Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Blaze and a smaller version of her team left for Hell to rescue Dick Grayson. But it turns out Darkblood had the same idea but in reverse. So he had Enchantress send both of them to where she had Dick Grayson sent, to make sure he stayed there. So, who's going to get there first? I'd say read on to discover that, but first, we have another thing to get to. What is that exactly? Read on to discover that much...

(Our scene picks up within the City of Dis, picking up specifically with Darkblood and Enchantress, wandering through the ruins of Hell's notable city, with Darkblood noting specifically how destroyed everything is.)

Darkblood: What exactly happened down here? I would've expected this place to be at least somewhat bustling.

Enchantress: To put the answer simply, Trigon happened.

Darkblood: (Looks at the devastation with that in mind) And what exactly got my father-in-law so pissed off that this was the result?

Enchantress: A 5th Dimensional Imp by the name of Mxyzptlk became the host of the Spectre to protect Superman from magical threats. He and Trigon eventually fought about three years in to Superman's initial takeover. The damage could be felt across dimensions until some quick spellcasting trapped both of them... well, we have no idea where they are now. Even Raven's not sure. The destruction of the City of Dis was just an after effect of that battle.

Darkblood: Huh. Interesting.

(As the two progress, Darkblood suddenly catches something on the winds, something he's not sure he likes. Enchantress just barely gets ahead of him before she sees this)

Enchantress: Is something wrong?

Darkblood: Someone else is here. Stay on your toes.

(Enchantress seems to think he's nuts for a second, but then she spots the dashing shadow out of the corner of her eye, igniting her hands with sickly green magic as she does)

Enchantress: Think it's Blaze?

Darkblood: She's not this stealthy. She'd have called on Shade for that, and this... this isn't him.

(At this point, the two are back to back, trying to spot this figure of the shadows. And then, after spotting it, Darkblood unleashes and Earth tremor that knocks the strange being down, revealing it's true face: some sort of admittedly handsome demonic being clearly bearing similarities to Raven, yet definitely no servant of Trigon. A fusion of Raven and Jason Blood with elements of Etrigan would be a fitting illustration, adding a violet silk scarf, black leather pants, a Constantine style trenchcoat, and dragon like wings)

Darkblood: Who are you?!

?: Please, don't hurt me, I mean you no harm! Forgive me if I caused you any alarm.

Enchantres: Hah! An Incubus of the Rhyming Cast! I thought Etrigan was the last one.

?: You know of mighty Etrigan? Then his legacy tween worlds does span.

Darkblood: Now answer my question, runt. Who are you?

Adonis Donnaiolo: My family: Donnaiolo, my name: Adonis. The last survivor of the misery cast upon us.

Darkblood: Adonis Donnaiolo?

Enchantress: That family name sounds familiar. Tell me, what are you doing here? I thought Incubi like yourself only existed in the circle of Lust?

Adonis Donnaiolo: How I moved tween circle of Hell, is one story I would rather not yet tell.

(At this moment, Darkblood sees something in this Incubus. Something he can use.)

Darkblood: How long have you been alone?

Adonis Donnaiolo: Too long, sir, too long by far. Ever since Trigon's last infernal war. His battle ripped Lust apart, leaving me alone in this ruined rampart.

Darkblood: (Extends a paw) Then let us provide you with a new family.

(Adonis Donnaiolo thinks about Darkblood's offer a while. Something in him tells him not to trust this guy, but on the other hand, soul-crushing loneliness overhwlems him, and he takes Darkblood's claw)

Adonis Donnaiolo: I'd follow you to eternity, if it meant regaining a family.

Enchantress: You won't need to go that far kid, just show us to where the Deadman was locked up and we'll be happy.

Adonis Donnaiolo: The Deadman, you say? Well then, right this way.

(Still hesitant that he's made the right choice, Adonis Donnaiolo shows Darkblood and Enchantress the way to where Dick Grayson is being kept)

Enchantress: Are you sure this is a good idea?

Darkblood: The little whelp is desperate for a family. I could see it in his eyes the moment I saw him. Besides, he's a means to an end. If he ever stops proving useful, we'll just kill him. Though, that may not happen, an Incubus could be good for garnering intel from prisoners. (Growls perversely) Especially if he can help build this little harem I've been working on.

Enchantress: Just so long as any new girls he finds for you don't forget that I'm the lead in this harem.

Darkblood: Of course, of course. We'll discuss that in future. For now, let's just find the Deadman before anyone else can.

(And as those two finish up their discussion on how Adonis Donnaiolo could be used, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. So, first update of 2024, and what a better time to introduce another one of Null's original characters: Adonis Donnaiolo, the Incubus. A character that proves to be of great importance later on, and if you know what I mean, don't spoil it for people here on this thing. I've said it in the past in another story, but I'm not even going to tell you which one to go to. But in the meantime, Adonis Donnaiolo has now joined the Empire. How's this little demon going to interfere with the good guys? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
