Grimnosh: The retail worker comment was made on the cutscene where Ezio got his nose broken.

And Lyra's collar is made to look like a fashion choice. Like a spiked or studded collar.

Gogmazios: You're welcome!

GideonBlackthorn: Yep, Kitsu may be on the more high functioning end of the spectrum, but she is a sociopath.

Firefly9202002: Characters can be wrong.

RadChaos897: Yeah, a lot of people were questioning Kitsu's inability to hold grudges or any other form of emotion for long periods of time. No matter how intense the emotion is at the start.

I'm stealing that idea.

A Dancing Leaf: You'd be surprised how much people keep mixing fics they're reading. So, yes. Kitsu's had social and emotional issues from the start. But, some people just haven't noticed, because we're seeing 90% of her impulsiveness and actions through her lens. So, we see her as this lovable gremlin.

When in universe. Kitsu is a very controversial and nuanced character. If you were to ask everyone she knows how they feel about her, you won't get a common answer. And yes, Kitsu's been either mirroring people around her, or complimenting them. Mirroring Mark's goofiness, Carol's word play, Wade's calm nature, Vicky's gossipy habits. Complimenting Amy's snark with casual acceptance, Missy's professional and seriousness with childish and silliness.

Cassnova5424: It's not the Hulk.

Kitsu POV

.

Climbing over the ledge of the apartment building, I spot Missy and Pinky next to each other, crouched below the ledge and peeking over.

Pulling out my phone, I snap a picture of their butts. Put it away, and act like I'm not making a secret folder later.

Walking over, I get next to Missy and get on my knees to peer over the ledge as well.

"What are we looking at?" I ask in a harsh whisper.

"Ah!" Missy squeaks as she jumps back and lands on Pinky, who also squeaks in surprise.

"Huh, okay then." I say as I stare at the tangled teens, before looking out to the scene of destruction that is the block across from us.

One building leveled, two buildings next to it partially collapsed. Rubble and debris all over the street. As well as scores of cops on the scene in a panic. But no Hulk.

'Ooh!' I watch a large rock fly out the top floors of the building and hit a cop car!

"We were doing basic civilian evac when I used my power like you were teaching me." Missy starts explaining in a hurry. "You know, focusing on the fields to give me a sense of where people are. And, I noticed someone way underground. And they shouldn't be that far, well Gully and Mr. Incredible started digging and digging way further than the building records suggest the building should be, and they found a big green man with orange hair who went nuts!"

"Orange hair?" I think out loud.

"Yeah, and electricity powers." Missy says. "All of the Wards were evacuated to a safe distance to secure the perimeter after Armsmaster tried talking to him. I don't know what happened, but things escalated and Armsmaster got punched and his suit locked up."

"Okay, and I assume you were asked to call me to help out?" I ask, piecing together what happened.

"Um, not exactly." Missy says awkwardly.

"We were actually told not to contact you because you retired from heroing, and are not really tied to any chain of command." Pinky pipes up, causing Missy to blush.

"Uh!" I gasp as I put my hand to my mouth. "Missy! Did you, break the rules?" I ask in false shock.

She blushes and turns away from me. Crossing her arms as she refuses to look at me directly.

"Look, there's a big bad down there and I highly doubt things can get worse." Missy says just before another car is pelted by a large piece of rubble.

"Kitsu please help?" Pinky asks, stepping around Missy to address me.

"Alright." I shrug before walking to the ledge, and stepping off. "Weeeeeee!"

I hit a car with a thud, making sure to keep my body spread out to reduce the pain. In me, the car's roof is dented as all heck.

"FREEZE!" A nearby officer shouts as he aims his sidearm at me.

"No." I say as I get up, and get shot.

Rolling my eyes as the officer drops his gun and starts freaking out. Muttering about how I'm just a kid and he shot and this and that.

Oddly enough, not the first person to freak out after firing on me.

Walking forward over the rubble. I look around for any others. Before hearing the rubble move. Looking towards the sound, I witness a large slap get thrown up and over like a hatch door. And watch as Mr. Incredible climbs to his feet out of the debris and stretching.

"Ugh!" He groans as he pops his back, before heaving forward, placing his hands on his knees. "I'm getting too old for this."

He pants a bit before straightening back up, and looking around. Spotting me about fifty feet away.

"Hiii!" I wave to the big man.

"Um, hi?" He says with a small wave. "Uh, what are you doing here?"

"I heard the commotion and was bored." I shrug, not about to rat out my girl.

"Um, okay." He says before glancing around. "Do you know where any of the others are?"

"I only stopped by Mis- ehem. Vista and Pinky on my way over." I say, almost sweating at my close call.

"Uh, huh." He says, still looking around before jumping forward at me. "Look out!"

I instinctively activate my immovable power. And Mr. Incredible trips himself trying to pick me up and move me, just before a piece of rubble smacks into us and breaks over our bodies.

"Hey, yeah. I'm more indestructible than Alexandria so, you're good dude." I say as I pat the man's shoulder.

There are some people out there, even those who know me. That genuinely forget how strong I am. How good my ears are, how I'm indestructible, all that.

The funnest one is when they forget I change my appearance.

"Oh, right." He says as he gets back up, and awkwardly checks his watch. "Mr. Incredible, Code Eight, Twenty Four, Two Zero Zero Four dash One. Requesting roll call, five hundred feet."

"You have a super watch!" I gush excitedly as I jump up and cling to his arm to get a better look. "Oh that's so cool!"

"Identity confirmed." The watch says as it starts showing our pictures in a tiny hologram. "Nearby registered capes. Kitsu, Assault, Gully, Firebreather, Dauntless."

