Covid is kicking my ass. I'm now out of work until Feb 5. Which means DnD is canceled AGAIN!
FUCK!
.
.
T4ndoris: I still can't your 'Firebreather bad dragon and Kitsu degenerate handholding weren't enough, so you had to add a knot.'
For those who are curious, I made an Overlord fic with a werewolf OC.
Fernizer: Close, it's Darwin Award.
And I like to think Kitsu would carve that into Sophia's tombstone when she dies.
(Here lies the bitch herself, by the power granted to me, by me, I hereby award you this tombstone as your Darwin Award trophy.)
Redburndragon: Yes.
To everything you said.
DancingLeaf: Mwahahahaha!
Anyway, it actually takes A LOT for a second trigger. And more specifically, a similar situation to the trigger event, but worse. Keep in mind, in canon, Brian was tortured and experimented on. Had his organs ripped out while still attached, put in bags to keep them clean and still functioning, then was nailed to a crucifix. And had nervous system yanked out, extended, and put out all over the room so that anyone who tried to help him would kill him from the pain alone. ALL WHILE CONSCIOUS!
Even then! He didn't have his second trigger until he was forced to watch as Bonesaw was about to do the same to Taylor.
And you're right. But more than that, Missy is rational. She'd recognize, after a bit of thought, that it's not her fault Kitsu went off. Kitsu does what she wants. She's always known that.
Kaykaykaykayan: Okay, you're at an 8, we need you at a 4.
Grimnosh: It's been said before, but Miss Militia is the only Warrior parahuman who lacks a conflict drive.
Poor Steve, gone before his time.
I saw the mistake right after I posted. And the second one you mentioned, fixed it. My word document just didn't save it. I miss using pages. It was so much simpler.
You are the second person in the reviews (So far) to nominate Sophia for a Darwin Award.
As for where Crystal gets it from? You're about to find out.
RadChaos897: YOU MESSED UP THE LINE!
Any true fan knows it's Kono Dio da!
Only warning for this chapter. Prepare your clones. Though, you won't need as many.
The only memory I have that I keep thinking back to is when I was sixteen. I was walking to the locker room. And my Gym teacher said "Hi [Insert IRL Name]"
I had literally never had anyone just, say hi to me before. I just stood there for five minutes because I didn't know what to do. By the time I said "Hi." Back. He was already gone and out the gym doors.
ANYWAY! I was more going for a TF2 reference when Kitsu said "Cry some more!"
Gogmazios: YOU'RE BACK! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD! WELCOME BACK!
In response, Kitsu's relationship may have seemed to have gone fast, but that's just because Kitsu's love language is touch. And they both have attachment issues.
And, it's been so long. But, you're welcome.

Kitsu POV

"I begged you to stop!" Missy cries over the phone.
She's, less than happy with me. For what happened with the, yeah.
"And I didn't." I say. "She had it coming! You can't deny that."
"Violence isn't the answer!" Missy retorts. "I would've filed harassment; it'd be taken care of!"
"For a few months!" I counter. "If that! Then she'd be right back at it!"
"And there are proper channels for that!" Missy continues. "You can't just take things into your own hands like that!"
"Missy, we're heroes, taking things into our own hands is literally part of the job." I remind her.
"Not like this!" She says. "There were several ways you could've handled that!"
"Name, one, that would have a permanent effect." I counter. "Heck, name one that would have an immediate effect, or a meaningful one even."
…
"Exactly." I say.
"Just because you're right doesn't make what you did right." Missy says.
"I'm not sorry." I say.
"You could at least pretend to be!" Missy offers.
"I'm not going to lie to you like that." I say. "You mean too much to me for me to be that fake around you. I'd do it again."
…
…
"Missy?"
"I have work, I'll talk to you later." She says.
"Um, okay." I say uncertainly. A bit taken aback at her tone. "I love you."
"Love you too." She says.

I hope she isn't too mad. At least, not for long.

Missy "Vista" Biron POV
.
I have such a headache right now.
Sure, hearing the piece of shit Sophia get several new holes torn into her was satisfying. And I wish I could've heard more of it. But that's not the point!
I can't believe her! What she did was so wrong on so many levels! Morally, ethically, legally! Did she not stop to think how I would feel?! She could've been arrested! And I think we all know that if Kitsu was arrested then she'd be sent to the Birdcage for her power alone. Then I'd never see her again!
Even still.
As much as I know Kitsu is in the wrong here. And everyone can see she got off damn near Scott free. I can't bring myself to be actually mad at her. She stood up for me.
No one's done that except Dean and Vicky.
I just, can't bring myself to be mad at her.
That being said what she did was not okay!
"Vista, um, directions?" I hear Vergil ask over the comms, again.
"Get a GPS!" I say into the mic.

