When Green Arrow and Batman arrived at the Triad hangout Luke had directed them too, they found clear evidence of a massacre as members of the triad who had clearly tried to fight back against the attacker laid dead on the ground.

"This is extreme. Even by Gotham standards for a non-Arkham criminal." Batman said in horror as he looked around, since while these thugs may have been criminals, they were still human beings and no matter what they had done, they didn't deserve to be slaughtered like this.

"Look at their wounds. These people were killed by shots fired at close range. Like whoever did this wanted to see the looks in their victims' eyes before they pulled the trigger." Green Arrow said.

"This wasn't a fight. It was an execution. What we do is one thing, we might play judge and jury, but we never play executioner, we always allow our enemies to face an actual judge and jury." Batman said.

"And look at how far that's gotten you." a new voice said as they turned to see a guy wearing some kind of red hood standing there.

"Who are you?" Batman asked.

"The one you failed to save. The one they'll turn too when you let them down. Just like how you let me down. I'm the Red Hood." Red Hood said.

"Do I know you?" Batman asked.

"Intimately. In a way, you could say you created me, just like how you created my first victims." Red Hood said and that's when the pieces sunk in for Batman.

"No, it can't be." Batman said.

"I see you figured it out. I have to admit, considering how fast you were to abandon me and move on to someone else, I thought you'd forgotten about one of your biggest failures." Red Hood said.

"You know this guy?" Green Arrow asked.

"Yes. I thought he was dead. And if I'd known you were still alive, there's nothing I wouldn't have done to save you. Jason." Batman said as Red Hood removed his helmet to reveal the face of one Jason Todd.

"And you did such a great job with that. After all, it's not like you weren't already looking for a replacement, considering how quickly you recruited my replacement." Jason said.

"No, that was just dumb luck. You're the one who went out hunting for the Joker without backup." Batman reminded him.

"Because you'd benched me. Admit it, you regretted taking me in. You thought it was a mistake, that I could never live up to the greatness of Dick and Helena, since admit it, they were your favorites. Even though they both left you while I stayed." Jason said.

"You weren't ready to fight someone as dangerous as Joker by yourself yet. I was trying to teach you patience, since you kept trying to skip rungs on the ladder." Batman said.

"He took you in and gave you a family and a purpose after your parents were killed and this is how you repay him?" Green Arrow asked.

"The others need to pay for idolizing a liar and betrayer who will replace them without a second thought." Jason said.

"This isn't you Jason." Batman insisted.

"It is now. You made me into this Bruce when you let the Joker kill me and then tossed my memory aside like it meant nothing to you." Jason said.

"Jason, I don't know what happened to you, but let me help you now." Batman said.

"I'm done letting you try to 'help' me. Especially since help likely means a one way trip to an Arkham cell. And while we will lock horns eventually Bruce, now's not the time. I just wanted you to see your failure in person. And now." Jason said as he dropped a flash bomb, temporarily blinding Batman and Green Arrow and when the brightness faded, he was gone.

"Are you okay?" Green Arrow asked his friend and teammate.

"No. But I can't focus on that right now. I need to focus on putting the remaining members of what's been dubbed the Bat Family on high alert that they're in danger. We need to go before the authorities arrive. Luckily there's no trace of either of our weapons, so it can't be blamed on us." Batman said and Green Arrow nodded as they made themselves scarce.

Jason Todd is played by Leo Howard.