"Why did I show up?" I ask as I still hang on his arm. "Is this thing biometrical?"

"No, it pings for devices registered to the individuals, that only they would have." He says. "Like your hearing aides."

"Oh, that's less cool." I say as I drop down. "Anyway! What's the dealio?"

"First, you need to get out of here." He says, turning to me. "This is too dangerous for a child to be involved."

I stare him down as I cross my arms and tap my foot.

"Um, uh, a-no." I say sassily.

That seems to be the wrong answer in his book. As he just shakes his head at my refusal.

"This isn't up for debate kiddo." He says as he walks forward and tries to pick me up, only to struggle as I activate my immovable power once more. Rooting me to my spot.

"Hrmmm!" He strains, trying harder and harder to pick me up. "I am giving you a lawful order, to leave the scene!"

I roll my eyes and wait for him to tire out. The only issue with my immovable power, is that yes, I'm immovable. But I can't move. The moment I do move beyond a certain point. He'll be able to, move me.

He's using enough force to subtly crack the ground I'm standing on, I'm less than fifty pounds. And the way he's trying to lift me, well.

Free ride.

Deactivating my immovable. I immediately get flung towards the half wrecked building where the rubble keeps flying out of.

"WEEEEEEEEE!" I squeal in excitement like the tiny adorable murder missile I am.

Robert "Bob/Mr. Incredible" Parr POV

.

"WEEEEEEeeeeeeeee!" The little girl shouts as she flies through the air towards the threat.

"Uh oh." I say quietly as I watch my mistake unfold.

Helen is going to kill me when she finds out I just threw a kid, again.

??? POV

.

So far, so far from home. From the rivers and my friends.

This land is nothing but darkness and unliving stone. Filled with invaders wielding those damned black weapons that spit fire and hurt like an ant's bite.

I need to leave this colorless place and return home. Return to the kind ones.

"eeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" I hear the cheerful voice of a small one before the sound of nearby rocks smashing.

"I am going mad in this land." I tell myself.

What small one would be here? There are nothing but invaders in this land. Invaders who only seek harm, no small one would be here.

Peering over the rock I am hidden behind, I see the large red one down on the floor of the stone forest. The blue stone man tried to talk, but his voice was filled with lies as he prepared his spear.

None approach a friend with arms bared. And none conceal their face without trying to hide their intent.

"I just, need to get home." I remind myself.

Get home. Eat some fish, make a few flower chains with Potira. I hope her and the other small ones are alright.

Covering my face and taking a deep breath to calm myself as I think of a plan. First, I just need to kill off enough mean ones, and they'll retreat for some time. Then I need to escape, and hopefully find friends. Not everyone in this land can be evil, surely?

Opening my eyes. I am greeted to the sight, of a smiling small one.

"Ahh!" I jump back in shock.

"Hi!" She exclaims with pointed teeth. Teeth like mine. "Aim Keetzoo!" She speaks just like the blue stone man.

She's, much paler than the other small ones. So much so that I fear she may be sick. But more than that, I see her details.

Large furry ears atop her head, large furry tail. And softer, night time eyes. Colored like Akaru's favorite flowers. Golden hair like the deadly frogs. Pink, sleeveless top robe, and yellow parted shorts.

"Are you, a faerie like me?" I ask as I take a small step forward. "Are you a faerie's small one?"

"Tu sprichen Deutch?" She says with a tilt of her head. "Tu ablas espanyol? Inglish? Portuguese?"

'She's asking how I talk!' I realize.

"I speak, a little Portuguese." I say awkwardly. "I am, friend. Are you, friend?"

"I can't speak Portuguese." She shakes her head.

'Is, she messing with me?' I think to myself. 'I've never met another faerie, but the others say they are tricky. Like how I am large, but hide well.'

Perhaps this is her playing?

She then pulls a small seed out of the wrappings of her strange clothes. And holds out her hand to reveal a seed, one that quickly grows before my eyes, and blooms into a beautiful flower of pink and blue. One that glows like the fireflies.

She holds it out with a smile, and I accept the gift.

"You are a faerie, like me!" I exclaim as I feel some sense of hope. For the first time in so long!

I found one of my kind! Another faerie! And one who is a friend.

"I can't speak Portuguese." She says again as her tail sways.

"Hahahahahaha!" I laugh, a bellowing laughter as I finally see some light in this bleak and colorless land.

"Ay!" I'm brought out of my joy by the voice of a tall one.

Looking over, I see it is another unkind one. In armor like the other, but red like the large one. His face concealed to hide his intent, and I'm put back on my guard.

I need to protect the small one!

.

Kitsu POV

.

"Hey Assault!" I wave to the man. "We're good here!"

"Good?" He asks sarcastically as he stares at Blanka. "Forgive me if I don't feel safe around the green valley giant who managed to nearly punch Armsmaster's helmet clean off."

Yeah, this is Blanka. Green skin, large super saiyan three mane like orange hair, large spiked teeth and all that.

He's got manacles around his wrists and ankles. And a large metal collar. So uh, either he's made weird fashion choices, or there is no way he's here voluntarily. So, combined with the whole, not speaking any common language for the area. Is painting a picture.

"Okay but be honest." I say as I cross my arms. "Who wouldn't deck the knockoff Robocop if given the chance?"

Assault doesn't say anything as he keeps his head turned towards Blanka. Though he does offer a shrug.

"Do you know anyone who speaks Portu-" I start to ask before Blanka moves and puts himself between me and Assault.

I don't say anything as Blanka roars and slams the floor of the broken room we're in. Collapsing the floor beneath us and sending us all falling. Where he wraps his arms around me as we crash. Before rolling forward and over Assault in the doorway and, standing back up and charging off down the hall with me in his arm.

