*I held on to Sonic as he snowboarded down the mountain. Sonic pulled out his phone & started to call Tom. He didn't answer the first one. Sonic texted him & he soon called back. Sonic used the video mode to talk to him*
Tom: WHAT?! This better be important. I just . . . Are you skiing?
Sonic: Snowboarding, actually. But we need your help now. Life or death situation this very second. We need you to use the Ring I gave you to save us. Like right now!
Ayla: And hurry! We can't keep this up forever!
Tom: Okay, slow down, slow down. I don't even know where you are.
Sonic: You just gotta picture where you want the Ring to go. So picture this.
*He showed Tom a forest we were passing*
Tom: Oh, my god. Okay, okay. Hang on. *he dug into his pocket & pulled out the Ring we gave him. he threw it, but nothing happened* What?
Sonic: Did you throw it?
*Tom looked somewhere & looked scared*
Tom: Oh, God.
Sonic: What? What? Tell me wh-what 'oh, god.
Ayla: Tom . . . What did you do with the Ring!?
Tom: I think I mixed up the rings when I was teasing Jojo.
Sonic & Ayla: What? Where is it then? Where is it?!
Tom: You don't wanna know.
Sonic: Oh, but I do, Tom. I very much want to know, before we become a hedgehog-flavored snow cones.
Tom: Hang tight, buddies. I got this.
*He hung up. The snow was right behind us as we kept going*
Ayla: C'mon, Tom, hurry! We're running out of time!
*Just then, the Ring appeared, with Hawaii & Rachel's wedding on the other side.
Rachel: Snow. My God.
Tom: Oh, boy.
Sonic: Incoming!
*We jumped through the Ring & crashed in the middle of the ceremony. Tom & Maddie ran up to us*
Tom: Anybody hurt? Sonic? Ayla?
Sonic: Uh . . . Hawaii . . .
Tom: Are you okay?
Maddie: What's happening? Are you hurt?
Sonic: No, no, no, we're fine.
Ayla: Cutting it close. But we're okay.
Tom: Okay, good. Because you're both in so much trouble!
Ayla: I know. I know. And I'm sorry. But I promise, we'll take whatever punishment, you can dish out.
Maddie: Okay, you calm down! You two, talk!
Ayla: Where do we even begin?
Sonic: Okay, quick version. Robotnik is back on Earth.
Ayla: And he's got an assistant named Knuckles the Echidna.
Sonic: And he's after a magic Emerald.
Ayla: And they took a compass to help them find it.
Tom: What?
Sonic: We need to get it back or the world is doomed. *just then, we remembered Tails* Tails! Oh, no, no, no.
*We started digging through the snow*
Ayla: Please be okay! Please be okay!
Maddie: Wait! All this happened since yesterday?
Ayla: Yeah, they ambushed us.
Tom: Hey, Wait, Wait. Who's Tails?
*We finally got Tails out of the snow*
Sonic: Tails, can you hear me?
Rachel: Oh, Lord, there are three of them now.
Ayla: Hey, Rachel. Sorry to crash the party. I love your dress.
Rachel: Oh. Thank you. But I still like an explanation about this Robotnik guy. Didn't you and your brother kick his can to another planet?
Ayla: We did. But he found his way back.
Sonic: Okay, okay, let me think, let me think. Tails, come on, buddy.
Ayla: He really hurt. He needs help now.
*Suddenly, two electric nets came out of nowhere & shocked me & Sonic. Then everything went black*
(Third-Person POV)
*The shock from the electric nets knocked both Sonic & Ayla unconscious. Then all of Randell's guests pointed guns at them*
Tom: Whoa!
Rachel: Randall, why do all of your friends have weapons?
*Then Commander Walters came up to them, stepping on a little girl's sandcastle on the way*
Commander Walters: You really should have taken me up on that brunch, Mr. and Mrs. Wachowski.
Tom: Olive Garden guy?
Commander Walters: It's okay, everyone. We're federal agents. *he held up a badge. then he turned to Randell* You, too, agent. Go ahead.
