Final Battle
*Me, Sonic, Tails, & Knuckles came flying out of a Ring on a plane called the Tornado. A giant tornado of wind & metal parts was just outside of Green Hills*
Tails: That can only be one thing.
Knuckles: The fearsome power of the Emerald.
Sonic: If that thing really turns thoughts into power, we are in big trouble. Robotnik has a lot of bad thoughts.
Ayla: Most of them insane.
Tails:*whispering* Hey, Sonic, Ayla, are you sure it was a good idea bringing you-know-who aboard?
Sonic: Knuckles isn't a bad guy. He's just a little mixed-up.
Knuckles: I am not mixed up! I have steely focus. And I'm complex. And that's a lot for some people.
Ayla: Don't worry. We can handle it.
Tails: Hope you're not still mad I hit you with that car.
Knuckles: I was completely uninjured. And my revenge will come when you least expect it, fox.
*We got closer to the tornado, which seemed to be getting bigger. Suddenly, the wind died down, revealing a giant robot with Robotnik's ugly face on it*
Tails: How are we supposed to beat this thing?
Sonic: We need a plan. Knuckles, use your strength to . . . *suddenly, he thrust himself off the plane, backwards* Jump off the plane. Wow. Okay, this is what we're gonna do. Step 1: Light taunting. Step 2: I have no idea.
Ayla: How about, step two, we stop Robotnik before he destroys Green Hills!
Sonic: That works.
(Third-Person POV)
*Down below, Tom & Maddie saw the plane fly overhead*
Maddie: Sonic! Ayla!
(Ayla's POV)
*Once we were close enough to the robot, the taunting began*
Sonic: Nice action figure, Eggman.
Ayla: Does it do anything besides look ugly!?
(Third-Person POV)
Dr. Robotnik: Like a blister, they keep coming back! They're on the okay-to-kill list. Shoot the missiles. Make a decision.
Agent Stone: Uh, I need a moment, sir. I'm trying to figure out how to do this.
Dr. Robotnik: Did you even glance at a manual?
Agent Stone: No!
Dr. Robotnik: I'll do it. Pardon my lightning. You might want to ground yourself.
(Ayla's POV)
*Suddenly, the robot fired missiles*
Tails: Uh, oh.
Sonic: I'm gonna pop that thing open like a can of chili . . .
Ayla: Sonic! Turn around!
*He turned around & saw the missiles*
Sonic: Whoa!
Tails: Hang on!
*He steered the plane to avoid the missiles with Sonic & I hanging on to the wings. All the missiles exploded behind the plane & we all breathed a sigh of relief*
Sonic: Close one.
*Suddenly, one of the missiles hit him, knocking him off the plane*
Tails & Ayla: Sonic!
*The robot started flapping it's arms like a bird. Down below, Knuckles was trying to the robot, but wasn't even making a dent. Tails launched multiple gatling lasers at the robot, but that didn't work. Just then, the robot's mustache closed on the plane, destroying the wing. The plane went down, but Tails & I managed to get out, before it exploded. Suddenly, Sonic came back on the missile & jumped off it before it hit the robot's right kneecap. Then he landed in the street. Me, Tails, & Knuckles, caught up with him*
Knuckles: Those were our best attacks and they did nothing!
Tails: We can't beat Robotnik as long as he's got that Emerald.
Sonic: Look. We aren't strong enough to beat Robotnik on our own, but there's three of us. *he turned to Knuckles* Your strength . . . *then to Tails* Your smarts . . . *and then to me* Your skills. And my speed, together. That's how we win.
Knuckles: So we make our stand here on the field of battle.
Ayla: Together.
Tails: As a team.
Sonic: This is it. This is our moment! *we all turned to the robot. I took a new weapon I had been saving for such an occasion. they were Ring Blades, swords made of energy that came out of my bracelets. the robot started sending out a swarm of drones, coming towards us. We all started attacking the drones* Bad time to say this, but I don't actually have a plan.
Ayla: Of course. Why am I not surprised?
Sonic: Tails, any ideas?
Tails: We have to find his weak spot.
Knuckles: I suggest the groin.
Sonic: What!? No! No!
Ayla: Why not? I read it's always the best way to take down a creep.
Knuckles: She's right. The groin is the weakest spot.
Sonic: Stop saying groin!
Dr. Robotnik:*off-screen* Hedgehogs!
*The robot suddenly fired missiles from it's own knuckles*
Ayla: Look out!
*We ran towards the robot as we dodged the missiles, me on my hoverboard*
Sonic: I know what his weak spot is. It's me and Ayla! We're the groin!
Ayla: Sonic, that's disgusting!