"Huh, I've never been a hostage before." I remark as I'm carried through the halls of what I think was an office building. "Oh wait, yes I have."

How do I get out of this, without making things worse? Because despite what Missy said I can definitely make things worse.

But he accepted my flower! So he's good in my book so far. So what if he destroyed a few police cars, who hasn't?

Okay real talk? I'm feeling lazy today and don't want to deal with anything that might come of me messing things up.

'But now what do I do with an eight foot hulking giant who may or may not have lightning powers. That doesn't speak any language I know?' I think to myself.

I speak three languages by the way. Not fluently, but, it's something.

Pulling out my phone, I scroll through my contacts and call my first pick.

"Hello?"

"Hey Mom, do you know anyone who speaks Portuguese?" I ask the lawyer.

What? She's a lawyer. Words and reading are their thing. The eccentricities of language are as open to her, as I am to pizza.

"What?" She says. "Kitsu what the hell are you on about? And what's this I hear from Amy about you running off to fight a Bulk?"

Beautiful word choice.

"It's Blanka, I think." I say as we make a left turn into a bathroom. "That's what my thinker power is telling me anyway."

"Where are you?" Mom asks.

"Currently? The building next to the one that collapsed." I answer her. "But I gotta go, need to find someone who speaks Portuguese."

"What is-" I hang up and dial the next number as Blanka runs out of the room and back into the hall.

"What's the sitch?" Wade says. "You're moving pretty erratically, something going on?"

"Oh just being kidnapped again." I say before being set down in a room after Blanka checks the area. "Being a hostage and all that, speaking of, do you speak Portuguese?"

"Um, no actually." He says after a few seconds.

"But you speak like, eight languages!" I say.

"I speak every Germanic language." He says. "Portuguese is a Romance language. I don't even know Spanish."

"No romance languages?" I tsk. "No wonder you're single."

There's a decent pause as I imagine Wade deadpanning at the computer screen he's at.

"What do you want from me?" He asks tiredly before offering. "I can make an accurate translator and download it to your phone."

"Ooh that sounds neat!" I say excitedly.

"Five hundred bucks." He says.

"What?" I ask. "Can't you make it a favor? Please?"

"I can't be handing out top of the line tinkertech for free!" He scoffs. "Besides, you clearly don't need it. You're being held hostage because you're playing a game."

I mean, he's not exactly wrong.

"Ugh!" I groan as Blanka leaves the room. "Fine, I've got one more person I can call. If they can't help I'll call you back."

"Sounds good." He says and hangs up.

'Let's see what's behind door number three!' I think as I dial up the next number while keeping an ear out for where Blanka's heading.

"Halo?" I hear the German accented voice.

"Nighty!" I exclaim excitedly, not thinking he'd pick up. "I need a favor."

"Kitsu?" He asks, clearly confused.

"Yeah, so I got a question, can you speak Portuguese?" I get straight to the point.

"Why would I speak Portuguese?" He asks.

"Beeecaaauusse you're, multi lingual?" I try.

What!? I'm out of options here! There's Gully who speaks a bit of Spanish but is in no way fluent. And maybe Lung who speaks English, Mandarin, Japanese, and some passing, whatever language is spoken in India.

"… Okay ya, I speak a little Portuguese. Why?" He asks.

"Because there's a rampaging case fifty three who, so far, only speaks Portuguese." I explain, and then hammer on sympathy details. "He was found trapped, and has manacles on his wrists and ankles. And a metal collar."

And, waiting. And waiting. Any moment now-

"Where?"

'Bingo!' I think victoriously as I just saved five hundred bucks.

Nightcrawler has a bleeding heart. And can easily be persuaded to help.

.

.

Blanka POV

.

These stone halls are like the ruined caves, but like everything here they lack any color, or life. So, so wrong.

Am, am I dead? Did I die and move to the lifeless land? Is that why there's no green? No animals and no kind ones?

Except for the one. She is a faerie, like me. She must be a young faerie, lost and scared. Far from home like me. Or, if I am dead, then she is a sad tale.

"Hello?" I hear a strange voice from down the cave's path. "I, friend. No talk good!"

"Then show yourself!" I demand as I start slowly backing up. "If you are friend, then show your face!"

"I am scary!" He says, the sound now being above me. "You promise not attack?"

'I shouldn't have left the small faerie.' I think to myself as I prepare to run back and retrieve her.

"Show your face! And I'll not hurt you!" I tell the voice. "Hide, and you are no friend!"

"Yes!" He says as I see black smoke appear behind a corner, before a large frog's hand holds itself out, attached to a thin man's arm. "I am friend! I move slow, do not be scared!"

I await patiently, ready to run in case of another trick. When, I am brought more hope as the blue man walks into my path. The long tail of a tree snake, with an arrow's tip. Frog's hands and jaguar eyes. Dark hair and a smile colored as white as a cloud. With pointed teeth like mine, but small like the girl's.

"You are, a faerie like me?" I say, hopeful to find another friend. And one who speaks to me.

"I am, like you, yes." He says slowly as he puts a hand to his chest and nods. "I am help you. You want?"

He speaks broken like the invaders, but he wields no weapons of death. And he is a faerie.

"Yes, please!" I nod, and he smiles with me. "I need to get home! To the forests! To the people!"

"Slow talk." He says as he starts walking closer. "No good speak, need slow."

"Home, the forest." I say slowly, hoping he understands, hoping for some light.

"Which forest?" He asks as he gets closer to me. "Many forests, which forest?"

"Many?" I think as I feel my heart beat harshly like the river's rapids. "There is only one, the forest. More green, less stone."

"Yes forest, many forests everywhere." He says again. "Forest name?"