Kitsu POV
.
'I mean, she can't stay mad at me forever.' I think to myself. 'Right?'
As I'm thinking this and playing with Kratos. I hear Vicky walk down the hall. I expect her to just pass but she stops at my door.
I can recognize people by their footsteps. Vicky's are lighter and more, sporadic, if that makes sense. Like she can't decide if she wants to fly, walk, or run.
"It's open." I say before she knocks.
She opens the door and leans on the doorframe. Crossing her arms as she looks around my room.
"Damn, got a real, fantasy forest thing going on here huh?" She asks.
"Yeah." I say simply. "I like things that glow."
My room is now covered in modified plants. Heck, a bit ago I tore up the carpet and replaced it with moss. It's a soft blue green moss that's much softer and easier to clean.
In that I don't have to clean it. It cleans itself. So long as I don't get any hot sauce on it. It's fine. The moss does not like capsaicin.
"Mind if I borrow a few?" She asks, gesturing to the Stygian Bluebells I have in the corner.
"Standard rate is fifty five dollars before tax." I say as I turn Kratos onto his back.
"Forget it, I'll just ask Ames to make me some." She says.
She stands there a bit longer as I give Kratos his reward for flipping back over. A small slice of banana. He grabs it gingerly before placing it down and nibbling it up.
"Alright, spill." She finally says.
"What?" I ask without looking to her.
"Mom and dad won't say why you're grounded." She says.
"Oh, I put Shadow Stalker in the ICU." I say simply as I watch Kratos eat his banana slice.
'Ish sho cute!' I coo in my head. 'Look at you go! Om nom nom!'
"Wait, for real?" Vicky asks.
"She made Missy cry." I say with a shrug. "So I made her cry. Did you know it's possible to dislocate and shatter a knee? And still have it be two separate things on medical report?"
"Only if it's the meniscus that's shattered. Don't ask." Vicky says quickly before adding. "Damn, wish I'd been there to see it. Pay to see that bitch get her ass handed to her."
"Eh, at one point she was biting her own butt." I say, enjoying the positive interaction for once.
This is the longest genuine conversation me and Vicky have had that hasn't led to shouting.
"Damn, how'd you pull that off?" Vicky asks, almost sounding impressed. "Wait, she's not dead is she?"
"One." I say as I hold up a finger. "I broke like, four or five vertebrae's while folding her like a lawn chair. Two." I say and hold up another finger. "Sadly no, she's still alive. I healed her."
"Shame." She says with sigh.
"Aren't you a hero?" I ask as I take my eyes off of Kratos.
"I mean, I wouldn't put her in the morgue." Vicky says knowingly. "But I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to go after whoever did."
"Mn, yeah that's fair." I say as I bob my head in agreement.
"So if you had such a good time, why're you mopping about?" She asks.
"Missy is mad at me." I say as I lay my head back down on my hands. Staring at Kratos as he finishes his banana.
"Ah, gotcha. Want some advice?" Vicky offers.
I think about it for a solid minute.
'I mean, she would be the authority on making up.' I ponder. 'Couldn't hurt at least.'
"Sure." I say and turn my head to look at her, just as she's about to leave.
"Next time you see her, play up the cutesy act." She says. "And if you really want to go the extra mile? Flash some skin."
"I will not!" I say indignantly as I push up to glare at her. Bouncing the mattress and knocking Kratos over to the floor. "Kratos noooo!"
I catch him before it hits the floor. Calming my mini heart attack. I know it wouldn't hurt him. But would you willingly let your kid get a brick smashed against their head just because they're wearing a helmet?
…
On second thought don't answer that.
"I don't mean anything drastic." Vicky says. "I'm not saying sext her or anything, just, something distracting enough to take her mind off things. She likes the fur stripes right? Try that, not literally flash her."
'That, is actually. Not too bad of an idea.' I think to myself.
I mean, I have nothing else in mind. And the only people I can really ask are Wade, Vicky, Amy, Mom, Dad, Crystal and maybe Eric or Lyra.
Wade, has zero dating experience and will likely over analyze it and give me a play by sheet to memorize. Same with Amy and Eric, the no experience part. I'm trying to give Mom room to cool down, don't wanna upset her more and not be allowed to have Missy over. Knowing Crystal and how she handles her relationship, well, no. Just, no. Lyra? No, I don't need to explain why going to a girl with zero social for dating advice is bad. And Dad, he, he's.
I can't think of a good reason not to ask him for advice. Huh, guess he's my next target.
"That's, not a bad idea." I say finally as I take Kratos over to his new habitat. A wooden one made with obstacles he can climb and interact with to alleviate his boredom.
"Good, now." Vicky says. "Maybe you can help me as a thank you?"
And just when I thought we were having a genuine moment.
I turn to stare at her plainly.
"Ask me after your advice works." I say and go back to my bed. Pulling out my phone and opening Youtube.
"Oh come on!" Vicky whines. "It's super quick, you can do it right here even! Promise!"
"Fine, I'll at least hear you out." I say and roll to my side to face her.
"Perfect!" She says and floats over to crouch in front of me. "Can you move some of my stomach flab to my chest? And while you're at it can you do something to ease the back pain?"
"Don't you have super strength?" I ask. "And why? You look fine."
"Doesn't mean I can't look better." She says as she puts a hand to her hip. "And it doesn't matter how strong you are, constantly keeping your back straight with the top weight pulling it forward gets tiring. You'll realize that soon enough. FYI, I'd get your outfits adjusted soon. Your starting to strain your tops. I mean, I don't judge, but."
"Is it that noticeable!?" I ask as I bring my arms up to cover my chest in embarrassment.
I knew I was growing. But I didn't think I was growing that fast! Who knows what kind of creeps have been staring!
Aside from Missy. She doesn't count. She's allowed to stare.
"Pfft! No, no I'm just fucking with you." Vicky laughs. "I couldn't resist."
"That's not funny!"
.

