Circhester Gym Battles (Part Two)
Later in the test area, Lola was just going over what she had to do; once she gets the Trap Detector, she slowly makes her way through the icy fields, making sure not to fall in any of the hidden pitfalls so she doesn't bruise her 'delicate body'.
She also manages to defeat all the trainers she came across as well. She does this until she manages to get through all three areas with very few falls; when she reaches the exit gate, plumes of smoke shoot out from the sides of it, indicating she's passed her Gym Test.
Back in Royal Woods at the Loud house, everyone was cheering Lola on.
"She made it!" said Rita.
"That test seems like a real pain if you're not careful." said Lori. Lynn Sr only sniffled in response.
"Now all she has to do is beat Melony to get her next badge." said Luan.
Later, back at Circhester Stadium in the battle area, Lola and Melony came out of gates at opposite ends of the field where they meet at the center.
"So, you're the one who's taking over the Ballonlea Gym once Opal retires?" Melony asked Lola.
"You heard of that?" Lola replied.
"We, Gym Leaders, like to talk about interesting things we see in our gym battles." said Melony. "Opal mentioned you and how you were everything she could want in a successor."
"She has exquisite tastes." said Lola as she does a hair flip.
"Now let's see how well you do against me, young lady." said Melony. She and Lola then walk to opposite ends of the field as an official comes to the center of it.
"This gym battle will be between the Gym Leader Melony and the challenger, Lola Loud." said the official. "Each trainer will use four Pokemon. Whichever trainer is able to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin!" The official walks off the field while Lola and Melody each pull out a pokeball.
"Frosmoth, go!" shouts Melony as she lets out her Frosmoth.
"And Melony starts out with her Frosmoth!" said the announcer. "What Pokemon will Lola use?"
"Rapidash, you're up, dearie!" said Lola as she lets out her Rapidash.
"And Lola starts out with a majestic Rapidash!" said the announcer.
"Rapidash, use Stomp!" said Lola. Rapidash runs over to the Frosmoth and rears up before bringing her feet down onto her opponent, driving it into the ground.
"Frosmoth, use Bug Buzz!" said Melony. Frosmoth lets out an ear-piercing soundwave that hits Rapidash, dealing damage to her.
"Rapidash, use Psycho Cut!" said Lola. Rapidash swings her head, releasing a blade of psychic energy from her horn that lands a critical hit on the Frosmoth, damaging it enough to knock it out.
"Frosmoth is unable to battle. Rapidash is the winner." said the official.
"Lola's Rapidash beats Melony's Frosmoth!" said the announcer. "What's Melony gonna do now?"
"Keep it up, Lola!" said Lana.
"You got this, sis!" said Luna.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was cheering Lola on.
"She's doing good so far." said Rita.
"That Rapidash looks like Lola's kind of Pokemon." said Lori.
"A-As l-long as she's happy." said Lynn Sr.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony was returning her Frosmoth to its pokeball.
"Rest up, Frosmoth." said Melony. She puts Frosmoth's pokeball back on her waist and pulls off another one; she tosses it, releasing her Darmanitan.
"And Melony brings out her Darmanitan!" said the announcer. "Will it be able to defeat Lola's Rapidash?"
"Rapidash, use Psybeam!" said Lola. Rapidash fires a beam of psychic energy that hits Darmanitan, dealing damage.
"Darmanitan, use Avalanche!" said Melony. Darmanitan drops a large wave of snow onto Rapidash, doing double the damage it would've done due to Darmanitan taking damage before using it.
"Rapidash, use Tackle!" said Lola. Rapidash runs at the Darmanitan and hits it, doing damage; it suddenly turns into his Zen Mode.
"Darmanitan, use Bite!" said Melony. Darmanitan runs at Rapidash, dealing damage, and making her flinch. "Use Icicle Crash!" Darmanitan drops a bunch of large icicles onto Rapidash, doing enough damage to knock her out.
"Rapidash is unable to battle. Darmanitan is the winner." said the announcer.
