Bonding with Kubu and More Training
The next morning, everyone gets up and makes breakfast for themselves and their Pokemon. As they ate, they went over what they wanted to do today.
"What are your plans, you guys?" asked Lincoln. Clyde looks over at his Kubfu.
"I plan on training and bonding with my Kubfu today." said Clyde. "Because of how hard the rest of my Pokemon trained yesterday, combined with the intense battle with Klara, I feel they earned a day off."
"That's a good idea, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"They totes earned it." said Leni. "Maybe I'll train my Pokemon also."
"Me, too." said Lana.
"I guess I can train my Pokemon while I look for some more pearl stuff." said Lola.
"Maybe I'll train my Pokemon for a while also." said Luna.
"I'll do the same." said Lucy.
"So will I." said Lincoln. After they all ate and washed their dishes, they went on with their plans. With Clyde, he stayed in the Fields of Honor with Kubfu and let him walk alongside him as they trained. During the training, along with getting much stronger, Kubfu learned Aerial Ace, and Scary Face. Clyde also decided to show Kubfu some sights on the Isle of Armor as a way to bond with one another. While exploring around the Master Dojo, Clyde sees a black belt by a crate. He picks it up and examines it, then looks at Kubfu.
"This could look awesome on you." said Clyde. He ties the belt around Kubfu's waist. "There. Now you look more like a martial artist." Kubfu smiles as he grabs the belt.
"Hello, Clyde." said Master Mustard from behind them.
"Hi, Master Mustard." said Clyde. Master Mustard looks at Kubfu and smiles.
"I can tell that Kubfu has gotten a lot stronger." said Master Mustard. "Quite impressive since it hasn't been a full day since you received him."
"Thanks, Master Mustard." said Clyde. Master Mustard noticed the belt around his waist.
"Hmmm. I was wondering where that Expert Belt went to." said Master Mustard.
"Expert Belt?" replied Clyde.
"It's an item that can be equipped to a Pokemon. If the Pokemon wearing it hits an opposing Pokemon with a move that would be super effective against it, that belt will increase the power of that move." explained Master Mustard.
"Were you looking for it?" asked Clyde. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were doing so." He reaches to take the Expert Belt off of Kubfu when Master Mustard puts his hand on his shoulder.
"You can keep it." said Master Mustard.
"Really?" Clyde replied.
"Yes. It would benefit Kubfu greatly more than it would me." said Master Mustard.
"If you're okay with it, then I am, too." said Clyde. Master Mustard smiles and walks towards the gardens. Clyde then decides to go to an area with stronger Pokemon for Kubfu to battle.
Meanwhile at the Potbottom Desert, Lola was training her Pokemon.
"All right, Minccino, use Swift!" said Lola. Minccino releases stars onto a Fletchling, knocking it out. "Cherubi, Magical Leaf!" Cherubi spins and unleashes leaves onto a light brown, crocodile-like Pokemon, dealing super effective damage to it, knocking it out. "Cutiefly, Draining Kiss!" Cutiefly flies at another of the crodilian Pokemon and kisses it, dealing super effective damage to it. "Happiny, use Covet." Happiny runs over to an orange, turtle-like Pokemon with a black shell and swings her arm at it, hitting it. "Vulpix, Ice Shard!" Her Alolan Vulpix unleashes shards of ice onto another of the crocodilian Pokemon, hitting it and dealing super effective damage. "Brionne, Aqua Jet!" Brionne becomes surrounded by water and flies into another of the turtle-like Pokemon, dealing super effective damage to it. "Oh yeah! I'm on fire, baby!" All of her Pokemon cheered. Cherubi and Cutiefly suddenly froze. "Cherubi? Cutiefly?hat's wrong? Am I pushing you too hard? You should have told me." Cherubi and Cutiefly both began to glow. "Oh, you're both evolving. Evolving?!" Lola and the other Pokemon watched as Cherubi and Cutiefly began to change. When the glowing stopped, Cherubi now had a dark pink body that was wrapped in large purple petals that had a purple stem and a green leafy sprout on it. Cutiefly now had a large head with a smaller body, skinny black arms and legs, she was covered in fluffy yellow hair with a white face, a brown scarf around her neck, her brown proboscis was replaced with a small mouth, two black antennae, and her wings were bigger. The sun began to shine on the evolved Cherubi. She began to shine brightly and her form changes. She was now yellow, her head was surrounded by pink petals, one was covering her chest, she had two red orbs on her head. "You're...both...ADORABLE!" She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the newly evolved Cherubi.
"Cherrim, the Blossom Pokemon, and the evolved form of Cherubi. The faint scent that emanates from its full blossom entices bug Pokémon to it." said the Rotom Phone. Lola then points the Rotom Phone at the newly evolved Cutiefly.
"Ribombee, the Bee Fly Pokemon, and the evolved form of Cutiefly. Ribombee absolutely hate getting wet or rained on. In the cloudy Galar region, they are very seldom seen." said the Rotom Phone. Lola uses her Rotom Phone to learn about her newly evolved Pokemon.
"Okay, Cherrim, it says you just learned Sunny Day, and you now have the Flower Gift ability, which strengthens your ally's strength during very sunny day. Ribombee, you now know Pollen Puff." As she puts her Rotom Phone away, she sees something sticking out of the sand. "What's this?" She pulls it out, revealing it to be a shining stone. "I wonder if I could get some cash off this. It's a little dirty though." She looks over at Minccino "Here, Minccino, clean this off for me." She gives Minccino the stone. The second she grabs it, she began glowing. "Minccino, now you're evolving?!" When the glowing stopped, Minccino was now covered in tufts of white fur, one of them wrapped around her neck like a scarf, and her tail was now fluffy and white. "You're gorgeous!" She pulls her Rotom Phone back out and points it at the newly evolved Minccino.
