yugo's D-Wheel to shake.
"That was a close one..." Yugo sighed in relief.
"I set a card facedown, turn end." Jack concluded. "At this moment, Tyrant's ATK returns to normal."

"Jack...you said that a true king uses their own strength to carry the people you care about over the finish line...why don't you believe in people working together to solve their problems? Weren't you apart of a team?" Yugo asked in a confused tone.
"...I was once part of a team as you know. However, once it was time for us to claim the titles we rightfully earned, my teammates backed down. They didn't want to be corrupted by becoming a Top. They thought things could be changed a different way, but they were both wrong."
"Jack..." Crow uttered.
"I was only able to get where I am today by claiming my rightful title and stepping away from my team. In the end, the only person I could rely on to truly make a difference was myself. That's why a king can't rely on the strength of others! A true king must use their own strength to carve their own future!" Jack shouted as the crowd roared in cheers.
"That's our unbeatable king!"
"We love you, Jack Atlas!"
"...You're a hypocrite." Yugo grunted, causing Jack's eyes to widen in anger.
"What did you just say?!" Jack growled.
"Back when you called me out for my dueling being full of selfishness, I didn't understand you at all. But my friends made me realize that I only ever cared about my dream and saving Rin, not the goal of the Lancers or the futures of the people of this city and the other dimensions. It was only thanks to Yuya, Yuzu, Kurosaki, and Yuto that I was able to realize my true dream!"
"M-Me...?" Yuto questioned, causing something to stir within him.
"Yugo..." Yuya uttered with a proud smile.
"The reason you weren't able to fully change things is because you tried doing it on your own! Of course people didn't respond to you! Everyone in this city only ever cares about themselves!"
Yugo began to feel himself get angry, but the boy calmed himself before continuing.
"The Tops don't care about the suffering they inflicted on the Commons. The Commons don't care about who they hurt to get ahead of the Tops. You weren't able to change the minds of the people in this city because you're just like them!" Yugo shouted in anger.
For an instance, Jack angrily glared back at Yugo. However, as he thought about the boy's words, his eyes softened.
"Corruption and greed have ruined the lives of everyone in this dimension! I know you all see that! People shouldn't have to suffer because where they are born! But at the same time, people shouldn't be so willing to hurt others in order to get ahead!"
Yugo's words caused murmurs in the crowd, which didn't go unnoticed by the Lancers.
"He's doing it..." Yuya grinned.
"I'll end this cycle with my own two hands! MY TURN! I activate the Spell Card, Monster Recovery! By shuffling the cards in my hand and monsters on my field into my deck, I can draw five cards! Clear Wing...I promise to bring you back!"
Clear Wing nodded at Yugo, before dissolving into particles while the boy shuffled his hand back into his deck.
"Let's go! DRAW!" Yugo shouted as he put everything he had into the draw. "These cards are...!"
The boy's eyes widened as he thought about his comrades with a smile.
"Thank you...my friends...I'll show the world the power of our bond! From my hand, I summon the Tuner Monster, Tuning Magician!" Yugo shouted as the female magician holding a tuning fork appeared on his field, causing everyone to gasp, especially Jack.

"Yuya...you...!" Yuzu's eyes widened as she looked at the tomato haired boy, who had a large smile on his face.
"T-Tuning Magician...but how...?!" Jack uttered in shock.
"Tuning Magician's effect activates upon being summoned, causing me to take 400 damage while you gain 400 life points..." Yugo explained as the magician hit the tuning fork, creating a visible sound wave.
"Is he throwing the match?!" Sawatari gasped in disbelief.
"Not at all..." Yuya answered with a grin.
"At this moment, the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Space Racer's effect activates in my hand! When I would take effect damage, I can special summon this card instead!" Yugo shouted as a blue toy space ship appeared in front of Yugo that created an energy barrier, protecting the boy from the damage.

"However, I still gain life points." Jack sternly said he was hit by the sound wave.

With a powerful roar, the white dragon returned to the field and flew beside it's master.

"Of course, Clear Wing! Now, it time to show off the power of the bond Yuya and I share! The fun has just begun!" Yugo borrowed his counterpart's catchphrase with a large smile before raising his fist to the sky. "I tune the Level 1 Tuning Magician to the Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
The magician winked before turning into a single green ring that flew around the white dragon.
"Dragon with dual colored eyes! Gain the shining wings of light! Soar to the summit of supremacy! SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth! Level 8! Dragon with piercing eyes of breakthrough! Supreme King White Dragon - Odd Eyes Wing Dragon!" Yugo and Yuya chanted together as the red and green eyed hybrid dragon with white and black armor and sharp light blue crystals appeared with a loud roar.

"Yuya Sakaki's Synchro Pendulum dragon is here...on Yugo's field...!" Melissa uttered in disbelief.
"Even after everything that happened between you two...he lent you his cards so you could defeat me...!" Jack said in shock.
"He didn't do it just because of that. He did it to show the people of the city the power of trusting and believing in others! Odd Eyes Wing Dragon's effect activates! Once per turn, I can target a monster on my opponent's field and all monsters on my opponent's field are destroyed! I target Tyrant!" Yugo shouted with as the dragon's wings began to shine.
"DICHROIC DESTRUCTION!" Yuya and Yugo roared as the dragon released a white hurricane of energy from it's wings.
"Grr..." Jack grunted as he was forced to watch his two dragons become consumed by the hurricane.
"Both of the king's dragons have been destroyed...!" Melissa shouted in terror.
"Then, my monster gains the ATK of the targeted monster! Odd Eyes Wing Dragon gains Tyrant's 3500 ATK!" Yugo shouted as the dragon's eyes glowed.