*he got into a spin dash & Knuckles threw him at a drone. Tails caught him in mid-air. then they did a spin dash together*
Sonic: Think about it, sis! We live rent-free in this dude's head, so if we go out there and rile him up . . .
Knuckles: He'll focus on only you, leaving himself open to a flanking maneuver from me and the fox! Hedgehog, you and your sister are brave and noble warriors! Go to your certain death with honor!
Ayla: Knuckles, we really need to work on your pep talks.
Tails:*laugh* Yeah.
Sonic: Let's go! *Sonic & I continued down Main Street while Tails & Knuckles went in opposite directions. We stopped in-between the robot's legs* All right, mustache! You want us? Come and get us!
Ayla: Come and get us!
Dr. Robotnik:*off-screen* You don't tell me about coming and getting. I am on the cutting edge of coming and getting!" Robotnik angrily says, and proceeds walking Coming, getting! Coming, getting! Coming, getting! Coming, getting!
*We both zoomed away as the robot chased after us*
(Third-Person POV)
*Meanwhile, Tom & Maddie were evacuating the town*
Maddie: Go! Move, guys! Move back!
Tom: Let's go, that's it! Go, go, go, go, go! Keep going!
*Just then, a white truck came up to them*
Tom & Maddie: No-no-no-no whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
*The truck stopped*
Driver: Tom, what the heck happened here?
*Tom turned to his wife*
Tom: You thinking what I'm thinking?
Maddie: Let's go get our kids.
Tom & Maddie:*to the driver* We need your truck!
*They got in & drove towards the battle*
(Ayla's POV)
*Sonic & I stood at the top of a tree as the robot was still coming after us*
Dr. Robotnik:*off-screen* Coming . . . Getting . . .
*He stopped, trying to catch his breath*
Sonic: Yoo-hoo! So what's the plan here? You gonna build a big robot house? Get yourself a big robot wife?
Ayla: Start a nice giant robot family.
Dr. Robotnik:*off-screen* I'm going to enslave humanity and force them to service my machines. First Green Hills, then the universe, then the multiverse, then who knows?! Maybe that'll be enough. Full disclosure? You two won't be there.
*Suddenly, the robot fired lasers from it's eyes. They barely missed the tree we were standing on & & my board. We fell to the ground with pieces of burning tree raining down on us. Sonic quickly grabbed me & we zoomed through the forest, avoiding the lasers as much as we could*
Sonic: Eye lasers?! Really?!
Ayla: Less talking, more running!
*We made our way to the bridge. My brother was starting to get tired as the robot quickly caught up to us*
Dr. Robotnik:*off-screen* Snot rocket!
*The robot suddenly shot a rocket out of it's nose*
Ayla: Okay, that's disgusting!
*The rocket destroyed the bridge & we fell to the ground below. I felt a sharp pain in my ankle, but I managed to stay conscious. Just then, the robot seemed to lose power & fell to the ground face-first. The Master Emerald suddenly landed a few feet away from us. Sonic & I slowly got up*
Sonic: The Emerald . . . It's right there . . .
Ayla: We . . . Have to . . . Get . . . It first . . .
*We got up & limbed towards the Emerald. The robot suddenly got up & started coming towards the Emerald too*
(Third-Person POV)
*Meanwhile, Tom & Maddie were coming up behind the robot in the truck*
Maddie: There they are! Go! Go, go, go!
(Ayla's POV)
*Soon, we made it to the Emerald, with the robot's foot right above us. Suddenly, a pair of arms grabbed both of us & the Master Emerald. I looked up & smiled*
Ayla: Maddie . . . Tom . . .
Maddie: We got you, two.
Tom: Hold on!
*Suddenly, the robot punched the ground with it's fist, sending us flying a bit & wrecking the truck Tom & Maddie came in. We got out of the truck*
Maddie: You guys okay?
Tom, Sonic, & Ayla: Yeah . . .
*We all sat down next to the truck*
Sonic: I got the Emerald. We can still defeat him. Come on, come on. How does this thing work? What do I do?
*Suddenly, the Emerald broke into a seven different jewels*
Ayla: No. No, no, no, no, no!
*The robot was getting closer. Suddenly, it shot out flames that trapped us in a circle*
Sonic:*to Tom & Maddie* You have to get away from us. We're the ones he wants.
Maddie: Hey. We're not going anywhere. We're family.
Tom: And families stick together . . . No matter what.
*I felt my eyes swell with tears. The robot got ready to crush us with it's foot. I hugged all three of them*
Ayla: I love you guys.
Sonic: Me too.
Tom: We love you guys too.