-3pm-
.
.
Dad's done with the lawn. And with his shower from yard work. He's basically a tradwife and husband. Aside from cooking, which he somehow sucks at worse than Mom does. Because apparently, aside from me, this entire family's culinary competence caps out at a plate of grilled cheese and tomato soup. Collectively.
Anyway, he's done. And sitting in his recliner relaxing after a day of chores.
So peaceful and relaxed.
"Dad!" I say as I jump over the arm of the chair and into his lap.
"Oof!" He groans. "Hey kiddo, can it wait?"
"What makes you think I want something?" I ask.
"Because you waited until I was done with literally anything that could distract me?" He offers with a raised brow.
I just stare at him while I process that information.
"I need advice." I say.
"Apologize to her." He says right away.
"What?" I ask in complete and utter bewilderment. "How do you, you didn't even hear what it was about!"
"Sorry, automatic response." He says as he readjusts himself in his seat to better hold me. "Well, you got me for two hours. What is it?"
"I think Missy is upset with me." I say.
He stares back at me for a little bit before responding.
"My earlier advice still applies." He says.
"But I'm not sorry." I say.
"Well, sometimes you gotta say it. Even when you're not." He says cooly.
"That's stupid." I say with a frown. "Anything else?"
"Waiting it out?" He offers.
"Next." I say.
"Gifts are good option so long as it's something with thought put behind it." He says. "Give her something she likes and tell her you don't want her to be upset with you."
'Fluffy Kitsu it is.' I tell myself.
"Now you see, that's good advice." I say and lean against him. "Now, I demand cuddles."
He brings his arm around and holds me against him as I nuzzle into his side.
"Now that I have you trapped." He says slowly in a dark tone.
'Oh no.' I think with dread at what's coming.
"We can talk about what happened earlier today."
'Oh thank god.' I mentally sigh in relief. 'I thought he was going to tickle me.'
"What's there to talk about?" I ask.
"How about you absolutely brutalizing a girl?" He offers up.
"Meh, she had it coming." I say with a shrug. "But if you want I can give you the details."
"Kitsu, you can't brutalize people." He says. "We literally had this whole thing with Vicky over this."
"Hey, unlike her, I can clean up my messes." I say with a huff as I cross my arms.
"Again, not the point." He says. "You can't go off losing your temper like that when someone upsets you."
"Oh I assure you, I was very calm." I say honestly. "I just couldn't have some skank going around thinking it was okay to make my Missy cry."
"Language!" He says. "And again, that's not okay."
"It turned out pretty okay." I say smugly.
"You're banned from the Rig, grounded for a month, and Missy is upset with you." He points out.
…
Fuck, he's right.
"Well when you use logic against me." I say with a frown.
"Well what am I suppose to use?" He asks with a smirk.
"Nonsense of course." I say with a roll of my eyes. "That way I can beat you with experience."
"Sure, that way- hey don't distract me!" He accuses.
'So close!'

Carol "Brandish" Dallon POV
.
I step into the passenger seat and set my bags down. Untying my hair band and letting myself relax after the day.
"How's work?" Mark asks.
"New case." I say as I relax. "It's high paying, but I can't talk about."
"Gotcha." He says easily.
"How's the resident troublemaker?" I ask, genuinely curious as to how she's been behaving.
"Which one?" He asks with a smirk. "The short one? Or the tall one?"
"The one who had something happen recently you sarcastic ass." I say with a glare.
"And how do you know something didn't happen with the other?" He asks after a chuckle.
"Mark, I'm not in the mood." I say with a sigh. "Between Kitsu, the ferry, work. I don't need to be worrying about anything else."
"So it's Kitsu you're asking about." He says with another smirk.
"Mm hm, hey Mark, can you pull over real quick?" I ask sweetly.
"Why?" He asks.
"Nothing too important." I continue. "I just don't want to risk a crash, so having you pull over before I kick your ass is just the responsible thing to do."
"But if you do that, who'll get you home?" He asks. "In case you forgot, I'm the one with a drivers license."
"Hmm, I suppose you're right." I concede. "I guess I'll just have to wait until we're home."
"Don't threaten me with a good time." He says with a goofy eyebrow wiggle.
"Oh? We in that kind of playful mood?" I ask with a smirk. "I suppose I have some stress I need to work off. Always wanted to try using a whip."
He knows I'm not joking. If I won our bet on the type of suit Kitsu ordered then we would've spent that motel knight with him tied to the bed.
"I'm good!" He says quickly. "You wanted to know about Kitsu? She's fine, just been a bit mopey since Missy is upset with her."
A shame.
"Well, at least there's that." I say. "What about Amy and Vicky?"
"Amy got back from the hospital a bit ago." Mark says as we turn into the suburbs. "Vicky has been hanging out with Kitsu."
"Really?" I ask, more than a little surprised. And a bit suspicious.
"Yeah, don't know why, or what about."

Victoria "Glory Girl" Dallon POV
.
'Looking good!' I think to myself as I stare into the mirror in my room. 'But.'
"Could you move a bit to my butt?" I ask. "I don't want it to be super obvious. I want it to look natural."
"Seriously?" Kitsu asks. "We've been at this for thirty minutes already!"
"Hey, you can't rush perfection." I say. "Besides, a little more junk in the trunk might be just what I need."
"And what is that suppose to mean?" Kitsu asks.
"Just wanna make sure Dean has good handles to grip onto." I tease.
"TMI." Amy says from the bed.
She's here for when Kitsu is done. Make sure she didn't mess anything up. Because for some, unfathomable reason, she's okay with others modifying people. She just won't do it herself unless it's medical.
"I regret asking." Kitsu says flatly, her ears falling flat to the sides as her shoulders slump.
"You two need to lighten up." I say jovially. "Get out there and get laid, not you, you're too young."
"Unlike you, some people have social boundaries." Amy says.
"What she said." Kitsu adds. "Kinda, I'm cool with jokes. But I don't need to know about your preferences, activities or favorite positions. Especially with someone I have to interact with on a regular basis."
"Missionary and reverse cowgirl." I say with a grin. "Anything chest to chest really."
"What did I just say?!" Kitsu yells with a massive blush as her tail hikes straight up.
"I'm going back to my room." Amy says. "Let me know when you're done."
"Prudes." I say with a role of my eyes.
It's always fun teasing Ames, now that I know Kitsu is just as susceptible? My target range just doubled.