"There's no way I could've anticipated this..." Jack grunted as he looked down.
"You're right about that! You and everyone else in this city can't comprehend the idea that just because people are different, doesn't mean they can't work together to create a better future! My friends and I all come from different worlds! We all have lived vastly different lives! However, we were all able to form a bond that has the power to change the future! This is something a lonely king will never be able to obtain!" Yugo shouted as he pointed at Jack, who continued to look down.
"I can't believe it..."
"The king's going to..."
"Could that boy be right..."
"This is for my friends...my team...my city...everyone! BATTLE!" Yugo declared.
"Go, Odd Eyes Wing Dragon!" Yuya began.
"Attack Jack Atlas directly!" Yugo continued.
The dragon's crystal began glowing brightly, causing the dragon to be surrounded by bright blue energy.
"Storming Attack - STRIKE SLASHER!" Yugo and Yuya screamed in unison.
The dragon whirled as it flew up in the air and then dove down at even higher speeds at the lone king.
"It appears you do have what it takes to be a king after all..." Jack uttered as he looked up with a smile.
"King...!" Yugo's eyes widened as he heard Jack's final words before the dragon's attack connected.
"GRAAAAAAH!" Jack shouted as the dragon rammed into his D-Wheel, causing it to hit the side of the track and fly over the edge.
"JACK!" Melissa yelled in disbelief.
"KING!" The crowd shouted in unison.

"W-What...?" Yugo uttered in confusion as he tried to look over the side of the track.
"...Even if you are a worthy successor...a true king doesn't stop fighting until his soul's flame has gone out...and my soul is still burning brighter then ever!"
To everyone's shock, Jack Atlas soared up in the air while surrounded by a shinning aura. Above him was a fiend holding a golden cross. The king landed on the track in front of Yugo, who was still processing what just happened.

"Miracle Resonator can be special summoned when my life points would hit 0 while there are three or more Resonator monsters in my graveyard. Through it's effect, my life points couldn't fall below 100." Jack explained.
"...Hehehe...Hahahaha!" Yugo bursted out laughing.
"Your dream just got snatched away from you right in front of your eyes...and your laughing about it?" Jack asked in confusion.
"That's not it at all...I'm just really enjoying this duel. Ever since this tournament began, it's felt like every duel has been do or die. And with the upcoming battle against Academia, I have a feeling that duels where I'm able to enjoy myself are gonna be rare." Yugo explained.
"I find it hard to believe that what comes next will be fun for you." Jack sternly said before pointing back at Yugo. "Sear this moment into your mind! For the first time in history, I, Jack Atlas, will demonstrate the full power of my burning soul!"
"Full power...?" Yugo uttered in confusion.
"My soul and my heart are burning with the same flames of conviction! MY TURN!" Jack cried as he powerfully drew. "I activate the Spell Card, Red Reverse! By targeting a Red monster that was destroyed during the previous turn, I can special summon a different Red monster with a lower Level from my graveyard! I target the Level 10 Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant in order to special summon the Level 8 Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!"

"History shall be made in this moment! This is my soul's fiery cry! This is the strength I've forged on my own through sacrifice and hardship! This is the true path of the one and only king, Jack Atlas! I triple tune the Level 2 Crimson Resonator, the Level 3 Dark Resonator, and the Level 3 Creation Resonator to the Level 4 Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!" Jack declared as he pushed his D-Wheel to the limits.
"T-T-Triple Tuning?!" Melissa's jaw dropped to the floor as the tuners turned into eight fiery rings that flew around Jack's ace.
"The three sages are incinerated by the surging flames and are reforged as the king's power! With the might of the Crimson Dragon, reign supreme with your flames of judgement! SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth! Level 12! RED DAEMON'S DRAGON MONARCH!"
A wave of flames covered the sky, causing everyone to look on in a mixture of shock and fear. The flames began to take shape, revealing a gigantic red and orange dragon with similar to Tyrant, but with six humongous wings that covered the sky. The dragon's fists were covered in flames and its core was dripping magma. The dragons horns protruded upwards, resembling that of a burning crown.
Red Daemon's Dragon Monarch (4000/3000) LVL:12
"I-I can't believe my eyes! Jack Atlas has done it again! He's Synchro Summoned using three Tuners at the same time! This is unprecedented! Insane! Unbelievable! Inconceivable!" Melissa shouted as the crowd roared like never before.
"Triple Tuning...this has to be a dream..." Rin uttered in awe.
"The king is continuing to evolve..." Yuya trailed off.
"He won't allow Yugo or anyone else to surpass him. Even when he's at the top, he doesn't stop getting stronger..." Crow said in an envious tone.
"We...We have to do something!" Rin shouted as she helplessly clenched her fists.
"I...might have an idea." Yuya said, putting his hand on Rin's shoulder before whispering something in her ear.
"...I'm in. Let's go!" Rin shouted before grabbing Yuya's hand and running off.
"Red Daemon's Dragon Monarch's effect allows it to gain 1000 ATK for each Red Daemon's Dragon in the graveyard! There are currently two, so Monarch gains 2000!" Jack explained as his dragon's eyes gained a fiery glow.