*Suddenly, the seven jewels gathered together in a circle & went into me & Sonic. Then the robot stepped on us*
(Third-Person POV)
Tails: NO!
Dr. Robotnik: I got them! I finally got them! *suddenly, the robot jolted* What was that!?
*He looked down & saw a golden light coming from under the door of the robot*
(Ayla's POV)
*Sonic & I pushed up against the robot's foot. Only now, our fur & quills had turned a golden yellow & our eyes turned red (look up "Ayla - Movie Version (Super Form)" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt"). Then we flew up, going through the foot. Then, going really fast, we sliced the head off the robot, exposing Robotnik. We went up to him*
Sonic: It's over, Eggman.
Ayla: You're done.
Dr. Robotnik: I like the new look. It works for you. What do you say we just let bygones be bygones? I did some things, you did some things. There are good people on both sides. *we glared at him* Surely three intelligent beings . . . Can work these things out!
*Suddenly, he had his robot throw a punch at us, but we blocked it with our new super strength. Robotnik pushed against us, but the hand wouldn't budge. Then it exploded*
(Third-Person POV)
*Tom, Maddie, Tails, & Knuckles watched from below*
Tom: Come on, buddy. Come on.
Maddie: Get him, Sonic!
Tom: Yeah. Come on, Ayla. you can take him
(Ayla's POV)
*Robotnik went for a punch with his other hand, but that exploded as well. Then we flew around the robot, flew in & out of hit, going in different directions & high-fiving each other every time we passed the other. Then we went up to the top of the robot & tapped it with our toes*
Dr. Robotnik: Oh, it's like that? Okay, we're not friends.
*It started to fall backwards*
Ayla: Have a nice fall.
*The robot hit the ground*
Dr. Robotnik: Later, haters!
*Then it exploded. Sonic & I slowly landed back on the ground. Tom & Maddie ran up to us*
Maddie: Sonic! Ayla!
Tom: Buddy!
*Knuckles stopped them*
Knuckles: You cannot touch them! The hedgehogs hold the power of the Emerald. I am sorry. They're no longer the Sonic and Ayla you once knew.
Tom: What?
*Sonic then thrust his hand up to the sky & clouds started to swirl. He sent lighting into them & a chili dog appeared in his hand. He took a bite*
Sonic: Oh, you got to try this.
*He snapped his fingers & another chili dog fell from the sky & landed on Knuckles' face*
Knuckles: Okay. He is exactly the Sonic you once knew. But the girl . . . *I just smiled at him & flew towards town. Then, with a snap of my fingers, I restored the whole town & the bridge. then I flew back to the others* And it appears that the girl is exactly the same.
*Tom & Maddie chuckled*
Tom & Maddie: Uh-huh.
*Then we both powered down*
Maddie: Sonic! Ayla!
*She hugged us both, which I was happy to return*
Tom: Bring it in, buds!
*He hugged us to*
Sonic: It's good to be back in blue. The golden god thing was fun, but blue has always been more my color.
Ayla: Same here.
Tom: Looks good on you.
Tails: Sonic, Ayla, you both were the most powerful heroes in the universe, and you let it go. Why?
Sonic: Because we still have some growing up to do. And I like being a kid.
Ayla: We both do.
Tom: And you're both not just any kids. You're our kids.
Maddie: That's right. *she poked both of our noses* Bring it in!
*We, including Tails, did a group hug*
Tails: Yay! Group hugs!
Sonic: It's a good thing we didn't do this before. You would've blown up.
*We all laughed at that. Then I saw Knuckles gathering the seven Emeralds & merging them together to recreate the Master Emerald*
Ayla: Wow! You fixed it!
Knuckles: I've spent my whole life questing for this. Now I have it. Now we have it. What do we do with it? What next?
*He gave it to Tails*
Tails: There were once two orders of heroes who protected the galaxy from those who would use the Emerald for evil.
Knuckles: But they all passed on to the great battleground in the sky.
Ayla: Then maybe it's time to start a new order. The four of us. Together.
Knuckles: This is no light task. We must make a vow; to use our powers to keep the universe safe; to watch out for each other. Our new tribe.
Tails: I know! A power bump!
*He brought out his fist*
Sonic: Good idea.
Ayla: Perfect.
*We brought our fists together & we turned to Knuckles, who looked confused*
Tails: It's an Earth custom. An unbreakable promise.
Knuckles: Very well. A power bump it is.
*He joined his fist with ours & Tom & Maddie joined in*
Sonic & Ayla: Power bump!
*Once we finished, I punched Knuckles in the stomach, much to everyone's shock. He fell over, holding his stomach*
Ayla: That's for trying to kill us!