Carol "Brandish" Dallon POV
.
"But as long as they're getting along." Mark finishes.
"Yeah, I suppose you're right." I say.
I still don't like it. They usually treat each other with a generally dislike. Now that I think about it. Me and Sarah were the same way before, well before we were kidnapped.
The rest of the ride was quiet until we got to the house. Stepping out, I look to Mark who looks back at me.
"You're turn." I say.
"Alright." He says without resistance.
He walks past me and to the door. I see him tense as he prepares for the inevitable.
Only it doesn't happen.
He walks in and I dread the oncoming missile. Only as I step in. It doesn't come.
"Okay, that's weird." I say out loud.
"Yeah, maybe she's asleep?" He offers.
"Maybe." I say as I head to our room. "I'm getting out of this monkey suit. You know where I'll be."
"Mind if I join?" He teases as he follows.
"You can, just don't expect anything to happen." I say as we pass her room.
Door's closed. So she's either asleep or somewhere else.
"I mean, there's a chance." He says. "And even if there isn't. I'll still get a show out of it."
It's nice to know he still finds me attractive. And I don't mean that sarcastically. I mean it literally. With his good looks that he's kept over the last decade and a half, he could do a lot better.
Physically at least. I've seen some of his fans. I'm not so insecure to not admit that he has a following of young adult girls who are more attractive than me.
Not that I think he'd ever do anything. He's always at home. Takes his meds. And when he does take his meds he needs a different pill to get it up. And that tends to make him last. To say nothing of the GPS tracker in his phone.
Don't look at me like that! We all have one in our phones. Even Kitsu got one installed. We're heroes. It's a safety thing.
Basically I have no fear of him cheating, because there'd be way too many signs. And, while I'm not proud of it, I'll admit, his dependence on me is one of the reasons I love and married him.
"Well, in that case, I don't mind putting on a little show for you." I say as we reach our room. "But nothing else mister! Don't get your hopes up."
"No promises." He says with that damnable smirk!
Fuck I love that smirk of his and the smug jackass that he is knows it!
.
.
After getting dressed and stepping out with Mark. Who's smug ass is still smiling.
He managed to get a few feels in.
"Wipe that grin off your face." I say without looking to him.
"How do you know I'm grinning?" He asks smugly.
"I can hear it." I say and turn around to catch him.
Only to see his back walk into me. Smug jackass was walking backwards.
"Whoa!" He says as he bumps into me.
"Good thing you don't drive like how you walk." I call him out.
"Yeah, well." He tries before turning around. "I got nothing."
"Oh you have a lot, of things."I say as I wrap my arms around him in a hug. "It's just that brains isn't one of those things."
"Eh, I have you for that." He says.
"And don't you ever forget it." I say with a smirk.
"Now who's the one with a smirk?" He says as he leans his forehead to mine.
"Hmm, Thursday." I say after a bit.
"Hmm?" He hums in question.
"Thursday, if she isn't at the hospital, we are sending Kitsu to Sarah's and renting a motel." I say.
"Um, yes ma'am!" He says excitedly with an awkward smile. And I imagine with how close we are I'd feel more evidence of his excitement.
Heh, thirty five years old and I still got it.
"Now if you'll excuse me." I say as we separate. "I don't smell anything cooking so Kitsu hasn't started anything. I need to start dinner. And we still haven't found her."
"She's staring at us from the end of the hall." Mark says.
I quickly turn around to see the smallest fleck of gold blonde hair, or fur. Disappear around the edge of the corner.
"She thinks she's sneaky." Mark says with a chuckle.
.
.
-7pm-
.
.
Kitsu's been, quiet all night. Not surprising given recent events. But it's still unlike her to be silent unless she's sleeping or sneaking around.
She didn't even complain about my cooking and beg for pizza.
Mark thinks she's just wary around me over what happened earlier. I'm not so sure of that, maybe Vicky has some insight into the matter. They did spend a bit of time together today according to Mark.
"Hey Vicky." I say as I knock on her open door.
"Hmm?" She hums as she looks up from her phone. Kicking her feet over to sit up. "Sure, what's up?"
"I was just wondering what you and Kitsu were up to today." I say. "You two normally don't get along."
"Oh that?" She says as she lays back down. "Just talking and hanging out. I asked what she did to get grounded and we sort of went from there."
"Yeah, about that." I say, satisfying a quick curiosity. "Do you know the girl she, broke?"
"Pfft, I wish I didn't." Vicky scoffs, but doesn't offer more.
Okay, that's telling. When Vicky doesn't like someone. She usually goes on and on when they're brought up. If she really doesn't like them? The exact opposite. She tries to avoid mentioning them.
"Is she that bad?" I ask.
"Mom, I'm genuinely surprised no one's put her through a wall before Kitsu." She says.
"What makes her so, agitating?" I ask.
It doesn't take a lot to get Vicky to dislike you. But it does take a lot to get her to hate you.
"We don't have enough time in the day." Vicky says. "But if you want to know what got Kitsu to go off on her. Missy's parents are getting a divorce and Sophi- Shadow Stalker, found out. And wouldn't stop antagonizing her, saying it's her fault and that the only reason she's dating Kitsu is because she couldn't get Dean to date her. BS like that."
"How do you know all that?" I ask. Not willing to trust gossip and rumors.
"Got it straight from the source." She says and holds up her phone. "Me and Little V text."
"Huh." Is all I can say to that. "I got sidetracked, do you know why Kitsu is avoiding me?"
"Yeah. She doesn't want to upset you so that you'll agree to Missy coming over when she wants."
"Traitor!" I hear from across the house.
It is so easy to forget that we have a living sonar situated in the middle of the house.
"Well, thanks." I say as I push off the door frame. "Before I go, have you heard anything from Dean about the PRT's side of things regarding, everything that happened this morning?"
"Nope." She says, popping the p at the end. "Dean was off today. Otherwise he'd have tried to calm Kitsu down."
"Mrm, thanks anyway." I say as leave. Getting a thumbs up from her before I go.
I make my way to Kitsu's room. Door closed. But I know for a fact she isn't asleep. Not unless she can knock herself out in less than a minute.
Thinking about that, she might actually be capable of that.
I knock on the door anyway.
"The door is booby trapped!" I hear.
"If it is then you're losing it." I say seriously.
…
"Okay it's not." She says.
I open the door to her grotto as I've come to mentally refer to it as. All it's missing is a pond or mini waterfall.
She's on her bed. Holding Mr. Star as she would her tail. With that oversized bug on her head.
"Okay, ask." I say as I cross my arms.
"Ask what?" She tries.
"I'm not playing that game." I say. "I've already done it once with Mark today."
"Mrm, can I still have Missy over?" She asks.
"So long as you promise to behave. Then yes." I say.
"Wait really?" She asks, her head perking up as the bug gets bounced onto the bed.
"Yes, now, knock it off with the hiding." I say. "It makes me feel like you're scheming something."
I'm mostly allowing it for Missy. Kid's parents are splitting up and this all happens? She doesn't deserve that.
"Deal!"