"Melony's Darmanitan takes out Lola's Rapidash!" said the announcer. "Now both trainers are down to three Pokemon each. What will Lola do now?"
"HOW DARE YOU HURT MY MAGNIFICENT RAPIDASH!" shouts Lola. She then returns her Rapidash to her pokeball. "You were wonderful, Rapidash."
Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was continuing to watch Lola's battle.
"Uh oh." said Rita. "Melony should be careful not to make Lola angry."
"You can say that again." said Luan.
"Even I have a hard time handling Lola when she's mad; and I'm a black belt." said Lynn Jr.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Lola was putting her Rapidash's pokeball back on her waist; she then pulls off another one and tosses it, releasing her Primarina.
"And Lola's next Pokemon is her beautiful Primarina." said the announcer. "Can it beat Melony's Darmanitan?"
"Does this answer your question?!" Lola asked the announcer, making him flinch. "Primarina, use Sparkling Aria!" Primarina starts to sing beautifully while creating a large bubble above her that bursts into dozens of smaller ones that shower down onto the Darmanitan, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Darmanitan is unable to battle. Primarina is the winner." said the official.
"And Primarina defeats Darmanitan." said the announcer. "Now Melony is down to two Pokemon."
"That was for Rapidash!" said Lola.
"Nice one, Lola!" said Lana.
"She's doing well." said Lucy.
"Well, she is going to be the next Ballonlea gym leader." said Clyde.
Back in Royal Woods, Lola's family and friends were continuing to support her.
"That's so awesome!" said Simon.
"That Primarina is so beautiful." said Howard McBride.
"And quite the talented singer." said Harold McBride.
Back in Circhester Stadium, Melony returns her Darmanitan to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Darmanitan." said Melony. She then puts Darmanitan's pokeball back on her waist and pulls off another one; she tosses it, releasing her Eiscue.
"And Melony's next Pokemon is her Eiscue." said the announcer. "Can it defeat Primarina?"
"Primarina, use Bubble Beam!" said Lola. Primarina releases a barrage of bubbles from her mouth that hits Eiscue, damaging it.
"Eiscue, use Freeze-Dry!" said Melony. Eiscue releases a blast of cold, dry air from its body that hits Primarina, dealing super effective damage.
"Primarina, use Hyper Voice!" said Lola. Primarina lets out a loud, but majestic, soundwave that hits Eiscue, damaging it.
"Eiscue, use Freeze-Dry again!" said Melony. Eiscue hits Primarina with another blast of cold dry air that does more super effective damage to her. An aura of blue energy flares up from Primarina.
"That's her Torrent ability!" said Lincoln.
"Primarina, use Sparkling Aria once more!" said Lola. Primarina does another enchanting melody that creates another large bubble that explodes into smaller ones that hit the Eiscue, and thanks to Primarina's Mystic Water, along with her Torrent ability; her attack was strong enough to knock her opponent out.
"Eiscue is unable to battle. Primarina is the winner." said the official.
"And Primarina takes down another of Melony's Pokemon!" said the announcer. "Now Melony's down to her last Pokemon. What will she do?"
"Woohoo!" cheered Lincoln.
"Just one more to go, Lols!" said Luna.
"You can do it!" said Ronnie Anne.
Back at the Loud house, everyone there was cheering on Lola.
"She's winning!" said Luan.
"Yeah, but Melony has one Pokemon remaining." said Lori.
"She'll win!" said Lynn Jr.
"Y-Yeah." stammered Lynn Sr with tears in his eyes.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony returns her Eiscue to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Eiscue." said Melony before putting Eiscue's pokeball back on her waist. "I see why Opal has chosen you to be her successor."
"She has very sophisticated taste." said Lola. Melony takes her last pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Lapras.
"And Melony brings out her Lapras!" said the announcer. Melony then returns her Pokemon to its pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it; she then tosses it, releasing her, now Gigantamaxed, Lapras. "And Melony Gigantamaxes her Lapras. Can Lola's Primarina defeat it?"