The forest doesn't have a name. It's name is the forest! But, maybe, maybe the villages?

"Some villages are, Assakata, Kamwatta, Koriano?" I try, only to a shake of the head and a sad look. "Cupipo Ciudad Bolivar?"

"Ciudad Bolivar?" He asks, his brow raising in recognition. "South, America?"

I've heard that before! South America must be what they call the forest and villages.

"Yes!" I say excitedly. "South America! The forest!"

"Alt!" I swing around as I see the red stone man, who holds up a rock he speaks into. "Dizpash ai af eiz on Naitkrawlr ahlong wif saspekt, oardurs?"

"Stahp!" My new friend says as he appears before me, hands out to protect us from the red stone man. "Lehts tahlk! Ohkae? No nid to exkalait!"

As he says that, the large red man bursts out from the side, running through the stone walls and carrying me through the others. Until we fall off of the square, hollow mountain I've been sheltering in. Crashing to the ground as I let my body surge with lightning.

"Ahhh!" The large red man screams as he lets go of me in pain.

"Leave me alone!" I shout as I grab into the rocks and throw a flat boulder at him. It breaks on his form, crumbling away as he shakes off the pain.

"SSHHHTAAAAHHP!" I hear above me, as another, an orange bat winged man descends.

"Another faerie?" I say in confusion.

.

.

Kitsu POV

.

"Well, this is going well." I say as I sit on the ledge of the ruined floor. About thirty feet up from the action.

"This is going schlecht." Nightcrawler says next to me.

"Could be worse." I shrug as Firebreather gets between Blanka and Mr. Incredible. "People could be dead."

"People are dead." He hisses while waving an arm to the police's street barricade. "Shietze, just getting here, I saw fünf ambulances."

Oh, daz bad.

"Well, people could be more dead." I say sheepishly with an awkward smile.

"Kitsu." He says, staring at me very unimpressed with my attitude. "You want me to help? I need to not be arrested. I can't do that, when they are so, strung up!"

This, this is why I retired so early. So much responsibility. No fun.

"Urgh!" I say as I lean forward. "Fine, should've just paid the five hundred." I mumble to myself.

I fall off the edge and plummet to the ground. Crossing my arms as I wait for the ground to get closer, before tucking and rolling. Running out to intercept Mr. Incredible and Firebreather who are arguing in front of Blanka.

"Okay!" I say as I jump up and land on Blanka's shoulder. "Silence!"

That works in getting the two's attention. And in almost scaring the crap out of Blanka.

"You!" I point to Firebreather. "Step aside before I think of something creative to hold over you!" I then point to Mr. Incredible. "Back off before I call your wife and tell her you threw a little girl!"

That seems to work for Fire, who holds his hands up and steps aside. But still levels a glare at Mr. Incredible. Who, doesn't seem as willing to back down.

"Kid you've got no business here." Mr. Incredible says as he points two fingers at me. "So, you go home before I call your mother. This is hero business, not sidekick business."

'Oh he did NOT just call me a sidekick!' I think as I stare him down, and Fire starts slowly backing away further with his hands raised.

"Excuse me?" I say as I hop down off of Blanka's shoulder and walk towards him. "For one, I already called my mother! Two, you're the one escalating this situation! Three, I am not a sidekick!"

"You watch your tone little lady!" He says while pointing a finger at me. "I don't know what your parents are teaching you but if you were my kid-"

"You'd what?" I hear, turning around to see Mom in full Brandish gear. "Because I know you're not about to parent my child."

Blanka starts growling at the woman and says something in Portuguese that I don't understand. But it doesn't sound nice.

"Mommy!" I say excitedly as I run over and glomp her.

"Hey sweetheart." She says as she rubs my head. "Step aside."

"That's, not a good idea." I say as I stay clung to her.

"And why not?" She asks with an edge in her voice.

"See the green guy?" I ask as I look up at her. "He's from South America and was kidnapped here buy some mercenaries and held in a secret bunker underground. He only speaks Portuguese and only seems to trust other Case Fifty Threes."

In other words, not her.

I got some of the info from Nightcrawler, watching his interaction with Blanka. And the big kicker here. The building that collapsed? The one Missy said had more sub levels than documented?

Fortress Constructions. Owned and run by a missing person now declared deceased by the name of one, Thomas Calvert. So, it wasn't hard to piece everything together.

"Good, you'll be my shield." She says as she picks me up and holds me on her hip.

"Wee!" I say excitedly.

"Now, explain what's happened." She says while she walks towards the three as Fire and Mr. Incredible start arguing again.

"Well, I came here because I heard things were getting out of hand. I found Missy and got the main details from her, someone trapped underground who went on a rampage after being dug up because Armsmaster said some things he shouldn't have. So, I went to help, found him, gave him a flower, and called a few people looking for someone to talk to him."

"Who did you call?" She asks before addressing the bickering boys in red. "Shut it! Both of you!"

The two look to her, and Mr. Incredible starts to speak back.

"Look, ma'am." He says holding a hand up. "The situation is well under control, we don't need you or your family's assistance in-"

"Okay first off, you will not talk to me like I'm some pedestrian walking up to a police investigation." Mom cuts him off, pointing at him and getting in his face. "Second of all, you can bet we'll be discussing how you talked to my daughter earlier."

'Hugs for Mommy!' I think as I nuzzle her shoulder.

"Third off, you cannot expect me to believe you had everything well handled when my twelve year old daughter-"

"Thirteen." I correct her.

"Shut up." She says softly before returning to Karen mode. "When my daughter managed to show up and gain a better handle on the situation in less than half an hour, when you've been here from the start! So you can take your ma'am nonsense and shove it because it's all shit."

