"This is pretty suspicious" Tails said staring at the huge blue screen in the base's computer room.

"The what? If there's nothing, no files, no coordinates..." Rouge replied

"That's what's suspicious" Tails made a thoughtful gesture "All this technology and not one piece of data? Eggman, I think by erasing the tracks you've created new ones"

Sonic looked at the screen

"So Eggman erased everything that was there?" said the hedgehog.

"I think so, Eggman must have erased all data that was on these computers, it doesn't make sense that in and of itself they had nothing at all" Said Tails typing "I'm sure in a moment I can access the erased files."

Tails began typing rapidly, his gaze was fixed on the huge blue screen, his fingers were speeding over the keyboard as he tried to retrieve the deleted files.

Rouge crossed her arms and sighed "I hope it's worth it, little fox. If Eggman deleted everything, he may have used some advanced security system."

Sonic pointed a thumb at Tails "Well, if anyone can do it, it's Tails."

Suddenly, the screen flashed, and strings of code began to appear.

"Got it!" exclaimed Tails. "Eggman has permanently erased a lot of things, but there's data I can still recover."

"Take that!" said Sonic "What do they say?"

"Hmm... This is another Death Egg! He's called it Mega Death Egg It looks much bigger than the previous ones!" Said Tails "And it's listed as a completed project How is that possible?"

"Eggman needs to learn to innovate, I don't know how many times he's built and rebuilt that metal egg" Sonic said looking sideways.

"So it's a completed project huh?" Said Rouge approaching Tails "Well I for one haven't seen any mustachioed bases in space lately."

"That's what's strange to me, I'm looking... but there doesn't seem to be much more information to be gleaned" Said Tails looking intently at the screen

"And that?" pointed out Sonic "I think you skipped a part, here, in the features of the Mega Death Egg"

"That's true, almost all of the text was encrypted and I hadn't even noticed..." Tails narrowed his eyes "I see... The Mega Death Egg has a cloaking mechanism..."

"That makes all this make more sense" Rouge said "The Mega Death Egg has been there all this time and we hadn't noticed it!"

"Now I just have to find the coordinates and..." Tails began to say as he typed.

Suddenly, the huge screen flashed again and a red alert with the Eggman symbol appeared on the screen.

"Intrusion detected. Security protocols activated."

Then the mainframe suddenly shut down.

"Damn it! It won't turn on anymore..." Said Tails

"Hey, isn't this the most mind-blowing security protocol this Doctor has ever devised" Sonic said, Tails looked at him with a frown "What? Normally when I accidentally activate one of his security protocols, or set off alarms or some such thing badniks, fire and explosions come out" Said the hedgehog with a shrug "This in comparison wasn't so bad."

Suddenly Silver called over the intercom to Sonic. Silver, Espio and Shadow had stayed outside, near the Amethyst of Reverse Chaos.

"...Hey, Sonic I didn't know whether to call you or not but..." Started to say the white hedgehog

"What's up?" Sonic said holding his hand to his ear, where he had the intercom, and moving away from Rouge and Tails who were trying to see if they could turn on the computer

"Well... soon after you guys got into the computer room Shadow has shot off following Metal's trail" Explained Silver "Saying something about making him pay."

"Oh man, this Shadow..." Sonic replied holding his hand to his face and turning off the intercom "Hey Tails, Metal Amethyst has gone north right?"

"Metal Amethyst?" asked Tails.

"Well, since we know that thing isn't Metal Sonic anymore I had thought I'd call it that" Sonic replied.

"I guess since it's good enough for us as a temporary name for the time being" Said Tails "And yes, it did go north why?"

"Well..." Sonic began to stretch "I'll be brief, a pissed off hedgehog with a desire for revenge is chasing a robot with powers... And I don't have time to waste!" the supersonic hedgehog bolted for the door.

"Well, I'm going to call Omega" Rouge just said.

"Yes, and I'm going to see if I can get the coordinates of the base, it's useless to know that it's camouflaged if we don't know where it is".

(In the Egg Carrier MK II...)

"Look how those creatures have left you!" Doctor Eggman exclaimed cursing "My ultimate creation... How dare they!"

