Preparing for the Third Trial and Loud Training.
At the area of the Isle of Armor known as the Training Lowlands, Clyde was preparing for his battle against Klara for the final trial. Clyde was training his Pokemon by having them battle against wild Pokemon. Clyde took it easy with Bulbasaur because he was still young, but he learned Growth, Leech Seed, and Razor Leaf. As he continued to train, Clyde hears something coming from above. He looks to see a blue, beetle-like Pokemon flying down and landing on the ground.
"What's that?" asked Clyde. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Heracross, the Singlehorn Pokemon. This Pokemon takes pride in its strength, which allows it to lift things 100 times heavier than itself with no trouble at all." said the Rotom Phone.
"Wow. You sound like a strong Pokemon, Heracross." said Clyde. He turns towards his Wooper. "Come on, Wooper, let's catch this Pokemon."
'You got it, pal.' said Wooper. He and Clyde faced the Heracross, which took a battle stance.
"Wooper, Rain Dance!" said Clyde. Wooper wiggled his body and gray clouds appeared in the sky and it begins raining, which powered up Wooper's water attacks. Heracross flies towards Wooper while being surrounded by streaks of white light and it rams into Wooper, knocking him back. "You okay, Wooper?" Wooper nods. "Wooper, use Water Gun!" Wooper unleashes a spiral of water out of his mouth and it hits Heracross. It flies at Wooper and jabs him several times with its horn, knocking Wooper back. "Don't give up, Wooper. Use Slam!" Wooper leaps at Heracross and hits it in the chest with his tail, knocking it to the ground. Heracross glares at Wooper and its eyes glow red, making Wooper slump. "I think that may have been a Leer attack. Wow, this Heracross is tough, so now I definitely want it. Wooper, Water Gun one more time!" Wooper unleashes another Water Gun at Heracross, who covers its chest with its arms and Water Gun hits it. Heracross drops to one knee and is breathing heavily. Clyde takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Heracross, hitting it, and sucking it in. After the pokeball wiggles around for a couple of seconds, it stops and clicks, indicating Heracross' capture. Clyde picks up the pokeball. "Oh yeah! Heracross is mine!" Heracross' pokeball vanishes and is transferred to storage due to Clyde already having six Pokemon with him. He looks at Wooper. "You were great, Wooper."
'You bet I wa...' said Wooper before he froze and began to glow.
"Whoa. Wooper, you're evolving!" said Clyde. Wooper began to grow, and when the glowing stopped, Wooper was now bigger, he has arms, but no longer had those branches on the sides of his head, but it didn't matter to Clyde. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at his newly evolved Wooper.
"Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokemon, and the evolved form of Wooper. Its body is always slimy. It often bangs its head on the river bottom as it swims but seems not to care." said the Rotom Phone.
"Congratulations, Quagsire." said Clyde.
'Thanks, Clyde.' replied Quagsire. Clyde uses his Rotom Phone to learn more about his new Heracross. "Okay, my Heracross is a boy, he knows Tackle, Leer, Fury Attack, Endure, and Aerial Ace. And he has the Guts ability, which powers up his attack strength when he's afflicted with certain status conditions. Cool!" As Clyde continued to train his Pokemon, Lola was at Challenge Beach, you guessed it, digging for more pearls.
"Clyde can train for his final trial and the others can keep looking for those Digletts, but all I care about is finding more pearls." said Lola. She continued digging until she saw a red jewel sticking out of the ground. "Oooh. A red gem." She grabs it when it suddenly rises out of the ground. Lola saw that the gem was part of a star shaped Pokemon. "What is this?" She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Staryu, the Starshape Pokemon. Fish Pokemon nibble at it, but Staryu isn't bothered. Its body regenerates quickly, even if part of it is completely torn off." said the Rotom Phone.
