The sun was beginning its descent, casting long shadows over the forest near where the young, six-year-old Naruto found himself wandering. This wasn't his original world; he had been reincarnated into another world, a place where quirks defined you, and heroes were the pinnacle of society. An entity by the name of Caius had approached him and had made him an offer. If he was willing to become something called an Isekai'd Hero then a cloak of protection would be added to his world so his descendants wouldn't always have to continuously deal with the Ootsuki and other threats.

So even if the boy standing there currently had no memory of the deal in the passing years to come, he would soon come to learn of what the overseer had in store for him.

As he trudged through the underbrush, his sharp blue eyes caught sight of something unusual—a slight depression hidden by the overgrowth, not natural, but disturbed. Curiosity piqued, Naruto approached, his small hands parting the leaves, revealing a hidden pit. It was an old, forgotten trap, long since abandoned, but now it held a new captive.

Peering inside, Naruto saw a small figure huddled at the bottom. It was a girl, perhaps eight or nine, with hair that shimmered like the sky and eyes wide with fright. She was trying to scale the slippery earthen walls, but to no avail, as her hands found no purchase.

"Hey, are you okay?" Naruto called out, his voice echoing slightly against the walls of the pit.

The girl looked up, her wide, tear-streaked face lighting up with a glimmer of hope. "Please, can you help me? I've been stuck here for hours," she cried out, her voice hoarse.

"I'll get you out of there," Naruto declared with a confidence that belied his age, already assessing the situation. The pit was deep, especially for a child, but Naruto was resourceful, his young mind trained by dreams of countless battles and strategies that the boy could yet to perceive were memories of another life.

Naruto glanced around, searching for something to use. Near the pit, he spotted a length of sturdy vine tangled amongst the trees. With quick, precise movements, he gathered the vine, testing its strength with a sharp tug. Satisfied, he fashioned a makeshift rope, tying one end securely to a nearby tree.

"Hold on to this, but wait for my signal before climbing," Naruto instructed, throwing the other end of the vine down to the girl, who caught it with trembling hands.

"Okay," the girl nodded, her trust in the young boy before her immediate and desperate.

Naruto held onto the vine, bracing himself. "Now, climb up! I've got you."

With Naruto's encouragement, the girl began her ascent, her small hands gripping the vine tightly. Naruto pulled from his side, his face set in a determined grimace as he used his body weight to assist her climb.

Bit by bit, the girl made her way up, encouraged by Naruto's steady coaching. "That's it... just a little more..."

Finally, with one last pull, the girl's hands grasped the edge of the pit, and with Naruto's help, she scrambled over the rim to safety. They both fell back onto the soft earth, panting from exertion.

"Thank you," the girl breathed out, her eyes meeting Naruto's. "I thought I was going to be stuck there forever."

"No problem! What were you doing out here alone, anyway?" Naruto asked, his tone friendly and curious.

"I was exploring. I wanted to test out my quirk... I can create shockwaves, see?" the girl explained, her hands animated as she recovered from her ordeal. "But I guess I wasn't looking where I was going."

"That's a cool quirk!" Naruto exclaimed, impressed. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, by the way. I'm new around here."

"I'm Nejire Hado. Thank you, Naruto-san. You're really brave, you know that?" Nejire said with a smile, her earlier fears forgotten in the wake of her rescue.

"Brave? Nah, I just did what anyone would do," Naruto replied modestly, scratching the back of his head.

"Not everyone," Nejire countered. "Some might have run off to get help, but you actually did something."

They sat in silence for a moment, just two kids who had unexpectedly become friends after a bizarre turn of events.

"Hey, Naruto, do you want to be heroes together? I mean, when we're older?" Nejire suddenly proposed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Heroes, huh?" Naruto mused, thinking of the heroes he had occasionally seen. "Yeah, I'd like that. But we'll have to train a lot!"

"I'd like that too. And we can help each other with our quirks!" Nejire said eagerly.

As Naruto and Nejire walked through the thickening forest, the light dimming around them hinted at the lateness of the hour. Nejire's chatter about her quirk and her dreams of heroism gradually fell into a lull as they neared the edge of the woods, the boundary that marked her familiar world.

Naruto could sense her anxiety spike as they approached the clearing where the houses began—a small, close-knit community on the outskirts of the main city. The houses were modest but well-kept, gardens blooming with the last of the summer's flowers, and children's toys scattered about lawns.

"There," Nejire pointed towards a particularly cheerful house painted a soft yellow, with white trim and a porch that wrapped around the front. "That's my home."

As they stepped onto the main road that led through the community, a sharp shout cut through the air, piercing the calm of the evening. "Nejire!"

Turning towards the shout, Naruto saw a man and a woman rushing towards them from the house Nejire had pointed out. The man was tall, broad-shouldered, with a kind face that was currently creased with worry. His hair was a darker shade of Nejire's vibrant blue, and his eyes scanned the area frantically until they landed on Nejire. Relief washed over his features in an instant. The woman beside him, sharing the same striking blue hair, albeit styled in elegant waves, clutched a handkerchief to her chest, her other hand pressed to her mouth.

"Mom! Dad!" Nejire sprinted towards them, launching herself into their arms. "I'm okay, I'm okay," she reassured, her voice muffled by her father's sturdy coat.

Her father, strong and imposing yet gentle, hugged her tightly, lifting her off the ground. "We were so worried, sweetheart. What happened?" His voice was deep, tinged with residual fear.

