Secret of the Master Emerald

(Ayla's POV)

*We went to Wade's house*

Tails: Where are we?

Wade: Welcome to the Wade Cave. Which is something I hope to someday say to a woman. A woman who's not my mom.

Sonic: Wade, focus. We need to figure out why Knuckles thinks I'm the key to finding the Master Emerald.

Ayla: Yeah. And why did he mention Longclaw?

Tails: There must be a connection.

*We all thought for a minute*

Sonic: Wait a minute, there is. Look! *he reached into the Ring Pouch & took out the world map* There's an Emerald symbol on the map Longclaw gave us.

Ayla: You're right. We never knew what it meant before.

*Just then, the symbol started to glow*

Tails: Something's happening.

*The whole map started to light up*

Sonic: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa!

*He dropped the map & a blue holographic image of Longclaw appeared*

Sonic & Ayla: Longclaw?

Longclaw: Hello, Sonic and Ayla. If you're watching this, then something has happened to me; and I pray that you've made it to Earth unharmed. This world has been chosen for a very important reason. It's the secret location of the Master Emerald.

*A large green gem appeared as she opened her wings*

Sonic & Ayla: Whoa.

Longclaw: The emerald has the power to turn thoughts into reality.

Wade: Like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.

Tails: Shh!

Longclaw: In the wrong hands, it can threaten all life in the universe. Protecting the Emerald was my sacred duty, and now, I must pass that responsibility to you both.

Sonic: This . . . Is my moment

*I took his hand & he looked at me*

Ayla: "Our" moment, Sonic.

*He smiled & nodded*

Longclaw: Follow the map, find the Emerald, and keep it safe. My dear Sonic, my sweet Ayla, you have hearts like no creatures I've ever known. I love you so much. Goodbye.

*The image started to disappear*

Sonic: No, no, no, wait. Oh . . .

Ayla: Don't go!

*But she was gone*

Sonic: We won't let you down, Longclaw.

*I started to cry. He hugged me & let me cry on his shoulder*

Wade: So, is that . . . Your dad?

Tails: What?

Wade: No?

*Sonic picked up the map*

Sonic: According to the map, the first clue is in Siberia. It's a compass that'll lead to the Emerald.

Tails: And with Knuckles already here, it's a race.

Wade: Knuckles? Ya know, I knew a kid in middle school named Knuckles. Could fit his whole fist in his mouth. If this is the same Knuckles, pfff, we are screwed.

Ayla: Ew! Wade! Too much information. Also, no.

Sonic: This Knuckles, that Knuckles, doesn't matter. We're gonna get there first.

*He pulled out a Ring & opened it. Siberia was on the other side*

Tails: Hehehe, ummm. What do you mean "we"?

Sonic: You're coming with us.

Tails: Oh, no, no, no, no. I-I just came here to warn you. I'm not a field guy.

Ayla: Don't worry. We got your back.

Sonic: We're not gonna let anything happen to you. *he & I both held out our fists* It's a power bump. On Earth, it means an unbreakable promise.

Tails: Okay, I'm in.

*He did a three-way fist-bump with us*

(Third-Person POV)

*Meanwhile, in Hawaii, Tom was playing volleyball with Randall & his friends. Randall jumped into the air & hit the ball. The ball flew into Tom's chest, knocking him down. Randall gave a high-five to one of his friends*

Tom: Good one. Solid. *he looked at his teammates* Sorry, fellas.

Randall: That's game! Ha, that's how we do! That's how we do!

Tom: But are they good at math?

*They gave him awkward looks*

Randall: Teamwork makes the dream work! *he came up to Tom* Sorry about that, Big Tom. Are you good?

*He helped him up*

Tom: All good. Fine. Hey. Thanks for inviting me out to hang with you and your groomsmen. Good quality bonding.

Randall: Yeah, you know, bro? Those guys right there, they're way more than my groomsmen. That's my squad. Never would've made it through life without 'em.

Squad Guy: Get over here!

Randall: Yeah, I'm coming! I'm coming! *he raised a fist to Tom* I'll catch you later.

Tom: Oh, hey. Yeah!

*They did a fist bump*

Randall: Let me know if you're ready for some power yoga.

Tom: You bet.

Randall: Come on, Tommy boy. Let's go. Let's go.

*Then flexed their muscles*

Tom: Don't make me. *Randall off to join his squad* What am I doing?

*Maddie & Jojo came up to him. Jojo was holding a white pillow*

Jojo: Hey, Uncle Tommy!

Tom: Oh. Hey, girls! How are you do - *he sees the pillow* Are those the wedding rings?

Maddie: Uh-huh.

Tom: May I?

*He took the pillow*

Maddie: This little ring bearer has been taking her job very seriously. She's been practicing all morning.

Tom: Yeah, I can see that. How very responsible of you. *he gave the pillow back to Jojo* Except aren't there supposed to be two wedding rings?

*Jojo looked down at the pillow*

Jojo: Uh oh.

Maddie: Uncle Tommy?

Tom: Hang on. What's going on here? *he a took ring out of Jojo's ear & gave it to her* You're gonna do great, kiddo.

Jojo: Bye.

*She ran off*

Maddie: Hey, baby.

Tom: Hi.

*They hugged & kissed. Then they looked at Randall, who was partying with his squad*

Randall: That's right! Groom in the building!

Tom: Look at those guys. I wish Sonic had that.

Maddie: Muscles?

Tom: Control yourself.

Maddie: Mm-hm.

Tom: No. Buddies. Wingmen. A squad. Sonic doesn't have anything like that. Well, except for Ayla. Those two are always flying in a duo . . . But it would be nice if those two could have friends.

Maddie: Baby, you got to relax. You're at the four seasons. Have a Mai Tai. Spend some time with your wife.

Tom: That's what he said. Seriously, Sonic's exact words

Maddie: See? He's a smart kid. He'll find his way.

Tom: You're right. And Ayla's with him. I'm sure they're both fine.