"Do you still want to battle, Primarina?" asked Lola with concern when she sees her Pokemon breathing hard, getting a nod in response. "Use Hyper Voice!" Primarina releases another lovely, but loud, soundwave that hits the Gigantamaxed Lapras, doing a little bit of damage.
"Lapras, use Max Strike!" said Melony. Lapras summons up a pillar of energy from beneath Primarina that overwhelms her and does enough damage to knock her out.
"Primarina is unable to battle. Lapras is the winner." said the official.
"And Lapras defeats Lola's Primarina!" said the announcer. "Can Melony pull a come back from behind victory?"
"Don't worry." said Lincoln. "Lola still has two Pokemon remaining."
"She'll win!" said Lana.
"Totes!" said Leni.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was continuing to support Lola.
"Don't give up, sweetie!" said Rita.
"She won't back down!" said Lynn Jr.
"She's a Loud!" said Lori.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Lola returns her Primarina to her pokeball.
"You were magnificent, Primarina." Lola says before she puts her Primarina's pokeball on her waist. "Hurting Rapidash was a mistake; hurting her AND Primarina was a bigger one!" She then takes another pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Whimsicott.
"And Lola's third Pokemon is a Whimsicott!" said the announcer. "Can it take down Melony's Gigantamaxed Lapras?"
Lola returns her Pokemon to her pokeball, then uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge before she tosses it, releasing her, now Dynamaxed, Whimsicott.
"It's Dynamaxed Pokemon vs Gigantamaxed Pokemon!" said the announcer.
"Whimsicott, use Max Overgrow!" said Lola. Whimsicott launches a bunch of glowing green seeds that surround Melony's Lapras and flash a green light that does super effective damage to it; grass suddenly sprouts up from the ground beneath them.
"And Whimsicott's attack creates Grassy Terrain!" said the announcer.
"Lapras, use G-Max Resonance!" said Melony. Lapras sings, making large hail stones fall onto Whimsicott, dealing super effective damage, and creates a barrier around it that increases its defenses.
"Whimsicott, use one more Max Overgrow!" said Lola. Whimsicott releases another barrage of seeds that were powered up by Grassy Terrain, releasing a stronger blast of light that damages Lapras enough to knock her back to her normal size, unconscious.
"Lapras is unable to battle. Whimsicott is the winner. The winner of the gym battle is the Gym Challenger Lola Loud!" said the official.
"Lola's done it!" said the announcer. "After an amazing battle, Lola defeats Melony to win the match!" Whimsicott shrinks down to her normal size as Lola runs up and hugs her.
"You were wonderful, Whimsicott!" said Lola.
"She did it!" said Clyde.
"I, totes, knew she would!" said Leni.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was celebrating Lola's victory.
"She won!" said Luan.
"I knew she could do it!" said Rita.
"W-We all did." said Lynn Sr with trembling lips.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony returns her Lapras to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Lapras." said Melony. She puts her pokeball back on her waist and walks over to Lola who just returned her Whimsicott to her pokeball. "You battled well, young lady."
"Thank you." Lola says while doing a curtsy. Melony reaches into her coat pocket and pulls out an Ice Badge.
"In recognition of your victory; I present you with the Ice Badge." said Melony as she hands it, along with some pokedollars.
"Check it out! I just earned the Ice Badge!" said Lola as she holds up her prize in triumph.
Later, in the Circhester Stadium lobby, everyone was congratulating Lola on her win.
"You were amazing, Lola!" said Lincoln.
"Yes you were." Lucy says from behind Lola, scaring her.
"T-Thanks, everyone." said Lola as she tries to calm her heart. A staff member walks over to them.
"Which of you will be taking the Gym Test next?" asked the staff member.
"I will." said Lucy from behind the staff member, scaring him.
"When you're ready, you may enter the test area." said the staff member. Lucy then enters the Test Area while the rest of the group went to the bleachers to wait for her. Once Lucy was in the Test Area, another staff member gives her the Trap Detector. She was able to through all three areas and beat every trainer in them without falling into a single pitfall; when she climbs to the top of the stairs, smoke shoots up from both sides of them, indicating she passed the Gym Test. Back at the Loud house, the rest of the Louds, the McBrides, the Santiagos, and Simon Sharp watched with amazement.
