Turffield Gym Battles (Part Four)
In the test area, a staff member was explaining the rules to Clyde.
"You may begin when you're ready." said the staff member.
"Thank you, sir." said Clyde. Clyde then speed walked towards the Wooloos instead of running because of his asthma. The Wooloos rolled away from him and he successfully herded the Wooloos through the haybale barricade. Clyde then proceeded to herd the Wooloos through the other two barricades. After the Wooloos went into two seperate pens, Clyde climbs up the stairs on the other end of the test area and reaches the top. Smoke shoots up from the sides, indicating Clyde's success. Back at Royal Woods, everyone was watching Clyde as he passed his Gym Test.
"He did it, Harold!" cheered Howard McBride, hugging Harold McBride.
"He certainly did." said Harold.
"That was literally amazing." said Lori.
"Can't believe that nerd actually passed." said Lynn Jr.
"Don't talk about our boy like that, young lady." said Howard.
"Now all our little boy has to do is defeat that Milo person and Clyde will get his Grass Badge." said Harold. Back at Turffield Stadium, Clyde and Milo were walking down seperate stadium tunnels until they reached the pitch.
"You've done well in passing your Gym Test, young man." said Milo.
"Thank you." said Clyde.
"Now if you want the Grass Badge, you'll have to beat me in our gym battle." said Milo.
"This will be a two-on-two battle between the Gym Leader, Milo; and the Gym Challenger, Clyde McBride. Both trainers will battle until both of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. Whoever has Pokemon still conscious at the end of the battle will be the winner." said the referee. Clyde and Milo walk to opposite ends of the pitch while the referee walks off to the side. Clyde and Milo each pull a pokeball out of their pocket.
"Go, Gossifleur!" said Milo, throwing Gossifleur's pokeball and releasing it.
"Torracat, go!" said Clyde, throwing Torracat's pokeball and releasing him. Back at Royal Woods.
"My, what a fierce cat that Pokemon looks." said Howard.
"It looks strong too." said Harold.
"Maybe it can be Cleo and Nep's bodyguard." said Howard. Back at Turffield Stadium.
"Torracat, Fire Fang!" said Clyde. Torracat leaps at Gossifleur while his mouth was covered in flame and he bites Gossifleur, dealing super effective damage to it and knocking it out.
"Gossifleur is unable to battle. Torracat wins." said the referee.
'Incredible! With one move, Clyde's Torracat has beaten Milo's Gossifleur!' said the announcer. Back at Royal Woods.
"That was incredible!" said Harold.
"Oh, I hope Torracat didn't burn its tongue with that move." said Howard.
"Torracat looks fine to me." said Lynn Sr.
"Yeah, that Pokemon looks like it can easily take the heat." said Lynn Jr. Howard smile and nods in response. Back at Turffield Stadium, Milo returns Gossifleur to its pokeball.
"I'm sorry, Gossifleur. I promise to spend time training you after today's battles." said Milo. He puts Gossifleur's pokeball away and pulls another one out of his pocket. "Go, Eldegloss!" He throws Eldegloss' pokeball and releases it. He then returns Eldegloss to its pokeball and enlarges it with his Dynamax Band. He throws it and releases a Dynamaxed Eldegloss. Clyde returns Torracat to his pokeball and uses his Dynamax to enlarge it. He throws it and releases Torracat, now Dynamaxed.
"Okay, Torracat, Max Flare!" said Clyde. Torracat opens his mouth and releases a massive beam of fire from his mouth and it blasts Eldegloss, dealing super effective damage. Intense sunlight filled the area.
'And Max Flare has filled the area with sunlight.' said the announcer.
"Eldegloss, use Max Strike!" said Milo. Eldegloss begins surging with energy and a massive beam of energy shoots up from below Torracat, damaging him and lowering his speed.
"It'll take more than that to stop us, right, Torracat?!" said Clyde. Torracat nods in response. "Okay, Torracat, finish this with Max Flare!" Torracat unleashes another beam of fire and it hits Eldegloss, dealing massive damage to it due to the intense sun powering up Torracat's fire attacks. Eldegloss' energy explodes and it shrinks down to its original size and passes out.
"Eldegloss is unable to battle. Torracat wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Clyde McBride." said the referee.
'Torracat has defeated Milo's Eldegloss, earning Clyde McBride the victory!' said the announcer.
"We did it, Torracat!" said Clyde. Torracat returns to his regular size and Clyde walks to him and hugs him. Torracat nuzzles him in return. At the stands, Lincoln, his sisters, and Ronnie Anne were cheering for Clyde.
