Gym Challenge Opening Ceremony

Everyone went to the Pokemon Center and gave the nurse their Pokemon to be treated. They also took the time to sell the stuff they got from the Pokemon Dens for some extra money.

"So what now, guys?" asked Lana.

"I guess once our Pokemon are healed, we go straight to Motostoke Stadium and wait for the opening ceremony to begin." said Lincoln.

"Too bad I didn't arrive here in time to sign up." said Lola.

"You can still cheer us on, little sis." said Luna. Half an hour later, after picking up their Pokemon, Lincoln and the others exited the Pokemon Center. After taking the lift to the upper level of Motostoke, the kids went straight to Motostoke Stadium. Lincoln and the others walked over to the front desk to pick up their uniforms, except for Lola. They took turns in the changing room. Minutes later, Lincoln, Clyde, Leni, Luna, Lucy, and Lana were wearing their uniforms.

"Okay, Lola. You can watch the whole thing from the stand." said Lincoln.

"Okay, Linky." said Lola as she ran to the bleachers to find a good seat.

"So, what do we do now, Lincoln?" asked Lana.

"I guess we wait until they tell us to go out onto the field." said Lincoln. Back in Royal Woods, Lisa was doing some work on their satellite dish.

"How's it going, Lisa?" Lynn Sr asked Lisa.

"Almost got the satellite locked in on the Galar Region's television feed. If this work, we can watch that Gym Challenge Opening Ceremony that Lincoln mentioned." said Lisa. A few minutes later, the image of the Motostoke Stadium's field appeared on the screen.

"It worked, Lisa. Come inside." said Rita Loud. Lisa goes into the house and sits on the couch with the rest of her family, along with Clyde's dads who were also there to watch.

"Wow! Look at the size of that stadium. And look at all those people." said Lynn Jr.

"This Gym Challenge thing must be a major event in the Galar Region." said Lynn Sr. They all watch as a man with tan skin, black hair, and a beard and mustache, and a gray, three-piece suit, who's accompanied by a woman with long blonde hair, long white jacket, a crimson top, and black skirt, leggings, and shoes walks out onto the field.

"Ladies and gentlemen! I am Rose, chairman of the Pokemon League! I know that everyone gathered here and everyone watching from home have been waiting for this big moment! It is my pleasure to announce that finally, the Galar region Gym Challenge will now begin!" said the man now known as Rose. "Yes! The Gym Challenge! Participants must defeat the eight Gym Leaders and gather the eight Gym Badges to prove their skills as Trainers! Only the most worthy will have the honor of challenging the greatest Champion in history! Now, I would like to invite the Gym Leaders to show themselves." (Authors Note: For this fanfic, we'll use the Gym Leaders that are in Pokemon Shield.) Everyone watches as seven people come walking out onto the field. One was a muscular looking man with red hair, wearing a white jersey with a green leaf on the front of it, green shorts, a bluish green neckerchief around his neck, and green, white, and black shoes; this was the grass-type Gym Leader, Milo. Another was a slender woman with dark skin, long black hair with some blue streaks in it, a two-piece crop with a white top with a water drop-like symbol on it, blue and white shorts, a pendant with a blue jewel embedded in it, and a chain with some gems on it around her waist; this was the water-type Gym Leader, Nessa.

"O-M-Gosh! I love that outfit, and that pendant and waist chain are so fashionable." said Leni who was watching from the tunnel. Another was an older-looking man who still looked like he was in his prime, wearing a red jersey with a volcano design on it, over a black, long-sleeved shirt with flame designs on it, along with red and white shorts, and knee-high, white and red boots. This was the fire-type Gym Leader, Kabu. The next one was a boy wearing a white mask with large holes for his eyes and mouth. He wore a black, long-sleeved jersey and black shorts, a purple glove with black fingertips on his left hand, and white and black shoes. This was the ghost-type Gym Leader, Allister. Lucy was watching him with great interest.

"He looks like someone I would hang out with, and I want a uniform just like his." said Lucy. Another was an elderly woman wearing a long pink and green dress, a green and black hat, white and purple shoes, and a gigantic poofy scarf. She was also carrying a pink and green striped umbrella. She is the fairy-type Gym Leader, Opal. Another was a woman with long white hair, a furry hat and neck wrap, a white jersey with an icicle-like design on it and white shorts, grayish-blue leggings, and white boots; this was the ice-type Gym Leader, Melony. And the last one to come out was a male with dark skin, black hair, wearing an orange bandana around his head, he wore a black and gold jacket with orange cuffs, dark blue shorts with some orange lines on them, and black and orange shoes; he was the dragon-type Gym Leader, Raihan. Everyone watched the Gym Leaders walk out onto the field.

"Hey. I thought there was eight Gym Leaders? I only see seven." said Lincoln.

"Not cool to not show up like that." said Luna. Back on the field, Chairman Rose was continuing his speech.

"These are the Gym Leaders we in the Galar Region are proud to call our own!" said Chairman Rose. Back in the tunnel, a staff member walked up to the Gym Challengers.