"Hey. You're a star like me." said Lola. She pulls a Heal Ball out of her backpack. "That settles it, I'm going to capture you. Let's go, Cherubi." She throws Cherubi's Heal Ball and releases her. "Cherubi, use Growth!" Cherubi begins to glow green, raising her attack power. The Staryu spins and flies at Cherbui, ramming her, knocking her back. "Oh yeah?! Cherubi, Leafage!" Cherubi unleashes glowing green leaves from her body and they hit Cherubi, causing super effective damage. Staryu unleashes a golden aura ball and launches it at Cherubi. "Cherubi, dodge it!" Cherubi leaps out of the path of the attack quickly. Due to the sun being intense at Challenge Beach. Cherubi's speed increases thanks to her Chlorophyll ability. "Use Leafage again!" Cherubi unleashes more glowing leaves from her body and they hit Staryu, causing super effective damage, and knocking it to the ground. As it struggles to get up, Lola takes an empty Heal Ball out of her backpack, enlarges it and throws it at Staryu, hitting it and sucking it in. After it wiggled around several times, it stops and clicks, indicating its capture. Lola picks up Staryu's Heal Ball. "Yes! Staryu's mine!" Staryu's Heal Ball glows and vanishes. "Oh, that's right. I can only have six Pokemon with me." She looks at her Rotom Phone to look up her new Staryu's information. "Okay. This says that Staryu is neither a boy or girl, which is weird; it knows Tackle, Harden, Water Gun, Confuse Ray, and Rapid Spin; and it has the Illuminate ability which makes it easier for wild Pokemon to find us. Kind of how my beauty draws people to me."
With Luna, she was training up her Pokemon in the Training Lowlands. Her Zigzagoon learned Baby-Doll Eyes and Pin Missile, her Toxel just got a bit stronger, her Roggenrola learned Iron Defense, and her Whismur got a bit stronger also. Not only that, while Luna was training her Whismur and Zigzagoon, they froze up, and started to glow.
"You're evolving!" said Luna as she watches her Whismur and Zigzagoon start to change. When they were done, Whismur was bigger, his mouth was bigger, his arms and legs were longer, and his ears were more rounded and stuck straight up. Luna takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at her newly evolved Whismur.
"Loudred, the Big Voice Pokemon, and the evolved form of Whismur. Loudred's ears serve as speakers, and they can put out sound waves powerful enough to blow away a house." said the Rotom Phone.
"Rad! Speakers for ears?! That's so wicked!" said Luna. She then looks at her Zigzagoon, whose body was longer, her snout was longer and sharper, and her fur was smoothed out. She points her Rotom Phone.
"Linoone, the Rushing Pokemon, and the evolved form of Zigzagoon. It uses its long tongue to taunt opponents. Once the opposition is enraged, this Pokemon hurls itself at the opponent, tackling them forcefully." said the Rotom Phone.
"That's totally awesome, dude!" said Luna. She continues to explore the Training Lowlands, also finding several Alolan Digletts as she does.
Leni is at Challenge Beach, having just found another Alola Diglett.
"Found another one." said Leni. She also took the time to train her Pokemon. As she did, she hears something approaching her. She turns to see an orange, rodent-like Pokemon with black whiskers walking over to her. "Like, what's that?" She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Dedenne, the Antenna Pokemon. Since Dedenne can't generate much electricity on its own, it steals electricity from outlets and other electric Pokemon." said the Rotom Phone.
"You're totes adorbs!" said Leni. She turns towards Bounsweet. "Want to help me catch this Pokemon, Bounsweet?"
'You bet, Leni.' said Bounsweet. She and Leni turn towards Dedenne.
"Bounsweet, like, use Razor Leaf!" said Leni. Bounsweet spins and releases green leaves and they hit Dedenne, knocking it back. The Dedenne runs at Bounsweet and rams her. "Okay, Bounsweet, use Rapid Spin!" Bounsweet spins towards Dedenne and rams it, knocking it to the ground. Dedenne gets up and runs at Bounsweet and rubs its cheek against her, but not doing much damage. "Like, use Leafage!" Bounsweet unleashes glowing green leaves from her body and they hit Dedenne, knocking it to the ground. Leni pulls an empty pokeball out of her backpack, enlarges it, and throws it at Dedenne, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and after it wiggled around for a couple seconds, it clicks and stops, indicating its capture. Leni picks up Dedenne's pokeball. "Yay! Dedenne is like mine!" Bounsweet hops around happily when she stops and freezes. "Bounsweet, are you, like, okay?" Bounsweet begins to glow. "Bounsweet, you're like, evolving." Bounsweet begins to grow. When she stopped glowing, she now had a humanoid appearance. She had two long leaves and two short leaves sticking out of the top of her now white head, her torso and new legs were dark purple, her new arms were white and slender, and she had what looked like a white white on the upper part of her torso. "O-M-Gosh, you're so pretty!" Leni takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at her newly evolved Bounsweet.