"Way to go, buddy!" cheered Lincoln.
"That was so cool!" said Ronnie Anne.
"That was, like, totes amazing." said Leni.
"I agree." said Lucy. At Royal Woods, Clyde's dads were watching him hugging Torracat on T.V and they hugged each other and begin jumping up and down.
"Our son did it, Hare-Bear!" said Howard.
"I'm so proud of him, Howie!" said Harold.
"That was literally impressive." said Lori.
"I'll say." said Bobby. Back at Turffield Stadium, Milo returns Eldegloss to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Eldegloss." said Milo. He puts Eldegloss' pokeball away and walks over to Clyde. He sees Milo approaching him and stands up from hugging Torracat. "Your Torracat is quite strong."
"Thanks, Milo." said Clyde. Milo reaches into his pocket and pulls a Grass Badge out of his pocket.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with the Grass Badge." said Milo. Clyde takes the badge, along with pokedollars. Later at the lobby, Clyde was being congratulated by the others.
"You were awesome out there, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"You can say that again." said Luna.
"You were amazing." said Lola. A staff member walks to the group.
"Okay, there's enough time for one more gym battle." said the staff member. "Which one of you is next?" Lincoln walks over to the staff member.
"I am, sir." said Lincoln.
"Very well then. You may proceed to the test area." said the staff member. Lincoln nods and looks back at his friends and family.
"Give it your all, buddy." said Clyde.
"You got this, Lame-O." said Ronnie Anne.
"We totes believe in you." said Leni.
"Show Milo what you can do!" said Luna. Lincoln smiles and heads through the door to the test area. When he enters it, the staff member explains the rules to him. Once Lincoln confirms that he was ready, he begins his Gym Test. He manages to herd all the Wooloos through every hay bale barricade until he reached the end. After the Wooloos went into their pens, Lincoln walks up the stairs to the top and plumes of smoke shoots out from around him, indicating he successfully passed his Gym Test. Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was cheering Lincoln on.
"Stinkoln did it!" said Lynn Jr.
"He sure did, sweetie." said Rita.
"Now all Lincoln has to do is defeat Milo." said Luan.
"Well if everyone else was able to, then I'm certain Lincoln will also." said Lynn Sr. Back at Turffield Stadium, Lincoln was standing in a tunnel leading out onto the pitch, looking at his Raboot's pokeball.
'Well, it's all down to me now.' Lincoln thought to himself. 'I wonder how much stronger my Raboot has gotten since I got him when he was a Scorbunny.' A staff member walks over to him.
"Young man?" said the staff member, snapping Lincoln out of his thoughts. "You may go out onto the pitch now."
"Oh. Thank you." said Lincoln. He then takes a deep breath, then walks out onto the pitch, with the audience cheering for him, including his sisters and friends.
"You can do it, Lincoln!" shouts Lana.
"We believe in you!" shouts Lola.
"We all do!" said Leni. Lucy gives Lincoln a thumbs up. Lincoln smiles at the support from his friends and family. He and Milo soon reach the center of the pitch.
"How many Loud kids are there?" asked Milo with exasperation.
"Eleven in all." answered Lincoln, shocking MIlo.
"ELEVEN?!" replied Milo.
"Yeah, but only six of us are doing the Gym Challenge." said Lincoln. "I'm the last one you'll have to deal with today." Milo lets out a sigh of relief. The referee walks over to them.
"This will be a two-on-two battle between the Gym Leader, Milo; and the Gym Challenger, Lincoln Loud. Both trainers will battle until both of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. Whoever has Pokemon still conscious at the end of the battle will be the winner." said the referee. Lincoln and Milo walk to opposite ends of the pitch while the referee walks off to the side. Lincoln and Milo each pull a pokeball out of their pocket. Milo throws his, releasing his Gossifleur; Lincoln throws his releasing his Raboot.
"And the last gym battle Milo's battling today is against another kid with the last name, Loud." said the announcer. "By Arceus, how many Loud children are there, and how are they strong trainers?"
"Raboot! Use Flame Charge!" said Lincoln. Raboot's body becomes coated in fire as he rushes at the Gossifleur and slams into it, doing super effective damage and more thanks to the Charcoal he was holding, and knocking it out.
"Gossifleur is unable to battle. Raboot is the winner." said the referee.
"Awesome!" said Lincoln. Suddenly, a surge of energy rises up from Raboot. "Looks like Flame Charge has boosted your speed a bit."
"Unbelievable! Another Loud child's Pokemon has knocked out Gossifleur in one strike!" said the announcer. Back at the Loud house, everyone was cheering Lincoln on.