"That's more then enough to wipe out Odd Eyes Wing Dragon..." Masumi nervously said.
"Good thing I picked this up while I was ahead! Action Spell, Mirror Match! My monster's ATK becomes the same as your monster's ATK until the end of the turn!"
Odd Eyes Wing (3000/2500)-(6000/2500)
As the massive red dragon roared, the hybrid monster did the same, creating a powerful shockwave that shook the track.
"It's futile! I'll show you the pinnacle of the king's might! Red Daemon's Dragon Monarch's effect activates! All other cards on the field and in the opponent's hand are banished!" Jack cried as his dragon drove it's blazing fists into the ground. Suddenly, the highway began to shake as flames shot out of the ground and began to consume Yugo's field.
"W-What?!" Yugo shouted in shock as he looked at his field and then down at his hand.
"All of your hope will be incinerated here and now! ABSOLUTE POWER ERUPTION!" Jack declared as the storm of fire consumed the field.
"GRAAAAH!" Yugo cried as he was scorched by the flames while Odd Eyes Wing Dragon and his facedown, and the card in his hand was incinerated.
"This destruction...so this is the king's full power...!" Melissa eyes widened as the helicopter she was in had to fly high to avoid the flames.
"Grr...I'm...still alive..." Yugo growled as he drove through the fire with a cracked visor and burnt clothing.
"You won't be for long! With no cards on your field or in your hand, there's nothing you can do! Your fate was decided the moment you challenged me! You'll always be a lowly Common, hungry for power and wealth!" Jack shouted.
"Jack's power is too tough...even after everything...I still can't do anything..." Yugo grunted in anger before slamming his fist against his D-Wheel.
"I won't give you the chance. You're finished! BATTLE-"
"Yugo! Don't give up!" A familiar voice shouted from behind the boy.
As Yugo looked to his left, his eyes widened as he noticed a red D-Wheel driving on a road parallel to the one he was on. On the D-Wheel was none other than Yuya with Rin behind him.
"You've come too far to give up! If you stop fighting, I'll pummel you for sure!" Rin enthusiastically shouted.
"We're in this together, Yugo! Don't forget that! With the combined strength of everyone, you can win!" Yuya yelled at his counterpart.
"...Rin...Yuya..." Yugo uttered.
"That's right, Yugo!" Another familiar voice shouted.
"You guys are here too...?!" Yugo gasped as he looked to the right and saw Shun and Yuzu flying through the sky on top of Rise Falcon.
"Of course, we're your teammates! Don't forget how much you've grown! You've come so far...you're strong enough to grab hold of the future, so don't stop until you do!" Yuzu shouted in a proud tone.
"Yugo...remember everyone who battled in this tournament...remember all those who channeled their hopes and dreams into their dueling...and carry on their wishes by winning this duel!" Shun uncharacteristically shouted at the top of his lungs, shocking everyone, especially Yugo.
"...Yuzu...and Kurosaki..." Yugo softly said.
The boy closed his eyes as memories flashed of all the battles that took place throughout the tournament.
"Win this duel!" Andre, Jean, and Breo from Team Unicorn cheered.
"We're counting on you!" Yoshizo, Taro, and Jinbei from Team Taiyo cried.
"Yugo! Keep fighting!" Sawatari, Masumi, Yaiba, Hokuto, Roy and Gongenzaka shouted.
"As Yuzu's student, you're like my grand-student! That means you can't lose, even to this guy!" Sora screamed, much to everyone's surprise.
"You're the guy that knocked out our team, so you have to be the one who defeats the king!" Crow shouted with a smirk while Serena nodded in agreement.
"...Everyone...!"
A tear rolled down Yugo's face due to the overwhelming amount of support he had gained over the tournament. However, there was still one more person who hadn't voiced their support.
"Yugo!"
The blue and yellow haired boy looked to the sky and saw none other than Dark Rebellion flying high in the sky, with Yuto and Ruri on top of it.
"Y-Yuto...?!" Yugo uttered shock.
The two stared at each other for a brief moment. The tension in the air caused sweat to drip from Yugo's face as he looked at Yuto's unmoving expression. To the riding duelist's surprise, Yuto gave his counterpart a small nod.
"Win, Yugo. You're the only one who can see this through."
With everything that had happened in the past few days with the counterparts, Yugo felt a sense of relief wash over his body. Things weren't completely right between them, but this was a step in the right direction.
"Thank you...Yuto..."
Yugo took a deep breath in, as if he were absorbing the wishes of everyone in the dimension into him. The boy opened his eyes, which gave off a soft glow of determination, causing Jack's eyes to twitch.
"So this is his true power...gathering strength from the connections he's made throughout his journey..." Jack realized as he blinked, causing him to briefly see Yugo's aura take the shape of an army of people.
"They're right! It's not over yet! As long as I hold on to the bonds I've forged with my friends...no...my family...there's no way I can lose!" Yugo shouted as he placed his fist on his heart.
"Nonsense! You can't defy the power of the king!" Jack angrily shouted.
"I'm not defying anything...I'm simply calling out for the strength of my family to aid me one last time." Yugo explained with a large grin as five portals appeared in front of him.
"What the hell is going on?!" Jack questioned.
"Unfortunately for you, when you used Monarch's effect to incinerate my field, you triggered the effect of my facedown Trap Card, Storm of Rebellion!" Yugo shouted with a triumphant grin.
"That's...!" Ruri realized as she looked at Shun, who had a proud look while standing on his ace monster.
"So he's finally using it." Shun said with a small smile.
"When this card leaves the field due to an opponent's card effect, I can special summon a monster that has also left the field during this turn! Let's go, Yuya!" Yugo yelled.
"Alright! Rise! Supreme King White Dragon - Odd Eyes Wing Dragon!" Yuya shouted as his hybrid dragon returned through to Yugo's field through a portal.

"Let's do it, Yuzu!" Yugo shouted.
"Right! Return to the field, Clear Wing Machine Dragon!" Yuzu yelled as the mechanical dragon that she helped Yugo obtain flew out of a portal.

