The coast guard rushed across the beach towards the wrecked ship. Then, a large, black furred wolf jumped off the ship and rushed off the beach. "What the Hell?!" he shouted, before seeing a man rush off the ship, and out of sight. "Tell the authorities to send out a search party, and find that man!" he hollered to one of his assistants.

Then, the coast guard boarded the ship, and he looked around the ship. There was a large hole in one of the below deck access points, and the mast had collapsed. He went up to the bridge deck, and he was met with a terrifying sight.

There was a dead man tied to the steering wheel in the T-position, as if he was crucified on the wheel. He appeared to have been in his late 60's, and he had a large bite mark on his neck, but the rain had washed all the blood away.

He noticed a book in the man's pocket, and he pulled it out. The book had the words "Log book" written on the cover. He opened it up, and looked through some of the pages. He skipped to the final few entries, which most likely detailed the events of the last voyage of the Demeter.

Then, he turned and looked at the bystanders watching the ordeal. "Nothing to see here! Everyone, just go home!" he shouted. Despite there clearly being a lot to see, the majority of people figured it would be best to just go for now.

As Mina and Ada walked back to Lucy's home, Mina couldn't help but notice the worried look on Ada's face. "Are you alright, hon?" she asked. "Oh… yeah, I just… that wolf looked like it had red eyes. I could see them from the docks." Ada said.

"Oh, I'm sure you were just seeing things." Mina said. "What do you think killed the man at the steering wheel?" Ada asked. "Probably that wolf." Mina answered. "How did that wolf even get on the ship?" Ada asked.

"I don't know. Look… it's just a wolf. There's nothing to worry about." Mina said. "Yeah… Lucy's mother is probably scarier than that wolf." Ada said, which warranted a small giggle from Mina.

As the rain fell, the purple paint began to wash out of Ada's hair. "Awww! My hair paint!" Ada exclaimed. "You don't need it." Mina said as she held her umbrella over Ada.

Meanwhile:

A well dressed man with combed blonde hair walked up to the ship and the coast guard. "Excuse me, but this ship is carrying several crates that a client of mine wishes to be delivered to several houses on the perimeter of London." the man (named S.F Billington) said.

"And where would your client be?" the coast guard asked. "I don't know. When I met with him, he said that he would get a place to live from another agent for some reason." Billington said.

"Alright then. Everything should be figured out by the end of the day, and we'll make sure that the cargo arrives at their destinations soon enough." the coast guard said.

The next day:

Ada woke up and walked outside to be met with the morning sun. The area was still soaked from the storm the day before. Then, Ada saw a man running from door to door, asking people if they had seen his dog.

He proceeded to walk up to Ada. "Have you seen my dog? He's elderly, with light brown fur, he's a Labrador." the man said. "N-no, I haven't." Ada said.

Then, they heard someone holler at them. "Hey, are you still looking for your dog?!" the person asked. "Yes!" the man answered. "I think I found it." the person said. Both Ada and the man followed the person.

They ended up coming across the man's dog, which had its throat, and its stomach torn out, lying behind a bush. The man didn't utter a single word. He just dropped to his knees and began sobbing quietly at the sight of his dead companion.

Then, Mina, Lucy, and Lucy's mother rushed up to them. "What's going on?" Lucy asked before she saw the dead dog, the sight of the corpse making her want to throw up. She proceeded to vomit in the nearby bush.

"What kind of monster would do this?" Mina asked as the neighbors began gathering around the corpse. "Everyone back up!" an officer shouted before kneeling down in front of the dog corpse.

"We'll find the man that killed your dog." the officer said. "Alright, this is a crime scene. Everyone go!" the officer shouted as people went back into their homes.

Later that day: Lucy, Lucy's mother, and Ada were all relaxing in the living room, when Mina came rushing in with a newspaper. "A reporter translated the captain's log from the shipwreck." Mina said.

She sat down and she began reading through it. "For my final voyage, we are shipping crates full of unknown cargo from Romania to London, set to dock in Whitby." she read before flipping an entry ahead.

"A starving man covered in bite marks has been found in a crate full of soil. He keeps ranting about a monster on the ship." Mina read before skipping a few pages ahead.

"The voyage is doomed. Evil has found its way aboard the ship, and the first mate has committed suicide. The crew is dropping like flies." she read before flipping ahead to another page.

"We must scuttle the ship. This monster cannot reach England. My grandson is dead, and I will have no money from the voyage to buy a home in England. There's nothing left for me. I'm going down with the ship." Mina read.