"[BZZT] No-it doesn't matter, the first thing is [BZZT] to get on with the plan I-I-I'll be repaired when we-e get to the M-Mega Death Egg" Said Metal Amethyst, Metal Sonic still for the doctor, having slurred speech from the blows of the recent fight

"Of course, Sonic and his friends haven't the slightest idea what they're in for" Laughted the Doctor.

They both stepped onto a platform, which glowed yellow and began to ascend, before long they were on the bridge of the large ship. The sight did not disappoint, a long and imposing red ship with yellow accents, it had a runway and sides and the top was armed with cannons. To top it off six powerful jets forming a hexagon gave the Egg Carrier MK II its thrust.

"Let's set a course for the base at once, and from there..." Eggman raised his arms "I will begin my plan for inevitable world domination! Sonic himself won't know how to react when a Death Egg twice as big suddenly appears, unleashing troops and troops upon the planet " Eggman laughed ominously and then pointed energetically at Metal Amethyst "And that's when you'll take action and use your power to seize theirs" The Doctor had no idea what Metal Amethyst had already been doing behind his back

"Of course... master" Metal replied with an unpleasant tone as he uttered the word 'master' but Eggman was so excited that he didn't even notice, in fact, he almost didn't hear it "Soon the empire will find a dawn..."

The Egg Carrier MK II began to start the engines in the distance from a cliff Shadow watched the ship.

"Phew... There you are Shadow!" Sonic said slowing to a stop

"Ntch..." Said Shadow looking over his shoulder at Sonic "What a pain you are, I should have known someone would follow me, and of course of all people that someone had to be you."

"Well you know, I rarely disappoint" Sonic said winking "I gather that ship is Eggman right?"

"It's most likely" Shadow said in a serious tone of voice as he wrapped himself in orange lightning and shot off towards the front 'Don't follow me' He said as he fell down.

"... Like I'm going to listen to him, I bet that Egg Carrier is going straight for the Mega Death Egg" Sonic said 'This is homework for the nosiest hedgehog in all of Green Hill' Sonic wrapped himself in blue lightning and followed Shadow's path, they were both heading towards the Egg Carrier MK II.

(Meanwhile in the computer room at Red Mountain Base)

"Good, I've done it!" Tails said excitedly "Good thing I always carry my PAD with me!"

Tails had used his PAD to download as much information from the computers memory as possible

"Well done Tails!" Said Silver "Are the coordinates of the Mega Death Egg in?"

"Let's see... Yes! but they are in a code, this will take me some time but it's better than nothing" Replied Tails.

After a few minutes Tails already had the coordinates and decided to call Sonic.

"YES?" asked Sonic over the intercom shouting.

"Sonic? What are you yelling for?" Tails asked quizzically.

"Oh, well..." Sonic and Shadow were aboard the Egg Carrier MK II which at that moment was taking off causing a lot of noise "It's hard to explain, in short, Eggman has created an Egg Carrier and we think he's headed for the Mega Death Egg so we've hopped on so we won't lose track of him at least"

"Tell them not to come" Shadow said to Sonic.

"Shadow says get the coordinates out and let's meet up at the Mega Death Egg all together to give Metal Amethyst his due as a real team" Sonic said to Tails.

"Sometimes you transcend the levels of how much I can get to hate a thing" Shadow said coldly to which Sonic let out a chuckle.

"No problem, I already got them" Said Tails with a tone of pride.

"I couldn't expect anything less buddy!" replied Sonic "Well, the two of us have to find a way to get on this ship before we leave the atmosphere, you guys find a ship and we'll meet you there" Sonic hung up.

Tails explained to the rest what he had talked to Sonic about.

"Well this place seemed to be transporting materials to the space base, surely we can use one of these ships and follow your coordinates to the Mega Death Egg" Espio said.

"Let's get to it!" Said Silver

The group left the computer room and started looking for a good ship that could transport them to the Mega Death Egg. Meanwhile in the Egg Carrier MK II Metal Amethyts each time saw his own plan more and more completed almost without having to do anything. And without suspecting that between curses and jokes two hedgehogs had ripped a panel off a ventilation duct to get inside the ship.