The five dragons let out a united roar which shook the highway. The dragon's let out a bright and beautiful light from their prismatic wings, causing everyone to look on in awe.
"Beautiful...!" Rin uttered.
"In the face of my absolute power...you still managed to find a way to survive by relying on the strength of your comrades...so this is the true strength of bonds...interesting!" Jack shouted with a smirk, surprising his opponent.
"King!" Yugo smiled.
"However, even with the strength of all of your friends, you wont be able to topple my almighty power! BATTLE! Red Daemon's Dragon Monarch, attack Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
"Not so fast! When I used Roll of Fate, the Trap Card, Gear Shift, was sent to the graveyard! At this moment, it's effect activates! By banishing this card when a WIND monster is attacked, I can switch the target of the attack to a different monster on my field! I'll change the target to Odd Eyes Wing Dragon!" Yugo countered as the hybrid dragon flew towards the enormous red dragon.
"EXPLOSIVE CRIMSON HELL ULTIMA!"
The red dragon's body ignited in crimson flames, shinning like the sun and blinding everyone who was watching the duel. With a ferocious cry, the flames shot forward towards Yugo's hybrid dragon.
"At this moment, Odd Eyes Wing Dragon's effect activates!" Yugo began.
"When an Odd Eyes monster would be destroyed, it can be place in an empty Pendulum Zone instead!" Yuya shouted as the dragon bursted into particles before materializing in the Pendulum Zone.

"...Not giving up despite the clear gap between us...your will to win this duel is admirable." Jack spoke.
"It's not just my will...it's the will of Rin, Yuzu, Yuya, Yuto, Kurosaki, the other Lancers, the Commons, and even the Tops! If it wasn't clear to you before...you're fighting all of us!" Yugo shouted.
"GO, YUGO!" Serena, Ruri, Sawatari, Masumi, Gongenzaka, Yaiba, Hokuto, and Roy screamed.
"YUGO! YUGO! YUGO!" The Commons cheered.
"YUGO! YUGO! YUGO!" Many Tops chanted, shocking Jack.
"They're all rallying with him..." Jack said in disbelief before closing his eyes. "...I can feel it. The first time, I can hear your soul beating, Yugo."
"You can hear my soul?" Yugo skeptically questioned.
"Not just your soul...the souls of many others, overlapping with yours. All of which share the same desire...watching you change the future." Jack continued.
"King..." Yugo uttered.
"I always thought that striving to grow with your own power was the only way to become strong enough to carve your own future...but maybe it isn't all about strength...maybe it truly is about the bonds you create..." Jack admitted, surprising Yugo. "Regardless...I'll continue to fight the way I've always have! My absolute power can't be defeated, no matter how many bonds you've forged!"
"I wouldn't have it any other way, king." Yugo smiled.
"I set two cards facedown, turn end." Jack concluded.
"Despite controlling four of his strongest dragons, all of their effects are negated! Not only that, Yugo has no cards in his hand currently thanks to Monarch's effect. And on top of everything, Jack Atlas' dragon has 6000 ATK! Is it truly hopeless for the boy wonder from the Commons...?" Melissa trailed off before shaking her head. "Screw it! Go, Yugo! You can win! Don't give up!"
"Yugo's even got the commentator on his side..." Yuzu uttered with a smile.
"Alright...c'mon, my deck...don't fail me now! MY TURN!" Yugo shouted as he drew with everything he had.
"Trap Activate! Red Rage!" Jack immediately shouted after Yugo drew, consuming the boy.
"A Trap Card at this timing?" Yugo said in confusion.
"Through this card's effect, if you don't attack Red Daemon's Dragon Monarch during this turn, you'll take damage equal to its ATK and this effect can't be negated! No matter the result, this is...THE TRUE FINAL TURN!" Jack roared, causing Yugo's eyes to widen.
"Yugo has to overcome Jack this turn...or this duel will be over..." Sawatari nervously said.
"I...wasn't planning on backing down! With the Scale 3 Speedroid Tri-Drone, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Yugo shouted as a toy drone with three propellers appeared in the blue column.

"This monster was born from Yuya and I combining our power and fighting together against Academia! I'll use that power to win this duel!" Yugo smirked.
"Go, Yugo!" Yuya cheered.
"Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect activates! Monarch's ATK is dropped to 0 and it's effects are negated! DISTORTION MIRROR!" Yugo cried as his dragon released a wave of blue energy from it's wings at the dragon.
"I won't allow that! Red Daemon's Dragon Monarch's effect activates! Once per turn, when a Monster, Spell, or Trap's effect targets this card, that effect is negated and that card is banished!" Jack yelled as his monster charged a ball of fire in it's fist.
"It has an effect like that?!" Yugo gasped.
"This is my soul's...BURNING DECREE!" Jack roared as his dragon lunged it's fist forward, firing a surging ball of fire that collided with the blue energy. A massive explosion ensued, causing a smoke to cloud the field.
"What happened?!" Melissa shouted in anticipation as she tried to see through the smoke.
"That was your last chance, Yugo! You can't overpower my soul's burning fury!" Jack shouted.
"You think so?" Yugo smirked as the smoke cleared, revealing Clear Wing Fast Dragon to still be in front of him.
"What?!" Jack gasped in confusion.
"Odd Eyes Wing Dragon's Pendulum Effect activated just in time, negating a monster effect once per turn." Yugo explained with a grin as he pointed up at the hybrid dragon, whose eyes were glowing red and green.
"And with Monarch's effect negated...that means...!" Rin realized before smiling.
"Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect continues! DISTORTION MIRROR!" Yugo screamed as his dragon fired another blue wave of energy from it's prismatic wings that wrapped around the large dragon.

"Yugo has done it! The king's strongest monster was reduced to 0 ATK! All Yugo needs to do is declare one last attack and it's over!" Melissa shouted as the crowd cheered and screamed.
"YUGO! YUGO! YUGO!"
Yugo's eyes softened as he heard the people of his dimension cheer his name. He then looked up at his two hybrid dragons, who made this victory possible.
"Thank you, Yuya..." Yugo uttered to himself as he looked over to his counterpart.
"Finish it, Yugo!" Yuya shouted with a thumbs up
"Right! Let's accelerate towards the future!" Yugo shouted as his five dragons let out a united roar.
"...Even though you've reduced my soul to a single ember...all it takes is one spark to ignite a raging fire! Trap Activate! Over The Red!" Jack shouted as his gigantic dragon began to swell in red energy. "When a Red Synchro Monster's ATK is lowered, its ATK becomes double its original ATK!"

