Galar Mine and Bede
When everyone walks into the mine, they stared in awe at all the crystals that were coming out of the walls.
"Those crystals are so beautiful." said Leni.
"They look like jewels." said Lola.
"Sure are bright." said Luna. As they look around, Ronnie Anne sees a gray, bipedal Pokemon with a protrusion coming out of its head, along with pink rings going around its shoulders; pink, vein-like bulges on its head, and it was carrying a large wooden beam on its shoulder. Out of curiosity, Ronnie Anne pulls out her Rotom Phone, and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Timburr, the Muscular Pokemon. Timburr that have started carrying logs that are about three times their size are nearly ready to evolve." said the Rotom Phone.
"This Pokemon sounds strong." said Ronnie Anne. She then pulls a pokeball out of her hoodie's pocket.
"Are you going to try and capture it?" asked Lincoln.
"Sure. I could use a larger variety of Pokemon to choose from for future battles." said Ronnie Anne. She throws her pokeball, releasing her Klefki.
"Good choice, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln. "Fairy types have an advantage against fighting type Pokemon." Ronnie Anne nods at Lincoln, then focuses her attention back on the Timburr.
"Okay, Klefki. Let's try out your Metal Sound!" said Ronnie Anne. Klefki starts jangling her keys together, making a sound that makes the Timburr cringe, lowering its special defense. The Timburr jumps at Klefi and strikes her with its wooden beam, but not doing a whole lot of damage. "Klefki, use your Fairy Wind!" Klefki releases a pink gust of wind, which hits the Timburr, doing super effective damage and more, thanks to its special defense being weakened earlier. The Timburr grabs a rock and throws it at Klefi, once again, not doing a whole lot of damage.
"That was Rock Throw." said Lincoln. "Good thing that Klefki is part steel type, so she's resistant to rock type moves."
"Yeah." said Ronnie Anne. "Klefki, use Tackle!" Klefki floats quickly towards the Timburr and slams into it, knocking it onto its back. Ronnie Anne quickly takes an empty pokeball out of her backpack and throws it at the Timburr, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"Good work, Ronnie Anne." said Clyde. Ronnie Anne runs over to her new Timburr's pokeball, and picks it up.
"I caught a Timburr!" said Ronnie Anne. She then uses her Rotom Phone to look at her new Timburr's information. "This says my new Timburr's a girl, she knows Pound, Leer, Low Kick, Rock Throw, and Focus Energy. She has the Guts ability which makes her stronger if she has a status condition." Her Timburr's pokeball suddenly vanishes and is sent to storage.
"Shall we keep going?" asked Lucy.
"Sure." said Ronnie Anne. She returns her Klefki to her pokeball, and they all continue on their way. As they walk through the mine, a man wearing a mining uniform walks over to them.
"Pardon me." said the man. "Would any of you be interested in a Pokemon battle?" Seeing an opportunity to get some experience battling against other trainers, Ronnie Anne steps forward.
"Sure. I can use a warm-up before I get to Turffield." said Ronnie Anne. The others step away to give Ronnie Anne and the man some space. The man pulls a pokeball out of his pocket and throws it, releasing a Roggenrola.
"Dude. He's got a Roggenrola." said Luna. Ronnie Anne takes a pokeball out of her hoodie and throws it, releasing her Foongus.
"Okay, Foongus. Use Growth!" said Ronnie Anne. Foongus starts gathering energy around her and uses it to increase her attack powers.
"Roggenrola, use Mud Slap!" said the man. His Roggenrola flings some mud into Foongus's eyes, damaging her, and lowering her accuracy.
"Foongus, try using Mega Drain!" said Ronnie Anne. Foongus releases a green stream of energy from her cap, and she manages to hit the Roggnerola, doing super effective damage, and healing herself of the damage she took from the Mud Slap she took a few seconds ago.
"Roggenrola, use Tackle!" said the man. The Roggenrola charges at Foongus and slams into her.
"Foongus, use Astonish!" said Ronnie Anne. Foongus bends down so her cap covers her face, then quickly pops up, showing her making a face that startles the Roggenrola, making it fall over, doing enough damage to knock it out.
"You did it, Ronnie Anne!" said Leni. The man returns his Roggenrola to its pokeball.
"Well, you beat me, kid." said the man. He then gives Ronnie Anne some pokedollars, and walks away.