"Steenee, the Fruit Pokemon and the evolved form of Bounsweet. Any Corvisquire that pecks at this Pokemon will be greeted with a smack from its sepals followed by a sharp kick." said the Rotom Phone.
"Wow! You look totes amazing, Bounsweet, oh, I mean, Steenee." said Leni.
'Thank you, Leni.' replied Steenee. Leni then uses her Rotom Phone to learn more about her new Dedenne. "Okay, my Dedenne is a girl, she knows Nuzzle, Tail Whip, Tackle, Charge, and Thunder Shock. And she has the Pickup ability like Lana's Diggersby, so there's a chance Dedenne will find something, which means, I can get free stuff. Yay." Her Fomantis learned Sweet Scent and her Vulpix learned Confuse Ray. Her Kirlia was also getting stronger. "I wonder how the others are doing?" With Lana, she was exploring the Soothing Wetlands while training her Pokemon. Her Diggersby got a bit stronger, her Tympole learned Flail, her Drilbur learned Crush Claw, her Croagunk learned Sucker Punch, her Salandit learned Sweet Scent, and her Lillipup learned Baby-Doll Eyes. Also, as she trained her Tympole and Lillipup; they froze up and started to glow.
"Cool! You're both evolving!" said Lana. She watched as they started to change. When they stopped, she saw that Tympole was bigger, his body was longer, he had feet, and he had three black and blue domes on the sides and front of his head. Lana pulls out her Rotom Phone and points it at the newly evolved Tympole.
"Palpitoad, the Vibration Pokemon. It weakens its prey with sound waves intense enough to cause headaches, then entangles them with its long sticky tongue." said the Rotom Phone.
"Cool!" said Lana. "My Rotom Phone says Palpitoad is part ground type now." She then looks at Lillipup who was now bigger, has blackish blue fur covering the top half of his body, and has long whiskers and eyebrows. Lana points her Rotom Phone at the newly evolved Lillipup.
"Herdier, the Loyal Dog Pokemon, and the evolved Lillipup. Herdier is a very smart and friendly Pokemon. So much so that there's a theory that Herdier was the first Pokemon to partner with people." said the Rotom Phone.
"That is so awesome! And my Rotom Phone says that you don't have the Vital Spirit ability anymore, but you do have the Intimidate ability which weakens an opposing Pokemon." said Lana as she runs up and hugs her new Palpitoad and Herdier. Herdier licks Lana's face in response, making her laugh. After that, she goes on to explore the Isle of Armor.
Lucy is currently in Courageous Cavern training her Pokemon, as well as finding more Alolan Digletts. Her Duskull learned Night Shade, and Payback, her Gastly learned Curse, her Gothita learned Charm and Psyshock, her Phantump learned Will-O-Wisp, and Hex, her Noibat learned Wing Attack, and Bite, and her Woobat learned Imprison. She went lower into the cavern. As she looked around, she saw a Pokemon Den with a pillar of red light coming out of it.
"Hmm. I wonder what Pokemon's in there." said Lucy. She walks over to the den and jumps into it. When she regained her senses once inside, she looks around to see a giant, pink, jellyfish-like Pokemon. She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Frillish, the Floating Pokemon. Its thin, veillike arms have tens of thousands of poisonous stingers. Females have slightly longer stingers." said the Rotom Phone.
"It says here you're part ghost type, which makes it all the reason I need to catch you." said Lucy. She pulls a pokeball out of her pocket. "Phantump, come." She throws Phantump's pokeball and releases her. She then returns Phantump to her pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to make it bigger. She then throws it and releases Phantump, but this time, as a giant. "Phantump, use Max Phantasm." Phantump summons furniture made of dark energy and she launches them at Frillish, hitting her and causing super effective damage and weakening its defense. Frillish does the same thing to Phantump, causing super effective damage and weakening her defense as well. "Phantump, Max Overgrow." Phantump unleashes a barrage of large seeds and they land on the ground. Huge mushrooms grow out of the ground around Frillish and they explode, unleashing a green energy explosion which causes super effective damage to Frillish, causing super effective damage to it. Frillish's energy explodes and it freezes. Lucy takes out an empty pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it, she then throws it towards Frillish. As it got close to Frillish, the pokeball opens up and sucks Frillish in. It crashes to the ground and wiggles around a few times until it returned to its normal size and clicks, indicating Frillish's capture. Lucy picks up Frillish's pokeball. "Frillish is mine." Frillish's pokeball vanishes due to Lucy already having six Pokemon with her. "Dang it." Once she exits the den, she sees several berries and two Balm Mushrooms. "At least I can sell these mushrooms for money." She then uses her Rotom Phone to learn more about her new Frillish. "Okay. It says Frillish is a girl, she knows Absorb, Water Gun, Poison Sting, Night Shade, Water Pulse, and Rain Dance. It says she has the Cursed Body ability, which makes it that a move that hits her has a chance of being disabled. Cursed? Wicked." She then continues to explore the cave for more Alolan Digletts, as well as train her Pokemon.
