In the hallways...
Midoriya, Bakugo and Rena Rouge all walked down the hallway, finally getting somewhere with this mystery. Midoriya didn't understand how this was even happening, but also wasn't surprised that the League of Villains were somehow involved in all of this. Whatever the reason was, he couldn't let them get through to the portal.
Midoriya felt his throat getting dry again and rubbed his neck. Something about his nightmare seemed to bother him even more for some reason. He knew that it was just a dream, but it still knawed at him again. He could tell that something about it seemed important, and he didn't know why. It had nothing to do with the League of Villains or the portal, and yet...
It seemed important to him.
He noticed Bakugo staring at him, and he instinctively took his hand away from his throat. For a moment, he just looked at the floor as they walked down the hallway. He didn't dare look up at him, knowing full well that he was still wondering what was up with him. With Rena Rouge here, he didn't want to make this about him. He wanted to figure out what was going on with Skylar, the League of Villains and the portal.
Midoriya got a huge chill up his back, remembering how intimidating Skylar looked in his dream. He just hoped that Skylar had nothing to do with any of this. If anything, he hoped that this feeling he was getting from her was only because of that dream he had of her. He tried to shake off this chilling feeling going up and down his back, but it wasn't letting up.
"This school is pretty huge. Much bigger than I was expecting," Rena Rouge exclaimed to them, "Then again, this is a hero school. I guess you'd need a lot of space for so many heroes in training."
"Yeah. This school can be pretty intimidating when you first come here," Midoriya said, trying to ignore what he's going through.
"Whatever. This school was never intimidating for me. I got use to it right away," Bakugo said to her.
Rena Rouge gave Bakugo a knowing look, which just made him look away from her.
"Sure you did," Rena Rouge said back in a teasing manner.
When Midoriya looked up, he spotted Rena Rouge's Miraculous around her chest. Something about it reminded him of how good it felt to have a Kwami like Dekku around. He looked down at his Miraculous, missing his own Kawmi being around him. Just that feeling of having a companion around him gave him such comfort.
"Are you okay Izuku? You look upset about something," Rena Rouge asked him.
Midoriya looked at her and hesitated to say anything. He could barely get the words out as he stared at her Miraculous. She seemed to notice and knew exactly what this was about. She walked over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry for what happened to your Miraculous," Rena Rouge said to him, "Marinette told me what happened. I wish I could've been there to stop it from getting detroyed. How is it?"
Midoriya felt a little better since he already had gotten over it. He just didn't expect it to take so long for Dekku to come back.
"I can recharge it with One for All, but it's taking a lot longer to charge it than I thought it would," Midoriya explained to her, "You don't have to apologize. You weren't even here. If anything, I'm glad that you're here to help us figure a few things out."
"Of course," Rena Rouge said back with a smirk, "I brought some things with me that should help you guys out. Don't worry. I won't tell Skylar anything unless I have to."
Midoriya completely forgot about how to deal with her. She didn't know about the portal or even the other Paris. He didn't know how he was going to tell her about this situation. He scratched his head, trying to figure out what to say to her.
"I completely forgot about her," Midoriya said to her, "I haven't even explained to her about your Paris. She shouldn't even know about you coming over through the portal. We haven't exactly told her about that, just the Miraculous and Kwamis."
"Don't worry about it," Rena Rouge said to him, "I'm sure that I can just tell her that I came over to help out Adrien and Chloe. We are friends after all."
Midoriya let out a sigh, feeling a little better. He didn't like lying to her, but for now he had to keep this on the down low.
"Thanks Alya. We owe you after this is over," Midoriya told her.
"That's okay. You can just get me to meet AllMight so I can finally that autograph. Marinette never got around to giving me one, but now I can finally meet him in person," Rena Rouge exclaimed to him.
Midoriya couldn't help but smile, seeing Rena Rouge getting excited to meet AllMight. Something about it made him forget about his nightmare for a moment. He chuckled, remembering Marinette reading the letter from Alya.
"Of course. I'm sure he'd be happy to meet you," Midoriya said to her, "But first..."
Midoriya noticed that they were already out of the school, which got him worried about a certain someone's reaction to all of this. He gulped, thinking about Mr. Aizawa's scarf and his intense glare. Bakugo seemed to notice and got that same feeling as well.