'Wow!' I think, slightly scared of how aggressive that was.

Meanwhile, Fire walks over to Blanka, holding his hands up to show he's being friendly.

"Hey, I mean no harm." He says in a soft voice as he points to the manacles. "Those look painful, do you want them off?"

He doesn't seem to get the message. And backs up when Firebreather takes a step towards him.

"Chains." Fire says and grabs his own wrists, points to Blanka's wrists, and makes a breaking motion.

"You don't understand." Mr. Incredible says, raising his to, I don't know. Assert his aw-thori-tay. "That, creature attacked Armsmaster and then went ballistic! He needs to be detained and put in a holding cell!"

"Whoa!" I say as I hop out of Mom's grasp and walk up to the brute. "Creature? Mind using that language to my face?"

"Okay you need to settle down." Mom says as she grabs me by my sides and picks me back up.

Fire eventually manages to get close to Blanka and snaps the manacles off with a bit of effort as this all goes on.

"Okay!" Assault says as he rocks up to the party. "Mrs. Dallon, mini Dallon." He addresses Mom and then me.

I'll let it slide.

"I couldn't catch Nightcrawler." He says.

"Nightcrawler?" Mom asks. "What was one of Faultline's crew doing here?"

"I called him." I raise my hand before Mom sets me back down.

"And why did you call a villain over?" Mom asks before holding a hand up. "Actually no, don't say anything else."

"No, elaborate." Mr. Incredible says as he steps forward. "Because it sounds like your daughter is in regular contact with criminals."

"My lawyer has informed me to exercise my fifth amendment." I say and cross my arms to make an X.

"Then I'll call it in as obstruction to an investigation on aiding and abetting a criminal." He says seriously.

"You're overstepping your bounds." Mom says seriously as she gets in front of me, now almost face to face with Mr. Incredible.

This is getting way out of hand. And I have a feeling shard conflict shenaniganary is at play here. All I need, is for Nightcrawler to get down here, and help diffuse the situation.

"Hey, man." Assault says as he puts a hand on Mr. Incredible's shoulder. "Priorities. We need to-"

"We need to keep the peace!" He says as he shrugs Assault's hand off of his shoulder. "And we're being kept from doing that! By some upstart mother, her adopted daughter, and their independent firm of heroes! I'm trying to do what's right here!"

"If you're the standard to go by, I see why Seattle had so many riots." Mom says coldly.

Ooh. That's low.

"Excuse me?" Mr. Incredible says in a dark tone as he slowly turns to her.

This is going south, fast. Time to make myself the center of attention!

Taking a deep breath, I tap Mom's leg.

"I said-" She keeps going. So I grab her exposed hand, and make her deaf through a little tampering.

And, enhancing the strength of my lungs and vocal cords-

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" I shout, nearly hurting my own ears. Even through the hearing aides.

I then try to pull on the formula for infinite energy. Which [Conduit] gives me a massive migraine for. Which should pull the attention of the nearby warrior shards to divert their attention to [Conduit] who plays dead.

None of the nearby shards are "smart" enough to see through the deception [Conduit] puts on. But it pulls them from focusing on making the situation worse.

The conflict drives are like a build up system. With lower tier ones being less sophisticated and more direct, like Sophia's. When they're trying to start stuff, a quick distraction can throw them off their game for several minutes, or hours. Depending on the shard.

Or at least that's how [Conduit] explained it to me.

I like to think of it as, dummy's take a while to remember what they were doing.

"We good?" I ask after I undeafen my mother.

"Why?" Assault asks as Mr. Incredible holds his hands to his ears.

"Because you were all being butts!" I say as I turn to Blanka and Fire.

They're, not fairing much better. With Blanka being on his butt and holding his head in pain. Fire is currently shaking his own head, and presumably trying to stop the ringing.

"Okay." I say as I turn to Mr. Incredible and point. "You need to chill! I'm trying to get someone here who can translate and you are actively sabotaging me!" I stomp my foot for good measure.

It's when we all hear beeping that we freeze and look towards Fire and Blanka. Fire had apparently recovered, and decided to pop the collar off of Blanka. And is now holding said metal collar that was around Blanka's neck, and it's blinking and beeping.

"Uuuuhhh, is this bad?" Fire asks as the beeping picks up.

"It's a bomb!" Mr. Incredible says as he moves to tackle the device out of Fire's hands.

Only to get stopped by me as I grab his belt.

"What are you doing!?" He asks as I trip him and walk over him.

I don't say anything as I yank the collar out of Fire's hands and walk about ten feet away. Let it blow up, absorb the energy, and walk back.

"Go home." I tell the middle aged man as he gets up. "You're making everything worse."

"How am I making things worse?" He asks, stubbornly refusing to see reason.

"Aaaarrrgh!" I shout in frustration.

"Perimeter secure!" Dauntless says as he lands down near us. "I see you've settled things without me."

"I wish!" I shout in anger. "Where's Robocop!?"

Blanka POV

.

"My apologies." The blue stone man says as he removes his mask.

The small faerie had made a forest for us to speak. One in the middle of this cold, colorless land. And had brought back the blue stone man. And the blue frog faerie, Night Walker he is called, said this man will speak better.

"I was, unaware of the cultural differences." He says in a rough way of speech, before placing the helm back on. "I, cannot speak, and cannot understand you without this helmet. It is why I wear it. If that makes you uncomfortable, I'm sorry."

He clearly doesn't like me. But, he showed me his face. And he speaks the kind one's words. And the other faeries say he is good. So I'll have to trust them.

"I, apologize for the violence." I say reluctantly. "Too many here have hurt me. Too many still want to hurt me."