"Good work, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Linc." said Ronnie Anne. They continue on their way through the mine. They soon see the exit out of the mine.
"We're almost there, everyone." said Lincoln. That's when he notices someone standing in front of the exit. He recognized him as the boy they first saw at Motostoke Stadium when they went to sign up for the Gym Challenge.
"Oh, great." said Leni with a sour attitude. "It's that rude boy from a few days ago."
"Who's this?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"We don't know his name, but he bumped past Hop a while back and didn't apologize for it." said Lincoln.
"What is doing here?" asked Lana.
"If he's a Gym Challenger, he must be heading for Turffield also." said Lincoln.
"Yeah. Let's just ignore him for now and keep going." said Clyde. As Lana got close to where the boy was standing, he suddenly steps in front of her.
"Hey! What's the big idea?!" Lana asked.
"I'd advise against getting too close to me, little girl." said the boy.
"Why?" asked Lana.
"Any trainer with a Wishing Star is in for a beating from me and my Pokemon." said the boy. Lincoln and the others walk up to him.
"Are you threatening my little sister?!" asked Lincoln. The boy stares at Lincoln.
"I recognize you." said the boy. "You're one of the Gym Challengers that was endorsed by the current Champion, aren't you?"
"Yeah? So?" Lincoln replied.
"What a joke." said the boy, making Lincoln growl. "You are aware that the chairman is more important than the Champion, right?"
"That doesn't matter to me." said Lincoln.
"Well, I'm endorsed by Chairman Rose, which makes me more important than you." said the boy. Lincoln then looks at Ronnie Anne and Lola.
"Well, my friend and sister there were endorsed by Chairman Rose a few hours ago." said Lincoln, surprising the boy.
"What?!" replied the boy. "Why would the chairman endorse the likes of them?"
"Well, I heard he wanted this Gym Challenge to be the biggest one yet, so he probably did it to help do so." said Lincoln.
"I suppose that makes sense." said the boy. "Why else would Chairman Rose endorse the likes of them?"
"I'd watch what you say." said Lincoln.
"Perhaps a demonstration of my skills will you show you all how outclassed you all really are." said the boy. "So, which of you will be the first to suffer defeat at my hands?"
"I'll do it." said Lucy who appears behind the boy, startling him.
"What the..." replied the boy. "How did you get behind me without me noticing?!"
"She does that a lot." said Lincoln. Lucy pulls out a crystal ball and looks into it.
"The spirits say that you are destined to lose this battle, and the spirits never lie." said Lucy.
"You're creepy." said the boy.
"Thanks." said Lucy. Soon Lucy and the boy were standing several feet from each other. "So how many Pokemon are we using?"
"We'll use three Pokemon each." said the boy. He and Lucy each pull out a pokeball. "Go, Solosis!" He throws the pokeball and releases a round, green Pokemon surrounded by a darker green ball of gel. Lucy pulls out her Rotom Phone and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Solosis, the Cell Pokemon. Many say that the special liquid covering this Pokémon's body would allow it to survive in the vacuum of space." said the Rotom Phone. Lucy puts her Rotom Phone away.
"Haunter, go." said Lucy, throwing Haunter's pokeball and releasing her.
"Solosis, Psybeam!" said the boy. Solosis unleashes a beam of multicolored energy from its body, and it hits Haunter, dealing super effective damage.
"Lucy, Haunter is part poison, they're weak against psychic attacks." said Lincoln.
"Haunter, Payback." said Lucy. Haunter releases streams of black energy from her hands and they hit Solosis, dealing a massive amount of damage not only for dark type moves being strong against psychic type Pokemon like Solosis, but Payback's power is doubled if the Pokemon that uses it recieved damage from an attack before using it. Solosis drops to the ground with swirly eyes.
"What?!" exclaimed the boy.
"It would appear Haunter has won." said Lucy.
"Way to go, Lucy!" cheered Lincoln.
"Show this guy who's boss!" said Lola. The boy returned Solosis to its pokeball and puts it in his pocket while pulling another pokeball out of another pocket.
"Gothita, go!" said the boy, throwing the pokeball and releasing a Gothita.
"You have a Gothita too?" asked Lucy.