"Wow; she passed the test without literally falling into a single pitfall." said Lori.
"Th-That's my g-g-girl!" cried Lynn Sr.
"Now all she has to do is cream Melony." said Lynn Jr.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Lucy and Melony walked out of tunnels on each side of the battlefield until they meet at the center.
"I must say; I'm impressed with how you got through the test without falling into a single pitfall." said Melony.
"I had guidance from the spirits." replied Lucy.
"I...guess that's okay; nothing in the rulebook saying you can't rely on the spirits." said Melony with a nervous look on her face. She and Lucy walks to opposite ends of the field while an official walks to the center of it.
"This gym battle will be between the Gym Leader Melony and the challenger, Lucy Loud." said the official. "Each trainer will use four Pokemon. Whichever trainer is able to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin!" The official walks off the field while Lucy and Melody each pull out a pokeball.
"Frosmoth, go!" said Melony, throwing Frosmoth's pokeball and releasing it.
"Melony starts things off with her Frosmoth; what Pokemon will Lucy bring out first?" asked the announcer.
"Dusknoir, go." said Lucy, tossing Dusknoir's pokeball and releasing him.
"Lucy has brought out her Dusknoir." said the announcer. In the bleachers, Lincoln, his sisters, Clyde, Ronnie Anne, and Sam all watched while everyone at the Loud house did as well.
"Frosmoth, use Icy Wind!" said Melony. Frosmoth flaps its wings and releases a gust of wind with sparkling snow from them and its hits Dusknoir, damaging him.
"Dusknoir, Fire Punch." said Lucy. Dusknoir's floats towards Frosmoth while fire surrounded his fist and he punches Frosmoth, dealing super effective damage; fire covers Frosmoth's body.
"Frosmoth's burned!" said Clyde. Frosmoth flinches in pain from its burn and it loses stamina.
"Frosmoth, Bug Buzz!" said Melony. Frosmoth lets out a loud buzz and releases soundwaves from its body and it hits Dusknoir, damaging him, and weakening his special defense.
"Dusknoir, Hex." said Lucy. Dusknoir's eye glows purple; a black sphere of energy with a red eye in the middle of it forms above Dusknoir. Dark blue energy rings comes out of the eye and they hit Dusknoir, doing more damage than it normally would due to Frosmoth having a status condition; Frosmoth falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Frosmoth is unable to battle. Dusknoir wins the match." said the official.
"Lucy's Dusknoir has defeated Melony's Frosmoth; what Pokemon will she bring out next?" asked the official.
"That was great!" said Lincoln.
"Go, Lucy!" said Ronnie Anne.
"You can totes do it!" said Leni. Melony returns Frosmoth to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Frosmoth." said Melony. She puts Frosmoth's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Darmanitan, go!" She throws Darmanitan's pokeball and releases it.
"Melony's next Pokemon is her Darmanitan." said the announcer.
"Darmanitan, use Icicle Crash!" said Melony. Darmanitan releases a wind with sparkling blue snow in it into the air above Dusknoir; icicles falls from above and they land on him, dealing damage, and making him flinch. "Now use Ice Punch!" Darmanitan jumps at Dusknoir while light blue energy surrounds its fist and it punches Dusknoir, dealing damage.
"Dusknoir, Fire Punch." said Lucy. Dusknoir floats towards Darmanitan while fire surrounded his fist and he punches Darmanitan, dealing super effective damage. Darmanitan suddenly transforms into his Zen Mode form.
"Darmanitan, use Fire Fang!" said Melony. Darmanitan leaps at Dusknoir while fire surrounded the mouth on the lower part of its body and it bites Dusknoir, dealing damage; fire surrounds Dusknoir's body.
"Oh man, now Dusknoir's burned." said Luna.
"Dusknoir, Shadow Punch." said Lucy. Dusknoir flies towards Darmanitan while a shadowy aura surrounds his fist and punches Darmanitan with it, but doing much damage due to burn weakening Dusknoir's attack strength.