Missy "Vista" Biron POV
.
I decided that I'll spend today with Kitsu. A day and a half of the cold shoulder is enough. She was just looking out for me. As misguided, violent, and potentially criminal as it was.
So, I'm surprising her! I have a sandwich from Subway for her and me.
So it's with that thought that I get to the door that has a paper plaque taped to it with Kitsu's name scribbled in crayon on it.
They have a badge maker and a laminator here in the hospital. Kitsu just insisted on this because she thought it was funnier this way.
I don't bother knocking. It'll ruin the surprise.
I open the door to Kitsu in front of her swivel chair. Stretching up in the best way as her chest and rear are puffed. Her arms above her head as she groans.
And that outfit! Somewhere between a sexy nurse and a cheerleader outfit. Short sleeve collared shirt and with a pencil skirt. She even has one of the head things with a cross on it.
"It's lunchtime." Kitsu says through a groan. "Come back la- Missy!"
She immediately slams into me at a blinding speed. Pressing herself to me as much as she can. Anymore and I'd be wearing her.
"And how's my snuggle bug?" I ask as I hug her back.
"You're not mad at me?" She asks, looking up to me with thoes gorgeous eyes. Her chin on my breastplate.
"Oh I was, very much so." I say sweetly. Enjoying the way her ears hold down at my words. "Kinda still am."
And she ducks her head down further. Hiding half her face against my chest.
"But I can't stay mad at my little snuggle bug!" I say and squeeze her tight as her tail wags.
"Oh thank goodness." She sighs into my breastplate. "Here I thought I'd need to break out the fur to get you to talk to me."
What?
"Wait what?" I say as I look down to her.
"Oh, um. Nothing." She says with a look that screams, 'Oh shit I said that out loud.'
I should know. I've had that look on me enough times.
"No no." I say as I warp the door to close itself. "I heard you loud and clear. You said something about fur."
"Oh, um. Just that, Vicky said, I should maybe, show off my fur." She blushes. "If you kept, not talking to me."
'I was, THIS CLOSE, to fluffy Kitsu?!' I rage internally in anguish. 'Side note, get Vicky those chocolates she likes for being a bro.'
"Anyway!" Kitsu says as she disengages from me.
'No, come back!' I whine as she steps back.
"Whadya think?" She says as she twirls on one foot. Showing off her new outfit.
'I take it back, take your time.' I think as I see her in full.
"Amy owed me for cover the Case 53's, so I got a new outfit from her. I was think nurse meets office worker." Kitsu explains. "Does it make my butt look big?"
'Makes it look amazing.' I think as I stare at said bubbly roundness.
"Missy~" She says teasingly.
'If just getting slapped is the price to pay. I wouldn't mind another feel.' I think idly as I stare at the skirt clad squishiness. 'But it's not. She said no. No means no. She could've gotten a lot more upset last time. A light smack on the forehead was getting off easy.'
Still worth it.
And now she's resting her elbows on the patients bed. Back turned to me and swaying with her tail raised.
'That little minx is doing this on purpose!' I realize.
I walk over to the swivel chair and sit down. Ignoring the tease and opening my sandwich.
After my first bite. I get the desired result of a pouty Kitsu. Lips pursed and eyes furrowed as she softly glares at me.
I continue pretending to ignore her. The visor helping as it hides my eyes.
Soon enough. She marches over and plants herself in my lap. Moving the wrapper of my sandwich to the counter as she straddles me.
"Don't ignore me." She says with a pout.
I place the sandwich on the wrapper and snatch her up. Wrapping my arms around her waist tightly.
"Eep!" She squeaks as her face gains a blush.
"I wasn't ignoring you." I say with a smirk. "I was setting a trap. And I got my prey."
"Oh nuuu~" Kitsu says goofily as she quickly recovers from the shock. Putting a hand to her forehead as she feigns distress. "To think that I, the purest of maidens! Would fall victim to such a vile temptress."
It takes everything in me to not laugh at her antics.
"Oh, I'm the temptress?" I say. "I think you've got it in reverse."
"Oh? How so?" She says. "You're the one who lured me to your lap."
"You're the one who beauty made me." I say, trying to imitate her earlier grandeur. "With a voice so silken and eyes as glistening as the sea, to say nothing of your figure and the sin it inspires."
'Oh my god!' I cringe. 'What just came out of my mouth?!'
Though, it gets Kitsu to blush. So, good job me? I'm still not doing that again.
"Rmmm." Kitsu grumbles cutely as her ears splay back and her tail curls.
"Too much?" I ask.
"Little bit." She nods, though her blush doesn't fade.
"Now that that's out the way." I say as hold her and move her in my lap to get more comfortable. "How was your day?"
"Boring, better with you here." She says as she lays her head down on my shoulder. "I'm sorry I upset you."
"You should apologize to Sophia." I say as we nuzzle.
"I said I was sorry I upset you." She says. "Not for what I did."
She did say she wouldn't lie to me. So, I suppose this is the best I'll get.
"Hmm, fine." I concede before getting a devious idea. "Hey you know how you said that I'd get to squeeze your butt after six months?"
"I said I needed six months before I allowed any wandering hands." She corrects. "But yes."
"And three months was a few days ago." I point out with a smile. "What do I get for that?"
"Hmm, you get dates, compliments, kisses, cuddles, petting and brushing privileges, staring privileges, which I know you've been using." She lists off.
Guilty.
"What more could you want?" She asks. "I think that's more than enough."
"You can't blame a girl for wanting more, can you?" I say teasingly.
"I can and I will." She says.
Oh, she's being serious.
"Well, you said kissing privileges right?" I ask, getting another idea.
"Yes, very much so." She says excitedly, her ears perking up as her eyes sparkle with interest. "Feel free to take liberal use of them. Use it or lose it right? I think you should use it."
She's becoming predictable.
"Hmm, I'dunno." I say, feigning ignorance.
"Well, then I will." She says and leans forward for a kiss.
Now or never.
I run my tongue across her lips. Earning a soft eep and gasp of surprise.
Better to ask forgiveness than permission, right?
She pulls back with a massive blush. Eyes wide, ears splayed back and tail twitching.
"Well?" I tease. "You said to make liberal use of my kissing privileges."
"I, I did." She stutters cutely. "Just, warn a girl next time, okay?"
"Oh you are just too cute!" I say and pull her in for a hug. "So, do I have permission?"
"We, we can try it." She says shyly. "Just this once! I promise nothing for the future!"
"Deal!" I say and go back in.
Same as before, I run my tongue softly across her lips. And she parts her slowly. Going in I satisfy my long held curiosity and feel her teeth.
Aside from her top two front and bottom four front teeth. Hers a bit sharper than mine. With the canines being longer as well. And I notice something else.
She isn't reciprocating. She's just sitting there with her mouth slightly open.
So, I pull back.
"Was, was it that bad?" I ask, fearful of the answer.
"I, think that maybe, next time we try that." Kitsu says evasively. "We shouldn't wait until after one of us eats."
…
Oh.
"Oh, r-right." I say as I struggle to hide my mortification and humiliation. "So how was your day? Anything interesting happen?"
We sit here and talk about our day. Her telling me about the various Case 53's that've come in. Me telling her that doctor patient confidentiality is a thing. Her saying she's not a doctor and that she never said any names so even then she's not in trouble.
I tell her about how Sophia has been leaving me alone. Only really ever glaring at me when we're near each other. And about how Lyra's been putting in requests for more dogs.
Overall. A good lunch break.