He nods, agreeing with me. Not daring to argue it, and showing he is no fool.

"I understand." He says. "From how we see it, bad people brought you here without us knowing. They hurt you, and were probably trying to use you."

He speaks like a chief. But receives commands like a small one. And acts like a growing one, eager to see their worth proven to others.

"Who are you to this land of stone?" I ask.

"I, am a peace keeper." He says after a bit of thought. "It is my job, as well as those you fought, to keep things safe. For the people."

'Like me.' I realize. 'Just as I protect the kind ones from the invaders and animals.'

"You've caused a lot of damage." He says. "I understand you were scared, and believed you were protecting yourself. But, we still need to take you away."

"More chains?" I ask, not able to keep the growl away from my voice.

"No, not if you work with us, and do as we say." He says, holding a hand up.

So, if I be kind, they take me away without chains. If I am unkind, I go back into the chains. But I was kind before, and I was put in chains.

How can I trust him?

"What happens, after?" I ask.

"Truthfully?" He starts. "You are not of this, land. So, after an investigation, after we search the area and learn everything that happened. You'll be sent home, and probably, be forbidden from ever coming back after the additional, offences you caused."

As if I'd ever want to.

Kitsu POV

.

It's odd seeing someone as large as Blanka squeeze into a PRT van. He's easily larger than even Gully. And it shows by how the van creaks and bows under his weight.

"Now that the current issue is settled." Mr. Incredible says behind me. "Where is Nightcrawler?"

'Uuurrgh!' I groan to myself as I turn to face him. 'Again with this!?'

"I'unno." I say with a shrug and an easy smile.

"Minors can still be charged and arrested." He says as he crosses his arms with a frown.

"And that is not your call." Mom says as they go head to head again.

"It's my responsibility to insure the safety of the people." He says, again. "If she's aiding a criminal then she needs to stop!"

At this point, I've deduced that he is just genuinely self righteous and head strong. Way to prove the stereotypes about law enforcement wrong.

"And as her caretaker and guardian, I'll address it." Mom says, standing her ground.

She's calmed down significantly. Seeing as she's gone back to words like, caretaker.

"Mr. Incredible." Armsmaster says as he walks over. "A word."

"What?" He asks in confusion as Armsmaster turns him around and walks away.

"I understand your frustration." Armsmaster says as I use my ears to listen in. "But trust me, you're only going to get yourself in trouble by trying to target her."

'Oh?' I think curiously. 'Armsmaster on my side? Someone needs to go through M/S protocols. Because either he's being mastered, or I'm under the influence of another power.'

"This is absurd." Mr. Incredible says. "I can't let this just slide. It's actively aiding a criminal and by being complacent in it, we're aiding in the delinquency of a minor!"

"I was in charge here, I tried to bring her to justice." Armsmaster spews his BS. "Now, I'm no longer in charge and she's scott free. Static Shock, tried to bring her to justice, and he's paying for collateral out of pocket after she again, got off without a single charge."

"Oh yeah!" I shout over to them, surprising the two. "You forgot to mention how you put a bomb in my hearing aides!"

"Kitsu shut up!" Mom says as she covers my mouth. "We're under an NDA."

"A stupid one." I say as I pull back. "He's lying about me. And making himself sound better! It's slander!"

"Kitsu, go home." Mom says as she points in the direction of our house. "Don't say anything more, and I'll see you at dinner."

Carol "Brandish" Dallon POV

.

"But!" She tries to protest, tail straight up and ears splayed back in irritation.

"Now!" I put my foot down on the matter. "I have too much on my plate right now to deal with you and this at the same time. Go home, and don't say anything to anyone until I get back."

The NDA is bullshit. But it's political bullshit. And breaking it will not only lead to more issues that I'll have to deal with. It'll also lower the trust the PRT puts in us. And by extension, the trust they put in New Wave.

"Rmmmm!" She growls, puffing out her cheeks as her face goes red in anger, balling up her little fists in anger. "Fine!"

She turns around and kicks a rock. Unpowered.

"Ahhhh hahahahahaaaa!" She screams as she hops on one foot while holding the other. She eventually stops after the pain subsides, and starts stomping off towards an alley.

"You can fly!" I call out, hoping she'll get home before she causes another scene.

"I don't wanna!" She says while stomping off past the police barricade in the alley. "I wanna walk!"

'I, really hope this isn't the start of her rebellious phase.' I think to myself before feeling a pit of dread drop in my stomach. 'Fuck. How the hell am I going to handle that? I'm barely handling Vicky's!'

No. That's for another time. For now, I need to figure out what all is going on, and what all went down.

And decide whether or not I need to ground Kitsu.

Director Emily Piggot POV

.

Another day, another headache inducing meeting.

"Ah, Missus Piggot, no?" The tan, accented man from Brazil says as I enter the room.

"Miss, I'm not married." I say to the white suited man.

"My apologies." He says as he stands and offers a hand. "I meant not to assume. I am Mauricio Carmilla Diaz Santino, I am the representative of the native population of the Orinoco river basin. Here on their behalf, and the behalf of the Brazilian and Venezuelan government. You may call me Mr. Diaz if it's easier for you."

'Diaz is first, so it's likely his father's family name.' I think idly as I accept the handshake.

"Very well Mr. Diaz." I say professionally. "Shall we get to business then?"

"No pleasantries?" He asks with a scrutinizing look. "Is this, usual for this part of the Americas?"

"It's usual for me." I stress as we complete our handshake. "I'm a very busy woman, and cannot waste time on unproductive matters."

"I, see then." He says with an untrusting look in his eyes. "Then, onto business. As you are aware, you are in custody of a culturally significant individual."