With Lincoln, he was exploring Challenge Road. As he walks up it, he sees a shiny gray rock near another rock. Lincoln runs over and picks it up.
"Oh man. I know what this is. This is a Hard Stone." said Lincoln. "If I give this to Rockruff to hold onto, his rock type moves will be even stronger." Before he can grab Rockruff's pokeball, he hears a loud squawk. He looks to see a metallic bird flying toward him. "Whoa! What is that?" He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Skarmory, the Armor Bird Pokemon. People fashion swords from Skarmory's shed feathers, so this Pokemon is a popular element in heraldic designs." said the Rotom Phone. Lincoln quickly dives to the side when the Skarmory flies at him. Lincoln quickly takes out his Boltund's pokeball and throws it, releasing him.
"Okay, Boltund! Use Spark!" said Lincoln.
"You got it, Lincoln!" said Boltund. His body becomes coated in electricity and he rams into Skarmory, doing super effective damage. Electricity suddenly surges around Skarmory's body.
"Looks like Skarmory is paralyzed. That should slow it down a bit." said Lincoln. The Skarmory glares at Boltund with its talons glowing white and it slashes him across his body. A surge of red energy comes out of Skarmory all of a sudden.
"That must've been Metal Claw! Looks like it gave Skarmory an attack boost." said Lincoln. "At least steel type moves don't work so well against you Boltund due to you being an electric type."
"You got that right, pal!" said Boltund. Lincoln looks and sees Skarmory preparing to attack again.
"Hurry, Boltund! Use Bite!" said Lincoln. Boltund jumps at the Skarmory and bites down on it. The Skarmory suddenly flinches. Lincoln quickly takes out his Rotom Phone to check something. "Oh yeah. This says you now have the Strong Jaw ability which increases the power of your biting moves." Lincoln then shudders at the thought of Lola having that ability. He then looks and sees Skarmory looked exhausted, so he takes an empty pokeball from his pocket, enlarges it, and throws it at the Skarmory. The pokeball hits Skarmory and sucks it inside, then it wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture. "Yes! We caught Skarmory!" Boltund barks, jumps onto Lincoln, and starts licking him, making him laugh. A few seconds later, Skarmory's pokeball vanishes. Lincoln looks at his new Skarmory's information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says that Skarmory is a boy, he knows Peck, Leer, Sand Attack, Fury Attack, and Metal Claw. He has the Keen Eye ability which prevents his accuracy from being lowered." said Lincoln. He returns Boltund to his pokeball and continues to explore the Challenge Road, finding more Digletts as he does. As he nears a cave tunnel entrance, he sees something shiny near it. He looks over and sees a shiny metal canister. "I wonder what this is?" Shrugging, he puts it in his backpack in case it was something useful. Lincoln then looks at his Rotom Phone's clock and sees it was almost time for lunch. He walks back to the Field of Honor and sees that everyone was already there, preparing to make lunch.
"Hey, bro." said Luna.
"Hey, everyone." said Lincoln.
"So how are you doing on your training?" asked Lana. Everyone talks about all the progress their Pokemon have made.
"It's so cool that two of your Pokemon evolved at the same time." Lincoln says to Luna and Lana.
"I know, right?" replied Luna.
"I like that I found a whole lot of pearl stuff." said Lola.
"I found some Alolan Digletts while I was exploring the Challenge Road." said Lincoln.
"I found some Alolan Digletts too." said Lana.
"I wonder how many we found so far." wondered Lucy.
"After lunch, we'll check with that guy near the bridge." said Lincoln.
"Good idea, Linky." said Leni. With that, everyone started making lunch.