"WHAT?!" Yugo shouted in disbelief.
"It's not over! Through Over The Red's effect, by banishing Red Daemon's Dragon Tyrant, Monarch gains it's ATK!" Jack explained as the soul of the dragon was absorbed into the gigantic dragon.
Monarch (8000/3000)-(11500/3000)
"U-Unbelievable...the king's dragon has reached a whopping 11500 ATK! And now Yugo must attack into it! Do something, Yugo!" Melissa desperately shouted.
"I still have one last trick up my sleeve...Tri-Drone's Pendulum Effect! Once per turn, if I control three or more WIND monsters, I can draw a card..." Yugo uttered as he placed his hand on his deck before closing his eyes.
He remembered Rin being kidnapped and him arriving to late to stop it.
He remembered Yuya forgiving him for their first encounter.
He remembered talking to Yuto about how they both lost people they loved.
He remembered losing to Darkness and Yuya saving him.
He remembered bonding with Yuzu over Fusion Summoning.
He remembered dueling the Duel Chasers with Yuzu.
He remembered Yuya saving him once again during his duel with Sergey.

"What are you waiting for?" The king asked, snapping Yugo back to reality.
"Sorry...I just can't help but remember what I'm fighting for...DRAW!" Yugo screamed as he put all of his strength into his draw, creating a powerful gust of wind. "This is...!"
"That look in his eyes...!" Rin uttered before feeling a rush of excitement.
"Monarch's power is unmatched. No matter how much power you gain from your friends, you can't overcome the might of the reigning king! Now, you must attack!" Jack shouted as he clenched his fist.
"You're wrong...the bonds I've forged throughout my journey...the family I gained...the person I've become...this card symbolizes it!" Yugo shouted as he grabbed the last card in his hand and raised it high in the air. "Let's go, Rin! I activate the Spell Card...Winds of Change!"
Yugo's five dragons let out a powerful roar before turning into green energy that stormed throughout the field.
"What the hell is going on?!" Jack shouted in confusion.
"By paying half of my life points and banishing all the monsters on my field, I can special summon a WIND Synchro Monster from my graveyard!" Yugo explained before getting hit by a jolt of electricity.

"...Revive, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as the energy turned into a tornado on his field, which the white dragon flew out of.

"Alright! He used it!" Rin shouted with glee.
"But Yugo payed such a heavy price in the process..." Yuya uttered in confusion.
"All that just to bring back that dragon?" Jack questioned.
"That's right. There's no one I'd rather have by my side at the very end! If the embodiment of your soul is Red Daemon's Dragons, then my soul is this card...Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as he looked up at his dragon with a smile.
"I'm honored to fight by your side, master."
"How poetic. The clash of our souls will end this climatic duel. Now come, Yugo!" Jack challenged as his dragon roared.
"Right! Let's go! BATTLE! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, attack Red Daemon's Dragon Monarch!" Yugo shouted as he pumped his fist through the air.
Clear Wing rocketed into the sky before stopping. The dragon let out an earth shaking roar before summoning a hurricane of green wind.
From within the storm, the spirits of Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, Clear Wing Fast Dragon, Clear Wing Machine Dragon, and Clear Wing Storm Dragon appeared beside the dragon.
"What's going on?! All of the dragons Yugo just banished have appeared beside his ace monster!" Melissa shouted in confusion.
"This is the power of our combined might! When the monster special summoned by Winds of Change declares an attack during the turn it was summoned, its ATK is multiplied by the amount of monsters that were banished through its effect!" Yugo explained with a large grin.
"Since five monsters were banished...that means...!" Jack's eyes widened.
"...CLEAR WING'S ATK IS MULTIPLIED BY FIVE!" Yugo screamed as his ace and the five spiritual dragons roared.
The green energy that was shining throughout the field was absorbed into Clear Wing, causing it to shine like a star.
Clear Wing (2500/2000)-(12500/2000)
"O-Oh my god! Clear Wing has reached an utterly incredible 12500 ATK! That means...!" Melissa's eyes widened.
"Thank you...Rin..." Yugo uttered as he looked over to the green haired girl, who had tears in her eyes.
"I knew you could do it, Yugo..." Rin emotionally said with a proud smile and tears of joy.
"So that's how it is..." Jack looked down for a moment, leaving his expression unclear to his opponent.
But to the teen's surprise, the blonde haired turned his D-Wheel around and drove backwards. The king had a large grin on his face and extended his arms outwards.
"This is your message to all of the people of this city, Yugo! By fighting for each other and working together, the power of bonds will carry us into a new age! Be a better man then I was! Be the best king this city has ever seen!" Jack shouted in a proud tone, shocking Yugo.
"King..." Yugo said with a smile while tears dropped down his face.
"Go, Yugo!" Yuya and Rin shouted.
"Do it, Yugo!" Yuzu, Yuto, and Shun cried.
"Thank you...everyone..." Yugo wiped the tears from his eyes and steeled his resolve before looking up into the sky at his ace monster. "Let's do it, everyone! Go, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon! Krystallos Gale Edge!"
"Go, Clear Wing Fast Dragon! Rapid Skydrop Charge!" Yuya yelled.
"Go, Clear Wing Machine Dragon! Mechanized Sky Assault!" Yuzu cried.
"Go, Clear Wing Storm Dragon! Storming Cyclone Strike!" Yuto shouted.
"Go, Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Shinning Tempest Drive!" Yugo roared.
In a storm of green and blue energy, the five spiritual dragons flew down from the sky and struck the gigantic red dragon, severely damaging it and leaving several cracks across it's body.
"Let's go, Rin! This is for our future!" Yugo shouted.
"Right! Go, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon..." Rin began.
"...finish this duel and lead us into the future!" Yugo continued.
"WHIRLWIND...HELL DIVE...SLASHER!"
Clear Wing's green prismatic wings shined like a solar flare before it began it's spinning descent. The dragon struck through the center of the gigantic dragon, leaving a hole in it's chest. The red dragon let out one last battle cry before exploding into particles that flooded the battle field.
Jack silently smiled as he closed his eyes before getting hit by a massive wave of green energy that spun out his D-Wheel.