"Okay, everyone. You can go out on the field now." said a male staff member. With that, Lincoln, his sisters (except for Lola), and Clyde, along with the other Gym Challengers walk out onto the field. In the crowd, Lola and her Pokemon were cheering for her siblings and Clyde. Back in Royal Woods, the rest of the Louds and Clyde's dads were watching the opening ceremony. They spot their kids/siblings walking out onto the field.

"I see them!" said Luan.

"Our kids are on TV!" said Rita.

"Man. I'm only used to having small crowds at my sports games cheering me, but they have an entire stadium full of people cheering them. Makes me wish that I went there and became a Pokemon trainer." said Lynn Jr.

"Don't even think about it, LJ." said Rita, giving Lynn Jr a stern look. Half an hour later, Lincoln steps out of the changing room, now in his regular attire and meets the others who were also in their normal attire.

"Man. That was awesome." said Lincoln.

"I know! I'm used to being cheered by big crowds, but not that big!" said Luna.

"I wish I got here sooner so I could sign up and have all those people cheering for me." said Lola.

"Yeah. Standing out there in the pitch with everyone cheering, there's no words to describe it. My heart was racing!" said Hop. Just then, Leon and Chairman Rose walk up to them.

"Hop, and you too, Lincoln. You both made it at last." said Leon.

"So you two are the ones endorsed by Leon? Welcome, it's a delight to meet you. I'm Chairman Rose as you already know." said Chairman Rose. He then notices the Dynamax Bands all but Lola were wearing. "And I see that a lot of you are wearing Dynamax Bands as well. By the way, it's my company that makes those Dynamax Bands, you know. I daresay that this year's Gym Challenge is looking to be an absolute blast." Just then, Lola pulls out the Wishing Star she got an hour ago. Chairman Rose sees this. "Is that a Wishing Star, young lady?"

"Yeah. I just need to figure out how to get a Dynamax Band with this." said Lola.

"May I see it?" asked Chairman Rose. Lola hands him the Wishing Star and Chairman Rose pulls out a Dynamax Band and small tool kit out of his jacket and starts putting the Wishing Star into the Dynamax Band. A minute later, he hands the Dynamax Band to Lola. "There you are, young lady." Lola looks at the Dynamax Band with joy.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" says Lola as she hugs Chairman Rose.

"You're quite welcome." said Chairman Rose. "Now if you'll all excuse me, I have some urgent business to attend to. So I must be on my way. The best of luck to all of you!" With that, he turns and leaves. Lola puts on her Dynamax Band.

"The chairman seems to be in high spirits." said Leon. He then turns to the others. "Now listen, all of you. If you want to win, you'll need to do more than train your Pokemon. You need to train yourselves too." Hop turns to the Louds and Clyde.

"You know the Gym Challenge has a set order that you gotta visit the gyms in, right? The first is in Turffield. And to get there, we need to go to Route 3." Hop then runs out the stadium doors.

"So what now?" asked Luna.

"Before we start the Gym Challenge, we need to get our Pokemon from the Pokemon Center. After that, I'm gonna train up my Pokemon a bit and maybe catch a few more for my team." said Lincoln.

"Good idea." said Lana.

"I want to go into those Pokemon Dens and get some valuables for myself." said Lola.

"Okay, let's go." said Clyde. As they left the stadium, a female staff member walks up to them.

"Excuse me. Chairman Rose asked me to give you all of you these." said the staff member as she hands them some cards. "Those cards will give you access to the Flying Taxis we have. They'll allow you to revisit any place you've recently been to."

"Why just places we've only been to? Why not just anywhere?" asked Lana.

"Sometimes it would be better to get somewhere new on your own two feet. This way you won't miss out on something amazing." said the staff member.

"Oh. Thank you." said Lincoln. The staff member soon walks away.

"Should we go to the Pokemon Center now?' asked Leni.

"Sure. Let's go." said Lincoln. They all leave the stadium and go to the Pokemon Center. The nurse gives them their Pokemon back.

"Here are your Pokemon, back to full health." said the nurse.

"Thank you." everyone said. The nurse suddenly remembers something.

"Hey. If any of you are interested, I heard there's a rare Pokemon at the train station in Wedgehurst." said the nurse.

"Really?" asked Lincoln.

"Yes. I've heard about it from someone who was just here." said the nurse. Lincoln turns to the others.

"What do you think? Should we check it out?" asked Lincoln.

"Sounds like it could be interesting." said Clyde.

"It could be a cute Pokemon." said Lola.

"Or a spooky one." said Lucy.

"And since we'll be in Wedgehurst, maybe we can stop by Professor Magnolia's place and see if she has any more PokeTranslators made." said Lincoln.

"Yeah! I really want to be able to understand what my Pokemon are saying." said Lana.

"Me, too." said Lola.

"We all would, bro." said Luna.

"And I want to thank that Professor Magnolia lady for looking after you." said Leni.

"Okay. Off to Wedgehurst." said Lincoln.

"Yeah!" everyone else cheered.