"Cinccino, the Scarf Pokemon, and the evolved form of Minccino. A special oil that seeps through their fur helps them avoid attacks. The oil fetches a high price at market." said the Rotom Phone.
"Wow. Three evolutions in one day, and my Pokemon are cuter than before." said Lola, smiling at her newly evolved Pokemon.
Lincoln was training his Pokemon in the Training Lowlands. His Raboot learned Headbutt, his Corvisquire learned Scary Face, his Gyarados learned Rain Dance, his Lucario learned Metal Sound, his Lycanroc learned Roar, and his Alolan Sandshrew learned Rapid Spin, Metal Claw, Swift, Fury Swipes, and Iron Defense.
At Brawlers' Cave, Lucy was busy training her Pokemon. Her Duskull learned Payback, Will-O-Wisp, and Mean Look. Her Gastly learned Curse, and Hex, her Phantump learned Hex, Growth, and Horn Leech, her Noibat learned Bite, and Air Cutter, her Woobat learned Imprison, and Assurance, and her Dartrix learned Synthesis, and Pluck. As they trained, Gastly began to glow.
"Gastly. You're evolving." said Lucy. When the glowing stopped, Gastly was now purple with three spikes coming out of each side of her head, and a pair of disembodied hands. "Wicked." She pulls out her Rotom Phone and points it at the newly evolved Gastly.
"Haunter, the Gas Pokemon, and the evolved form of Gastly. If you get the feeling of being watched in darkness when nobody is around, Haunter is there." said the Rotom Phone.
"According to this, Haunter, you now know Shadow Punch." said Lucy. "Believe me, I'm happy for you." Haunter looks closely at Lucy's face.
"I'll take your word for it." said Haunter.
With Lana, she was in the Forest of Focus, training her Pokemon. Her Diggersby learned Dig, her Palpitoad learned Uproar, her Drilbur learned Rock Slide, her Croagunk learned Swagger, her Salandit learned Incinerate, and her Herdier learned Crunch.
Luna was at Challenge Road, training her Pokemon. During her training, Roggenrola began to evolve.
"Whoa, little dudette, you're evolving!" said Luna. Roggenrola began to grow. When the glowing stopped, Roggenrola had red crystals coming out of the front and back of her, she had two yellow hexagon-shaped eyes instead of one, and two rocks that make up pincer-like limbs. "Whoa. Rockin." She pulls out her Rotom Phone and points it at her newly evolved Roggenrola.
"Boldore, the Ore Pokemon, and the evolved form of Roggenrola. It relies on sound in order to monitor what's in its vicinity. When angered, it will attack without ever changing the direction it's facing." said the Rotom Phone.
"Whoa. According to this, by evolving, you just learned Power Gem." said Luna. "Rockin', literally." Her Linoone learned Rest, her Loudred learned Bite and Stomp, and her Pincurchin learned Spark and Bubblebeam. Her Porygon also got stronger.
Meanwhile, Clyde was hanging out with Kubfu, showing it some sights around the Isle of Armor, such as the underground river in the Brawlers' Cave, the ocean at Loop Lagoon, the tall tower at Challenge Road, and the vast Potbottom Desert. Each sight they viewed together made them closer and closer. Soon, everyone met at the Master Dojo for lunch. As they all ate, Clyde was playing around with Kubfu.
"Wow, Clyde." said Lincoln. "It's amazing how close you and Kubfu have already gotten."
"Yeah. It's like you two have been friends as long as you and Lincoln have." said Luna.
"Totes." said Leni.
"Thanks, guys." said Clyde. "I really want to be friends with Kubfu." Kubfu smiles at Clyde and nods.
"I wonder how close you and Kubfu have gotten." wondered Lana.
"Maybe after lunch I can show Master Mustard and see what he thinks." said Clyde.
"Good idea." said Lincoln. After they finished eating, and cleaned their dishes; they all enter the Master Dojo. They look around and find Master Mustard in the living room. He stands up when he sees the Louds and Clyde.
"Hello, kids." said Master Mustard.
"Hello, Master Mustard." said Clyde. Master Mustard sees Kubfu and gets a close look at him.
"I'm impressed, Clyde." said Master Mustard. "You two already seem like the best of friends."
"Thanks, Master Mustard." said Clyde. LIncoln steps forward.
"Pardon me, Master Mustard." said Lincoln.
"Yes, Lincoln?" replied Master Mustard.
"I've heard about Gigantamaxing from Clyde." said Lincoln. "He said that some Pokemon are capable of doing it and that Max Soup is a way to awaken that ability."
"Yes, that is true." said Master Mustard.
"Do you know exactly which Pokemon are capable of doing it?" asked Lincoln. Master Mustard goes to Hyde's desk and pulls a sheet of paper out of one of the drawers. He then walks over to Lincoln and hands it to him.
"That is a list of Pokemon capable of Gigantamaxing." said Master Mustard. Everyone looks through it.
"Can we copy this list?" asked Lincoln.
"You can keep that one. I have several other copies." said Master Mustard.
"Thank you, sir." said Lincoln. Master Mustard smiles, then looks back at Clyde.
"Clyde. Now that you and Kubfu have become close, I think it's time to show you something." said Master Mustard.
"What?" asked Clyde.
"If you would all follow me, I will show you." said Master Mustard. The Louds and Clyde look at each other, then follow Master Mustard out of the dojo.