Firebreather POV
.
I touch down at the front porch of Crystal's house. She said she wanted to try something today and that her parents wouldn't be home all day.
Which of course means she's got a new kink for me to learn about.
With a sigh. I prepare myself for an awkward talk. I feel that lately, she's just using me for my body. I mean, ever since her graduation she just, can't keep her hands to herself!
I liked it better when we were actually dating. When we would spend time together doing things that didn't involve us being naked. I mean, it's partially my fault as well. I have a hard time saying no.
I mean, what straight guy wouldn't say yes to a hot blonde ready to, I'll stop. You get the picture.
So, today I'm putting my foot down. And I'm prepared for all the awkwardness this talk is going to entail.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
In a few seconds. The door opens to reveal Neil.
Crystal's father.
"Hey kid." He says plainly. "We need to talk."
I take it back. There was an awkwardness I wasn't prepared for.
.
.
We're in the back yard. At the fire pit as it spews. Neil asked me to light it and he grabbed a cooler full of beer. And is currently on his second.
"So, Sarah asked me to give you the shovel talk." He says.
"Um, the what?" I ask.
"Basically the whole, 'Stay away from my daughter' or 'Hurt her and you'll be sorry' spiel." He explains.
"Oh." Is all I can say as he grabs another beer.
"Beer?" He offers.
"Um, I'm not sure if I'm old enough." I say.
"Kid, you're a hero, been living on your own for years, and from what I heard about you during the ferry? You're old enough." He says. "Yes or no?"
I, don't want to upset him. Is this a social thing? Will I upset him if I say no?
"Sure." I decide and take it.
If I don't like it. I'll just spit it out.
I twist the cap. Only for it to not budge.
"It's a pop cap, not a twist." He says. "Put your nail under the lip of the cap and flick up."
I do so. Putting a little more strength into it than before and watch the cap soar off with a pop.
"Um." I say awkwardly as we watch the cap fly off towards the house.
*Ting/Clack*
"I'll have Crystal get it later if I remember." He says.
We sit there for a bit. And I decide to awkwardly take a drink of the beer.
"Pfft!" I spit it out immediately. "Ah gawd! What is that?!"
It tastes like, piss and, fuck I don't know. Gasoline?!
"Pah hah haha ha!" Neil starts laughing. "Ah, I remember my first beer. Yeah, pretty much the same. Just cheap cold beer. Hell, better than my first beer. I snuck some from my dad's cooler and was so scared I hid it for a week before trying it. Let me tell you. Warm beer? It's a lot worse."
"Why do you drink it then?!" I ask as I try and get the taste out of my mouth.
"Eh, you get used to it." He says and takes another swig. "Pah, anyway. About that talk."
I freeze as I wait for it.
'Just, tough it out.' I tell myself.
"If Crystal or Sarah ask, just tell'em I threatened to test how fireproof you are or something." He says.
"Huh?" I ask numbly.
"Look, you kids aren't slick. I saw you flying out of Crystal's room during her graduation party, Sarah could hear you during the fourth of July, and just a few days ago? Yeah, we're not stupid."
'Oh god.' I think in utter humiliation.
"That being said. If Crystal is anything like her mother. Then I know for a fact that it's not you who's starting it." He says as he takes another swig.
I did not need to know that.
"Um. I mean." I try to find something to say.
"Don't." He says as he puts a hand up. "I don't need to know. I may be her dad. And as such I will always put my kids well being first. Always." He trails off before staring into the fire.
Taking another, longer swig. He continues.
"But she's an adult, what she does is her business. And I raised her well enough to trust that she can take care of herself." He finishes.
"Oh, um." I mumble.
"Just, not in the house?" Neil says. "Pinky may have moved to the Ferry station with the others, but Eric is still too young. And personally I don't want him traumatized or developing a complex."
"Complex?" I ask.
"Don't ask." He says with a shake of his head. "If you take anything away from this. It's do what you want, just do it on your own time, and at your own place."
"I live in the woods." I say.
"Ferry station's open to you." He says with a shrug. "You're a member of New Wave and the station was made for housing the recruits without living space."
"That was an option!?" I ask.
He stares at me for bit at my minor outburst.
"You're a bit of an idiot, aren't you?"