Silence filled the arena and track, with the only sound being made was the screeching breaks of the D-Wheels.
Yugo looked at the fallen king before looking at his shaking hand. The boy tightened his fidgeting hand into a fist and closed his eyes.
"This isn't...a dream...w-we...did it...WE DID IT!" Yugo screamed, pumping his fist through the air.
"I knew you could do it, master."
Yugo looked up at his dragon, who nodded at the boy as it began to disappear.
"Thank you...Clear Wing..." Yugo smiled as his dragon dissolved.
"YUGO! YOU WON!"
Yugo whipped his head around and saw Rin jumping off Yuya's D-Wheel.
The green haired girl laughed with tears in her eyes before leaping into Yugo's arms.
"You did it! You really did it! You beat the king! You ARE the king!" Rin shouted as the two embraced.
"And I won with the card you gave me...it's because of you...and everyone else...that I was able to win..." Yugo thankfully uttered as his eyes also began to water.
"No other person could've done what you did out there today...you're amazing...truly amazing..." Rin said as her cheeks gained a pink hue.
As Yugo embraced the green haired girl, he opened his eyes to see Yuya standing off in the distance. After a few moments, Rin and Yugo separated and they approached the red and green haired boy.
"You carried on everyone's wishes, Yugo. You united the city with your dueling. You really are a true king." Yuya said with a smile.
"Yuya...thank you. None of this would be possible without your support." Yugo said before handing Yuya back Tuning Magician and Odd Eyes Wing Dragon.
"Thank you for lending Yugo your strength." Yuya told his cards before putting them back into his deck.
"And this belongs to you, Rin." Yugo said as he handed Rin the Winds of Change card.
"C'mon Yugo, the Duel King can't just go around handing out the card he used to win. You should keep it. Besides, once I take your spot and become the Duel Queen, I'll just take the card back for myself!" Rin smirked.
"Hey, I thought our dream was to be on the same team!" Yugo shouted.
"That was before you dethroned the previous Duel King! Now, I gotta beat you to claim the title for myself!" Rin argued back.
"These two sure have an interesting dynamic..." Yuya nervously laughed as the teens bickered.
"Yugo...or should I say...King..." Jack said as he approached the group, causing Yugo and Rin to cease their arguing.
"Jack...thank you for the match." Yugo respectfully said as he bowed.
"Eh?" Rin let out in shock.
"Through both of our duels...I've learned so much about myself and this city...you've pushed me to surpass myself and never be satisfied with my strength...I promise to be the best king I can be." Yugo spoke, causing Jack to smile.
"...You're a really interesting kid, you know that?" Jack smirked, causing Yugo to look up. "From this day on, I am simply a challenger for the title. I'll continue to evolve my dueling to new heights, so don't grow stagnant while on the throne."
"R-Right." Yugo nodded, but his expression was still filled with nervousness, which Jack picked up on.
"You're worried about leading the people as the king, correct?" Jack asked.
"You could say that...I may have been able to connect to everyone while I was dueling...but what about while I'm not dueling? How can I get everyone to listen to me?" Yugo asked the former king.
"Simply do what you did during the duel. Speak from your heart. You've fought hard to gain the upmost respect of this city. But most importantly, you showed everyone the potential of unity through your words and your dueling, which is something my style never allowed me to do." Jack said before pointing his hand on Yugo's shoulder. "And just like during our duel, even when it seems like your fighting alone, you still have the support of everyone you care about."
Yugo looked at Yuya and Rin while thinking about his teammates and the other Lancers.
"In truth...I pushed my friends away when they didn't want to inherit the power that came from the throne. That was the biggest mistake of my life..." Jack trailed off as memories of his Crow and Kiryu flooded his mind. "...I still believe that individual strength is important...but you reminded me that the strength of bonds have far greater potential. After hearing you speak during the middle of our duel, I think I realized that the only way for Team Satisfaction's original goal to be accomplished was if someone else took the throne. And that someone is you, Yugo."
"Jack..." Yugo uttered before smiling at the former king and extending out his hand. "...I understand. Thank you, Jack Atlas."
"No...thank you...Yugo..." Jack said before accepting the handshake.
"YUGO! You're the best!"
Suddenly, Yuzu tackled Yugo from behind, causing them both to fall to the ground.
"Ack! Yuzu, I'm sore!" Yugo cried.
"Sorry, I couldn't contain myself. That duel was awesome." Yuzu cheerfully told her teammate.
"That...was quite the display of strength. I'm honored to call you my comrade, Yugo." Shun said with a small smile, extending a hand to the boy.
"That means a lot, Kurosaki. Let's carry our teamwork on to the battlefield against Academia." Yugo told his teammate with a grin before being helped off the ground.
"Yeah, and I'm not gonna accept my card back. It's yours now, so you better keep using it to win, or I'll take it back." Shun told the boy in a serious tone.
"G-Got it." Yugo nodded.
"That was a good duel, Yugo."
Yugo turned around to see Yuto, who seemed a bit out of place at the moment.
"Thanks, Yuto. I'm glad you came to cheer me on." Yugo told his counterpart, doing his best to set aside the tension for the time being.
"Yeah...it was nice of you to show some support..." Yuzu told the boy, much to his surprise.
"...Of course...Yugo...Yuzu..." Yuto nodded.
In the background, Yuya's eyes narrowed at the sight of Yuto interacting with Yuzu and Yugo. His hands twitched before curling into a fist for a brief moment.
"Are you ok, Yuya?" Rin quietly asked.
"...Of course, why wouldn't I be?"
Not too long after, an awards ceremony was held for the induction of the Friendship Cup winners and the new king.
"Attention, everyone! It's now time for the crowning of this year's champions! Starting us off is the battle hardened rebel who set his team up for victory by taking out many opponents, Shun Kurosaki!"