"Now use Ice Fang!" said Melony. Darmanitan leaps at Dusknoir while ice surrounded its teeth and it bites Dusknoir; he falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Dusknoir is unable to battle. Melony wins the match." said the official.
"Melony's Darmanitan has beaten Lucy's Dusknoir; what will Lucy do now?" asked the announcer. Back at the Loud house.
"Oh, my poor little girl!" cried Lynn Sr.
"Don't worry; she can still do this around." said Lynn Jr.
"We just have to believe in her." said Luan. Back at Circhester Stadium, Lucy returns Dusknoir to his pokeball.
"You take a long rest, but not an eternal one." said Lucy. She puts Dusknoir's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Jellicent, go." She tosses Jellicent's pokeball and releases her.
"Lucy's next Pokemon is a Jellicent." said the announcer.
"Jellicent, Rain Dance." said Lucy. Jellicant becomes surrounded by light blue energy; dark clouds form above the arena and it begins to rain.
"Darmanitan, use Bite!" said Melony. Darmanitan jumps at Jellicent and bites her, dealing super effective damage.
"Jellicent, Water Pulse." said Lucy. Jellicant forms a ball of blue water between her tentacles and launches it at Darmanitan, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage; Darmanitan begins stumbling around.
"Darmanitan's confused." said Lincoln.
"Darmanitan, use Bite!" said Melony. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of it and it slams itself onto the field, damaging itself.
"Jellicent, Brine." said Lucy. Jellicent releases a powerful stream of water from her mouth and it hits Darmanitan, dealing massive damage, and knocking it out.
"Darmanitan is unable to battle. Jellicent wins the match." said the official.
"Lucy's Jellicent has beaten Melony's Darmanitan, bringing Melony down to two Pokemon." said the announcer.
"You're doing great, Lucy!" said Lana.
"Keep it up!" said Sam. The rain from Jellicent's Rain Dance stopped.
"Looks like Rain Dance wore off." said Clyde. Melony returns Darmanitan to its pokeball.
"You did well, Darmanitan." said Melony. She puts Darmanitan's pokeball away and pulls out another. "Eiscue, go!" She tosses Eiscue's pokeball and releases it.
"Melony's third Pokemon is her Eiscue." said the announcer.
"Jellicent, Shadow Ball." said Lucy. Jellicent forms a ball of black energy between her tentacles and launches it at Eiscue, hitting it, and damaging it, as well as weakening its special defense. "Your Eiscue's Ice Face ability doesn't protect it from special attacks."
"I see you found a weakness in the Ice Face ability." said Melony. "Well, let's see if Jellicent has anything that'll protect her from this; Eiscue, use Freeze-Dry!" Eiscue releases a gust of cold air from its mouth and it hits Jellicent, dealing super effective damage.
"Jellicent, use Night Shade." said Lucy. Jellicent releases multiple rings of red energy from her body and they hit Eiscue, damaging it.
"Eiscue, Freeze-Dry!" said Melony. Eiscue releases another gust of cold air from its mouth and it hits Jellicent, dealing super effective damage.
"Jellicent, Hex." said Lucy. Jellicent forms a ball of black energy with a red eye in the middle of it; dark blue rings are released from the eye and they hit Eiscue, knocking it out.
"Eiscue is unable to battle. Jellicent wins the match." said the official.
"Lucy's Jellicent has beaten Melony's Eiscue; now she has only one Pokemon left." said the announcer. Back at the Loud house.
"That was awesome!" said Simon Sharp.
"She's doing great." said Howard McBride.
"She just needs to beat Melony's last Pokemon." said Lisa.
"And sh-she'll wi-i-in!" cried Lynn Sr. Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony returns Eiscue to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Eiscue." said Melony. She puts Eiscue's pokeball and pulls out another. "You're doing well so far, Lucy; but you still have one more Pokemon to beat. Lapras, go!" She tosses Lapras' pokeball and releases it.
