The next morning in Stow-on-Side, everyone was just finishing breakfast.
"I can't wait to earn my fifth badge." said Lincoln.
"Me, too." said Clyde. Lucy lets out a small yawn.
"Didn't get much sleep, Luce?" asked Luna.
"I was hanging out with Allister last night." said Lucy with a blush, making her sisters squeal with delight.
"We're, totes, glad you found a boy you really like." said Leni. Lincoln then thinks back to yesterday with a blush as he remembers hanging out with Marnie; everyone else notices this.
"What's with you, Lincoln?" asked Clyde.
"He's probably thinking about Marnie." said Lola with a grin, making the other sisters squeal with glee, and Ronnie Anne growl.
"I hope you two run into each other soon." said Sam.
"So do I." said Lincoln with a smile, making his sisters squeal with glee some more.
"What Pokemon do you think the Ballonlea gym leader will have?" asked Lana.
"I think the gym leader is that Opal lady." said Clyde.
"I think she has fairy type Pokemon." said Lola with interest.
"We should have Pokemon that can handle that type of Pokemon ready." suggested Ronnie Anne.
"If I remember right, steel and poison have both attack and defense advantages against them; fire types can also handle fairy type moves also." said Lincoln. "Maybe I'll get my Lucario ready and train him; haven't done that in a while."
"I wanna get Excadrill ready also." said Lana. "Plus, I have my Salazzle and Garbador."
"I'll have my Venusaur and Flareon." said Clyde.
"Sam and I got our Toxtricities." said Luna.
"I got my Steelix and Stunfisk also." said Sam.
"I have Gardevoir and Vulpix." said Leni.
"I got Gengar." said Lucy.
"My Pokemon are just fine." said Lola.
"My Larvesta should have the advantage." said Ronnie Anne. Lincoln uses his Rotom Phone to exchange his Zoroark for his Lucario and Lana uses her Rotom Phone to exchange her Jolteon for her Excadrill.
After the exchanges were made, the group leave Stow-on-Side and enter the forest on the edge of it; they look around at the dark woods illuminated by glowing mushrooms.
"At least we have some light showing us the path." said Sam.
"Sigh; if it wasn't for that then this forest would be a nice place to go for a stroll with Allister." said Lucy.
"So, what's this place again?" asked Leni.
"The map says it's called Glimwood Tangle." said Lincoln.
"What kind of Pokemon live here?" asked Lana.
"We'll find out when we start looking around." said Clyde. The group then starts to explore the area. Some rustling in some nearby grass gets their attention.
"What's that?" asked Clyde. He got his answer when a Ponyta comes out, much to Lola's delight.
"It's a Ponyta!" squealed Lola. She then takes out her Polteageist's pokeball and lets it out.
"She really must want one." said Sam.
"And that's a smart move to use a ghost type against a psychic type." said Lincoln.
The Ponyta sees Polteageist and gets ready for battle; it starts out by firing a beam of psychic energy from her horn at Polteageist, hitting it.
"Polteageist, use Sucker Punch!" said Lola. A liquid comes out of Polteagiest and forms into a fist that hits the Ponyta, doing super effective damage. The Ponyta responds by releasing a blast of pink wind from its body that hits Polteageist. "Use Mega Drain!" A stream of green energy comes out of Polteageist's spout that hits the Ponyta, draining it of stamina which is used to heal Polteageist a bit.
"Try catching it, Lola!" said Lana. Lola nods before she takes out a Heal Ball and throws it at the Ponyta, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Yes! I caught a Ponyta!" said Lola. As the pokeball disappears to storage, she looks up her new Pokemon's information on her Rotom Phone. "This says that my Ponyta's a girl, she knows Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip, Confusion, Fairy Wind, Agility, Psybeam, and Stomp; plus, she has the Pastel Veil ability which protects her from being poisoned."
"Good work, Lola." said Lincoln.
Everyone then got started on training their Pokemon for their upcoming gym battles
Lincoln trained up his Lucario and he learned Bone Rush and Swords Dance.
Clyde trained his Venusaur and Flareon; his Flareon soon learned Scary Face.
Leni's Gardevoir got stronger and her Vulpix learned Fire Spin.
"I totes hope we find a Fire Stone so I can evolve my Vulpix." said Leni.
"Maybe before we take on the Ballonea gym, we can stop by the Digging Duo." said Lincoln.
"That's a totes, good idea." said Leni.
Lana's Salazzle learned Venoshock, her Garbodor learned Gunk Shot, and her Excadrill learned Dig and Swords Dance.
Lucy's trained her Gengar, and she soon learned Dark Pulse.
Lola trained her Pokemon and they got stronger.
Ronnie Anne trained her Larvesta and she learned Bug Buzz.
Sam's Stunfisk got stronger while her Steelix learned Sand Tomb, Stealth Rock, and Slam; her Toxtricity, along with Luna's, got stronger.
Soon, everyone decides to take a lunch break.
"Do you think we'll be ready when we get to Ballonlea?" asked Lana.
"I'm sure we'll do just fine." said Lola. After everyone finishes eating, they were about to start cleaning their dishes when Lincoln notices a plate floating on its own.
"What's going on?" asked Lincoln, getting everyone's attention.
"Are these woods haunted?" asked Clyde.
"That would be awesome." said Lucy. Everyone watches as a sponge starts scrubbing the dirty plate until it was clean.
"Maybe the ghost is neat?" suggested Ronnie Anne.
"Hey, what's that?" asked Lola as she looks at a dark purple, bipedal Pokemon with pale purple horns spiraling down the sides of its head; they see that its eyes were glowing.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Leni as she takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Indeedee, the Emotion Pokemon. They diligently serve people and Pokémon so they can gather feelings of gratitude. The females are particularly good at babysitting." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"They're like Pokemon butlers and maids." said Clyde.
"This, totes, sounds like a nice Pokemon." said Leni. Everyone watched Indeedee until it was done cleaning the dishes.
"Wow; thanks, Indeedee." said Lincoln. Indeedee smiles in response.
"Do you think we should catch this Pokemon?" asked Sam.
"I'm on it." said Lola. Suddenly, one of her Heal Balls floats out of her backpack and over to Indeedee; it presses itself against the Pokemon's head, making it suck it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Wow, that was easy." said Lincoln. Lola looks up her new Indeedee's information on her pokedex.
"This says that Indeedee is a girl, she knows Stored Power, Play Nice, Encore, Disarming Voice, Psybeam, Helping Hand, After You, Aromatherapy, and Psychic; she has the Own Tempo ability like Linky's Lycanroc did when he was a Rockruff." said Lola. She uses her Rotom Phone to swap her Azumarill for her new Indeedee.
"What are you gonna do with Indeedee?" asked Lana.
"If she's with us, we won't have to wash dishes." said Lola.
"And we should all remember to show her gratitude." said Clyde.
"Good idea." said Lincoln; everyone else agrees also. Everyone then calls their families to let them know how they were doing.
"Hi, kids; how's Galar going?" asked Lynn Sr. They all told them about their training so far, along with Lola's new Pokemon.
"Wish we had one of those Indeedees here with us." said Rita.
"We're glad you kids are doing just fine there." said Howard McBride.
"And be sure to show Indeedee appreciation for when she helps out there." said Harold McBride.
"We will." said Lincoln. They talk for a few minutes before ending the call.
"So, off to Ballonlea?" asked Luna.
"Yep; let's go everyone." said Lincoln.
The group continue on their way through the Glimwood Tangle. What will they see once they arrive in Ballonlea? Wait and find out.