"Yes, I do." replied the boy. "Gothita, Psybeam!" Gothita releases a multicolored beam of energy from her arms, and they hit Haunter, dealing super effective damage to her. Haunter begins hovering around, dizzily. "It appears Haunter is confused."
"Haunter, try using Payback." said Lucy. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Haunter and she hurts herself.
"Gothita, Confusion!" said the boy. Gothita's eyes glow purple and Haunter gets slammed onto the ground.
"Haunter, Shadow Punch." said Lucy. Haunter fights through her confusion and her right hand becomes surrounded by gray energy. She launches it at Gothita and hits her, dealing super effective damage. Gothita struggles to get up.
"Gothita, Confusion once more!" said the boy. Gothita's eyes glow purple and Haunter gets thrown into a wall, being dealt super effective damage. Haunter struggles to stay afloat.
"Haunter, Lick." said Lucy. Haunter shakes her head, snapping out of her confusion. She floats at Gothita and licks it, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out.
"No!" exclaimed the boy.
"You did it, Lucy!" cheered Leni.
"You were awesome!" cheered Luna. The boy growls and returns Gothita to its pokeball. He puts Gothita's pokeball away and pulls out another.
"Let's see how your Haunter does against Hatenna!" said the boy, throwing the pokeball and releasing a round, pink and light blue Pokemon that looked like it was wearing a pointed pink hat. Lucy takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Hatenna, the Calm Pokemon. If this Pokémon senses a strong emotion, it will run away as fast as it can. It prefers areas without people." said the Rotom Phone. Lucy puts her Rotom Phone away.
"Hatenna, Confusion!" said the boy. Hatenna's body glows purple and Haunter gets slammed onto the ground, knocking it out.
"No, Haunter." said Lucy. The boy smirks.
"Looks like I win." said the boy. Lucy returns Haunter to her pokeball.
"You deserve a rest, Haunter." said Lucy. She puts Haunter's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Duskull, go." She throws Duskull's pokeball and releases him. "Duskull, Shadow Sneak." Duskull's shadow stretches out towards Hatenna. It rises from the ground and strikes Hatenna, dealing super effective damage.
"Hatenna, Confusion!" said the boy. Hatenna glows purple and Duskull gets sent flying into the ground, but he gets back up.
"Duskull, Night Shade." said Lucy. Duskull unleashes a beam of black and red energy from his eye, and it hits Hatenna, dealing super effective damage to it. Hatenna struggles to remain standing.
"Hatenna, Disarming Voice!" said the boy. Hatenna lets out a cry and releases pink soundwaves onto Duskull, hitting him.
"Duskull, Payback." said Lucy. Duskull releases streams of black energy from his body and they hit Hatenna, dealing super effective damage to it and knocking it out.
"I don't believe it!" exclaimed the boy.
"Lucy won!" cheered Clyde.
"I never doubted her for a second." said Lincoln. The boy returns his Hatenna to its pokeball.
"I can't believe that I lost to someone who is so beneath me." said the boy. He then throws pokedollars over to Lucy.
"That should teach you that you shouldn't underestimate anyone." said Lincoln.
"Whatever. I'll remember this next time we meet." said the boy.
"Hey." said Lincoln. "You never introduced yourself to us."
"Hmph. Well, I suppose it's proper courtesy to do so, even if the people I do so to are beneath me." said the boy. "My name is Bede."
"I'm Lincoln Loud." said Lincoln.
"I'm his sister, Luna." said Luna.
"I'm his sister, Leni." said Leni.
"I'm Lucy." said Lucy from behind everyone, scaring them.
"I'm Lana." said Lana.
"I'm Lola, the pretty one." said Lola.
"I'm Lincoln's best friend, Clyde." said Clyde.
"And I'm Ronnie Anne." said Ronnie Anne.
"I suppose I'll try to go to the trouble of remembering those names; not that they matter to me, as I'll be the one to become the new Champion." said the boy now known as Bede. He then turns around and exits the mine.
"What a jerk." said Lana.
"I hope we don't see him again." said Lola.
"Well if he's a Gym Challenger, we might have to face him in the Gym Challenge eventually." said Lincoln.
"Then we'll have to be ready for him if that happens." said Clyde.
"Yeah." said Ronnie Anne.
"Well, anyway; let's get out of here and head to Turffield." said Lincoln. Everyone cheers in response and exits the mine.