A holographic of image of Shun was shown throughout the stadium as he stepped up onto a golden podium in the middle of the stadium. Without showing much emotion, Shun walked towards the center of the stage and accepted a trophy from Jack Atlas.
"Your spirit is stronger than most and your dueling is full of experience. I can also tell you've gone through some growth during your time with your teammates. Make sure you remember the lessons you learned. Congratulations on your victory." Jack told the older teen.
"Thank you." Shun nodded before walking off.
He thought about the king's words. Had he really changed?
During their first duel, he was consumed with anger and revenge, completely decimating the spy for his treachery. Despite his victory, he wasn't concerned about sending his two other comrades to the underground.
During the second duel, he realized that he was fighting a losing battle and was only helping his opponent's strategy, so he took himself out in an attempt to defeat his opponent while also setting up Yuzu for victory.
During the third duel, he learned the difference between not holding back and destroying your opponent through violence. He realized that he actually held respect for his Lancer comrades while dueling Gongenzaka and Masumi.
Then, he dueled Sora for the third time and had the opportunity to finish him off. Yet, Yuzu asked him to show mercy and he trusted her judgement. The gamble led to Yuzu getting the opportunity to save both his sister, Ruri. Not only that, Sora proved himself to be somewhat trustworthy, though he still kept his eyes on the young boy.
"Congratulations, brother!" Ruri called out to the older Kurosaki, causing him to smile.
Shun never wanted to come to this dimension and he made that clear throughout his time in Synchro. Yet, he was able to gain back some of his humanity. He was able to gain respect for his allies. He forged new friendships. He even gained back his sister.
"I guess coming here wasn't so bad after all..." Shun thought to himself as he exited the podium.
"Up next is the flower girl that took this competition by storm with her beautiful dueling, Yuzu Hiragi!"
Yuzu smiled and waved before reaching Jack Atlas and accepting his award.
"Your dueling acted as a solid relay between your two teammates. Not only that, your selflessness allowed your teammate to get the chance to become a true king. Your support is the reason your team is here today." Jack told the young girl.
"Thank you for the praise." Yuzu politely said with a bow before exiting the stage.
As she looked on in the crowd, she thought about the king's assessment and her overall performance.
In the first duel, she defeated Tsukikage and made Yaiba use most of his resources while getting his life points low. In a way, she laid the groundwork for Kurosaki sweeping the rest of the team.
In the second duel, she managed to perform a combo using Shun's Trap and her Xyz Monster. She also set up the means for Yugo to use Fusion after being defeated. Overall, this was her best performance, where she truly showed coordination between her teammates.
In the third duel, she choked, plain and simple. Her team had a pressing advantage, with Masumi being on the verge of defeat after her battle with Shun. Yet, she allowed herself to get pushed into a corner by her rival. Despite bringing out her newest monster, she still was forced into a draw. If she had saw Masumi's last resort coming, she could have won and went on to face Yuto. Instead, Yugo had to fight Yuto alone, which could have resulted in his defeat if it wasn't for him unlocking Accel Synchro.
And before the tournament, she got her ass kicked by the Black Rose Witch. During the tournament, Serena managed to avenge their loss while she was being escorted to safety by Sora and Shun. Then, Shun had to sacrifice himself so they could get away. After that, she became overwhelmed by the horde of Obelisk Force and had to be saved by Yuya. And although she managed to save Ruri and Rin, it was only thanks to the mysterious power that connected her and Serena. Had it not been for that, she would have been defeated and captured.
In her last chance to duel, she gave up her spot in the final so Yuya and Yugo could duel each other one on one. She didn't forfeit so the duel would be fair, but because the city only responded to the dueling of Yuya and Yugo. That fact made her jealous that despite having the same goal, she couldn't follow through while Yuya and Yugo could. Once again, she left everything up to someone else.
And that was all there was to her time in Synchro. She never got any big wins on her own accord, her only feats were supporting her teammates and relying on the strength of others. She didn't want to always be the one supporting others. She didn't want to be saved by someone or something else. She wanted to be a duelist or could win with her own power.
"I...wish I could've done more..." Yuzu uttered, hiding the pain she felt with a smile that greeted the audience.
"Great job, Yuzu!"
"I, the man Gongenzaka, am so proud of you!"
"Congrats, you earned it!"
"That's my student!"
Yuzu's eyes widened as she heard Yuya, Gongenzaka, Masumi, and Sora cheering her on. Her love, her childhood best friend, her rival, and her mentor.
"I'll become stronger...for them...!" Yuzu said to herself, steeling her resolve for the future.
"And lastly, the duelist who was chosen to challenge the king, and the first person in a long time to actually inherit the throne of Duel King, Yugo!"
With a happy grin, Yugo walked onto the podium, causing the audience to explode in cheers even more than before.
After handing Yugo a trophy, the former king placed his hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Yugo...your grit and willpower led your team through many hard battles. When the odds were stacked against, you never gave up hope and pushed through with the power of the bonds you shared with your friends. I'm honored to call you the new Duel King."
Jack took out a necklace that was hidden within his jacket and gave it to the boy.
Yugo looked at the golden necklace that had a crown emblem on it.
"Although I don't have a real crown for you to wear, this should suffice. You are officially now the Duel King, congratulations."
Yugo hesitated for a brief moment, thinking about the struggles the former king went through trying to change the minds of the people in this city.