"We need to explain things to Mr. Aizawa before he uses his scarf on us..."
Outside of Class 2-A's dormitory...
Rena Rouge was surprised to see how big their dormitory was. She knew that it would be big considering the size of the school building. Something about actually seeing it herself felt even more amazing than she was expecting. This was one of the biggest hero schools in their Japan, maybe even their world. She stood outside of it, feeling so excited to get started on finding out what's really going on with the school and Class 2-A.
Her eyes couldn't stop looking away from how big their dormitory was.
"Wow! This is so cool!" Rena Rouge exclaimed, "I've never realized that Adrien and Chloe went to this type of hero school. I can't wait to see them. I can't believe I'm even saying this, but I actually miss Chloe as well. It's not the same in school without her always yelling. It feels... less chaotic around school without her."
Midoriya couldn't help but chuckle at that comment, and Bakugo blushed a little since they were dating now.
"I'm sure they'll be excited to see you too," Midoriya said to her, "Let's just deal with Mr. Aizawa first. He's probably going to lecture me and Kacchan for a while. I just want you to be prepared for that. He can be a bit... demanding."
"Don't worry about it. I've met him before," Rena Rouge said to them, "Maybe he'll understand if we explain things."
"I don't think so. If anything, he's probably going to put us under house arrest for turning on the portal," Bakugo said to her, "We never got permission to use it. I know he won't like us going behind his back just to bring back one of you over here. Especially after finding out what is going on with the League of Villains."
Rena Rouge knew nothing about this League of Villains, but she's heard them talk about them here and there before. She noticed how tense Bakugo got when Midoriya mentioned them. She could tell something happened between him and this group of villains. Whatever it was, she knew that it had to do with when he got captured by them. She didn't know much about it, but only little bits of it from Class 1-A talking about it back in Paris.
She noticed Midoriya taking a deep breath in and out, ready to enter the dormitory.
"Alright. Let's just get this over with," Midoriya said to them.
They all followed him as they got ready to head inside. Midoriya was about to open the door, when they opened before he could. Before he knew it, scarves launched at him and tightened up before he could get away. Bakugo even didn't expect it, but was further away from the door. Mr. Aizawa walked over to Midoriya with such an intense red glow to his eyes that Rena Rouge felt a shiver go up her back.
"M-Mr. A-Aizawa! I-I can explain!" Midoriya cried out, "W-We were just--"
"You don't need to explain yourself," Mr. Aizawa told him without looking at Rena Rouge, "Iida explained to me what was going on."
Midoriya's eyes widened, and Rena Rouge walked up to him to help support them both. Mr. Aizawa and some of their classmates stared at them and some of them noticed Rena Rouge standing there. They were all shocked to see her here and no one else.
"Mr. Aizawa. I can explain things. Just give him a break. He's only trying to help figure things out for all of you," Rena Rouge explained to him, "There's something going on with the portal and your class. I came here to help you all so nothing gets out of hand."
Mr. Aizawa's eyes widened in shock and turned to Midoriya. He tightened his grip around his scarf, making Midoriya kneel down to the floor. Bakugo didn't dare move from his spot, and Rena Rouge noticed how frustrated Mr. Aizawa looked at his students. She could swear that there was fire in his eyes with how annoyed he was at them.
"What have you two been doing behind my back?" Mr. Aizawa demanded at them, "Tell me now or I'll have you both under house arrest."
"Told you," Bakugo said under his breath.
Rena Rouge shook a little from how intense Mr. Aizawa was. She wanted to explain things, but seeing Midoriya tied up made her a little nervous. Still, she couldn't let this get in the way of what she came here to do.
"M-Mr. A-Aizawa... I-I--"
"Don't blame them Mr. Aizawa," Rena Rouge told him, "This isn't anyone's fault. Something's happened to the portal, and they both wanted to bring me over to help figure things out. There's some things that have been leaked from the portal and to the machine back in Chrysalis's lair. Whether you're aware of it or not, someone has hacked into U.A.'s computer systems. That's why there's some information on that machine about your students. Whatever is going on here, I want to help."