[Flashback]

The Demeter sailed through the rough waters of the North sea during an intense thunderstorm, the sky was dark and covered in clouds, and large waves spilled water onto the deck. Captain Elliot rushed up to the bridge deck, stumbling around on the rocking ship.

Then, a large wave hit him, and almost washed him through the railing of the ship. He climbed up the stairs to the bridge deck. He could hear the unholy whales of Dracula, but he couldn't see where the unholy beast was.

He proceeded to tie himself to the wheel as if he was being crucified. If he were to die, then he would die at the wheel. There was no stopping Dracula. The plan to sink the ship had failed, and everyone else in the crew was now dead.

He waited as the whales ceased. It seemed as though the monster had interest in him. Then, Dracula dropped down from one of the masts, landing six feet in front of Elliot with a loud thud, before slowly looking up at Elliot.

The gargoyle-like monster slowly walked towards Elliot, but Ellliot showed no sign of fear. Then, Dracula lunged at Elliot, biting him in the neck and tearing out a chunk of flesh, killing Elliot.

The Demeter neared the shores of Whitby, and wrecked on the beach. The coast guard rushed up to the ship, Dracula morphed into a black wolf, before fleeing the ship, and the man mentioned in one of the entries also fled the ship off into the distance.

[Back to the present]

Mina put the newspaper away, and they heard a knock at the door. Ada opened the door, and the mailman handed a letter to her. Ada closed the door and looked at the letter. "It's addressed to you, Mina." Ada said as she handed it to Mina.

"It's from a man named Dracula." she said as she opened up the letter and read it. "I regret to inform you that your Fiance, Jonathan Harker, has died. He went out into the woods, and was torn apart by a pack of wolves." Mina read.

Mina gasped and covered her mouth at the news of her best friend's death. She continued reading, her voice shaky as she tried to hold back tears. "It is Romanian custom to bury the bodies of guests who die on your watch yourself." she read.

"Bullshit! That's not Romanian custom!" Ada said. "Look, Ada… I am not in the mood right now for conspiracies. I just got told that my best friend is dead." Mina said. "But-" Ada was cut off by Mina. "You haven't lived in Romania for a while. M-maybe things changed, but we can't just accuse this Dracula person of doing something he shouldn't." Mina said.

"Okay… whatever you say." Ada said. Mina proceeded to go upstairs, crying. Ada quickly followed after to comfort her.

"I can't believe Jonathan died. He was such a nice young man." Lucy said. "And Mina can't even bury his body herself. This is what I mean when I say that Romanians are strange." Lucy's mother said. "Would you shut up about that?!" Lucy asked before leaving the room.

Later that day: People were gathered in the cemetery, watching Captain Elliot's funeral, not out of grief, but out of fascination. It was an open casket, so people were able to see the gruesome neck wound on the body, which made people question what had happened to the poor old man.

One man's dog, which was usually gentle, began howling wildly. "Calm down girl!" the dog's owner said. Mina and Ada walked away, Mina still struggling with the loss of Jonathan, before they were both startled by the sight of Mr. Swales body on ground, dead.

"Holy shit!" Ada exclaimed at the sight. "Mr. Swales is dead! I think his neck is broken!" she shouted before people rushed over to the sight.

"How did this happen?" Lucy asked. "Maybe something spooked him and he slipped. "Ada proposed as two officers came up to the body, and people stepped away.

Later that night:

Mina, Ada, and Lucy's mother were all sitting in the living room, while Lucy paced back and forth, smoking Tobacco pipe. "It's all going to shit! My wedding's postponed, Jonathan's dead, Mr. Swales is dead! Everything is so chaotic!" Lucy said, taking another drag from her pipe, but it wasn't doing anything to calm her down.

"And something, probably that wolf that you two told me about, is lurking around this town, and killed that poor dog." Lucy said. "Relax dear, I'm sure the authorities will deal with all of this." Lucy's mother said, hoping to reassure Lucy.

"Well, it's getting late, we should all probably go to bed." Ada said before she and Mina looked upstairs.

Later that night: Ada crept back downstairs, and she looked around for a crucifix to place over the bed, before she looked out a window, and saw a creature with light grey skin creeping around outside. She quickly closed the curtains, and opened up a drawer, finding a crucifix and going back upstairs.

"Evil is abound, evil is abound, evil is abound, evil is abound." she repeated to herself as she walked back upstairs, holding the crucifix to her chest.

A/N: And that's the end of this chapter. Pretty soon, things will be getting much more complicated for our main characters.
