Heya readers, sorry this fic got delayed, I had been working on 'Little Geisha Lost' which was way due a chapter and I was also rather busy over the weekend and didn't manage to finish this chapter before it ended, but luckily I managed to put on together and get it up today!
Hope it was worth the wait!
Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Four
What's Inside?
On the Nemesis, Soundwave stood in the control room with Megatron who was clutching his head in pain.
After Megatron had arrived back on the Nemesis after his battle with Optimus and Tyroth and he had been looked over by Knock Out, he had requested Soundwave to analyse his findings from the Volcano and like Ratchet he too had made the discovery of the Heartbeat and on his screen that he had instead of a face, there was a heart monitor showing the beating lines.
"Stop Soundwave!" the Warlord barked "Turn it off! I can still hear a pounding in my brain!"
As he clenched his head, his eyes and veins glowed purple, then closing his optics, he saw the volcano he had been standing under as he had fought Optimus and Tyroth not so long ago.
He saw it erupt and the purple magma spewed from it, then he found himself looking deep into it, only to see a pair of poisonous purple eyes and a face form.
Then he heard a deep booming and threatening voice speak and it shook him to the core...
"I AWAKEN..."
Back at the silo, everyone was silent as the heartbeat sounded around the room.
On the high platform, everyone went pale and looked at each other as they listened to that undeniable sound.
The Autobots were silent as they listened and Optimus looked rather shocked.
Down where the medics were looking after the wounded Culpepper, they too heard it and looked at each other.
"A heartbeat..." James and Dahlia breathed in stereo.
Culpepper looked up in shock as he too heard the heartbeat.
"How is that possible?" he asked but Dahlia shushed him.
"You need to rest." she said.
Culpepper frowned and touched his forehead where James had placed a gauze on it.
"Ugghh." he groaned as he felt the pain through his head.
He then felt James's hand push his hand away back onto his lap.
"Just relax son." he said looking at Dahlia then they both looked back to the raised platform listening to the heartbeat from Ratchet's screens.
"A cybertronian heartbeat?" Loki exclaimed breaking the silence.
"No way!" Freya said.
"A heart pumps blood!" James called up "There's nothing inside the Earth to pump except..."
"The Blood of Unicron!" Donatello spoke up.
Everyone murmured and looked at each other in confusion and shock.
"Okay hold on!" Sonia spoke up "You mean somethings living down there? Inside our planet?"
Tyroth looked a little pale as he listened to the heartbeat and he looked at Sephie who caught his eye and they both shared the same look, but before they could speak, Optimus spoke up.
"I fear that the Earth's very core is not comprised of Magma as your science has suggested, but of dark energon."
"Then if we're hearing a spark, then Unicron is the rising darkness that the prophecy foretold." Ratchet mused as he rubbed his chin in thought.
"So how do we stop this thing from rising?" Fowler asked, his eyebrows lowered, feeling concerned about the whole matter.
"That I'm afraid was not foretold." Optimus said shaking his head.
"How can something be in our Earth's Core and be alive?" April asked.
"Such a thing is not unprecedented." Optimus said "Before the beginning..."
"The beginning?" Percy asked "Like the whole before God made the Earth?"
"Shut up Percy!" Kate growled and Jack whacked the grasshopper on the back of the head.
"Quiet you three!" Amber scolded.
Optimus looked over at the three Mutopians with a raised eyebrow ridge but Jake spoke.
"Don't mind them." he said "Carry on Prime."
"Thank you Jake." Optimus said then started again "Before the beginning, there was Primus..."
"Cybertron's God..." Donatello said and Optimus nodded "And there was Unicron." he said.
"Basically Cybertron's Devil?" Loki suggested.
"Indeed." the Prime nodded at the Geckoling.
"One the incarnation of creation, the other of destruction." Optimus continued.
Ironhide nodded in agreement.
"For Eons," Optimus went on "Primus and Unicron Battled, the balance of Power shifting between them more times than could be counted, only by created the thirteen, the original Primes had preceded me was Primus able to defeat Unicron and cast him out..."
"Just like in the bible myths." Jake whispered "When St Micheal cast Lucifer out of Paradise."
Amber cocked her head at Jake and raised an eyebrow curious at his knowledge.
"I learnt about it in High School." Jake explained "And I also knew someone who was heavily into myths from different religions and cultures."
"Ah." Amber realised.
"Primus became one with the very core of our planet." Optimus continued "Creating life through the Well of All Sparks, while Unicron was never to be heard from again...until now..."