*Randell looked at Rachel with regret in his eyes & then took out his badge. Rachel was shocked*
Rachel: You mean to tell me . . . That this entire wedding was a setup!?
Randell: Rachel, wait a minute.
Tom: What?
Commander Walters: That's correct, ma'am. Every single aspect of Operation: Catfish was a complete fabrication.
Rachel: Operation: Catfish? So is everyone here an agent!? *she turned to the priest* Are you an agent? *he opened his book to reveal a gun inside. then he closed it & made the sign of the cross* Son of a . . . Was the florist an agent?! How about the photographer?! The woman who waxed my . . . At the spa?
Randell: Rachel . . .
Jojo: What?
Randell: Rachel, look, listen to me.
Rachel: I'm done listening! I am done listening!
*She started to cry*
Randell: I am so sorry. I am so sorry. I really am. I am so sorry.
*Meanwhile, three of the agents put Sonic, Ayla, & Tails in cages*
Tom: No. Hey, no! *he pushed one of the agents out of the way* Let them go!
*Suddenly, Randell grabbed his arms & handcuffed him*
Randell: Hey! Take it easy. It's not worth it.
Maddie: Tom!
*Walters stopped her*
Commander Walters: Ah, ah, ah.
Maddie: Sonic and Ayla are not a threat. They're on our side!
Commander Walters: They're uncontrolled extra-terrestrials. And your days of aiding and abetting them are over. Secure them in the hotel until the chopper arrives.
*The agents started to take them away*
Tom: You're making a mistake!
Rachel: Hold on, Major a-hole! This is still my day, and someone is gonna explain to me WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!
Commander Walters: After the events in San Francisco, a global task force was created, devoted to protecting our planet from alien threats. That day, Guardian Units of Nations was born.
Rachel: G.U.N. Seriously?
Commander Walters: GUN. Yeah.
Maddie: Look, what about protecting our planet from Dr. Robotnik?
Commander Walters: Robotnik is dead.
Maddie: You're wrong. He's back. And you just hauled away the only ones who could stop him.
*He took out a walkie-talkie*
Commander Walters: Sounds like Robotnik might be back in play. If he is, I want him found immediately. *he started to leave* And cancel my five o'clock at the Olive Garden.
*Jojo came up to Maddie*
Jojo: Aunt Maddie?
Maddie: Yeah?
Jojo: Sonic, Ayla, and their friend dropped this.
*She handed her an orange backpack, which was filled with Tails' gadgets. Maddie turned to Rachel*
Maddie: I have an idea.
Rachel: And I want to have a word with my fiancé. And that word is 'murder.
(Ayla's POV)
*Sonic & I woke up as we were rolled into the basement of the hotel & Tom was in handcuffs. Tails was still unconscious*
Sonic: Hey, come on. You can't just leave us in here. Our friend is hurt! He needs a doctor, a vet, anyone!
Ayla: Please, you have to listen to us!
Sonic: Tails, you got to wake up, buddy. Please. Please wake up.
*A few hours later, Maddie came in*
Tom, Sonic, & Ayla: Maddie!
Maddie: Come on. We're busting out of here.
Tom: How'd you get past the guards?
Maddie: Because that little fox is into some crazy stuff.
*She got Tom free from the handcuffs*
Tom: You're amazing.
*She got all three of us free from the cages*
*Later, Tails was leaned up against a tree as Maddie checked up on him. Suddenly, a pillar of green light shot up into the sky from far out at sea. Walters was tied up behind us*
Tom: Sonic, Ayla, what is that?
Sonic: A big problem. The compass led Robotnik to the Emerald.
Maddie: That's got to be hundreds of miles away.
Ayla: On some undiscovered island in the middle of the ocean.
Tom: All right. Huddle up. Let's figure out a plan. Together.
Sonic: There's no time for that. I'm the only one that can get there fast enough.
*He started to walk away*
Maddie: Sonic, this is way too big for you to do by yourself.