"Our kids are strong Pokemon trainers!" said Lynn Sr.
"I'm so proud of them." said Rita.
"Keep it up, Stinkoln!" shouts Lynn Jr. Back at Turffield Stadium, Milo returns his Gossifleur to its pokeball.
"Today just isn't our day, Gossifleur." said Milo. He pockets Gossifleur's pokeball and pulls out his last one. He throws it, releasing his Eldegloss. After that, he returns it to its pokeball and uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it. He then throws the large pokeball, releasing his Dynamaxed Eldegloss. Lincoln looks at his Raboot for a while before looking up at the Eldegloss.
"Lincoln! Hurry up and Dynamax your Raboot!" shouts Clyde. Lincoln looks at Clyde and the others, then gives them a thumbs up, confusing them.
"What's Lincoln doing?" asked Lola.
"Not sure, dudette." said Luna. "But we should believe that Lincoln knows what he's doing."
"I hope so." said Ronnie Anne.
"Raboot! Use Headbutt!" said Lincoln. Raboot leaps at the Dynamaxed Eldegloss and slams headfirst into its face, making it stumble back a bit.
"I don't believe this! Lincoln's taking on Milo's Dynamaxed Eldegloss without Dynamaxing his Raboot!" shouts the announcer. Eldegloss sees Raboot staring at it and flinches a bit.
"Looks like Headbutt made that Eldegloss flinch." said Lincoln. "Now, Raboot! Use one last Flame Charge!"
"You got it, Lincoln!" shouts Raboot as he runs the stunned Eldegloss and slams into it with another powered up Flame Charge, doing just enough damage to making its energy explode and returning it to normal size, unconscious.
"Eldegloss is unable to battle. Raboot is the winner. That means the winner of the match is the Gym Challenger, Lincoln Loud." said the referee.
"INCREDIBLE! Lincoln Loud has defeated Milo's Dynamaxed Eldegloss with a normal-sized Raboot!" said the announcer. The audience roars with applause, along with his sisters and friends.
"That was awesome!" said Lana.
"Wicked." said Lucy.
"Raboot won!" said Lola.
"Lincoln did an amazing job!" said Ronnie Anne. Back at the Loud house, everyone was cheering at Lincoln's victory.
"That was incredible!" said Bobby.
"I can't believe that Raboot beat an opponent bigger than he is." said Rita.
"Size isn't everything, Mom." said Lynn Jr. "I can take Dad easily, and he's taller than me."
"I can vouche for that fact." said Lynn Sr. Back at Turffield Stadium, Milo returned his Eldegloss to its pokeball.
"Today hasn't been our day; has it, Eldegloss." says Milo. He then puts Eldegloss's pokeball in his pocket and walks over to Lincoln. "I must say, Lincoln; Your Raboot must be very strong in order to take on my Dynamaxed Eldegloss without being Dynamaxed himself."
"I know." said Lincoln. "I've trained him very hard." Milo nods as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Grass Badge, along with some pokedollars.
"In recognititon of your victory, I present you with this Grass Badge." said Milo as he hands it and the pokedollars to Lincoln.
"Thank you, sir." said Lincoln. He looks at his Grass Badge with a smile on his face. Five minutes later, he and the rest of his group met back in the lobby.
"Good work, Linc." said Ronnie Anne.
"You and Raboot were amazing!" said Lola.
"Totes!" said Leni. Later that evening just outside Turffield while everyone was having dinner, they were talking with their families back in Royal Woods via video chat about their gym battles.
"We are so proud of you, kids!" said Lynn Sr.
"You guys did okay." said Lynn Jr.
"That's the understatement of the year." said Luan.
"So, what's next for you?" asked Rita. Lincoln thinks for a bit.
"Maybe we'll head back to the Isle of Armor for a bit." said Lincoln. "I want to get some Max Soup for my Alcremie. I may even train her, along with my new Leafeon for a while as long as I'm there."
"Yeah, I want to really step up my Pokemon's training." said Ronnie Anne.
"I'm gonna train my Pokemon also." said Clyde. Lincoln's sisters also stated their plans to train their Pokemon.
"And after that; we'll head to Hulbury to take on the gym there." said Lincoln.
"Well, do your best, kids." said Lynn Sr.
"And Clyde, you do your best, and be careful." said Howard McBride.
"And that goes double for you, Ronalda." said Maria.
"I will, Mom." said Ronnie Anne. They talk for a bit before ending the call. Once they finished eating, they cleaned their dishes, set up camp, and went right to sleep.