As Optimus had spoken, Monalisa closed her eyes as the memories of Diablo had returned to her, even though it had been years, his betrayal to Mutopia was still fresh in her mind, and in a way he too was like Unicron, and had been cast out of Mutopia, or rather, he exiled himself to live his life his way along with his Disciples.
Jake too thought about his mutated brother as he listened to Optimus as well, yet Fowler's voice brought him out of his thoughts.
"Maybe we can find this hold this Uber Con left when he dug himself all the way down there and fill it full of explosives!" Fowler suggested.
The Autobots were silent for a moment, as were the Mutants, April and Casey then Optimus spoke up.
"Agent Fowler." Optimus said "I do not believe that Earth became Unicron's home, but rather that with time and gravitational force, debris collected around the slumbering titan."
"Forming your Earth itself!" Ratchet finished.
Fowler blinked as he took in what was told to him and the other mutants and humans looked at each other in shock.
"And he's only awakening now due to the magnetic pull created by the planetary alignment!" Arcee piped up.
Michelangelo gulped.
"Okay well." he said nervously "What happens now when Unicron wakes up from his billion year nap?"
Optimus was silent as he looked at the orange masked turtle.
"You don't know do you?" Monalisa asked.
Optimus looked up.
"My guess is that Unicron has transcended physical form as we know it," Optimus said narrowing his eyes as he thought hard.
"Nonetheless, we must find a way that this force of nature never fully awakens...the fate of your planet, depends on it."
Meanwhile on the Nemesis, Megatron stood in the main control room looking out of the front as the Nemesis was hovering above the area near the Volcano he had fought Optimus and he had ordered his soldiers and miners to gather as much of the dark energon as possible, just like they did with the normal energon.
As he stood there lost in his thoughts, Airachnid walked up to the warlord.
"Lord Megatron." she addressed him "Our Cargo hold is nearly filled with the dark substance, I recommend a retreat, the troops are growing weak from its effects."
"And yet I grow stronger." Megatron growled not turning around to the Spider-bot.
He thought for a second then started to walk to the exit of the control room.
"Airachnid." he addressed her "You're in command until my return."
Airachnid bowed in respect to the the warlord but she frowned as she wondered where he was going.
"Your return from where Master?" she asked.
"From my audience with Unicron." Megatron growled as he left the room, again not turning around.
Airachnid raised an eyebrow ridge and turned to Soundwave wondering if Megatron had lost his mind as Knock Out had suggested.
Meanwhile after he had left the control room, Megatron had made his way to the top of the Nemesis and after transforming into his jet form, he flew down towards the Volcano before landing at the opening of it and looked down into the fiery purple inferno.
"I feel your presence!" he called down waving his arms in emphasis "Share your very spark! I call on you as my Lord and Master Almighty Unicron!"
As he shouted those words, the volcano smoked and the ground rumbled, and Megatron stood and watched as the smoke rose higher into the air then a face formed in the smoke along with a pair of poisonous purple eyes.
"Who would Speak to me?" a dark voice was heard.
"Your servent most humble!" Megatron called up from the ground and bowed "Megatron! Leader of the Decepticons and your very Herald, the one who wielded the dark energon which binds us to awaken you once again! The prophecy has been fulfilled! It is only the beginning of what we shall accomplish together! For you shall rule this planet and those who walk upon it through me!"
"Prideful Fool!" The face in the smoke spoke and Megatron's face fell "How dare you think yourself capable of summoning my life force, I rise because I have deemed it my time!"
"Master!" Megatron grovelled "I did not mean to overstep...
"Silence fool!" Unicron snapped "I have no need of your lowly assistance!"
Megatron was shocked, feeling rather betrayed after all he had done, but he fell on his eyes and grovelled again.
"Please my Lord!" he said "I exist only to serve you!"
"What is this I sense?" Unicron asked as his purple eyes glowed "The taint of Primus here?"
"That is Optimus!" Megatron piped up "The last of the Primes, our sworn enemy!"
"You profess loyalty to me, yet allow a disciple of Primus to live?" Unicron demanded furiously.
"I will destroy him for you!" Megatron called up "His screams will be heard..."
"I grow weary of your prattle!" Unicron butted in "Surely if you had the power to destroy this Prime, you would have done so already! I will deal with him myself!"
The face of Unicron along with the smoke disappeared back into the volcano and Megatron looked into it, feeling agitated and furious that things hadn't gone to plan and he began to think for a moment on what had transpired and what Unicron had said...
Looks like Megatron didn't get the result he wanted when he finally summoned Unicron, tough luck huh?