And here's the headache. It turns out the Case Fifty Three, is a kidnapped individual of, great importance to the River People.

"You understand I can't just hand him over." I inform him. "Not without insurance he will be duly processed for his crimes and charges be met for the damages he caused."

"Is there not leniency for, cultural differences and extenuating circumstances?" He asks challengingly. "Why do you need any assurance? Is not just easier on you to release him to us and our authority?"

Oh trust me. I would love nothing more than to scrape this off of my plate and onto someone else's.

But the public won't stand for that. Not after he killed five cops in an evacuation zone.

"This isn't a matter of public drunkenness or disorderly conduct." I explain to him. "This is a matter of the lives taken. He murdered five people in his rampage."

"A rampage induced by long standing torment in your country." He pushes back. "And need I remind you, it is your country's lax policies that allowed his illegal kidnapping to go unnoticed for months."

'So that's the game then?' I think as I return his untrusting glare with one of my own.

"Tell me Mr. Diaz." I say as I clasp my hands together and rest them on the table. "How many people have you gone through before me? How many will you have to go through after?"

"That is inconsequential to the current issue." He says curtly.

"You wen through at least five." I tell him. "Homeland security, the immigrations office, I know you've spoken with the governor. The chief of police for Brockton Bay, and the Secretary of state."

He narrows his eyes at me in concentration. Now knowing I'm not some no name politician who got in through votes. I'm here, because I'm competent.

I can't be persuaded with pleasantries and bribes. And certainly not convinced to just turn a blind eye and neglect my dues.

"Hmm, it would seem we are at an impasse here." He says in a low tone.

"That it would." I respond in the same tone. "You want the man turned over to your custody and avoid the reparations. I'm saying reparations must be paid."

He takes a deep breath through his nose. Our eyes never once leaving the other's.

"Very well."

Vista's average patrol

.

"Ma'am, we need you to step out of the car." The officer says.

'Another day, another Karen.' I think tiredly.

"No you don't." The woman says as she gestures to her seat in the taxi. "Because this, I paid for this ride. This is my property until I get to where I need to be."

'One week, just, one, week!' I cry out internally. 'Is that so much to ask?'

"And that is a separate issue all together." Officer Blane says, gesturing to her and the car. "As it stands, the owner of this vehicle, has informed you that you're not allowed in it and has asked you to leave. We're just trying to make sure this doesn't escalate further than it has to."

'This is so STUPID!' I can't help but think as I keep my distance, shadowing the officers as they address the situation. Long story short? Taxi driver refused a lady service, and she's refusing to leave his car.

"She clearly ain't cooperating." Vergil says as he steps forth. "Why are we-"

He stops as the female officer holds a hand and gets in front of him. Causing the teen to raise his hands and step away from the situation in frustration.

"Ma'am, if you don't exit the vehicle you'll be charged with trespassing." Officer Blane says.

"I'm not, trespassing!" The lady says, slapping her hand with each syllable. "I paid for this ride! That man is clearly trying to scam me!"

"She called me a chink." The man who called addresses the cops. "I maintain right to refuse service for any reason! And even then you haven't even paid yet!" He says to the lady.

"That's not the law!" She shouts. "That's policy! I am paying customer, paying you to drive me! You are legally obligated to drive me!"

'How can someone be so confidently wrong?'

"Ma'am, it is a federal law that any and all businesses maintain a right to refuse service." Officer Blane says, somehow keeping his calm in the face of this bitch.

"That's not a law! Show me the statute. Show me, where it says that in the constitution." She says with a smile. "You can't, that's what I thought. Goodbye and have a nice day."

'Kitsu and Vicky never have to deal with this.' I think bitterly as I lean against the brick wall.

"Ma'am, if you don't leave the vehicle Mr. Weng can press charges for trespassing." The female officer, Jones, says.

"You can't do that." She says. "You can't just press charges like that."

"I would like to press charges." The man says with a smile.

"Alright, ma'am. Out of the car now." Officer Blane says as he stops being nice.

"No." She says. "I don't have to listen to that."

"Ma'am, last chance." He says as he opens the door. "Step out of the vehicle or we'll use force to remove you and place you under arrest."

"No! You can't do that!" She says defiantly.

"Alright." Officer Blane says before activating his radio. "Officer Blane, subject Mariana Smith is officially trespassed and refusing to leave. Using force."

He then reaches into the car and grabs the woman by the arm.

"What!? No! Stop it!" She says as she pushes the cop's hands away.

"Quit resisting!" Blane shouts. "You're under arrest!"

"No I'm not!" She shouts as she kicks the cop. "I'm not under arrest!"

"We need to start make'n bingo sheets based on what these people say." Vergil says as he comes over to lean on the wall next to me. "Betcha, I can't breathe!"

"I'll take that bet." I say. "You owe me lunch if she says, you're hurting me! Followed by, you can't do this!"

"Deal." Vergil says and we high five on it.

"You feel good huh!?" The woman asks as she pulled out of the car and thrown to the ground. "You like this!? You like throwing women to the ground you rapist!? Help! He's raping me! Rape! Rape! A grown man is touching me without my consent!"

"Damn, didn't expect that one." Vergil says as the lady gets put in cuffs.

Officer Jones helps Officer Blane as the woman keeps struggling. Getting the woman up and against the squad car as Officer Jones pats her down.

"You can't do this! I know my rights!" She shouts as the officers ignore her and pull out a phone, a wallet, a pocket knife.

"Would've sucked to get stuck with that." Jones says as she places the pocket knife on the hood of the cruiser.

They pull out a pack of cigarettes, and a lighter.