Midoriya and Bakugo stood there, nervous as to what Mr. Aizawa was planning on doing with them. After staring at them for what felt like hours, he finally let out a sigh. Midoriya felt the scarf loosen up around him and stood up from the initial shock. Rena Rouge checked on him, but stood tall to face Mr. Aizawa. Some of Midoriya's classmates stood there, but Skylar was no where to be found.
This made things easier for Rena Rouge explain things.
"Alright. Rena Rouge, you need to explain things and fast."
Earlier in Class 2-A's dormitory...
Rena Rouge soon detransformed, but got ready to explain things. She put her backpack down as everyone gathered around her to hear her out. Even Mr. Aizawa was interested in what she had to say. She explained to everyone what was going on with Marinette, her teammates and Chrysalis's lair. She went into detail as to why Marinette wasn't here with her. Everyone seemed to let her explain things without any interruptions.
Even the information about Class 2-A got their attention. They knew about it, but didn't expect to hear about Skylar being on that machine now. Rena Rouge felt better once she explained things to them, but they were already wondering why she was even here in the first place.
"Wait so, why are you here?" Kaminari asked her, "Don't get me wrong. We don't mind the company, but things are pretty much fine here."
"Are you serious Kaminari? Did you not hear what Alya just told us?" Jirou asked back, "You were there when we found out about that machineh having all sorts of information on us. Clearly something is going on with the League of Villains."
"Are you sure Alya? You don't know about them very well, but there's no way they're involved," Iida pointed out, "We haven't seen them in a long time."
"Yeah, but weren't they involved with that akumatization?" Alya asked them, "Even Izuku thinks I'm right. Something's going on with these villains that you guys deal with here. Whatever it is that they're planning, they clearly might know about this portal. That akumatization must've stirred things up within their group. I wouldn't be surprised since they have no idea what was going on six months ago."
Mr. Aizawa and everyone else shared a look, and he gave Alya a determined look on her face.
"We're going to have to do something about this and fast," Mr. Aizawa told her, "I'll go inform the others. All of the teachers need to know about this. You stay here and look after my class for me. I don't trust Midoriya after what's been going on lately."
Midoriya couldn't look Mr. Aizawa in the eye as he left his class behind. Before he could leave, Alya stepped up as Ladybug's teammate. Everyone was surprised to see her block his path, and she didn't even budge.
"Mr. Aizawa. I know that you don't trust me right now, but I've come over to help you uncover what's going on," Alya told him, "I don't that I'm younger than you, but I'm still considered a pro hero back in my Paris. And I'd say I'm pretty good at uncovering some mysteries when I need to. Maybe I can help find out what's going on with the school's system. If we can Melissa involved as well, we could figure out who's hacking your school. Maybe even trace it back to whoever's doing this."
Everyone was shocked to hear Alya stand up for them. She didn't back down or look away from him. After a minute of just staring at each other, Mr. Aizawa let out a long sigh and rubbed his nose in annoyance.
"Fine. You can come with me," Mr. Aizawa said to her, "But you have to stick with me. U.A. can be pretty easy to get lost in. Iida, look after my class and make sure that Midoriya doesn't go anywhere. Especially with Bakugo around."
Midoriya was about to speak up, but then Mr. Aizawa activated his quirk to shut him up. Alya could tell that he had something else that he wanted to talk about, but he didn't speak up. Whatever it was, she hoped that it wasn't anything important for this situation. Once Trixx ate a snack that she gave her Kwami, she soon transformed back into Rena Rouge.
Mr. Aizawa guided her over to the school, and Rena Rouge headed out of the dormitory. She looked back at Midoriya who looked a bit worried about something. She knew that he was upset or worried about the League of Villains being involved, but something about it seemed like it had nothing to do with it. She wondered if maybe Skylar may have been involved.
She'd talk to him afterwards when she got the chance.
Another amazing chapter!
I love this chapter! I really like where things are going now with Ember. I want her to be more on the down low while other things are going on with Skylar. I feel like Ember is definitely coming together better and how things are turning out. I love how different they are, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm kind of in love with how opposite they are and with how different the situation with Ember versus Skylar. There's more going on, don't worry. I haven't given away anything. Also, Alya helping out and sleuthing around U.A. is just so satisfying to me.
Midoriya's nightmare seems to be bothering him...
What's going to happen next??
More to come soon!