"Melony's final Pokemon is her Lapras." said the announcer. Melony then returns her Lapras to its pokeball and enlarges it with a Dynamax Band she was wearing. She throws it and releases Lapras, now Gigantimaxed. "And Melony has Gigantimaxed her Lapras."
"Lapras, Max Hailstorm!" said Melony. Lapras lets out a loud cry and large hail falls from the sky and land on Jellicent, dealing enough damage to knock her out. Hail began falling from the sky.
"Jellicent is unable to battle. Lapras wins the match." said the official.
"Melony's Lapras has beaten Lucy's Jellicent; what will Lucy bring out next?" asked the announcer. Back at the Loud house.
"No! Lucy!" cried Lynn Sr.
"Relax, Dad; Lucy literally has two Pokemon left." said Lori.
"She can still turn this around." said Luan.
"Go, Wucy!" cheered Lily. Lynn Sr wipes his eyes with his sleeve. Back at Circhester Stadium, Lucy returns Jellicent to her pokeball.
"You were great, Jellicent." said Lucy. She puts Jellicent's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Gengar, go." She tosses Gengar's pokeball and releases her.
"Lucy's third Poekmon is her Gengar." said the announcer. Lucy returns Gengar to her pokeball and enlarges it with her Dynamax Band; she tosses it, releasing her Gengar again, only Gigantimaxed. "Lucy has Gigantimaxed her Gengar; it's a battle between two Gigantimaxed Pokemon."
"Gengar, G-Max Terror." said Lucy. Gengar summons ghostly furniture and launches them at Lapras, hitting it, and dealing damage, as well as making an image of a Gigantimaxed Gengar appear below Lapras.
"Lapras, Max Geyser!" said Melony. Lapras releases a stream of water from her mouth and it hits Gengar, dealing super effective damage; it begins to rain in the arena.
"Now Lapras' water attacks will be much stronger now." said Lincoln.
"At least the hail's gone." said Lola.
"Gengar, Max Darkness." said Lucy. Gengar fires streams of black energy from her hands and they hit Lapras, dealing damage, and weakening its special defense.
"Lapras, Max Hailstorm!" said Melony. Lapras lets out a yell and large hail fall onto her, dealing damage. The rain stops and hail takes its place; hail falls onto Gengar, dealing more damage. Lapras suddenly returns to its regular size and form.
"Looks like Lapras Gigantimax form wore off." said Clyde.
"Gengar, Max Phantasm." said Lucy. Gengar summons ghostly furniture and launches them at Lapras, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Lapras is unable to battle. Gengar wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Lucy Loud." said the official.
"It's over! Lucy Loud's Gengar has defeated Melony's Lapras and earning Lucy the victory!" said the announcer.
"Lucy did it!" said Lincoln.
"All right, Luce!" said Luna.
"She was great!" said Lola. Back at the Loud house, everyone was cheering for Lucy's victory.
"Way, Wucy!" cheered Lucy.
"She won!" cheered Lynn Jr.
"I'm so-so, proud of her-errrr!" cried Lynn Sr. Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony returns Lapras to her pokeball.
"You did all you could, Lapras; I'm proud of you." said Melony. She puts Lapras' pokeball away and walks to Lucy who walked to Gengar after she returned to her regular form. "You trained your Pokemon well, Lucy."
"Thanks." replied Lucy. Melony holds out an Ice Badge.
"For your victory here, I present you with the Ice Badge." said Melony. Lucy takes the Ice Badge, along with pokedollars.
At the stadium lobby, Lucy was being congratulated by her siblings and friends.
"You were totes amazing, Lucy." said Leni.
"We're so proud of you, sis." said Luna. A staff member walks to the group.
"Which of you will be taking the Gym Test next?" asked the staff member.
"I will." said Luna, stepping forward.
"When you're ready, you may go through those doors." said the staff member. Luna runs to the changing room; minutes later, she steps out of it, now in her gym challenger uniform and walked towards the doors leading into the Test Area.
Lola and Lucy have beaten Melony and earning their Ice Badges. Will Luna be able to do the same? Wait and find out.