Crystal "Laserdream" Pelham POV
.
"I don't have a problem." I say.
"Yes you do." Mom says. "Answer me this, what's the longest you've gone without sex after getting together with Fire?"
"I'm not answering that!" I say indignantly.
"Then I'm shutting off your phone." She says, keeping her calm.
"That's not fair!" I say.
"Neither is it fair for me to come home to a house that smells like sex." She accuses. "Look, just, schedule a doctors appointment, you might have nymphomania."
"I'm not a nympho!" I hiss. "What even makes you think that?!"
"You're search history and bank statements." She says. "And no, I didn't go through any of your stuff. I have access to the ISP and your bank account was tied to my name."
'Oh god.' I think in distress. 'She knows about my collections!'
"That, and you may have gotten it from me." Mom says.
Wait what?
"What?"
"Let's just put it this way." Mom says with a smirk as she rest her head on her palm. "Do it often enough and birth control pills don't mean jack all. And I was on the pill for both you and Eric."
"I didn't need to know that." I say.
"I will say, I was never as out there as you seem to be." She continues. "Seriously, you're search history and purchases raise some questions."
"I don't want to hear this!" I reiterate.
"And if you're anything like me then you chose a man who's packing." She smirks.
"Oh my god!" I say in shock. "Mom!"
I'm gonna be sick.
"Hey, Crystal?" She says.
"What?" I ask fearfully.
"Agree to go to the doctor. And I'll stop." She says.
…
"Fine."
"Perfect!" She says. "Pro tip for when you have your own kids. Embarrassment works just as well, if not better, then punishment."
Oh, my god.
I'm going to turn into my mother.
.
.
Sarah "Lady Photon" Pelham POV
.
Ah, to be young again. Back when me and Neil had the time, energy, and willingness.
Crystal hasn't even heard the worst of it. Like how when she was seven, she stumbled in on me and Neil during our Christmas night. Neil told her he thought Mrs. Clause was burglar and he was wrestling her to apprehend her.
And that's not even mentioning the number of gas stations we're banned from. We just kept telling them that Neil's super strength acts up sometimes. Didn't stop them from sending us the bill.
So many sinks and toilets broken.
Damn, now I'm horny.
"Hey Crystal." I say to the girl trying to hide behind her hands.
"Oh my god what now?" She moans.
I reach into my wallet and toss her two hundred. Much to her surprise.
"Um."
"When your dad's done talking to Firebreather. Get out of here and rent yourself a motel for the night." I say with a smile.
"I, I don't think I have it in me anymore." She says with a look of consternation.
There is so much I could say to that.
"Sweetie, we both know that's not true." I say as I stand up. "Now, go get yours while I get mine."
"Mom!"