"Stop! You can't do this to me! I'm not arrested! I didn't do anything!" She starts crying. "Aaaaah! You didn't even tell me what I'm being arrested for you shitbags!"

"Damn, how do they just, not say anything?" Vergil says what we're both thinking.

"You're just wracking up charges ma'am!" Jones says as they force her into the car. "Sit down."

"Because if they do say something sarcastic or witty, she can latch onto that as a literal statement and get one of them in trouble." I say, remembering the law and criminal justice classes.

"No!" The lady says as she tries to force her way past the cops. "You're not arresting me!"

"Huh." Is all Vergil says.

"Get your hands off me you perverts!" She shouts as they shove her in the car. "You're hurting me! You're hurting me you can't do this too me!"

"Damn it!" Vergil says, stomping his foot and snapping his fingers.

We both freeze as we hear it. The pteu, sound of someone spitting. And we see Officer Jones wipe spit off of her face.

"Aaaaauugh!" I groan, knowing that this shadow patrol now has to go to the hospital before we can go to the police station. Make sure she isn't diseased.

"Why do they always spit?" Vergil groans.

The reason Wade speaks every Germanic language, is because his Thinker specialty is pattern recognition. And English is a Germanic language. Thus making it easy for him to learn other languages that share the same root.

One of the big reasons Mr. Incredible is so against Kitsu here, is because he's a paragon of good. And Brockton Bay is very gray.

Kitsu especially so. Hell, Kitsu is only technically good. One of Mr. Incredible's core principles is that children should not be involved in dangerous situations. Hence him immediately getting onto Kitsu to leave. It doesn't matter that she's indestructible. This isn't the place for a child.

The fact that she is openly in contact with criminals. Only makes it worse.

FOR KITSU!

SRWilsonMR (discord): What are your favorite video game genres?

Kitsu: RPG for the stories they tell. And First Person Shooters so that I can pown all the NEWBs and hear their salty cries.

NEWB: … Really?

Kitsu: Deal with it.

Grimnosh: Have you considered making some extra seeds of your tree and other plants in case they somehow gets destroyed again (you could put them in a safety deposit box at the bank as seeds can last for a very long time, many surviving for 1-2000 years with the oldest known viable seeds having been carbon dated to an estimated 31,800 years).

Kitsu: I did. They got burned in the house fire. Another reason I think I let Stormfront die too quickly.

Grimnosh: Mangoes or Papaya?

Kitsu: Da Mangoes Maurice! Get da mangoes!

RadChaos897: What games are you thinking about streaming next? Does Earth-Bet have Ōkami?

Kitsu: got some TF2 and Black ops on the schedule! And, what's okami?

RadChaos897: Do games like Godzilla: Unleashed or Prototype exist on Earth-Bet? If so are they seen in poor taste to play because of Endbringers and Nilbog?

Kitsu: yeah, none of that here. Sorry.

RadChaos897: Do any Earth-Bet exclusive games exist? Such as games where you can play as capes or any copy cat games like a version of Injustice, but with Worm characters instead? I bet you wish there was a Mortal Kombat-style game where you could perform a Fatality! on Alexandria.

Kitsu: I wish! No, the most exclusive our games are is some Hero and Villain themed Tower Defense Games online. Like on Freeworldgroup.

RadChaos897: How many people have you had to ban so far and for what reasons? What is the best/worst ban you administered?

Kitsu: I haven't been streaming for long, so not even a hundred people.

Best ban? I banned someone because they said they were to cute to ban. I said bet.

I won the bet.

Worst ban? Someone dropped a link to a porn site.

And it wasn't even a good one.

RadChaos897: Any funny donation messages or chat comments that made you guffaw or do a spit take? What are some fun/interesting/weird requests that you've gotten?

Kitsu: I fell for the touch your elbows to your belly button trick. Only noticed when I looked down.

Banned!

RadChaos897: What sort of tricks have you preformed for chat that had them zooming with comments? Did any clever chatters trick you into doing something embarrassing so they could clip it?

Kitsu: Literally any time I pout! They call it Grumpy Fox Mode: Activate!

How is it, that I've gone my whole life without realizing I look cuter when mad?

RadChaos897: Does Missy watch and comment on your streams? If so then do you call her out and gush about her to embarrass her on stream?

Kitsu: Not yet, but I patiently await the day. Waiting, patiently.

Mostly because I stream when she has patrol or school.

Cassnova5424: Question for Kitsu: Is there a reason that you don't, even temporarily, shut off your pain receptors? with no chance of injury it seems like something sort of harmless to leave off most of the time.

Kitsu:……

NEWB: She's a masochist and an idiot who can't figure out how to turn off her pain receptors with accidentally overcharging them. Or accidentally shut off her neurons.

Kitsu: Shut up!

.

FOR NEWB!

Grimnosh: How is Emma dealing with Madison's catgirlness currently and will we see more of them? And how is Taylor taking this?

NEWB: Madison has become, something of an easy lay at Winslow. She couldn't get attention from Emma, so she sought it out elsewhere with, less than the best end results.

Taylor is still stalking Firebreather and becoming his number one fangirl.

Overall, their friendship is still going strong. Madison is still pining for Emma and not coping well with the slow realization that it's completely one sided. And Taylor is still part of the group.

Grimnosh: will we see other fursonalities?

NEWB: Possibly in the future as Amy figures herself out.

Cassnova5424: Have you ever had a situation where you had more words for plotlines than you do any written chapters? If so how did you get out of it?

NEWB: How, do you think, I got this far!?

Got to the very end of ch. 17. You'll see the hint to Kitsu's identity at the very end of the chapter. I planned on revealing the twist, in chapter 23.

This fic was supposed to be over by the start of SUMMER! LAST YEAR!