Nejire's mother, regaining her composure, looked her over, hands fluttering like birds, touching Nejire's arms, her face, as if to assure herself her daughter was truly unharmed. "Thank you, heavens," she murmured, her relief palpable.

"It was my fault, I got curious and fell into an old trap," Nejire explained, her cheeks reddening with embarrassment. "But Naruto saved me." She gestured to Naruto, who had hung back to give the family a moment but now stepped forward.

Nejire's father set her down, turning to regard Naruto with a critical yet grateful eye. "You must be Naruto. Thank you for bringing our daughter back safe," he said, extending a hand, which Naruto shook firmly.

"I was glad to help, sir," Naruto replied respectfully.

Nejire's mother, wiping tears from her eyes, smiled at Naruto. "Please, come in. You must be tired and hungry. We'd like to thank you properly."

As they walked towards the house, Nejire's father kept a gentle hand on her shoulder, while her mother chatted with Naruto, asking him questions about where he was from and how he had come to be in the forest at the same time as Nejire.

Inside, the house was warm and inviting, with photos of Nejire at various ages adorning the walls and shelves filled with books and trinkets from travels. Nejire's parents introduced themselves as Hiroshi and Yuna Hado. Hiroshi worked in urban planning, which explained the organized layout of their community, while Yuna was a botanist, her expertise evident in the lush garden wrapping around their home.

"We hope you like okonomiyaki," Yuna said as they sat down at the dining table, presenting a large, savory pancake that smelled delicious.

As they ate, Naruto told them about his life and how he was alone for as long as he could remember. Being orphaned and surviving on his own for so long was a testament to his resourcefulness. Hiroshi and Yuna listened intently, clearly impressed and appreciative of the young boy who had saved their daughter.

"You know, Naruto, you have quite the heroic spirit for someone so young," Hiroshi commented, a twinkle of approval in his eyes.

Naruto blushed at the praise. "I just did what anyone would do," he demurred.

"Not everyone, but perhaps that's how heroes are born," Yuna said softly, smiling at him.

The evening grew late, and as Naruto prepared to leave, Hiroshi pulled him aside. "Naruto, I've been thinking. Our community could really benefit from someone with your courage and skills. Have you ever considered staying here, perhaps continuing your schooling in our local academy?" The local academy was funded to give schooling opportunities for even those without parentage and he felt remised to just allow this young child to go off without a home or parental supervision.

Naruto, taken aback, promised to think about it. The offer was appealing—a chance to settle, to belong somewhere as part of a community that seemed to value the same things he did: bravery, kindness, and a willingness to help others.

As he left the Hado household, Naruto felt a warm sense of potential. Meeting Nejire and her family, saving her, it all felt like steps on a path he was meant to follow—a path that could perhaps lead him to becoming the hero he had always aspired to be.

Walking back under the starlit sky, Naruto felt more determined than ever. Royal Woods might just become his new home, and with new friends and a potential new family in the Hados, his adventures were just beginning. The night air wasn't just cool—it was alive with possibility.

As Naruto walked back through the quiet streets of the community, his mind buzzed with the possibilities that had unfolded before him that evening. The sense of acceptance and appreciation he had felt from Nejire's family was warming, and the idea of staying in Royal Woods, possibly attending the local academy and really making a place for himself here, was increasingly appealing.

He arrived at the hovel where he called a home.

With a soft sigh, Naruto opened the door to his house and stepped inside. The space was small and modest, barely furnished but enough for him.

Sitting on the threadbare sofa, Naruto pulled out a small, worn notebook and a pen from his backpack. He flipped to a new page, labeled it "Plans," and started jotting down thoughts and considerations about staying in Royal Woods:

Schooling: Enroll in the local academy, learn more about quirks academically.

Training: Continue developing and grow stronger to be a top tier hero.

Long Term Goals: Become a Pro hero and establish oneself. Develop a group of allies.

As he wrote, Naruto felt a sense of purpose solidifying within him. For now, this will do.

Naruto woke up early, the first light of dawn spilling through the small window of his home. He readied himself for the day, his mind set on his new goals. After a quick breakfast, he headed out, first stopping by the Hado household to speak with Hiroshi and Yuna.

He found them in the garden, Yuna tending to her plants while Hiroshi was setting up what looked like a new bird feeder.

"Good morning, Naruto! You're up early," Yuna greeted with a smile, wiping her hands on her apron.

"Good morning, Mrs. Hado, Mr. Hado. I've thought about your offer," Naruto started, his tone serious but friendly.

"And?" Hiroshi looked at him with a mixture of interest and kindness.

"I'd like to stay," Naruto announced. "I want to enroll in the academy and learn from you and the others."

"That's wonderful news!" Yuna exclaimed, her delight clear. "We'd be happy to have you, Naruto. I'll speak with the principal of the academy today. He's a good friend and very understanding."

Hiroshi clapped a strong hand on Naruto's shoulder, a firm, approving gesture. "We'll do whatever we can to support you, Naruto. Welcome to the community."

Naruto smiled, a deep, genuine smile that reached his eyes. "Thank you, both of you. I'm looking forward to this."

Over the following weeks, Naruto settled into his new life with a vigor and enthusiasm that endeared him to all he met. He enrolled in the local academy, where his abilities quickly set him apart as an exceptional student. He proved to be rather advance in his age both in physical skills and mentally.

His relationship with Nejire and her family deepened. Hiroshi and Yuna treated him almost as a second child, and Naruto came to view them as family. With each passing day, he felt more and more a part of the community. Unknown to him he would soon become involved with a destined battle that has long been brewing in this country for decades.