Steve "The Mechanic" Pappagallo POV
.
I just dropped off Maureen's body at the police station. I was so drunk when I picked her up. I didn't even know she was dead.
So, After I woke up. And Joey wanted to see if she was alright. I went to check on her.
Cold, but not her cold.
And now here I am. Drinking away my troubles like I do anytime life gets tough.
"The fuck's wrong with you?" The man across from me at the table says as he sits down. "Honestly? I want to know."
"I don't know." I say back. Unwilling to look him in the eyes, but unable to look away. "I wish I knew."
"Bullshit!" He yells back. His familiar brown eyes burning into mine. "You know what your problem is?!"
"I'm pathetic?" I offer with a sad smile.
"If only!" He says back. "No, what you are is worse. You're a coward, and a hypocrite."
"How's that worse?" I ask.
"Because those can be fixed!" He yells. "But you refuse to do so."
"Well it's not like there's an easy way-" I try to say.
"Easy? You want easy? You've been doing easy!" He accuses. "All you do is work, and drink. Work and tinker to distract, drink and sleep to forget. The only way it gets any easier is if you take that gun over there, put it to your head, and end it!"
He's right. I know he's right. I've been taking the easy way out.
"Stop avoiding your problems! For once in your life!" He says. "Do something to better yourself!"
"I don't know how." I admit.
"All you have to do, is say no." He says. "That's your first step and you know it. Next time you see that bottle, just, say, no."
"If only it were that easy." I say to myself.
"Again, you want easy? Grab that gun, and pull the trigger you coward. Before you kill another broken little girl." He says.
"I never killed anyone." I say. "I've done so much to avoid that."
"And yet, all your actions do, is kill." He says. "You may not be the one swinging the hammer or holding the nail. But how many coffins have you helped seal?"
"Too many." I admit. "I've tried so hard though! I've even been sabotaging the cars I make for others! Make sure they can't-"
"Giving someone a faulty gun despite knowing they're going to shoot someone, is still giving them a gun." He points out.
"I, just don't want." I try. "I never wanted any of this."
"And yet, here we are." He says. "Back at square one. A gun in one hand, a bottle in the other."
I look down to see he's right. My dads old pistol is in my right hand, and a bottle of jack in the left. Empty bottle, full pistol.
"And you, so drunk. You're talking to your own reflection again." I say as I look up to the mirror.
Why?
"Why don't I recognize you?"

I picture Missy saying that being slapped after touching Kitsu's butt is worth it, is in the energy as Future Good Ending Missy saying that a week of soreness after three days of nonstop sex with Kitsu, is worth it.
Just a calm, smug, worth it.

QUESTIONS!
.
FOR NEWB!
RadChaos897: Have you read the Abaddon Born(e) fanfic by Publiclee Speaking? If not then I highly recommend reading it. It was one of the first Worm fics I read and inspired some of the ideas I gave you, and it was recently completed. Fair warning though, it does get quite grim and dark in some places and deals with certain uncomfortable topics and subjects. Still a great read in my opinion.
Newb: I have not. I will say that you're the fourth person to recommend it to me.
.
FOR KITSU!
RadChaos897: If you were a Tinker, what specialty would you have or what specialty would you like to have? And do you think you could recreate the Mantis Claws from Cyberpunk 2077? Either with self-biokinesis or by bio-Tinkering up a pair of gauntlets with the Mantis Claws in them.
Kitsu: Um, I'unno. If I were a real tinker then I'd want something that imitates magic and go all mystic fox on people!
Newb: You already do that with your illusions.
Kitsu: It's not the same. As for the mantis blades? No.
Newb: I had those in one of my runs and they were so glitchy!
RadChaos897: If you had a biological sample of any creature (real or fictional) what would it be and what would you use it for? You can list as many examples of samples you would want, if you want.
Kitsu: White Claws, Xenomorphs, Viltrumites, Chimera Ants, blacklight virus, symbiotes, and EVERYTHING IN THE CANON OMNITRIX!
RadChoas897: do you know about CWD?
Kitsu: I didn't, and after a google search I wish I still didn't know about Chronic Wasting Disease.
RadChaos897: What about Alpha-Gal Syndrome? It's a food allergy for red meat. Maybe you could use it on kids who hate
Kitsu: I would never! It's permanent! Okay I would on Hookwolf or Sophia.
Newb: Kitsu mentioned using deer ticks to impose Alpha-Gal Syndrome on people in an earlier chapter.

FOR ONE TIME ONLY!
VICTORIA DALLON
Grimnosh: You love to fly a lot and being a teenage girl sometimes you can get distracted with your phone. How many times have you accidentally crashed into a building while texting and flying?
Vicky: Ugh! Why'd you have to bring that up. I haven't crashed into anything for last five months okay!
Carol: twenty seven times.
Vicky: Mom!
RadChaos897: What aspect of your power do you like the most? Flight? Super Strength? Invulnerability? Your Awe/Fear Aura? Which aspect of your power do you dislike?
Vicky: I love my flight the most. And there's nothing about my power that I dislike. I do wish my forcefield was permanent though.
RadChaos897: What was the most expensive thing you broke? I'm betting a rich boy's sports car.
Vicky: You don't need to know, it wasn't anything too bad any-
Amy: A 1.2 million dollar MRI machine at the hospital.
Vicky: Amy!
RadChaos897: If you had a nickel for every time your mom told you to control your powers, how rich would you be?
Vicky: More than two.
RadChaos897: Were there any times when Dean broke up with you or has it always been you breaking up with him? If he did break up with you, what was it over?
Vicky: I asked for a threesome. I didn't have anyone in mind! Just asked if he'd be cool with one.
Kitsu: You get all cagey over the smacking into building and breaking crap. But that's what you're okay with sharing!?
Vicky: Well, those were embarrassing! There's nothing wrong with a little experimenting.