Ayla: She's right. You -
*He turned back to us*
Sonic: You see that little fox over there? He came all the way across the universe to meet his hero. And what did his hero do? I practically got him killed. You know what? You were right. My moment came and I blew it. I'm no hero.
Ayla: Sonic . . .
Tom: Wait . . .
Sonic: No. I'm not letting you or anyone else get hurt because of me. I'm gonna fix this while I still can
Ayla: I think you mean "we're" going to fix this.
Sonic: But, Ayla -
Ayla: Don't you "But, Ayla" me, mister. When we were kids, we promised that we would always be a team
*Sonic looked at me in surprise. Then he sighed & smiled*
Sonic: I'm never going to be able to win an argument with you, am I? *I smirked & shook my head. then he turned around* Okay, grab on. *I wrapped my arms around his neck* Hold on tight, got it?
Ayla: Got it.
*He zoomed towards the beach with me hanging on to him*
(Third-Person POV)
Tom: Sonic! Ayla!
*Just then, Tails woke up*
Tails: Sonic, Ayla, wait!
*He tried to fly after them, but fell right back down because of his injuries. Tom & Maddie ran up to him*
Maddie: Hold on. Hold on. Wait, wait, wait. Don't move. Don't move.
Tom: Take it easy, little guy. You're hurt.
Tails: I'll be alright, but we have to help then. You don't know what they're up against.
*They all looked towards the pillar of light. Even Walters looked a little worried. Just then, a walkie-talkie on a table went off. Tom answered it*
Agent:*off-screen* This is central command for Commander Walters.
*Tom picked it up & answered it in Walters' voice*
Tom: This is Commander Walters.
Agent:*off-screen* You got a call from local law enforcement in Green Hills Montana. Says it's urgent.
Tom:*real voice* Alright, put it - *fake voice* Put him through. *real voice* Wade, is that you?
Wade:*off-screen**whispering* Tom. Thank God. Robotnik is back.
Tom: Yep. We knew already Wade.
Wade:*off-screen**whispering* Well, do you also know that he's got an evil lair set up inside the Mean Bean?
Tom: What? Okay. Wade, listen to me very carefully. Do not go in there, got it? Don't move. Stand. I'm gonna get there as fast as I can. Don't go in.
Wade:*off-screen**whispering* You want me to in there?
Tom: No! Wade! Do not go in there! Understand? Do not go in there! Copy?
Wade:*off-screen**whispering* You got it, big dog. I read you loud and clear.
*Tom hung up & he & Maddie went up to Walters*
Tom: You believe us now?
*Walters nodded. Then they untied him. Tom gave him back his walkie-talkie*
Commander Walters: This is Commander Walters. Scramble every piece of hardware to Green Hills Montana. We have a Code Mustache. I repeat. Code Mustache. *Tom looked at Maddie, who shrugged* Bring that copper in.
*He hung up. They all looked back at the pillar of light*
(Ayla's POV)
*I was still holding on to Sonic as we stopped at the edge of the beach*
Sonic: Water. Why did it have to be water?
Ayla: Sonic, I know you can't swim, but some sacrifices have to be made to save the people we care about.
Sonic:*sigh* You're right. *he took a take-off position* Okay, you can do this.
Ayla: Just look straight ahead & don't look down.
*He nodded & his whole body started to spark*
Sonic: Gotta go fast.
*Then he took off. Running on the water. I held on tight to his neck, but not too tight. Big waves started coming towards us, but my brother powered through. He even jumped over one wave to the next. He lost his footing when he landed, but quickly got back up. Suddenly, another giant wave went over both of us & everything went dark, again*
*When I woke up, I saw I was on the beach of some tropical island. My brother was right next to me. I went over to him & shook him*
Ayla: Sonic! Wake up! Wake up!
*He woke up & coughed. Then he looked at me*
Sonic: Ayla, are you okay?
Ayla: I'm okay. How about you?
Sonic: I'm fine.
*I giggled at that. Then we saw the light again, coming from the jungle. We followed the light until we found the source. Our eyes went wide when we saw a giant temple, surrounded by waterfalls of ocean. The light was coming from the top of the temple*