"Go, Yugo!" Yuya cheered.
"You got this!" Rin yelled.
But then he smiled, realizing that he wasn't alone. He still had all of his friends and allies backing him up.
Yugo placed the crown necklace around his neck and beginning to speak.
"INFERNITY HELL INFERO!"
"DARK PETAL FLARE!"
Two powerful blasts shot down from the sky and collided with the stadium, causing a powerful explosion that the Lancers got caught in.
A wave of smoke consumed the stadium floor, blinding the vision of all those who were still conscious.
"Grr...what the hell...?!" Yuya grunted as he rubbed his head and looked around.
"LET ME GO!"
Yuya's eyes widened as he heard the sound of Yuzu screaming.
"YUZU!" Yuya shouted as the girl was lifted up into the air by a vine while Kurosaki was knocked out, unable to save the girl from capture.
Yuya began to run towards his love but to his surprise, another vine shot in his direction towards his teammate.
"SERENA!" Yuya tried to warn the girl, but she too was unconscious.
Without thinking, Yuya leaped in front of Serena and activated his duel disk before slashing the vine in half with the solid vision blade.
However, this decision left him unable to reach Yuzu in time. All he could do what helplessly watch the pink-haired girl get carried away by the Black Rose Witch and her dragon.
At the same time, Yuto held Ruri in his arms while trying to wake her.
"Ruri, get up! It's not safe!" Yuto shouted, but the girl's status didn't change.
"Sorry, kid. I'm gonna have to take her off your hands."
Yuto's eyes widened as he looked up and saw Kiryu standing over him.
"Why...why are you doing this...?!" Yuto angrily shouted.
Kiryu responded by kicking Yuto in the gut, who was too weak to dodge. After the boy fell over, Kiryu lifted the girl up into his arms.
"Let her go...I can't lose her again!" Yuto cried while struggling to get up.
Kiryu sorrowfully looked at Yuto, hesitating to walk away with the innocent girl in his arms.
"KIRYU!"
To his surprise, Kiryu was slugged in the face by Crow, causing him to drop the long-haired girl.
"Tch..." Kiryu spit out some blood while glaring at Crow.
"Kiryu, are you really still working for Roget?! After everything he's done?!"
"...It doesn't matter anymore..." Kiryu grunted before back away from the two and disappearing in the smoke.
"Get back here!" Crow shouted as he went to chase after his former friend, but his legs gave out, causing him to fall over.
"Rin! Where are you?!" Yugo shouted out as he tried searching for the green-haired girl.
"Yugo, I'm here!" Rin responded.
Yugo began to see Rin's image from within the smoke, causing him to smile in relief.
"Rin!" Yugo yelled as the two got closer and closer.
Suddenly, Kiryu's dragon landed between them, causing both teens to jump backwards.
"Rin, run!" Yugo commanded as he activated his duel disk. Before he could grab Clear Wing's card, he was smacked away by the dragon's hand.
"Yugo, no!" Rin screamed in fear, causing the dragon to turn towards her.
"Grab her!" Kiryu commanded as he ran out of the smoke and jumped onto his dragon's back. Rin tried to run away, but the dragon easily snatched her up and took flight.
"RIN!" Yugo roared, extending his arm out.
"YUGO!" The girl helplessly cried as the dragon ascended into the sky.
Yugo and Yuya both cried as Infernity Void Dragon and Black Rose Blooming Dragon flew out of sight...
God, I'm tired. Sorry this took so long, but there were a lot of factors at play, including me not being able to log into my account for almost two months. Yeah, it's been rough. During that time though, I was able to write some of the duels that will conclude this arc, so there is that.
About the duel, I don't have much to say except I hope it was satisfactory. I don't think it was possible for me to write a better duel than the previous round, since Yuya had a lot more to work with compared to Jack. Speaking of Jack, in order to make him more of a threat, I gave him some of his 5Ds cards along with a new boss monster. I felt like Yugo had become too strong for the cannon version of the king, so I gave him a buff so that duel would feel like Yugo was on the losing end. I always planned for Yugo to use Tuning Magician and Odd Eyes Wing in order to reinforce the idea that "teamwork makes the dream work", or something. I did my best to write the duel so that it felt like Odd Eyes Wing would be the last card that Yugo would use to win the duel, only for Jack to miraculously survive and pull off triple tuning. I decided to have Rin help get Yugo the win since I wanted to give her some plot relevance since she was only introduced into the story late into her own dimension's arc. Plus, it was always their dream to fight together, so in a way, their dream was accomplished.
The only other thing I'll talk about is the ending. We have Shun reflecting on his character development while Yuzu is disappointed. Shun's stuff is self explanatory, with him gaining trust in his allies while also getting back his sister. Yuzu on the other hand, wants to become less of a damsel, which I personally wouldn't classify her as one but she's hard on herself. It's good that she realizes that in the future, she won't always be dueling with other people, so she needs to increase her own strength. This will play into the next arc when she meets a certain legacy character.
We're going into the final chapters of this arc, which should be around 4-5 more chapters, and then we finally move to Xyz.

charly12: I very much agree with your assessment. Did Yugo deserve to be king in cannon? I don't think so, but he should've have dueled and lost to Yuya (and possibly lent Clear Wing to Yuya for his duel with Jack) instead of getting DiSqUaLiFiEd for no good reason other than "let's save money for DSOD." That's why I tried my best to give Yugo an actual arc since he's actually a character in this story and not a plot device.
T.V.2000: I'm glad you liked the decision of Yugo winning out. I agree that he lacked a reason to win in cannon which is why it was easier to root for Yuya while the anime was airing. That's an interesting point you made about Jack, which is sort of what I had Yugo talk about here when he basically said "tops don't care about commons and commons are too willing to resort to violence to get ahead." Both sides are kinda messed up, but probably more so the tops.
